Car hit pole head on, airbags did not deploy. Dash indicated SRS airbag failure
I was hit in the front of the vehicle in the driver side by a large deer while traveling at 55 mph and you could smell airbag smoke but there was no airbag deployment whatsoever.
The seat belt on the driver's side is too short. I can barely get it to fasten and when I do I have no ability to move. I can't lean forward to look for traffic, light changes, etc. This seems to be a problem as I went on a Honda forum and others experience the same issue.
Hood - flutters and wobbles significantly at highway speeds. Per recall check, this vehicle is not included. Seat belt - more of a personal thing, but the driver's seat belt cuts into the driver's neck, even when high of shoulder strap is adjusted. When using a device to help control where the shoulder strap lays, it was found that the driver's seat belt is MUCH shorter than all other in the vehicle. Therefore not allowing the driver to use something to adjust the shoulder portion and still safely check blind spots.
Hi. Soon after I bought the car the steering wheel is making a loud cleacking noise. I took it to the Schaumburg Honda dealer and they replaced the cable reel under the airbag 4 times. They replaced the wrong part while the car was under the manufacturer warranty. Now the car has no warranty and they said honda knows about the faulty airbag and they do not want to replace it. When you turn the steering wheel to the right or to the left is making a loud cleacking noise. I have all the paperwork. Please help me so no one will get injured or killed on the road. Thank you.
GOT INTO A FRONTAL COLLISION AND THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM PROBLEM APPEARED ON THE DASH.
AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY ON IMPACT. DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH ON A RESIDENTIAL ROAD WHEN BRAKE'S LOCKED AND CAR DID NOT RESPOND, RUNNING DIRECTLY INTO A TELEPHONE POLE WHILE ON A HILL/SLOPE. CAR PICKED UP SPEED BEFORE IMPACT. AIR BAG SENSOR OR ERROR APPEARED ON IMPACT, CAR SMELLED OF SMOKE/BURNING. FRONT BODY AND FRAME HAD EXTENSIVE DAMAGE, IE. RADIATOR CAGE(?). AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND POLICE STATED THAT GIVEN THE IMPACT, THEY SHOULD HAVE. CAR IS BEING REPAIRED AND AIR BAG SENSOR CONTINUES TO DISPLAY WITHOUT KNOWN CAUSE.
WE WERE HIT ON THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDES OF THE VEHICLE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS TRAVELLING AT AN ESTIMATED 90-100 MPH, AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY VEHICLE WAS TRAVELLING AT ABOUT 50 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE WHEN IT WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FIRST. THE FORCE OF THAT IMPACT PUSHED MY VEHICLE INTO A LARGE BOX TRUCK ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE POLICE STATED THAT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED WITH THE EXTREME FORCE OF THE IMPACT.
DRIVER'S SEAT BELT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT IS AT LEAST 10 INCHES SHORTER THAT ALL OTHER SEAT BELTS IN THE VEHICLE. THIS MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOOK AROUND AND SEE CLEARLY WHEN BACKING, TURNING, AND MERGING. ALSO, THERE IS NOT AN ELR WITH THIS BELT. THIS SEEMS LIKE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA PILOT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, A DEER CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT BECAME STUCK. THE CONTACT COULD SMELL A BURNING ODOR AS IF THE AIR BAGS HAD DEPLOYED WITHIN THE DASHBOARD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM HONDA LINK INDICATING A REPORTED AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. MCKENNEY-SALINAS HONDA (4295 WILKINSON BLVD, GASTONIA, NC) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM GOES ON AND OFF.
"TAKATA RECALL" THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG OF OUR 2016 HONDA PILOT SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED AS MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH STRAIGHT ALONG ROUTE 195 IN MANSFIELD, CT ON MAY 11, 2019. AT THE TIME OF THE DEPLOYMENT SHE HAD PASSED OVER A STORM DRAIN THAT STICKS OUT INTO THE NARROW ROAD. THE DRAIN CAUSES A SLIGHT DEPRESSION IN THE ROADWAY, WHICH THE WHEELS ROLLED OVER. THERE WAS NO IMPACT. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. SHE MANAGED TO KEEP HER WITS ABOUT HER SO SHE DIDN'T GET HIT ON THE BUSY, NARROW ROAD. THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR IS PRISTINE. THE INTERIOR IS A MESS. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG IS DOWN, BLOCKING VISIBILITY, AND THE SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT. THE DEPLOYMENT TOOK OUT THE HEADLINER AND TORE THE PASSENGER'S SEAT APART. OUR CAR HAS BEEN SITTING AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP AND NOW AT A BODY REPAIR FACILITY FOR TWO WEEKS. HONDA TELLS US IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT. THEY CLAIM WE HAVE A BENT CONTROL ARM ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT OF THE CAR. HOWEVER, WE HAVE FELT NO PULLING, SHAKING, TREMORS, BUMPING OR OTHER EFFECTS OUR MECHANIC ASSURES US WOULD HAPPEN WITH A BENT CONTROL ARM. WE WERE TOLD BY THE HONDA DEALER THAT REPAIRS COULD COST $5,000 TO $10,000 BUT HAVE NO OFFICIAL ESTIMATE. WE HAVE TURNED THE CASE OVER TO OUR INSURANCE COMPANY.

THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PETERS HONDA OF NASHUA (300 AMHERST ST, NASHUA, NH 03063) AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT COULD BUY A HONDA SEAT BELT EXTENDER TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-999-1009 AND STATED THAT THE HONDA WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL STREET 5 TO 10 MPH BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENT OR HIT NO UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE I ALSO HAVE MORE PHOTOS PLUS A VIDEO SHOWING VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY DAMAGE.
WHILE DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL STREET GOING 10 TO 15 MPH BOTH AIRBAGS FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED DID NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENT DID NOT HIT ANYTHING ENCLOSE IS PIC AND VIDEOS OF THE VEHICLE WITH NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO BODY OR UNDER CARRIAGE OF VEHICLE
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT IS MUCH SHORTER THAN THE PASSENGER SIDE BELT AND NEEDS A SEAT BELT EXTENSION TO USE OR CAN NOT USE THE BELT.
WHEN SECURING THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT, IT SEEMED TO BE TOO TIGHT AND DID NOT ALLOW ROOM TO REACH THE DASH. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY LUBRICATED IT AND SAID IT WAS WORKING FINE. IT STILL CONTINUED TO FEEL TOO TIGHT - ESPECIALLY WHEN COMPARED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. SO, I STOPPED BY A HONDA DEALERSHIP AND TRIED THE SEATBELT IN ONE OF THEIR 2016 MODELS AND FOUND THAT IT HAD THE SAME SNUGNESS AS MY VEHICLE. I HAVE SINCE MEASURED BOTH THE DRIVER'S SEATBELT AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT. THE RESULT WAS THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE BELT IS A FULL 24 INCHES SHORTER THAN THE FRONT PASSENGER BELT, WHEN FULLY EXTENDED. I FEEL THAT IF IT IS TIGHT ON ME, IT COULD POSE A PROBLEM FOR OTHERS AS WELL. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT, EVEN THOUGH THE BELT WAS A LITTLE SNUG, I REALLY DID NOT NOTICE IT UNTIL I WAS WEARING BULKY WINTER CLOTHING AND HEAVY COAT.
