INTERMITTANT - ENGINE REVS AT HIGH RPM'S IN ALL GEARS UPON START-UP. ENGINE REVVED WHILE DRIVING IT INTO A PARKING LOT WHILE IN SECOND GEAR. KEPT REVVING. IN 3RD AND 4TH GEARS, FEELS LIKE THE CAR WANTS TO JUST "TAKE OFF" WITHOUT ME GIVING IT ANY MORE GAS.*AK
THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT THAT CONTROLS THE TRANSMISSION, BUT IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL GET A RECONDITIONED ONE IN, BUT I CAN GET A BRAND NEW ONE IN OCTOBER. BOTH THE DEALER AND HYUNDAI HAVE BEEN TOTALLY UNCONCERNED THAT I NEED THIS CAR TO MAKE A TRIP TO HELP MY DISABLED FAMILY MEMBERS IN OHIO. I HAVE NOW ASKED FOR A LOANER VEHICLE TO MAKE THE TRIP. AND I AM WAITING TO HEAR FROM THEM ON THAT. I AM FOLLOWING THE STEPS NECESSARY IN CASE I NEED TO PROCEED WITH A LAWSUIT BASED ON THE LEMON LAW.*JB
BRAKES FAILED AT 9000 MILES CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. FRONT BRAKES WERE IN A METAL TO METAL CONDITION. PADS ON FRONT DISC BRAKES HAVE NEED REPLACEMENT EVERY 8000 MILES SINCE THIS INCIDENT. THE ROTOTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT 50 MPH ANOTHER DRIVER PULLED IN FRONT OF OF CONSUMER'S VEHICLE, AND IT HIT OTHER VEHICLE ON FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE. UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CONSUMER STATEED THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED CAUSING BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOWLY SINK TO THE FLOOR. *TT
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON ALL DAY CAUSING OXYGEN SENSOR SWITCH TO BLOW OUT. NLM *TT
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN THE CAR WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.THE CAR WAS STALLING OUT,WAS HOLDING A READY SPEED. THE ENGINE KEPT STALLING OUT. PUSH CLULCH IN,AND PULL OVER. SHUT DOWN ENGINE,LOOK UNDERHOOD.SEE NO PROBLEM.RESTARTED AND NO MORE PROBLEMS. THE DEALER'S SHIP HOOKED UP HI SCAN AND CHECKED FOR CODES "ECU".NO CODES,ALL SYSTEM PASS CHECKED OVER CURRENT DATA-OK.I HAD GOOD DRY GAS IN TANK. CAR WAS FULL OF GOOD GAS AND WARM UP FROM DRIVING FOR TWO HOURS AT HIGHWAY SPEED..BEEN DRIVING FOR 30 MINTURES.AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAN ON,ETC,ETC. *AK
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. INTERMITTENTLY THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS BETWEEN GEARS BRAKING THE VEHICLE CREATING WHEEL SPIN. THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME AT 350 MILES. THE DEALER AS BEEN NOTIFIED. NLM
WAS DRIVING 40MPH AND HIT A LARGE PUDDLE OF WATER IN THE ROAD VEHICLE SLID AND DID 360 DEGREE TURN. HIT A LIGHT POLE, OFF CENTER AND THEN A FENCE. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DRIVER/ FRONT AND REAR PASSENGERS SUFFERED INJURIES. HAD EMERGENCY ROOM TREATMENT.*AK
WHEN STOPPED, IF YOU NEED TO HOLD THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN, SUCH AS ON A HILL, PEDAL SINKS SLOWLY TO THE FLOOR. IT IS WORSE WHEN THE CAR IS WARMED UP.*AK
THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 5 TIMES BETWEEN 18FEB AND 3JUN OF 2002. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE FILLED OUT ALL INFORMATION TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY, AS THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN FOR SERVICE. DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION
A "CLUNKING" NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE DURING APPLICATION OF BRAKES. DEALERSHIP EXAMINED VEHICLE AND DETERMINED BRAKE DRUMS WERE NOT ROUNDED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. FOUR DAYS LATER, VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR BEFORE BRAKE SYSTEM ACTIVATED. CRASH OCCURRED ON DECEMBER 5, 2001 WHEN VEHICLE REAR-ENDED A STOPPED CAR WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 MPH. *AK *TT
CONSUMER STATES THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING, AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE.*JB
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD "BUCK" DURING ACCELERATION WHEN VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED FROM REVERSE INTO THE DRIVE GEAR. ALSO, STATES VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A "CLUNKING" NOISE WHEN TRANSMISSION "BUCKED". DEALERSHIP EXAMINED VEHICLE, AND COULD NOT REPRODUCE PROBLEM. THEN, AFTER CONSULTATION WITH MANUFACTURER, DEALERSHIP REPLACED TRANSMISSION. *AK *JB
CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE OPENED THE DOOR TO HER NEW VEHICLE, AN ODOR/CHEMICAL ODOR BLASTED AT HER, WHEN SHE ASKED THE SALESMAN ABOUT THE ODOR HE INFOMRED HER THAT WAS JUST A NEW CAR SMELL, HOWEVER THE ODOR NEVER WENT AWAY EVEN WITH THE VEHICLE BEING AIRED OUT DAILY, THE DEALER NEVER RESOLVED THE PROBLEM, CONSUMER REQUESTED TO TURN VEHICLE BACK IN, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT IF THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED IN ON A TRADE CONSUMER WOULD GET $2000 LESS THAT WHAT SHE PAID FOR IT, POSSIBLE FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM, CONSUMER STATES THAT THE SMELL MADE HER DIZZY AND NAUSEATED.*JB
2002 HYUNDAI ACCENT - OWNER WAS INJURED IN ACCIDENT. CONDITIONS AND INJURIES ARE SIMILAR TO THOSE STATED IN RECALL 02V167000. *NJ
WHILE DRIVING 60-65 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END ACCIDENT. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, RESULTING IN DRIVER SUSTAINING MAJOR INJURIES, AND PASSENGER SUSTAINING MINOR INJURIES. CONSUMER HAS NOTIFIED MANUFACTURER ABOUT MALFUNCTION OF AIR BAGS.*AK
THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN DUE TO THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR FAILURE. THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. *YH
VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING. DEALER CONTACTED, COULD NOT FIX PROBLEM.*AK

CONSUMER NOTICE WHILE TRAVELING WITHOUT ANY INDICATION ENGINE STARTED IDLING HIGH CAUSING CONSUMER TO APPLY FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP VEHICLE FROM TAKING OFF. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. TS
CONSUMER STATES THE DIMMER SWITCH FOR THE HEAD LIGHTS IS DEFECTIVE. THE LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY AND THE HIGH AND LOW BEAMS SHUT OFF WHEN GOING OVER A SLIGHT BUMP LEAVING THE DRIVER WITHOUT LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK. *TT *NLM

WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN THE WINDS WERE HIGH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WINDOWS WOULD OPEN DUE TO FAULTY WINDOW SEALS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN CORRECTED. *NLM *NLM
THE TOP LEFT INSIDE DOOR PANEL CLIPS CAME OUT. THE PANEL HIT THE DRIVER IN THE FACE WHILE DRIVING. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. *JB
WHEN FIRST STARTING THE VEHICLE IN THE MORNING IT VEHICLE IDLES HIGH A COUPLE OF TIMES AND SHAKES, THEN THE VEHICLE IS FINE. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT AIR BAG PROBLEMS, NON DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAGS. VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN TWO DIFFERENT FRONT COLLISIONS WHILE DRIVING 40-45 MPH, AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED AT THE TIME OF THIS CALL.*AK
WHEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WAS FULLY EXTENDED IT WOULD NOT RETRACT. *NM
AIR BAG DEPLOYED WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE AND BROKE THE WINDSHIELD. VEHICLE WAS NOT HIT. *AK
