I've had to replace the visor 3 times because the hinge will spontaneously break and the visors will flips down blocking vision.
DRIVERS VISOR WON'T STAY UP. FALLS DOWN CONTINUALLY BLOCKING VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING.
DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR SUDDENLY BROKEN, PIECE INSIDE ROD CRACKED OR BROKEN. WON'T STAY UP AND FALLS DOWN HAZARDOUSLY BLOCKING VIEW. NOT COVERED BY HYUNDAI AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER OWNERS SEEM TO HAVE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
PASSENGER SEAT SUN VISOR BROKE. BY 'BROKE' I MEAN THAT THE INTERNAL SPRING MECHANISM TO KEEP IT FOLDED UP FAILED SO IT NOW FLOPS DOWN INTO THE LINE OF SIGHT AND INTERFERES WITH VISIBILITY. IT CANNOT BE FOLDED BACK UP OUT OF VISIBILITY, IT JUST KEEPS FLOPPING STRAIGHT DOWN. JUDGING FROM COMMENTS ON FORUMS, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM WITH HYUNDAI SEDANS, AND IS A BIG SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY IF IT HAPPENS TO THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR, BECAUSE OF HOW IT CAN SUDDENLY FAIL AND INTERFERE WITH VISIBILITY. *TR

ENTERING THE CAR, AT 7PM, AFTER IT WAS PARKED AT A RESTAURANT, FOR 1-1/2 HOURS. THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WAS HANGING DOWN AND WOULD NOT STAY UP AND OUT OF SIGHT, SEVERELY IMPAIRING DRIVING VISION. *TR
SUN VISORS DROP DOWN WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD BLINDING THE DRIVER. SUN VISORS DO NOT STAY IN PLACE RESULTING IN A SAFETY HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER. *JS
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY VISOR SIMPLY FELL AND HIT ME IN THE FACE. IT WILL NO LONGER STAY UP OR IN THE "DOWN" POSITION, IT ONLY HANGS THERE BLOCKING A GOOD PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD. I HAVE TO USE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO PROP THE THING UP SO THAT I CAN SEE TO DRIVE. I FEEL FORTUNATE THAT WHEN IT FELL IT DID NOT STARTLE ME ENOUGH TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IT IS A HAZARD TO NOT BE ABLE TO USE IT IN THE SUN, I LIVE IN ARIZONA AND IT IS BRUTAL HERE. THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR IS ALSO STARTING TO SHOW SIGNS OF NOT STAYING IN PLACE, NOT AS MUCH OF A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT STILL A PROBLEM. *TR
DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR FAILURE - THE FRICTION ROD INSIDE THE SUN VISOR SUDDENLY LOST ITS ABILITY TO HOLD THE SUN VISOR IN PLACE, RESULTING IN THE SUN VISOR DROPPING UNPREDICTABLY INTO THE DRIVER'S LINE OF SIGHT. THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING. APPARENTLY THIS IS A KNOWN DESIGN/MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH HYUNDAI VEHICLES OF THIS ERA, AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS SUBSEQUENTLY PRODUCED A REDESIGNED SUN VISOR THAT IS REPORTEDLY NOT SUSCEPTIBLE TO THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL, INSTEAD OPTING TO SELL THE NEW PART TO AFFECTED CONSUMERS FOR $150-200. *TR
NORMAL USE OF SUN VISOR LEADS TO THE PLASTIC CRACKING AROUND THE INTERNAL SUPPORT BAR. THE SUN VISOR SLOWLY STARTS FAILING TO STAY IN THE FULL UPRIGHT POSITION AND THEN EVENTUALLY WILL NOT STAY AT ALL. THE SUN VISOR WILL FALL TO THE FULL DOWN POSITION IN THE DRIVER'S VIEW. THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THE FAILURE IS TO REMOVE THE SUN VISOR COMPLETELY AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE APPARATUS. BOTH THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SUN VISORS ARE BROKEN. *TR

MY 2007 HYUNDAI ACCENT DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR HAS BROKEN JUST AFTER WARRANTY WENT OUT. IT WILL NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION ANYMORE. IT IS IN MY FACE AND VERY HAZARDOUS WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE NOT REPLACED YET BECAUSE THE DEALER WANTS $190.00 TO REPAIR/REPLACE. I HAVE READ ABOUT NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON ALL HYUNDAI'S. PLEASE HELP! *TR
DRIVERS SIDE VANITY MIRROR WOULDNT STAY UP (LIKE SO MANY OTHERS) LESS THEN 2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASING FROM USED CAR DEALERSHIP (2007 ACCENT, BOUGHT IN 2016). SINCE THE THING WOULDNT STAY UP WHILE DRIVING AND I HAD SOMEONE FOLLOWING ME TO GET SOMEPLACE THEY NEEDED TO BE ASAP, I JUST RIPPED THE DARN THING OFF BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY CRACKED ON THE SUPPORT BAR. IT CAME RIGHT OFF WITH VERY LITTLE EFFORT REQUIRED. I DONT USE IT SO I HAVE NO INTENTION OF HAVING IT FIXED USING VELCRO TO HOLD IT UP AFTER ITS PUT BACK IN PLACE. I REMOVED THE WIRING AND BAR ATTACHMENT. IM JUST GRATEFUL THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC AT THE TIME, SO THERE WAS LITTLE CHANCE OF AN ACCIDENT (OTHER THAN ACCIDENTAL DRIFT TO THE SIDE).
