THE PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISOR SUDDENLY DISLODGED FROM ITS PIVOT POINT AND FELL TO THE DASHBOARD. I HAD IT REPAIRED AT THAT TIME. LAST WEEK (11/07/2014) THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR. I WAS TRAVELLING AT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT COLLAPSED IN FRONT OF ME COMPLETELY BLOCKING MY VISION. I NEARLY DROVE OFF THE HIGHWAY SINCE I COULD NOT SEE. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS PART MUST BE DEFECTIVE BUT THE DEALER TELLS ME AS FAR AS HE KNOWS I'M THE ONLY CUSTOMER WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. I'VE HEARD THAT THE SAME YEAR HYUNDAI SONATA HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR A SIMILAR PROBLEM, AND I DON'T KNOW WHY THE SANTA FE HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKES LIGHTS DID NOT ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCHED NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 96,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE. IN ADDITION, THE FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT BOTH OF THE FUEL TANK SENDING UNITS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN DRIVING A VERY SHORT DISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V122000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:SWITCHES:BRAKE LIGHT). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,500. UPDATED 04/27/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND THE ESC LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AT THE DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V122000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:SWITCHES:BRAKE LIGHT) DID NOT APPLY TO THE VEHICLE. THE SUNVISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BROKE; ON THE POST WHERE THE VISOR ATTACHES TO THE ROOF OF THE CAR. ONCE BROKEN IT COULD NOT BE SECURED OUT OF HARM'S WAY. THIS CAUSED THE VISOR TO HANG STRAIGHT DOWN BLOCKING THE DRIVER'S VIEW OF THE ROAD AND CREATING A VISION HAZARD. SECONDLY, THE VISOR THEN WAS FREE SWINGING, SO THAT IT COULD STRIKE THE DRIVER IN AN ACCIDENT OR JUST IN NORMAL DRIVING. I HAVE THE VISOR AND PICTURES DOCUMENTING THE BREAK SITE. *JS
AT APPROXIMATELY 90000 MILES, THE PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISOR WOULD NO LONGER STAY "UP". IT BEGAN HANGING DOWN, WITH THE WIRES EXPOSED. WE DID NOT TAKE IT TO A DEALER, BUT REMOVED THE VISOR. NOW, AT 150000 MILES, THE DRIVERS SIDE VISOR DID THE SAME THING WHILE DRIVING, IMPAIRING THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY. I HAD TO HOLD IT UP OUT MY VIEW UNTIL I ARRIVED HOME. *TR
ON FEBRUARY 23RD OF 2012 I RECEIVED A CLOCK SPRING REPLACEMENT THAT WAS UNDER CAMPAIGN 103-CLOCK SPRING REPLACEMENT TSB# 11-01-052 FOR 2007-2008 SANTA FE MODELS OR 2007-2008 VERACRUZ MODELS. MY HYUNDAI SANTA FE HAD 42,229 MILES ON IT AT THIS TIME. THE CAMPAIGN WAS PERFORMED REPLACING THE CLOCK SPRING WITH PART # 93490-2B300 AND PAID FOR UNDER WARRANTY AMOUNTING IN $0.00. HOWEVER, ON AUGUST 1ST OF 2013 THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE SAME REPLACEMENT WAS PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 56,985 MILES ON IT AND WAS SCANNED FOR CODES AND ACCORDING TO PAPERWORK, B1481 AND B1332 WERE FOUND, INDICATING THE FAILURE OF THE CLOCK SPRING. THE CLOCK SPRING PART # 93490-2B300 WAS THEREFORE REPLACED AGAIN AMOUNTING TO $282.92 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. MY OWN EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY NOW HAD TO PAY FOR THIS PART THAT IN MY EYES IS A VEHICLE SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE PROCEEDED WITH MUCH CONCERN. IN ONE YEAR A VERY IMPORTANT PART CONTINUED TO FAIL WHICH, IF NOT WORKING PROPERLY AT THE TIME OF AN ACCIDENT CAN CAUSE EXTREME HARM TO THE DRIVER. THIS PART SHOULDN'T BE FAILING IN MY EYES UNLESS THE AIR BAG HAS BEEN DEPLOYED. I DON'T SEE HOW THIS PART IS SAFE IF IT HAS FAILED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AFTER BEING REPLACED DUE TO A CAMPAIGN THAT WAS ISSUED BY THE HYUNDAI MANUFACTURER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MPH WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED TO RELEASE AFTER BEING DEPRESSED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE ALL-WEATHER FLOOR MATS (WEATHER TECH ALL WEATHER FLOOR MATS, PART NUMBER: W56) WERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 60,000.
FUEL GAUGE READINGS WENT ERRATIC WITHIN 1-2 MONTHS AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. GOOGLE SEARCHES SHOW LARGE NUMBER OF OTHER OWNERS OF 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FES HAVING SAME PROBLEM. CHECK LIGHT TURNS ON AND DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDICATING FUEL LEVEL SENSOR PROBLEM LATCHES. DRIVER CAN NO LONGER TELL HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN TANK AND BECOMES EXCESSIVELY DISTRACTED BY HAVING TO WATCH MILES DRIVEN AND WORRY ABOUT RUNNING OUT OF FUEL. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT OR QUALITY PROBLEM WITH THIS MANY OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME TROUBLE. HYUNDAI IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM NOR OFFERING ADEQUATE ASSISTANCE TO REMEDY IT. REPAIR OF PROBLEM TYPICALLY RUNS BETWEEN $550 AND $650. THAT HURTS WHEN WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. ALSO THERE IS NO ASSURANCE AT ALL THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WILL NOT FAIL IN THE SAME WAY IN 3-5 YEARS. THIS PROBLEM DOES CAUSE SAFETY CONCERNS. HARD TO DRIVE AS SAFELY WHEN PREOCCUPIED AND WORRIED ABOUT HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN TANK. WHEN DRIVER CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT, DRIVER HAS TO WORRY THAT OTHER FAILURES THAT TURN ON THE CHECK LIGHT WILL GO UNNOTICED BECAUSE CHECK LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON NOW AND ASSUMED TO JUST INDICATE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILURE. NOT GOOD! FOR SANITY I CARRY A SPARE 2 GALLON CAN OF GAS IN VEHICLE BUT IT IS NOT REAL SAFE TO CARRY GAS THAT WAY ALL THE TIME. *JS
OWNED VEHICLE SINCE NEW AND HAVE HAD ALL SERVICES PERFORMED. CURRENTLY 72,000 MILES. CAR HAS BEEN PLAGUED WITH CLUNKY, NOISY SUSPENSION PROBLEMS SINCE ABOUT 35,000 MILES. NOISES AND RIDE AT ALL SPEEDS ARE SO BAD THAT THIS HAS TO IMPACT POTENTIAL SAFETY. DEALERS HAVE REPLACED POWER STEERING RACK; PINION; P/S SWAY BAR; LINK ASSEMBLY; LOWER CONTROL ARM (2X); P/S FRONT STABILIZER LINK; L/F CONTROL ARM, BOLT AND NUT. NONE OF THE "FIXES" HAVE LASTED MORE THAN A FEW THOUSAND MILES, AND WE WERE RIGHT BACK TO WHERE WE WERE. WE ARE "EASY DRIVERS" WHO DO NO OFFROAD OR ROUGH ROAD DRIVING. WERE IT NOT FOR THESE ISSUES, THIS WOULD BE A "DECENT" SUV.

THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE ROLLED OVER TWICE, BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE TO TREAT A SHOULDER INJURY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDIA SANTA FE. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE TROUBLE CODE DETECTED THAT THE PODS ECU WAS FAULTY. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
AT APPROXIMATELY 5:45 LAST NIGHT, WHILE CHANGING LANES AND ACCELERATING FROM 35 TO 40 MPH, MY SANTA FE SUDDENLY FLOORED ITS OWN ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. TRIED TO 'FIGHT IT' WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT NOTHING WOULD RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR, INCLUDING PUMPING IT SLIGHTLY. THE WAY WE GOT THE CAR TO STOP WAS BY PUTTING ON THE PARKING BRAKE, PUSHING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND TRYING TO DOWNSHIFT THE CAR IN DRIVE (BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT LET US PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL). WHEN IT GOT SLOW ENOUGH (15 MPH OR SO), WE CUT THE ENGINE AND THE CAR SCREECHED TO A HALT, BURNING RUBBER SMELLING SURROUNDING US. ONLY THEN COULD WE PUT THE CAR INTO 'PARK'. ONCE WE RESTARTED THE CAR IT DID NOT DO THE ACCELERATION AGAIN. OUR DEALER IS PRETENDING THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE, THOUGH A VERY QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS VERY MUCH IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT THEY ARE IGNORING. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THEY ARE WAITING FOR DEATHS TO HAPPEN BEFORE ACTING ON THIS ISSUE AND FIXING IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS ADDRESSING IMMEDIATELY. *TR
HI, I TOOK MY CAR TODAY TO HYUNDAI OF WHITE PLAINS FOR "AIR BAG" WARNING CAMPAIGN "CAMP 103". THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME 119 USD FOR THIS. I AM TRIED TO CONTACT HYUNDAI AS I DID NOT GETS SATISFACTORY ANSWER WHEN I CALLED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER CONNECT. I BOUGHT THIS 2007 SANTA FE IN NOVEMBER, 2007. I TOOK GOOD CARE OF THE CAR AND HAD DONE ALL MAINTENANCE AT HYUNDAI DEALERS. SINCE THE SUMMER OF 2011 (CAR MILEAGE LESS THAN 48000 MILES), I FELT THE CAR HAD ABNORMAL NOISE FROM FRONT, ALSO FELT SUSPENSION BECAME BUMPY. SO I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER IN DECEMBER, 2011. THEY FOUND BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT SUSPENSION SWAY BAR LINKS WERE WORN OUT. THOSE PARTS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE WEAR PARTS. BUT HYUNDAI REFUSED TO ADMIT THEIR FAILURE WITHIN WARRANTY IS A QUALITY ISSUE. AS PART OF THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM, THEIR FAILURE COULD RESULT IN DANGEROUS SITUATION TO PEOPLE. I WANT THEM TO ADMIT THAT PART FAILURE AND RECALL IT. *TR
ESC OFF INDICATOR STAYS ILLUMINATED PROBLEM: NO BRAKE LIGHTS. DEALERSHIP STATES MY VEHICLE IS OUTSIDE THE MANUFACTURE DATE RANGE INCLUDED IN THE TSB CAMPAIGN # 092 / 09-01-018 AND WILL NOT REPLACE THE STOP LAMP SWITCH UNDER WARRANTY. (MY SANTA FE WAS MANUFACTURED IN JUNE 2007). APPROX. $75 REPLACEMENT COST FOR A KNOWN ISSUE. ACCORDING TO ONLINE FORUMS THIS PROBLEM IS NOT LIMITED TO THE MANUFACTURE DATES INDICATED IN THE TSB. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE; ONE THAT I WOULD HAVE HOPED HYUNDAI WOULD TAKE MORE SERIOUSLY. *TR
ESC OFF LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED WHEN VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED. BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T WORK (SEEM TO BE ALWAYS ON). I GOT THE PROBLEM CODE FROM THE VEHICLE, DID SOME RESEARCH, AND FOUND HYUNDAI CAMPAIGN 092 COVERED THESE CONDITIONS CAUSED BY A FAULTY STOP LAMP SWITCH. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI, AND THEY INFORMED ME MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED (JULY 2006) PRIOR TO THE RECALL DATE RANGE (WHICH STARTED IN OCT 2006), AND WOULD NOT BE REPLACED WITHOUT CHARGE BY A DEALER. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS WAS COVERED IN THE RECALL, AND HYUNDAI SHOULD BE LIABLE TO FIX IT! *TR
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) MALFUNCTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. DIAGNOSTIC SCAN INDICATED A BAD BRAKE LITE SWITCH. SAME SYMPTOMS AS NHTSA CAMPAIGN 09V122000 BUT HYUNDAI DEALER AND CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER CLAIM VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THIS CAMPAIGN. *TR
WE FLIPPED DOWN THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR AS USUAL AND ALWAYS TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE VEHICLE BUT THIS TIME YOU COULD HEAR IT CRACK. FROM THAT MOMENT ON WE WERE FIGHTING WITH IT WHILE DRIVING MANY TIMES. IT BECAME TO OSERIOUS OF A DRIVING HAZARD MIXED WITH A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY AS THE VISOR LIGHT WOULD STAY ON DUE TO THE WIRE INSULATION BREAKING THROUGH FROM WEAR DUE TO STRESS FROM THE WEIGHT OF THE HANGING VISOR AND REPEATEDLY FALLING. THIS SAME VISOR WAS A RECALL ON THE2007 HYUNDAI SONATA BUT NOT THE 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE??? WHY NOT??? *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V122000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:SWITCHES:BRAKE LIGHT). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
HAD A MALFUNCTIONING FUEL GAUGE. WHICH READ 1/4 TANK OF GAS, WITH AN EMPTY TANK. THIS HAPPENED AFTER THE GAUGE HAD BEEN JUMPING FROM FULL TO EMPTY A FEW TIMES. NOW THE CARS STEERING IS STARTING TO GO. THE CAR WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN PULL WHILE GOING AROUND A BANKING TURN, IN EITHER DIRECTION! ON TURNS THE ESC WILL CONSTANTLY GO OFF, EVEN ON TURNS IT NEVER USED TO HAPPEN ON. ALSO THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR HAS FALLEN OFF COMPLETELY. THE CAR ONLY HAS 88,000 MILES AND THIS ALL STARTED HAPPENING NOVEMBER 2011. EVERY TIME I BRING IT TO MY MECHANIC HE SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. WITH OUT ANY WARNING MY REAR BRAKES FAILED. I HAD TO APPLY AS MUCH BRAKE PEDAL AS I COULD TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AFTER THAT I KEPT MY SPEED DOWN TO A SPEED THAT I FEEL THAT I COULD STOP THE CAR SAFELY. A SHORT TIME AFTER THAT THE FRONT BRAKES STARTED SHUDDERING. I WAS HEADED FOR MY COTTAGE IN NORTH ONTARIO AT NIGHT WERE THERE ARE NO GARAGES SO I HAD TO HAVE PARTS SENT TO THAT LOCATION WERE I REPLACED THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. IF HAD TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP WITH THE BRAKES IN THAT CONDITION I WOULD HAVE SURELY HAD AN ACCIDENT. LUCKILY THE TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT. THE REAR BRAKE PAD WAS SO TIGHT IN THE CALIPER THAT I HAD TO HIT IT WITH A HAMMER TO FREE IT AND I HAD TO GRIND PART OF THE NEW PAD SO THAT IT WOULD FIT LOOSE IN THE CALIPER. I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT THE FRONT BREAKS HAD TO WORK SO HARD WITH NO BACK BREAKS THAT THE FRONT ROTOR WARPED FROM THE HEAT SINCE THEY WERE FINE UP TO THAT TIME. THIS IS DEFINITELY A DESIGN FLAW IN THE HYUNDAI BRAKES. THE FIT OF THE BRAKE PAD TO THE CALIPER IS TOO CLOSE AND THE SLIGHTEST AMOUNT OF RUST CAUSES THEM TO JAM. EVEN WITHOUT RUST THE NEW ROTORS WERE SO TIGHT THAT ANY GOOD MECHANIC WOULD NOT INSTALL THEM IN THAT CONDITION. THIS IS A SERIOUS FAULTS AND I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. HYUNDAI'S ANSWER IS TO PAY $ 200 EVERY YEAR AND HAVE THE BRAKES SERVICED. THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION SINCE THEY COULD SEIZE UP TO 6 MONTHS AFTER SERVICE THE WAY THE HYUNDAI BRAKE PARTS ARE RUSTING. BACK IN 2011, MY DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR FAILED (THE BRACKET BROKE AT THE ELBOW WHERE THE PLASTIC IS MOLDED AROUND THE BRACKET). IN LOOKING AT THE PART, I NOTED THAT THE QUALITY/GAUGE OF THE BRACKET WAS NOT VERY ROBUST. I WAS AN EMPLOYEE OF FIRST PRINCE AND THEN JOHNSON CONTROLS, AND AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH SUN VISORS AND THE BRACKETS THAT SUPPORT THEM. BASED ON MY OBSERVATIONS, THE DESIGN IS INFERIOR AND IS NOT ROBUST ENOUGH TO LAST THROUGH THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE. THE REASON I'M WRITING TO YOU NOW, IS THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE VISOR ALSO FAILED RECENTLY, WITH DAMAGE IN THE EXACT SAME AREA. I HAVE HAD THE TIRES ROTATED TO ENSURE THAT IT IS NOT A PARTICULAR TIRE. I HAVE HAD THE DEALER LOOK AT THE SUV, THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. ONCE I WAS IN AN HOV LANE IT ALMOST BROUGHT US TO A STOP WITH NO SHOULDERS TO GET THE CAR OUT OF TRAFFIC. THE HYUNDAI TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN STATES THAT DEALERS MUST PERFORM THIS CAMPAIGN ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES WHENEVER AN AFFECTED VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES FOR UNRELATED ISSUES SINCE 2009 BUT THIS REPAIR WAS NEVER MENTIONED, OFFERED OR PERFORMED. I FEEL THAT I AM DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND HYUNDAI IS AVOIDING A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
WIFE'S CAR-DRIVING ONE DAY AND NOTICED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON. TOOK TO DEALER. DEALER SAID IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE WHILE PART WAS ORDERED, WOULD NOT OFFER LOANER. CAME BACK AND HAD PART INSTALLED A WEEK-1/2 LATER, AFTER FINALLY GOT PART NOTICE IN MAIL. PART REPLACED-NO LIGHT ANYMORE. PROBLEM IS BACK AGAIN. CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE, BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE TOO CONCERNED. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FEA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, A CHILD SHIFTED THE GEAR SHIFTER FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A WALL. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED CONCERN BECAUSE SHE BELIEVED THE VEHICLES GEAR SHIFTER SHOULD NOT HAVE MOVED WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE STOP LAMP SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V122000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:SWITCHES:BRAKE LIGHT). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
