TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE ENGINE, IT TURNED OVER AND TOOK MORE THAN ONE ATTEMPT TO START. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE MAY NOT HAVE AN AUTHENTIC FUEL CAP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,600.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE HAD SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. VEHICLE WAS PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO THE LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP (CLERMONT, FL) . THERE WAS NO OIL SPILL OR LEAKS ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE ENGINE. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON INSIDE DASHBOARD. HOW DOES IT GO FROM RUNNING FINE, TO JUST GOING UP HILL AND HAVING LOSS OF POWER, MAKING NOISE AND WHEN TOWED TO THE GARAGE ENGINE IS BLOWN. 5 YEARS OLD CAR WITH 105000 MILES IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HOPE HYUNDAI DO THE CORRECT THING AND FIX IT . THE IS MORE THAN 233 COMPLAINS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM AND I DONT SEE THEN TAKING ACTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE INSPECTED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LESTER GLENN HYUNDAI (732-240-8833, LOCATED AT 386 RTE 37 E, TOMS RIVER, NJ 08753) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 114,000.
CLICKING SOUND IN STEERING COLUMN WHEN TURNING WHEEL. SOUND HAS GOTTEN LOUDER AND MORE FREQUENT WITH USAGE. THIS IS DURING NORMAL DRIVING/TURNING. OCCURANCES STARTED OUT ONLY OVER SEVERE BUMPS AND SHARP TURNS, NOW MUCH MORE FREQUENT OVER SMALL BUMPS AND SLIGHT TURNS, EVEN WHEN STATIONARY AND TURNING WHEEL. PER INTERNET COMPLAINT SITES, THE PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD. APPEARS TO BE A CHEAP PLASTIC COUPLING THAT IS FAILING. STARTED AT ABOUT 75000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE EQUIPPED WITH KUMHO SOLUS KL21 TIRES, SIZE: 235/55 R19 (NA). THE CONTACT PURCHASED FOUR NEW TIRES FROM THE KUMHO MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE HAD CRACKS AND TREAD SEPARATION. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT TIRE REPAIR FACILITY. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRES BOTH EXPERIENCED BLOW OUTS DUE TO THE CRACKS AND TREAD SEPARATION. THE CONTACT FURTHER STATED THAT WHEN ALL THREE TIRES FAILED, THE INNER TREAD WALLS WERE CRACKED WITH EXTENSIVE TREAD SEPARATION. THE REPLACEMENT REAR PASSENGER TIRE AND THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WERE TAKEN TO A TIRE FACILITY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES TO DETERMINE IF THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRES COULD BE REPLACED WITH TWO NEW TIRES. THE VIN, VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE, AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
I CAN HEAR LOUD CLUNKING SOUNDS FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS FASTER THAN 25 MPH.
STEERING COLUMN HAS STARTED TO MAKE NOISE WHEN GOING OVER LANE DIVIDERS AND OTHER BUMPS IN THE ROAD SOMETHING IS EITHER LOOSE OR BROKEN. STARTED AROUND 70,000 MILES. AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS (HERE) I'M TAKING IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR IMMEDIATELY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND PUSH IT OFF THE RAILROAD TRACK. THE CONTACT POWERED OFF THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE CONTACT CALLED ELYRIA HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 845 LEONA ST, ELYRIA, OH, 44035, (440) 324-770) AND WAS INFORMED THAT ALL THE RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE WERE COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL MADE AN ABNORMAL CLICKING NOISE AND SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL TIGHTLY TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LEGACY HYUNDAI (443 INDUSTRIAL BLVD, MCDONOUGH, GA 30253) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE ON FRIDAY, JUNE 29, 2018 IN MY 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE LIMITED 3.3L V6 AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEAR SOMETHING SIMILAR TO A SHOTGUN GOING OFF & MY CAR BEGAN TO STALL AND I NOTICED SMOKE & FLAMES FROM THE SIDEVIEW MIRRORS AS I COULDN'T SEE OUT OF THE REARVIEW MIRROR. LUCKILY NO ONE BEHIND ME WAS INJURED BEHIND ME SINCE ENGINE PARTS & SMOKE FROM THE OIL POURING OUT ON THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER ON THE EXIT RAMP I NOTICED MY VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE & LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. I CALLED A WRECKER SERVICE & UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I NOTICED A BIG GAPING HOLE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP CRENSHAW HYUNDAI ON JULY 3, WHERE IT HAS REMAINED & NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME SINCE. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS & HAVE MET WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO ADVISED ME THAT HYUNDAI INSTRUCTED HIS TEAM TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE FOR NEGLIGENCE ON MY BEHALF WHICH THEY DID NOT FIND AND WAS BACKED UP BY ALL SERVICE RECORDS.
INTERIOR LIGHTS, PHONE, RADIO AND DASH LIGHTS TURN ON BY THEM SELVES WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY OR BACK ROADS.EVEN IF I DON?T HAVE ANY ELECTRONICS WITH ME. THE MOBILE PHONE WORKED TWO TIMES IN 2 YRS. THEN IT HAS NOT WORKED AGAIN, THE LIGHTS MIGHT LIGHT BUT NO CONNECTION OCCURS.ALSO- THE AIR CONDITIONER SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY 70 MPH OR 40 MPH OR CRUISING ON A BACK ROAD. I WAS IN GEORGIA WITH MY TWO PREMATURE TWINS THE TEMPERATURE WAS 101 AND NO AIR! I HAD TO STOP EVERY FEW MINUTES, TURN OFF THE CAR, WAIT THEN TURN IT ON AGAIN. I MAY ONLY GET 10 MILES AND I WOULD HAVE TO STOP AGAIN. I HAD TO MAKE UNEXPECTED HOTEL RESERVATIONS AND LEFT THE CAR AT A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR 2 DAYS TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIX IT. THEY WERE NOT ABLE THEY COULDN?T FIND THE PROBLEM. WE STARTED BACK HOME A 500 MILE TRIP IN 101 DEGREE. WITH 2 PREMATURE BABIES NO LESS THAN 5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD.... IT STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN! THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER OF MY 2003 SANTA FE. I ASSUMED IT MUST HAVE BEEN A FLUKE...OBVIOUSLY NOT! BECAUSE SADLY HERE I AM AGAIN! O don’t appreciate someone activating my vin the same day the remedy comes out on compaign , this had been ongoing battle since 2018 when it states on the website they will replace the engine , when it had a theta engine settlement but thanks to the bearus exposures if info n loss of employee, employment data missing ti why I get denials the Chinese that infiltrated Equifax this vehicle was manufactured out of Georgia issues with dealer m notifying corporate when violation of the fair credit reporting act , off cc reports tampering with my insurance policy n these POs place there names in my policy in 2018 loss of years off n on of employment , medical n o gotta stew L pay to detain a pos car I absolutely love until they destroyed my life , nice to find a pos male in my medical records when it’s fraud , n I gotta fight every aspect of everything when I’ve been deprived hacked n comprised no data available on this vehicle hmmm , fishy to me , whew Did I spent most my time at work, home , or the dam Library this is a violation of the law privacy , national public data exposure of brokers my social , not only that my primary email was connected to blue link Hyundai n that email been hacked n comprised n I gave not been able to access shows it.connected To my old Facebook n my old cell phone orginal do not call.gov if your in violation of the Law , consumer im cheating and stealing I can’t get anywhere but why would they remove phone numbers n documents n numbers are there n etc n why would those POs put it under my alias not what’s in my drivers license now im getting identity fraud false reporting info mix n match bs tell that transgender I will hunt him down in association with this abuse I have a whole case file it will only allowed me three uploads

UNIVERSAL JOINT IN STEERING COLUMN IS LOOSE, CAUSING PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL. HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING OR STATIONARY.
VEHICLE CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING 34 MPH IN THE CITY AND VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING AND THEN IT CUT OFF. THIS ISSUE ALMOST CAUSED ME MAJOR ACCIDENT
TIRES WORE PREMATURE AND IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE FRONT LEFT HUB BEARING AT 41696 MILES.WE HAD BEEN HEARING A THUMPING NOISE AND IT SLOWLY WORSENED OVER TIME. TOOK IT BACK FOR ANOTHER NOISE IN THE REAR END. HYUNDAI DETERMINED IT TO BE THE COUPLER AND AXLES THAT HAD FAILED. SERVICE PERSON SAID IT COULD HAVE LOCKED UP AND CAUSED FURTHER DAMAGE. ALSO THE UPPER AND LOWER AC LINES WENT BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SERVICE PERSON SAID WE HAVE BEEN GETTING THREE TO FIVE A WEEK.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE REPAIRS, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT METAL SHAVINGS WERE IN THE OIL PAN. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY HYUNDAI CUSTOMER CARE THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE COVERED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 11192092. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

EVERY 4MONTHS I HAVE TO REPLACE MY ROTATOR AND BREAKS ON THE FRONT LEFT SIDE AND RIGHT SIDE AND ON THE BACK LEFT SIDE AND RIGHT SIDE. I'VE HAD MY SUV FOR 2 YEARS AND 7MONTHS. STEERING / SUSPENSION. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW ON 01.09.2014 OUT OF THE SHOWROOM. ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS LATER, I STARTED TO NOTICE THE STEERING AND ROUGH RIDE. THE STEERING WAS LIKE A VEHICLE WITH "JIMMY LEGS" LOOSE AND ALL OVER THE ROAD. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET CHECKED OUT. FIRST THING IT WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT ON THE FRONT END (LEFT TOE -0.10D, RIGHT TOE -0.09D). THEY CHECKED THE SUSPENSION AND TOLD ME THAT THE COMPONENTS WERE GOOD WITH NO DAMAGE OR WEAR INCLUDING THE STRUTS. I TOLD THEM OF HOW ROUGH THE RIDE IS DRIVING AT VARIABLE SPEEDS ON THE LOCAL ROADS. EVER SINCE, I HAVE HAD 5 ALIGNMENTS AND STILL HAVE THE SAME HANDLING AND STEERING PROBLEMS. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO SEARS TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT CHECKED AND WAS TOLD THE LEFT FRONT WAS OUT BY -0.07D. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I WAS THE 6TH PERSON WITH THE SAME MODEL VEHICLE TO COME IN THERE IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. HE STATED THAT THE REASON FOR THE ISSUES ARE COMING FROM THE ELECTRONIC STEERING MODULE. WHEN YOU ADJUST THE STEERING WHEEL TO ON OF THE THREE SETTINGS (NORMAL, COMFORT, SPORT), IT CAUSES THE FRONT ALIGNMENT OUT. THIS TO ME SOUNDS LIKE A DESIGN FLAW AND HYUNDAI DOES NOT WANT TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. I JUST GET TIRED EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP OF BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM, IT IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSE TO RIDE LIKE THAT DUE TO THAT IT IS NOT A CAR. I WAS AT HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP ON 06/FEB/18, AND THAT IS WHAT THEY TOLD ME BUT I HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $89.95 FOR AN ALIGNMENT AGAIN, LEFT FRONT WAS OUT (TOE -0.15D) RIGHT FRONT WAS OUT (TOE -0.18D). I WAS TOLD THAT THE STRUTS AND SUSPENSION WAS OK, BUT COULD BE THE TIRES. I HAVE 29,374 MILES ON IT AND I AM GETTING TIRED OF HAVING TO BRING IT IN TO HAVE THE SAME WORK DONE AND BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE ALL PAPERWORK TO USE TO SHOW THE ALIGNMENTS THAT WERE DONE.
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO WORK AND THE ENGINE STOPS AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS ARE ON. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT EVEN TURN OVER LET ALONE START. I HAD AAA TOW THE VEHICLE TO MY HOUSE AND AFTER PUTTING A WRENCH ON THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY BOLT AND PHYSICALLY TRYING TO TURN THE MOTOR OVER I REALIZED THE MOTOR IS SEIZED. I HAD NOTICED AFTER DRAINING MY OIL DURING ALL THE PRIOR OIL CHANGES, THE VEHICLE WAS LOSING OIL. THERE IS NO SIGNS OF THE ENGINE LEAKING OIL EXTERNALLY SO IT HAS TO BE AN INTERNAL MALFUNCTION ON THE ENGINE. KNOWING THIS I WOULD CHECK AND ADD OIL AS NEEDED BETWEEN Y OIL CHANGES. THE ENGINE HAD PLENTY OF OIL BEFORE AND AFTER THE ENGINE FAILED. SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH MY ENGINE FROM DAY ONE FROM THE FACTORY. I GUARANTEE THIS ENGINE FAILED BECAUSE OF THE FACTORY THAT ASSEMBLED THE ENGINE.
MY STEERING WHEEL CLUNKS WHEN TURNING, REGARDLESS OF IF IT IS STATIONARY OR MOVING. WAS TOLD IT BY THE DEALER IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH SOME STEERING WHEEL COUPLER AND WOULD BE $1,500 OUT-OF-POCKET TO FIX.
ENGINE APPEARS TO HESITATE WHEN TAKING OFF FROM STOP. SEVERITY SEEMS TO DIFFER FROM DAY TO DAY. ISSUE RAISED AT DEALER WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN FOR RECALL AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG.

STEERING LOCKS, DOESN'T RECENTER EXCEPT WITH MANUAL HUMAN FORCED CORRECTION AS THOUGH THE WHEELS WERE STUCK IN A RUT (THEY AREN'T). HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE 2D YEAR OF VEHICLE OWNERSHIP. NOT CONSISTENT. PROBLEM DISSIPATED AFTER BATTERY FAILED AND WAS REPLACED IN 3RD YEAR. UNKNOWN IF THERE IS A CORRELATION. STEERING PROBLEM HAS RECENTLY RETURNED. ON INTERSTATE WHERE MANY MINOR COURSE CORRECTIONS ARE MADE TO STAY IN LANE, GETS VERY BURDENSOME AND WEARYING ON LONG TRIPS. SEEMS TO HAPPEN AT 15MPH AND UP. NOT NOTICEABLE AT SLOWER SPEEDS. WAS REPORTED TO AUTHORIZED HYUNDAI DEALER IN 2015. NO ACTION TAKEN.
WHILE DRIVING ON I-95 ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER CAR, THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. BARELY MANAGED TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER. AFTER BEING TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, DEALER INFORMED US THE NEXT DAY THAT THE ENGINE WAS BLOWN AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE BECAUSE WE HAD THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT A WEEK PRIOR FOR THEM TO "CHECK" IT! THEREIN LIES MY COMPLAINT - I QUESTION WHETHER HYUNDAI'S PROCEDURES FOR THIS RECALL ARE ADEQUATE. ALTHOUGH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENGINE WILL PROBABLY BE COVERED BY WARRANTY/RECALL (WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION YET), MY SAFETY WAS UNNECESSARILY JEOPARDIZED. THE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS FAILED TO FUNCTION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. IN ADDITION, THE POWER LOCKS RANDOMLY LOCKED AND UNLOCKED. WHEN THE CONTACT LOCKED THE DOORS, THE POWER LOCKS FAILED TO FUNCTION OCCASIONALLY WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CONTACT WAS TO CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
