DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AND CAR STALL ON FREEWAY DOING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC CAR DIED COULD NOT MOVE GEAR SELECTOR FONDLING WITH KEY BEFORE IT STARTED WAS FOLLOWED BY A POLICE UNTIL OUT OF DANGER, HAD IT TESTED AT FIRESTONE AUTO REPAIR NO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WAS FOUND
MY CAR HAS ACCELERATED AT LEAST 10 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS WHEN YOU PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE CAR BOLTS FORWARD AND KEEP GOING. IT IS A INTERMIT PROBLEM AND LAST TIME I ALMOST GOT SERIOUSLY HURT. THE CAR WON'T STOP WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKES. IT HAPPENS DRIVING AND PARKING.
TODAY THE THIRD DOOR HANDLE HAS BROKEN ON MY HYUNDAI SONATA IN SIX YEAR. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAKE AND MODEL.
I WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC ON I-4 IN FLORIDA AND A GMC PICKUP TRUCK HIT ME IN THE REAR OF MY CAR A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE GMC TRUCK WAS GOING 70-78 MPH WHEN IT HIT ME. NONE OF MY SIDE OR ANY OF MY AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AS THEY SHOULD HAVE. IT HAPPENED ON 12/23/16. YOUR LOWER DATE CODE WOULDN'T LET ME INSERT THIS DATE. SUPER GOVERNMENT TECHNOLOGY.
ON 12/2016 MY PASSENGER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE WHILE LOADING MY VEHICLE AT SAMS CLUB. ON 11/2017 MY DRIVER SIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE AS I WAS GETTING IT FOR WORK. THIS MEANT I NEEDED TO CLIMB INTO THE DRIVER'S SEAT FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR. I DID GET IT FIX PAYING $170 FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE AND ALSO A RENTAL CAR. I STILL NEED TO FIX THE PASSENGER SIDE. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE EMS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET INTO MY CAR THUS MAKING THE BROKEN HANDLES A SAFETY ISSUE.
THE DOOR HANDLES KEEP BREAKING OFF. TWO YEARS AGO THE THE BACK PASSANGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE CAME OFF IN MY HAND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION, THERE WAS NO SNAPPING SOUND JUST A DOOR HANDLE NOT ATTACHED TO THE DOOR. WE PAID OUT OF POCKET AND GOT THIS FIXED SINCE IT IS UNSAFE SINCE EMERGENCY HELP WOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE BACK SEAT IF THE PASSENGERS WERE INCAPACITATED. THEN TODAY THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE CAME OFF IN MY HAND WITHOUT ANY WARNING. WE ARE ONCE AGAIN GOING TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE THIS FIXED SINCE IT IS UNSAFE IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY RESPONDERS WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO ANYONE IN THE BACK SEAT, INCLUDING CHILDREN. EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS NOT USED (BARELY ANY PRESSURE WAS USED), NO SOUNDS ACCOMPANIED THE BREAKAGE, AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE DOOR PREVIOUSLY. THERE WAS NO LEGITIMATE REASON FOR THE DOOR HANDLES TO BREAK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO USE THE DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE, THE CHROME SPLIT AND CREATED TWO RAZOR SHARP EDGES. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT HAD THREE LACERATIONS ON HIS POINTER FINGER, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,007.
OK, I AM ANOTHER 2010 SONATA OWNER WITH REPEATED DOOR HANDLE BREAKING AND DETACHING FROM THE CAR ISSUE. MY UNCLE OWNED THE CAR SINCE NEW AND GAVE IT TO ME ON 11/9/15. WHILE HIS, HE HAD TO REPLACE 3 DOOR HANDLES, ONE OF WHICH WAS THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. YESTERDAY, (10/15/16) THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE BROKE OFF AGAIN. ORIGINALLY, ALL THE HANDLE BREAKS WERE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, INCLUDING THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE. NOW, THE CAR HAS 81,182 MILES ON IT. BUT IT SHOULD BE COVERED BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN REPLACED BEFORE. YOU ARE AWARE, THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HYUNDAI SHOULD BE MADE TO RECALL ALL THESE CARS AND RECTIFY THIS ONGOING ISSUE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE INDEED. IN A CRASH, EMERGENCY PERSONNEL COULD NOT ENTER THE CAR, SHOULD IT BE ON IT'S SIDE AND THE EXPOSED DOORS HAVE BROKEN HANDLES. THERE ARE COMPLAINTS ON HERE CITING 2 OR MORE HANDLES BROKEN AT THE SAME TIME. MY UNCLE IS SINGLE AND SO AM I. THE PASSENGER DOORS ON THIS CAR ARE NOT, HAVE NOT, BEEN USED THAT OFTEN AS I SELDOM HAVE PASSENGERS. IT IS UNSPEAKABLE THAT HYUNDAI SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. AGAIN THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT DENIES ENTRANCE TO THE CAR IN AN EMERGENCY. PLEASE DO NOT TURN A DEAF EAR TO THOUSANDS OF CAR OWNERS WITH THIS CONCERN. THANK, YOU
WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY OVER EVERYTHING COMES ON AND EVERYTHING WORKS EXCEPT THE STARTER. I HAVE REPLACED 3 STARTERS AND THE CAR DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 103,000 MILES ON IT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF OUTSIDE OF THE STORE. I CAME BACK OUT TURNED THE KEY AND NOTHING. I WAS STRANDED AGAIN! I'M THINKING IT'S SOMETHING ELSE.

NOW 10/16 REAR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE BROKE.... THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED OR FIXED BY DEALER NO CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN AND RARELY EVEN USE BACK DOOR THE PLASTIC IS CHEAP AND CRUMBLES. DEALER WANT $250 TO FIX . THIS NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED WITHOUT CHARGE OR START USING BETTER QUALITY PARTS
ALL OF MY DOOR HANDLES ARE DEFECTED NOW THE OTHER 2 IN THE BACK DOOR CAME OFF BROKEN FROM THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR
EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN 6 TIMES ON SEVERAL DOORS. HHTSA MAY FEEL THIS IS COSMETIC BUT EMERGENCY PERSONAL MAY HAVE DIFFICULTY MAKING ENTRY IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC, HE SEES THIS IN MORE 2010 HYUNDAI'S THAN ANY OTHER VEHICLE. SIMPLE WEB SEARCH FOUND 100S OF OTHER COMPLAINTS. AT ONE POINT, 3 OF 4 OF MY HANDLES WERE BROKE AT ONCE. AVERAGE PRICE TO FIX ONE DOOR IS $250. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS!
I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE LOWER STEERING COUPLER BUSHING ON MY 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND I SEE THAT MY YEAR MODEL CAR IS NOT HE ONLY CAR MADE BY HUNDAI(KIA ARE ALSO BEING REPORTED TO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM). IT APPEARS THIS PART IS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC, AND THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS GONE THROUGH SEVERAL REVISIONS DUE TO IT NOT HOLDING UP TO THE RIGORS OF IT'S JOB. THIS PLASTIC PART COSTS UNDER <$10, BUT THE LABOR COST OF REPLACING THIS IS IN EXCESS OF $200. YOU WOULD THINK THAT ANY CRITICAL PART OF THE STEERING MECHANISM WOULD BE MADE OF A MATERIAL THAT WOULD LAST LONGER. DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THIS PLASTIC PIECE, A THUDDING NOISE CAN BE HEARD WHEN MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN THE CAR IS NOT ON. I DON'T KNOW WHAT OTHER POSSIBLE PROBLEMS MAY OCCUR IF THIS ITEM WERE TO FAIL WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING.
MY 2010 HYUNDAI SONOTA'S DOOR HANDLES BROKE AND WERE REPLACED ON THE PASSENGERS FRONT AND REAR SIDE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER A FEW DAYS BEFORE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THEY TOLD US THEY WERE GIVEN A VOUCHER FROM HYUNDAI TO REPLACE THE HANDLES AND THIS WAS DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE A THIRD DOOR HANDLE BROKE ON THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE. THE DEALER WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS FOR THE THIRD HANDLE. WHILE TRYING TO RESOLVE THE THIRD HANDLE BREAKAGE, A FOURTH HANDLE BROKE ON THE PASSENGERS FRONT DOOR. NOTE THAT THIS PASSENGERS FRONT DOOR HANDLE WAS REPLACED 5 MONTHS AGO AT THE DEALER. I WOULD LIKE THESE HANDLES LOOKED INTO AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WOULD LIKE A RECALL TO FIX THESE HAZARDOUS DOOR HANDLES. I HAVE A SMALL CHILD IN A CAR SEAT AND NEED TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR TO GET THEM OUT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER AND DRIVER DOORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY ALIGNMENT AND MY TIRES HAVE BEEN WEARING INCREDIBLY UNEVENLY. WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR WILL SHAKE VIOLENTLY. I WAS ADVISED TO REALIGN AGAIN SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND MY TIRES CONTINUE TO BE DESTROYED AND MY CAR CONTRIBUTES TO SHAKE. TODAY WHEN MY POWER STEERING WAS BEING REPLACED FOR AN OPEN RECALL I WAS ADVISED UPON PICK UP THAT MY STEERING COUPLER HAS GONE BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE (NEVER MIND THAT I WAS INFORMED OF THIS ISSUE AFTER MY STEERING COLUMN WAS REASSEMBLED SO I HAVE TO PAY LABOR FOR THEM TO PULL THE ENTIRE UNIT AGAIN!). I'VE READ MANY COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO THIS ONLINE REGARDING BAD COUPLERS AND SHAKING CARS RUINING TIRES. I WAS ADVISED THAT IF IT BREAKS FURTHER MY CAR WILL LIKELY SWERVE INTO ANOTHER LANE OF TRAFFIC AND BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER.
BODY HAS RUSTED THRU ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS ON MY CAR. BOTH REAR DOORS RUSTED BEYOND REPAIR, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BOTH FRONT DOORS RUSTED THRU AND WERE REPAIRED. NOW RUST HOLE DEVELOPED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IN AREA OF HOOD HINGE. THIS IS A STRUCTURALLY REINFORCED AREA OF THE CAR BUT ONLY A PATCH WAS PUT OVER RUST HOLE TO MAKE REPAIR. THIS WORK WAS ALL DONE UNDER WARRANTY. I CONTEND THAT THE LAST REPAIR WAS NOT PROPERLY DONE, AND THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE. HYUNDAI DENIES MY CLAIM. THE CAR WAS LOOKED AT BY THE DEALERS OWN BODY SHOP AND THEY CLAIM THAT THE AREA UNDER THE DASHBOARD IS ALL RUSTED AND WILL COST NEARLY $10000 TO REPAIR. HYUNDAI CLAIMS THE CAR IS NOT DEFECTIVE, EVEN THOUGHT THERE ARE INTERNAL SPOTS WHERE NO COATINGS WERE APPLIED TO THE STEEL. I CONTEST THAT THE COMPANY IS ONLY PROTECTING THEMSELVES AND HAVE FULL KNOWLEDGE THAT THE CAR IS DEFECTIVE. THE WARRANTY WILL EXPIRE SHORTLY AND THEN , THEY WILL BE OFF THE HOOK FOR ANY FUTURE REPAIRS CAUSED BY THEIR NEGLIGENCE WHILE ASSEMBLING THEIR VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AT COASTAL HYUNDAI, WHICH ALSO OWNS COCOA HYUNDAI.
THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT ABOUT MY FUEL PUMP. WHICH WAS REPLACED LAST YEAR. AGAIN ON 8/2/16 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY 495 SOUTH TOWARD RICHMOND VA . I WAS DRIVING 60MPH. WHEN MY CAR SHUT DOWN. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED TRYING TO MOVE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE POHANIKA HYUNDA DEALERSHIP IN CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD. THE SAME PLACE I HAD MY FUEL PUMP REPLACED LAST YEAR. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT HAPPEN TO ANOTHER CAR. I SUSPECT IT WAS A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP. AFTER I COMPLAIN, THE DEALERSHIP STATES THEY WILL REPLACE THE PART AND NOT CHARGE ME, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $375.00 FOR THE LABOR. I COMPLAIN TO MANAGEMENT AND THEY SAY THEY WOULD PAY FOR HALF THE LABOR. THE REASON I'M WRITING THIS LETTER, BECAUSE IF THERE IS A DEFECTIVE PART, I DON'T WANT SOMEONE TO BE HURT OR KILL BEHIND THE WHEEL, BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE PART. I HAD FILE A COMPLAINT WITH YOUR AGENCY LAST YEAR WITH NO RESPONSE. I ALSO CONTACT HYUNDAI COSTUMER SERVICE AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
CAR PURCHASED JUNE 2016. 17,000 MI. THREE MONTHS LATER THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF. WITHIN SIX MONTHS THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE HANDLE FELL OFF THEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF. THIS HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. HYUNDAI WANTS $350.00 FOR EACH HANDLE. I CAN NO LONGER HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY CAR IT IS UNSAFE. MY FEAR IS MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE WILL FALL OFF. I AM 70 AND TOO OLD TO CLIMB THRU THE TRUNK. IF THIS ISN'T A RECALL IT SHOULD BE. I CAN FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB IF NECESSARY. THE CAR WAS PARKED WHEN THE HANDLES FELL OFF.
4 OF MY DOOR HANDLES HAVE FALLEN OFF. I HAVE HAD 3 REPLACED WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE 4TH DRIVER DOOR THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAD TO USE A ZIP TIE TO OPEN THE DOOR TO GET IN IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR SEIZED DUE TO LACK OF OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
WHENEVER FILLING GAS, I WOULD USE A AUTOMATIC CUT-OFF IN FUEL DISPENSER LOCK. BUT THE LOCK IS ALWAYS RELEASED AFTER THE POINT OF RELEASE ALLOWING GAS TO OVERFILL AND WOULD CAUSE GAS TO SPREAD ON SIDE OF VEHICLE AS WELL AS ON THE FLOOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED REGARDLESS OF THE GAS STATION PUMP.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF, TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY CLAIM THE SENSOR IN THE SEAT HAS GONE BAD AND COST $675 TO REPLACE IT AND ALSO I HAD TO PAY $90 JUST TO DIAGNOSE IT, THIS SHOULD NOT BE RIGHT ON A 5 YEAR OLD CAR, I HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE FROM CAR OWNERS- I HAVE NOT REPLACED PART YET AS I FEEL HYUNDAI SHOULD DO IT FOR FREE- AND BTW THERE HAVE BEEN 11 RECALLS ON THIS CAR SO FAR THAT I HAVE HAD TO HAVE DONE- PLEASE PUT PRESSURE ON THEM TO RECALL 2010-2011 SONATAS TO FIX THE ISSUE

THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THIS ISSUE WAS INHERENT TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

SEVERAL DAYS LATER, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE HANDLES WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,000.
AFTER READING SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE HANDLES BREAKING ON THE 2010 SONATA I TOO AM FILING A COMPLAINT. SO FAR WE HAVE HAD 2 DOOR HANDLES BREAK WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR TO LOAD/ AND UNLOAD GROCERIES. THE FIRST ONE WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER AND NOW WE FACE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN. I FEEL THERE IS A STRUCTURAL DEFECT WITH THE MATERIALS THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO SO MANY PEOPLE AND HYUNDAI NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS AND FIX PEOPLES FAILING EQUIPMENT/ HANDLES AT NO EXPENSE TO THE OWNERS.
WITHIN A PERIOD OF ABOUT 6 MONTHS, THREE OF THE FOUR DOOR HANDLES HAVE FALLEN OFF, INCLUDING TWO THAT CAME OFF WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF EACH OTHER. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. THE HANDLES HADN'T BEEN PREVIOUSLY DAMAGED OR INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENTS, AND WE DON'T TREAT THEM ROUGHLY. THE HANDLES HAVE FALLEN OFF THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AND BOTH REAR DOORS. THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS ALMOST NEVER USED, SO I'M DISINCLINED TO ATTRIBUTE THE PROBLEM TO WEAR AND TEAR. WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE CAME OFF, THE PLASTIC SNAPPED APART. WE PAID TO HAVE THAT HANDLE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE REAR DRIVER DOOR HANDLE, WHICH CAME OFF TWO WEEKS AGO, REMAINED INTACT, BUT A TRIANGULAR METAL PIECE CAME OUT WHEN THE HANDLE FELL AWAY. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE CAME OFF TODAY WHEN MY HUSBAND HAD THE CAR, SO I HAVEN'T SEEN ITS CONDITION. SINCE HIS KEY FOB NO LONGER WORKS, HE NOW HAS TO GET INTO THE CAR IS BY CLIMBING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. GIVEN THAT WE'VE LOST THREE HANDLES IN SO SHORT A TIME, IT APPEARS THE PARTS ARE INFERIOR AND HAVE REACHED THE END OF THEIR LIFE.

AFTER COMING TO A STOP AND PUMPING THE PEDAL - THE BRAKES SEEMED TO RESPOND BUT THEN THE SAME ISSUE REPEATED - HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AND DISCOVERED THAT THE CALIPERS HAD FROZEN ON BOTH REAR WHEELS (WHEELS WOULD NOT TURN FREELY BY HAND WHEN CAR WAS ON LIFT) AND THE FRONT RIGHT CALIPER WAS BECOMING TIGHT AS WELL. REPAIR INVOLVES NEW CALIPERS, ROTORS AND PADS FOR ALL 4 WHEELS.

WHEN DRIVING OVER UNEVEN ROAD, POTHOLES, BUMPY ROADS, ETC., BOTH FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM, EMITS A RUMBLING, KNOCKING, LIKE A LOSE PART SOUND. ON THE HIGHWAY IT SOMETIMES CAR BECOMES UN-STABLE, AND LOSES CONTROL. CAR IS ONLY 21,000 MILES, SUSPENSION SEEMS LIKE AN OLD 100,000 MILES CAR. NOW THIS EVENING I OPENED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR TO TAKE GROCERY'S OUT OF THE CAR AND THE DOOR OPENED. HOWEVER WHEN I WENT TO CLOSE THE DOOR I NOTICED THAT THE HANDLE WAS PROTRUDING. I TOOK A CLOSER LOOK AND ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR. THERE IS TOO MUCH MOVEMENT IN THE DOOR HANDLE AND IT IS NOT OPENING THE DOOR. I NOW HAVE 3 DOORS THAT ARE NOT USABLE. I AM DISABLED AND IT IS GOING TO MAKE LIFE VERY DIFFICULT TO PUT GROCERIES AND OTHER ITEMS IN THE CAR. A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD SOMEONE NEED TO GET INTO THE CAR QUICKLY. NO EXCUSE FOR SUCH SHODDY MATERIALS/ENGINEERING DESIGN.

ON 12/30/2015, THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT ON MY 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA WENT ON. I TOOK THE CAR ON 12/31/2015 TO DISCOUNT TIRE FOR THE TIRES TO BE CHECKED. THE TECH DISCOVERED THE SIDEWALLS ON ALL 4 TIRES WERE SEVERELY CRACKED. THE FRONT TIRE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAD A 5-6" LONG CRACK WHICH WAS A 1/2" DEEP. THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE HAD A V SHAPED CRACK APPROX. 2" LONG ON EACH SIDE AND APPROX. 1/4" DEEP. BOTH OF THE REAR TIRES HAD VISIBLE CRACKS. THE TECH SAID IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR & ALL 4 TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRES ARE THE ORIGINAL MICHELIN ENERGY MXV4 S8 RADIAL SXE P215/60/R16-94V THAT CAME WITH THE CAR, WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW. I HAVE ONLY 33,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND ALL 4 TIRES HAVE PLENTY OF TREAD LEFT AND SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THERE CURRENTLY IS NOT & NEVER HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THESE TIRES. HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN APPROX. 46 COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE ALONE FOR THE SAME ISSUE THAT I AM CURRENTLY HAVING. THERE WERE DESCRIPTIONS ON THIS SITE OF DANGEROUS INCIDENTS THAT HAD HAPPENED ON HIGHWAYS, LOCAL STREETS, ETC. SITTING BLOWOUTS FOR NO APPARENT REASON THAT WERE CAUSED BY THE DEFECT IN THIS PARTICULAR TIRE. THESE COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED ON YOUR SITE STARTING IN APRIL 2003 & ARE STILL CURRENTLY HAPPENING. BACK REAR BRAKES HAVE NEEDED CONSTANT REPLACING SINCE THE FIRST REPLACEMENT IN 2013 AT 41,658 MILES---REAR PADS AND ROTARS. EIGHT MOS. LATER AT 48,900, REPLACED THE REAR ROTARS AND PADS AGAIN. TWO WEEKS LATER AT 49,247, REPLACED REAR LEFT FLEX BRAKE HOSE AND CALIPER, AND DEGLAZED PADS AND ROTARS. SIX MONTHS LATER AT 56,199, THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE WAS METAL TO METAL AND BINDING--REPLACED RIGHT REAR CALIPER, ROTAR, AND PADS. TODAY, DEC. 29, 2015, WITH MILEAGE AT 67,950, HAD TO FIX THE BACK LEFT BRAKES WHICH EMITTED A TERRIBLE BURNING SMELL WHEN USED. THE MECHANIC REPLACED, UNDER WARRANTY, THE WHOLE BACK SET OF BRAKES (ROTARS, CALIPERS, PADS). THE LUG NUTS AND STUDS WERE ALL SEIZED UP FROM THE HEAT OF THE LEFT REAR BRAKE FAILURE AND HAD TO BE FORCIBLY REMOVED AND REPLACED BY THE MECHANIC. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG WITH THE BACK REAR BRAKES OF THIS CAR, AND THESE BRAKE FAILURES SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING WITH SO LITTLE MILEAGE PUT ON THE BRAKES BETWEEN REPAIRS.
THE ESC OFF LIGHT COMES ON WHILE I AM DRIVING. WHEN THE LIGHT IS NOT ON, THE CAR DRIVES FINE. ONCE IT COMES ON, IT JUMPS EVERY TIME THE CAR SWITCHES GEARS OR STOPS ACCELERATING IF MY FOOT IS ON THE GAS. HE FELL ASLEEP DRIVING HOME ONE NIGHT AND HIT A GUARDRAIL WITH THE LEFT FRONT PANEL. THE CAR CONTINUED TO SLAM INTO THE GUARDRAIL ALL THE WAY DOWN THE LEFT SIDE. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED! FOUR DAYS AGO, WHILE DRIVING A 2009 HYUNDAI SONATA, HE SLID ON WET PAVEMENT AND WENT DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. HE HIT A LARGE ROCK PROTRUDING FROM THE GROUND CAUSING THE CAR TO FLIP ONTO ITS ROOF. IT CONTINUED TO SLIDE DOWNHILL UNTIL IT FINALLY CAME TO A STOP UPSIDE DOWN. AGAIN, NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYED! BY THE GRACE OF GOD MY SON WALKED AWAY FROM BOTH ACCIDENTS WITH ONLY MINOR INJURIES. I AM CONCERNED THAT BOTH THESE VEHICLES HAVE SIGNIFICANT AIRBAG PROTECTION BUT WHEN IT WAS NEEDED, THEY DID NOT DEPLOY. I AM CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE ELSE MAY NOT BE AS LUCKY AS MY SON WAS.

GLOBAL AUTO MALL TOLD US THE DOOR HANDLE WAS NOT A COVERED PART OF THE WARRANTY! MOREOVER, THEY HAD TO SEND THE DOOR HANDLE OUT FOR A PAINTING JOB. SO WE HAD TO MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER'S REPAIR DEPARTMENT TO HAVE IT FIXED.

ALL HANDLES BROKE WHEN THE DOOR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WERE BROKEN DURING THE PAST 6 MONTHS. THE CAR HAS 80,000 MILES.
