THIS HAS HAPPENED TO AT LEAST 3 HYUNDAI SONATA 2010 AUTOS OF PEOPLE I KNOW. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR TO ENTER THE CAR THE DOOR HANDLE JUST COMES OFF IN THE PERSONS HAND. IN MY WIFES CASE LUCKELY SHE WAS ON OUR DRIVEWAY AND FELL BACKWARD ONTO GRASS AND WAS NOT INJURED. IF THIS HAPPENED TO SOMEONE PARKED ON A BUSY STREET THEY COULD FALL BACK INTO TRAFFIC. IN LOOKING AT THE DETACHED HANDLE IT LOOKS LIKE THE POOR QUALITY PLASTIC INTERIOR JUST CRACKED. AS I SAID THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THREE PEOPLE JUST IN MY CIRCLE OF FRIENDS SO I AM SURE IT IS MORE WIDESPREAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FAILURE RECURRED RANDOMLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BECAME INOPERABLE RANDOMLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL MEASURING DEVICE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
WHEN MY CAR IS BEING SITTING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME LIKE MORE THAN TWO HOURS AND WHEN I START DRIVING AND I HAVE TO BREAK OR REDUCE SPEED FEELS KIND OF ROUGH OR HARD TO BREAK BUT AFTER A WHILE DRIVING START BRAKING LIKE NORMAL I THINK IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT START DOING IT AFTER I TOOK THE CAR TO UNIVERSAL HYUNDAI IN ORLANDO THEY RECOMMENDED NEW BRAKE PAD IN REAR AND TIRES I REPLACE THEM BUT CAR STILL DOING IT ALSO THE DEALER SAID THATS NOT IN THE RECALL I DO HAVE THE DOCUMENTS WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO BE INSPECTED. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM.
DOOR HANDLE BREAKS. PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE IS RARELY USE, MAYBE ONCE A WEEK AT THE MOST ON AVERAGE. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BROKE AND WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. NOW THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE ALSO BROKE.
THE BACK PASSENGER EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR. THE BACK DOORS ARE RARELY USED. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR PASSENGERS THAT MAY RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED TO ENGAGE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. AS A RESULT, THE THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEGS, KNEES, LOWER BACK, AND SHOULDERS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT TOW YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
BOTH HANDLES ON THE REAR DOORS CAME OFF WITHIN A TWO WEEK PERIOD WITHOUT ANY EXTRAORDINARY EFFORT OR ABUSE. IN BOTH CASES THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND IN PARK. ATTACHED ARE PHOTOS OF BOTH DOOR HANDLE LOCATIONS, ONE SIDE WITHOUT THE HANDLE (DRIVER'S SIDE) & THE SECOND WITH THE HANDLE HELD IN PLACE WITH DUCT TAPE (PASSENGER SIDE). NEITHER DOOR IS ACCESSIBLE FROM THE OUTSIDE, RENDERING IT UNFIT TO TRANSPORT ANY PASSENGERS IN THE BACK SEAT. REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS, THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE (IN AN EMERGENCY, IT WOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE TO REMOVE EITHER THE DRIVER OR FRONT SEAT PASSENGER THROUGH THE REAR DOORS.) THE THIRD PHOTO SHOWS THE CURRENT ODOMETER READING OF 49,205, WHICH IS LESS THAN 25,000 MILES MORE THAN WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM A HYUNDAI DEALER.
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE BELTWAY DOING 65 MPH, I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL. I FELT I WAS LOSING SPEED. I NOTICE THE SPEEDOMETER DECELERATING DOWN TO 40MPH WHILE I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. I PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE NO WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, TO NOTIFIED ME THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS DIAGNOSIS AS PROBLEM WITH MY FUEL PUMP. I CHECK WITH HYUNDAI THEY SAID, THE FUEL PUMP DOES NOT HAVE A WARNING LIGHT. MY CONCERN IF SOME TYPE OF WARNING LIGHT SHOULD HAVE APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD BEFORE I STARTED THE CAR. I WOULD HAVE NOT DROVE THE CAR IF THE WARNING LIGHT WAS ON, I WOULD HAVE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I FELT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE SOMEONE COULD HAVE REAR END ME ON THE BELTWAY, DUE TO THE SUDDEN DROP IN SPEED. I HAVE ENJOYED MY CAR SO FAR, BUT I WAS DISAPPOINTED REGARDING THIS INCIDENT. I HAVE A SON WHO DRIVES MY CAR, I AM WORRIED ABOUT HIS SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. I WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER WITH HYUNDAI 8216379. HOWEVER, I SPOKE WITH A CASE MANAGER [XXX] WHO SAID IT WAS NOT MUCH THEY COULD DO. I WANTED TO HAVE A RECORD ON FILE REGARDING THIS COMPLIANT, AND TO SEE IF IT COULD BE INVESTIGATED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE SPEED IMMEDIATELY DECREASED TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND CALLED THE DEALER'S HOTLINE FOR A TOW TRUCK. WHILE THE CONTACT AND HIS WIFE WERE SEATED IN THE VEHICLE WAITING TO HEAR FROM THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING AT THE FRONT END. THE DUO RUSHED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO IMMEDIATELY EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT WHERE THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOOK POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS WRITTEN OFF BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. PER THE ADVISE OF THE INSURANCE COMPANY, THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER STARTED AN INVESTIGATION. THREE MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE). THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT COMPLETE THE INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,795.
WHILE WE WERE SERVICING A CUSTOMER'S VEHICLE, THE TPMS SENSOR BROKE. AN AIR CHUCK WAS PLACED ON THE SENSOR AND IT BROKE. THIS RESULTED IN THE TIRE LOSING ALL AIR PRESSURE.
ONE NIGHT, WITHOUT USING FORCE, THE FRONT PASSENGER HANDLE ON MY 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA CAME OFF WHILE PARKED ON A FLAT. THE DRIVERʻS SIDE, OUTSIDE, BACKDOOR HANDLE CAME OFF AFTER COLLEGE CLASS, A MONTH OR SO LATER, WHILE PARKED, WHEN A CLASSMATE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR, AGAIN NOT USING EXCESSIVE FORCE. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE PASSENGERʻS SIDE, OUTSIDE, BACKDOOR HANDLE CAME OFF WHEN I WENT TO RETRIEVE MY GROCERIES WHILE PARKED, ALSO NOT USING EXCESSIVE FORCE. WHICH STOPPED THE USE OF THIS VEHICLE FOR A ROAD TEST AND GETTING MY SAFETY CHECK. ALL 3 HANDLES I HAD TO PAY WAY TOO MUCH FOR AND HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THEM FIXED JUST SO I COULD GET MY SAFETY CHECK BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH (4/30/2016), AND NOW CAN BE USED FOR A ROAD TEST. RIDICULOUS PRICES FOR HOLLOW PLASTIC HANDLES. I HOPE THESE NEW HANDLES LAST AS LONG AS I OWN THIS VEHICLE! AND HARDER FOR ME BECAUSE I LIVE IN HAWAII. THE PRICES WE HAVE TO PAY FOR LIVING/DRIVING IN PARADISE IS CRAZY!! BUT TO HEAR THIS YEAR, MAKE, MODEL HAS MORE ISSUES I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT FROM READING THEM ON THIS SITE IS NUTS!! IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE/ IN HAWAII?
REACHED TO OPEN BACK PASSENGER DOOR AND IT FELL IN PIECES IN MY HAND. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME THE FIRST TIME COSTING ME $125.0. I RETIRED A.COULD MONTHS ABACK AND CANNOT AFFORD THIS BUT I FEEL IT'S.
THE CAR IS EQUIP WITH CHILD SAFETY LOCK, I STOP TO LET OUT A PASSENGER ON THE DRIVER SIDE,AND THE DOOR HANDLE CAME OFF IN MY HAND, WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $400.00 TO HAVE IT REPLACE, LOOK ON LINE AND THE DIRECT FIT HANDLE COST IS ONLY $34.00 THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, THE HANDLE IS JUST A PEACE OF POORLY MADE PLASTIC, THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPEN NOW.
2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE REAR PASSENGER DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE JUST SNAPPED OFF. I WENT TO OPEN THE DOOR IN A NORMAL FASHION AND THE HANDLE STAYED IN THE OPEN POSITION SO I HAD TO PUSH IT BACK IN TO THE CLOSED POSITION. WHEN I PULLED ON THE HANDLE AGAIN THE HANDLE FELL OFF IN MY HAND. THE REAR DOOR NEVER DID OPEN, NOW I NEED TO REACH THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO OPEN THE REAR DOOR FROM THE INSIDE.
MY CAR WON'T START. IT SOUNDS LIKE IT TRIES TO START THEN ALL YOU HEAR IS THE STARTER SPINNING. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THE STARTER LEVER ARM NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE PLASTIC PART IS KNOWN TO BE FAULTY, AND HYUNDAI REFUSES TO PERFORM A RECALL TO REPLACE THE PLASTIC PART WITH A METAL PART. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE-THE STARTER LEVER ARM COST ABOUT $8.15 TO REPLACE HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP INSIST ON CHARGING $400 TO REPLACE THE BROKEN PLASTIC LEVER ARM. I AM A SECOND OWNER, AND HAVE 75K MILES ON MY VEHICLE; THEREFORE I DO NOT HAVE A WARRANTY ON THE PART.
THE DASH BOARD CRACKED AROUND THE AIRBAG. DEALER STATED IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES IF THE DASHBOARD BECOMES TOO HOT FROM THE SUN AND NO CORRECTION IS NEEDED AS THE AIRBAG WILL STILL FUNCTION. THERE IS A LIGHT 'FILM' ON THE WINDSHIELD AND FRONT, SIDE WINDOWS. WHEN I EXPLORED FURTHER I WAS INFORMED BY 2 SEPARATE MECHANICS WHEN THE AIRBAG GAS TO PUSH THE BAG TO OPEN (WHEN NEEDED BY IMPACT) ENOUGH TO CRACK THE DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. THE FILM ON MY WINDOW (WINDSHIELD, FRONT SIDES) IS FROM THE EXPANSION OF THE GASES STICKING TO THEM. I HAVE REVIEWED SEVERAL FORUMS, MY PROBLEM IS SHARED BY MANY OWNERS. IT IS OVER 1000$ TO FIX- WHICH FEW PEOPLE HAVE, AND SHOULD BE 100% COVERED IN FULL BY THE MANUFACTURER. SECOND ISSUE, MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MONITOR ONLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. MY GRANDDAUGHTER IS 75LBS THE AIRBAG 'ON' LIGHT MAY OR MAY NOT TURN ON. I HAVE READ THIS IS MAY HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED IN A RECALL WHICH ONLY ENDED WITH THE 2008 SONATA. MINE IS A 2010. OBVIOUSLY, BOTH ARE HUGE SAFETY ISSUES AND NEED TO BE REPAIRED ASAP. I CANNOT AFFORD TO DO SO. CURRENTLY MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT SAFE TO USE. HYUNDAI SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR BOTH ISSUES BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE IS MISINFORMED AND COUNTS ON THEIR PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT TO BE INJURED, MAIMED OR KILLED. THE ESC TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT NORMAL SPEED. I CANNOT TURN IT ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON THEN I CAN WORK THE SWITCH FOR ESC TO TURN ON AND OFF, BUT AFTER DRIVING LESS THAN A MILE, ESC WILL AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF, WHEN THIS HAPPENS IF I TRY TO TURN IT ON USING THE SWITCH, IT DOES NOT TURN ON. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY (MILES AT THAT TIME AROUND 40,000). THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY FIXED THE ISSUE, BUT IT IS RECURRING. NOW THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY.
REAR CALIPER FROZEN/STICKING
TWO DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN OFF MY 2010 SONATA WHILE JUST ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THEM. ACCORDING TO HYUNDAI THIS IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY AS THEY CLAIM IT IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I COULD SEE IF IT WAS JUST ONE DOOR HANDLE BUT FOR TWO TO COME OFF DAYS OF EACH OTHER I FIND IT MORE OF A DEFECT THAN WEAR AND TEAR. READING SOME HYUNDAI OWNER FORUMS I HAVE FOUND THIS APPEARS TO BE A NORMAL OCCURRENCE WITH THEIR PRODUCT AND FEEL IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS I TRAVEL WITH KIDS ON A DAILY BASIS AND GOD FORBID THEY WOULD BE LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I COULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR DUE TO THE HANDLE BEING IN MY HAND INSTEAD OF THE DOOR. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE OFF THIS MORNING WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE, AND THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT THIS BREAKAGE HAS OCCURRED, ALBEIT ON THREE DIFFERENT DOORS. ALTHOUGH THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCH STILL WORKS, THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR RESCUE SERVICES TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. BASED ON POSTINGS I HAVE COME ACROSS ON THE INTERNET, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH HYUNDAI SONATAS AND SHOULD IN MY MIND QUALIFY AS A RECALL. *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE CAME OFF WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN DOOR. HANDLE PARTS ARE PLASTIC! CANNOT OPEN DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE NOW. BOUGHT NEW, NOW UNDER 38K MILES, AND LESS THAN 5 YEARS IN USE. CONTACTED HYUNDAI NATIONAL, HAVE NOT HEARD BACK YET. DEALERS INDICATE THAT THIS MAY NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
HAVE SEEN THE RECALL NOTICE ON SONATA 2011-12. I HAVE A 2010, MANUFACTURED IN ALABAMA. THE MOTOR WENT OUT IN THE CAR A FEW MONTHS AGO WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT LOST POWER AND STOPPED. THE CAR CONTINUES TO SIT IN MY DRIVEWAY. I HAD THE DEALER INSPECT IT BEFORE IT WENT OUT BECAUSE OF A KNOCKING NOISE. THE DEALER (MUNGENAST HYUNDAI, 649 DUNN RD., ST. LOUIS, MO) REPORTED IT WAS A MOTOR PROBLEM AND THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT WAS TO REPLACE THE MOTOR. THE WARRANTY HAD ALREADY EXPIRED, AND I DID NOT HAVE $5000 TO REPLACE THE MOTOR. THE MOTOR PROBLEMS DID NOT START WITH THE 2011 MODELS. I HOPE YOU CAN LOOK INTO THIS, AND HOPEFULLY I CAN GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED. THANK YOU. *TR
ON FEBRUARY 26TH 2015, I WALKED OUT TO MY CAR TO FIND THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE HAD FALLEN OFF. THIS IS THE SECOND DOOR HANDLE THAT HAS FALLEN OFF ON MY 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE FIRST TIME WAS THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE HANDLE ON OR AROUND 12/23/2011 AT 30,125 MILES. ALTHOUGH THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND A PROBLEM THAT CAN BE FOUND THROUGH NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS, HYUNDAI HAS NOT RECALLED THEIR DOOR HANDLES. THIS PRESENTS OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS AND DESPITE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS, HYUNDAI CLAIMS THAT IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND WILL NOT BE COVERED. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE HANDLES FALLING OFF OF CARS FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND HYUNDAI SHOULD RECTIFY THIS SITUATION IMMEDIATELY. *TR
AS I WAS TRYING TO GET INTO MY CAR AT 7:20 AM ON 02/24/15 THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE JUST FELL OFF THE DOOR. THE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW ZERO AND IT WAS A SURPRISE TO SEE THAT HAPPEN TO A 5 YEAR OLD CAR!!!! I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL OR PROBLEM THEY KNOW OF REGARDING THE DOOR BUT TURNED WITH NOTHING. THEN SEARCHED ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND TO MY SURPRISE THEY ARE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAD SIMILAR INCIDENTS IN SEVERAL STATES AS WELL A YOUTUBE VIDEO OF AN INDIVIDUAL LOST 3 HANDLES IN CALIFORNIA FOR A NEWER MODEL SONATA!!!!!! CALLED THE HYUNDAI WARRANTY BUT HAD TO LEAVE A MESSAGE!!!!! *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A HILL AND THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THREE WEEKS AGO (APPROX. 1/15/2015), THE DRIVER SIDE REAR HANDLE FELL OFF. TEN DAYS AGO (APPROX 1/27/2015) THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF. THE DEALER WANTS $150 EACH TO REPAIR THEM. I CAN UNDERSTAND ONE HANDLE BREAKING, BUT NOT (ON A CAR LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD) THREE OF THE FOUR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN. I CONSIDER THIS A DEFECT. I HAVE RESEARCHED YOUR SITE AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY MATCHING COMPLAINTS. THE FAILURE IS IN THE AREA OF THE PART THAT HAS AN EXTENDED HOOK WHICH PULLS THE INTERNAL DOOR LATCH TO RELEASE THE DOOR LOCK. THE POINT OF FAILURE IS A CLEAN SHEARED SURFACE APPROXIMATELY HALF WAY ALONG THIS EXTENDED HOOD FEATURE. MICROSCOPIC EXAM OF THE FAILURE INTERFACE INDICATES APPROXIMATELY 50% WELD/KNIT LINES OBSERVED OVER THE CROSS-SECTION. STRONG POSSIBILITY THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT RELATED TO INJECTION MOLDING. THREE OF THE FOUR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN SINCE 2012 AND ONE HAS BROKEN TWICE. *TR TO DATE I HAVE VISITED TWO DEALERSHIPS AT 8 TIMES IN TOTAL FOR THESE HANDLES BREAKING. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS THAT THERE IS A PLASTIC PIECE INSIDE THE HANDLE AS WELL AS END CAP THAT KEEPS BREAKING. INVOICES ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
CALIPER LOCKED UP ON DRIVER SIDE REAR CAUSING ROTOR AND PADS TO EXPERIENCE SEVERE DAMAGE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED. PREVIOUS INCIDENT WAS REAR PASSENGER SIDE BRAKES IN MARCH 2013 IN WHICH ALL REAR BRAKE PADS, ROTORS AND THAT CALIPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS INCIDENT ALSO CAUSED PREMATURE WEAR ON FRONT BRAKES AND THOSE NEEDED REPLACEMENT MONTHS LATER. DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR AS IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY MILEAGE. *TR
