SINCE AUGUST 2010, I HAVE HAD THREE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BRAKE OFF. THIS HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFAULT. ONE BREAKING IS BELIEVABLE. BUT, THREE IS UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ENTERING A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE COVER OFF OF THE SHIFT LOCK BUTTON AND DEPRESSED IT USING A PIN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WOULD BE IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 90,640.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AND BOTH REAR DOOR HANDLES WERE FRACTURED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR PLASTIC DOOR HANDLES WERE DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
REAR DRIVER DOOR HANDLE JUST FELL OFF THE CAR WHEN TRYING TO OPEN DOOR. HAD TO REPLACE ENTIRE HANDLE ASSEMBLY. NEVER HAD THIS EVER HAPPEN IN ANY CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED, AND I HAVE OWNED QUITE A FEW OLDER CARS. *TR
SOME TIMES I HAVE A HARD DOWN SHIFT SOMETIMES I DON'T THE TRANSMISSION WAS SUPPOSE TO BEEN REPLACE BUT TWO YEARS LATER ITS DOING THE SAME THING. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE PADS WEARING PREMATURELY. PADS ARE STAYING AGAINST THE ROTOR. IT APPEARS TO BE A DEFECTIVE CALIPER. THE CALIPER SLIDES WORK SMOOTHLY, PADS MOVE FREELY, NOTHING SEEMS TO BE WRONG BUT THE CALIPER STICKS WITH NO APPARENT CAUSE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE IN PARK, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO LATCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FRONT DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLES FRACTURED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR HANDLES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKE PADS ON MY 2010 SONATA AT 16,794 MILES ON BOTH SIDES. I HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR PADS AND ROTORS ON BOTH SIDES AT 23,156 MILES. I HAD TO REPLACE THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE LINE, PAD, ROTOR AND CALIPER AT 25,854 MILES. THERE HAS BEEN NO ISSUES ON FRONT BRAKES, HOWEVER, I HAVE HAD TO SERVICE MY REAR BRAKES 3 TIMES. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM MY LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER AND IT HAD 4 MILES ON IT. I HAVE SPENT $768.80 ON MY REAR BRAKES SINCE I HAVE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY OF 2010. THERE IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE COMPONENTS ON THIS CAR. THE REAR BRAKES SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT BEFORE THE FRONT BRAKES, AND ESPECIALLY A VEHICLE THAT HAS 16,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR AND THE HANDLE DISCONNECTED FROM THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIR AND THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
MY DOOR HANDLE ON PASSENGER WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE I HAVE TO GET IN ON DRIVERS SIDE AND OPEN FROM INSIDE. MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK I HAD TO OPEN MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR FROM BACK SEAT BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT OPEN WHEN I MASHED THE DOOR OPENER ON REMOTE. *TR

THE TRANSMISSION ALSO FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FURTHER, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 50 MPH. THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 28,000.
I HAVE EXPERIENCED THREE (3) BROKEN OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE BREAKING THE SAME WAY FROM STRESS FRACTURE WHERE THE PLASTIC DOOR HANDLE CONTACTS THE METAL LATCH. IT APPEARS THE PLASTIC DOOR HANDLE IS TOO BRITTLE FOR INTENDED USE. THE BROKEN DOOR HANDLES WERE REPLACED AS FOLLOWS: -REAR RIGHT SIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS REPLACED JAN 16, 2012 -REAR LEFT SIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS REPLACED DEC 21, 2013 -DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE REPLACED DEC 1, 2014 I CONTACTED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY DO NOT APPEAR TO BE CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND ARE TREATING THIS AS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. A BROKEN DOOR HANDLE FAILS HAWAII STATE SAFETY INSPECTION AS THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. HAWAII IS NOT SUBJECT TO EXTREME TEMPERATURE CHANGES. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AS I EXPERIENCED DOOR HANDLE FAILURE AS SOON AS 2 YEARS OF USE WITH THE LEAST USED DOOR HANDLES, REAR PASSENGER DOORS BREAKING BEFORE THE MOST USED DRIVER?S DOOR HANDLE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS SAME FAILURES REPORTED ON THE INTERNET. MY HYUNDAI DEALER NOW HAS THESE DOOR HANDLES IN STOCK (USED TO HAVE TO ORDER THEM IN) AND TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE OF MY MODEL SONATA AND TO REPORT MY CONCERNS TO HYUNDAI USA, WHICH I DID TO NO AVAIL. I BOUGHT A 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA WITH 10K MILES ON IT THE END OF MARCH 2011. THE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE WERE HANKOOK OPTIMO H 426. AFTER I HAD PUT LESS THAN 10K ADDITIONAL MILES ON THE VEHICLE, I HAD ONE OF THE TIRES BULGE AND IMPLODE FROM WITHIN. WITHIN THE MONTH FOLLOWING THIS 2 MORE TIRES BULGED ON THE SIDEWALL AND WERE REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE ALL IN DIFFERENT SPOTS ON MY VEHICLE AND IT WAS THREE SEPARATE INCIDENTS. NEITHER THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP NOR HANKOOK TIRES WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT IN THE TIRES. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON LOW BEAMS,THERE IS A BLACK LINE MID-WAY THE WINDSHIELD DISRUPTING MY VIEWING FIELD. IT SO DISTRACTING I HATE DRIVING THIS CAR AT NIGHT!! IT IS HAZARDOUS TO MY DRIVING! HAD IT TO THE DEALER SERVICE 2 OR 3 TIMES TO CHECK THE LIGHTS AND THEY ALSO DROVE IT AT NIGHT AND SAW THE SAME THING. RECENTLY PURCHASED A ONE OWNER 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED FROM DEALERSHIP IN BISMARCK, ND THE CAR HAS 6800 ORIGINAL MILES. THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES A RUBBING AND CRACKLING SOUND. THE WHEEL IS ALSO LOOSE AS I CAN ROCK THE STEERING WHEEL FROM SIDE TO SIDE WITHOUT TURNING WHEEL AND IT IS DEFINITELY LOOSE. MAKES LOTS OF NOISE WHEN DRIVING CRACKLING AND POPPING SOUNDS. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH IN WHICH THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE POLICE APPEARED ON THE SCENE AND THE DRIVER WAS REPORTED INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAGS WOULD ONLY DEPLOY WHEN THE IMPACT FROM THE CRASH STRUCK THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
2010 HYUNDAI SONATA. 9 MONTHS OLD, HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE CENTER 5 DIFFERENT TIMES. 2 TIMES FOR SENSOR REPLACEMENT. THE LAST 3 TIMES, DRIVING AT A NORMAL ACCELERATE PACE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, ESC LIGHT COMES ON AND VEHICLE LOSES POWER. ON ONE OF THOSE OCCASIONS, VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE GOING THROUGH INTERSECTION, AND ALMOST WAS REAR ENDED. SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS REPLACED MANY PARTS FROM THROTTLE POSITION ASSEMBLY TO THERMOSTAT TO ELECTRICAL WIRING HARNESS. IN MY OPINION, VEHICLE IS A LEMON. *TR
OUR 6 MONTH OLD CHILD MUST HAVE EATEN TOO MUCH OR HAD AN UPSET STOMACH AND BEGAN TO VOMIT. MY WIFE AND I BEGIN TO PANIC BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE CHOKING. SO WE ARE DOING 40 MPH ON ROAD WITH NO SHOULDER AND CARS ALL AROUND LOOKING FOR A PLACE PULL OFF. BUT HE'S NOT CHOKING YET, SO I'M STILL DRIVING. FINALLY A SHOULDER, SO I PULL OFF AND STOP. THIS IS A RENTAL CAR, BUT IS NO DIFFERENT FROM MANY OTHER CARS IN THAT MUCH TO OUR DISMAY SHE FINDS THAT ALTHOUGH SHE CAN OPEN HER DOOR AND GET OUT SHE CAN'T GET INTO HIS DOOR) BECAUSE PROBLEM #1 IT'S ONE OF THOSE CARS THAT HAS THE DOORS THAT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU TAKE IT OUT OF PARK OR MOVE MORE THAN 5MPH OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. SO NOW WE ARE FIGHTING WITH THE BUTTONS ON OUR RESPECTIVE DOORS, BOTH TRYING TO UNLOCK HIS DOOR, IN OUR PANIC NOT THINKING THROUGH THAT MAYBE I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND THEY'LL ALL UNLOCK THEMSELVES. NOW I'M PANICKING AGAIN - SHE'S ABOUT TO CRAWL OVER THE SEAT, I'M ABOUT TO START TEARING PIECES OFF THIS CAR BUT I CAN'T GET OUT CAUSE CARS ARE FLYING BY MY SIDE. SO SHE FINALLY REACHES AROUND AND UNLOCKS HIS DOOR FROM THE INSIDE AND GETS HIM OUT OF THE CAR SEAT. HE'S OK. WHEW! I REALLY BELIEVE THESE AUTO LOCKS ARE A BAD IDEA, AND I HAVE FROM THE START, BUT NOW I KNOW I NEVER EVER WANT A CAR OF MINE TO HAVE THAT FEATURE AND I WILL ALWAYS DISABLE IT. IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE LEARNED THAT WHILE I HAVE THIS RENTAL CAR I CAN WAIT FOR THE DOORS TO LOCK AND HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON AND THEY WILL STAY UNLOCKED. WHICH BRINGS ME TO PROBLEM #2. THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DOOR DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME SYMBOLS ON IT AS THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON MY REMOTE CAR KEY. AND THE SYMBOLS ON THE DOOR BUTTON ARE FAR TOO SMALL - I HAVE TO LEAN FORWARD AND SQUINT TO FIGURE OUT WHICH POSITION IS "UNLOCK." THE CAR KEY HAS THE SYMBOLS OF AN OPEN PADLOCK AND CLOSED PADLOCK. THESE TO ME SHOULD BE THE SAME SYMBOLS USED ON THE DOOR BUTTON - THEY SHOULD BE A UNIVERSAL SYMBOL, AND THEY SHOULD BE BIG ENOUGH TO SEE FROM MY SEAT. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE IMPACT WITH FAILURE OF DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DID DEPLOY. ACCIDENT RESULTED IN FATALITY. *TR

WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL AT 70 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED UP TO 80 MPH. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONNECTED TO HYUNDAI'S ATTEMPT TO INCREASE THE MILES PER GALLON. HYUNDAI SONATA 2010 V6 SEDAN ROLLS BACKWARDS ON INCLINE WHEN IN DRIVE. BASICALLY GOES INTO FREEFALL IN TIME IT TAKES TO PUT FOOT FROM BRAKE TO ACCELERATOR. ALSO STEERING IS VERY SWIMMY. TEND TO OVER OR UNDER STEER AND LOTS OF SWAY IN CHASIS WHEN TURNING OR CHANGING LANES AT HIGH SPEEDS ON FREEWAY. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND TOLD IT IS THE WAY IT IS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 6870.

I NOTICED THIS IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR AND DRIVING OFF AT NIGHT. I HAD TEST DRIVEN IT FOR A LONG PERIOD IN THE DAYTIME, BUT NOT AT NIGHT. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE EITHER FAULTY OR A PRODUCT WITH VERY POOR ENGINEERING. THERE IS A VERY DISTINCT HORIZONTAL LINE DIVIDING DARKNESS AND LIGHT WHERE HEADLIGHTS SHINE. THAT LINE JUMPS UP AND DOWN AS BUMPS IN THE ROAD ARE CROSSED WHILE DRIVING. VISION WITH LIGHTS AT NIGHT IS SO POOR THAT YOU HAVE TO DRIVE SLOWER THAN THE NORMAL SPEED LIMIT. IT IS VERY SHADOWY WITH BLOTCHY AREAS OF DARKNESS TO LIGHT IN THE RANGE OF VISION. SHADOWS SEEM TO BE COMING FROM EVERYWHERE; THE DISTRACTION AND LACK OF CLEAR VISION WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT IS FRIGHTENING AND VERY DANGEROUS. THE ONLY WAY I FEEL CONFIDENT DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT IS WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON. I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY EYES BEFORE VARIOUS OTHER PEOPLE WITH ME CONFIRMED THIS WAS OCCURRING. I WON'T DRIVE IT ON THE FREEWAY! *TR

MY 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA HAS A LOW BEAM DEFECT THAT IS A DANGER TO DRIVE AT NIGHT , ESPECIALLY ON HILLY COUNTRY ROADS. THERE IS A BLACK BAND THAT ERASES THE FIELD OF VIEW FOR OBJECTS ON OR ALONGSIDE THE ROAD. BY THE TIME THE CAR HAD 5K MILES ON HER - SHE HAD BEEN IN TWICE TO HAVE THE HEADLIGHTS CHECKED AND I WAS TOLD THEY WERE ADJUSTED AS HIGH AS THEY COULD GO AND TO USE HIGH BEAMS IF I COULDN'T SEE. I CALLED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AFTER GETTING NOWHERE I FINALLY GOT A MANAGER ON THE LINE AND HE PROMISED THAT AN ENGINEER WOULD BE SENT TO MY DEALERSHIP AND LOOK OVER THE PROBLEM -THIS NEVER HAPPENED SO WHEN I CALLED I WAS TOLD TO GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY COULD LOOK AT THE LIGHTS AGAIN I GET FLASHED BY ONCOMING CARS BECAUSE THEY THINK MY HIGHS ARE ON WHEN THEY ARE NOT. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT THEY SEE WHEN MY HIGHS ARE ON. IF I DRIVE UNDER STREETLIGHTS OR HAVE ONCOMING CARS IN MY VIEW I DON'T SEE THE BLACK BAND BUT WHAT I DO SEE IS MY LIGHTS BOUNCING OFF ROAD SIGNS WITH ONLY SPLOTCHES OF LETTERS BEING ILLUMINATED AND THE REST OF THE SIGN DARK. IF SOMETHING , LIKE A DEER, WERE IN THE ROAD OR BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I WOULD NEVER SEE IT. I DO NOT WANT TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, KILL SOMEONE, HIT DEBRIS IN THE ROAD OR HURT MYSELF IN A CRASH BECAUSE THE LIGHTS HAVE A FAULTY DESIGN. . I READ THAT OTHER 2010 SONATA OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM SO WHEN IS HYUNDAI GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND FIX THE PROBLEM OR REPLACE OUR CARS? I WROTE TO HYUNDAI AND THEY CLAIM THAT THE LIGHTS ARE WORKING AS DESIGNED AND I SHOULD TAKE MY CAR IN TO CHECK MY LIGHTS IF I AM HAVING PROBLEMS. AS I BACKED THE CAR FROM A PARKING SPACE AND STARTED FORWARD AND I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I WAS LUCKY THAT THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS ABLE TO REACH THE PARKING LOT EXIT SAFELY. I TURNED LEFT FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED YARDS AND REACHED A TRAFFIC SIGNAL, I WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY TURN LEFT. I PROCEEDED SOUTH AND ENTERED THE LEFT TURN LANE AT ROUTE 104 AND WAS THE FIRST CAR AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING FOR TRAFFIC ALREADY ACROSS THE INTERSECTION WAITING TO TURN LEFT ONTO ROUTE 104. THE CAR ACROSS THE INTERSECTION BEGAN TO MOVE AND I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR SHOT ACROSS THE INTERSECTION AT FULL SPEED INSTANTLY AND I WAS DRIVEN INTO THE CAR IN FRONT. THERE WAS NO CHANCE TO STOP THE CAR. THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND CUT BOTH MY WRISTS WHEN THEY HELD THE STEERING WHEEL. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE UNTIL I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. A POLICE OFFICER ARRIVED SHORTLY ASKED ONE OR TWO QUESTIONS AND SUGGESTED I REMAIN IN THE CAR. MEDICS FROM A PRIVATE AMBULANCE SERVICE WHO HAD BEEN IN THE EVENING TRAFFIC IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AND I OPENED MY FRONT DOOR WINDOWS AND SPOKE TO THEM (A MAN AND WOMAN EMT). THEY APPLIED BANDAGE PADS TO AIRBAG CUTS ON BOTH WRISTS THROUGH THE OPEN WINDOWS. I REMAINED IN THE CAR AND INDICATED I DID NOT NEED HOSPITALIZATION. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE CUOLD NOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE IT WAS DESIGNED WITHOUT THE STABILIZER AND HE WAS UNABLE TO OVERRIDE THE DESIGN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED IN REGARDS TO THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.

THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN MY 2010 HYUNDAI SONATA HAS BEEN HAVING ABNORMAL ISSUES SINCE MY DATE OF PURCHASE. FIRST IT WAS JUST STALLING WHEN DISENGAGING THE CLUTCH FROM REVERSE AND FIRST GEAR; NOW IT IS PRIMARILY FROM FIRST GEAR. TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE FORWARD YOU MUST DRAG THE CLUTCH AND PUSH THE ACCELERATOR CAUSING AN ODD CLACKING NOISE IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR, OR SOMETIMES IT HAS A SQUEALING OR RUBBING SOUND AND THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD AND THERE IS A BURNING SMELL. TODAY, WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR, THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD AS THOUGH IT WAS ACCELERATING ON IT'S OWN AND I WAS BARELY TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TWICE WITH COMPLAINTS OF THE ABNORMAL PERFORMANCE, THE FIRST TIME AT 809 MILES, AND THE SECOND TIME AT 1794 MILES , AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE COMPLAINT. *TR
