MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A SHOP BEING LOOKED AT. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BECAUSE I WAS DRIVING IT AND IT STARTED MAKING A KNOCKING SOUND AND DIED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE CONSTANT LIGHTING ISSUES WHERE I HAVE TO REPLACE HEADLIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS EVERY MONTH TO 2 MONTHS. LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM ALL THE TIME. IT HAS A CLICKING SOUND THAT NEVER GOES AWAY. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN THIS CAR. I OWE 2 MORE YEARS ON THIS CAR AND I'M AFRAID IT'S NOT GOING TO MAKE IT. I HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION TO WORK NOW AND I MAY BE AT RISK OF LOSING BOTH JOBS I HAVE. I'M SO DISGUSTED IN MY CHOICE OF VEHICLES RIGHT NOW.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT AND RIGHT, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL POPPING NOISE AND THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (SPORT DURST HYUNDAI, 4511 DURHAM CHAPEL HILL BLVD, DURHAM, NC 27707, (919) 489-6531) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
I BEEN HAVING THIS VEHICLE SINCE 02/2016 AND EXPERIENCING A LIGHT OUTAGE MORE THAN OFTEN. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE LIGHTS FORM HEAD LIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS, AND BRAKE LIGHTS (LIKE MUSICAL CHAIRS) AT ;EAST ONCE A MONTH. IM NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE IS OCCURRING FROM. I HAVE USED LOW PRICED BULBS TO HIGH PRICED BULBS. PER MY ENGINE RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY.
WITH THE CAR JUST RUNNING I CAN MOVE MY STEERING WHEEL AND MAKES A CLANKING NOISE. IT ALSO MAKES REALLY LOUD NOISES WHEN HIT BUMPS OR GO OVER RAILROAD CROSSINGS. IT DOESN'T FEEL SAFE AND IS VERY SCARY WHEN SEEING 2011 HAD RECALL FOR SAME THING AND MANY 2012 HAVE HAD SAME COMPLAINTS. THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION AND I HAVE CHILDREN. I HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND WAS TOLD SAME PROBLEM THAT I HAVE READ ABOUT WITH STEERING COLUMN AND STEERING SHAFT. PLEASE ADVISE BEST WAY TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF.
WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, A SERIES OF CLICKS WILL START TO HAPPEN WHETHER OR NOT THE CAR HAS BEEN TURNED ON. WHENEVER ON THE INTERSTATE, ANYTIME I GET NEAR 60 OR 70 MPH THE WHEEL STARTS SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS BEING DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RED MC COMBS HYUNDAI NORTHWEST (LOCATED AT 13663 INTERSTATE 10 FRONTAGE ROAD, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78249, TEL: (210) 798-4500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A BRAKE PLUG SWITCH THAT WAS UNPLUGGED, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TAIL LIGHTS WERE ALSO INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BULBS HAD BEEN REPLACED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
FIRST THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE NEXT DAY WHILE AT WORK DURING MY LUNCH BREAK WANTED TO LEVE THE FACILITY TO PURCHASE LUNCH AND WAS UNABLE TO. THE CAR WOULDNT START. IT SAID ON DASHBOARD EPS. TRIED CRANKING SEVERAL TIMES AFTERWARDS AND STILL NOTHING.
BRAKE LIGHTS NOT TURNING OFF WHEN CAR IS OFF.
I WAS TURNING ON TO A CITY STREET ,BEGAN TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF. TRIED TO JUMP , NOTHING .THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS THE STARTER. HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP TO CHECK/CHANGE THE STARTER . THEY TOLD ME THE ENGINE HAD SEIZED .HAD IT TOWED TO HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP THREE DAYS AGO.WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME AFTER INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE THAT I MIGHT HAVE TO PAY FOR. HOPING FOR THE BEST , EXPECTING THE WORSE
DRIVING IN HEAVY HIGHWAY TRAFFIC IN THE HIGH SPEED LANE OF A SIX LANE HIGHWAY MY ENGINE DIED. NO WARNING OF ANY SORT PRECEDED THE FAILURE. I WAS FORTUNATE TO SAFELY NAVIGATE ACROSS THE OTHER TRAVEL LANES IN A VEHICLE WITH NO POWER..
POWER STEERING AND NON-REQUESTED ACTIVATION OF TRACTION CONTROL_ I WAS PULLING INTO MY CARPORT ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO WHEN I LOST POWER STEERING ON MY CAR. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT 20 MILES AWAY AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR IN THE NEXT DAY. THE NEXT DAY THE POWER STEERING WORKED AS NORMAL SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BACK AND THEY SUGGESTED TO BRING THE CAR IN IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS LEAVING MY DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT ON JUNE 12TH AND THE CAR HAD NO POWER STEERING AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM I WAS NEARBY AND I WAS ON MY WAY TO THEM. I GOT ABOUT 200 FEET FROM THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE WHEN MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND I COULDN'T CONTROL THE STEERING. LUCKILY IT WAS A 35 MPH SPEED ZONE SO I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SHOULDER QUICKLY. I THOUGHT THE ENGINE DIED BUT IT WAS STILL RUNNING. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM FIXED ITSELF, BUT THE TRACTION LIGHT WAS ON AND I STILL HAD NO POWER STEERING. I MADE MY WAY SLOWLY THE 5 OR SO MILES TO THE SHOP. MY VEHICLE HAD 54,358 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE SECOND TIME. OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE IT IS OVER 50,000 MILES. THIS SORT OF ISSUE SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A CAR WITH SO FEW MILES AND I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLE, OIL CHANGES, TIRE ROTATION, BRAKE INSPECTIONS, ETC.I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE $1310.00 IN REPAIRS TO REPLACE THE UPPER PART OF THE STEERING COLUMN WHERE THE 'POWER STEERING UNIT' IS LOCATED. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI USA AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME. I DISAGREE. MY CAR HAS LOW MILES AND THIS TYPE OF DANGER SHOULD PROMPT A RECALL AND RE-IMBURSEMENT OF MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF MY EXPENSES. I COMMUTE TO WORK ON INTERSTATE 5 AND IF I HAD BEEN GOING THE 65 MPH SPEED LIMIT WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED AND MAYBE THE DRIVERS AROUND ME . I AM NOT ENTIRELY SURE THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REALLY FIXED. I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING MY OWN CAR.
THE ENGINE SEIZE THEY TRY TO BLAME IT ON THE FRIST OWNER !!!!! WHICH WAS CRAZY THEY GAVE ME ONE THOUSAND TOO HELP BUY NEW ENGINE CAST IS 5140 MINUS THE ONE THOSUAND CAME TOO 4140 DOLLARS THEY STINK BAD FAIL ONTHE STREET IN MOTION

THE AIR BAG DASHBOARD WARNING INDICATOR HAS BECOME ILLUMINATED AND WILL NOT TURN OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS WHEN BECAME ILLUMINATED. THE SONATA IS A 2012 WITH 37,000 AND HAS NOT BEEN IN A CRASH TO ACTIVATE THE AIR BAGS. HYUNDAI WANTS TO CHARGE ME $150 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC PLUS REPAIR COSTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS BEING DEPRESSED. THE ESC TRACTION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TAMERON HYUNDAI (1595 MONTGOMERY HWY, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35216 (205) 380-6250) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A SHORTAGE IN THE WIRE THAT CONNECTS THE BRAKES TO THE BRAKE LIGHT. UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE MADE, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE CAP OVER THE ANTENNA SYSTEM ON THE TOP OF THE BACK OF THE CAR FLEW OFF. NO REPLACEMENT THEY INDICATED UNLESS I PURCHASE THE WHOLE UNIT AND I ONLY NEED THE PROTECTIVE CAP. I HEARD A BANG AND WAS MOVING SLOW OUT OF A SHOPPING CENTER STOPPED AND LOOKED AND IT WAS GONE FOUND ONLY A BROKEN PIECE.
STEERING COUPLING IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HYUNDAI FOR 2012 SONATAS AS ADMITTED BY THE DEALER. IT IS A FAULTY PIECE AND CAN CAUSE THE STEERING TO BUCKLE WHILE DRIVING MAKING THE STEERING WHEEL INOPERABLE. THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOOSE, SHAKING, CREATING A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN. IT IS ANYTIME THE CAR IS IN MOTION WHETHER IT IS CITY OR HIGHWAY.
WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROX. 65MPH WITH OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF AND BEHIND ME, ALL OF THE INDICATOR LIGHTS ON MY 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA LIT UP AND THE ENGINE SIEZED. THE RPM DIAL INDICATED "0" AND I HAD TO COAST TO A SAFE PLACE TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING, SO I ATTEMPTED TO START IT, RESULTING IN SMOKE COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE CAR. HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY SEIZED. I AM THE ONLY OWNER OF THE CAR AND HAVE MAINTAINED SERVICE PROPERLY INCLUDING HAVING IT INSPECTED WHEN RECALLS WERE RECEIVED. I AM NOW GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM HYUNDAI AS THEY SAY IT IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MY FINANCING HAS NOT EVEN COME TO AN END, BUT THE ENGINE DID AND I DO NOT FIND THAT ACCEPTABLE. ESPECIALLY SINCE LEARNING HYUNDAI HAS KNOWN OF A PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE.
BELOW IS A RECALL FROM HYUNDAI REGARDING THE ENGINE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GET IT INSPECTED AND THE DEALER STATED IT WAS FINE, HOWEVER, A YEAR LATER THE MOTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED, AND THE RECALL INFO BELOW IS EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING IS HOW WE NOTICED THE ISSUE. OUR CONCERN IS; HYUNDAI TOLD US IT WAS FINE WHEN WE TOOK IT IN TO GET INSPECTED AND NOW THAT THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED (BY US) HYUNDAI STATED THAT IT WAS AFTER THE 120,000 MILE LIMIT (126,000) THAT IS ON THE RECALL SO NO HELP IS PROVIDED. IF IT HAD BEEN INSPECTED PROPERLY THE FIRST TIME, WE MAY HAVE NOT HAD TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED, ALSO, IF THERE IS A PROBLEM, WHY PUT A LIMIT ON IT (120,000), JUST REPLACE WHAT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY OR REPAIR WHAT IS THE PROBLEM...OR MAKE SURE TECHS KNOW HOW TO INSPECT THE CONCERNS PROPERLY. IS THERE ANY HELP OR RESOURCE YOU CAN PROVIDE? YOUR VEHICLE IS AFFECTED BY THE SONATA ENGINE CONNECTING ROD BEARING INSPECTION RECALL CAMPAIGN. TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT, INPUT YOUR ZIP CODE BELOW AND A LIST OF THE CLOSEST DEALERS WILL APPEAR. DURING THE MANUFACTURING OF THE ENGINE, METAL DEBRIS MAY HAVE BEEN GENERATED DURING FACTORY MACHINING OPERATIONS. IF THE DEBRIS WAS NOT REMOVED FROM THE CRANKSHAFT'S OIL PASSAGES, IT COULD CONTAMINATE THE CONNECTING ROD OILING PASSAGES, RESTRICTING OIL FLOW TO THE CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS AND INCREASING THE POTENTIAL OF PREMATURE BEARING WEAR. A WORN CONNECTING ROD BEARING MAY RESULT IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING: A METALLIC, CYCLIC KNOCKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE WHICH INCREASES IN FREQUENCY AS THE ENGINE RPM INCREASES. ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. IF THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO BE DRIVEN WITH A WORN CONNECTING ROD BEARING, THE BEARING CAN FAIL, AND THE VEHICLE COULD STALL.
I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AFTER HEARING A LOUD CRACK. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SAW THAT MY DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE WAS FALLING OFF THE CAR. THE UPPER CONTROL ARM MOUNTING BOLT CRACKED AND WAS BROKEN CAUSING DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE COMING OFF OF VEHICLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL SITUATION. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION I CAN FAX....IT WILL NOT DOWNLOAD AS IT IS TOO MANY PAGES.
I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH MY SONATA, TROUBLE SINCE DAY 1! I WAS GOING ON A FAMILY TRIP I HAVE ABOUT A 300 NIKE DRIVE NOT EVEN AN HOUR INTO THE DRIVE MY CAR STOPS ON THE HIGHWAY I HAD TO GET ASSISTANCE TO MOVE IT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, ROAD RANGER SPOTS ME AND STOPS TO HELP HE TELLS ME I HAD ENGINE FAILURE! I THEN HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO PICK ME UP AND PRETTY MUCH LEFT MY CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY UNTIL I RETURNED FROM MY TRIP. THEN GET MY CAR TOWED BACK TO HYUNDAI WHICH COST ME ABOUT 400, HYUNDAI KEEPS MY CAR FOR ABOUT A MONTH REPLACED THE ENGINE BUT NOT THE TURBO BECAUSE IT WASN'T APART OF TH RECALL, REALLY! MY CAR DRIVES LIKE CRAP WITHOUT THE TURBO , MADE A COMPLAINT WITH CORPORATE AND NOTHING HAS GOTTEN RESOLVED! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER HYUNDAI AGAIN!!!!
LAST YEAR (2016) 2 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA MY ENGINE FAILED. I REALIZED IT WAS DUE TO A RECALL ON MY CAR. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT TIME OF PURCHASE AND CAR FACTS DID NOT MENTION OPEN RECALL. THE DEALER REFUSED TO PAY OR BE INVOLVED IN THE FIXING OF THE CAR OR THE RENTAL. EVEN THOUGH I PAID 2000 DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE HYUNDAI COMPANY COMPLETED THE RECALL FIX ON MY ENGINE AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY (STATE FARM ) GOT THE DEALERSHIP TO COVER HALF THE COST OF THE RENTAL. THIS YEAR (2017) ALMOST EXACTLY 1 YEAR LATER I AM DRIVING 60 MPH DOWN THE FREEWAY AND MY ENGINE FAILS ONCE AGAIN. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE SAME MERCED HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP HAT "FIXED" THE PROBLEM LAST YEAR. THE PROBLEM IS THE FUEL TANK HAS METAL DEBRI IN IT FROM THE TIME HEY BUILT THE CAR AND OVER TIME AS IT PASSED THROUGH YOUR ENGINE IT BREAKS IT DOWN. THE "FIXED" THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING MY ENGINE BLOCK BUT NOT REPLACING HE FUEL TANK SO WON'T THE PROBLEM JUST HAPPEN AGAIN? I AM HOPING THEY DON'T TRY TO MAKE ME PAY FOR IT THIS TIME AROUND. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MY OPTIONS FOR THIS SITUATION AND WHO NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
WHENEVER I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL A LOUD CLUCK SOUND HAPPENS. IT FEELS LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOOSE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH FOUND OUT THAT THE FLEXIBLE COUPLER IS THE PROBLEM. A CHEAP PLASTIC PIECE THAT BREAKS BECAUSE IT IS SANDWICHED BETWEEN 2 METAL GEARS, NOT A GOOD SOLUTION.
TURBO ACULATOR GONE BAD. ALSO RECALL# 160 SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETED THE LAST TIME I TOOK THE CAR IN NHTSA WEBSITE SHOWS INCOMPLETE. THE TURBO ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED BY FIRESTONE GAVE CODE TO HYUNDAI; NOW I'M TOLD THE CAR IS NOT DRIVEABLE SAID IT'S GETTING NO POWER SINCE LAST NIGHT. $633 IN REPAIRS.

I HEARD A LIGHT KNOCKING NOISE WHEN TURNING STEERING SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT WHEN CAR WAS STATIONARY OR MOVING. LIGHT CLUNK EACH SIDE. MY MECHANIC DISASSEMBLED THE STEERING COLUMN AND REMOVED S FULLY WORN DOWN STEERING COUPLER.
I WAS DRIVING FROM GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA AND WAS ON 95 NORTH IN PETERSBURG, VA AND I HEARD A LOUD BOOM (LIKE A GUN BLAST). I PULLED OVER TO THE NEAREST REST AREA ONLY TO FIND A BIG WHOLE IN MY SUNROOF. NOW THE DEALER IS STATING THAT IT WON'T BE COVERED BY THEM.
STEERING WHEEL/COLUMN MAKES VERY LOUD CLUNKING SOUND WHEN DRIVING OVER UNEVEN ROADS OR WHEN TRAVELING IN EXCESS OF 20 MPH. IT LITERALLY FEELS LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL IS ABOUT TO COME OFF IN THE DRIVER'S HANDS AND THE SOUND IS UNBEARABLE. THERE IS ALSO A FAIR AMOUNT OF "PLAY" IN THE STEERING, WITH A LOUD "CLUNK!" SOUND AT EITHER END OF THE "PLAY" ZONE. CLUNKING SOUND WHILE DRIVING IN EXCESS OF 20 MPH LESSENS WHEN WHEEL IS ENGAGED IN A TURN.
I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, BUT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT MY ENGINE HAS FAILED, THE FIRST WAS FEBRUARY 2016, THE DEALERSHIP HAD MY CAR FOR MORE THAN THREE MONTHS. NOW A PART INSIDE OF THE ENGINE THAT WAS REPLACED HAS FAILED. THE CAR IS OVER HEATING. HYUNADI WOULD NOT PAID FOR A RENTAL CAR THE DEALER GAVE ME ONE. THIRD, HYUNDAI WANTED THE DEALER TO SEND PICTURES OF THE ENGINE, THEN SEND PICTURES OF THE OIL MIXING WITH THE ANIT FREEZE LIQUID. I CALLED HYUNDAI AND SPOKE TO MR. CHRIS LOWE AT THE EASTERN REGIONAL HYUNDAI OFFICE HE ASSURE ME THAT HE WOULD CALL THE DEALERSHIP ON WEDNESDAY OF LAST WEEK HE DID NOT AND I HAD TO CALL HIM ABOUT MY CAR. HE WAS NOT HELPFUL. I OWE A GREAT DEAL ON THIS CAR AND I CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY 800.00 A MONTH FOR A NEED CAR WHICH I DID NOT WANT. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A USED 2017 WITH MILEAGE UNDER 12, 000. NO ACCIDENTS. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE RESPONSE AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I HAVE RECEIVED FROM HYUNDAI. FAULTY AIRBAG AS A RESULT OF FAULTY CLOCK SPRING. TOOK VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP (DUE TO AIRBAG LIGHT), AND APPARENTLY CLOCK SPRING PART IS BACK-ORDERED. HOWEVER, DEALER AND HYUNDAI CORPORATE TOLD ME TO CONTINUE USING VEHICLE DESPITE FAULTY CLOCK SPRING, AS THE VEHICLE IS STILL "OPERABLE". EXTREMELY DISTURBED THAT HYUNDAI CORPORATE WOULD NOT ADVISE ON ESTIMATED TIME OF CLOCK SPRING ARRIVAL. THIS APPEARS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE, GIVEN THE BACK ORDER, WHICH SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED ASAP, AS THERE MAY BE MORE VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THIS ISSUE - UNBEKNOWNST TO DRIVERS.

THEN I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE SOMEONE HAD THROWN A BRICK OR SOMETHING. ONCE THE POLICE ARRIVED, THEY INFORMED ME THAT NOTHING HAD EXTERNALLY CAUSED THIS ISSUE. THE SUNROOF EXPLODED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD SEEN THIS BEFORE AND THAT THERE WERE CLAIMS AGAINST HYUNDAI. SO NATURALLY I CONTACTED MY HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP INQUIRING ABOUT IF THERE WAS A RECALL. OF COURSE, THEY SAID THERE WAS NOT. I HAD TO FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE FOR REPAIRS. I CANNOT IMAGINE IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHAY WITH THE KIDS. I COULD HAVE WRECKED AND COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. THIS ISSUE REALLY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
THE ESC LIGHT CAME ON 3/14/17 AND REMAIN ON FROM 7:00PM TO 8:00 PM AND THEN WENT OFF BY ITSELF. MY CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER SEVERAL ENCOUNTERS FINALLY I WOULD PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND THEN START THE CAR AND IT WOULD START RIGHT UP EVERYONE IT WOULD CUT OFF.
