THE REMOTES TO MY VEHICLE ARE DEFECTIVE THEY SLIDE OFF OF THE VALET KEY WITHOUT THE RELEASE BUTTON BEING PUSHED. SINCE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT USE A KEY TO START IT, WILL BE UNABLE TO USE MY VEHICLE IF THE REMOTE CONTINUES TO FALL APART. ONE OF THEY REMOTES WAS ALREADY LOST DUE TO THIS MALFUNCTION AND THE OTHER IS WRAPPED IN TAPED.
DROVE SONATA ON NORTH LAKE BLVD GOING EAST FROM DEALERSHIP AFTER GETTING CAR SERVICED. STOPPED AT CONGRESS FOR RED LIGHT. NOTICED ENGINE SURGING AND TACH AT ABOVE 3000 RPM. PRESSED HARD ON SERVICE BRAKE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES ENGINE IDLED BACK DOWN TO NORMAL AT 750 RPM IDLE SPEED. CAR HAS NOT DUPLICATED ABOVE EXPERIENCE TO DATE. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 11/13/17
1. CRUISE CONTROL IS JERKY AND ROUGH ON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION 2. MAIN ISSUE I HAVE WITH THIS CAR IS THAT THE FUEL GAUGE IS INCREDIBLY INACCURATE. IF IT READS AT 1/8 TANK, I CAN ONLY PUT IN 12-13 GALLONS. EACH "TICK" MARK ON THE GAUGE VALUE RANGES FROM ABOUT 9 MILES TO 63 MILES DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT REGULARLY GETS 32+ MPG COMBINED CITY/HIGHWAY. WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP (I BOUGHT IT USED) THEY REPLACED THE VACCUUM CYLINDER, WHICH HELPED WITH FILLING THE TANK (IT WOULD PREVIOUSLY JUST SHUT OFF MYSTERIOUSLY DURING FILL-UPS) BUT THEN THE GAS GAUGE MEASURED EVEN WORSE. THE "RANGE" AS CALCULATED BY THE CAR'S COMPUTER IS ALWAYS VERY LOW AND DROPS OFF PRECIPITOUSLY EVEN THOUGH I KNOW (BY THE TRIP METER) THAT I HAVEN'T GONE FAR ENOUGH TO HAVE USED AS MUCH GAS AS IT WOULD APPEAR. DESPITE THE OBVIOUS FLAWS OF THE GAUGE, THE CODES STILL READ THAT IT IS WORKING "NORMALLY" AND TO HAVE IT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, I HAVE TO EXPERIENCE A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE FUEL SENDING UNITS, I.E. CATASTROPHIC BREAK DOWN. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM REPLACED BEFORE IT GETS TO THAT POINT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO EMIT A GRINDING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END AND BEGAN TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, BECAUSE IT BEGAN TO HESITATE, THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HYUNDAI OF CHANTILLY VIRGINIA (14848 STONECROFT CENTER CT, CHANTILLY, VA 20151; 703-480-9000), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. *LN
WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY NOTICED DRIVER SEAT HAD SLIGHT WOBBLE, PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THE FRONT LEFT BOLT (FLANGED, INSCRIBED WITH 10) ATTACHING THE SEAT CUSHION FRAME ASSEMBLY TO THE TRACK RAILS HAD COMPLETELY DETACHED.
THE VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE WHILE DRIVING UP THE MOUNTAIN TO BIG BEAR. NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. TWO DAYS LATER WHILE DESCENDING THE MOUNTAIN, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED MAKING THE NOISE. NO LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. THEN, WHILE STILL ON THE MOUNTAIN, THERE WAS A LOUD "POP", SMOKE COULD BE SEEN IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, AND THE ENGINE DIED; I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR BEHIND ME PULLED OVER AND THE DRIVER YELLED THAT MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. FLAMES COULD BE SEEN UNDER THE CAR. THE FIRE SPREAD AND ULTIMATELY THE CAR EXPLODED, SETTING THE HILLSIDE ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND THE CAR WAS TOWED AWAY.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS (ABOUT 10) SINCE APRIL 2017, VEHICLE HAS DECELERATED TO VERY LOW SPEEDS, E.G., 10 MPH WHILE TRAVELING AT 35-40 MPH ON A CITY STREET, WHICH IS USUALLY ACCOMPANIED BY ENGINE DYING. THIS WAS REPORTED TO O'BRIEN HYUNDAI OF FORT MYERS, FL ON 4/20/17. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AFTER TEST DRIVING FOR 8 MILES. SINCE APRIL 2017, WE HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS FAILED ELECTRIC SWITCHING FUNCTIONS, E.G., DOOR OPENER SWITCHES WHILE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. WHILE THESE HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO O'BRIEN, THE COMPANY HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, BOTH MY WIFE AND I HAVE EXPERIENCE THE SMALLER PROBLEMS ON A DAILY BASIS, AND THE MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM DESCRIBED ABOVE ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
I WAS BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE AT A STOPLIGHT WHEN IT TURNED GREEN, ON A MAJOR CITY STREET, WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING. THE POWER REMAINED, THE DASHBOARD REMAINED LIT, THE RADIO ON, CLIMATE CONTROLS ON, PHONE REMAINED CONNECTED TO BLUETOOTH, BUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART FOR 5 MINUTES OR SO. WHEN I FINALLY GOT IT RESTARTED I DROVE IT STRAIGHT HOME; THE NEXT MORNING, IT RESTARTED JUST FINE, BUT I WAS RELUCTANT TO DRIVE IT AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY HAVE KEPT IT AND DRIVEN IT FOR 150 MILES SINCE THEN, AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. NO ERROR CODES HAVE SHOWN UP ON DIAGNOSTICS.
I DROVE 200 MILES FROM MY HOME TO CHARLEVOIX, MICHIGAN. WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A 'WHOOSHING SOUND' EVERY TIME I ACCELERATED. THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND AT NORMAL CITY DRIVING SPEEDS. RATHER THAN DRIVE THE CAR HOME, I TOOK IT TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP SOME 60 MILES AWAY AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. CAR HAS A 2.0TURBO ENGINE. THE INLET DUCT THAT BRINGS AIR INTO THE TURBO SEVERED AT THE POINT OF ATTACHMENT TO THE TURBO. THE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALER SAID THAT HE COULD NOT TELL IF THE DUCT MELTED OR WAS CUT. OTHER THAN OIL CHANGES, THE CAR HAS NEVER REQUIRED ENGINE SERVICE. HE DEEMED THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE OFF THE LOT., HE SAID IN HIS WRITE UP THAT ANY OBJECT COULD FIND ITS WAY INTO THE TURBO BECAUSE THE DUCT IS UNATTACHED. THIS WOULD LEAD TO TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE, AND HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITION. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE FRIDAY, OCTOBER13,2017. I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM THE DEALER TODAY THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD BY HYUNDAI THAT THERE IS NO PROMISED DELIVERY DATE SINCE NO PARTS ARE IN STOCK I SUSPECT THAT THERE MAY BE OTHER CUSTOMERS WHO REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM WHICH WOULD BE CAUSING THE STOCK-OUT SITUATION.
PROBLEMS STARTED WITH RATTLING NOISE FROM ENGINE, AND ENGINE LOOSING POWER/SURGING. THIS WAS 2 YEARS AGO WITH 20,000 MILES ON CAR, AND TOOK TO DEALER WHO APPLIED ECM UPDATE. WHICH IF ANYTHING MADE IT WORSE, AND CAR STARTED SURGING FORWARD IN SITUATIONS LIKE APPLYING BRAKES WHEN APPROACHING RED LIGHT. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO NEARLY REAR END SEVERAL CARS, AND PUSHED ME OUT IN TRAFFIC WHEN ENGINE SURGES UNEXPECTEDLY. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP, LIKE MANY OTHERS ALWAYS GET THE SAME ANSWER 'WE WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE ISSUE', AND EVEN WENT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP TO RECEIVE SAME ANSWER. CAR STILL HAS SAME PROBLEM, IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY, AND ALSO HAPPENS WHEN I HAVE HAD FRIENDS WITH ME OR DRIVE THE CAR. SO I'M NOT CRAZY, NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG, AND BELIEVE HYAUNDAI IS TRYING TO WAIT FOR POWER TRAIN WARRANTY TO EXPIRE. SINCE I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND NOW HAVE 94,000 MILES ON THE 2015 SONATA SPORT.
I LEFT HARRISBURG TO DROP 3 STUDENTS TO STATE COLLEGE, DRIVING FOR UBER ON 09/29/2017.AROUND 9:30PM IN LEWISTON IN MIFFLIN COUNTY, WE CAME ACROSS A SHORT TURN.I GOT A KIND OF SUDDEN SMALL SPEED. WE WERE OUT OF THE ROAD. I TRIED TO STOP AND PUT THE CAR BACK ON THE ROAD, TOO LATE. WE HIT A MOUNTAIN AND THE CAR WAS LYING ON HIS RIGHT SIDE.THANKS GOD NOBODY GOT HURT; JUST CHOCKED AND SOME SCRATCHES.AFTER READING THE DOCUMENTS MY INSURANCE COMPANY SENT TO ME, I REALIZED THERE WERE A RECALL ON MY CAR FOR TWO PROBLEMS.MY CAR USED TO HAVE THIS SMALL SPEED SOMETIMES I DIDN'T KNOW WHY. HYUNDAI MOTORS SENT ME A EMAIL ON OCTOBER 26TH TO LET ME KNOW ABOUT THE RECALL; TOO LATE WE ALREADY GOT CRASH. I WANT TO SAY THAT MY LAST INSPECTION WAS AT HYUNDAI BUT WE DIDN'T TELL ME ABOUT.
PURCHASED 2015 SONATA FOR SON. SONATA STARTED STALLING OUT AT LOW RPM, IDLING VERY ROUGH. WHEN IT UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS OUT, VERY DANGEROUS TO BRAKE, STEER. TOOK IT TO 2 HYUNDAI DEALERS, BOTH SAID CAR NEEDS ENGINE REPLACED, NEITHER COULD TELL ME EXACTLY WHY. SAID ENGINE IS ALL GUNKY. FIRST DEALER SAID IT WAS DUE TO METAL SHAVINGS IN OIL. SECOND DEALER TRIED TO BLAME US FOR POOR MAINTENANCE, EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE SERVICE RECORDS. CAR HAS 80,000 MILES. PAID $19,382 16 MONTHS AGO, $5800 REMAINS ON LOAN AND CAR IS WORTHLESS. $8000 TO REPLACE ENGINE. I AM 2ND OWNER. PURCHASE FROM ENTERPRISE CAR SALES, WITH 60,000 MILE WARRANTY. ALSO PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT AT 80,000 MILES, WE ARE OVER. I HAVE OWNED 4 CAMRYS AND 2 ACCORDS IN MY LIFE. ALL HAVE RUN AND BEEN SOLD AT AROUND 200,000 MILES. BIG MISTAKE TO TRUST HYUNDAI. MANY RECALLS ON SONATA ENGINES 2011-14, BUT NO ENGINE RECALL ON 2015...YET.

WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD IN MY CITY I ACCELERATED AND HEARD A BANGING NOISE IN MY ENGINE, WHEN I ACCELERATED THE NOISE GOT LOUDER. FINALLY, THE NOISE STOPPED AND AS I NOTICED THE NOISE GONE I ALSO NOTICED I COULD NO LONGER HEAR MY ENGINE. I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND MY SPEEDOMETER WAS COMPLETELY FROZEN WITH THE OIL LIGHT, ENGINE LIGHT, AND BATTERY LIGHT ON. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A RESIDENTIAL AREA WHERE MY CAR WAS PICKED UP AND TOWED. FAST FORWARD A FEW DAYS AND HYUNDAI IS NOW CLAIMING THAT THE ENGINE FAILURE IS DUE TO NEGLECT AS NOW THEY ARE REQUIRING ALL MAINTENANCE RECORDS FOR MY VEHICLE OR MY WARRANTY IS NULL. IF I CAN'T GET MY WHOLE MAINTENANCE HISTORY THEN I WAS TOLD THAT WILL BE A REAL PROBLEM AND MY SERVICE MAY BE DENIED! MIND YOU, 2014 SONATAS WERE RECALLED DUE TO THEIR ENGINE BUT I WAS ASSURED THE 2015 SONATAS HAVE A DIFFERENT ENGINE, DIFFERENT PART. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI, THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR WORK.
AIR INTAKE HOSE FROM THE AIR FILTER BOX TO THE TURBOCHARGER INLET - 2.0 TURBO ENGINE - MELTED AND BROKE. REDUCED POWER AND POTENTIALLY FOREIGN DEBRIS CAN ENTER THE TURBOCHARGER AND DAMAGE IT, REDUCING POWER EVEN FURTHER. APPARENTLY MANY OWNERS WITH THE 2.0 TURBO ENGINE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. I WENT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING AND THEY TOLD ME IT COULD BE A MONTH BEFORE THE BACK ORDERED PART ARRIVES. I WAS NOT OFFERED ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION.

HELLO, UNINTENDED ACCELERATION: MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA SUPERNATURALLY FLEW FORWARD WIDE OPEN AND CRASHED INTO MY HOUSE. 3 OR 4 AIRBAGS WENT OFF AND WHOLE FRONT END BAD. MY WIFE AND I WERE INSIDE WITH SEAT BELTS ON. WE HAD JUST DRIVEN BACK AND PULLED IN THE DRIVEWAY. I PUT IN PARK. THEN I DECIDED TO PULL UP A COUPLE FEET. PUT FOOT ON BRAKE PUT IN D AND- WHAM!!- LIKE A MISSILE IT WAS SCREAMING WIDE OPEN JUMPING FORWARD. (MY FOOT WAS ON BRAKE-NOT ON GAS-I SAW IT AFTER I GOT SENSE ENOUGH TO TURN OFF KEY) .ANYWAY, IN 1 SECOND WE WERE INTO THE DECK, TIRES SPINNING AND SMOKING AND ENGINE SCREAMING. SMOKE IN THE CAR, I THOUGHT IT WAS ON FIRE. I GET SENSE ENOUGH TO TURN THE IGNITION OFF. MY WIFE COULD NOT GET OUT AS PASSENGER SIDE DOOR BENT. FINALLY, SHE SQUEEZED OUT WHEN I PULLED ON IT. WE HAVE BRUISES AND MY BACK AND MY WIFE'S BACK ARE OUT. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND HYUNDAI HAS BEEN HAVING A LOT OF CARS WITH THIS. I HAVE TURNED INTO INSURANCE BUT THE ADJUSTER HAS NOT COME YET. I AM OUT 500 DELECTABLE. PLUS WHEN A CAR IS WRECKED IT IS WORTH LESS. AND I AM AFRAID TO GET BACK IN THIS CAR!!! WHAT IF WE WERE BEHIND A TRACTOR TRAILER WE WOULD BE DECAPITATED. The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that there was an abnormally strong odor of gasoline coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to determine where the odor was coming from. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 12,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (FIRST LUBE USA LOCATED AT 3614 W LINCOLN AVE, MILWAUKEE, WI 53215; (414) 647-8820) WHERE AN OIL FLUSH WAS PERFORMED AND THE OIL WAS REFILLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
MY ENGINE SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT THANK THE LORD! WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN WE STARTED TO HEAR A KNOCKING NOISE AND THE CAR STARTED TO DECELERATE. WE NOTICED THERE WAS WHITE SMOKE AS WELL. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART SO WE CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND SINCE IT WAS SATURDAY EVENING, (AFTER HOURS) WE HAD PARK THE CAR AT A NEARBY WALMART UNTIL MONDAY. I HAD TO DO THE WHOLE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SONG AND DANCE ALL OVER AGAIN MONDAY. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS VERY ACCOMMODATING. THEY WERE PLEASANT AND EVEN PROVIDED A LOANER CAR. THEY INFORMED ME THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED BUT SINCE MY CAR ONLY HAD 34,000 MILES IT SHOULD BE COVERED. THEY SAID THEY JUST HAD TO GET IT APPROVED BY HYUNDAI FIRST. AFTER A WEEK OF WAITING THEY CALLED ME UP AN TOLD ME HYUNDAI WOULD NOT BE COVERING THE VEHICLE DUE LACK OF MAINTENANCE (SIGHTED OIL CRUDE BUILD UP AS EVIDENCE) AND I WOULD NEED TO FORK OVER $5500. I GOT THE OIL CHANGED AND MAINTAINED THE CAR BUT FAILED TO KEEP DOCUMENTATION. UPON RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, IT APPEARS HYUNDAI HAS A HISTORY OF NOT STANDING BY THEIR WARRANTY AND LEAVING THEIR CUSTOMERS HIGH AND DRY. IN FACT THEY JUST SETTLED A LAW SUIT FOR THE SAME EXACT THING. SO WE PAID UP, WAITED A WEEK FOR THE REPAIRS AND NOW I'M BACK UP HERE A WEEK LATER WITH ANOTHER ENGINE PROBLEM (OVERHEATING). HYUNDAI DECLINES TO PAY TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, BUT I SUSPECT THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS OCCURRED IN PREVIOUS MODEL YEAR, FOR WHICH HYUNDAI IS REPLACING ENGINES.

THERE WERE ALSO NO ERROR COEDS IN THE LOG BUT IF THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN IT SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING SHOULD BE IN THE LOG. I'M EXTREMELY NERVOUS TO DRIVE THINKING THIS CAN HAPPEN AGAIN IN A MORE DIRE SITUATION (LIKE ON THE FREEWAY). I HAD THEM CHANGE OIL AND THEY SHOWED ME THAT REPLACEMENT DIPSTICK REGISTERED CORRECT OIL LEVEL. SO, EITHER THIS ENGINE IS OPERATING ( 38000 MILES) AT UNDER FILL, OVERFILL OR PROPER FILL LEVEL. BEEN USING MANUFACTURERS OIL VISCOSITY RECOMMENDATION (5W-20 AND DEALER USED 5W-30 SYN/BLD).

COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. NO WARNING AND IT DID NOT TRIGGER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
I READ AN ARTICLE ON A WEBSITE STATING THAT A CLASS ACTION SUIT WAS FILED AGAINST HYUNDAI RELATED TO ITS BLUE LINK SYSTEM. THE ARTICLE STATED THAT IF YOU ALLOW YOUR BLUE SUBSCRIPTION TO BE EXPIRED FOR MORE THAN ONE YEAR, HYUNDAI WOULD POSSIBLY PERMANENTLY DEACTIVATE YOUR BLUE LINK SYSTEM. MY SUBSCRIPTION HAD EXPIRED, SO I CONTACTED HYUNDAI AND REACTIVATED MY SUBSCRIPTION FOR ONE YEAR FOR $99. I WAS CONCERNED THAT IF THE BLUE LINK SYSTEM WAS PERMANENTLY DEACTIVATED IN MY CAR, THE RESALE VALUE OF MY CAR WOULD GO DOWN. I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS ISSUE UNTIL I READ THE ARTICLE LAST EVENING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE RPMS WOULD INCREASE AND THEN IDLE. WHEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE, THE MOTOR WOULD JERK VIOLENTLY. FINALLY, WHEN DRIVING AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO COME TO A STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL SEIZED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CRAIN HYUNDAI DEALER (LOCATED IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT METAL SHAVINGS WERE FOUND IN THE MOTOR AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V359000 (PARKING BRAKE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
