AFTER DRIVING THE CAR AND THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF IT WILL NOT CRANK AGAIN IMMEDIATELY. IT TAKES APPROXIMATELY 15-30 MINUTES FOR THE CAR TO COOL DOWN BEFORE STARTING AGAIN. IN STARTING THE CAR AGAIN, FUEL SMELL IS VERY STRONG AND THE CAR SHAKES WITH BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST/TAIL PIPE. THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE. IN ADDITION,WHEN FEET IS ON BRAKES, THE TRANSMISSION REVEL UP AS IF THE CAR IS GOING TO TAKE OFF. THIS HAPPENS WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AND COMING TO A STOP. THE DEALER HAS DUPLICATED THE CRANKING PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD SEVERAL COMPONENTS WERE BEING REPLACED ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IF THE FUEL PUMP,FUEL PUMP WIRING, CLEANING OF CORROSION FROM THE WIRING HARNESS WAS DONE, THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT CRANK AFTER DRIVING THE CAR AND TURNING IT OFF. AFTER CALLING THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS OFFICE SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS TOLD THAT A CASE MANAGER WOULD CALL, THE CASE MANAGER NEVER CALLED. THE DEALER REQUESTED A FIELD ENGINEER. AFTER THE FUEL SMELL CONTINUE TO WORSEN, TELEPHONE CONSUMER AFFAIRS FOR THE FOURTH TIME. THIS TIME, THE FIRST RESPONDER ANSWERING THE PHONE LAUGHED WHEN I TOLD HER THAT I WAS AFRAID OF DRIVING THE CAR AND FEARED THAT IT WOULD CATCH ON FIRE OR BLOW UP ACCORDING TO MECHANICS. THE REPRESENTATIVE SNICKERED! SHE TOLD ME THAT THE FIELD ENGINEER DETERMINED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS HAD BEEN DAMAGED WHEN I SUPPOSEDLY PRE-WIRED THE CAR FOR AN AFTER MARKET ALARM SYSTEM. HE DECIDED TO VOID THE WARRANTY SO THE DEALER STOPPED TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO FIX THE WIRING HARNESS. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS CONCLUSION IS THAT I NEVER HAD AN AFTER MARKET ALARM PUT ON THE CAR NOR DID I BUY A CAR WITH AN AFTER MARKET ALARM SYSTEM. I HAVE EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM FROM JANUARY 2011 AND CONTINUES TO EXPERIENCE. I CALLED FOR THE CEO OF HYUNDAI WHO NEVER RESPONDED. THE CASE IS WITH REGIONAL WHO HAS YET TO CALL.
2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON WITH ONLY 22,000 MILES ON IT IS NOW EXPERIENCING SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. HYUNDAI IS IN TOTAL DENIAL AND SQUIRTED SOME LUBRICANT ON A LINKAGE AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. AFTER NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS I DEMANDED THAT THE SAME TECH COME OUT AND DRIVE IT FOR HIS SELF. AFTER GETTING ON AN INTERSTATE THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED TO THE TECH AND NOW THEY ARE STATING THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG JUST NOT SAYING WHAT. SPORADIC SUDDEN ACCELERATION IS EXPERIENCED WITH NO WARNING. THE GAS PEDAL WILL ACTUALLY FALL RITE FROM UNDER YOUR FOOT OR MORE PRECISELY IS SUCKED OUT FROM UNDER YOUR FOOT. THE ENGINE TACKS OUT AT TOP END AND IF DRIVEN FOR A WHILE THIS WILL SLOW DOWN TO NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS.BRAKING IS IMPEDED BY SOME MECHANISM AND DOES NOT STOP THE CAR AND AFTER STANDING LITERALLY ON THE BREAK PEDAL I WAS FORCED TO SHUT THE CAR DOWN AND COAST WILDLY INTO A BREAK DOWN LANE. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCED NOW FOR 3 MONTHS.CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES NOW FOR THIS ISSUE. THE DESCRIBED SET OF OCCURRENCES ABOVE HAVE TAKEN PLACE A NUMBER OF TIMES AND WITH VARYING DEGREES OF SEVERITY. WHEN WILL THESE CAR COMPANIES GET THE MESSAGE? HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO BE KILLED BY THESE KINDS OF ENGINEERING FLAWS BEFORE REAL ACTION IS TAKEN? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON APRIL 21, 2010 WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, SHE HEARD A NOISE AND NOTICED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY HAD FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE PART NEEDED TO MAKE THE REPAIRS WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A TIME FRAME FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 27,508.
MY 2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON KEEPS STALLING AFTER BEING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP THE ENGINE STALLS OUT. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER IN WICH THE CHANGED THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR, THAT WAS 5 DAYS AGO , TODAY THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. AS I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER, IF THEY CAN NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO STALL THEN THEY CAN NOT TELL ME WHATS GOING ON. READING ON LINE IT APPEARS THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE!! *TR
2007 HYUNDAI TUSCON. CONSUMER STATES AIRBAG SYSTEM FAILURE. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED SHE SUFFERED A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. SHE REAR ENDED THE FIRST VEHICLE, CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF ANOTHER WHICH THEN SET OFF A CHAIN REACTION. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. FOUR MONTHS AFTER SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, SHE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL REGARDING THE AIR BAG INFLATOR MODULE. THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. SINCE THE ACCIDENT, THE CONSUMER QUESTIONED WHETHER THE AIR BAG INFLATOR MODULE WAS REPLACED WITH AN EQUALLY DEFECTIVE PART OR WAS IT REPLACED AT ALL. *JB
I WAS IN A HEADON COLLISION IN MY 2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE AIRBAGS SIS NOT DEPLOY AND I ENDED UP GETTING HIT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL TO MY CHEST. THE OTHER VEHICLE INVOLVED AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE WAS GREATLY DAMAGED. MY CONCERN IT THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR SEAT BELT THAT EXTENDS FROM THE CEILING AND SECURES THE PASSENGER IN THE MIDDLE IS A SAFETY HAZARD. TO RELEASE THE SEAT BELT, HE HAS TO USE HIS CAR KEYS TO SLIT THE HOOK. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, AN OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN TIME. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SHOWED HIM HOW TO UNLOCK THE SEAT BELT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,500.
I WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF MY 2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON AT ABOUT 25-30MPH. MY VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND THE DRIVER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED TWICE; ONCE BY THE DEALER AND THE SECOND TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BY A CERTIFIED TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED AND THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SEEDS. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED FOR THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 240,000. UPDATED 08/27/13*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE FIRST TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 90,000, THEN THE SECOND TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 189,000. THE CONSUMER NOW NEEDS A THIRD TRANSMISSION. A CODE WAS SCANNED, AND IT READ THE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH RELAY SWITCH NEEDED D TO BE REPLACED.
INTERIOR SYSTEMS,FRONT SEATS AND HEAD REST ASSEMBLY,THE SEATS IN FRONT I DRIVE MY CAR ALL DAY FOR MY BUSINESS AND MY NECK SHOULDERS ARE SO STIFF AND CAUSING HEADACHES AND MY BACK IS VERY SORE AND MOSTLY CAUSE THE SITTING ON THE FRONT SEAT IS VERY HARD, AND THE HEAD REST IS IN A VERY STRANGE ANGLE EVEN WHEN I PUT THE SEAT BACK A BIT IT MAKES ME HOLD MY NECK FORWARD AND IT IS NOT GOOD. THAT IS THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE FOR THIS VEHICLE. *JB
STRUCK THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH IN THE REAR, COMPLETELY CRUSHING THE FRONT MY VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED! SUSTAINED BRUISES TO CHEST FROM SEAT BELT, STIFF AND SORE NECK AND BACK. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE SITTING IDLE AT A TRAFFIC STOP, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL INCREASE IN ENGINE RPMS AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARRANT. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THIS WAS THE THIRD CRASH RESULTING FROM UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATION WOULD OCCUR, THE VEHICLE COULD BE STOPPED BY SWITCHING THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28000.
I PURCHASED A 2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON IN NOVEMBER OF 2006 AND WHILE DRIVING IT ON A CITY STREET ON 2/8/07 WHEN I WAS PULLING FROM A STOP WHEN MY BACK WINDOW EXPLODED. THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO OBJECT THROWN AT THE VEHICLE - THERE SEEMS TO BE NO EXPLANATION OF WHY THIS OCCURRED. *JB
