last June at about 82k miles my car started making a knocking noise while in town. Decided to drive the short distance home and right as I pulled in the driveway the engine light flashed briefly but didn't stay on. First thing I did was check the oil and there was no oil in the engine at all. Called all around to dealers and since this was in the middle of the pandemic it was a nightmare and I had to wait like 4 weeks and get the car towed twice to a shop that had the shortest wait. The car had regular oil changes and wasn't overdue for an oil change. There was no oil spots that would suggest it had been leaking and zero smoke to show it was burning off the engine at any time, there also was no check oil light that came on at any time to warn that the oil was low. I wasn't able to be provided a loaner until they could diagnose the vehicle and confirm it wasn't my negligence. Turns out this is a regular issue with this model/engine. I can't imagine what it would have been like had I been driving 70mph down the freeway. Now the engine is at 101k miles and it came with only a 10k 12 month warranty and it is now going through a quart of oil every 1k miles it seems. Have an appointment AGAIN to have it looked at in but not until the first of November. So now I have to check my oil all the time to make sure it doesn't run dry again...
Passenger front and rear doors do not open. Latches frozen and dog was trapped in front seat. Dog was able to crawl over driver seat to get out. Dealership Atlantic Hyundai in West Islip NY evaluated car and will charge over $1600 to repair two doors with 68,000 miles on car out of warranty. This problem is corrected in Korea without a charge, according to my internet research.
PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG IS FAULTY. DEALER STATED THAT THERE IS NO OBVIOUS REASON WHY IT WOULD BE DAMAGED. THERE WAS A SIMILAR RECALL ON THESE PASSENGER AIRBAGS FOR A PREVIOUS MODEL.
Hyundai Tucson door latch failure. Unable to open rear passenger door from the inside or the outside. If I were to be involved in an accident with passengers in the vehicle there would be no way for the passengers to exit the vehicle, which could result in someone dying. This vehicle has only 55,000 miles on it and Hyundai is aware that this is an issue on their vehicles but is failing to address it. Would like Hyundai to address this issue before it does result in a fatality.
BOTH REAR DOORS WILL NOT OPEN NEITHER FROM THE OUTSIDE OR THE INSIDE, THE DOOR ACTUATORS FAILED 3 MONTHS APART. I'M VERY CONCERN CHILDERN ARE INVOLVED, AND I AM NOT SAFETY CONFIDENT WITH THE OTHER TWO FRONT DOORS! THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY MATTER - HYUNDAI HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE EXCEPT REPLACE THE ACTUATORS WITH THE SAME STYLE FAULTY ACTUATORS THAT WILL FAIL AGAIN - THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR SAFETY OF MY FAMILY
WHILE STOPPED,, WITH CAR POWERED BOTH ON AND OFF, REAR LEFT DOOR LOCK MECHANISM WORKING BUT DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE.
The driver side window motor failed and window is stuck in the closed position. The front passenger window motor has failed and that window is stuck in the down position. Last, we are unable to open the driver side rear door where my daughter sits from the inside or outside. This is not only frustrating but a major safety issue for occupants in the vehicle.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V543000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WERNER HYUNDAI (252 CAPITAL CIR SW, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32304) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. IT LOCKS/UNLOCKS WITHOUT AN ISSUE, BUT THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLES DO NOT WORK. MY CHILD COULD BE TRAPPED IN THE CAR IN AN EMERGENCY. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
REAR PASSENGER DOORS FAIL TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. PROBLEM OCCURRED WITHOUT ANY PRECIPITATING EVENTS TO BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT HAND REAR PASSENGER DOORS WITHIN MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. DEALER HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. LOCKING MECHANISM, ACTUATOR, ASSEMBLY REQUIRED REPLACEMENT.
My passenger side door and back door not opening from outside. We have a kid in the seat so we have a child lock in the back. Because of that we couldn't able to open the door. When I called hyundai about that they said they will first evaluate for that I need to pay and then they charge me for the 2 doors. This is very absurd.
Oil consume really fast, or Oil burn really quick (it supposed to works 5000 miles after oil change, but its burn about 1500-2000 miles). Because of that problem engine get heat really quick and their is maximum possibility for fire (due to heat), fire may cause lack of engine oil. Power (pick up) of car is really low, it is really slow when stop and go on the road, either FREEWAY or on the Street way. If a car could not pick up or drive forward as normal standard their is great possibility for accident, in freeway more possible and street way as well. I made web based research about these problems, most of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson facing this problem, means this is not my personal problem but THERE IS PROBLEM ALL OF HYUNDAI TUSCON of THIS MODEL. So, Hyundai must solve this problem. Because they know car was defective while they sold us, but defect broke out after long time. There are several 2016 Hyundai Tucson facing typically same problem. This fact proved that car was defective while they sold it to their customers. Most of the time I change oil and do servicing at Hyundai Dealer, but they never tell me about this problem. But When I realized it my warranty was expired. I went to inspect my vehicle with Hyundai Dealer but they want to charge to cure this problem, but, if their is manufacturing defect they have to take care free of cost. Because while they sale the car they did not revealed this problem it is misrepresentation. Police, Insurance Representatives or other did not inspected my vehicle. Their were not any warning lamps message or other symptoms of the problem until now, but when we drive we can feel it. Please do the web based short research to confirm my issues, and help us to solve this problem. In addition, they did not notice me about 2020 break recall, I know this form this web site today.
THE DOOR ACTUATORS STOP WORKING AND YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR USING THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLES. YOU CAN HEAR THEM UNLOCK, BUT THE DOOR STILL WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN IF THERE WERE TO BE AN EMERGENCY WHERE THE CAR NEEDED TO BE EVACUATED. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY, WHETHER IT IS OFF OR THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. TRANSMISSION SOMETIMES PAUSES WHEN YOU START TO PULL OFF.
THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR SUDDENLY WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE CHILD LOCK WAS DISENGAGED, AND NO AMOUNT OF LOCKING/UNLOCKING WOULD FIX IT. WE WERE IN THE CAR AND IT WORKED NORMALLY, THEN WHEN WE ARRIVED TO OUR DESTINATION COULD NOT GET MY KIDS OUT. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE DOOR HANDLE FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. IT HAPPENED OUT OF NOWHERE. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS, AS NOT ONLY COULD I BIT GET MY KIDS OUT QUICKLY IN AN EMERGENCY, I ALSO CAN'T LET THEM OUT CURBSIDE, AND AM FORCED TO PULL THEM OUT OF THE BACK SEAT WITH CARS FLYING BY. I HAVE MAJOR CONCERNS WITH ALL OF THE REMAINING DOORS FAILING, AND IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A CHRONIC WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH HYUNDAI VEHICLES, AND TUCSONS IN PARTICULAR. I'M FEARFUL THAT THE DOORS WILL JUST SEIZE UP AND WE WON'T BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STATIONARY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR AND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the starter had failed and needed to be replaced. The starter was replaced. The independent mechanic also informed the contact that the brake pedal needed to be replaced, and the rear trailing arm was corroded and could fracture while driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The independent mechanic stated that the suspension front spring and coil spring could damage the tire overtime. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V543000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 37,861.
YES, I HAVE A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. IN 2019 I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY DOOR OPENING ON MY DRIVER SIDE. DEALERSHIP DID DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND OUT THE DOOR ACTUATOR WAS BAD AND THEY REPLACED UNDER HYUNDAI WARRANTY. 3 WEEKS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY PASSENGER REAR DOOR. THIS TIME, THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AT ALL! FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. IT WAS COMPLETELY STUCK SHUT. A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD LEAD TO A FATALITY DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION OF THE VEHICLE. AGAIN, TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID THE DIAGNOSTIC FINDING THE SAME ISSUE AS BEFORE AND REPLACED THE DOOR ACTUATOR. NOW IT IS APRIL OF 2021 AND I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY PASSENGER DOOR. SAME ISSUE, BUT NOW MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TOTAL REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND HYUNDAI SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN POSING A SAFETY CONCERN. MANY OTHER OWNERS OF HYUNDAI TUCSON OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUES. HYUNDAI SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR OF THIS ISSUE.
My transmission gears shift keeps on sticking in the park position and also I’ve been having to replace my left side parking lights I believe it’s an electric problem or fuse and the dealership seems to can’t fixed this issue with my vehicle each time I take it there
THE DOOR ACTUATORS ON THE HYUNDAI KEEP FAILING WHICH MAKES IT SO THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED. I'VE ALREADY REPLACED 2 AND HAD 2 MORE GO OUT THIS PAST WEEK. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. HYUNDAI WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. TAMIAMI HYUNDAI (6780 AIRPORT-PULLING RD, NAPLES, FL 34109) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
OUT OF NOWHERE, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR REFUSES TO OPEN. THE REMOTE CAN LOCK/UNLOCK THE LOCKING KNOB, BUT THE DOOR IS IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN A STATIONARY STATE. THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN PROBLEM AMONGST 2016 TUCSON OWNERS. PLEASE REFER TO TWO ONLINE FORUMS. HTTPS://WWW.HYUNDAI-FORUMS.COM/THREADS/REAR-PASSENGER-DOOR-WONT-OPEN.603329/ HTTPS://WWW.CARGURUS.COM/CARS/DISCUSSION-T57988_DS1084478 ALSO, IN KOREA, THE SAME VEHICLE IS ON RECALL FOR THE DOOR LATCH PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IF THE DOOR DOES NOT OPERATE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, HOW CAN SOMEBODY EXIT FROM THE CAR TO SAFETY?
Engine is consuming oil and we are waiting for it to totally fail. We have a long list of things. These are notes from the end of the process when we gave up. I responded after the fourth consumption test on 11/28/2022 asking for them to re-open my case and have not heard from them so I called on 12/9/2022 to speak to my case manager. We started this journey with 118,000 miles and now we have close to 164,000. Went from 1qt every 1000 miles to 2qt’s every 1000 miles. Had to get another case manager to leave a message for my case manager to call me back. I don’t even know if they re opened my case. Hyundai has refused to admit the have a large issue with their GDI motors. They should not be consuming oil as much as they are. Only Theta motors are being covered in Non Turbo cars. This is my second vehicle currently owned with a gamma turbo motor. This one is waiting to fail and the other one has failed.
The passenger side front and rear doors can no longer be opened either from the inside or outside even when th vehicle is unlocked. The mechanism that activates the latches seems to be working as it can be heard on both doors, but the latches themselves seem to fail frequently. This results in a safety hazard since exiting the vehicle in case of an accident where the the only side that's not blocked is the right one becomes impossible except by crawling through the door windows which may not fit the occupant(s).
I not only have a recall on my vehicle but I also have a serious problem with acceleration. On multiple occasions I've almost gotten into accident due to my vehicle accelerating at a very low speed or not accelerating at all.
WHEN DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED, SUCH AS IN A LINE OF CARS GOING THROUGH A DRIVE THRU, THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SKIP. ALMOST HOPPING ALONG RATHER THAN SLOWLY MOVING. I HAVE OBSERVED IT HAPPENING IN BOTH ECO MODE AND REGULAR DRIVING MODE. THIS IS NOT A CONSTANT BUT FREQUENT. I ALSO HAVE INSTANCES OF WHERE IT DOESN'T PICK UP SPEED AND TAKES TIME TO SHIFT GEARS. I THINK IT MAY BE THE TRANSMISSION SKIPPING AND NOT SHIFTING GEARS APPROPRIATELY CAUSING IT TO HOP OR JUMP. AT ALL TIME THE CARE WAS IN MOTION AND ON CITY STREETS NEVER ON A HIGHWAYS.
THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HAS STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND PARKED, AND AFTER WORKING CORRECTLY JUST MINUTES BEFORE, NOW IT WON'T OPEN FROM EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE CAR, IT IS STUCK IN THE CLOSED POSITION AND IT IS VERY UNSAFE AS THAT IS THE SIDEWALK FACING DOOR WHICH WON'T OPEN FORCING PEOPLE TO EXIT ON THE STREET SIDE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AFFECTING MANY 2016 TUCSON CUSTOMERS. HTTPS://WWW.CARGURUS.COM/CARS/DISCUSSION-T57988_DS1084478
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR DOOR FAILED TO OPEN WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO OURISMAN HYUNDAI (3516 LAUREL FORT MEADE RD, LAUREL, MD 20724, (301) 973-3359 TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR ACTUATOR FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,510.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INTERIOR OR THE EXTERIOR. IT WAS PARKED AND I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR AND IT WILL NOT MOVE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT GET OUT THAT DOOR. THIS HAPPENED TO 2 OTHER DOORS ALSO. ONE WAS COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, IT IS NOW PAST MY WARRANTY.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. THE LOCK CLICKS APPROPRIATELY WHEN LOCKED AND UNLOCKED BUT THE DOOR WILL STILL NOT OPEN. AFTER LOTS OF ATTEMPTS IT WILL SUDDENLY OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THEN LATER WHEN YOU TRY AGAIN, IT WON'T OPEN AGAIN.
This vehicle is under recall for its antilock braking system. I brought the vehicle to a dealership on 10 April for the repair. They didn't have the necessary parts in stock. When I called back two months later. Still no parts. It's now been more than 5 months. Which I believe to be proof that the dealership is "unable to remedy the defect within a reasonable time." Instead of responding to calls, Jim Ellis Hyundai of Atlanta (5785 Peachtree Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30341) puts me on hold indefinitely. I'd really like to be able to use my garage again.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN HIS DRIVEWAY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,518.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR DOOR FAILED TO OPEN AS NEEDED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. WILL NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE OR FROM WITHIN THE VEHICLE.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR OF MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON NO LONGER OPENS AT ALL, FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. AS I HAVE A YOUNG CHILD AND NEPHEWS WHO ARE REGULARLY IN MY CAR IN CAR SEATS, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. APPARENTLY, HYUNDAI IS NOT WILLING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT, WHICH I HAVE FOUND IS A PROBLEM ACROSS MANY HYUNDAI YEARS AND MODELS. THE COST OF A DEALERSHIP TO FIX IS UPWARDS OF $1000, WHICH IS PROHIBITIVE AND UNREALISTIC.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR (THEN A DAY LATER'DOORS) WON'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUT EVEN WHEN MANUALLY UNLOCKED WHETHER OR NOT THE CAR IS ON OR OFF. WE WERE ON A TRIP AT THE TIME AND OUR KIDS WERE HAVING TO CRAWL OVER FROM THE FRONT SEAT. WE CALLED HYUNDAI. THEIR TEMPORARY FIX WAS TO UNLOCK THE CAR AND JERK THE HANDLE HARD FROM THE OUTSIDE. THEY SAID THAT THE SYSTEM SOMETIMES' FREEZES UP'. THIS WORKS FROM THE OUTSIDE (NOT INSIDE), AND CONTINUES TO FREEZE UP EVEN AFTER ' THE HYUNDAI FIX'. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH OTHER 2016 HYUNDAI MODELS. IF YOU LOOK UP THE PROBLEM ONLINE, YOU WILL SEE MANY POSTS ABOUT IT.
1.DRIVER SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. IT EVENTUALLY WORKED BY PULLING REALLY HARD FROM OUTSIDE. 2. DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE BUT WILL FROM INSIDE. IT IS OBVIOUSLY UNLOCKED WHEN TRYING TO OPEN. THE ACTUATOR IS THE MOST LIKELY COMPONENT THAT IS FAILING. THE MECHANISM WILL NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE KEY EITHER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN IT'S 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND I CAN'T GET A CHILD OUT OF THE BACKSEAT. OR FOR FIRST RESPONDERS SENT TO AID SOMEONE TRAPPED IN THE CAR. I'VE READ OF MULTIPLE FAILURES AFTER SEARCHING FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. IT HAPPENS A LOT TO MANY HUNDAI MODELS OVER THE PAST 6-8 YEARS.
UNEXPECTED CHECK ENGINE AND ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHTS CAME. THERE WAS A SUDDEN KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT/ENGINE AREA SO I PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY TO TURN OFF. TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO NEAREST HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN.
ON MY 2016 HYUNDIA TUCSON THE LEFT REAR DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK AND CAN NOT BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. SOMETIMES I COULD HIT THE DOOR AND IT WOULD OPEN BUT NOW IT WILL NOT.
3 OF THE 4 DOORS DO NOT OPEN EITHER FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE , I GET SCARED NOW NOT KNOWING IF I'M GOING TO GET TRAPPED IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION
MULTIPLE DOORS UNABLE TO OPEN WHEN MANUALLY UNLOCKED, FROM THE OUTSIDE HANDLE AND ALSO FROM THE INSIDE HANDLE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM.
First, in 2019, my front driver’s side door stopped working. I could only open it from the inside if I kept my doors unlocked and eventually couldn’t open it at all and I had to crawl in and out of the passenger seat when it wasn’t working. The dealership repaired it because it was under warranty but I still had to pay for everything but the part. Now, In 2021 my front passenger door is doing the same thing. What’s worse? My rear passenger door won’t open AT ALL. I have two children and I have to pull them out of the window on occasion. We had to pull over on the freeway in an emergency and I had to PULL MY CHILDREN OUT OF THE WINDOW. If we’re in an accident I’m terrified of what will happen since we can’t use half of the doors. This is a major safety issue and I’m terrified for my family to use this vehicle. Since my warranty expired 3 months before the second and third door had the issue, it’s going to cost me over $1400 to get this repaired. I’m a single mother of two and this is causing hardship in addition to the safety issue. I’m getting it repaired and I can update with the invoice of the repairs.
Engine failed and had to be replaced.
DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURE. DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUT. OCCUPANTS COULD BE TRAPPED. 4 MOS OUTSIDE OF 5 YR WARRANTY. 200 MILES REMAINING ON 60,000 MI WARRANTY. $800 REPAIR AT WWW.HYUNDAIOFORANGEPARK.COM/. HYUNDAI MESSAGE BOARD SAY TO EXPECT PASSENGER SIDE TO FAIL SOON AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE PASSENGER'S AND DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED TO UNLOCK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ABC HYUNDAI (6825 REDWOOD ST, LAS VEGAS, NV 89118, (702) 475-8698) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.
THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE AFTER IT HAS BEEN LOCKED AND UNLOCKED WITH KEY FOB OR KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND LOCKED WITH KEY FOB THEN WOULD NOT OPEN. YOU HAVE TO CLIMB THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE AND OPEN FROM INSIDE.
PASSENGER FRONT AND DRIVER REAR DOORS DO NOT OPEN TO GET IN OR OUT OF VEHICLE. YOU GET STUCK IN THE CAR AND CANNOT EXIT OUT THESE DOORS! REAL SAFETY HAZARD IF YOU GET STUCK IN THE CAR.
PASSENGER SIDE DOORS, FRONT & REAR, FAIL TO UNLOCK OR OPEN WITH THE INTERIOR DOOR LOCK SWITCH ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR OR FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. USING THE LOCK/UNLOCK ON THE KEY FOB DOES NOT WORK, EITHER. ADDITIONALLY, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.
