THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID OVER HEATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, ENGINE/TRANSMISSION LAGS AND ENGINE BOGS DOWN. AFTER ABOUT 1-2 SECONDS, CAR WILL THEN ACCELERATE TOO QUICKLY. UNABLE TO SAFELY PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC FEARING CAR WILL INCH INTO STREET TOO SLOWLY AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A CONSTANT ISSUE FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT IT NEW FROM DEALER. THE CAR NOW HAS 5100 MILES AND THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE HESITATION.

ALSO, WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED AND THE "STOP SAFELY TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE HIGH" MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50.
MY TUCSON SLOWS DOWN WHEN I PRESS DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR TO SPEED UP. IT DID THIS MULTIPLE TIMES ON MY TRIP FROM INDIANA TO COLORADO. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! I SAW AN UPCOMING RECALL WHICH HYUNDAI DOES NOT HAVE ANY FIX FOR YET, BUT IT APPEARS TO ONLY BE ON SPECIFIC ONES WITH DUAL CLUTCH. I DON'T THINK MINE HAS THAT, BUT IT DEFINITELY HAS SAFETY ISSUES AND HYUNDAI WILL NOT ASSIST ME WITH IT. THERE ARE MULTIPLE OTHER ISSUES WITH MY NEW VEHICLE ALSO WHICH I CANNOT GET ASSISTANCE WITH AND HAVE FILED MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS, MULTIPLE PLACES.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (GERALD HYUNDAI, 209 HANSEN BLVD, NORTH AURORA, IL 60542, 630-907-8500) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
IT DOESN'T ALWAYS GO. YOU PUSH THE GAS IT REVS UP AND THEN DOESN'T MOVE. OR MOVES INCREDIBLY SLOW. NOT ALL THE TIME BUT NOT AT GOOD TIMES EITHER. USUALLY HAPPENS AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP OR IF YOU'D SLOWED DOWN AND GO TO ACCELERATE. STARTED ABOUT A WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT IT MAYBE ONCE A WEEK AND NOW IT'S A FEW TIMES A WEEK THIS HAPPENS.
CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE SMOOTHLY. WHEN TURNING FROM A STOP, CAR HESITATES. WHEN MERGING WITH TRAFFIC, CAR HESITATES. CAR ACCELERATES TOO FAST FROM A STOP WHEN TEMPERATURE IS OVER 85 F. TRANSMISSION IS TOO INCONSISTENT. MAKES DRIVING THIS CAR A GAMBLE WITH YOUR LIFE. AFTER SEVERAL REPAIRS BY DEALER TO FIX PROBLEMS, THEY NOW SAY THIS TRANSMISSION IS A HYBRID. IT WORKS MORE LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. IT WAS SOLD AS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN CORRECT PROBLEM. THE REPAIRS THEY HAVE MADE ARE; RECALL UPDATE DCT CONTROL LOGIC, REPLACE TEMP. SENSOR AND ECU UPDATE DCT; SEAL VACUUM PUMP UPDATE TCU (RESET).
ON JANUARY 11, 2016 I WAS GOING ON AN ENTRANCE RAMP TO INTERSTATE 10 IN JACKSONVILLE, FL. AND AS I WAS ENTERING THE INTERSTATE, THERE WAS A LAG TIME IN THE ENGINE, AND POWER WAS NOT GETTING TO THE WHEELS. I HAD THE ACCELERATOR FLOORED AND IT JUST WOULDN'T MOVE. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT PROPELLED ME FORWARD VERY FAST. I HAD A SEMI RIGHT BEHIND ME, AND I COULDN'T GO ANYWHERE UNTIL IT FINALLY KICKED IN. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF THAT TRUCK WOULD HAVE HIT ME. THE VEHICLE HAD 4703 MILES ON IT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON A BUSY STREET ON MARCH 20, 2016. I HAD STOPPED AT A LIGHT, AND WHEN I WENT FORWARD, IT GOT UP TO 18 MPH AND THEN JUST NOTHING, NO MOVEMENT AT ALL. THE TACH SAID THE ENGINE WAS REVVING, BUT I WAS GOING NOWHERE. THIS HAPPENED AT THE NEXT 7 TRAFFIC LIGHTS/STOP SIGNS AND EACH TIME WAS THE SAME THING, 18 MPH STOPPING, AND PROPELLING ME AT 33 MPH. THIS WAS EACH AND EVERY TIME. THE MILEAGE WAS 6695 AT THE TIME. THERE IS A SERIOUS LAG TIME IN THE 1.6 LITER ENGINE, THAT HYUNDAI HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF. I CONTACTED THEM BOTH TIMES, AND THE CASE # IS 8735263. THEY BASICALLY JUST TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG AS IT DIDN'T REGISTER ON THE COMPUTER EITHER TIME. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT HAS HAPPENED TO MANY, MANY OTHERS ACROSS THE US. I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR NOW AS I FEAR THAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, I COULD BE KILLED, OR SOMEONE ELSE COULD BE HURT/ KILLED. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN SEPT.2015, AND IF I HAD BEEN TOLD THERE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS, I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT IT. I CAN'T GET RID OF IT, AND I CAN'T TRADE IT IN ON ANOTHER VEHICLE, SO I'M BASICALLY SCREWED AND STILL OWE 64 MORE PAYMENTS OF $332.00 ON IT. I FEEL THE DEALERSHIP AND HYUNDAI IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SELLING ME SOMETHING THAT COULD BE A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
I PURCHASED MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON IN MARCH. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I'M SCARED FOR MY LIFE AND CHILDREN'S LIFE. MY TUSCAN WILL BE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT , STOP SIGN, OR WHERE EVER IT FEELS LIKE NOT GOING. I PUSH THE PEDAL TO GO AND IT DOESN'T. AT TIMES IT WILL JERK AS WELL. ONE TIME, I WAS AT A RED LIGHT AND I TRIED TO GO AND IT WOULDN'T LET ME. I ALMOST GOT HIT BY A VEHICLE. THANK GOODNESS BY CHILDREN WASN'T WITH ME. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR INTO THE DEALER 4 TIMES. THEY KEPT MY TUSCAN FOR ALMOST A MONTH. IT'S AUGUST AND THEY HAVE MY TUSCAN AGAIN. I STILL DON'T HAVE IT.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN JAN 2016 AND HAVE LESS THAN 2000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I AM HAVING DCT TRANSMISSION ISSUES. HAD NOTICED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE IS VERY SLUGGISH AND HAS SOME DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND AT TIMES IT LURCHES FORWARD. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT AND ONGOING ISSUE, BUT VERY TROUBLESOME, NONE THE LESS. THIS OCCURS DURING NORMAL IN TOWN TRAFFIC AND ESPECIALLY GOING UP HILLS FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN ISSUES IN TRAFFIC WHERE IT ACCELERATES UNEXPECTEDLY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS IN A SEVEN DAY PERIOD, AFTER DECIDING THAT THIS IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT TIMES. WHEN I MADE THE INITIAL APPT THE RECEPTIONISTS STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES IN FOR THIS ISSUE. THE INITIAL TIME AT THE DEALER, THEY COMPLETED THE LATCH RECALL AND RESET THE COMPUTER TO RELEARN THE SYSTEM, HOPING THAT WOULD BE THE SAVING GRACE. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER AND THE SOUND WAS SO LOUD WHILE DRIVING, THAT I PULLED OVER AND THE SOUND DIED DOWN AT BIT. MADE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO TAKE IN THE VEHICLE THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE AND THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS NOT SURE WHAT WAS GOING ON. IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK TO GO BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALER TO HEAR THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. THE DEALER ACTS LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE CONCERN. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IT'S THE DESIGN OF THE CLUTCH THAT GIVES DRIVERS THE SLUGGISH FEEL. I DECIDED TO COME BACK TO HYUNDAI TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE AND I DEEPLY REGRET THAT DECISION.

NOT LONG AFTER I GOT THE CAR I BEGAN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION. MY CAR WOULD BE VERY SLOW TO RESPOND WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR, WHICH COULD HAVE LED TO NUMEROUS COLLISIONS (FOR EXAMPLE, THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHERE I'M TURNING LEFT AND NEED TO GO BEFORE ONCOMING TRAFFIC REACHES ME BUT THE CAR HESITATES TO MOVE. THIS HESITATION IS ALSO OFTEN EVIDENT WHEN I'M TRYING TO SPEED UP AND MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY). I ENDED UP EMAILING HYUNDAI USA IN MARCH OF 2017 TO INFORM THEM OF MY ACCELERATION ISSUES. I WAS SURPRISED TO RECEIVE AN EMAIL AND A PHONE CALL BACK, AND WAS HOPEFUL THEY WOULD PROVIDE SOME ANSWERS THAT WOULD HELP FIX THE ISSUE, BUT IN THE END, THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED WAS BASICALLY 'WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO ABOUT IT?' I AM NOW EXPERIENCING ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR A LITTLE WHILE IT WILL JERK AND SHUDDER AS I PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR. IT WILL ALSO DO THIS AFTER ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP.

DURING THE FIRST AND SECOND VISITS, THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. DURING THE THIRD VISIT, IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-633-5151 AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9919336. MOTION ON HIGHWAY, TRANSMISSION JUST SLOWS CAR DOWN CAUSING CARS IN REAR ALMOST HITTING MY CAR. SOMETIMES WHEN GOING FROM STOP, TRANSMISSION DOES NOT GO IN CAR IN GEAR AND JUST REVS. WHILE GOING FROM STOP SIGN CAR STARTS TO GO THEN SLOWS DOWN BY ITSELF. THIS IS A NEW DOUBLE CLUTCH TRANSMISSION THAT DOES NOT WORK. HAD IT IN THE DEALER 3 TIMES. THEY PUT IN A NEW CLUTCH MOTOR AND IT WORKED WELL FOR 2 WEEKS. NOW IT IS BAD AGAIN ONE DAY SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET KILLED.

THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE REARVIEW MIRROR. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT FIND A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
THE FEW MONTHS OLD VEHICLE WOULD GET INTO A DEGRADED MODE AND SEVERELY HESITATE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THIS CREATED A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE I WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE IGNORED MANUAL SHIFTING AND STAYED IN DRIVE MODE EVEN WHEN THE SHIFTER WAS SET PHYSICALLY IN THE - AND + MANUAL MODE. DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS CAUSED THE ENGINE TO GROAN AND REV LOUDLY AS IT TRIED TO SHIFT INTO A GEAR. TURNING THE CAR OFF AND OPENING THE DOOR AND RESTARTING THE CAR SEEMED TO CORRECT THE ISSUES FOR A SHORT TIME. AFTER TWO WEEKS IN THE SHOP, IT WAS DETERMINED IT WAS A FAULTY CLUTCH ACCUATOR ASSEMBLY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT APPEARS TO BE HAPPENING TO MANY AS SEEN ON FORUMS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (LAFONTAINE HYUNDAI IN DEARBORN, MI) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000.
A/C DIGITAL DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS IS VERY DIM AND CANNOT BE ADJUSTED. IT IS SO DIM THAT I AM UNABLE TO READ THE DISPLAY DURING DAYTIME HOURS. THE INSTRUMENT DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS IS ADJUSTABLE. DEALER TOOK A NEW TUCSON OFF THE LOT AND. IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY ISSUED A CASE NUMBER 9227369. HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM HYUNDAI ABOUT THIS DESIGN PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM DID NOT FUNCTION AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSED TO CHIME WITH A WARNING INDICATOR STATING THAT THE SENSOR WAS OBSTRUCTED. AFTER MANUALLY BLOCKING THE SENSOR, IT DID NOT FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED DUE TO NO ERROR CODES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR I RENTED A HYUNDAI TUCSON FROM NATIONAL AT HOBBY AIRPORT IN HOUSTON, TX. IN A MANNER SIMILAR TO THE COMPLAINT I JUST FILED REGARDING AN EARLIER EXPERIENCE WITH A HYUNDAI SANTA FE SPORT (#10822299) THIS SUV ALSO EXHIBITED SIMILAR BEHAVIORS - A TENDENCY TO HESITATE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, ESPECIALLY (BUT BY NO MEANS EXCLUSIVELY) WHEN A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN WAS TO BE EXECUTED AT THE SAME TIME. SINCE THIS WAS MY SECOND EXPERIENCE WITH A RENTAL HYUNDAI SUV, I THOUGHT IT WISE TO ADVISE YOU OF THIS POSSIBLY ENDEMIC DEFECT IN THAT MAKER'S MODELS. THE PROBLEM WAS SO SEVERE THAT I HAD TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS PLENTY OF ROOM, TRAFFIC-WISE, TO ACCELERATE FROM ZERO WITHOUT POSSIBLY GETTING STRUCK. I AM NOW OUT OF THE MARKET FOR FUTURE HYUNDAI SUV RENTALS.
THIS VEHICLE HAS A DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR FROM A DEAD STOP, THE CAR HESITATES AND DOESN'T MOVE. WHEN MOVING FORWARD FROM A ROLLING START, THE CAR HESITATES THEN LURCHES FORWARD. SOMETIME, THE ENGINE SIMPLY REVS AND THE CAR DOESN'T MOVE AT ALL. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A TURN IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC AT AN INTERSECTION. THERE IS NO CERTAINTY THAT THE CAR WILL MOVE OR MAYBE THE CAR WILL LURCH FORWARD. THIS CONDITION HAS HAPPENED EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE.
LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR, WITH MAYBE 4000 MILES ON IT, AS I TRIED TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONE MORNING, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ENGINE WOULD REV AND THE RPMS WOULD CLIMB, IT WAS ONLY AFTER SEVERAL TIMES OF PUTTING THE CAR BACK IN PARK AND THEN REVERSE DID IT FINALLY ENGAGE. AFTER THAT, WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY AS IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, UPON ACCELERATION IT WOULD SEEM TO HESITATE THEN LURCH. THE NEXT TIME SUCH AN INCIDENT OCCURRED WAS A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER. I WAS STOPPED AT A SIGNAL AND WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED AND I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR DID NOT MOVE, AGAIN. IT TOOK SEVERAL TIMES OF PUTTING IT IN PARK AND BACK TO DRIVE BEFORE IT WOULD ENGAGE. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN. I FIND THIS DANGEROUS AND DOWNRIGHT SCARY. LUCKILY, NO ONE HAS REAR ENDED ME OR WORSE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS. THEY SAY THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG AND THAT NO TROUBLE CODES SHOW UP. I SEE THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FILED ON YOUR SIGHT ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM, SO SOMETHING IS WRONG, DANGEROUSLY SO! WOULD YOU PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS FOR US.
TRANSMISSION HAS A HARSH DELAYED SHIFT ON ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POSITION.
THIS VEHICLE SEEMS TO TAKE OFF IN THIRD GEAR, SHAKING EVERY TIME AND STALLING SOMETIME. IT HAS COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AT RED LIGHTS AND HAS STALLED PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE 4 UPDATES TRYING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE BUT IT STILL OCCURS. ALL MANAGEMENT OF THE DEALERSHIP HAVE DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE AND AGREE THAT THERE IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER PUT HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE GAS AS A DEMONSTRATION TO ME AND THE VEHICLE DIES OUT EVERY TIME. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE RECALL DUE OUT ON OCTOBER 28, 2016 WAS ALREADY DONE ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2016 AND DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE.
THE TUCSON LURCHES AND HESITATES WHEN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, DRIVING AT A REDUCED SPEED (I.E., IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS) OR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP (I.E., RED LIGHT TURNS GREEN). SEVERAL TIMES, I'VE BEEN STUCK IN AN INTERSECTION FOR 5 - 10 SECONDS TRYING TO GET MY CAR TO GO AND COMPLETE A LEFT HAND TURN. I'VE EXPERIENCED LURCHING DURING RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD DRIVING. I'LL BE GOING 25 MPH, AND COME TO A STOP SIGN. I STOP, AND WHEN I DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR DOES NOTHING. ABOUT 5 - 10 SECONDS LATER, IT WILL LURCH FORWARD. WHENEVER IT BEGINS ACCELERATING AFTER A HESITATION OR LURCH, THE RPMS SKYROCKET TO 5 - 6K. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR IN DESPERATION, OR I'M GRADUALLY DEPRESSING THE PEDAL. THE LURCHING IS SO BAD AND SO APPARENT THAT MY PASSENGERS COMPLAIN ABOUT IT. THEY THINK I'M DOING IT ON PURPOSE. I'VE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS BEHAVIOR TO HYUNDAI SINCE DAY ONE OF OWNING THE CAR. THEY'VE EVEN SENT ENGINEERS TO MONITOR THE ENGINE AND RIDE WITH ME WHILE I DRIVE IT. I KNOW 5 - 10 SECONDS DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A LONG TIME, BUT WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO TURN LEFT AND TRAFFIC IS APPROACHING FROM THE OTHER DIRECTION, IT'S A NIGHTMARE.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW DEC 28 AND DROVE IT HOME ON DEC 30, 2015. I DISCOVERED THAT IT DID NOT HAVE BLIND SPOT DETECTION, REAR CROSS-TRAFFIC ALERT OR LANE CHANGE ASSIST, ALL THREE TECHNOLOGIES WERE ADVERTISED AS STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THIS MODEL. IN ADDITION A CHEAPER MIRROR THAT DID NOT BELONG ON THIS MODEL WAS INSTALLED, IT HAD A SMALL CONVEX MIRROR AND WAS CALLED A BLIND SPOT MIRROR. THIS WAS A DELIBERATE DECEPTION INTENDED TO CONFUSE THE PURCHASER BECAUSE WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER THAT THE CAR DID NOT HAVE THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM, HE RESPONDED THAT IT DID HAVE BLIND SPOT TECHNOLOGY! THEN HE SAID THAT HYUNDAI DID NOT SHIP CARS WITH BLIND SPOT DETECTION TO PUERTO RICO, USA. NOT SHIP SAFETY TECHNOLOGY THAT I PAID FOR AND WAS ADVERTISED AS STANDARD EQUIPMENT?

THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT SHEPPARD HYUNDAI (2300 W 7TH AVE, EUGENE, OR 97402, (541) 343-8811) PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V628000 (POWER TRAIN, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,800.
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
I HAVE A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON LIMITED WHICH HAS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THE LACK OF ACCELERATION FROM STOP. WHEN TRYING TO MOVE ONTO A HIGHWAY/ROAD FROM A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS NOTHING HAPPENS THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT LURCHES AHEAD. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION. THEN WHEN YOU DO STEP ON THE GAS IT ALMOST QUITS THEN LURCHES. I'M TOLD ITS CAUSED BY THE MANUAL CELINOID WHICH CAUSES THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE. AT THE PRESENT TIME I'M NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND HAVE A LOANER. HYUNDAI HAS SENT ME PAPERWORK TO BUY BACK THE VEHICLE BUT THEN I HAVE NOTHING WITH WHICH TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE.
FOR "ALL" CARS, WHEN THE HEATER IS TURNED "ON", THE WHOLE CAR FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE WHERE YOU MUST EITHER PULL THE CAR AND STOP OR OPEN THE WINDOWS. THE SAME THING HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR DRIVES FROM ZERO TO 50 MPG, THE CAR ALSO GETS HEAVY FUMES. LASTLY, THE TACHOMETER WHEN STARTES DRIVING IN 1ST, 2ND & 3RD GEARS, THE "RPM" SHOW 5000 TO 6500 RPM B-4 GETS TO THE NEXT GEAR; THIS WAS ESPECIALLY FOR AUTOMATIC CARS!

BOTH SAY, "OPERATING AS DESIGNED". ONE SERVICE MANAGER EVEN SAID, "IT'S A POOR DESIGN". MY WIFE WILL NO LONGER DRIVE VEHICLE, AND I AM AFRAID TO MYSELF.
I HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY AND REAR SHOCK AT APPROXIMATELY UNDER 2000 MILES. IT HESITATES BADLY. IT DECELERATES AS I PRESS DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. IT HAD LOW COOLANT BEFORE A LONG TRIP SO I FILLED IT UP AS IT ADVISED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS HOT THE COOLANT WAS APPROXIMATELY 1/2 INCH TO 1 INCH BELOW THE MINIMUM FILL LINE. AFTER MY TRIP I TOOK IT TO THE CERTIFIED HYUNDAI DEALER SERVICE CENTER FOR TIRE ROTATION AND OIL CHANGE AND THEY ADVISED THE COOLANT WAS LOW AGAIN, BUT THAT THERE ARE NO LEAKS. I TOLD THEM I JUST FILLED IT UP AND SO THEY ARE CHECKING AGAIN FOR LEAKS. IT SLAMMED INTO GEAR AS I WAS GOING ON AN OFF RAMP FROM AN INTERSTATE. IT JERKED AND SHIMMIED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE WHEN I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT. IT IS BRAND NEW. IT SHOULD NOT BE HAVING SO MANY ISSUES AND NO ONE WILL HELP ME WITH IT I JUST KEEP HEARING "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, IT IS JUST THE WAY HYUNDAI DESIGNED THE VEHICLE." HYUNDAI NEEDS TO WORK ON THIS. THERE SHOULD BE MULTIPLE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. IT HAS A POPPING SOUND EVERY TIME I REACH 20 MPH AFTER TAKING IT OUT OF PARK. IT HAS A RATTLE IN THE FRAME/REAR PASSENGER DOOR AREA. NO PLACE CAN FIX THESE SOUNDS. I JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT ALL. IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A NIGHTMARE SINCE PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER 2015. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE MANAGER, WHO FAILED TO ASSIST. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V628000 (POWER TRAIN, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). I DID NOT HAVE THAT OPTION SO IT JUST STOPPED. THE DISPLAY READ I COULD CONTIUE AFTER 15 MINS I AM SCARED EVERY TIME I DRIVE THAT THESE ISSUES WILL CAUSE A WREAK. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN 3 TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY TELL ME THEY CAN NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND THERE ARE NO CODES AND SEND ME AWAY. OF COURSE THE DEALER CAN NOT DUPLICATE, SO THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG.. MANY TIMES I WAS ALMOST HIT WHEN TURNING DUE TO THE CAR NOT MOVING.. VERY DANGEROUS AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR DIE!!! WILL HYUNDAI DO SOMETHING THEN, BECAUSE ITS SEEMS THAT AFTER 167 COMPLAINTS THEY STILL DON'T CARE TO DO A THING ABOUT IT!! SHAME ON YOU! HESITATION FROM A DEAD STOP, ONCE AT A DEAD STOP AND YOU SLOWLY TAKE FOOT OFF BREAK THE RPM'S DROP AND THE CAR SHUTTERS AND FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO DIE! DEALER SAID ITS NORMAL FOR A DUAL CLUTCH BECAUSE ITS LIKE A MANUAL AND THAT I NEED TO DRIVE 2 FOOTED OR DEAL WITH IT. I ALSO HAD IT TO DEALER SAY PRIOR TO THIS TIME, IT'S BECAUSE THE DUAL TRANSMISSION IS STAYING IN SECOND GEAR AND THAT'S NORMAL AND THAT'S WHY IT FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO DIE. TRANSMISSION NEVER SHIFTS THE SAME.. WHEN IN ECO IT WORSE AND WHEN IN SPORT MODE IT VERY JERKY AND THE SHIFTING IS AWFUL AND NEVER SMOOTH. BOTTOM LINE IS THIS.. FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION HAS NO IDEA WHEN TO SHIFT AND OR HOW TO SHIFT. THE RPM'S GO UP BUT THE CAR DOESN'T SEEM TO PICK UP SPEED LIKE IT SHOULD AS FAR WHERE THE RPM'S ARE AT, ALWAYS REVS UP BEFORE IT WILL EVEN MORE. ALSO WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT TAKES A LOT TO KICK IT DOWN TO PICK UP SPEED WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE VIBRATION AT HIGHER SPEEDS IS HORRIBLE . HAD TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED 2 TIMES ALREADY AND IT TILL HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP DOESN'T SEEM TO FIND T TO BE THAT BIG OF A DEAL. HWY SPEEDS THE CABIN SOUND LIKE YOU HAVE ONE WINDOW OPEN AND YOU GET THAT SOUND OF BEING IN A TUNNEL. SINCE DAY 1 WHEN PUTTING CAR IN REVERSE AND THEN TO DRIVE, THERE IS A CLUNKING POPPING SOUND FROM THE BACK OF CAR AFTER IT HITS ABOUT 20 MPH. HAD THAT LOOKED AT 3 TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. IT IS MUCH LOUDER AND MORE OFTEN NOW WITH MORE MILES DEAL SAYS ALL MY PROBLEMS ARE NORMAL AND NOTHING THEY CAN DO BUT TO DEAL WITH IT. WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED!!!!! I HAVE A 2016 TUSCON TURBO LIMITED WHICH I PURCHASED IN AUGUST OF 2015. I HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES SINCE I OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE SUV DUAL TRANSMISSION DOES NOT GO IN GEAR WHEN YOU DO A ROLLING STOP (UNDER 4-0 MPR) OR FULL STOP. TWO THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU ACCELERATE, NOT PUMPING THE GAS PEDAL AS HYUNDAI STATES, EITHER THE SUV RPM SHOOT UP TO OVER 3K RPM'S AND IT DOES NOT GO INTO GEAR OR YOU HEAR A LOUD METAL GRINDING SOUND WHILE THE SUV COAST FORWARDS. SINCE THIS HAPPEN INTERMITTENTLY IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM. THIS HAPPEN IS A CITY ENVIRONMENT. I HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES SINCE I PURCHASED THE SUV IN AUGUST 2015. The driver and driver passenger doors get stuck and will not open after you lock them so I cleave to climb over the passenger to lock the door or I have to keep the windows down to be able to unlock and open the door the door latches are getting stuck I went to Hyundai in Little Rock the said I was covered under warranty and they never fixed it nor called me to tell me the part came in and it’s ready to be fixed this is a major safety hazard because I could be in a dark place or running from someone and can’t get inside the car or have access inside the driver side to do anything
