The car is dead if you do not drive it every 4 days. The battery and system have no power. It has happened multiple times over the past year. Have taken the car to Castle Hyundai of Downers Grove, IL. To date no resolution has been reached wh6 my car looses power. The dealer ran computer checks. Verified the battery had to be reset multiple times. Could not identify any issues with battery or hev system. Contacted Hyundai. Support stated their technical specialist conclusion waste make sure i drive the car for a half hour every other day. That was their "resolution". A car should be able to sit in a garage under normal temperatures for longer than 4 days without the battery system being dead for unknown reasons. The car is unreliable and does not meet safety standards as if they don't know why it's battery system is dead if it sits what to say it won't happen when I am driving down the highway.
The touchscreen is not reposnive to touch except in one tiny corner. We’re reported this at thw Hyundai dealership at least three times over the years- they said “they can’t see a problem”, which is odd because the screen literally does not respond to touch. When it’s hot, even with the AC on full blast, sometimes we will be driving and the touchscreen starts making beeps and starts going into the settings menu all on its own without being touched, and starts randomly changing settings. Or, we will connect a phone with google maps, and the screen will randomly change to something else or a different view. This is a dangerous distraction, and Hyundai has refused to acknowledge this problem. The screen is unusable, we are forced to use our phones to use navigation directions just to be safe in our own car. This has been an issue starting in 2023 and to this day has been persistent. We have done both hard and soft resets to ni avail. We have also reported, on going to the dealership, that the screen says to update- they have never provided any update or instructions on how to update, even though every time we go to the hyundai maintenance we are there for at least two hours or more.
Brake lights, hazard lights, and turn signals in the back of the car stopped working. Took vehicle into Glenbrook Hyundai dealer in Fort Wayne, Indiana and the dealer confirmed the problem is caused by the open safety recall. No remedy exists yet, so dealer charged me diagnostic fees for recall-related work.
The contact owned a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact's neighbor knocked on the contact's residential door and informed the contact that the contact's vehicle was on fire. The contact stated that when she went outside, the contact noticed that the entire front of the vehicle was on fire. The fire department was called, and the fire department extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was burned all the way to the rear seat of the vehicle. The fire burned another vehicle that was parked in the contractor's yard. In addition, the contact stated that the fire burned a good portion of the contact's residential yard. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was condemned a total loss by the insurance company. The fire inspector informed the contact that the fire started in the engine near the battery. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,500.
The horn stopped working. This is a huge safety concern. In a busy intersection unable to warn other drivers not paying attention to the road since horn does not work. This started few days prior with only high tone working, but not low tone (which is very hard to hear from other vehicles since not very loud), then after couple of days no horn at all. Looking online this seems to be a known issue with multiple hyundai cars (venue, tucson, santa fe, elantra etc) and some of them apparently had had to get their horns replaced multiple times since they keep being replaced with defective horn units, yet it is for some reason not a recall yet. Could you please investigate into this? I think there should be a recall for defective horn units. Huge safety concern, accidents could be prevented by fixing this
Both horns needed to be replaced three times due to both stopped working and I listed the dates below. First time replacement: 4-6-24, Second time replacement: 10-9-24, Third time replacement: 1-16-25. Now on 9-26-25 both horns stopped worknig again, I checked the horn fuse and that is good. I now need to call the dealer to have both horns replaced for the fourth time. I also contacted Hyundai's national customer service to log a complaint as well. To me this is a safty issue since the horn is used to possible prevent an accident. I check the horns when I drive the car since they go bad so often and I have under 28,000 miles on the vehicle.
While driving, I accelerated to merge onto the highway. The check engine light flashed a few times and the engine started wobbling like it was misfiring. I have also been having a parasitic drain on my auxiliary batter that makes the car not open to my key fob that I know works. The dealership told me it was bad fuel, but they “tested the fuel” with no diagnostic report/proof/records, saying that the fuel was bad and had a high concentration of 5% alcohol. They re-did the test and took pictures which shows the fuel is within tolerance but no diagnostic report and are refusing to complete a warranty checkup on my engine/electrical system. Also, the misfires with acceleration due to merging has happened 3 times. From the start back in July 2025 till now.
While driving on highway going 65 MPH my car 22 Hyundai Tucson SEL dashboard lights turned red and shut off on the highway with no warning, was not able to put in park for 10 minutes. My safety was put at risk, the vehicle stopped mid drive on the highway with other vehicles. Dealership has not fixed or looked at the issue.
While driving, without warning, all malfunction lights came on the dashboard and stayed on, including check engine light. The speedometer and rpm show as zero even though I’m moving. The power steering locks up. Scary as hell! This has happened 5+ separate times within the past 2 months. The first time I had it towed to the dealer and they said it was caused by a Karr alarm that was pre-installed by the dealer prior to my new purchase which I never authorized and was never activated. They said it was causing a short even though it happened 2+ years after purchase. It was removed by the dealer for free and the electrical issue happened again the next day while driving. It was towed to the dealer again and after a week the car was returned to me with no diagnosis as they were unable to replicate. It happened 2-3 more times and I got it towed to the dealer for a third time as I don’t feel safe driving this car at all. I am scared the car will die while on the highway. Car still at dealer.
Safety issue having to replace multiple horns on the vehicle. Known issue from Hyundai America. Would like an investigation, maybe a recall.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? > While driving, the following systems fail and become inoperable sporadically: blind-spot safety system, tire pressure monitoring system, smart cruise control system, lane following assist system, speed limit warning system, shifter system malfunction, infotainment system, HVAC controls and turn signals. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? > I lose access to all safety systems and am unable to see anything on my dashboard while every single light flashes on the dash. Being unable to utilize my turn signals is dangerous because I must restart the vehicle for the issue to be resolved. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? > The problems were confirmed - but NOT reproduced by the Hyundai certified service center. They stated that they can see logs of the issues and were unable to diagnose the specific failures without the warning lights being actively present. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? > Yes. It was sold to me as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle directly from a Hyundai dealership. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? > The warnings and failures appeared at 64,752 miles, which is less than 5,000 miles after the warranty coverage ended. I purchased the vehicle with 64,300 miles. The issues began less than 500 miles after purchase.
Had the oil changed at the 36k mark. Since then some weird electrical issues are happening. Bluetooth nor android auto will play a song more than 2 minutes before starting again. The screen is harder to "touch" for anything. If I turn my blinker on or use any control on steering wheel as well as roll down the window, the electrical will "flash" and again song starts all over. My husband went out to garage last night and opened the garage door to go to his truck and did not have the key to my Tucson on him. He opened the garage door and the hatch to the Hyundai started opening as well. Taking into the dealer on Tuesday, they state no recalls on any electrical issues, though I see it throughout multiple platforms online.
The backup camera turns off without warning. Suv is low miles. Hyundai has a recall for this on other models. I'd like to see it extend over to the Tucson also.
Check engine light and error message popped up on screen "A possible condition with your Engine Control System has been detected. A full system check is recommended to be done when convenient. Please contact your local dealership to schedule an appointment." Roughly 46500 miles. Contacted BlueLink and they could not help because dealerships were already closed.
The Apple Car Play goes on and off at random. It works perfectly about 70% of the time, then will not work for no apparent reason. While trying to get it reconnected, the Seat Heater on the driver's side would come on. This has happened many times so I want to mention it in case it's connected. I don't think I've accidentally engaged it that many times. It poses a risk because it takes my attention away from driving and could cause me to run into the car in front of me. I'll be taking it to the dealership in 3 weeks. There were no warning lamps or messages.
I had my gps on and it completely stopped working sending me in circles and the voice directing completely stopped. Very dangerous it had me making U-turns at dangerous intersections. I stopped several times put address in again. This has happened several times and it is very dangerous. Also this address is a known gps address not some obscure destination ´ Next twice I have pushed the start button with my foot on the brake and the car would not start. Third try it started.
I was driving and came to a stop to make a right turn. I put on the turn signal and nothing happened. I drove to where I could pull over and I tried the flashers and they worked so I turned the car off. I then turn on the car and still no turn signals inside and outside. I drove to where I was going and we ate supper. When I came back about 1 1/2 hours, I turned on the car and tried the turn signals and there worked. It's been almost a week and it hasn't happened again.
I was coming back from the mall on the highway doing 50mph and my truck started losing power which it has done before but this time the emergency brake came on and my truck stopped in the middle of the highway on a Saturday. Thank God no one was following me close because that would have caused a bad accident. And also sometimes after I stop at a light or stop sign my brakes harden and I can’t press them down if that makes since and all my needles move back and fourth while the engine is making a noise but the car is still in drive but will not move. I have to hit the button to turn the car off and restart it and this has happened to me 3 times already. This is very frustrating and scary
Ignition coil failure while driving. Loss of power, jerking performance, almost to point of stalling. No check engine lights until failure. Confirmed with scanner what computer was registering. I’ve seen other posts online of this happening.
Turn signals are not working.
