NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2013 Hyundai Veloster. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V204000 (Electrical System, Engine). The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and had recall repair completed. The contact stated on 6/26/2022 while driving 60 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact continued driving to AutoZone and was informed that cylinder #4 had an unknown error code. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle to back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing all four fuel injectors replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,150.
Then wiring for the temperature control knob is faulty. When taken apart to see the problem it has very obviously melted from extreme overheating causing the plastic to deform and render the knob and a/c power button unusable. God only know what other electrical shorts and melted components are under the hood. They had a recall for other year models just not mine. Clearly it’s a universal issue and should be fixed accordingly.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle began to shake and vibrate. The contact pulled safely off of the highway and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that she noticed an unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact waited approximately 10 minutes and restarted the vehicle and experienced the shaking and vibration throughout the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had seized and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the engine failure to an open recall on her vehicle for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V204000 (Electrical System, Engine). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
I received a recall for an engine knock sensor. Took the car to the dealer only to be told if they do the knock sensor recall it will put the car in an unusable condition. The car has 158k miles and has check engine light on and the engine is knocking. After researching this model, I saw a lot of people with the same issue. The dealer said the motor has to be replaced! It is aparently a manufacturer defect. The car has been properly maintained and is now unusable. This is totally unacceptable. The manufacturer should be liable for selling a defective product. Engine will basically explode with fire a real possibility.
So the vehicle wants to hesitate and buck violently to the point of nearly stalling out while accelerating and prevents the car from being able to merge into highway traffic in a safe manner and the surrounding years make and model are all on a recall due to a E.C.U. required update for a necessary reflashing for the ability to be use the automobile in the way it's designer/designers can make make want h. The severity and frequency of the problems are embarrassing and frustrating to be scared of risking my life being injured in a stalled/stalling vehicle without a power supply to navigate
Engine was producing a ticking noise for about half a day before the check engine light came on. The check engine light was on for one day before I noticed the vehicle starting to stall out. The engine caught on fire after stalling out.
Unknown Premature engine failure on well maintained vehicle. Engine is known for failures but the particular model of vehicle is not under recall. Dealership wants an unreasonable amount to replace with used engine (13'000$ twice the value of the car in working order)
Steering wheel clunks while turning. Most likely the rubber steering wheel coupler. Found a bunch of other complaints for the same thing with this make and model.
Our car is 9 years old with only 50,636 miles. We are the second owner. The engine started making noise (no warning lights) so we took it to the dealer. They’ve diagnosed damage in cylinder 1 and need to replace the head gasket and cylinder head assembly valve spring seat. I’ve been told by the Hyundai mechanics that this issues sounds very much like the issue that resulted in the recall of 2013/2014 Hyundai Sonata and Santa Fe’s. The dealership submitted a warranty request on my behalf despite the fact that the car is beyond the years covered by the warranty. I was told by the dealership that Hyundai knows about this issue with other models not covered by the recall and commonly will replace the engine of other vehicles even despite they’re outside of warranty within reason. I was hopeful but my warranty request was denied. Now I’m looking at over $10,000 in repairs which makes my car close to a complete loss. A couple months prior to the issue we receive a Hyundai notification that was something like we need to install a sensor in the engine that will alert you at the earliest signs of engine trouble. I had just donated a kidney and not in any condition to take the car in for this so that has not been done but what it tells me is that Hyundai knew of issues enough to install a sensor to detect these types of issues early before major damage. Note this was not a recall.
My 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo steering recently developed a loose range with clunking at either end of the range. Appx mileage is 70K. Research indicates it could be caused by a rubber coupler in the steering column. Other Veloster owners stated online that this seems to be a common problem and should be investigated by NHTSA for a possible recall.
The Heater Fan switch is failing the same way Hyundai Technical Service Bulletin 10-01-070 describes the issue for 2014 and 2015 Hyundai Velosters but the TSB is not applicable to my 2013 Hyundai Veloster even though my Heater Fan Switch is exhibiting the same issues. The YouTube videos I have seen regarding this Heater Fan Switch failure show that the switch is melting down in the dashboard due to poor electrical contacts which could result in a fire in the dashboard.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that the highest dial setting of the A/C unit had failed to operate as needed. Upon repairing the dial setting on his own, the contact discovered that the dial had burned out. The contact stated that after the repair, the failure recurred nearly a week later. The contact discovered that the dial had burned out again. The dealer was notified of the failure, and the contact was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The contact stated that failure had caused the defrost system to function poorly, which reduced the road's visibility while driving. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.
Since I got the car in 2015 I have been taking it to the Hyundai dealership for all maintenance. I kept telling them that it feels like it’s driving hesitant or pushed to go. I took my car in for a routine oil change and my car came back not running. They said my car needed an update. They did so without my permission. Then was told I needed a new transmission. A month later I’m driving down the road my car was on but not driving like it would not go. I had to get it towed. They said it was the cat converter. Well the car was still was having the same issue after that was fixed. I was driving down I-4 to go to the dr and my car suddenly slowed down and would not go I couldn’t get over and was almost rear ended. I took it back to Hyundai. They said it was a knock sensor. Fixed it. Was coming from Orlando 24 hours later and the car slowed down on its own again with a big semi behind me and my daughter was in the car. Hyundai refuses to fix the engine that’s a GDI that is recalled in the turbo Veloster because mine is base model. I also have a 2015 Hyundai Elantra hatch back that shows the same signs as my Veloster they both have GDI engines. Please feel free to contact me at [XXX] or [XXX]. And this has been doing this since before my mileage was high and it was below 60,000. I do have copies of all maintenance that was done at the dealership. If you have and email I can forward all invoice. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
My engine have a detonation and melted a spark plug and lost compression in this cylinder, the car not run
Car started smoking on cabin while driving. Risk of hazard dueto bad A/C control switch. Wiring harness and plug melted too. Several Hyundai Veloster are suffering same issue. Started to think blower wiring is to small for load too. Pleaae see attached pictures. Time and miles provided is an approximate. Do not remember when exactly happened but was reported previously. In the pictures you are going to be able to see the faulty part P/N for your review.
Driving on the interstate back from work going 60+ mph. The Vehicle TURNS OFF AND I LOST POWER, my RPMS DROPPED TO 0 and it was no longer accelerating. It’s AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I had to cruise my way off to the side and get my car towed to a shop. THIS COULD HAVE KILLED ME
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. The contact stated that the spark plugs had melted and made a hole in the piston. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The contact had related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V204000 (Electrical System, Engine). The failure mileage was approximately 145,000. The VIN was not available.
Clockspring not working. Causing issues with electrical and airbag/ horn not working. Multiple complaints. Hatchback lift support not working and locking system not working.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V204000 (Electrical System, Engine) however, the dealer informed the contact that they would be able to facilitate the repair in 34 weeks. The contact stated that he contacted a second dealer; Hiley Hyundai of Fort Worth (9000 West Fwy, Fort Worth, TX 7610) and was informed that they could not complete the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
-Steering motor coupler -Interrupted my turning at highway speeds, posed danger against myself and every other driver on the road. -It has been confirmed as the problem, and is a well known problem in the Veloster community. A recall is needed to prevent car accidents. Please help us. -No, it was not inspected outside of repair. -No warning lights at all are triggered by this problem. Symptoms are steering wheel clunking, sticking, vibrating. As it gets worse, steering wheel can become stuck in place, making it very difficult to turn the wheel. https://youtu.be/-2ximJ3KM3Q Here is a link to someone opening up the motor to see the coupler torn to ribbons. It is the same piece as I replaced. The veloster forum has hundreds if not thousands of reports of this problem.
Veloster has three doors. At the same time, for no apparent reason, both passenger side doors failed to open from the outside. In researching this problem, I found many Hyundai's have door problems. It starts with not opening from outside, then will not open from inside or outside. The safety hazard is getting trapped in the car and not being able to open a door for escape or someone from outside trying to help and they cannot get the door open to help. The problem has been identified by an independent service center and there are many references to Hyundai door locking problems on the Internet. This has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives. No warnings, the doors just failed to open, 2 of my 3 doors failed. Fortunately, I had one door to use. If someone was in the small backseat it would be very difficult to crawl out to the front to exit.
I purchased this car in September 2020 from a dealership and had no knowledge that there was an open recall on the vehicle. My son was driving the car home from school when in what he describes as the car losing all power with a rumbling noise. Smoke began coming from under the hood. He immediately pulled over. He was at a red light and had reached about 35 mph when the engine failed. He immediately pulled over about 200 to 300 feet from where he was had accelerated from at the red light. The vehicle was towed to the Hyundai dealership. After inspection it was reported that the open recall campaign was addressed on the vehicle however the damage caused by the recall was not fixed by the dealership. The dealership gave a quote of $9100 to replace the engine which through a rod through the engine block, a new starter, a new intake manifold and a new turbo. The dealership advised that they would only address the computer software update to address the pre ignition issue that leads to engine failure or fire but would not fix the damage caused by the recall. This is very unfortunate that automakers can build cars that they issue recalls on and only be responsible for fixing the recall and not the damage caused due to the recall. I should have never been sold a car with an open recall that was not addressed before purchase. My sons life was put at risk as well as other motorist. He broke down on an extremely busy highway. Highway 501 in Conway South Carolina. The car began smoking and could have caught fire. I am floored that a country like ours does not place more accountability on automakers and dealerships.
Connecting rod failure. A test was ran on my car and this code came up even though my check engine light was off. There is a rattling when accelerating and a decrease in speed when accelerating. The rattling began a little less than a year ago so I took it to a shop but they said it couldn’t be fixed because the engine is enclosed. Basically to fix this issue I would need an entire new engine and it is already causing major issues on my vehicle. This is a safety issue because the engine could just fail.
The contact owns 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated while driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where they replaced the spark plugs; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they discovered that there was a leak in the turbocharger. The dealer acknowledge that the leak was a known issue with the model vehicle and informed him that they would submit a claim to the manufacturer to cover the cost of the repair. The contact was later informed that the manufacturer had denied the claim. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
Air condition control switch located in cabin below infotainment unit. The setting of 1-4, the one most used will stop working requiring use of another number. After removing the part (twice replaced by dealership previously) found the contact points of switch melted. The wiring harness plugged into control until also melting.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled due to the engine overheating. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer for an inspection and was informed that the vehicle had been making an abnormal sound and needed to be diagnosed. The contact declined. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19V204000 (Electrical System, Engine) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Steering column clicking because of worn steering wheel coupler. This could cause steering wheel to lock. Hyundai had agreed to cover the Elantra and sonata for up to 10 years but not other models. This is same problem for other models. They should fix as steering column could be harmed and accidents could occur.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that the clips that held the moon roof into place fractured and detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,588.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, he started to hear an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he continue to drive the vehicle. The contact stated a few days later, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he had to add oil every 2 days. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.
Ac control knob, electrical wiring started smoking and would have caught fire if i had not turned off ac the cat could have possibly caught fire, not yet it is scheduled to be inspected 06/19/2021, no warning signals were presented the ac would only blow on lower settings at the onset of thw problem. The problem first appeared on 6/16/2021.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated after getting an oil change, two days later the air bag warning light was illuminated on the control panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the air bag needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,698.
Replaced the manual climate control on my 2013 hyundai veloster. The connector to the unit is melted.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated while driving 15 mph, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact pulled over to inspect the vehicle and became aware that the intake manifold was fractured into two pieces. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,931.
The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 20-25 mph, he heard an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle started to shake with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated her husband was able to pull to the side of the road, where he noticed that smoke was coming from under the hood. Additionally, there was oil leaking from the engine. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that there was a large hole in the cylinder block. The fire was started due to a mixture of fuel and oil. The contact was informed by the mechanic that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 19V204000 (Electrical System, Engine) however, the recall repair was already completed on the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the failure was not related to the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that she was responsible for the cost of repair since the vehicle was out of warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 69,204.
WHILE DRIVING AT 65+ MPH ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, CAR SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER. I PULLED OVER AND ALL LIGHTS ON CLUSTER POPPED ON AT THE SAME TIME (CHECK ENGINE, LOW OIL, LOW TIRE PRESSURE, LOW BATTERY, ETC), AND THEN LIGHTS TURNED OFF. THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES WHEN READ WITH A OBD SCANNER. CAR STILL RAN, BUT WOULD NOT MOVE, ALL POWER WAS LOST. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAD CLOGGED, AND FOR SOME REASON DID NOT THROW AN ERROR CODE. THIS HAPPENED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH NO WARNING, AND COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF I HADN'T BEEN ABLE TO PULL OVER.
ENGINE KNOCKING . USING A LOT OF OIL BUT NOT LEAKING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI VELOSTER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V204000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE) PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LARRY H. MILLER HYUNDAI ALBUQUERQUE (9820 COORS BLVD NW, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87114) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE ENGINE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,379.
On five separate occasions the vehicle engine has shut off completely while driving in traffic. Fortunately my wife was able to coast to the side of the road, but in all instances a serious road hazard and danger to safety for both us as well as the public was created. We are now no longer driving the vehicle out of fear of our safety. We have contacted the Hyundai dealership where all the prior 4+ years of service has been done, as well as Hyundai USA. Both have said they will not investigate. After the first two occurrences, I was told the original engine needed to be replaced due to metal shavings in the internal components. This is the exact same reason for the recent global recall, however Hyundai said our model was not covered under the warranty even though it was the same issue. We had the Hyundai Dealership replace the engine and within one month it happened again. This time they said the catalytic converter/exhaust manifold had failed again (this was the third catalytic converter). Since then, the engine has shut off two more times while driving. A local certified mechanic has inspected it and said he has seen several similar problems with other Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai USA refuses to address the issue.
MY AIRBAG WARNS LIGHT CAME ON
THE ENGINE RODS ARE KNOCKING, EVEN THOUGH I'VE KEPT OIL IN THE CAR. AND HAD REGULAR OIL CHANGES. THE ENGINE OIL ALWAYS HAS TO BE FILLED AFTER A COUPLE WEEKS EVENTHOUGH THERE IS NO OIL LEAKS. NOW THE MOTOR HAS TO BE REPLACED. THERE ARE MULTIPLE RECALLS ON THE SAME THING FOR THIS CAR JUST NOT ON MINE SPECIFICALLY. NOTICED IT TODAY WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON AND HEARD THE KNOCKING NOISE. THIS CAR COMPANY HAS A HISTORY OF THIS SAME ISSUE ON MULTIPLE CARS
MY SECOND HVAC CONTROL UNIT HAS MELTED. THE PLUG IS BURNT. THUS IS A RIDICULOUSLY NORMAL ISSUE, YOU KNOW WHEN IT FAIL BECAUSE YOU SMELL THE BURNING PLASTIC BEFORE THE HEAT SHUTS OFF.
HET LEAKING OIL TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD , CAN CAUSE FIREEAD GASK
HELLO, I BELIEVE THERE IS AN UNDERLYING ISSUE WITH THE VELOSTER 2013 THAT HYUNDAI HAS NOT ADDRESSED PROPERLY WITH THEIR SERVICE CAMPAIGN. I HAD RECEIVED THE SERVICE AROUND 06/01/19 (I AM NOT SURE EXACTLY WHEN) AND A YEAR LATER HAVE HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS THIS SERVICE WAS SUPPOSED TO ADDRESS. I HAVE HAD ENGINE STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET NEAR USC ON A BUSY INTERSECTION AND HAD TO MOVE THE CAR BY FOOT IN FEAR OF GETTING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. I'VE ALSO HAD ENGINE POWER ISSUES THAT SEEM TO HAVE PERSISTED. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I TOOK IT INTO A MECHANIC TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE, THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS A BAD COIL PACK FOR WHICH THEY DID A TUNE UP (SPARK PLUGS, COIL PACKS, OIL FILTER). SHORTLY AFTER THE TUNE-UP I HAD PROBLEMS OF THE SAME MISFIRING ISSUE WHERE THERE WOULD BE NO POWER TO THE ENGINE AND A SLIGHT KNOCKING NOISE. I THEN TOOK MY CAR TO HUNDAI KEYES MISSION HILLS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM THIS TIME AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING, BAD COIL PACK. THERE HAVE BEEN KNOWN ENGINE FAILURES DUE TO THE ECU, AND HAVE READ MANY ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ECU. I ALSO BELIEVE THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER TO FAIL PREMATURELY AS THE MISFIRES WOULD SEND UNBURNED FUEL INTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I INITIALLY GOT IN CONTACT WITH A SERVICE MANAGER AT HYUNDAI CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON FEB 15TH AND HE HAS FINALLY CALLED ME TODAY 03/15/19 AFTER WEEKS OF TRYING TO GET UPDATES. THE SUPERVISOR HAS DEEMED THAT THIS WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT EVEN AFTER EXPRESSING MY CONCERNS THAT THERE MIGHT BE AN UNDERLYING ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED BY THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM FOR OTHER VELOSTER OWNERS. AND I FEAR THAT MY ENGINE WILL FAIL IN THE FUTURE. HERE IS THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN. REPORT RECEIPT DATE: MAR 14, 2019 NHTSA CAMPAIGN: 19V204000
IVE REPLACED THE ENGINE THREE TIME DUE TO FAILURE. THE FAILURE OF THE GDI MOTORS IS IMMINENT. ON A DIFFERENT NOTE, THE CLIMATE CONTROL KNOB HEATS UP AND BURNS OUT THE METAL STRIP BEHIND THE KNOB WHICH CAUSES THE KNOB TO EVENTUALLY BECOME USELESS.
I bought the 2013 Base Version Veloster w/ 80,000 miles on it back in 2021, beginning of January having no problems with the vehicle. Halfway through the month my Veloster started having on and off transmission problems, then at the end of the month, not even a month into owning the vehicle , my car won’t go into gear and my gear light is blinking on my dashboard. I do my research and see ALOT of Velosters have this problem, but don’t know the reason for it. So I proceed to take it to a trusted mechanic that does a diagnoses and determines I need a new TMC module, and also determined nothing else was wrong with the car. I had to wait 8 months to get the part from the Hyundai dealership and finally when they get it fixed, they tell me to take it to the Hyundai dealership to get it reprogram, because the car was put into limp mode after the new module was put in. After I picked up my vehicle, I took it to the dealership. I left them with all the information and insist that I only want to reprogram my TCM Module. They proceed to do a diagnosis on my car and call me the same day, saying They have a recall on the rode bearings and also that I need a new transmission, and will replace it for 7,100$. I was mortified. The vehicle is only 80,000, and I already have to replace the transmission after buying the vehicle, I feel scammed. If I see that thousands of people are having this same problem, I believe it needs to be address.
I have had to replace the turbo and radiator. I have replaced the coil packs and spark plugs 3 times since I received the car and now the transmission is acting up. I bought the car Dec 2020 and it has left me stranded on the side of the road 4 times already from the engine malfunctioning.
Hyundai denied my claim for reimbursement for an engine issue. They stated that the VIN is not included in the recall. However, my mechanic is the one who bought the issue to my attention. He believes this recall should also apply to this vehicle. He said he is willing to discuss the repair with any interested parties. My mechanic is Auto Accents located in Lakewood NJ. His name is Nick and he can be reached at 732-905-5088. I only ask that review the attached receipt, speak with my mechanic, and consider adding this VIN to the recall.
BRAKES LOSE OF BRAKE PRESSURE WHEN BUMPS ARE HIT. REAPPLY BRAKES TO REGAIN PRESSURE ENGINE BURNING OIL ISSUES AND OVERHEATING ISSUES. THIS HAS RESULTED IN MY 1.6 L HAVING ENGINE FAILURE AND IT IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST AS THE 2.0'S AND UP ARE. BEING THAT THEY ARE THE SAME MOTOR OTHER THAN THE SIZE OF PISTONS AND TURBO CONFUSES ME
VEHICLE HESITANT TO PUT POWER, STALLS, LOOSING POWER WHEN PRESING GAS AND CHECK ENGINE COMES ON, CODE FOR MISFIRE. CHANGED PLUGS AND COILS STILL DOES THE SAME ISSUE LIKE THE ONE FOR THE RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V204000 BUT MY VIN IS NOT UNDER THE LIST!
THE CLIMATE CONTROL SWITCH HAS BEEN REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MAIN HARNESS WHERE CLIPS IN IS BURNT AN IS MELTING MY SWITCH OUT AFTER BEING CHANGED AN USED FOR FEW HOURS IT THEN BURNS OUT. THE CAR SMELLS LIKE IT'S MELTING THREW THE VENT OF PLASTIC.
