THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE FAILED WHILE BEING DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THERE WAS OIL LEAKING FROM THE VALVE COVER ONTO THE ALTERNATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *JS

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V705000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL CEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILURE WAS DUE TO OIL LEAKING FROM THE VALVE COVER GASKET ONTO THE POWER STEERING BELT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS THE THIRD TIME THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED. THE FIRST TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED ANOTHER DEALER – POTAMKIN HYUNDAI, WHERE THE ALTERNATOR AND VALVE COVER GASKET WERE REPLACED. THE SECOND TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO Delray Acura AND BOTH VALVE COVER GASKETS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REMEDY MAY OR MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE BY JUNE, 2021. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,807. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. THE CONSUMER STATED MULTIPLE POWER FAILURES DUE TO INABILITY TO REMEDY THE SAME PROBLEM OUTLINED IN HYUNDAI'S RECALL.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MASSEY HYUNDAI (1706 MASSEY BLVD, HAGERSTOWN, MD 21740) WHERE THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR VALVE GASKETS WERE LEAKING. THEY ALSO CONFIRMED THAT THE ENGINE OIL LEAKED ONTO HER ALTERNATOR AND THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V415000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED THE FREE REPAIR UNDER THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 136,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact initially received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V415000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact called the dealer and was informed that the parts for the repair were not available. The contact then stated that an abnormal knocking noise started coming from the vehicle while driving. The dealer was called back and an appointment was made for the service. The day prior the appointment, while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to Bob Johnson Toyota (3399 W Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY 14623) where she was informed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
MY CAR ALTERNATOR SHORTED OUT WHILE I AM DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 95 RESULTING IN EXTREME POWER LOSS, VERY HARD STEERING, UNSAFE VEHICLE CONTROL WHICH FINALLY ENDED IN COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. CAR TOWED TO DEALER WHICH DIAGNOSED AN UNDETECTED OIL LEAK FROM THE VALVE COVER DRIPPED INTO ALTERNATOR CAUSING IT TO SHORT OUT. VALVE GASKET WAS CHANGED AND ALTERNATOR REPLACED. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR SOME OF 2011 HYUNDAI VERACRUZ CARS BUT NOT MINE BASED ON HYUNDAI COMPANY I CHECKED. MY CAR ISSUE IS THE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM AND MY CAR SHOULD BE IN THE RECALL LIST. THIS CANNOT BE DETECTED BY DEALER VISUAL INSPECTION PRIOR TO FAILURE. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. I HAVE ALL MAINTENANCE DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CAR AT ACCORDING TO THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE AND THE DEALER RECOMMENDATIONS. THIS SHOULD REQUIRE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURTS IN AN ACCIDENT.

THE CONTACT NOTICED OIL ALL OVER THE ALTERNATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HYUNDAI OF ORANGE PARK (7600 BLANDING BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244, (855) 778-2061) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS OIL ALL OVER THE ALTERNATOR AND THE GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE MATCHED AN UNKNOWN RECALL, WHICH WAS REPAIRED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER, AND PROMISED A CASE MANAGER WOULD CALL HIM BACK. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD JUST EXPIRED BY 400 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,030.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED TWICE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS STARTED TO DIM BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VALVE COVER GASKET HAD LEAKED AND ALLOWED OIL TO GET ONTO THE ALTERNATOR. THE VALVE COVER GASKET, ALTERNATOR, AND SERPENTINE BELT WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND BEGAN TO SHAKE BEFORE STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK THE SAME DEALER BUT NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,564. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
REOCCURING OF EXISTING FIXED RECALL FROM HYUNDAI REFERENCE NUMBER 121. THE EXACT ISSUE THAT HYUNDAI FIXED UNDER RECALL IS REOCCURRING IN REGARDS TO OIL LEAKING AND SEEPING FROM THE FRONT CYLINDER VALVE COVER/GASKET REGION CAUSING ALTERNATOR AND ELECTRICAL FAILURE. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT LOST ALL ELECTRICAL DUE TO THE FAILED ALTERNATOR.
NEITHER FRONT OR SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AT A 45 MPH FRONTAL AND SIDE COLLISION.
WE PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES OR MORE FOR THE REPAIR OF AN ENGINE OIL LEAK THAT SATURATES THE ALTERNATOR RESULTING IN ITS FAILURE. THEY HAVE RESEALED THE ENGINE OIL PAN THE FIRST TIME. SECOND, THIRD, FORTH, AND FIFTH TIME THEY REPLACED THE FRONT ENGINE VALVE COVER GASKET. THE LAST TIME THEY FOLLOWED THE RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE AS OUTLINED BY HYUNDAI THAT WAS MANDATED BY NTSB AS A RECALL. HOWEVER THE OIL LEAK STILL REMAINS. UPON OUR LAST VISIT IN NOVEMBER 2018 THE HYUNDAI SERVICE SHOP DETERMINED THAT THE OIL LEAK IS FROM THE FRONT ENGINE COVER (TIMING COVER). THEY SUBMITTED A REQUEST TO HYUNDAI CORPORATE TO MAKE THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. CORPORATE ADVISED THAT THE REPAIR SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE UNDER THE VEHICLES WARRANTY PERIOD. NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY THEY HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. PLUS BECAUSE IT IS NOT RELATED TO THE VALVE COVER AND THAT REPAIR HAS ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED, THEY HAVE MEAT THEIR OBLIGATIONS. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT PART OF THE MANDATED NTSB REPAIR DOES INVOLVE A PORTION OF THE ENGINE COVER, BUT APPARENTLY APPLYING A LAYER OF SEALANT ACROSS THE SEAM OF THE COVER DOES NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THEREFORE THIS IS STILL A SAFETY HAZARD AND WE ARE LOOKING AT REPLACING A 3RD ALTERNATOR.

THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V415000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), BUT THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE A NOTIFICATION. THE CONTACT NOTICED AN OIL LEAK UNDERNEATH THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE SEIZED AND THAT THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TEAM HYUNDAI (22514 THREE NOTCH RD, LEXINGTON PARK, MD 20653, 1-(301) 433-7574) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR THEM TO DETERMINE IF THE FAILURE COULD BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED PER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE FROM THE INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND QUICKLY I LOST POWER AND MY ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACE AND CAR WAS DRIVING FINE. 2 WEEKS LATER, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I INSPECTED THE ALTERNATOR AND COULD SEE OIL VISIBLE ON THE ALTERNATOR. I DID SOME QUICK RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A VALVE GASKET LEAK ONTO THE ALTERNATOR ON MY 2011 HYUNDAI VERACRUZ, THAT HAD BEEN FIXED IN 2014. NOW HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. HYUNDAI OF CHANTILLY, VA CONFIRMED, BUT WILL NOT COVER CHARGES TO REPAIR. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AS I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD TWINS WHEN THE CAR SHUT DOWN.
RECALL RELATING TO OIL LEAK FROM THE FRONT CYLINDER BANK VALVE COVER GASKET COMPLETED. REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED BY AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF HYUNDAI INCLUDING REPLACEMENT OF THE ALTERNATOR. FRONT CYLINDER STILL IS LEAKING AND NEW ALTERNATOR IS NOW CONTAMINATED. THE ALTERNATOR BEING CONTAMINATED WILL CAUSE THE SYSTEM TO BECOME INOPERATIVE AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. CLAIM PRESENTED TO HYUNDAI AND CAR DEALERSHIP TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND COMPLETE REPAIRS. CLAIM DENIED. DATE BELOW IS APPROXIMATE. FINAL DENIAL ISSUED TODAY 07/09/2018
NHTSA CAMPAIGN #14V415000 WAS ISSUES FOR RECALL OF FAULTY VALVE COVER GASKET THAT CAN LEAK AND SHORT OUT ALTERNATOR, CAUSING LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. OUR VERACRUZ HAS NOW HAD THIS VALVE COVER REPLACED THREE TIMES SINCE THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED, TWICE NOW IN THE LAST YEAR. THIS TIME, 4/2018, THE ALTERNATOR WAS SHORTED OUT AND CAUSED LOSS OF POWER WHILE VEHICLE WAS IS MOTION ON CITY STREET. HYUNDAI HAS REPAIRED FAULTY PARTS AGAIN, HOWEVER, THEY HAVE YET TO HAVE A VALID FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. THE REPAIRS HAVE ONLY BEEN A BANDAID, AS SAME PROBLEM KEEPS OCCURRING. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL RECALL ISSUED TILL HYUNDAI COMES UP WITH VALID FIX FOR THE DANGEROUS PROBLEM.
WANTED TO PURCHASE 2011 HYUNDAI VERACRUZ FROM BARNES CROSSING DEALERSHIP IN STARKVILLE/NEW ALBANY, MS. TOOK IT IN FOR CAR INSPECTION AS I SUSPECTED THIS VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON RECALL LIST FOR OIL LEAKING ONTO THE ALTERNATOR FROM GASKET, AS IN RECALL #121. INDEED, THAT PROBLEM WAS FOUND EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO RECALL AFFECTING ITS VIN. ANOTHER RECALL NEEDED FOR ALL HYUNDAI VERACRUZ VEHICLES!
TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, DASH WARNING LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING, ENGINE SHUTDOWN, COULD NOT PUT CAR IN PARK AND BATTERY DEAD. RECALL 121 COMPLETED ON 01/31/2015 AT 33,586 MILEAGE AND VALVE GASKET LEAKED OIL ON 10/29/2017 AT 42,775 MILEAGE RUINING ALTERNATOR. THIS IS LESS THAN 36 MONTHS AND ONLY 9,189 ON ORIGINAL RECALL 121 CAMPAIGN REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI VERACRUZ. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN WHEN THE DRIVER MADE A LEFT TURN. THE FAILURE ALMOST CAUSED THE CONTACT TO FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR WOULD NOT REMAIN CLOSED ON ITS OWN AND HE HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLETON'S WEST PALM BEACH HYUNDAI (2301 OKEECHOBEE BLVD, WEST PALM BEACH, FL 33409) AND THE DOOR WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES TO ALL THE DOORS EXCEPT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. *TT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI VERACRUZ. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF, RESTARTED THE ENGINE, AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE ELEVEN MONTHS AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,742.
WHILE DRIVING WITH HEADLIGHTS ON, WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL IS USED, THE HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF. THIS HAPPENED ONCE PRIOR TO THIS VEHICLE AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE SWITCH ASSEMBLY UNDER WARRANTY. IT IS NOW OCCURRING AGAIN; HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. MY RESEARCH FINDS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH SOME HYUNDAI MODELS AND HYUNDAI IS NOT OFFERING TO RESOLVE IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.
WHILE I STARTED TO CROSS A BUSY HWY MY VERACRUZ DID NOT RESPOND AND WOULD NOT GO FASTER THAN 20 MPH. ALL MY DASHBORD LIGHTS CAME ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES THEN THE CAR WOULD NOT GO MORE THAN 5 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WOULD NOT GO ON PARK EVEN AFTER TRYING THE OVERIDE SWITHCH. EVENTUALLY THE CAR STARTED SHAKING AND IT SHUT OFF. ONCE THEY WERE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AND A NEW BATTERY (BATTERY WAS A YEAR OLD BUT HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE ALTERNATOR MALFUCTION KILLED THE BATTERY). ALL THIS COST ABOUT600.00. THE MECHANIC SAID THE NOTICE ABOUT THE ALTERNATOR NOT WORKING CORRECTLY IS THE BATTERY LIGHT SHOULD'VE COME ON WICH THAT NEVER HAPPEND. THIS VEHICLE I PURCHASED IS HAVING A LEAK FROM THE GASKET ROCKER VALVE COVER AND IT HAS LEAKED INTO THE ALTERNATOR. I'M AFRAID MY VEHICLE WILL STOP RUNNING PUTTING MY FAMILY IN DANGER.
WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED THE BATTERY LIGHT GOING ON. I PARKED IT FOR THE NIGHT AND BEGAN TO DRIVE IT THE NEXT DAY. AFTER DRIVING FOR A FEW MINUTES, I NOTICED THE BATTERY LIGHT GOING ON AGAIN. THE RADIO BEGAN TO TURN OFF AND ON, AND MANY DIFFERENT LIGHTS ON THE DASH BEGAN TO FLASH. I DECIDED TO RETURN HOME TO PREVENT GETTING STRANDED. AS I TURNED AROUND, I NOTICED THAT I BEGAN TO LOSE POWER IN THE VEHICLE ALTHOUGH I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I MADE IT HOME AND PARKED THE CAR. I TRIED TO START IT LATER AND THE BATTERY WAS NOW DEAD EVEN THOUGHT THE BATTERY IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. I DECIDED TO DO SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND NOTICED OTHERS HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES IN REGARDS TO THIS AND HAVING AN OIL LEAK. THIS REMINDED ME THAT WHEN I HAD AN OIL CHANGE RECENTLY, I WAS TOLD OF AN OIL LEAK HITTING THE ALTERNATOR. I HAVE RESEARCHED MY VIN ONLY TO FIND NO RECALLS FOR IT ALTHOUGH I AM EXPERIENCING SIMILAR SYMPTOMS OF RECALL 121 FOR HYUNDAI. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE, BECAUSE I WAS LOSING POWER AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREETS TRYING TO GET HOME. SOME STREETS WERE SMALL RESIDENTIAL AND SOME WERE LARGER STREETS.

MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON THE HILL OF OUR DRIVEWAY WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON AS USUAL. THE GEAR SHIFT CLEARLY CAME OUT OF PARK AND INTO REVERSE DUE TO A MALFUNCTION BASED ON THE FOLLOWING EVENTS: WHILE GETTING OUT OF MY VEHICLE LIKE USUAL TO GET MY KIDS OUT AND IN THE HOUSE, MY TRUCK ROLLED BACK WHILE I HAD MY FOUR YEAR OLD IN MY HAND AND MY TWO YEAR OLD STILL IN HIS CAR SEAT. I WAS 26 WEEKS PREGNANT, AND MY SON AND I BOTH GOT HURT IN THE PROCESS. MY HUSBAND IS A MECHANIC AND HE THINKS THAT THE SHIFT LEVER MESH SHOULD BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND STICKY SUBSTANCES FROM BEVERAGES DUE TO ITS CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE VEHICLE CUP HOLDER. 'THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE SHIFTER MESH WHICH IS DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE OPERATION OF THE SHIFT LEVER FROM OBSTRUCTION BECAME BUNCHED UP AND IMPEDED THE OPERATION OF THE SHIFT LEVER. WHEN THE SHIFT LEVER MESH BECAME STICKY AND BEGAN TO BUNCH UP AND STICK TO ITSELF CAUSING THE SHIFT LEVER TO NOT FULLY ENGAGE INTO THE INTENDED GEAR. THEREFORE IF THE SHIFT LEVER WAS NOT FULLY ENGAGED THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT FULLY ENGAGED IN GEAR THUS CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD OF POTENTIAL ROLLBACK' [XXX], 2015. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK AT 55 MPH MY 2011 HYUNDAI VERACRUZ MADE A CLUNK SOUND FROM THE ENGINE AREA AND STARTING DROPPING SPEED TO AROUND 20MPH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS WELL. UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT FIRST DATE OF INCIDENCE, SO I PUT TODAYS DATE. SINCE PURCHASING MY 2011 VERACRUZ I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH THE TPMS LIGHT TURNING ON FREQUENTLY WHILE I AM DRIVING. ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND EACH TIME, THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. AS WAS REPORTED TO ME BY MY SERVICE ADVISOR, THERE IS A KNOWN DEFECT THAT THE TPMS LIGHT GOES ON WHEN SOMETHING IS BEING CHARGED. AS SILLY AS THIS SOUNDS, I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS PROBLEM, SO I ONLY CHARGE WHEN NECESSARY. HOWEVER, THE TPMS LIGHT CONTINUES TO GO ON, EVEN WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN THE CHARGER. WHEN THIS LIGHT TURNS ON, I IMMEDIATELY BECOME ANXIOUS AND CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS. ACCORDING TO THE DRIVERS MANUAL, I SHOULD BRING MY CAR TO SERVICE ASAP WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON. I AM CONSTANTLY ON EDGE, WAITING FOR THE TPMS LIGHT OR SOMETHING ELSE GOING WRONG. THIS IS VERY UPSETTING AS I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 1/2 YEARS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE.. THIS VEHICLE SUFFERS FROM DESIGN/MANUFACTURE DEFECT. THE VALVE COVER GASKET IS DEFECTIVE. IT LEAKS OIL WHICH FOULS THE ALTERNATOR RESULTING IN CATASTROPHIC LOSS OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS INCLUDING TRANSMISSION FUNCTION AND STEERING CONTROL. ALL THIS OCCURRED DURING ORDINARY DRIVING RESULTING IN NEAR COLLISION AND TOTAL LOSS OF POWER REQUIRING EMERGENCY TOWING SERVICES. MY SERVICE EMPLOYEE WAS WELL AWARE OF THIS MALFUNCTION PREVIOUSLY REPORTED BY OTHER OWNERS. HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AS SOON AS I DESCRIBED THESE EVENTS. I NOW HAVE FAR LESS CONFIDENCE IN THE RELIABILITY OF THIS VEHICLE! *TR
SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW , THE TPMS LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENDLY . TOOK THE CAR IN MULTIPLE TIMES AND HYUNDAI SAID THEY CANNOT FIX IT UNLESS THE LIGHT IS ON AT THE TO ME OF REPAIR , LOOKING AROUND THE WEB , JUST ABOUT ANYONE THAT OWNS THIS VEHICLE HAS THE SAME ISSUE , THIS IS A DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING AND IF MY WIFE IS DRIVING SHE FREAKS OUT , ONE DAY THE WILL BE A PROBLEM FOR REAL AND IT'S JUST A ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN AND I WILL HOLD HYUNDAI RESPONSIBLE , WHY WAIT FOR THAT , PLEASE LOOK AROUND THE WEB AND YOU WILL SEE THAT MOST VERACRUZ OWNERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND HYUNDAI IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR
NOTICED THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE NOT OPENING THE DOOR WITHOUT PULLING COMPLETELY OUT TO THE END OF IT'S TRAVEL. IT BROKE COMPLETELY AND HAVE TO LOWER THE WINDOW TO OPEN THE DOOR WITH OUTSIDE HANDLE. DEALER AGREED TO REPLACE HANDLE UNDER WARRANTY BUT HAD TO ORDER PARTS. EXITING THE CAR IN AN EMERGENCY COULD BE VERY DIFFICULT! *TR
WHEN OPENING THE DOOR, THE INTERIOR DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE WAS CATCHING ON THE DOOR PANEL. THIS WENT ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS UNTIL I PULLED THE MECHANISM TO OPEN THE DOOR AND THE HANDLE BROKE. THE PLASTIC PART PHYSICALLY BROKE. I NOW HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW ELECTRONICALLY AND OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. EXITING IN AN EMERGENCY WOULD BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. *TR
I PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE IN 2011, EVER SINCE THE FIRST MONTH OF OWNERSHIP THE TPMS LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY GOES ON AND OFF. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN TO THE HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER NUMEROUS TIMES, ROUGHLY ONCE A MONTH FOR OVER A YEAR, FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM. TODAY, 12/28/12, MY VEHICLE IS BACK IN THE SHOP. I WAS CALLED BY THE SERVICE MANAGER AND TOLD THAT THERE WAS A BULLETIN THEY RECEIVED REGARDING THIS LIGHT FROM HYUNDAI. THEY SAID THAT "ANY RADIO OR MAGNETIC WAVE INTERFERENCE" OR "OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES" CAN CAUSE THIS LIGHT TO COME ON. THAT THERE IS NO FIX AND I JUST NEED TO HAVE THE CAR CHECKED WHEN IT COMES ON TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NOTHING REALLY WRONG OR IGNORE THE LIGHT IF I FEEL EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT. I FIND THIS "FIX" VERY UNSATISFACTORY. I PUT MY CHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE ON A DAILY BASIS. IF I "IGNORE" THE LIGHT AS TOLD I AM POTENTIALLY PUTTING MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS, AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD AT RISK. IF SOMETHING WERE REALLY WRONG WITH MY TIRES I COULD HAVE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. ESPECIALLY SINCE THE LIGHT TENDS TO GO OFF WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE WHICH IS 75 MPH SPEEDS. IT IS NOT FEASIBLE TO EXPECT ME TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND HAVE IT CHECKED EVERYTIME THIS HAPPENS AS IT MOST DAYS HAPPENS EVERY DAY. THE ONLY OFFER FROM THE SUPERVISOR AT HYUNDAI WAS FOR HIM TO OFFER ME A FREE OIL CHANGE FOR MY TROUBLE. THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE THAT I DO NOT CONSIDER MILD ENOUGH TO IGNORE. I DO NOT LIKE PLACING MYSELF OR MY PASSENGERS AT RISK UNNECESSARILY. *TR
WHILE OPENING DRIVER'S INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE, HANDLE BROKE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE VEHICLE FROM THE INSIDE. THE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE BROKE 3 MONTHS AGO. THE VEHICLES INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES KEEP BREAKING WHICH MAKES AN EMERGENCY EXIT FROM THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. *TR
