MY CAR LEAKS FUEL UNDER REAR IF I AM FUELING. CAN ONLY ADD 2 TO 3 GALLONS OF FUEL OR FUEL WILL SPILL. ALSO HAVING THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR ISSUE. CAR WAS ON RECALL LIST FOR ALL 7 RECALLS AND VIN. CHECK SAYS ALL HAVE BEEN FIXED BY PREVIOUS OWNER. THE SAME PROBLEMS ARE HAPPENING AGAIN. YOU SHOULD DO ANOTHER RECALL

FIRST OFF I'M CONFUSED BY THE RECALL INFORMATION .I HATE HAVING TO GUESS BUT IT'S REALLY UNCLEAR IF THE REPORT MEANS THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS OR THAT THEY HAVE BEEN FIXED AALLREADY.I'M NOT ORIGINAL OWNER , I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND HAVE NOTICED TERRIBLE GASOLINE SMELL AND LEAKAGE..I LOOKED THIS UP AND IT APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A RECALL ABOUT..I DONT KNOW IF THIS HAS BEEN FIXED BUT I'VE NEVER HAD A CAR WITH THIS PROBLEM IN 30+ YEARS OF DRIVING ..AND IF IT HAS BEEN FIXED ITS OBVIOUSLY LEAKING AGAIN BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE IT ON GROUND AND SMELL IT DRIVING IT AND OR PARKED BADLY..SO WHAT DO I DO ...YOU CAN SMELL IT PARKED AND DRIVING ..IT DOES APPEAR TO BE LEAKING OUT PARKED THERE IS A MID SIZED PUDDLE UNDER CAR OVER NIGHT THE SIZE OF A SMALL TEA CUP SAUCER..YOU CAN SMELL THIS IN CABIN DRIVING ...THE RECALL SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IF IT HAS OR HAS NOT BEEN FIXED PREVIOUSLY ..AND IF IT HAS AND IT'S DOING IT AGAIN THEN CAN IT BE FIXED AGAIN..
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 INFINITI G35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING, FUEL STARTED TO SPEW OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER INFORMED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V555000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I OWN A 2003 INFINITI G35 COUPE WITH APPROXIMATELY 75,000 MILES ON IT. ON MARCH 3, 2010, I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT A RECALL OF NISSAN AND INFINITI (QX56) VEHICLES REGARDING FAULTY FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNITS LEADING TO AN IMPROPER FUEL LEVEL BEING DISPLAYED IN THE VEHICLE. MY G35 HAS EXHIBITED FLUCTUATIONS IN THE FUEL GAUGE SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2009. WHEN THE GAUGE GETS TO BELOW ONE-QUARTER OF A TANK OF GAS, THE NEEDLE SLOWLY BOTTOMS OUT BELOW THE EMPTY LINE, BUT I KNOW I HAVE PLENTIFUL FUEL IN THE TANK. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN I PUT ADDITIONAL GAS IN THE TANK, THE GAUGE IS SLOW TO MOVE ABOVE THE EMPTY LINE. I KNOW MY G35 IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, BUT I WAS WONDERING IF THIS VEHICLE COULD ALSO BE FITTED WITH FAULTY SENDING UNITS AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR A RECALL AS WELL. *TR
I WOULD LIKE TO GO ON RECORD AS REFERRING THE FOLLOWING TO NHTSA REGARDING A RECALL FOR MY INFINITI. I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL FROM INFINITI A RECALL REGARDING A FUEL FILLER HOSE CRACK. THE FUEL FILLER AND VAPOR HOSES ARE TO BE REPLACED AT THE DEALER. I LIVE WHERE THERE IS NO INFINITI DEALER BUT THERE IS A NISSAN DEALER. I CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND HAD THE PARTS AND CAN PERFORM THE NECESSARY REPAIRS, BUT CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT INFINITI APPROVAL AND AUTHORIZATION. I THEN CALLED INFINITI AND THEY SAY EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A POTENTIAL FIRE POSSIBILITY WITH MY CAR THEY WILL NOT AUTHORIZE A NISSAN DEALER TO DO THE REPAIRS. WE LIVE 200 MILES, 3 HOURS FROM THE NEAREST INFINITI DEALER AND WILL NOT MAKE THAT TRIP, FUEL AND OVERNIGHT EXPENSES (AS PER THEIR RECALL NOTICE THEY WILL REQUIRE THE CAR FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS) FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THESE REPAIRS. IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT NISSAN AMERICA WOULD PUT A CUSTOMER OF THEIRS LIFE AT RISK FOR THE COST OF THESE REPAIRS. AS YOU KNOW, THERE'S NO INFINITI LISTED IN THE VEHICLE LISTS ON YOUR SITE, THEY'RE LISTED AS NISSAN AMERICA, YET THEY WON'T LET THEIR OWN NISSAN DEALERSHIP PERFORM SAFETY REPAIRS ON THEIR OWN INFINITI AUTOMOBILES. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED A RECALL LETTER # O2V245000 WAS RECEIVED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO PERFORM THE REQUIRED REPAIRS FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM, THE MANAGEMENT REFUSED TO ACCEPTED THE VEHICLE BECAUSE INFINITY WOULD NOT ALLOW THEM TO PERFORM ANY RECALL REMEDY REPAIRS ON INFINITY VEHICLES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO REAFFIRMED THE INFINITY RECALLS HAD TO BE PERFORMED BY THE INFINITY DEALERSHIPS ONLY. THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP FROM THE CONTACTS LOCALITY WAS SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS AWAY. THE CONTACT WOULD NOT ACCEPT SUCH A CRITERIA BECAUSE INFINITY WAS MANUFACTURED BY NISSAN.
NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE WHEN AIR-CONDITIONING IS ON. SEEMED TO GET LOUDER. TOOK INTO DEALER, ASSUMED IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. HAD 60,000 WARRANTY WAS AT 54,000. ALSO GAS TANK NOT SHOWING FULL WHEN FILLING UP. BOTH REPAIRS TOTALED 1100.00 APROXIMATELY FELT AT 54,000 MILES THESE SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND WAS TOLD I HAD THE REMAINDER OF FACTORY WARRANTY WHICH WAS 4 YEARS/60,000. I WAS NOT AWARE THE FIRST SALE DATE WAS LATE 2002 APPARENTLY. *JB

I AM A MASTER MECHANIC AND HAVE WORKED IN THE INDUSTRY SINCE 1969. I ALSO PERFORMED ACIDENT INVESTIGATIONS FOR MERCED BENZ NORTH AMERICA. I NOW OWN A SMALL REPAIR FACILITY IN CA. AND IN THE CORSE OF MAKEING REPAIRS TO THREE G35 INFINITIS (YEARS 2003 AND 2004) I HAVE FOUND THE FUEL FILLER HOSE CRACKED AND BRITTLE. I HAVE A G35 LNFINITY MYSELF AND HAVE BEEN KEEPING TRACK OF THE PROBLEM. MY CAR NOW HAS ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON IT AND THE FUEL HOSE IS CRACKING. I HAVE COMPLAINED OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE DEALER AND HAVE REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO INFINITY CONSUMER COMPLAINT LINE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGE THAT MY G35 HAS NO PROBLEM AND HE'S ONLY SEEN THE PROBLEM ON THE FX. I PERSONLY REINSPECTED THE HOSE AND FOUND A CRACK, ONE WHICH ALSO CAN BE FELT , IS ABOUT 1/4" LONG AND HALF WAY THROUGHT THE HOSE. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS AND EXPLAINED THAT IN THE CASE OF A REAR END ACCIDENT THE HOSE COULD REPTURE, SPILL FUEL AND CREAT A PINTO LIKE BOMB. I FEEL THAT THE DEALER IS PUTTING ME OFF, AND THAT NISSIAN IS TRYING TO SWEEP THE PROBLEM UNDER THE RUG AND IS GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND . I WANT YOUR AGENICY TO BE AWARE OF THE NEED FOR A SAFETY HAZZARD.THE FUEL HOSE IS NOT READLY SEEN AND I NOTICED THE PROBLEM ONLY AFTER HAVEING REMOVED THE REAR AXLE SUBFRAME FOR REPLACEMENT OF A FUEL TANK. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT GOING TO SHOW UNTILL THE IS A HIGH RATE OF FAILER, OR WORST, UNTILL PEOPLE START GETTING INJURED OR KILLED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING FUEL LINE DISCONNECTED FROM THE FUEL TANK . THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER, AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
MY INFINITI HAD COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT ONLY 1,800 MILES. INFINITI IS IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AND I HAVE HAD THE CAR ONLY 2 MONTHS. AFTER JUST ONE WEEK, THE CAR HAD PROBLEMS STARTING, SO THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. *AK
