Dashboard is melting/cracking causing a glare creating a visibility issue. Definitely a safety issue.
The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. The contact stated there was a blinking alert for passenger air bag on the instrument panel and the centerpiece console. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and it was confirmed the air bag sensor failed. The vehicle was not repaired due to cost and the VIN was not associated with the initial 2008 Infiniti recall. The contact stated the vehicle was purchased 1-2 weeks before the recall notice was issued. The contact referenced Infiniti TSB ITB08-045A as a possible solution however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure milage was unknown.
Las Vegas
Runaway acceleration. Three times now in the last two weeks the RPMs went to maximum redline without my foot on the accelerator pedal. Fortunately all occurred when I was at very slow speed and either in a driveway or a parking lot. Each time I immediately put the transmission to neutral and shut off the engine. For the first occurrence, Restarting the engine all went back to normal. But for the second instance, two weeks later on restart the engine again instantly went to maximum RPM (deep redline). On a second restart, with additional delay before attempting a restart, the problem cleared. I took the car to a mechanic and they said no error diagnostics were recorded. On test drive he said he noticed some brief unexpected surges. He said for liability reasons no way he would work on the car. No warnings, no instrument indications, car does not seem to "know" throttle is at max redline.
The Suspension Subframe Crossmember (Front) Part Number: 544B2-EG300 Supersession(s): 544B2EG300 Fits Infiniti G35’s (2007-2009) Have issues where it starts to rust on all areas of it . This includes the joints of the cross member and support areas. The rusting that occurs definitely impacts the structural integrity of the part and it can very well be a safety issue and a fatality waiting to occur . The cost of replacing this part may vary , as prices range from $473.00 +tax to $937.00 + tax not including labor cost that associates with the getting this unit replaced .
The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that the air bag warning light intermittently illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for routine maintenance; however, the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the passenger’s side air bag sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced the NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V521000 (Air Bags, Electrical System). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall and the contact was provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
Temperature gauge shows car as running hot even after having thermostat replaced. Car continuously runs hot with no resolution from Infiniti mechanics.
Brought car in for any state inspection and found the front suspension crossmember to 100% rusted thru. Car failed inspection. Found out that this is a common failure on this model of infiniti. In addition replacement part is on national back order. So on top of a poorly designed part they are unable to keep them in stock.
Water driving off of the roof of the car got plugged. Also, water running into the engine has caused rust holes. Water has gotten into the car through the sunroof. LOTS of complaints regarding this issue. Needs recalled.
The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, there was an abnormal popping sound as the rear-end of the vehicle lowered to the pavement upon depression of the accelerator pedal. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the contact discovered that the rear subframe was detached from the vehicle. The contact initially towed the vehicle home and then to an independent mechanic. The mechanic discovered that the rubber bushings that held the subframe was not a strong reinforcement to hold the subframe in place. The contact notified several dealers about the failure and each informed him that they were unaware of such a failure. The dealers informed him that he had to purchase an entire new subframe which could contain the same defective rubber bushings. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 130,000.
MY CAR HAS BEEN STALLING WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED. SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS COME UP (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SLIP LIGHT, BATTERY LIGHT) AND THEN THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY. UPON PLACING THE CAR IN PARK, I AM ABLE TO RE-START IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I BELIEVE MY CAR IS PART OF RECALL NUMBER 03V455000 - ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. HOWEVER, MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, BUT I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RECALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE RE-ADDRESSED. I HAVE CHILDREN, AND I AM WORRIED THAT THIS ISSUE CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, ESPECIALLY WHILE I AM DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE SEEN VARIOUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS RELATED TO THIS ISSUE WITH INFINITI.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI G35. WHENEVER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR DISPLAYED THAT IT WAS OFF. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR STARTED TO FLASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE SENSOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THE CAR IDLES WHEN TAKING OFF EVEN AFTER WARMING IT UP... WHILE CARS ARE PASSING ME BY. IT ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO CUT OFF WHILE IN TRAFFIC. IT WAS RAINING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I CAN'T EVEN FILLED THE CAR UP WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS. ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 3 WEEKS AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COME ON. TOOK IT BACK MULTIPLE TIMES AND STILL NOT FIXED
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND THE VEHICLE STARTED CATCHING ON FIRE. HAD TO PULL OVER TO GET OUT AND WAIT FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO PUT IT OUT.
IN MY CAR, MY RADIATOR FAILED. THAT THEN MADE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THE COOLANT MIX. MY FLUID IN MY RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION ARE LIKE SLIME IN THERE. MY CAR DOESN'T FUNCTION LIKE IT SHOULD.
IN JULY 2019 THE RIGHT SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHILE THE CAR WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE CAR WAS OFF AND NOT OCCUPIED.
WHEN PASSENGER SITS IN FRONT SEAT, AIRBAG DEACTIVATES. INFINITI DIAGNOSED CODE AS B1018 AND WANTS $7K TO REPLACE SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY. INFINITI REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE SAFETY DEFECT AS PART OF THEIR RECALL PROGRAM BY SAYING MY VIN IS NOT AFFECTED. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEACTIVATES AFTER SITTING IN FRONT SEAT FOR ABOUT A MINUTE.
PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANCY SENSOR FAILURE. THIS DISABLES THE AIRBAGS FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER. COST TO REPAIR APPROACHES THE VALUE OF THE CAR ($6K-7K). SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.
I WAS TRAVELING AT AROUND 25MPH ON BROADWAY STREET IN SAN FRANCISCO WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I FELT MY CAR START TO SWERVE ON IT'S OWN. I STEERED TO CORRECT IT BUT MY STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED IT FELT LIKE. ALL I COULD DO WAS HIT MY BRAKES AS QUICKLY AS I COULD BUT I ENDED UP CRASHING INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. MY STEERING WHEEL HAD NO WEIGHT AND TURNED FREELY WHILE THE FRONT WHEELS HAD NO MOVEMENT WHATSOEVER. I COULDN'T EVEN REVERSE SO HAD TO WAIT FOR THE TOW TRUCK TO COME AND PULL ME AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE I COLLIDED WITH. I CALLED INFINITI AND THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT INVESTIGATE THIS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR USED, THE MILEAGE AND IT WAS PREVIOUSLY IN A FRONT END COLLISION IN 2013. HOWEVER, THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AS THERE IS NO REQUIRED OR RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE FOR STEERING. I WAS LUCKY THAT THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY OR THE CAR DIDN'T SWERVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND I BELIEVE INFINITI/ NISSAN SHOULD FURTHER INVESTIGATE THIS BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI G35. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND FLASHED OFF AND ON. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE REGARDLESS IF THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ORLANDO INFINITI (4237 MILLENIA BLVD, ORLANDO, FL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,100.
MY CAR HAS STARTED STALLING WHILE DRIVING, WHILE DRIVING! I HAVE GONE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE ISSUE FIXED, ONCE I GET IT FIXED IT HAPPENS AGAIN, AND THEN THE DEALER SAYS IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING ELSE. I HAVE A SMALL CHILD AND ITS TERRIFYING KNOWING THAT IF I'M ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR WILL STALL OR ANYWHERE FOR THAT MATTER. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR WEEKS, STARTED AT VERY LOW SPEEDS AND AS OF YESTERDAY THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, NO STEERING WHILE GOING AT A HIGHER SPEED, I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN IN A WRECK, OR EVEN KILLED SOMEONE WALKING. IT'S UNSAFE! THERE ARE MANY FORUMS ONLINE REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH INFINITI VEHICLES AND THEY DON'T CARE. LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN.
ALMOST DAILY STALLING AT LOW SPEEDS. WHEN COMING TO A SLOWDOWN, THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WITH NO ERROR CODES OR LIGHTS GIVEN EXCEPT FOR POWER COMPLETELY TURNING OFF. THIS HAS RESULTED IN NUMEROUS NEAR MISSES SINCE STEERING IS THEN NOT POWERED AND AT TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. RESTART IS POSSIBLE BY PUTTING THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTING. I WORRY THAT THIS CAN CAUSE A WRECK WHEN STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WITH TRAFFIC COMING. AT TIMES, WHEN COMING TO A SLOWDOWN, THE CAR WILL STUTTER AS IF RPMS DROP VERY LOW BUT DOES NOT STALL. THE STALL AND NEAR STALL HAPPENS FREQUENTLY.
INFINITY HAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL, NSTSA #08V-521 FOR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OCCUPANT SENSOR (OCS) ON 2008 INFINITY G35 WITH ERROR CODE B1022. MY CAR HAS ERROR CODE B1018 WITH IS THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE SENSOR. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $7000 TO REPLACE THE SEAT BOTTOM. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL.

DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO INFINITI OF MASSAPEQUA (4450 SUNRISE HWY, MASSAPEQUA, NY 11758), BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING OR SIGNS OF GOING OUT. IT WENT OUT WHILE TRYING TO TURN LEFT ON A LARGE INTERSECTION. WAS ALMOST HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. OIL CHANGE WAS DONE AT FIRESTONE A DAY PRIOR TO INCIDENT AND STEERING FLUID LEVELS WERE GOOD.
THE DASH BOARD IS VERY SOFT AND STICKY
AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASHBOARD KEEPS FLASHING AND PASSENGER OCCUPANT LIGHT IS ON EVEN WHEN A PASSENGER IS ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY REPORTED THAT THEY ARE RECEIVING CODE 'B1018 - OCS SENSOR MAT MALFUNCTIONING.' I KNOW THAT THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR THIS (NHTSA #08-521) BUT THE DEALER STATES THAT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, HOWEVER, MY CAR IS HAS THE EXACT SYMPTOMS AND CODES FOR THAT RECALL. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL NOTICE.
DASHBOARD MELTED CREATING A STICKY, SHINY LAYER ON THE DASH. THIS CAUSES GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD CREATING A VISIBILITY HAZARD.
AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR SIX MONTHS; LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID IT WOULD COST BETWEEN $5,000 BS $6,000 TO FIX PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG INFLATOR -- BECAUSE IT REQUIRED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE SEAT "FRAME." CAR HAS 21,000 MILES ON IT. I BOUGHT IT NEW. NO ACCIDENT; I FIND NO RECORD OF A RECALL.

THE VEHICLE DROVE AWAY FROM THE SCENE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS NO LONGER RETRACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
DUE TO STICKY AND MELTING OF DASH IN MY 2008 G35S INFINITY TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT THE FACTORY DEFECT ON THIS VEHICLE. PLEASE LOOK INTO RECALLING OF THIS DEFECT
I HAVE A 2008 INFINITI G35 VEHICLE. I RECENTLY DISCOVERED A RUST HOLE IN THE LOWER RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR FRAME. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO INFINITI OF SCOTTSDALE WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR TO HAVE THEM INSPECT AND EXPLAIN HOW THIS RUST HOLE HAPPENED. I'VE TAKEN GREAT CARE OF THIS CAR AND HAVE IT ROUTINELY SERVICED AND WASHED AND PARKED IN THE GARAGE. THE INFINITI DEALER SUGGESTED I REPORT THE RUST HOLE TO INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS - WHICH I'VE DONE. INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS THEN SENT ME BACK TO INFINITI OF SCOTTSDALE TO HAVE REPAIRS MADE ON THE CAR. UNFORTUNATELY, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE RUST HOLE IN THE DOOR WAS JUST THE "TIP OF THE ICEBERG" IN TERMS OF RUST DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. THE DEALER BODY SHOP FOUND THAT THE RAINWATER DRAIN LINES FOR THE VEHICLE WERE IMPROPERLY ROUTED BY THE MANUFACTURER AND WATER HAS BEEN DRAINING DIRECTLY INTO THE FRAME RESULTING IN NEARLY HALF OF THE VEHICLE BEING RUSTED OUT. THE COST TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE NOW VASTLY EXCEEDS THE LIMITED FUNDS APPROVED BY INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS. I'M TOLD THAT BECAUSE MY WARRANTY ON THE CAR JUST EXPIRED THIS LAST NOVEMBER, THERE IS NOTHING THAT INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS CAN DO TO FURTHER HELP. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 63,000 MILES ON IT AND I'M STILL FINANCING IT AND YET IT NOW IS HALF-RUSTED DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES OUTSIDE OF MY CONTROL. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE OPERATIONAL SAFETY OF DRIVING A CAR WITH THIS MUCH RUST. I USE MY VEHICLE TO ROUTINELY TRANSPORT MY YOUNG CHILDREN TO AND FROM SCHOOL AND TO THEIR SPORTS ACTIVITIES. I'M ALSO CONCERNED THAT EVEN IF REPAIRS COULD BE MADE, THIS DAMAGE SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTS THE POTENTIAL RESALE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. I WOULD HOPE THAT A DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURING EVENT WOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED AND THAT MY CAR WOULD EITHER BE FIXED OR REPLACED IN ORDER TO NOT COMPROMISE MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY.

I AM THE OWNER OF A 2008 INFINITI G35 SEDAN. IT HAS LOW MILES (82,000) FOR THE YEAR AND HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED AT THE DEALERSHIP THROUGHOUT ITS LIFETIME. RECENTLY WE HAD AN ISSUE WITH AN AIRBAG SENSOR FAILING RESULTING IN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG REMAINING OFF. IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION THE AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY AND THIS COULD RESULT IN VERY SERIOUS BODILY INJURY. A QUICK SEARCH ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE SHOWS THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS VERY ISSUE FOR MY MODEL YEAR, HOWEVER MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED ON THIS RECALL. THIS IS A VERY UNIQUE FAILURE AND HAS HAPPENED TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE AS EVIDENCED ON THE COMPLAINTS SECTION OF THE NHTSA WEBSITE. THIS IS A SYSTEMATIC FAILURE IN MANUFACTURING THE VEHICLE AND IS PUTTING CUSTOMERS IN HARM'S WAY. I CONTACTED INFINITI TO DISCUSS REPAIRING THE FAILURE HOWEVER I WAS TOLD THAT INFINITI WOULD NOT HELP US IN ANY WAY. THE REPRESENTATIVE, STEVEN, I SPOKE WITH MADE THE DECISION TO PUT ME AND MY FAMILY AT RISK IN ORDER TO SAVE MONEY. HE STATED THAT HE 'CAREFULLY CONSIDERED' ALL THE FACTS OF MY CASE AND WOULD NOT STEP IN AND REPAIR THIS CRUCIAL SAFETY DEFECT. I MADE HIM AWARE THAT THIS FAILURE WAS UNIQUE AND SYSTEMATIC AND THAT IT FITS THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RECALL PLACED ON OTHER VEHICLES AND THAT IT POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. STEVEN REITERATED THAT INFINITI WOULD NOT HELP US REPAIR THIS ISSUE AND THAT MY CONCERNS WERE 'NOTED'. HE THEN TOLD ME THAT I COULD TAKE THIS CONCERN UP TO THE BBB OR NHSTA. IT IS APPARENT THAT INFINITI DOES NOT CARE WHAT SO EVER ABOUT ITS CUSTOMER'S SAFETY OR WELLBEING. INFINITI HAS CHOSEN TO PUT PEOPLE AT RISK OF SEVERE BODILY HARM IN ORDER TO SAVE A FEW DOLLARS. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING NEWS AND HAS SHAPED MY OPINION ABOUT THE COMPANY. I WOULD URGE THE NHTSA TO LOOK INTO THIS BECAUSE IT IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT ACTIVATED AND WILL NOT GO OFF. I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED AS OCCUPANT SENSOR UNIT FAILED. I SAW A RECALL ON THE 2008 INFINITI G35 FOR THIS SAME ISSUE BUT MY VIN # IS NOT SHOWING ON THE RECALL. RECALL # 08V521000. MY CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW. NOT IN ANY ACCIDENTS AND ONLY HAS 53,858 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI G35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TURNING ON THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES HOWEVER, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE BRAKE PEDAL FELL TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A BUILDING AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE FRONT-END OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
TWO COMPLAINTS. 1. THE DASHBOARD IN MY 2008 G35 IS MELTING. IT HAS A TACKY FEEL AND IS EASILY DAMAGED WHEN TOUCHED. MANY CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD. AT TIMES THE SHINY APPEARANCE OF THE DASHBOARD REFLECTS LIGHT ON THE WINDSHIELD AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. 2. THE SUNROOF HAS DRAIN CHANNELS FOR DRAINING OFF WATER THAT ACCUMULATES AROUND THE SUNROOF. THE DRAIN CHANNELS ARE PLASTIC PIPES THAT RUN THROUGH THE A-PILLAR AND SPILL ONTO THE ROADWAY UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE DRAIN CHANNELS ARE BREAKING APART AT APPROXIMATELY DASHBOARD HEIGHT AND WATER IS INJECTED BEHIND THE DASHBOARD AND IS SHORTING OUT THE VEHICLE CONTROLLERS. WHILE DRIVING IN A STORM ON A CITY STREET MY INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL STARTING BLINKING AND EVENTUALLY FAILED (E.G. MY WHOLE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT BLANK). WATER DESTROYED MY BCU AND THE CAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME. REPLACED THE BCU AND DRAIN CHANNELS. HOWEVER, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME. STILL LOSE CERTAIN INSTRUMENTS, E.G. WATER TEMPERATURE GAUGE, AND INTERMITTENT SOUNDS OF RELAYS TRYING TO RECOVER LOST SYSTEMS. CONSTANTLY GETTING FALSE INDICATORS OF FAILURES ON THE DASH. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FRIGHTENING TO HAVE LOST MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT.
WE ARE HAVING A REOCCURRING PROBLEM OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR NOT WORKING. THE VEHICLE HAS A LIGHT WHICH ILLUMINATES WHEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT "ARMED" FOR DEPLOYMENT. THE FIRST TIME WE TOOK IT TO THE INFINITI DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT CONTINUED TO BE A PROBLEM FOR US INTERMITTENTLY FOR OVER A YEAR. MY MAIN CONCERN WAS ALWAYS THAT IF WE (MY WIFE AND I) WERE INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION THAT THE AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY AND SHE COULD BE INJURED AS A RESULT. FINALLY, A COUPLE WEEKS AGO, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. WE HAPPENED TO BE CLOSE TO THE DEALERSHIP SO WE TOOK IT RIGHT OVER. MY WIFE EVEN RECORDED A VIDEO OF THE LIGHT BEING ON WHILE SHE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE DEALERSHIP TRIED REPLACING THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT. IT IS BASICALLY THE "BRAINS" OF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. A FEW DAYS LATER WE PICKED THE CAR UP, STARTED DRIVING HOME, AND THE "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT CAME BACK ON. WE IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY FURTHER EXPLORED THE PROBLEM AND TOLD US THAT WE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE BOTTOM PART OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE SEAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY SO IT WOULD COST US OVER $5900 (YES, THAT'S RIGHT...ALMOST SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS!) TO REPLACE THE SEAT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS PROBLEM. INFINITI RECALLED OTHER G35S FOR THE SAME PROBLEM! OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT PRODUCED DURING THE PERIOD THAT THE RECALLED VEHICLES WERE; SAME MODEL YEAR, JUST DIFFERENT MANUFACTURING DATE. IN ADDITION, AFTER LOOKING AT THE NHTSA WEBSITE I FOUND THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHOSE CARS WERE NOT PART OF THE RECALL ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SENSOR. I BELIEVE THE AIRBAG SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE ON MANY INFINITI VEHICLES. I JUST HOPE ANOTHER RECALL IS ISSUED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT DUE TO THE AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE AIR BAG AND THE OCCUPANCY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INDICATING THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.

IT INDICATED THAT IT WAS OFF WHEN A PASSENGER WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND ON WHEN THERE WAS NO PASSENGER. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI G35. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT BLINKED OFF AND ON, INDICATING A POSSIBLE FAILURE IN THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED AND THE SENSOR, SEAT CUSHION, AND AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V521000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). WHEN DRIVING SLOW, 5 TO 15 MPH MERGING ONTO BUSY INTERSTATE 84 HIGHWAY WITHOUT WARNING THE BATTERY LIGHT, AND BRAKE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND ENGINE SHUTS OFF. THE CAR LIGHTS, RADIO STILL WORK. PUT THE CAR IN PARK START THE ENGINE AND ITS STARTS UP AS NORMAL. THIS CAR HAS GONE TO THE DEALER, AND 2 OTHER SHOPS 800.00 LATER ITS STILL HAVING A STALLING ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. UPDATED 7/21/15*CN

MY 2008 INFINITI G35 AIRBAG AND PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. I RESET THE LIGHTS AND CHECKED THE WIRING UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT BUT THE LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY CAME UP WITH CODE B1018, OCCUPANT SENSOR (UNIT FAIL) PAST CODE. THEY RESET THE LIGHTS AND RECOMMEND CHANGING THE PASSENGER SEAT BOTTOM IF THE LIGHTS RETURNED. THE COST?....$6137 BUT THEY WILL GIVE ME A DISCOUNT, CHARGING ME $4176. THIS MODEL WAS RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT MY CAR...ACCORDING TO THE VIN. MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED SEP 2007, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES MANUFACTURED INTERVAL. I BELIEVE INFINITI SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ASSUME THE COST OF THIS EXPENSIVE REPAIR BY INCLUDING IT IN THE RECALL. *TR

SOMETHING IS DRAINING MY BATTERY. I HAVE PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY AND ALSO TESTED THE ALTERNATOR. IF MY CAR SITS FOR TWO DAYS I HAVE TO JUMP THE BATTERY TO START MY VEHICLE. I GOOGLE MY PROBLEM AND FOUND OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY IMPLY IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE BOSE RADIO. *TR
CAN NOT FILL GAS TANK UP TO LIMIT. STOPS AT 6 GALLONS. IF I TRY TO FORCE MORE THAN 6 GALLONS, GAS STARTS SPURTING OUT, SPILLING EVERYWHERE CAUSING A HAZARD. HAVE TO REFILL GAS TANK EVERYDAY. VERY ANNOYING TO HAVE TO STOP & GET GAS ON A DAILY BASIS. VERY INCONVENIENT. MY JOB ENTAILS DRIVING TO DIFFERENT CLIENTS ON A DAILY BASIS. DEPENDING ON HOW MANY CLIENTS I HAVE DAILY, I SOMETIMES HAVE TO STOP & FILL GAS TANK WITH ANOTHER 6 GALLONS BEFORE I MAKE IT TO MY CLIENT'S HOUSE. MY CLIENTS AREN'T TOO HAPPY WHEN I ARRIVE LATE.
