Good morning, I am writing to formally escalate a serious and unresolved safety concern involving my vehicle and to follow up on my existing case (Case #XXX). On April 22, 2026, while driving on the highway at approximately 55 mph, my vehicle suddenly performed a hard stop as if it detected an imminent collision. At the time, there were no visible obstructions or vehicles directly in front of me that would have warranted automatic emergency braking. This is a repeat issue. A nearly identical incident occurred on August 8, 2025, which was previously reported. Despite that report, the problem remains unresolved and continues to present a significant safety risk. These unexpected braking events create a hazardous driving condition with a clear risk of rear-end collision, particularly at highway speeds. Based on the pattern and circumstances, this strongly suggests a false activation of the automatic emergency braking system or a related safety system malfunction. Given the repeated nature of this issue and the potential safety implications, I am formally requesting: * Immediate escalation of this case to the appropriate engineering or safety review team * A full investigation as a potential safety defect * Identification of any related technical service bulletins, recalls, or known system issues * A clear plan and timeline for diagnosis and resolution at an authorized INFINITI dealership * Confirmation of whether reimbursement or other corrective action will be considered given the ongoing safety risk and repeated service attempts Please confirm receipt of this escalation in writing, along with next steps and assigned case handling details. I expect timely and serious attention to this matter given the safety risk involved. Sincerely, XXX XXX
On March 26, 2026 my 2019 Infiniti QX50 (VIN: [XXX] ) experienced complete loss of motive power while exiting the freeway. My blind mother and [XXX] autistic son were both passengers creating a serious safety emergency for two disabled individuals. On March 28, 2026 Les Schwab Tires (Store [XXX] ) professionally documented metal shavings in the oil pan on official invoice stating ‘SHAVING IN OIL PAN’ with my VIN recorded. I brought the vehicle to Infiniti Roseville [XXX] ). Their own official inspection report R/O 101930 dated March 28, 2026 confirms: ‘REMOVED OIL PAN AND INSPECTED FOR BEARING DEBRIS. FOUND SMALL AMOUNT OF METAL SILVER COLORED.’ The report also documents my reported intermittent power loss and references two photos of the debris taken during inspection. Despite finding documented metal debris consistent with recall R25B2 bearing failure, Infiniti Roseville is denying engine replacement claiming silver colored debris does not qualify. Nissan’s published recall criteria makes no such color distinction — it states metal debris qualifies for engine repair or replacement at no charge. Warning symptoms began December 5, 2025 including headlight flickering, high pitched engine whistling, VDC warning light January 25, 2026 — all documented with timestamped photos and video. The vehicle is currently at Infiniti Roseville. I am requesting federal intervention as the dealer is not complying with recall R25B2 repair criteria and is applying internal standards that contradict Nissan’s published recall documentation INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
In November 2024, my 2019 Infiniti QX50 experienced a sudden and severe mechanical failure while driving. The vehicle unexpectedly lurched forward and then came to a complete stop in traffic. At that point, I was unable to shift the car into neutral or any other gear, which resulted in obstructing traffic. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic, who diagnosed a total engine failure and quoted repair costs between $15,000 and $20,000 related to a VRC component. Recently, I became aware of a recall concerning similar engine issues affecting certain Infiniti QX50 models. However, my vehicle’s VIN is not listed among those affected by the recall. Given the severity of the failure and the potential safety risks, I would like to formally file a complaint regarding the 2019 Infiniti QX50 to ensure this issue receives proper attention. Thank you for your time and consideration.
All vehicle doors and sometimes lift gate fail to open either by key fob or by indoor automatic door locks. Have to use Valet key to open driver door (alarm does not sound), then enter vehicle and manually unlock or lock desired door. Safety issue because kids can automatically exit or any individual can enter the vehicle unannounced while stopped. Neighbor has exact same vehicle year and model and is experiencing the same issues.
I was driving down an empty road, no one in front of me, beside me, or behind me and the automatic braking system applied itself and slammed on brakes abruptly and beeped twice, without any prior warning or obstruction, causing the car to jolt into braking. I have contacted the dealership regarding this and they are looking at the precollision and emergency braking system next week. There were no prior warnings this braking was occurring. The car has had multiple issues since purchasing including headlight blinking and replacement within the first month of ownership, automatic sunroof needing a replacement because it was installed in the factory wrong, and the door lock actuator not locking/ or unlocking upon clicking lock/unlock. The car has been in and out of the Infiniti dealership in the 4 months since purchase. The car was purchased September 2023, and it is now January 25th, 2024.
There is a continuous issues with my battery dying. There are multiple malfunction lights showing, particularly the rear collision light. The check engine light is also showing, and I have had an oil change recently. The car breaks on its own. While backing into a space, the steering wheel would not completely turn right until I straightened up the car. Finally. I have had my driver's side car seat repaired three times by the dealership. It works sometimes and not others. Any suggestions on any or all of this would be helpful. Thank you.
The driver seat electric motor has failed on three separate occasions. 7/29/21, mileage 22,984 9/3/21, Mileage 24156 7/12/22, Mileage 34,414 When the electric motor fails the seat can not move forward or back. Depending on the seat position at failure, certain individuals would not be able to reach the pedals to safely drive the vehicle. This could create a serious safety issue requiring some one to drive without reasonable control. Each time the motor failed it was replaced by the dealer. No warning lamps or indication of failure happened prior to the three times of this severe safety failure. As of 6/18/23 the seat has been working properly. I was in contact with a case worker at Infiniti numerous times ( between 7/11/22 and 8/11/22) and she did not think this was a serious problem, as if I was the only person reporting this issue. This was very troubling to me because it seemed to be a very serious safety issue. The last time I was at the dealer for service work (earlier this year) they revealed to me that this same issue has happened in other vehicles besides mine.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 INFINITI QX50. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD, ABNORMAL POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. SOON AFTER THE POPPING SOUND WAS HEARD, A BRIGHT FLASHED FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT BLANK HAD GONE BLANK WITH A BLUE STREAK ACROSS THE SCREEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY. THERE WAS ALSO AN ABNORMAL ODOR INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE SUN ROOF HOWEVER, THE SUN ROOF FAILED TO OPERATE AS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO CLEAR LAKE INFINITI (14705 GULF FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77034) WHERE AFTER TWO WEEKS, THE MECHANIC WAS STILL UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A BUY BACK WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
Multiple repeated problems with electrical system. Repeated crash sensor failure. This mainly happens when it is warm or sunny. The dealership has had the vehicle four times and the problem is still reoccurring. The malfunction light comes on when the car is first started or while driving. The dealership stated that none of the crash sensors work when it is lit. They have replaced the module that was diagnosed to be the problem, however there is still the same issues. They are going to replace the module again. They have replaced a module to control the wipers twice. The wipers still come on randomly when it is sunny, and the delay for the wipers does not work when it is raining. The cruise control stopped working and is throwing codes. This morning`s new warning was shift system malfunction. It's been in three times for the air-conditioner. The cooling fan was stuck on high speed until they replaced a sensor. The car was inspected and the brake pads were okay, however when the car stopped, there was a very loud pulsation. The dealership told me it needed rear brakes, which we replaced, and $600 later, they were still pulsating. After the second time taking it back, the dealer then said it was the tires which were new. We took it to a private garage, and the problem was warped, factory front rotars because they could not support the weight of the car. They were replaced with performance drilled and slotted rotars, which corrected the issue. The dealership cannot figure out the electrical issues, so they keep replacing the same parts and returning it back in a dangerous state. Since the vehicle is throwing so many codes and has so many malfunctions that I feel unsafe driving it. All of these problems problems started December 2019, when the car had 8000 miles on it. It has been to two different infiniti dealerships, neither being able to fix it. We have photos of all the codes, but when we tried to upload, it failed over and over.
STOPPED AT NIGHT, AT A RED LEFT TURN LIGHT, 3 LANE ROADWAY. NO ONE ON ROAD IN FRONT, PASSING ME, OR COMING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION. BACKUP CAMERA CAME ON, THE PICTURE OF THE VEHICLE APPEARED ON THE SCREEN, ALL WARNING SIGNALS CAME ON FOR AN IMMINENT HEAD-ON, SIDE-FRONT PASSENGER CRASH WAS ABOUT TO OCCUR. THESE WARNINGS FLASHED, THEN SCREEN TOTALLY BLACK. CAR WAS RUNNING, IN DRIVE, FOOT ON BRAKE WAITING FOR GREEN. NO TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY DUE TO HOUR AND LOCATION. THE SCREEN THEN FLASHED BACK ON, SAME REPEAT WARNINGS, BLACK SCREEN. COULD NOT GET SCREENSHOT, PHONE IN PURSE. LIGHT TURNED GREEN, TURNED LEFT ACROSS 2 MORE LANES, INTO DESTINATION PARKING LOT. SCREEN CAME BACK ON, STAYED 'NORMAL' REST OF DAYTIME DRIVING, UNTIL 2 DAYS LATER DAYTIME DRIVING ON 4 LANE HIGHWAY, THE IMMINENT WARNING SYSTEM DID NOT COME ON WHEN A VEHICLE IN FRONT HIT BRAKES, 60 MPH TRAFFIC. I WAS DISTRACTED BY A CELL PHONE 'PING', LOOKED DOWN, THEN BACK UP TO SEE THE BRAKE LIGHTS, WAS ABE TO STOP IN TIME. CALLED THE SALESPERSON WHERE PURCHASED, AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, ON HER RECOMMENDATION, THEN SERVICE # AT CERTIFIED DEALER WHERE I WAS CURRENTLY LOCATED, 4 + HRS AWAY FROM DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED. WAS TOLD BY THIS SERVICE CENTER REP, 'NEVER HEARD OF THIS ONE, BUT WE CAN GET YOU IN ON AUG 19TH. (IT WAS AUG 10TH AT TIME OF MY CALL), IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, GET IT TOWED EITHER HERE, OR DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED.' AFTER THE NEAR REAR-END CRASH, WITH NO ALERT ACTIVATED, MY DECISION TO RETURN VEHICLE VIA NOTICE TO DEALERSHIP SALES MANAGER WAS MADE. DEALERSHIP SALES MANAGER NEVER RESPONDED TO MY EMAIL STATING I WAS CANCELLING PURCHASE OF HIS VEHICLE. 2 SALESPEOPLE WERE SENT TO DRIVE IT BACK, DESPITE THE RECOMMENDATION OF THAT OUT OF TOWN SERVICE REP. TO TOW IT IF 'ANOTHER INCIDENT'. CONCERNED MORE INCIDENTS MAY OCCUR WITH THIS VEHICLE, THAT IT WILL BE WASHED, WAXED, RETURNED FOR SALE TO ANOTHER DRIVER.
MY WIFE OPENED THE REAR LIFTGATE USING THE OUTSIDE ELECTRONIC DOOR SWITCH ON THE LIFTGATE. THE LIFTGATE ELECTRICALLY FULLY OPENED. MY WIFE STARTED TO LOAD ITEMS INTO THE REAR OF THE SUV. THE DOOR ELECTRICALLY CLOSED ON ITS OWN. THE DOOR STRUCK THE BACK OF MY WIFE'S HEAD BEFORE SHE COULD GET OUT OF THE WAY. THE DOOR DID NOT STOP OR OPEN AUTOMATICALLY, OR DETECT AN OBJECT IN ITS PATH. SHE TRIED TO REOPEN THE LIFTGATE USING THE SWITCH, AND IT RAISED ABOUT 5 INCHES AND THEN IMMEDIATELY SHUT. SHE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE HOME AND TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED. I OPENED THE REAR LIFTGATE USING THE EXTERIOR SWITCH AS SHE HAD. THE GATE FULLY OPENED ELECTRICALLY AND WITHOUT STOPPING IT IMMEDIATELY CLOSED. I TRIED TO OPEN THE LIFTGATE AGAIN AND IT LIFTED ABOUT 5 INCHES AND IMMEDIATELY CLOSED. SHE DROVE THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND SHOWED THE INFINITI OF CORAL GABLES SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY REPEATED THE ACTIONS, THE DOOR OPENED AND IMMEDIATELY CLOSED BY ITSELF. I CONTACTED INFINITI CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY OPENED INCIDENT 36294200. THEY GAVE HER A LOANER CAR AND HAVE REQUESTED THE DEALER NOT REPAIR THE CAR UNTIL A SPECIALIST ARRIVES. THE CAR WAS PARKED AND NOT RUNNING ON ALL THREE OCCASIONS.
BACKUP CAMERA AND NAV SCREEN WENT BLANK. COULDN'T USE THE BACKUP CAMERA BACKING UP IN GARAGE.
