Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Infinity QX60. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 99,500. It was later discovered that the mileage on the title was 165,000. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for an oil change, and the contact was informed about the mileage discrepancy.
As The vehicles drive it will intermittently lose power. This is continuous problem ever since 2 weeks after I purchased the vehicle. The power loss can last for 1 sec or most recently up to about 3 to 4 secs. The other day I had to pull over after the vehicle lost power and wait two minutes before starting back on the drive. When it loses power, the power steering goes out and if approaching a turn and/or a decent curve in the road, that can be very hazardous. I Believe this is a huge safety concern and many people have experienced the same malfunctions.
Transmission is shuttering when pushing on the gas
The fuel sensors on the car is not recognizing I have gas in my car, the battery and engine like come on while driving , then the whole system shuts off will the car is still driving.
I saw engine warning lamp. It reported Transmission problem. When I press the gas pedal I feel the a lot of shudder .
In the beginning when I pull off the car shudders and jerks speed was delayed. Now in the middle of driving with some speed the car beginnings to strain and barely move although the gauge shows I’m going 40 miles the car is straining and going under 5 miles. This started maybe a year ago but now it is much worser.
The contact owned a 2015 Infinity QX60. The contact stated that while his wife was stopped at a traffic light, black smoke was emitting from under both front seats, and entered the interior of the cab. The contact's wife returned to the work parking lot, however, the black smoke and flames were excessive and immediately exited the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. All the air bags deployed. The contact's wife was transported to the hospital by co-workers. The doctor examined that the contact's wife had sustained 2nd degree burns on both arms and hands that required medical attention. The Fire and Police reports were filed. The vehicle was consumed by the fire and destroyed. The vehicle was towed to an unknown location. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact notified her insurance company. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
Transmission has a shudder between 15-20 MPH around 1000-1500 RPM. Mainly happens in STD mode, other modes run at higher RPMs but does still happen on occasion.
supplemental air bag warning light is on. also the passenger airbag light is on.
The car intermittently will not accelerate after being idle at stop signs etc. this has occurred on 3-5 instances in the last 4 months. All but one time when getting the vehicle later it didn't have any issues. The battery has been tested and is good, I cleaned the terminals and still had it occur. Upon reading an Infiniti forum it sounds like it is an intermittent alternator issue or electric module. This put my daughter in a stalled vehicle in an intersection several times after trying to troubleshoot issues to resolve it.
We purchased this vehicle 3 days ago. Day 2 there was a transmission shudder. I know these cvt transmissions have issues but with less than 18k miles??? I looked up and yes infiniti extended the warranty but we no longer qualify for this I don't think this is fair! IT HAS 18K MILES on it. The fact infiniti didn't recall the transmission is ridiculous. There are thousands of people experiencing shudder issues, cars dying, this is a danger to the drivers and their families. Why is there no recall? Extending a warranty didn't do anything! This cvt needs to be recalled and fixed so people aren't in danger of crashing.
As I was driving my vehicle just turned off at the speed of 30 miles per hour with no warning no dash lights of any kind. It just shut off completely. I had to pull over to the side in hopes I don't hit anything, or anyone put my vehicle into park and restart my vehicle and this happened at around 2:45 PM. Early it happened at 12:15 PM, as I was turning around in a parking lot, the car shut off again and I had to place it in park and restart the vehicle.
transmission slip and jerk and it's hard to accelerate
Transmission Shudder at low Speeds, I see Many Complaints on this Issue. Hopefully something gets done!!!!
• Intake air temperature: high input circuit •It's in a mechanic shop. To change automic transmission. •Unknown •Yes, at the mechanic shop it is at. •Yes, mechanic shop. •Approximately the last days of January the car started feeling "bumpy" when driving. And it was also slow.
On January 23, 2024, while driving home I heard what sounded like a gun shot. I checked that I was ok and exited the freeway. I pulled over and got out of my vehicle and noticed the sunroof/moonroof was shattered. I looked for overpasses and there were none in my area. I called the authorities. Once the officer arrived he noticed that the glass was bubbled out from the vehicle and not inward as it would be if someone or something struck the glass. The sunroof/moonroof shattered. I had to exit the freeway due to being startled by the loud sound of the glass shattering. Unknown on the glass breaking being reproduced. The sunroof/moonroof was inspected by a police officer. No warning or safety lights came on.
The liftgate latch failed recently. It would not secure, thus causing a safety issue. Anyone or anything could have fallen out of the vehicle. The latch assembly cost $500, and another $197 for installation. T2 automotive in Palatine made the repairs on 1/22/2024. The same repair was made under warranty at Motorwerks Infiniti back in 2017. The liftgate door open indicator did go on. No alarm came on prior to the failure. I believe this to be a faulty design of the liftgate latch.
Vehicle looses power randomly. No engine or warning lights. RPMs will rev but car will not go into gear or drive. I can shut off the vehicle for a couple hours then restart and will drive fine until randomly happens again.
The alternator went bad and this was not picked up on multiple diagnosis inspections and therefore this caused continuous safety risks as they kept replacing parts that didn’t need to be fixed due to incorrect diagnosis codes being thrown. My vehicle stalled in the middle of the highway after multiple fixes/inspections due to this issue and the alternator shouldn’t even be going bad.
While accelerating from a complete stop, the transmission does not seem to fully engage and the car shudders while taking off.
Hello the CVT transmission in these 2014-2017 vehicles have been known to be defective. Apparently Infiniti settled a lawsuit that was suing them for this exact reason. They settled without admitting fault. Problem with that is all these vehicles are still on the road and customers are unaware. They say they informed us but I can assure you I never was informed. They also sent a service bulletin to their dealerships telling them to expect problems and to fix if brought in. The vehicles are dangerous without a doubt. They shake, shudder and lose acceleration with no warning. No lights come on the dash or anything. Someone will lose their life, if they haven’t already. The law firm had company emails showing they were going to do a recall. Corporate greed is my guess, got in the way. Now unsuspecting customers are driving ticking time bombs. Also owners are trying to sell these vehicles to unsuspecting customers. There is no way this should be acceptable in my opinion and am extremely disappointed with the lack of concern I’ve received from the company. We are paying for a so called “luxury” vehicle only to find out later that the transmission should of been recalled years ago. Here I sit with my 20k used vehicle blue book broken down car now. It’ll cost $9800 to fix. Just isn’t right and I hope I’m finding someone that will at minimum look into it. Please, do us all a favor before it’s to late. Thank you.
When tempature is hot outside or if I sit in idle for a while in traffic, car starts skipping, stalling and shuts off. I’ve already taken it to two dealerships to be fixed and spent thousands of dollars and it starts doing it again in a few months.
I took my 2015 qx60 into the infiniti dealership on 4/3/2023 because it was misfiring, was told that there was a coolant leakage into cylinder 2, I need to get a new motor and was given a 25,671.77 quote. I just had my car at the same dealership on 1/26/2023 and was told that everything was fine with my car. The problem started in March and I just had gotten gas, so I thought it was bad gas and needed to drive it out. But when I finally driven it out and got more from another station the problem persist. During this time my service engine light did not come on, my car did not run hot nor did it smoking and it only has 77k. I am the original owner of this car and could not believe that the lifecycle of this luxury car is only 7 years, so I reached out to infiniti consumer affairs on 4/10/2023 for help to make sure that this is not a manufacturers defect. I was told by the representative that opened a case for me to have my car towed to another dealership for a second opinion which I did on 4/11/2023. My infiniti dealership advisor called me on 4/12/2023 and said that it would be $3000 to do a deep dive into the motor, so I called infiniti consumer affairs back and after the new representative came up to speed on my case, I was told that they would not help me with find the cause of this leakage. My warranty just expired on 12/19/2022 and I feel completely blindsided because when I purchase my brand new infifniti qx60 I thought I was purchasing a reliable car that I would have for longer than the 2004 nissan sentra that I traded in after having it for 11 years.
Car stops when turning a corner. When turning it back on, it moves slow and it might have power to move but then it goes slow. The battery will drain quickly and the it stops all together. It's like the engine just goes out.
The contact owns a 2015 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the steering wheel became inoperable. The contact maneuvered the steering wheel in the correct direction, and the power steering warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned off, the steering wheel failed to lock as designed. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer several times however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Vehicle keeps shutting off mid drive have to jump it to get it started. It runs ok for 1-2 days then dies again. Tested battery and checked alternator to no avail. The ac cooling fan goes up and down and draws a ton of power from the vehicle. All local mechanics can’t figure it out.
The brakes will go to the floor on its own and won’t stop and almost rear ended vehicles or ran lights due to not being able to stop. The brake issue has been reproduced and noted on service records. I am a 100% disabled veteran that requires a mobility scooter for mobility and appointments. The other issue is the vehicle will loose power anywhere and anytime and has to be towed in by AAA to the Infiniti dealership every time and they say the issue cannot be reproduced and I have gone thru their complaint system and they are in the process of sending technicians to finally look at the vehicle. I am afraid if this car because the last time it happened it almost killed me because it just lost power and brakes on an Oklahoma interstate at around 70mph and had to coast to the right side service area to wait for AAA was almost rear ended twice in the process of getting to a safe area. My family and I are in danger anytime we drive this vehicle and have an extended Infiniti elite warranty thru manufacture. The vehicle in question is a 2015 Infiniti QX60 and was purchased in 10/16/2019 with 24555 miles on it and have had problems with car since day one. Please Please help we do not want to die. We have all recorded messages where Infiniti makes excuse after excuse after excuse to do anything about our safety.
Upon arrival home, my wife and son had their doors open (driver's and passenger's front doors) and were in the process of getting out the vehicle. Shortly after, the vehicle began to roll backwards down the driveway, scraping the passenger front door along my truck. My son had to run backwards to get out from between the two vehicles. He could have been knocked by the door and run over. My wife attempted to press the brakes but the vehicle was off so the brakes did not work. It rolled back into the street and stopped on the curb on the other side. Thankfully no cars were passing by and hit the car as it rolled backward. After realizing that she and my son weren't hurt, she turned the vehicle on and drove it partially into the driveway to get it out of the street. The passenger front door was bent forward and was not able to be closed on it's own. It took some force to get it to the point where we could pull it into the garage. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and repaired under insurance. To my knowledge, the physical damage was repaired but no investigation into why the vehicle suddenly rolled backward was conducted while it was in the shop. We have not had a chance to take it in since we got it back from the body shop. No warning lights or symptoms of any kind had previously presented themselves. Pictures and the repair bill are available to share along with a video from our doorbell camera.
The contact owns a 2015 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost power steering functionality with the power steering warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
The SUNROOF SHATTERED while I was driving on Highway, glass fell down all over me. Sound like a Gunshot, I am a veteran with PTSD already and it scared me. Thankfully I was able to hold myself together until I got to the dealership, then I broke down.
Shortly after purchasing this used vehicle from CarMax, the vehicle began experiencing serious mechanical failures involving the engine/emissions system, braking system, and suspension. The vehicle displayed a check engine warning light, and the selling dealer, CarMax Schaumburg, confirmed issues requiring repair, including a faulty oxygen sensor, brake-related repairs, and a suspension link. The vehicle was taken in for service, parts were ordered, and repairs were performed. Despite these repairs, the same issues reoccurred, requiring the vehicle to be returned for additional repair attempts. The problems were therefore reproduced after the initial repair, confirming the existence of unresolved defects. The vehicle was not reliably safe during this period. These failures posed safety risks due to reduced braking reliability, compromised vehicle stability, and engine performance concerns, which could affect drivability and safe operation under normal conditions. The defects were confirmed and serviced by the dealer, as documented through service communications and voicemail messages from CarMax. Warning indicators, including the check engine light, were present prior to repair and prompted service visits. Exact mileage at the time of the incidents is UNKNOWN, as it was not clearly disclosed at purchase. Before the issues were fully and permanently resolved, the vehicle was repossessed, resulting in the loss of the vehicle while unresolved safety and mechanical defects existed. The repossession prevented further inspection or repair by the consumer. The repaired components and service records should be available for inspection through the dealer. No police or insurance inspection occurred in connection with a collision, as the issue involved mechanical and safety defects rather than an accident.
The contact owns a 2015 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light on the passenger’s side continuously flashed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed the failure with the air bag. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,483.
The vehicle on at least 4 occasions has stopped accelerating when driving the vehicle (first time I believe was fall 2021, this last time was Spring 2022). Most of the times that the issue was noticed, the car was was moving at slower speeds (35 or less). The engine remained running but pressing on the gas pedal didn't make the vehicle increase it's speed. The first time it did this we took it to the dealership to inspect. They could not replicate the issue and they said that no error codes showed up. We left with no repairs or answers. It happened 2 more times after that. Each of those times we were able to stop the vehicle and get it to go again or it would start to respond to pushing on the gas pedal and would accelerate. The 4th time this happened I was in the middle of an intersection turning and it wouldn't accelerate. I was able to slowly roll into a gas station. I tried stopping and turning the vehicle off and on again to see if the problem would go away, however each time the car only slowly inched forward. I parked and then the vehicle started acting weird. The AC shut off and the steering wheel locked. There were three error lights that came on. The first said "FCW Malfunction See Owner's Manual" and second was "IBA OFF" and then the "! inside a triangle" appeared. These appeared only after stopping the vehicle for the last time right before it wouldn't start again. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. The error reading they got was c1601 and they believe the alternator needs to be replaced. This doesn't seem to line up with the issues we have been having nor the error warning lights that appeared. The last time this happened my child was in the car with me. Had we pulled out to turn and the car wouldn't go we could have very easily been hit by oncoming traffic. It is very troubling that the dealership doesn't seem to really know what is wrong with the car.
The radiator cooling fan malfunctioned on Infinity QX60 model after 39000 miles on the odometer. Engine cooling mechanism fails that may result in overheat/engine failure or potential fire. It is a known defect on infinity qx60 and Nissan Pathfinders. It costs $1200 to replace the fan assembly. Infinity is aware of this defect/faulty part and will not recall to correct the defect and put the burden on consumers to spend over a thousand dollars to correct the issue.
Moisture in headlight results in headlight shortage. Moisture in headlight is not a result of collision or damage. Per service bulletin Classification: EL03-031L Reference ITB03-051L, the headlight moisture issue is an ongoing issue for 2011-2019 Infiniti's all models.
My vehicle only 67k miles and wheel bearing already bad, replace 2 weeks ago and hmm noise get worsen without warning light, diagnosed from infiniti dealer saying that Transfer case costing $6400 to repair, and not allowing to drive, I can't afford to fix and need vehicle to work. Please help me to file complaint, thank you.
The contact owns a 2015 Infinity QX60. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle started to stall. The contact pulled over and waited for about 30 minutes to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was started and driven back to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer to be diagnosed: however, no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
While driving on a state highway at approximately 65 mph, there was a loud exploding sound followed by loud rushing air. I quickly realized that my sunroof glass had shattered. Fortunately the sunroof shade was closed so no glass came into the vehicle. Besides myself driving, both of my kids were sitting in the back seat and could have been injured by flying glass shards. There were no other vehicles around me and nothing apparently struck my vehicle.
Shuddering, shaking & skipping while driving. It’s a nightmare. The car (QX60- 2015) can’t go over 20 miles without “jumping” on me. I am fearing for my safety. It’s only a bulletin by Infiniti and not a recall. This is unacceptable.
The contact owns a 2015 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while her son was driving 70 mph, the front and rear passenger’s side seat air bag deployed inadvertently. The driver pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and checked the vehicle. The vehicle was not struck by an object for the air bag to deploy. The driver continued driving back to the residence. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact reached out to the local dealer for the vehicle to be inspected however, an appointment was not yet scheduled. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 52,000.
Transmission failed. The car was shuddering for a while now. The term "shuddering" I learned after describing issue to dealer who told me that looks like a transmission issue. After paying $170 to get it checked, I was told that transmission has premature failure code and must be replaced. I was told that the car is under 60K mileage, but over time period of warranty period by 2 months. They gave me a quote of around $6,500 to replace transmission. My car is 2015 Infinit QX60, which is exactly the same as 2014 version (which has transmission recall). The problem apparently was not fixed for 2015 version, but the recall was only issues for 2013 and 2014. I contacted Initini, however they told me to contact their legal team. This issue should be put on recall.
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, SUNROOF EXPLODED SPONTANEOUSLY. LARGE HOLE IN SUNROOF GLASS. SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN WENT OFF FOLLOWED BY SHATTERED GLASS. THERE WAS NO PRIOR DAMAGE TO THE GLASS BEFORE IT EXPLODED.
VEHICLE HAS 73,000 MILES. WHEN DRIVING AND ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHAKE, JERK AND VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. THIS HAPPENS AT BOTH LOCAL AND HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE FREQUENCY IN WHICH THIS OCCURS HAS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY OVER THE PAST WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THIS IS A "PREMATURE TRANSMISSION FAILURE" AND IS RECOMMENDING A FULL REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION AT THE CUSTOMERS EXPENSE. NISSAN/INFINITI IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, BUT IS APPARENTLY TAKING NO OWNERSHIP IN HELPING CUSTOMERS WITH RESOLVING THIS PREMATURE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE BULLETIN THAT THE MANUFACTURE HAS ISSUED NEEDS TO BE ESCALATED TO A RECALL. AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER IS OVERDUE AS NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS TRANSMISSION FAILURE.
ON MARCH 26, 2021 THE SUNROOF EXPLODED AND SHATTERED DURING COMMUTE HOME FROM WORK IN DALLAS ON I30 EASTBOUND NEAR THE FERGUSON ROAD EXIT. TRAFFIC WAS SURPRISINGLY LIGHT AND THERE WERE NO LARGE TRUCKS NEAR ME.
