NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2017 Infiniti QX60. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
The contact owns a 2017 Infinity QX60. The contact stated that while driving 55-60 MPH, the moonroof suddenly exploded, causing shattered glass to fall inside the vehicle. The contact sustained minor scratches. The contact was able to exit the highway and pulled into a convenience store parking lot. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact determined that the failure had occurred without external impact. The local dealer and the insurance company were notified of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.
The Infiniti QX 60 with the CVT Transmission has been a safety issue in the model year 2015- 2018. I was driving the vehicle on 3/18/2026 when the transmission stopped and cause my car to stop in traffic almost causing me to be in an accident. The car was tolled to the Infiniti dealership and I was later told that my vehicle was included in the CVT transmission settlement however it expired in August 2025 and said they will not repair I had to pay out of pocket.
The continuous variable transmission (CVT) in my 2017 Infiniti QX60 failed due to faulty components. They are failing to cover the repair and take accountability for the faulty equipment even though they have admitted to the part quality issue.
While driving, the vehicle displayed an engine malfunction warning followed by a low oil pressure warning. I pulled over and waited. The oil level was checked and was not empty. The warning lights briefly went out, but shortly afterward the engine lost power. When attempting to restart the vehicle, the engine began knocking. The vehicle became inoperable and required towing. This was a sudden engine failure with no prior indication of oil loss, leak, or neglect. This created a safety concern due to sudden loss of power while driving.
The car died suddenly while driving. The battery is only a few months old. Prior to dying a few warning lamps suddenly came on but there was no prior warning. The engine did not overheat, there was no smoke, or check engine light until the car suddenly died. I have been advised that I need a new engine. I have been researching and it appears many others have similar issues with their Infiniti engines. Its [XXX] Please look into this. It’s odd to me that so many folks engines have died at what is actually low mileage. It’s also pretty frustrating and depressing, the repairs can go up to the cost of a new vehicle, when this appears to be a design flaw. I’m starting to meet way to many folks whose Infiniti or Nissan suddenly needs a new trans or engine as soon as the warranty ends. Timing chain completely went when I had been complaining of a noise while it was under warranty. I was stranded on the side of the road. The starter completely went while driving. Now, I am told the transfer case is bad and I had to pull on side of road to a repair shop.
I am writing to bring to your attention a serious safety issue I experienced with my Infiniti QX60, which I believe warrants immediate investigation and action. On 3/15/25, during a family trip for spring break, I was driving my 2017 Infiniti QX60 at approximately 75 mph on the highway when the sunroof suddenly exploded without warning. The sound was akin to gunfire, and the shock of the incident left my family and me deeply shaken. The explosion occurred without any prior impact or debris hitting the vehicle, and there were no adverse weather conditions that could have contributed to the incident. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the situation could have been far worse had the glass shattered inward or caused a loss of vehicle control. This incident caused significant inconvenience and financial burden. I was 350 miles from home and had to divert to the nearest town to assess the damage and determine how to proceed. Since the incident occurred on a Saturday, no repairs could be made until the following Monday, leaving my family stranded and forcing us to incur additional expenses for lodging, meals, and alternate transportation to reach our destination, which was still 150 miles away. Upon researching this issue, I discovered numerous reports from other Infiniti QX60 owners who have experienced similar spontaneous sunroof explosions. Despite the apparent frequency of these incidents, there has been no indication of a recall or any corrective action from the manufacturer. This is deeply concerning, as it poses a significant safety risk to drivers, passengers, and others on the road. I urge the NHTS to investigate this matter thoroughly and consider mandating a recall or other corrective measures to address this defect in Infiniti QX60 vehicles. Additionally, I hope that steps can be taken to ensure that current and future owners are protected from this potentially dangerous issue. Please let me know if there is any additional information needed.
About a year ago, I was driving about 80 mph and the dash lights and radio just died, then within seconds everything came back on. It only happened that one time. The other day, I was on a busy highway headed home when my battery light came on. I just replaced both the alternator and battery less than a year ago. I started inching over to the left land (just in case) when the car just died and I had to coast to a stop in the middle of the highway WITH MY 3 KIDS!!! The police came and I was able to start the car and pull it on the shoulder, then a tow truck came and dropped it off at Infiniti. They had my car for 2 days and couldn't find anything and they told me to come and pick it up. Within 30 minutes of me picking it up, it did the same thing so I took it right back to Infiniti and dropped it off. Today, they called me and it was finally doing what I said it was doing. Battery light, electrical cuts off and car just dies.
On [XXX] took the car into the Infiniti dealership for the routine oil change with potential issue with timing chain noise on cold startup. The dealership explained that the warranty will not cover drivetrain. After the oil change and driving the car back home, the “check engine” light came on. I contacted infiniti regarding the drivetrain problems that consumers are seeing with this engine and CVT. The chain noise I hear and the video I shared during our appointment. Many are reporting the timing chain noise, sludge and CVT problems, starting at 85k miles. I wasn’t happy with Infiniti response on life of a drivetrain. Why would anyone pay $60k on a car if you its design to run only 100k miles, I would have purchased a $20k car instead. In fact, I have a Acura RDX with 200k miles with no drivetrain issues. " Email send to infiniti consumer affairs. Hello Dennis, Per our conversation regarding the powertrain warranty and my concern regarding industrial standard of a premium luxury vehicle design and life. I don’t agree with Infiniti position that at 135K miles is a full life of an engine and the problems with powertrain ( P0017 and 17F1CVT) is a common issue. No other vehicle will have engine failure and transmission failure at 135K miles. I have other vehicle that drive beyond 250K miles ( (Nissan Maxima and Acura RDX at 200k miles), that had routine maintenance and repair, but never engine or transmission problem. I perform regular maintenance on all my cars since age 16. It’s a shame that a high end vehicle customer has to face these major repair. I believe the 2017 infinti Qx60 with CVT is a faulty design. It is a design related issue, which Infiniti should recall and correct. Many of the Infiniti consumer forums that I have read on this subject, suggest a similar performance and potential disaster at 90-120K miles. The car starts when it wants to and doesn't when it wants to. Sometimes a few hours later it will start others a day or 2... nothing comes up when scanning, no codes. What is the deal?
I have a 2017 QX 60 Infiniti and when I was driving it it just automatically lost power. I replaced the battery and the alternator the vehicle drives about 15 minutes and loses power again.
ABS lit stayed lit and AWD error lit also on.
The passenger airbag warning light on my 2017 QX60 AWD began flashing non-stop, indicating that the airbag was not working properly. After bringing it to the Infiniti dealer, the stated that the ODB code B00A0 was showing up, which is for the Occupant Classification System (OCS) for the passenger airbag. In order to fix this, they need to replace both OCS seat sensors, as well as the OCS module, at a cost of $1,600. Until this repair is made, the passenger airbag will not work in a collision. This is the same issue that has plagued various Infiniti models in prior years, including the QX60 (2014-16) which were included in a recall (NHTSA# 16V-244). It is obvious that the issue also exists in the 2017 models, and the recall should be expanded to include this year as well.
Dear Infiniti Consumer Affairs, I am writing to express my concern about the recent transmission failure in my vehicle. This is the second time I have experienced a transmission failure in less than a year. The first transmission failure occurred on around May of 2023. The symptoms were as follows: The transmission gave out while on the highway, causing the vehicle to not start or drive. The transmission would not shift gears at 4000 RPMs unless I let off the gas and then gave it gas again. I took my vehicle to the dealership on sometime in May 2024, and they replaced the transmission after they tried to do a valve body that was recommended by the warranty department. Later, I was told that the failure was caused by a Faulty Transmission and was on recall notice. The second transmission failure occurred on 4/5/2024. The symptoms were as follows: The transmission would not shift gears at 4000 RPMs unless I let off the gas and then gave it gas again. The transmission would sometimes slip out of gear while driving. The transmission would make a grinding noise when shifting gears. My wife is taking the vehicle to the dealership on 04/08/2024, and they are currently diagnosing the problem. I am concerned that this is a recurring issue with my vehicle, and I am worried that it will continue to happen. I am also concerned about the safety of my vehicle, the safety of myself my wife and my kids as a transmission failure could cause both her and I to lose control while driving. I am requesting that you investigate this matter and take the necessary steps to resolve the issue. I would like to know what caused the transmission to fail, and I would like to know what steps can be taken to prevent it from happening again. I am also requesting that you provide me with a loaner vehicle while my vehicle is being repaired. my wife needs a vehicle for work, and she cannot afford to be without it. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. If you need to reach
Vehicle began ticking in early 2023. Then received check engine light and trouble codes P0014 and P0017. Took to Infiniti dealership. Dealership claimed "sludge - you did not change oil regularly, " which I did - either at Valvoline, Wal-Mart, or by myself. Multiple online forums about Infiniti QX60 indicate all the dealership mechanics are saying the SAME thing to customers who are having this issue. Dealership claimed vehicle would need NEW engine priced at over $17,000!! They are doing this nationwide and globally. Infiniti KNOWS there is an engine defect leading to sludge and failed engine. My engine did fail in April 2024, but thankfully in my home driveway and not at high speeds - this would have been deadly had it happened on a major highway!
The vehicle needs a completely new engine and I had made it known that I want to trade in the vehicle the very next day but was told that I need to wait until 30 days has past. I have reached out to the Loan institution and have documentation provided below of that INFINITI database in November of 2023 that this same vehicle needed a new engine. Both my children were hospitalized for breathing in these toxic vapors that were released from the tailpipe of the vehicle to which HGREG said they resolved and did not, as soon as vehicle started up the whole dealership came outside thinking someone's vehicle was on fire. Both my children are age 2 1/2 and 11 months old. Both were on breathing treatments due to the level of carbon monoxide released in vehicle while driving.
Air bag lamp is flashing - took it to dealer to diagnose and advise. They found that DTC B0020-13 for side airbag module left hand, per ESM first step is to check harness - verified harness isn't disconnected or obvious damage to harness per infiniti ESM SRS system diagnosis. Was advised no procedure for voltage check or continuity - infiniti asks to replace parts step by step. Was advised the following - recommend starting repairs with first replacing side airbag module left hand side. if that doesn't correct infiniti asks to replace airbag diagnostic sensor unit and if not all related harness.
A mechanic says it is PCM failure. I have owned the car for 18 months. Shortly after buying it, it started doing this thing where it loses power for just a second or two. Cruise control and proximity sensors kick off, steering wheel locks and/or power steering turns off, all interior components turn off. Usually everything comes right back on, and I can reset the cruise control. Lately it has been more frequent, and things don't go back to normal. It sometimes causes the vehicle to stall and not start as well. Today even once things are back "on", I can't control the AC fan, radio volume, etc. Bluetooth shows connected to the car on my phone but isn't playing through the vehicle speakers. I don't undersrand how this could not be a recall when it poses a major safety risk to suddenly lose power and be unable to steer the vehicle! This has been happening since Feb 2024, so I'll just put the original date. Sometimes it happens 15 times in a day and the vehicle is more or less not drivable. Other times I'll go a month or so with no glitches.
My vehilce only has 31000 miles on it and the cooling fan went out, was not due to anything that I did driving wise. When I called Infiniti Warranty Divison in Franklin Tennessee they said they are aware of the complaints by other customers they said they issued a technical bullentin ITB17-048 but said there was no reason for a recall but they deemed it necassry to make a design change which fixed this problem and also required a module change also. They said they are not responsible for the problem, but if that is true then why did they make the design change. So any owners with old design will have an issue and will have to replace the unit. So I am glad that I was not on the road driving and would have been stuck in the heat trying to get the car repaired. There was no warnings about the issues and even though they may the dealers aware of the issue no notice was sent owners. Please review the number of complaints that were made online about this issue. Feel like they just took advantage of me because this was not a problem I created but was due to poor design. Also the cooling fans are no longer made of metal but of plastic, what is life expectancy of this part.
Driving West on I8 from AZ into San Diego my vehicle would lose all ability to accelerate and start decelerating on the upward climbs of the Crestwood Summit highway pass through the Cuyamaca Mountains. Not only it would continue to lose complete driving power and we had to pull over many time to turn the car off and let it sit for 10 minutes. It was not over heated and no lights were on with any indication of failure. During decents and on plateaus it resumed its completely normal functioning. I immediately brought it in to Oceanside CA Infiniti where they told me they don’t know what it wrong so they can’t fix it and I have to basically drive back to AZ through the mountains again and break down (it’s 115 degrees and almost 1.5 hours in both directions to any town) to figure out what was wrong. It’s incredibly dangerous and clearly not safe
The vehicle shudders and the transmission shifts up and down and has a high squeal when driving. The transmission does this cold and at operating temperature.
WHEN GETTING VEHICLE OUT OF SPOT AND TURNING WHEEL TO LEFT REAR VEHICLE VIBRATING/BINDING. DEALER INFORMED REAR COUPLER NEEDED TO CHANGED. I FOUND THERE IS ALREADY RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR SAME MODEL BUT SOME REASON MY VIN DOES NOT QUALIFY.
The car has shut off twice while (once on the highway) and once on a side street. Lost power and locked up. Prior to the shut offs power flickered. No problem identified with Infiniti but appears so be a known issue amongst the infiniti community. Are these cars safe??????
The contact owns a 2017 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The contact stated that he was approaching an exit at the time and was able to coast the vehicle off the freeway into a parking area where the vehicle failed to restart. The contact stated that there were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and later towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the alternator, and corrosion on the battery terminals. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 142,000.
Infiniti Hyman Bros failed to complete my infiniti qx60 2017 in a timely manner. Appointment made for 2 months. Waited 2 hrs in house for repair to be made and was told the parts are not available.
Driving on highway, sunroof was closed properly and it suddenly exploded causing glass shards to fly everywhere.
The contact owns a 2017 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that he placed his grandson in the vehicle and the rear passenger’s side door shut closed. The contact attempted to open the door however, the door failed to open. The contact attempted to unlock the door by depressing the unlock button however, the door would not open. The contact also attempted to open the door from the inside of the vehicle and the door would not open. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the mechanic stated that the door lock actuator was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a voicemail message was left. The failure mileage was 76,000.
COMPONENTS :LATCHES/LOCK Vehicle: 2017 Infiniti Qx60 Date of incident: 6/16/2022/ Mileage 80,000 Safety concern: in the event of a crash or fire, a jammed door could delay response time and cause severe injury or death. I was placing my grandchild in the rear passenger seating area when I closed the door, drove to the local market and was unable to open the door from the inside of the cabin or from the outside. I tried several times to use the unlock button and the door still did not open. No dashboard warnings came on before or after the failure. I took the vehicle to the dealership, they were also UNABLE to open the door after several attempts and was told by the mechanic that the door actuator was defective and to fix the problem would cause SEVERE damage to in the inside of the door. I then contacted the manufacturer and was told they have not heard of this issue and no active recalls are listed for my concern.
While there is no specific incident, the hood latch does not open the hood of the car. I noticed this for the first time on 3/19/2022 when I tried to fill the car with windshield washer fluid. I'm also not confident that the hood is latched safely. Please advise!!
We bought the car used at about 24,000 miles. No engine lights were on. After about a month of owning it smoke would come from the exhaust when started. Took it in to be look at and was told it was a fuel injector and it was replaced. No more issues for about 6 months when it suddenly lost power on the interstate at dawn barley made it to the side of the road without getting ran over. Had to have it towed to a shop where I was told it was a bad coil and they replaced it. Went to pick the car up and less than a mile down the road it lost power again. Took it down for Infiniti to look at it. They said it had previously had engine sludge and that the warranty was voided because of it. After online searches, this seems to be a regular occurrence for this year and model. They recommend a new Engine for $14,000. Now stuck with a vehicle that won’t run with a monthly payment I’m making on it.
2017 INFINIT QX60. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE CONSUMER STATED ON OCCASION, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED HESITATION WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FROM A STOP.
While driving the car the engine suddenly stopped completely and we rolled the car to the side of the road. Had this happened on the highway a bit earlier it could have been a major accident as it was snowing heavily and there were snow plows and semis at high speeds. For the next 15 min the car would start and engine would stop on trying to accelerate. After raising the engine in reverse the car stayed on and we were able to come home. (I found across similar experiences from other Infiniti owners online.) Note : at a little over 70K mile the car had an issue where the acceleration suddenly dropped while driving. Dealer told us the engine was shot and we had to replace the engine. The new current engine also had some instances of erratic acceleration but dealer said no issue was found on diagnostics.
We bought the car used at 63,000 miles (approx.). At 65,000 (approx.) the engine will not crank. No engine lights were on. Infiniti will not acknowledge warranty due to engine sludge even though it has been maintained. After online searches, this seems to be a regular occurrence for this model and year.
When breaking the pedal starts to bounce and make a super loud noise like if the rear tire is flat. It does it sporadically at low speed breaking making it hard to stop the car. I have taken it ti the dealer numerous time and the Infiniti special mechanic cant find the issue. Also, when driving on the highway the slippery sensor turns on slowing down the car suddenly almost causing an accident. The awd overheating sensor turns on as well all the time as well as the one for mismatch tires. This has been happening for almost 2 years.
The contact owns a 2017 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that the airbag sensor on the passenger’s side of the vehicle failed to determine and classify the weight of the passenger seated in the seat. The contact was concerned that the airbag would not operate as needed in the event of a crash. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V244000 (Power Train). The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.
I bought my QX60 2017 in April of 2021. fine til wk 2 experienced electrical issues liftgate stops going up or down randomly, hesitation in the acceleration when pulling into traffic (quite scary when you almost get rammed). concerns told to dealership stated I needed to change key fob battery. I already had and it was fine. They insisted I cchangeit so I did.. Not the issue. So I made an appt to have concerns checked.. ie transmission hesitation and electrical . I brought it in got a loaner. Many days later it was ready and I could pick it up they could find no issues they fixed nothing but the groan in the gas tank that's it. They said they couldn't duplicate it. So I reiterated to them to make sure that they understood that it was done at random and it's still being done at random months later. So I brought the car home and I've just been dealing with it not knowing what else to do cuz if they don't take the car and actually drive it like it's their own they probably won't experience it just driving around the parking lot. And even though they had it a week and could have done that I guess they didn't. Well then back in the end of August beginning of September my car wouldn't start I had to put the key fob next to the button in order to start it which I didn't figure out till later lots of electrical things were happening at that point added to what I already had so I brought it to them and they said it was the battery it was under warranty so they changed and explain that that should take care of all of my issues and if not bring it back in. So I've made another appointment for today and I'm bringing it back in because the hesitation is still there there's more electrical issues there's always been a Bluetooth electrical issue there's now rear camera, volume sometimes work sometimes blows your ears out, vibration in engine compartment, unlock door open door it sounds unlocking again repeatedly repeatedly and liftgate still
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED. TEMPERATURE IN THE 50'S AND UNLIKELY THAT ANYTHING HIT IT TO CAUSE THIS. PEOPLE ONLINE REPORTING THE SAME THING. SOUNDS LIKE A GUNSHOT AND COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 INFINITI QX60. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WAS GETTING EXCESSIVE SMOG FROM THE EXHAUST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER AUSTIN INFINITI (8140 BURNET RD, AUSTIN, TX 78757 (512) 220-0920) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION CAUSED VEHICLE TO EXCEED POSTED SPEED LIMIT AND DRIVER'S DESIRED SPEED. ON A CITY STREET AT APPROX 7PM I WAS INCREASING SPEED AFTER SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, I SLOWLY STARTED TO ACCELERATE, I FELT A JOLT & VEHICLE SUDDENLY PICKED UP SPEED. NOT KNOWING WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING I REPEATEDLY PUSHED THE CANCEL BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL & PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL. VEHICLE CONTINUED TO PICK-UP SPEED WHEN I STOPPED PUSHING BRAKE PEDAL. I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP & VEHICLE WENT TO PICKING UP QUICK SPEED WITHOUT ME PUSHING ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I PULLED INTO VACANT PARKING LOT, PUT VEHICLE IN PARK, REMOVED MY FOOT FROM BRAKE PEDAL & VEHICLE ACCELERATED HIGH (RPMS) BY ITSELF FOR A FEW SECONDS & STOPPED (WENT TO NORMAL IDLING). I TURNED VEHICLE OFF, RESTARTED & THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY AFTERWARDS. I HAVE REVIEWED OWNERS MANUAL & CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT I MAY HAVE DONE TO CAUSE THE UNEXPECTED VEHICLE ACCELERATION THAT PUSHING THE CANCEL BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND/OR PUSHING THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULDN'T TURN OFF. I WAS NOT ATTEMPTING TO USE SPEED CONTROL FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE. STANDARD DRIVING. I BELIEVE IT WAS A VEHICLE MALFUNCTION AND NOT DRIVER ACTION THAT CREATED THIS UNSAFE SITUATION. THANKFULLY SURROUNDING TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT ON WHAT IS TYPICALLY A BUSY STREET.
MY CAR INFINITI QX60 2017 THE HORN STARTED TO HONK WITH NO REASON IT WOULDN'T STOP HONKING 1ST TIME, 2ND TIME IT HAPPENED IT WAS COMING SMOG FROM THE HORNS AND NOW THE HORN WON'T WORK CHANGED THE HORN FUSE AND IT WILL BURN IT EVERY TIME SO IT HAS A SHORTCUT SOMEWHERE SO NOW WE HAVE A CAR WITH NO HORN UNTIL IS FIXED!
ABS LIGHT GOES ON ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK AND STAYS ON UNTIL CAR IS TURNED OFF. MY CAR ISN'T LISTED UNDER RECALL WITH MY VIN NUMBER. IT IS WITHIN THE MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR SAME AD THE OTHER CARS THAT ARE RECALLED FOR ABS LIGHT.
I WAS DRIVING ON I-95 NORTH IN MARRYLAND WHEN E.S.C(ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL)LIGHT CAME ON.I STOPPED AT MARRYLAND HOUSE TRAVEL PLAZA AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE ,SHIFTED TO DRIVE BUT CAR DIDNOT AND "CHECK ENGINE"LIGHT ALSO CAME.EVENTUALLY I BOUGHT MASS AIR SENSOR FROM DEALER AND INSTALLED IT
I ACCELERATED THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN WHILE MERGING TO THE CARPOOL LANE ON HIGHWAY; I TOOK THE FOOT PRESSURE OFF AFTER MERGING THE LANE BUT CAR WAS KEPT ON ACCELERATING. I HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKE SEVERAL TIME DURING 15-20 SECONDS OF THIS EXPERIENCE TO BRING THE HIGH ACCELERATION DOWN TO NORMAL. I TOOK IT TO ONTARIO CALIFORNIA INFINITI DEALERSHIP ON AUG 8, 2020 AND LEFT THE VEHICLE THERE FOR THOROUGH CHECKUP. I RECEIVED A CALL ON AUG 10, 2020 FROM DEALERSHIP SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE.
CAR WAS RUNNING WELL AND DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES THEN WENT TO START AND CAR WOULD NOT START, HEADLIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING, WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND CAR WOULDN'T START. WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO START AND DRIVE HOME BUT POWER STEERING WENT OUT, COULD NOT ACCELERATE ON A HWY, LIGHTS CONTINUED TO FLICKER. WAS NOT SWITCHING GEARS. ONCE WE GOT HOME TURNED THE CAR OFF AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO START IT SINCE. WE HAD IT TOWED TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG AND IT'S BEEN THERE FOR OVER THREE WEEKS. NISSAN IS SAYING WE NEED A NEW $14,0000 ENGINE. THIS IS A THREE YEAR OLD CAR WITH NO PROBLEMS, NO INDICATION OF ANY ISSUES AND ONE DAY IT JUST STOPS DRIVING. HAVE RESEARCHED THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL AND HAVE HEARD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. INFINITI HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND SAYS IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT. DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED DUE TO THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE,
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 INFINITI QX60. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED FOR APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WHICH WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (NATIONWIDE INFINITI OF TIMONIUM 22 W TIMONIUM RD, LUTHERVILLE-TIMONIUM, MD 21093) WHERE THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LOANER. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V807000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000. MY CAR HAS HAD ISSUES FROM THE DAY I GOT IT WHICH HAVE GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND NOW I DON'T FEEL SAFE AND I'M RELUCTANT TO DRIVE IT LET ALONE MAKE THE PAYMENT FOR IT AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES EXPLAINING THE ISSUE AND LIGHTS THAT COME IN. I HAVE HAD BAD SMELL COMING FROM IT AND AFTER THE THIRD TIME TODAY BEING AT DEALE AND GETTING A LOANER CAR THAT IS NOT EVEN SEMI COMPARABLE TO MY CAR AS I HAVE AN INFINITY QX 60 AND THEY HAVE GIVEN ME A TINY TINY Q30 OR QX AND REFUSED TO GIVE ME A CAR MY SIZE WHICH IS ANOTHER STORY . MY CAR AFTER GETTING IT TONIGHT FROM DEALER AND THEN TELLING ME RECALL WAS FIXED STALLED ON THE FREEWAY AND CAME TO A DROP AS THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS INCHES AWAY FROM SLAMMING INTO ME. AFTER STARTING AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE IT DRIVE AGAIN AND PRIOR TO GETTING HOME AS I LIVE ON A HILL IT STALLED AND WOULDN'T START. THIS HAPPENS REPEATEDLY AND THE DEALER IS TELLING ME NO CODES COME UP WHEN J BRING JT IN. IT BARELY DRIVES AND HAS NO SPEED AND CLEARLY IT'S A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND J HAVE A FOUR AND SIX YEAR OLD IN THIS CAR AND INFINITY CAN'T FIX THESE PROBLEMATIC CARS THEN I SUGGEST PUTTING YOUR CUSTOMERS IN A DIFFERENT CAR. I WON'T DRIVE WITH A STRING ODOR, ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND STALLING ONE MORE DAY AND FIGURE IT OUT CUS I'M LOSING WORK AND CLIENTS AND THIS IS NOW DIGGING INTO MY POCKET BOOK AND IT'S PUTTING MYSELF AND TODDLERS IN A COMPROMISING SAFETY SITUATION. I WAS INFORMED RECALL WAS FIXED WHEN I GOT IT TODAY AND RHIS WEBSITE WOUID HAVE BEEN UPDATED IF THAT WAS TRUE I'M FURIOUS AND MY MECHANIC HAS INFORMED ME OF WHAT THESE ISSUES ARE AND HE HAS GIVEN ME CODES THET INFINITY REFUSES TO ADDRESS SINCE THE LIGHTS ARE NOT ON THE ONE TIME THEY TURNED FAR IN. WHAT KIND OF MECHANICS CAN'T FIGURE A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE ENGINE ? I NEED RESOLUTION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR MY PAYMENT AS I AM ENTITLED TO DRIVE IN A SAFE CAR
ON 2/18/2020 I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE IN A SNOWY WEATHER AND MY BRAKES FAILED TO STOP MY VEHICLE AND ENDED UP SLIDING DOWN THE CARB AND HIT A PARKED VEHICLE. I HAVE A RECALL FOR ABS. MY TRANSFER CASE UNDER THE HOOD WAS LEAKING AND MAKING A WEIRD LOUD NOICE. WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP RIGHT BEFORE THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED BUT THEY ASKED ME TO COME BACK ON MONDAY.
SEATBELT STRAP IS FRAYING / TEARING ON 3 SEATBELTS AND ONE OF THEM HAS COMPLETELY TORN. THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT CLAMP WON'T DISENGAGE PREVENTING IT FROM BEING SIZED. INFINITI HAS DENIED MY WARRANTY CLAIM AND STATED THAT I SOMEHOW DAMAGED IT. I THINK IT IS A QUALITY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE HONORED AS A WARRANTY ITEM.
WE WERE HIT IN A REAR-END COLLISION, AND THE PERSON HITTING US WAS TRAVELING AT 60-65 MPH. WE WERE AT A STOP, IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY UPON IMPACT. BOTH OF THE FRONT SEATS WE WERE SITTING IN, COLLAPSED BACKWARDS UPON IMPACT. FROM WHAT WE'VE RESEARCHED, IF WE HAD A BACK SEAT PASSENGER, IT WOULD HAVE CRUSHED THEM, OR WE COULD HAVE SLIPPED OUT OF OUR SEAT BELTS. OUR RESEARCH ALSO INDICATES THAT AN INEXPENSIVE FIX MIGHT AVOID THE ISSUE FOR FUTURE PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCE A REAR END COLLISION. THE INFINITI PERFORMED WELL WITH AIRBAGS, AND CRUMPLE ZONES... SAVED OUR LIVES, HOWEVER, THIS SEAT PROBLEM COULD ULTIMATELY PROVE TO BE A FUTURE PROBLEM.
SINCE I LEASED THE VEHICLE I HAVE HAD TO RETURN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES STARTING AT JUST OVER 5,000 MILES. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR REPAIRS FOR A TOTAL OF 9 CALENDAR DAYS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE ON MY VEHICLE IS 22,160. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN CIRCLE INFINITI LOCATED IN WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ ON THE FOLLOWING DATES FOR REPAIR FOR THE FOLLOWING DEFECT: 01/30/2018 - 01/31/2018 VEHICLE LOW ON POWER WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC SEEMS AS THOUGH IT IS GOING TO STALL 04/11/2018 - 04/13/2018 WHEN TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC VEHICLE IS LAGGING. WHEN HITTING THE GAS PEDAL NOTHING HAPPENS. NEARLY HAD SEVERAL COLLISIONS BECAUSE OF THIS. VEHICLE WILL REV HIGH BUT NOT ACCELERATE. HAPPENING MORE OFTEN. 09/13/2018 - 09/13/2018 STILL FEELING HESITATION ON ACCELERATION 11/26/2018 - 11/27/2018 THERE IS STILL A HESITATION ON ACCELERATION. ADVISED OF PROBLEM MANY TIMES 04/03/2019 - 04/03/2019 CUSTOMER CONCERN; SAME ISSUE MY VEHICLE IS STILL HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE OF NOT ACCELERATING PROPERLY WHEN HITTING THE GAS PEDAL. ON JUNE 11, 2019, THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ALMOST CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO BE HIT IN THE REAR BY A TRUCK BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. I HAD TO QUICKLY RIDE INTO THE SHOULDER TO AVOID BEING STRUCK FROM BEHIND. SUBSEQUENTLY, I HAD TO RETURN THE VEHICLE AGAIN YESTERDAY TO CIRCLE INFINITI DUE TO THIS SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. SINCE THIS PROBLEM SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRS THE USE, VALUE AND/OR SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE, OR THE DEFECT IS ONE THAT IS LIKELY TO CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS BODILY INJURY IF THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN.
