AT 77600 MILES THE CAR HAS HAD ALL THE BUSHINGS AND BALL JOINTS IN THE FRONT STEERING TO A POINT THAT IT'S SWAYING SO MUCH IT'S CHALLENGING TO STAY IN THE LANE WHEN ENCOUNTERING ANY IMPERFECTION ON THE ROAD. EXPERIENCING LOUD CLICKING AND CLUNKS AND FEAR THAT IF THIS DEVELOPS ANY FURTHER THE WHEELS WILL FALL OFF. THIS VIN IS APPARENTLY NOT INCLUDED IN THIS WELL KNOWN PROBLEM SO WOULD BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL. WITH THE VEHICLE L LIFTED I CAN EASILY MOVE THE CONTROL ARM ABOUT HALF AN INCH. THIS WILL CAUSE THE BOLT TO BREAK OFF VERY SOON WITH HOW QUICKLY IT HAS DETERIORATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JAGUAR S-TYPE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VEER TO THE RIGHT ON ITS OWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO KEEP THE STEERING WHEEL STRAIGHT AND DROVE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN AND THE MECHANIC FOUND THAT THE BALL JOINTS WERE FRACTURED AND DEEMED THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. JAGUAR RALEIGH (4001 CAPITAL HILLS DR, RALEIGH, NC 27616, (919) 746-8675) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 00V359002 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JAGUAR S-TYPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL POPPING SOUND. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S WHEEL COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BALL JOINTS LOOSENED, MALFUNCTIONED, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 177,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT, DRIVER SIDE AND REAR BEARINGS, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,030.

A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
MY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS PURCHASED FOR AN AC REPAIR IN SEPTEMBER. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT BOTH FRONT CONTROL ARMS AND BOTH BALL JOINTS NEEDED REPLACING IMMEDIATELY FOR $3,000! I WENT HOME AND CHECKED ONLINE TO FIND THAT MY CAR HAD A RECALL ISSUED (RECALL #6434) FOR THE EXACT ITEMS I WAS NOW BEING TOLD TO REPLACE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND NEVER RECEIVED ANY CORRESPONDENCE REGARDING THIS RECALL AND I STILL RESIDE AT THE SAME ADDRESS. I'VE ASKED BOTH THE DEALER AND JAGUAR TO PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THE RECALL BUT THEY ARE STALLING; I AM NOW WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY IN MY AUTOMOBILE. THE FACTS ARE THAT 38,681 OF THEIR AUTOS WERE AFFECTED BUT ONLY A FEW WERE REPAIRED-- [XXX] AT JAGUAR 800-452-4827 IS PROPOSING $659 TO APPLY TO THE $3,000 I WOULD OWE. I HAVE SENT TWO ADDITIONAL E-MAILS ASKING TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. AS OF TODAY, I HAVE NOT BEEN CALLED, NOR HAS THERE BEEN ANY REPLY TO MY 2 E-MAILS ASKING WHY THEY WON'T REPAIR MY CAR. UNUSUAL NOISE WAS COMING FROM FRONT SUSPENSION AND STEERING WAS LIKE LOOSE, I WAS GOING 40MPH ON 2 WAY ROAD THAN I HIT ROAD BUMP AND CAR JUST WENT TO LEFT BY SELF AND I ALMOST HIT THE CAR COMING FROM OPPOSITE WAY. BACK IN DECEMBER 2013 I TOOK CAR TO SHOP TO GET ALIGNMENT DONE AND THE TECH TOLD ME THERE IS SOMETHING LOOSE ON SUSPENSION AND HE HAVE TO CHARGE ME 125 DOLLARS EXTRA TO GET ALIGNMENT DONE. AFTER THAT CAR WAS FINE FOR DRIVING THAN THE NOISE COMES BACK AGAIN.THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. AIRBAG HARNESS ON 2001 S-TYPE JAGUAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED BUT LIGHT ON DASH KEEPS COMING ON AFTER REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE WHEN REPAIR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE REPAIRED TWICE, FIRST TIME THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON 3 MONTHS AFTER REPAIR; SECOND TIME AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON 13 MONTHS AFTER REPAIR. INTERMITTENT BEEPS STARTED 6 MONTHS AFTER REPAIR BUT NO LIGHT ON THE DASH APPEARED. I NOTICED THE BEEPS I HEARD BEFORE THE AIRBAG ICON LIT UP ON MY DASH KEEPS TIMING WITH THE FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT I NOW SEE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JAGUAR S TYPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BECAME RESISTANT TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT BEGAN TAPPING THE SHIFTER AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE ODOR OF GASOLINE WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL FILTER AND FUEL PUMP WERE FAULTY, AND BOTH WERE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, AN ABNORMAL BANGING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND THE SEAT BELT MALFUNCTIONED AND BECAME UNSECURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. WHO REPLACED THE FRONT BALL JOINTS BUT THE SEAT BELT FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
MY WIFE WAS NEARLY IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN SHE LOST CONTROL OF HER 2001 JAGUAR S-TYPE TODAY. WHILE DRIVING SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE COME FROM THE FRONT AND THE LEFT DRIVE SIDE FRONT TIRE SHEERED OFF. THE STATE TROOPER TOLD HER THAT BALL JOINT ATTACHED TO THE WHEEL ASSEMBLY HAD COME LOOSE AND AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. WHEN WE GOT HOME WE FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE WITH A VIN PRIOR TO L92349. *TR

THE DRIVER FRONT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STABILIZER LINK, RIGHT LOWER BALL JOINT, FRONT WHEEL LINER AND LOWER CONTROL ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE HAD BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,330.

MAKING A LEFT TURN IN A JAGUAR 2001 S TYPE, THE STEERING WHEEL LOST ALL POWER AND CRASHED INTO THE MEDIAN. BOUNCED OFF THE MEDIAN INTO THE STREET AND CRASHED INTO A PASSING VEHICLE. *TR
JAGUAR S TYPE 2001,WHEN IT WAS ASSEMBLED, THEY USE PLASTIC TIMING TANSIONER WITH A MATAL CHAIN WHICH CAUSE TO WORNOUT FAST AND LOCK THE ENGINE.
I PURCHASED A 2001 JAGUAR S-TYPE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. IT HAS LESS THAN 70000 MILES ON IT AND WHILE I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE MOTOR STARTS REVVING UP AND IT WON'T SHIFT....IT SAYS GEARBOX FAULT. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THIS MODEL OF CAR. I WAS PULLING OUT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND WAS NEARLY HIT BECAUSE SUDDENLY THE CAR WOULDN'T GO. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE TO FORCE A RECALL? I PURCHASED THIS CAR BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A SAFE DEPENDABLE CAR. VERY POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP! *TR

DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE THE MECHANIC CONCLUDED THAT THE NUT OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER CONTROL ARM FRACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED IN REFERENCE TO RECALL# 00V359002 (SUSPENSION: FRONT: CONTROL ARM: LOWER BALL JOINT); HOWEVER, A REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT SINCE HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL, HE WAS INELIGIBLE FOR A FREE REMEDY. HE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

FUEL ALSO BEGAN LEAKING SINCE THE SEAL ON THE FUEL LINE WAS INOPERABLE. HE ALSO SMELLED A STRONG FUEL ODOR. RECALLS (06E043000, 06E056000, & 00V359002) ARE RELATED TO THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JAGUAR S-TYPE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. THE DRIVER TRAVELED OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND HEARD A LOUD RATTLING NOISE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V359002, SUSPENSION FRONT CONTROL ARM, LOWER BALL JOINT IS RELATED TO THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. IN ADDITION, THE AUTOMATED WINDOW REGULATORS WERE REPLACED ON THE FRONT DRIVER, PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISKS INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

FOR OVER TWO WEEKS I AM BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE LOWER FRONT CONTROL ARM PASSENGER SIDE, THEN AFTER WELL AND DRIVING ALMOST I HAD A BAD ACCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE ADVISE ME TO REPLACE THE LOWER FRONT CONTROL ARM AND THE BALL JOINT CAUSE IT WAS LOOSING. THEN WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO GO TO FIX IT THE BALL JOINT CRASH AND THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CAME APART THE TIRE WENT 90 DEGREES OUT AND THAT HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH TRAFFIC DRIVING FAST. I COULD HAVE A BAD WRECK OR AN INJURY. I CALLED THE POLICE TO HELP ME OUT WITH THE TRAFFIC AND A TOW TRUCK TO PICK MY CAR. DRIVING THIS CAR IS BEING EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR ME. NOW I DON'T HAVE A CAR TO DRIVE AND I EXPECT THE JAGUAR BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ISSUE SINCE IT WAS A RECALL FOR THIS MODEL 2001 JAGUAR STYPE . *TR
RECENTLY (10/16/08) PURCHASED A 2001 S-TYPE 4.0 WITH 74316 MI. 2ND DAY I HAD IT TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. WITHIN 1 WEEK HAD TO BE REBUILT. ALL COILS REPLACED AND #4 & #5 KEEP GOING BAD. DEALERSHIP STATED COILS WERE BROKEN. SENT HOME WITH BROKEN COILS. WINDOW REGULATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON DEALERSHIP STATED NO PROBLEM. POOR SERVICE, POOR QUALITY. *TR

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE STEERING COLUMN BEGAN TO JERK EXCESSIVELY AND THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE FRONT BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V359002 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT). ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES WERE IDENTICAL, THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 120,000.
JAGUAR 2001 S-TYPE HAD A SEVERE STEERING PROBLEM IN OCTOBER 2008. I TOOK IT TO AN ALIGNMENT SPECIALIST WHO CONCLUDED THAT IT COULD NOT BE SAFELY DRIVEN AT ALL, UNTIL THE FRONT LOWER STEERING ARM,SWAY BAR LINK, STEERING KNUCKLE AND TIE ROD WERE REPLACED. IN NOVEMBER 2000, SHORTLY AFTER MANUFACTURE, JAGUAR RECALLED ALL VINS OF THIS MODEL AND YEAR FROM L00001 TO L92349. MY VEHICLE HAS A VIN OUTSIDE THIS RANGE, SO WAS NOT PART OF RECALL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 JAGUAR S-TYPE. THE CONTACT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2008. LATER THAT SAME DAY, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT, BUT THE VEHICLE TURNED IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE BEGAN SWAYING LEFT TO RIGHT AND SHE LOST ALL CONTROL. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A MEDIAN AND STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED, BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES. AFTER THE CRASH, THE CONTACT DROVE APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH UNTIL SHE REACHED HER RESIDENCE. SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE TIRES WERE BALD AND THE WIRING PROTRUDED. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND THEY BOTH STATED THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE DEFECTIVE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ADVISED HER TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V359002 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,742 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.

2001 JAGUAR S-TYPE V-6. I RECEIVE AN ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE MESSAGE ON DASH. THE CAR HESITATES AND MAY STALL WHILE DRIVING. COMPUTER SAYS IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY HOUSING TO THROTTLE PEDAL UNIT (WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED.) THIS OCCURS PRIMARILY IN THE MORNING WHEN I FIRST START DRIVING AND IT WILL STAY IN THIS MODE FROM 5 TO 10 MINUTES THEN GO TO NORMAL DRIVING MODE. THE LAST TIME IT STAYED IN THE FAILSAFE MODE FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. TWO MECHANICS "THINK IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL BUT THEY CANNOT SAY FOR SURE BUT IN THEIR OPINION THIS IS A PART THAT FAILS ON MANY JAGS. THE FAILURE IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE SINCE YOU DO NOT KNOW WHEN IT CAN HAPPEN. AT SOME STOP LIGHTS IT WILL JUST DIE IN MID-TURNING OF A CORNER. AFTER REPLACING THE THROTTLE PEDAL WHICH WAS ONE OF THE POSSIBLE PARTS PROBLEMS, IT RETURNED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AFTER ABOUT A WEEK. I CANNOT GET ANY INFORMATION FROM JAGUAR TO SEE IF THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR JAGUARS. THE ONLY REAL INFORMATION IS ON BLOGS AND CHAT ROOMS ON JAG REPAIRS. THIS HAS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW THAT OWNERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BEAR THE BURDEN OF BUYING A $ 2000 PART, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS BEING IGNORED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
LOWER BALL JOINT FAILED ON 2001 S-TYPE 4.0 AND THE DEALER JUST STATES THE VIN IS NOT IN THE RECALL, BUT THE ISSUE IS THE SAME AS THE RECALL. THIS REPAIR COST IS EXTREMELY RIDICULOUS AND JAGUAR SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM FOR FREE. THIS ISSUE CAN CAUSE YOUR CAR TO LOSE CONTROL AND CAN KILL SOMEONE. I HAVE TO DRIVE MY KIDS EACH DAY IN THIS CAR TO SCHOOL, ETC. I JUST PAID $1,140 TO REPLACE AC HOSES AND NOW THIS. THIS IS A LEMON. I EXPECT JAGUAR TO FOR ONCE STEP UP HERE AND FIX THIS ISSUE, REGARDLESS OF THE VIN NUMBER. THE CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL. LOOK AT THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS BOARD ALONG. THE TRANSMISSION IS CURRENTLY SLIPPING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS CAME ON AND STAYED ON. AS OF JULY 31, 2008, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 139,000.

THE BOLT WAS SO LOOSE THAT THE ALIGNMENT FAILED WHEN THE VEHICLE DROVE OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V359002 (SUSPENSION:FRONT: CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT FRONT END) DID NOT APPLY TO HIS VIN. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.

IN SEARCHING THE INTERNET, I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER S-TYPE OWNERS WHO HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS ON THIS MASSIVE SCALE. I AM AN ATTORNEY, AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PRODUCT DEFECT SUCH THAT A RECALL SHOULD OCCUR OR, AT A MINIMUM, JAGUAR SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. HE WAS DRIVING 35 MPH AT THE TIME OF FAILURE. HE HAD TO PUSH THE VEHICLE OFF THE TRACKS. THE SECOND FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAUSE OF FAILURE AS THE TRANSMISSION. THE REPLACEMENT WILL COST $5,000. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,627 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,400.
THE BALL JOINT ATTACHING NUT WILL NOT STAY TIGHTENED DAMAGING THE LOWER BALL JOINTS FORCING THE CAR TO GO OFF THE ROAD. I WAS LUCKY NOTHING AND ANYONE WAS INJURED. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM (00V359002) IT DIDN'T COVER ALL THE CARS AFFECTED. *JB

I JUST HEARD THAT A RECALL EXISTS ON THE SUSPENSION, BALL JOINTS, ETC.THIS IS WEIRD, SINCE I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK TO THE SHOP @ LEAST 5 TIMES, AND NONE OF THIS WAS FIXED. PEOPLE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I HAVE FILED A CONSUMER COMPLAINT. HOPEFULLY, JAGUAR WILL CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT. MY CAR IS UNDRIVEABLE AT THIS TIME. *JB
MY DRIVEWAY HAS A VERY SLIGHT INCLINE. WHEN PARKED ON THE INCLINE I WAS UNABLE TO GET MY CAR OUT OF PARK UNLESS I USED FORCE. IN 2004 THE GEAR STARTED STICKING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CABLE GEAR ASSEMBLY. IN JULY 2006 I HAD THE CAR IN DRIVE BUT IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. I HAD TO HOLD THE GEAR IN DRIVE IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE CAR. I DROVE IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALER WHERE I HAD THE GEAR ASSEMBLY REPLACED AGAIN! IT WASN'T UNTIL THE SECOND GEAR ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT THAT JAGUAR INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR CAME WITH SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS...IF PARKED ON AN INCLINE (SLIGHT OR OTHERWISE) I NEEDED TO ENGAGE THE HAND BRAKE FIRST BEFORE PLACING THE CAR IN PARK. ON AUGUST 3, 2006 THE LEVER GEAR SHIFT WENT OUT AND WAS REPLACED. SO FAR, I'VE SPENT APPROXIMATELY $900 ON ISSUES RELATED TO THE GEAR ASSEMBLY. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE I-45, THE FRONT LEFT TIRE ON THE JAGUAR S-TYPE DEFLATED, FORCING THE CONTACT TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE TIRE DEALER TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES. WHEN THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE THE LUG NUT FROM THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE, THE LUG NUT SEPARATED FROM THE SELF CENTERING NIPPLE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE TIRE. THE OTHER 3 OLD TIRES WERE PUT BACK ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. AS THE MECHANIC ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE ANOTHER TIRE, TWO LUG NUTS SEPARATED IN THE SAME WHEEL. TO REMOVE THE NIPPLE, THE MECHANIC HAD TO CREATE A GROOVE INTO THE BACK OF THE NIPPLE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE MAXIMUM TORQUE FOR THE LUG NUTS SHOULD BE 72 FOOT POUNDS AND ALL OF THEM WERE OVER-TIGHTENED BY THE ORIGINAL DEALER. THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AND INSTALLED AND LUBRICATED NEW LUG NUTS. THE CONTACT RETURNED TO THE TIRE DEALER AND 4 NEW TIRES INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE.*AK

I WAS DRIVING AND CAR SLOWED DOWN ON FREEWAY AND I WAS ALMOST HIT, I PULLED OVER AND IT STOPPED AND DID IT AGAIN AND I HAD TO PUSH THE TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON, ALMOST COST ME MY LIFE! IT NOW HAPPENS WHEN I HIT A BUMP. WHEN I TURN THE CAR MAKES A EXTREMELY LOUD NOISE, (EMBARRASSING) I WAS TOLD IT IS A BALL JOINT AND CAN CATCH ON FIRE. ENGINE LIGHT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON AND IS NOW BLINKING AND THE CAR SHAKES AND HESITATES. I HAD TO PAY TO GET THE BRAKES FIXED 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING. RADIO TURNS ON FOR NO REASON AND RUNS BATTERY DOWN. I WAS TOLD I HAVE TWO LEAKS IN MY SHOCKS AND IT IS $1800 EACH. WHEN I BACK UP AND TURN THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES. I CAN'T EVEN USE THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER TO CHARGE MY CELL BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK AND HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. THE REMOTE JUST STOP WORKING AND I WAS CHARGED $100 TO RECONFIGURE.
