WHEN I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT START. THERE WAS A HEAVY FUEL LEAK ONTO THE GROUND, COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THIS OCCURRED ONLY WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED ON. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE JAGUAR DEALER AND REPAIR SHOP. THE REPAIRMAN DISCONNECTED THE FUEL PUMP POWER, PUSHED THE VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP, RAISED THE VEHICLE USING THE HOIST AND INSPECTED THE FUEL LINE. HE FOUND THE FUEL LINE WAS COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED AT THE COUPLER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VEHICLE. THE REPAIRMAN STATED THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE BELLY PAN OR THE FUEL LINE SO HE HAS NO IDEA WHY THIS HAPPENED. *TR
I WOULD LIKE TO START BY SHARING WITH YOU THAT I AM A FATHER, HUSBAND, FRIEND AND ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY THAT I AM PART OF. TODAY, I AM CONTACTING YOU BECAUSE I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT AN ISSUE THAT HAS OCCURRED WITH OUR FAMILY CAR THAT WE PURCHASED ONLY TWO MONTHS AGO. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE I FEEL THAT DRIVING THIS CAR PRESENTS A HIGH DANGER AND CAN CAUSE A TRAGIC ACCIDENT HARMING NOT JUST ME, BUT MY CHILDREN WHOM I DRIVE TO ANF FROM SCHOOL, MY WIFE AND FRIENDS AND OTHER FELLOW DRIVERS WHO DRIVE ON THE SAME STREETS AND HIGHWAYS I DO. THE DETAILS OF MY CONCERN AND COMPLAIN ARE AS FOLLOWS AND I HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOUR ORGANIZATION INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER UNTIL THE CAUSE OF IT AS WELL AS THE PERMANENT RESOLUTION IS FOUND AND REACHED FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL THE DRIVERS ON THE ROAD - WHO ARE NOT JUST DRIVERS BUT ALSO PARENTS, CHILDREN, SIBLINGS, SPOUSES AND FRIENDS TO THOSE IN THEIR LIVES. IN THE TWO MONTHS I HAVE OWNED A 2005 S TYPE JAGUAR, I HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TWICE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM WHICH THE JAGUAR MECHANICS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE ROOT CAUSE OF. THE ISSUE INVOLVES THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM/PUMP IS FAILING ON THE CAR, HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT CAUSES THE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM TO FAIL. SINCE I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR NOW TWICE IN TWO MONTHS, THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT AGAIN IF THE FUEL SYSTEM FAILS. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED BECAUSE THE DEALER/MANUFACTURER NOW DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE ISSUE AND IDENTIFY AND CORRECT THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WHICH I FOUND OUT THROUGH AN ATTORNEY IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR THESE CARS AND THERE WAS ACTUALLY HAD A RECALL UNDER NHTSA'S CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V418000. *TR
VERY QUICK WEAR DOWN OF REAR BRAKE PADS, ROTORS, AND REAR TIRES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JAGUAR S-TYPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK BETWEEN THE FUEL TANK AND THE FUEL PUMP. AS A RESULT, THE SEAL, RING AND A CLAMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V418000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JAGUAR S TYPE. THE CONTACT SMELLED FUEL FUMES WITHIN THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATING. AFTER ADDING FUEL TO THE VEHICLE IT BEGAN TO SPILL UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND AFTER INSPECTION HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE WAS ALSO INFORMED TWO YEARS PRIOR OF NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 06V418000, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE: STORAGE: TANK ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE RECALL; HOWEVER, THEY ADVISED HIM THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE AGAIN UNDER THE RECALL INSTEAD HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE REPAIRS COST OF $4,200. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED PREVIOUSLY AND THEY WILL NOT REPLACE IT AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
I HAVE HAD MY 2005 JAGUAR S-TYPE SINCE ABOUT 2011. BUT SINCE THEN I HAVE NOTICED THAT EVERY TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK IT LEAKS, WHICH I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS OVER FILL. BUT NOW I REALIZED IT WAS NOT. I TOOK IT TO A AUTO SHOP WHO TOLD ME IT HAS A GAS LEAK FROM THE GAS TANK. HE MENTIONED THAT JAGUARS HAD A RECALL ON THE GAS TANK AND THAT THIS ONE MAY HAVE BEEN DONE WRONG SINCE THE FIX DID NOT WORK AND IT WAS STILL LEAKING. I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO SAID THAT THE GAS TANK WAS REPLACED BY THE RECALL IN 2007 BUT SINCE IT WAS STILL LEAKING I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURE (JAGUAR MOTORS) TO SEE IF THE FIX WAS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL SINCE IT MAY HAVE NOT FIXED THE LEAK. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN NOT SEALED CORRECTLY BUT ONLY JAGUAR MOTORS COULD APPROVE THEM TO RESEAL OR REPLACE THE GAS TANK. I CALLED THEM AND THEY WERE VERY RUDE (TERRENCE) SAYING IT WAS DONE IN 2007 AND THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT ANY MORE. I TOLD TERRENCE THE RECALL DIDN'T WORK AND THE CAR IS STILL DANGEROUS. HE SAID JAGUAR REPLACED THE TANK AND THAT IS ALL THEY HAD TO DO. I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS NOT DONE RIGHT BECAUSE IT WAS STILL LEAKING AND HE SAID IT WAS MY PROBLEM NOT THEIRS. I AM WONDERING HOW DANGEROUS IS THIS CAR AND SHOULDN'T JAGUAR FIX THEIR RECALLS CORRECTLY TO MEET RECALL STANDARDS? I AM ALSO WONDERING WHAT I CAN DO...
MY CAR STARTING LEAKING GASOLINE AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK. I HAVE SPENT THE LAST 8 MONTHS TRYING TO GET JAGUAR TO SUPPLY A RETAINER RING TO MY ORIGINAL FUEL TANK. I KNOW THAT MY FUEL TANK WAS COVERED BY RECALL CAMPAIGN #06V418000. ACCORDING TO JAGUAR THEY SAY THEY ALREADY CHECKED MY TANK FOR LEAKS IN 2007 AND THEN REINSTALLED THE ORIGINAL TANK. I ALSO KNOW THAT SUBSEQUENTLY THE FUEL TANK WAS REDESIGNED AND THE PARTS FOR THE REDESIGNED TANK DO NOT FIT ON THE ORIGINAL DEFECTIVE TANK (THIS INCLUDES THE RETAINER RING). SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE I WOULD LIKE YOUR INPUT ON HOW TO PROCEED TO ENSURE JAGUAR WILL CORRECT THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE WITH THE FUEL TANK LEAK THAT SHOULD BE REPLACED BY THE GOVERNMENT MANDATED RECALL. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS CONFIRMED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. NUMBER: 06V418000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY) AND CALLED THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT DUE TO THE VIN NUMBER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JAGUAR S-TYPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN REFILLING THE FUEL TANK, FUEL WOULD DISCHARGE ONTO THE GROUND ONCE THE TANK WAS FULL. IN ADDITION, GASOLINE FUMES WERE ENTERING INTO THE VEHICLE INTERIOR CABIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,467 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
A STRONG SMELL OF GAS IS EVIDENT IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR WHEN DRIVING AND IT'S BEEN GETTING WORSE. AFTER THE GAS TANK IS FILLED, IT GETS TO THE POINT WHERE THE VAPORS ARE MAKING MY FAMILIES EYES WATER AND WE HAVE TO OPEN ALL OF THE WINDOWS/SUNROOF AND IT'S STILL BAD. I HAVE WORKED ON MANY OF MY OWN CARS IN THE PAST AND I CAN TELL YOU -IT'S A GOOD THING I DON'T SMOKE BECAUSE THIS CAR WOULD HAVE EXPLODED. THE VAPORS ARE THAT STRONG AND I'M AMAZED THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF GAS LEAKING OUT OF THE CAR, WHICH WOULD BE EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE. I'VE RESEARCHED MY CAR'S HISTORY TODAY, AS WE JUST GOT OUR CAR REPAIRED AND THE PROBLEM IS WORSE. I FOUND OUT ABOUT RECALL R176 WHICH IS DUE TO DEFECTIVE GAS TANKS AND MINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. BUT JAGUAR(FORD) ONLY REPAIRED MY TANK SEALS DURING THE RECALL. THIS EVIDENTLY DIDN'T WORK AND NOW THIS FAILURE IS PUTTING MY FAMILY IN HARMS WAY. I JUST SPENT MORE THAN $1,000 TRYING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, BEFORE I KNEW THERE WAS A RECALL AS THE DEALER DID NOT INFORM ME THERE WAS A RECALL WHEN I DIRECTLY ASKED WHETHER THE WARPING GAS TANKS (AS HE EXPLAINED) WERE EVER RECALLED. WHY SHOULD ANY CAR'S GAS TANK NEED REPLACING DUE TO WARPING??? I READ MY REPAIR RECEIPT FROM YESTERDAY AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ONLY REPLACED ONE SEAL AND "RE-FIT" THE OTHER. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU REPAIR A CAR, THEY DIDN'T FIX IT. THEY PUT IT BACK TOGETHER WITH THE SAME PARTS ON ONE SIDE. NOW THE GAS TANK HAS BEEN REPAIRED TWICE BY THE DEALER SINCE THE RECALL, I'M OUT MORE THAN $1,000 BECAUSE THE DEALER DIDN'T ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY THAT THEIR FIX DIDN'T WORK AND NOW I'M LEFT DRIVING A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06418000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
AS SEEN AT THE FOLLOWING WEB SITE, HTTP://WWW.JAGUARFORUMS.COM/FORUM/S-TYPE-15/HOW-HEADLIGHT-REPAIR-STYPE-FAQ-10745/, HEADLIGHT LEVELING MECHANISMS ON JAGUAR VEHICLES FAIL AT A HIGH RATE CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO ONLY THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET AROUND THE VEHICLE. AT OVER $1100 EACH, MOST OWNERS OPT TO LIVE WITH THE UNSAFE CONDITION RATHER THAN SPEND THE MONEY. THE SITE SHOWN ABOVE PROVIDES A HOME REMEDY, WHICH MAY NOT BE THE SAFEST RECOMMENDATION. I HAVE CONTACTED JAGUAR NA CUSTOMER RELATIONS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO SWAY THEM TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE LIGHTING MECHANISMS. THE REDUCED LIGHTING GREATLY REDUCES A DRIVERS REACTION TIME TO A AVOID ROAD HAZARDS, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER RATES OF SPEED. BOTH MECHANISMS ARE CURRENTLY BROKEN ON OUR VEHICLE AT LESS THAN 20,000 MILES. *TR
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT TURNS ON, INDICATING THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS OFF, EVEN WHEN AN ADULT PASSENGER IS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JAGUAR S-TYPE. WHILE FUELING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL SPILLED ON THE GROUND AND THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT IT WAS SPILLING FROM THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT REFERENCED RECALL 06V418000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY) BUT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE REPAIR HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,200.
I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERNAL ROAD ~45MPH, NOT ACCELERATING , JUST MAINTAINING SPEED. THE ENGINE BASICALLY SHUT DOWN, AND I HAD TO PULL ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE CAR WAS BARELY MOVING EVEN THOUGH THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR, ENGINE LIGHT ON, AS WELL AS "ENGINE SYSTEMS FAULT, PARKBRAKE FAULT, DSC NOT AVAILABLE" MESSAGE SHOWING UP ON THE DASH. I RESTARTED THE CAR BUT NOW THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER ISSUES MENTIONED BEFORE AND THE CAR BATTERY DRAINED OUT COMPLETELY AND WENT LIMP. I GOT THE CAR JUMP STARTED AND EVEN THEN IT SHOWED A "ABS FAULT". I WAITED FOR 30 MINS WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THEN FINALLY DROVE IT BACK TO MY HOUSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ATLEAST 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 1 MONTH. ONLINE FORUMS SAYS THAT THIS IS A THROTTLE SENSOR ISSUE AND ITS A COMMON ENOUGH PROBLEM THAT JAGUAR NEEDS TO RECALL AND FIX THESE CARS. I AM VERY PERPLEXED THAT A CAR WOULD JUST SHUT DOWN ON THE ROAD, PUT ITSELF INTO "LIMP MODE" AND BE ABSOLUTELY FINE AN HOUR LATER. *TR
I PURCHASED 4 NEW CONTINENTAL TIRES FROM CHESAPEAKE JAGUAR IN COCKEYSVILLE MD. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES SEVERAL SINCE DAY 1. I WAS IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 5 TIMES WITHIN A MONTH. [XXX] TOLD ME NOT COME BACK AND THAT CHESAPEAKE REFUSED TO SERVICE MY CAR. HE ALSO ADVISED THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT PERFECTLY ROUND AND THAT WAS THE REASON FOR THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING. IT'S NOW 11 MONTHS LATER AND I'VE HAD NO RESOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JAGUAR S TYPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IN 2010, SHE PURCHASED FOUR CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT TIRES AS REPLACEMENTS, LINE 245/40/R18. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE CONSTANTLY LOSING AIR PRESSURE AND SHE WOULD HAVE TO PUT AIR IN THE TIRES CONSISTENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER SIX TIMES IN REGARDS TO THE TIRE FAILURE YET THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT HE COULD NOT ASSIST AND THAT SHE SHOULD NOT RETURN AGAIN. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO RETURN TO THE DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. UPDATED 03/24/11*LJ UPDATED 05/02/11
AFTER ENGAGING REVERSE, THE TRANSMISSION FROZE. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM REVERSE AND INTO DRIVE OR ANY OTHER GEAR. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE SHOP. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS "[TRANSMISSION] CABLE SELECTOR BOLTS BACKED OUT." THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AFTER THE INSTALLATION OF NEW SELECTOR CABLE BOLTS. HAD THESE BOLTS COME LOOSE WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET, A SERIOUS CRASH WOULD HAVE OCCURRED. I HAVE JUST READ WHERE OTHER JAGUAR OWNERS HAVE ALSO REPORTED THIS MALFUNCTION TO NHTSA AND DECIDED TO REPORT IT, TOO. *TR
I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE 'ROAD LEVELING HEADLAMPS.' THEY MOTOR DOWN TO SUCH A POSITION THAT I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE THIS VEHICLE SAFELY AFTER DARK. THE HEAD LAMPS ONLY PROJECT A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE MAKING IT VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I TOOK THIS INTO THE DEALERSHIP, WILDE JAGUAR OF SARASOTA, WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE COST TO MAKE THIS REPAIR WOULD BE IN EXCESS OF $3,000.00. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. AT A VERY MINIMUM AUTO MANUFACTURERS SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ENSURE THAT THE MOST BASIC OF SAFETY STANDARDS SUCH AS HEAD LAMPS DON'T COMMONLY FAIL. *TR
I COULD NOT GET THE CAR INTO REVERSE WHEN TRYING TO BACK UP TO TURN AROUND IN A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED ON A FLAT-BED TRUCK BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN ANY GEAR OR START, ONCE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE BOLT HOLDING THE GEAR BOX TO THE TRANSMISSION HAD BECOME STRIPPED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THE GEAR SHIFTER CABLE HAD TO BE "SECURED." *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JAGUAR ST3. WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT, WITH THE HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY BEGAN ACCELERATING. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL TO PREVENT IT FROM MOVING. THE RISK OF A SERIOUS CRASH WAS INCREASED. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE TECHNICIAN FORWARDED THE CASE TO THE OTHER ENGINEERS FOR FURTHER ASSESSMENT. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL, AND THEN THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE . USUALLY SHE HAS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO RESET THE ERROR CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND THE ENGINES SOFTWARE WAS RESET. THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27280. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34300.
WHILE CROSSING THE BETSY ROSS BRIDGE RIGHT REAR TIRE DEFLATED. INSPECTION REVEALED SIDEWALL HAD RUPTURED, REPLACED TIRE. EVENT OCCURRED OCT. 15TH. NO DAMAGE WAS VISIBLE TO THREAD SURFACE. MY WIFE AND I WERE GIVEN A REPLACEMENT JAGUAR S-TYPE ON 05/03/2005 BY SMITH CO. MOTOR CARS OF CHARLESTON, WV. AFTER THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR A JAGUAR X-TYPE THAT WE HAD BOUGHT ON 08/26/2004. WE THEN MOVED TO CALIFORNIA IN 06/2005 AND MY HUSBAND DROVE THE CAR CROSS-COUNTRY TO CA WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. ON 08/05/2005 THE CAR WAS FIRST PRESENTED FOR A SCHEDULED 10,000 MILE MAINTENANCE TO JAGUAR OF SOUTH BAY, 3111 PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY, TORRANCE, CA. SINCE THEN, THE CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THEM FOR MORE THAN 8 (EIGHT) TIMES, WITHOUT SATISFACTORY REPAIR. PROBLEMS INCLUDE: FAULTY GAS TANK LATCH, RHS EXHAUST HANGING LOWER AND SCRAPING PAVEMENT, HARD TRANSMISSION SHIFTS, FAULTY REMOTE TRANSMITTER,JUDDER FROM STEERING WHEEL, KNOCKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE THAT RAN SLUGGISH, REPLACED RACK & PINION SEVERAL TIMES,CAR OUT OF ALIGNMENT,INJECTORS DIRTY,RHS LUG NUT BROKEN BECAUSE OF, ACCORDING TO TECH., NON LUBRICATION AT FACTORY, JERKY GEAR SHIFTING FROM 3RD. WE HAD TOLD THE TECHS. THAT BOTH MY WIFE AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL OVER 5 TIMES AND FINALLY ON 08/07/2006, I AGAIN LOSS TOTAL CONTROL AND THE CAR HIT INTO THE GUARD RAIL AND SCRAPED THE WHOLE OF THE RHS OF THE VEHICLE. MY 2005 JAGUAR 3.0 S WAS PROCEEDING EASTWARD ON A CITY STREET WITHIN THE 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT WHEN IT BECAME NECESSARY TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP TO AVOID A CAR STOPPED IN TRAFFIC LANE. BRAKES FAILED TO OPERATE. BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITH NO SLOWING OF VEHICLE AT ALL CAUSING MY CAR TO HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE.
CONSUMER PLACED GAS INTO THE VEHICLE, DROVE HOME AND NOTICED GAS ON THE GROUND. THE NEXT DAY SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE FILLER CAP. SOME WEEKS LATER CONSUMER DISCOVERED GAS ON THE GROUND AGAIN, AND THE CAP WAS REPAIRED. AFTER SETTING THE CRUISE CONTROL WHILE GOING DOWN AN INCLINE CONSUMER WAS CITED BY A POLICEMAN FOR GOING 100 MPH. CONSUMER LATER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. HE WAS TOLD THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL ONLY WORKED ON LEVEL GROUND NOT ON INCLINES. THE OWNER'S MANUAL SHOULD CONTAIN THIS.*AK....NOTHING IN THE MANUAL INDICATES THAT CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK ON DOWNHILL. THIS PROBLEM CAN CAUSE UNAWARE DRIVER'S SERIOUS ACCIDENTS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING A JAGUAR RENTAL CAR FROM HERTZ WE WERE BROAD SIDED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BY A LIMOUSINE RUNNING A RED LIGHT. THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT PUSHED OUR CAR INTO AN SUV IN THE TURN LANE BEFORE OUR CAR LANDED ON THE MEDIAN. THE CAR WAS TOTALED. THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT APPEARED IN THE PANEL, HOWEVER, NO FRONT OR SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. PASSENGER SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY DUE TO THE ACCIDENT, HITTING THE WINDOW AND DOOR FRAME DURING THE COLLISION. WHY DIDN'T THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY?*AK
I OWE A JAGUAR S-TYPE IT HAS SEVERAL MECHANICAL PROBLEM. I NOTICED THERE IS NO DATA NO WHERE POSTED REGARDING THIS VEHICLE. (NHTSA,IIHS, OR DOT). NO DATA ANYWHERE ON THE JAGUAR S-TYPE. I THINK THAT SHOULD THROW UP SOME RED FLAG AS TO WHY ARE THEY HIDING SOMETHING? (1) ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FAIL TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE, THE MECHANICS STATED THAT THERE WAS A FUSE BLOWN, HOWEVER WHEN THE FUSE WAS REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION. THEY WORK LESS THAN 50 % OF THE TIME NEEDED. (2) I LIVE IN MICHIGAN, ALOT OF SNOW, ICE & RAIN, ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION I WOULD BE DRIVE IN THE SNOW OR RAIN, AND THE WIPERS WOULD JUST STOP OPERATING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. LEAVING ME TOTALLY VISUALLY IMPAIRED. I WOULD HAVE TO TURN ON MY FLASHERS, & PULL OFF THE ROAD, THEN WAIT UNTIL THE RAIN STOPS OR LEAVE THE CAR AND CALL FOR A RIDE HOME. I HAVE LOSS TIME AT WORK BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, ALSO MISSED SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS BECAUSE OF THIS CONTINUE PROBLEM. (3) ONCE THE FUSE WAS REPLACED FOR THE WIPERS, HOWEVER THE LAST THREE TIMES THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME. WHEN CHECKED BY A MECHANICS, NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND WITH THE WIPER OR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, HOWEVER THE WIPERS SEEM TO HAVE A SHORTAGE OF SOME KIND. *NM
