MY DAUGHTER HYDROPLANED AND HIT A VERY LARGE ROCK ( ABOUT 3 FEET IN DIAMETER) GOING APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES AN HOUR. NEITHER OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GEAR WENT INTO REVERSE AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. *JB
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT FRAME BROKE FROM FLOOR MOUNT. *JB
2000 JEEP CHEROKEE WAS IDLING WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING IN PARK, NO EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. EXITED THE VEHICLE AND GOT A FEW ITEMS FROM THE REAR SEATING, THEN ENTERED THE REAR HATCH AREA TO GET A FEW MORE ITEMS OUT. WALKING AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE ABOUT 20 YARDS WHEN I TURNED AROUND THE VEHICLE WAS GONE. IT ENDED UP ACROSS THE STREET IN AN EMBANKMENT. WHEN I OPENED THE DRIVERS DOOR, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN DRIVE. NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME, MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE JEEP. *JB
THE SEAT BELT ON MY 2000 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS COME UNINTENTIONALLY UNLATCHED 2 TIMES WITHIN THE 2 MONTHS I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. ONCE AS I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 25 MPH I WAS FORCED TO SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING A CHILD WHO RAN INTO THE STREET. THE SECOND TIME OCCURRED AS I WAS TRAVELING OVER A ROAD UNDER REPAIR. I HIT A LARGE POTHOLE, BOUNCED AND AS I CAME BACK DOWN, THE SEAT BELT UNBUCKLED. *NLM
THE FRONT ROTORS EXPERIENCED PREMATURE FAILURE, WHICH CAUSED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE JERKED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND STAYED ON THE REMAINDER OF THE TIME VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED. *NLM
THE POWER LOCKS MAKE LOUD NOISE WHEN ACTIVATED. EVENTUALLY THE REAR DOOR LOCK WILL NOT UNLOCK.*JB *TS
THE POWER DOOR LOCKS MADE A LOUD NOISE WHEN ACTIVATED. EVENTUALLY, THE REAR DOORS COULDN'T BE UNLOCKED. *JB
ABOUT A YEAR AGO BOTH OF MY FRONT POWER WINDOWS QUIT WORKING ON MY 2000 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT WITHIN WEEKS OF EACH OTHER. I HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS WITH SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN CHEROKEES AND THEY TOO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF I WERE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT THAT FORCED MY CAR TO BE SUBMERGED IN A BODY OF WATER I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE ENTIRE CABIN FILLED WITH WATER BEFORE I COULD ATTEMPT ANY ESCAPE. MY MOTHER WHO OWNS A NISSAN XTERRA ALSO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT LAST MONTH NISSAN ISSUED A RECALL AND ALL 4 OF HER WINDOWS WERE REPLACED. *NM
VEHICLE HAD MUTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES. THIS HAS CAUSED THE BRAKES TO BE REPLACED THREE TIMES WITHIN THE YEAR, AS WELL AS HAVING THE CALPERS AND ROTORS REPLACED.*AK
I HAVE A 2000 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON NOW. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY I NEED TO PAY FOR A 300.00 CLOCK SPRING PART TO FIX IT. I CHECKED THE COMPUTER AND SEEN NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE JEEP AIRBAGS NOT WORKING. HAS THERE BEEN A RECALL ON THEM? AND IF NOT IF THERE'S BEEN SO MANY CASES OF PROBLEMS WITH THEM NOT WORKING CORRECTLY IS THERE ANYTHING BEING DONE TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER? THANK YOU
I HAVE JUST HAD MY FRONT ROTORS REPLACED TWICE.NOW I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IN ORDER TO RESOLVE A "KNOCKING" NOISE IN THE REAR WHEN BRAKING. I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE MY REAR ROTORS AND REAR AXLES REPLACE. ALSO IT SEEMS AS IF I AM HAVING A FRONT END ALIGNMENT PERFORMED AT LEAST EVERY 3 MONTHS. I AM VERY CONCERNED, BECAUSE THIS 2000 CHEROKEE SPORT IS MY ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION. I AM THE MOTHER OF TWO YOUNG SONS, SO THIS VEHICLE IS CONSTANTLY ON THE GO. WHILE DRIVING, THE LEFT TIRE EXPERIENCED OUTER SIDEWALL DAMAGE, CONSUMER WAS ISSUED A 30.00 DOLLAR CREDIT TOWARD THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT TIRE, HOWEVER CONSUMER IS REQUESTING AN ADDITIONAL CREDIT FOR THE BALANCE OF THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT TIRE IN THE AMOUNT OF 63.23. (COOPER DISCOVER H/T 225/75R15 OWL TIRES).*JB
FOR THE PAST MONTH, I WAS UNABLE TO GET MY HOOD TO OPEN TO GET AN OIL CHANGE. I DECIDED TO TAKE MY CAR TO VAVOLINE TO SEE IF THE MECHANICS THERE COULD OPEN THE HOOD. THEY WERE ALSO UNABLE TO OPEN THE HOOD. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A BODY SHOP, OR THE DEALERSHIP. LATER THAT EVENING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY AT 70 MPH, MY HOOD FLEW OPEN. I WAS UNABLE TO SEE IN FRONT OF ME. NO ONE WAS INJURED AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. VERY DISTURBED BY THIS INCIDENT, I RESEARCHED AND DISCOVERED THAT DODGE RAMS HAD A RECALL FOR CORROSION OF THE RETURN SPRING ON THE HOOD SECONDARY LATCH THAT COULD CAUSE THE MECHANISM TO BIND IN THE RELEASE POSITION AND THE HOOD COULD OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY. I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED DAIMLER CHRYLSER REGARDING THE INCIDENT. DT
WHEN THE AUTOMATIC SEAT BELT RETRACTED BACK INTO POSITION, IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR THE CONSUMER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS EXIT. TS *TT *JB

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. FIRE DEVELOPED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT PRIOR TO RECEIPT OF RECALL 02V-104. *TT
THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE BECAUSE OF NEGLECT TO REPAIR A RECALL REGARDING A DEBRIS SHIELD INSTALLATION ON THE ENGINE INTAKE MANIFOLD. *JG PH
TOOK TO DEALER, SAID THAT IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FOR A ROTOR TO BE WARPED AT 17,500 MILES.*AK
AT ABOUT 8,000 MILES WHILE DRIVING DOWN FROM BIG BEAR LAKE, THE CAR EXPERIENCED SEVER FRONT END VIBRATION DURING BRAKING HE CAR WAS RETURNED TO TUTTLE-CLICK WHERE THEY DETERMINED THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. THE ROTORS WERE TURNED UNDER WARRANTY. ABOUT 11 MONTHS LATER WHILE RETURNING FROM MY NEXT TRIP TO BIG BEAR THE PROBLEM RECURRED AT 13,000 MILES. THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO TUTTLE- CLICK AND THE PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED AS WARPED ROTORS. THIS TIME THEY REFUSED TO TURN THE ROTORS EVEN THOUGH THE 3 YEAR / 30,000 MILE WARRANTY WAS IN EFFECT. THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED DESIGN DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED. *AK
VEHICLE WAS ONLY DRIVEN ABOUT 5 MILES AND PARKED WHEN A NEIGHBOR NOTICED FIRE. CONSUMER STATED FIRE WAS UNDER THE HOOD OF VEHICLE. *AK
WHILE MAKING A TURN AT 5 MPH VEHICLE LOST ALL STEERING. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER , BOLTS ON SPACER BY GEARBOX BROKE.*AK
RECALL 02-V-104-000/ MANFACTURER'S RECALL 086 REPAIRS WERE DENIED BY DEALER DUE TO NOT HAVING THE TIME, AND NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. CONSUMER HAD RECALL LETTER TO EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM. SERVICE MANAGER AT THE FRANK PARRA JEEP :800 EASTR AIRPORT FREEWAY; IRVING TX. 75062 PHONE# 972-721-4502.*AK
2000 CHEROKEE SPORT - 20626 MILES. I INITIALLY HAD ISSUES WITH THE STEERING DAMPNER WHICH WAS CAUSING VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END. AFTER THAT WAS FIXED EVERYTHING WAS FINE FOR A FEW MONTHS, THEN THE FRONT END STARTED SHAKING WHEN BRAKING.....WORSE WHEN GOING DOWN HILL. SERVICE SAYS THIS IS NOT NORMAL, BUT IT HAS BEEN SEEN BEFORE. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND SPOKE WITH MATT. EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE IT WAS BEYOND THE 12/12000 WARRANTY FOR BRAKES. DECIDED TO DO A LITTLE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT JEEP HAS HAD SERIOUS ISSUES WITH BRAKES ON THE CHEROKEE FOR YEARS NOW. THERE ARE OCCASSIONAL RE-CALLS, BUT NOT ON THE 2000 CHEROKEE! WHY CAN WE NOT GET HELP FROM FROM THE NHTSA IN FORCING CHRSLER TO RECALL THESE DANGEROUS VEHICLES?*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS. THE MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FUEL PUMP HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPLACED. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 125,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
IN OCT 2000 LIS. A JEEP FROM DAMIOLIER CHYSLER. IN 2002 THE JEEP WAS ALL OVER THE ROAD TOOK TO THIER SHOP THEY CUT THE ROTTERS THE JEEP ONLY HAD 6,000 MILES IN THE YEAR 2003 HDA TO RETURN NOT EVEN A YEAR HAD GONE BY AND THEY RE-CUT THE ROTORS WITH ONLY 12,000 MILE ON THE JEEP[. THIS IS THE YEAR 2005 THE JEEP HAS ONLY 24,000 MILES AND SINCE DEC. 2004 IT STARTED AGAIN. THE PLACE WHERE I GOT THE CAR IS NO LONGER IN NJ NOW IT WILL COST ME 500.00 TO FIX SOMETHING WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIX RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES AND SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM HOOD. THIS WAS DUE TO THE WIRING UNDER THE HOOD CATCHING ON FIRE. DEALER STATED WIRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*AK THE FIRE HAD CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND THE CONSUMERS INSURANCE PAID FOR THE REPAIRS. AFTER A WEEK THE VEHICLE HAD A LOOSE BEARING AND WAS REPLACED. *YH
BRAKE ROTORS WARPED AND WERE REPLACED AT 22,000 MILES AND WARPING HAS REOCCURRED. FRONT END SHAKES WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, AND THERE WAS EXTENDED STOPPPING DISTANCE. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK *YH
VEHICLE AND BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATED WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. *AK
VEHICLE WAS GOING 50-55MPH WHEN HOOD FLEW BACK INTO WINDSHIELD. RELEASE ROD BROKE, AND THE OUTER CLAMPS FAILED, CAUSING SECONDARY HOOD LATCH TO RELEASE AS WELL. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED.*AK
THE VEHICLE SHAKES WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED , IN PARTICULAR GOING DOWNHILL. THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME AT 10,000 MILES. RETURNED VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. THE BRAKES WERE UNDER WARRANTY SO THEY FIXED THEM. NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT.*AK

WHEN APPLYING BRAKES STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY STATED THAT ROTORS WERE WARPED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK

CONSUMER JUMPED INTO VEHICLE AND TURNED IT ON TO STOP IT. $2300.00 WORTH OF DAMAGE.
