The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH with the cruise control activated and going downhill, the vehicle started to accelerate independently. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that he depressed the brake pedal and stopped the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission fluid to be flushed. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the power transfer unit (PTU) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
ENGINE OIL COOLER LEAKING. CAR HAS 69000 MILES AND THE PLASTIC ENGINE OIL COOLER MOUNTED ON THE ENGINE BLOCK IS LEAKING. SEALS ARE BAD BECAUSE OF THE DESIGN OF THE PART. MULTIPLE 2014 CHEROKEES HAVE THIS ISSUE. KNOWN ISSUE FOR LOCAL DEALER. SIGNIFICANT FLUID BUILDUP UNDER THE CAR AND MONTHLY NEED TO REFILL OIL WITH ISSUE.
THE AUGUST 2019 RECALL NOTICE STILL HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT STILL FAILS TO SHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR AT A ROLLING STOP.. AT A ROLLING STOP, IT SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN HESITATES FOR 1 TO 2 SECONDS BEFORE SHIFTING INTO GEAR. THIS HESITATION CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN IN TRAFFIC.
RECALL: "2014-2015 JEEP CHEROKEE VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR CLUSTERS MAY HAVE INSUFFICIENT CRIMPS IN THE TRANSMISSION WIRE HARNESS, AND AS A RESULT, THE TRANSMISSION MAY UNEXPECTEDLY SHIFT TO NEUTRAL." I HAVE A 2014 JEEP, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT MY CAR IS DOING! MY VIN# IS NOT LISTED AS HAVING A RECALL ON IT?? THIS WILL JUST HAPPEN AT ANY MOMENT NO WARNING, IT WILL JERK FORWARD SOMETIMES, THEN OTHERS TIMES, IT JUST COMES OUT OF GEAR AND THE SCREEN SAIDS TO PUT IN PARK THEN BACK TO THE GEAR. KINDA HARD TO DO THAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE OR BUSY HIGHWAY. (I'M GOING TO GET KILLED!) IT SEEMS TO LOOSE POWER/ IT SOUNDS/FEELS LIKE IT'S STUCK IN A LOWER GEAR THAN IT SHOULD BE AT TIMES.
MY DAUGHTERS JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT 2.4L AT 62000 MILES HAS SHUT DOWN WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS STOPPED ENTERING CITY STREETS AND WHEN BRAKING HARD TO AVOID ANOTHER CAR. WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPS AND SUDDENLY ITS STEERING WHEEL GETS HARD TO STEER . THE DASH COMES ON WITH AN ERROR ON SCREEN SAYING, "CAR MUST BE IN PARK IN ORDER TO SHIFT." TURNING THE KEY DOES NOTHING UNTIL WE TRY MULTIPLE TIMES.
TL THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V010000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE PENDING AND UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN WE STARTED TO ACCELERATE THE JEEP JERKED INTO GEAR. WE STARTED TO HEAR A CLANKING NOISE AND SOUNDED LIKE A PART WAS RATTLING. SINCE IT DID NOT SOUND GOOD WE PULLED OVER AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO TOW IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NEAREST TO US. AFTER THE INSPECTION, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US THAT THE PTU ON OUR 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE WAS BUSTED AND THE CAR IS NO LONGER ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. PRIOR TO THIS EVENT WE TOOK THE JEEP INTO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TELLING THEM THAT WHEN WE ACCELERATE IT JERKS INTO GEAR. THEY TOLD US THAT THREE UPDATES NEED TO BE DONE ON THE SOFTWARE OF THE VEHICLE. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE UPDATES HAS TO DO WITH THE COMMUNICATION OF THE TRANSMISSION AND THE PARTS THAT ARE INVOLVED WHEN YOU ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE. AFTER WE COMPLETED THE UPDATES THE JEEP DROVE SMOOTH BUT THEN STARTED JERKING AGAIN SHORTLY AFTER. NOW THE COST OF REPLACING THE PTU IS OVER $2000. WE HAVE READ MULTIPLE FORUMS AND FEEDBACK FROM OTHER 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY CHRYSLER.
WHILE DRIVING HOME MY SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY MESSAGE CENTER, ALL OF MY SHIFTER LIGHT CAME ON IN RED.
MY VEHICLE BETWEEN 50,000 TO 62500 MILES HAVE BEEN SHUTTING DOWN WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS STOPPED ENTERING HIGHWAY AND ON CITY STREETS. WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPS AND SUDDENLY ITS STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND I CANNOT STEER VEHICLE. I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR MYSELF TO GET ALTERNATOR REPLACED, CABIN FILTER, NEW SPARK PLUGS, AND SEVERAL BATTERIES AND PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE 17 MONTHS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED INTO DRIVE, IT LURCHED FORWARD AND THE 4X4 AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH A LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TCM WAS FAULTY. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE FROM A USED DEALERSHIP 'PLATINUM PRE-OWNED' ON THE CARLISLE PIKE IN PENNSYLVANIA. THE GEAR SHIFT NEEDED TO BE SERVICED IT SHIFTED ON ITS OWN ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. ALMOST A YEAR AND A FEW MONTHS LATER I'M RUNNING INTO THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE GEAR SHIFTER. MY VEHICLE NOTIFIED ME TO SERVICE THE GEAR SHIFTER WHILE I WAS DRIVING ONCE IN PARK IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF ITS POSITION. I'M A VERY UPSET AS I HAVE CHILDREN AND THIS WAS JUST REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW PIECE OF EQUIPMENT SO I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. I'VE CHECKED FOR RECALLS WITH MY VIN AND NOTHING HAS COME UP BUT, SO I'M ASSUMING IT IS A MISTAKE.
THE SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT WILL COME ON WHILE DRIVING AND THE LIGHTS AN THE SHIFTER WILL ILLUMINATE . AND THE FIRST TIME I WAS JUST GETTING READY TO TAKE OFF WHEREAS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING .

AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HARR CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (110 GOLD STAR BLVD, WORCESTER, MA 01606) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS WATER DAMAGE TO THE MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
ON 12/19/2019 MY WIFE HAD AN ATTENDANT FILL UP THE GAS TANK AT OUR LOCAL SERVICE STATION, LESS THAN A 1/2 MILE FROM OUR HOUSE! AROUND THE BLOCK FROM OUR HOUSE THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP, THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE, THEN STALLED! THE CAR WOULDN'T START FOR AWHILE! WHEN IT FINALLY DID START, IT WAS STILL SHAKING, BUT BEING SO CLOSE TO HOME, SHE WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME AND IN THE DRIVEWAY.THE SANSONE JEEP SERVICE CENTER CLAIMED THAT WHEN THEY FILLED THE TANK, THEY OVERFILLED IT CAUSING, AND COSTING ME, $839.62 WORTH OF DAMAGE, WHICH THEY DECIDED',, WAS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY! WELL I BEG TO DIFFER! THE ATTENDANT MAY HAVE ROUNDED UP TO THE NEAREST DOLLAR, AS THEY OFTEN DO',, BUT HOW IS THAT ANYTHING OTHER THAN A DESIGN, AND / OR ENGINEERING FAILURE? I THINK IF 30 CENTS OF FUEL ROUNDED UP TO THE NEAREST DOLLAR DOES THAT KIND OF DAMAGE',, THAT IS AN EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AND SHOULD BE RECALLED, AND NOT BECOME THE CONSUMERS LIABILITY! IF SHE JUST PULLED ON TO AN EXPRESSWAY',, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A TRAGEDY! I AM ENCLOSING PHOTOS OF THE WORK ORDER AND RECEIPT',, BECAUSE I'M NOT EVEN SURE WHAT THE ACTUAL DAMAGE AND REPAIR WAS, NOT UNDERSTANDING THEIR JARGON! THANK YOU!
WITHIN TWO MINUTES OF STARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING IT ON THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE WAS STALL MID-TRAFFIC AND BECOME INOPERABLE. THE BATTERY LIGHT THEN COMES ON WITH AN ERROR ON SCREEN WITH SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF, "CAR MUST BE IN PARK IN ORDER TO SHIFT." TURNING THE KEY DOES NOTHING UNTIL 3 MINUTES OF CAUSING A TRAFFIC HAZARD WHEN THE ENGINE FINALLY TURNS OVER. ALSO THE TRANSMISSION HAS ROUGH SHIFTS AT SLOW SPEEDS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY JERK FORWARD AS IF THE GAS WAS AGGRESSIVELY PUSHED DOWN. THIS JERKINESS TO THE TRANSMISSION AND SPEED HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT PARKED VEHICLES WHEN TRYING TO PARK THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT AREA.
I WAS TRAVELING ON ROUTE 18 A 55 MPH ROAD YESTERDAY AND HIT SOME ICE OR CENTER RUMBLE STRIPS IN THE ROAD. MY CAR WENT INTO A LARGE DITCH. THE FRONT END OF MY CAR IS SEVERELY DAMAGED. THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I FIND THIS VERY DISTURBING. DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. HE THEN NOTICED THAT THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE STARTED WITHIN THE DOOR AND WAS BURNING THROUGH THE DOOR PANEL. THE DRIVER PULLED OVER AND THE OCCUPANTS EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND CONTAINED THE FIRE TO JUST THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE AND INHALED A LOT OF SMOKE. A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 18, 2019. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. JOHN GREENE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (910 JAMESTOWN RD, MORGANTON, NC 28655, (828) 584-5337) STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND INFORMED THE CONTACT NOT TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO THEIR FACILITY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD SEND A TEAM TO INVESTIGATE THE FAILURE AND INSPECT THE VEHICLE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. IT IS ON AFTER PUT INTO GEAR AT ALL TIMES. IT DOES NT MATTER THAT THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR MOVING. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH JEEPS ONLINE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. INTERMITTENT JERKY TRANSMISSION SHIFTING, TYPICALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS (<20 MPH). WHEN THIS HAPPENS, OFTEN RESULTS IN TRANSMISSION ERROR THAT STATES VEHICLE MUST BE STOPPED OR PLACED IN PARK. UNTIL STOPPED AND PUT IN PARK, NO ACCELERATION OR ABILITY TO SHIFT OTHERWISE. TYPICALLY HAPPENS AT INTERSECTIONS OR STOP/GO TRAFFIC ... VERY DANGEROUS. WE HAD THE V69 RECALL PERFORMED ... STILL HAPPENED. WE TOOK IT BACK IN AND DEALER REPLACED THE TCM ... STILL HAPPENS. NEED TO RESOLVE BEFORE ALLOWING MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER TO CONTINUE DRIVING VEHICLE.
I WAS GETTING GAS WITH MY BABY IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN I TRIED TO SHIFT INTO PARK THE CAR WAS STUCK. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGES ITSELF. WHEN I LOOKED AROUND AND IN THE BACK I NOTICED WATER IN THE SPARE TIRE WHEEL WELL. I UNDERSTAND THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT TO THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS UNDERNEATH THIS. I FOLLOWED THE WATER TRAIL (IT RAINED THE NIGHT BEFORE) AND SAW A HUGE CRACK IN MY FRAME WHEN THE LIFT GATE WAS UP. WHICH, TO ME IS WHERE THE WATER IS COMING FROM. I GOT IT TO MY DEALERSHIP, SOMEHOW AND IT'S THERE CURRENTLY. I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY, THEY WILL NOT COVER BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE AN ACTION THAT CAUSED THIS PROBLEM (SUCH AS AN ACCIDENT). THEY ADVISED ME THIS IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM.
I WAS GETTING GAS AND WHEN I WENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENABLED, WITH THE LIGHT BLINKING. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO TURN IT OFF, FINALLY IT DISLODGED. WHILE I WAS ATTEMPTING TO DISLODGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, I HAPPENED TO BE AT THE GAS STATION WHERE MY MECHANIC IS, WHO I USE FOR OIL CHANGES AND MINOR MAINTENANCE. HE OPENED MY TRUNK AND NOTICED CRACKS IN THE FRAME, AND THE ENTIRE SPARE TIRE WHEEL WELL WAS FILLED WITH WATER. HE ADVISED ME TO TAKE THE CAR DIRECTLY TO JEEP AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO FIX THIS, IT WAS HIS OPINION THIS WAS A SAFETY MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I TOOK THE CAR TO JEEP, WHO INFORMED ME MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WOULD BE CHARGING ME FOR THIS. I CONTACTED CORPORATE JEEP, WHO UNFORTUNATELY RELIES ON THEIR DEALERSHIPS TO ADVISE THEM. CORPORATE FINALLY TOLD ME THAT AFTER THREE WEEKS OF THE JEEP DEALERSHIP HAVING MY CAR, THEY WOULD NOT BE COVERING THE ISSUE DUE TO A FRONT END ACCIDENT FROM 2015. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE BODY SHOP WHO FIXED THE CAR FROM THAT ACCIDENT AND RECEIVED HIS EXPERT OPINION THAT THIS WAS ALL ORIGINAL, NEVER FIXED AND THERE WAS NO WAY THE ACCIDENT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS. HE REITERATED THAT THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD RECTIFY THIS ISSUE SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GASKET AND THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, IN HIS OPINION, FOR WATER TO ENTER THE SPARE WHEEL WELL AND AFFECT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WILL NOT DISLODGE. JEEP NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY GOING 70 MPH MY CAR STARTED BEEPING AND SAID SERVICE TRANSMISSION. RESTART IN PARK WITH VEHICLE SPEED AT ZERO. ONCE IS GAVE ME THAT MESSAGE IT WAS AS IF MY CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND IT WOULDN'T LET ME SPEED UP OR ANYTHING NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PUSHED ON THE GAS. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE AND MY SPEED KEPT DECREASING AND I ALMOST GOT HIT 3 TIMES TRYING TO GET OVER TO RESTART MY CAR. ONCE I FINALLY GOT OVER I HAD TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN MORE THAN ONCE AND I'M TERRIFIED I'M GOING TO BE IN A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT.

ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGED AND WOULDN'T RELEASE WHEN THE CAR WAS LOCATED AT AN INTERSECTION ON A MAJOR CITY STREET. THE EPB MODULE IS CORRODED WITH WATER DAMAGE. THIS IS LOCATED IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE NEAR THE POWER LIFT GATE. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER LIFT GATE: SAFETY RECALL R27 / NHTSA 15V-393 POWER LIFTGATE MODULE BUT THE RECALL ONLY ADDRESSES THE LIFT GATE MODULE, NOT THE EPB MODULE.
WAS DRIVING JEEP AND IT STOPPED COMPLETE FORWARD MOVEMENT, WOULDN'T REV OR CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE AT ALL. SERVICE TRANSMISSION, ABS, AND TRACTION LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH. TOWED INTO DEALERSHIP AND READ CODES FOR A FAULTY WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AS WELL. READING TONS OF POSTS ON HERE ABOUT PEOPLE GETTING THIS RECALL DONE. THEN A NEW BUG GETS UPDATED TO YOUR SOFTWARE TELLING YOU TO SERVICE SHIFTER. VERY WORRIED THIS WILL HAPPEN TO ME AFTER I GET V69 RECALL DONE MONDAY. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN JUMPY/ROUGH SHIFTING SINCE I BOUGHT IT AT 69,000. HAVE COME TO ACCEPT THE FACT THE 9 SPEED IS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. VERY SAD EXECUTION ON THIS VEHICLES POWER TRAIN COMPONENTS.
THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER LEAKS OIL, CAUSING IT TO POOL ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. FIRE HAZARD! THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR ME, AND A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALS MANY CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES.
AFTER REFUELING, MY WIFE STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUTOFF WITH OUT WARNING. THE SCREEN IN THE CAR SAID TO PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN IN DRIVE. RECENTLY WHILE DRIVING TO A RESTAURANT TO PICK UP SOME DINNER THE PARKING BRAKE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON YELLOW INDICATION CAME ON I WAS JUST DRIVING NORMAL WEATHER NO SNOW NO RAIN SITTING IN LINE AT THE DRIVE-THRU. I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT TO PLACE IT IN PARK AND TO SEE IF I COULD RELEASE THE PARKING BRAKE AS THE PARKING BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHT WAS ON. ONCE I PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WILL NOT RELEASE. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY HOUSE WHICH IS LESS THAN A MILE AWAY CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY JUST KEPT ASKING FOR CODES THERE WAS NO CODES TO BE GIVEN. I HAVE TRIED MANY SOLUTIONS INCLUDING OF DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY PULLING THE FUSES I HAVE PULLED THE BRAKE MODULE FROM THE BACK NOW THAT THERE WAS A LITTLE MOISTURE IN THERE. I TRIED IT OUT AND RIDE IT LET IT SIT A DAY OR TWO. THE BRAKE WILL NOT RELEASE. LOCAL DEALERSHIP WANTS ME TO BRING IT IN FOR AN EXPENSIVE DIAGNOSIS. AFTER JACKING UP THE VEHICLE MYSELF I WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT IT WAS ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE THAT WILL NOT RELEASE.I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IF I JUST ROCKED IT BETWEEN REVERSE AND DRIVE THAT IT WOULD RELEASE. IT DID RELEASE ONCE BUT I LITERALLY HAD TO DRIVE WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ON UNTIL IT DID LET'S NOT DO THAT AGAIN. WHEN GOING TO REFILL THE GAS TANK, THE FUEL PUMP WOULD STOP AFTER VERY LITTLE FUEL HAD BEEN PUMPED INTO THE TANK, AS IF IT WERE VAPOR LOCK. I TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT FUEL PUMPS AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, TO RULE OUT THE PUMP BEING THE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE JEEP INTO THE DEALER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE ARE NO BLOCKAGES, BUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM THE FUEL SPOUT AND THE TANK NEED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER LOOKING INTO THIS ONLINE, I WAS FLOORED TO SEE MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. MY JEEP HAS LESS THAN 80,000 MILES ON IT, AND HAS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND SERVICED CORRECTLY. I COULD NOT FIND ANY RECALLS ON IT BUT I DID SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS UPON SEARCHING ONLINE. SO FAR IT HAS ONLY COME ON DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING SPEEDS.

NEXT TIME, AFTER ANOTHER FILL UP A MONTH LATER, MY CAR STALLED WHEN I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN ABOUT A MILE AFTER FILL UP, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER, AND I CHECKED THE GAS CAP AGAIN TO BE SURE IT WAS TIGHT AND RESTART THE ENGINE, THEN WHILE IN MOTION GOING THRU A TURN AT AN INTERSECTION ABOUT 1/4 OF MILE DOWN THE ROAD, IT TRIED TO STALL AGAIN BUT LUCKILY DIDN'T COMPLETELY SHUT OFF,AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL, AND THE DISPLAY SAID I NEEDED TO PLACE JEEP IN PARK THEN SELECT DRIVE. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND PLACED THE SHIFTER TO NEUTRAL THEN BACK TO DRIVE. I PROCEEDED DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE AGAIN SHIFTED IN TO NEUTRAL AND THE DISPLAY STATED THE SAME, TO PLACE IN PARK THEN SELECT DRIVE. THIS ALL HAPPENED WITHIN TWO MILES AFTER FILLING UP. I DROVE IT ANOTHE 60 MILES OR SO AFTER THIS WITH NO PROBLEMS. HAD NO REAL PROBLEMS BEFORE THIS, OTHER THAN THE SHIFTING LAG EVERYONE HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT. ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED. WHEN I FILL MY GAS TANK ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP MY CAR WILL STALL FOR THE FIRST COUPLE MILES. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE GAS TANK IS FILLED ALL THE WAY. VERY UNSAFE AS POWER STEERING ALSO LOCKS.

VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND I WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP THAT THEY'VE SEEN THIS BEFORE AND CLASSIFIED IT AS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY DESPITE IT BEING A FAILURE OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THAT THERE IS NO WAY THAT I COULD HAVE ACTUALLY DAMAGED THIS PART.

THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE IN DRIVE AND RESULTS IN HARD START WITH ROUGH IDLE. THE VEHICLE SAYS THAT IT IS IN PARK AND NEEDS TO SHIFT INTO GEAR IN ORDER FOR IT TO MOVE.
