FAULTY ENGINE SENSORS CAUSES THE CAR STALL AT ANYTIME. WAS DRIVING WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT MY CAR STALLED AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHT UP ALONG WITH MULTIPLE ERROR MESSAGES. IT TOOK 15 TIMES FOR MY CAR TO RESTART. THIS ISSUE IS A COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND PUTTING THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS AT GREAT RISK. CURRENTLY MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP BUT HAVE READ SIMILAR STORIES ONLINE SAYING THAT THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM IS ASSOCIATED WITH A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. MANY STATED THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE AT CHRYSLER WHICH THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO ACTION THE CONSUMER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND AND ROLLED BACK IN REVERSE. THE CHECK ENGINE AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (PERKINS MOTORS LOCATED AT 1205 MOTOR CITY DR COLORADO SPRINGS, CO 80905) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
CAR WAS MAINTAINED AT DEALERSHIP. 1.5 YEARS OLD, 31,000 MILES. LAST OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP WAS ON 5/5/2017 WITH MILEAGE OF 29,056. FIRE OCCURRED ON 6/10/2017. DRIVING 35 MPH, STRAIGHT DOWN A SMALL HILL, FIRST GOT WARNING LIGHT THAT BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW, FOLLOWED BY ABS NEEDS SERVICING, FOLLOWED BY MANY WARNING LIGHTS ALL AT ONCE. GAS PEDAL FAILED TO WORK AT THAT POINT, LOOKED IN REAR VIEW MIRROR, BLUE SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE CAR. COASTED TO A DIRT LOT, GOT OUT, FIRE UNDER DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WHEEL AREA. QUICKLY SPREAD TO THE REST OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, DESTROYING THE CAR. FROM FIRST WARNING MESSAGE TO PULLED OVER WAS ABOUT 0.5 MILES AND ABOUT ONE MINUTE. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WAS A UCONNECT UPDATE (THE FIRST FOR THE CAR) ON 6/2/2017, ONLY EIGHT DAYS BEFORE THE CAR WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE. THE SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE DISPLAYED AND THE GEAR SHIFTER INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN) AT AUTO PLAZA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DE SOTO (LOCATED AT 128/30 MO-21, DE SOTO, MO 63020, (636) 337-7777). THE FIRST DEALER SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS ORDERED, BUT, A WEEK LATER, INDICATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE SECOND DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THE PART, BUT THEN NOTIFIED THE CONTACT THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALERS DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,700. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE ON MY OWN
THE REAR POWER LIFT GATE WILL NO LATCH TO THE LOCKED POSITION AND IT WILL NOT LIFT. 2016 I HAD THE FCA RECALL R67 REPAIRED. JUNE 1, 2017 I EXPERIENCED MY FIRST ISSUE WITH THE POWER LIFT GATE AND THE DEALERSHIP CLEANED G907 GROUND STRAP. AUGUST 23, 2017 I'M AGAIN EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE REAR LIFT GATE COULD BE OPENED AT ANYTIME DURING VEHICLE MOVEMENT AND DURING A TRAFFIC COLLISION.
THE 911 BUTTON DOES NOT WORK WHEN PRESSED. GET NOTICE SAYING THIS.
2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE 4X4 - WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AT A STOP LIGHT/SIGN, IT ACTS AS IF IT IS IN NEUTRAL FOR A FEW SECONDS PRIOR TO TAKING OFF. IT WILL OFTEN JERK HARD WHEN IT DOES MOVE AS IF IT IS DROPPING INTO GEAR. OFTEN TIMES THE JERK IS HARD ENOUGH THAT IT WILL THROW ME BACK IN THE SEAT AND MAKES A HORRID NOISE. THE JERK CAN HAPPEN AFTER STOPPING OR RANDOMLY AUTO SHIFTING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I'VE KEPT A DIARY OF LOGISTICS (HILL, FLAT SURFACE, WINTER, SUMMER, RAIN, DRY, SLOW DRIVING, FAST DRIVING, ETC...) AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RHYME OR REASON TO WHEN IT'S GOING TO "ACT UP". SOMEONE MENTIONED AN O2 SENSOR? I'VE HAD IT INTO THE DEALER A FEW TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, IT'S NORMAL FOR THIS TO HAPPEN (BOTH THE FEELING OF BEING IN NEUTRAL WHEN TAKING OFF AND THE HARD JERKING WHEN SHIFTING). I WORRY MY TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO FALL OUT OF MY CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENS!
THE TRANSMISSION BANGS INTERMITTENTLY IN VARYING DEGREES IF INTENSITY FROM NOTICEABLE TO EXTREME. WHEN THE BANG IS EXTREME IT FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR IN THE LOWER GEARS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS HOT AND COLD. I DRIVE HARDER THAN MY WIFE AND THE BANGING OCCURS REGARDLESS OF THE DRIVER. UNABLE TO IDENTIFY ANY COMMON FACTORS OTHER THAN OCCURRING IN THE LOWER GEARS WHILE UP SHIFTING AND DOWN SHIFTING. I HAVE BROUGHT IS IN FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES. EACH OF THE FIRST TWO TIMES THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUBOLICATE THE ISSUE. THE LAST VISIT ON MAY 24, 2017 THE HEAD SERVICE TECHNICIAN ACKNOWLEDGED THE BANG DURING A TEST DRIVE. HE SAID HE WOULD ORDER A NEW TRANSMISSION BUT FIRST HAD TO NOTIFY CHRYSLER. TODAY WE WERE NOTIFIED THEY HAD TO FIRST REPLACE THE VALVE BODY AND WERE NOT REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 65MPH, THE CAR GAVE ME A "TRANSMISSION SERVICE" ALARM AND THEN THE CAR LOST POWER AND EVENTUALLY STOPPED. NO RESPONSE TO ACCELERATION AND EVENTUALLY TO STEERING CONTROL. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED APPROXIMATELY 3 MINUTES, TURNED THE KEY AND THEN THE CAR STARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT WITH NO ISSUES. IT WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT COULD HAVE ENDED WITH CATASTROPHIC CONSEQUENCES. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT FROM OVERSEAS MILITARY SALES IN SICILY, ITALY AND THE INCIDENT OCCURRED IN SICILY.
MY CAR IS 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS ROUGHLY 38,300 MILES. THE FACTORY WARRANTY IS 36,000 MILES. I PURCHASED THE CAR AT 37,401. THE PART THAT IS DEFECTIVE IS THE BLOWER MOTOR WHICH CAUSE THE BLOWER MOTOR SENSOR TO GO BAD. ACCORDING TO THE CERTIFIED JEEP MECHANIC AND THE JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE REP THIS PART IS NORMALLY A PART THAT WOULD LAST THE NORMAL SERVICE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THE PART IS EITHER DEFECTIVE. THE CAR WAS MOVING WHEN THE DEFECT WAS NOTICED ON THE HIGHWAY GOING STRAIGHT.
MY TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL WHILE IN DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SAME MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR AS MY CAR, BUT MY VIN DOES NOT QUALIFY. I HOPE JEEP WILL REMEDY THIS PROBLEM WHICH THEY KNOW EXISTS IN THIS VEHICLE. *TT UPDATED 9/28/18*JB
WE WERE SOLD THIS VEHICLE TO FLAT TOW BEHIND A MOTOR COACH. ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR STARTS TO SHAKE DANGEROUSLY OUT OF CONTROL. A DEATH WOBBLE. WE HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP TO GET THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL. WE THOUGHT WE HAD A TIRE BLOW OUT. IT IS UNSAFE TO TOW AS WAS DICTATED IN MY MANUAL. MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS HAD TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUES FOR OVER A YEAR. IT SHIFTS REALLY HARD (JERKS THE WHOLE CAR) AND MAKES A LOUD THUMPING NOISE. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN MULTIPLE TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER BUT IT CONTINUED TO HAPPEN. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TWICE SINCE THEN AND THEY SAID THE DIAGNOSTICS SHOW THERE IS NOTHING WRONG, AND IT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THEIR TEST DRIVES, SO THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND SENT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. I JUST GOT MY VEHICLE IN APRIL 13, 17 MY VEHICLE SHUT COMPLETELY OFF WHILE AT THE STREET LIGHT AND IT DOES THIS WHEN EVER IT FEELS LIKE IT AND WHEN EVER I TURN MY VEHICLE ON SOMETIMES MY INSIDE DASHBOARD OR RADIO LIGHTS WON'T COME ON AND IT'S STILL TRYING TO BE FIXED THIS IS RIDICULOUS
SERVICE SHIFTER WARNING IS DISPLAYED. ALL LIGHT INDICATORS AT SHIFTER ARE LIT. THIS HAPPENED AT START-UP AND CONTINUED WHILE DRIVING.
I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN NOTICING TWO POTENTIAL ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE. 1) ON CERTAIN OCCASION THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL (AS THE RPM'S REV) AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION CATCHES UP A FEW SECONDS LATER SHIFTING INTO GEAR. ALSO, 2) ON CERTAIN OCCASION THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO HAVE A DELAY IN SHIFTING WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. WHILE NEITHER OF THESE ISSUES HAVE YET TO RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND THOSE DRIVERS AROUND ME. WITH THE CONSIDERABLE ATTENTION SURROUNDING THESE ISSUES WITH FCA VEHICLES, I WANTED TO REPORT THIS COMPLAINT TO NHTSA DIRECTLY.
THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES WHEN I AM TRYING TO SLOW DOWN. THIS HAPPENED TOP ME WHILE DRIVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND HAPPENED TO ME WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE WHEN CAR WAS ALMOST BRAND NEW, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY FLASHED THE SYSTEM. SAID IT WAS A RECALL. CAR DROVE FINE FOR A WHILE BUT NOW I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN.
MY SON AND I WERE IN FRONT AND SIDE IMPACT CRASH WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE ON 4/24/17 WITH SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE BUT NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN OUR VEHICLE. ATTACHED ARE A FEW PHOTOS OF BOTH VEHICLES FOR REFERENCE. WE WERE DRIVING A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE AND WERE HIT BY A DRIVER WHO HYDROPLANED IN A 2011 HYUNDAI ELANTRA. THE REPORTING OFFICER ESTIMATED MY SPEED AT IMPACT WAS 40 MPH. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN THE OTHER VEHICLE BUT NOT IN OURS. CONSIDERING THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, FORCE OF IMPACT AND ESTIMATED TRAVEL SPEED AT IMPACT, I FEEL THE JEEP AIRBAGS FAILED FROM A SAFETY STANDPOINT AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT INVESTIGATING THIS FURTHER WITH JEEP. AN ACCIDENT REPORT IS AVAILABLE BUT DID NOT UPLOAD DUE TO THE SENSITIVE INFORMATION CONTAINED WITHIN (VIN #'S, NAMES, INSURANCE POLICY NUMBERS, ETC); HOWEVER, THE REPORT CAN BE PROVIDED UNDER SEPARATE COVER IF NEEDED.
WHEN I START MY VEHICLE AND TURN ON THE KEY MY CAR WILL ACCELERATE FORWARD WITH A JOLT. SOMETIMES WHEN I STOP AND START FOR A LIGHT IT WILL QUICKLY MOVE FORWARD AND JERK....IF I SLOW DOWN THE SPEED IT WILL EXCELLERATE TOO......
NHTSA ISSUE 1096880. 18 APR 2017: DROVE OUT OF SIDE STREET ONTO TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD MAKING OFF SOUNDS AND "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON. FOOLED WITH GEAR SHIFTER. BEGAN TO MOVE ONLY SLOWLY IN 1ST GEAR. HEADED BACK TO MY STREET AND HALF WAY STOPPED MOVING AGAIN. PUSHED OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD AND CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. IT WAS A VERY SCARY AND UNSAFE POSITION TO BE IN CROSS WAYS OF A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND CAN'T MOVE. DECIDED TO TRY AND SEE IF I COULD GET THE REST OF THE WAY TO MY HOUSE. COULDN'T GO OVER 5-10 MPH. ONE TIME RPMS RAISED HIGH AND WENT BACK DOWN. COULD NOT CLIMB DRIVEWAY TO GARAGE. HAD TO LEAVE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON INTERSTATE, LOST POWER AND ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE. TO REPAIR A SOFTWARE UPGRADE WAS RUN ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE VERIFIED THAT NO RECALL EXISTED FOR MY VEHICLE DESPITE THE FACT THAT TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE PROBLEM WAS KNOWN BY CHRYSLER. SOME VEHICLES HAD BEEN RECALLED BUT MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT CONTAINS THE SAME 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION THAT HAS FAILED. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON INTERSTATE WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC AND CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT RISK OF CRASH.
ONE MORNING I STARTED THE CAR, I HEARD WATER MOVING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. WHILE, DRIVING THE CAR I HEARD A NOISE'S LIKE A PRESSURE COOKER SOUNDS. ONCE I ARRIVED AT WORK I WALKED AROUND TO THE PASSAGE SIDE TO RETRIEVE MY STAFF. I COULD SMELLED ANTIFREEZE. I CONTACTED JEEP RIGHT AWAY AND THEY CONTACT A TOW COMPANY. IT WAS DROP OFF. THE DEALERSHIP WORKED ON IT FOR A COUPLE DAYS. THEY DID PRESSURE TEST FOR EXTERNAL LEAK, DIDN'T LOCATE A LEAK. THEY DIDN'T DO A INTERNAL EXAMINE. IT'S 2 YEAR OLD VEHICLES ALREADY LEAKING ANTIFREEZE. I HAVE MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE BUT STILL SMELL ANTIFREEZE. TWO PRESSURE TEST LATER NOTHING. I JUST PICKUP MY VEHICLE FOR THE SECOND TIME. WHY IS JEEP VEHICLES HAVING SO MANY PROBLEM. MY PSI, TRANSMISSION AND RADIO MAKING SOUNDS WHEN ITS OFF. JEEP IS A BAD VEHICLE AND IT JUST A MATTER OF TIME, HUMANS MIGHT BE IN DAMAGE DUE TO THE UNCARING MANUFACTURING COMPANY THAT MAKES LOT'S OF MONEY OF THE BACK OF WORKING AMERICANS.
I WAS DRIVING INTO WORK AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE WORDS, "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" CAME ACROSS MY DASHBOARD. I WAS COMING UP ON A RED LIGHT, SO I STOPPED FOR THE LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I WENT TO ACCERLATE AND MY CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO GET IT GOING, IT WOULD ONLY GO 10 MPH. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALLED AAA. JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT, 2015, STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION AND COMING TO A STOP OR DECREASE IN SPEED. BOTH HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES OVER THE LAST 13 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS BUT THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG.
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS OR SKIPS GEARS. FROM A STOP IT HESITATES TO GO. IT REVS HIGH WHEN DOWN SHIFTING. SHIFTS HARD A LOT. WE HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER 2 TIMES. PROGRAMMING UPDATES WERE DONE. NO IMPROVEMENT TO ITS OPERATION. IT FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO FAIL SOON.
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT HARD. THE DOWNSHIFT IS BAD. VERY POOR ON GAS. ELECTRIC PROBLEM. AIR BAG.

TAKATA RECALL I HAVE HAD MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE (LATITUDE) FOR 2YRS NOW. ON SATURDAY 3/11/17, IT WOULD NOT START AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT WAS ON. THE GEAR SHIFT WASN'T WORKING EITHER. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM BECAUSE IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, THEY GAVE ME THE NUMBER FOR ROADSIDE HELP TO HAVE IT TOWED IN, THEN AFTER SEVERAL TIMES TRYING IT STARTED, WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH THE ROADSIDE SERVICE DPT. THE NEXT WEEK ON TUE (3/14/17) IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN, THEN SUDDENLY IT DID. I WAS CLOSE TO MY JOB SO I THOUGHT I COULD MAKE IT, BUT THE GEARS WERE STUCK AND HARD TO CHANGE. WHILE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC THE CAR I COULDN'T SPEED UP. I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A BAD ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS CAR!!!! THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS CAR IT IS NOT SAFE. I'M JUST GLAD I HAD DROPPED MY 4 KIDS OFF BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A GLITCH IN THE TRANSMISSION MODULE, WELL THIS IS THE SECOND WEEK IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP. THEY CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. WHILE GOING TO GET THE CAR SEATS OUT OF IT, THERE WAS A LADY THERE WITH HER CAR (SAME MAKE & MODEL BUT 2016) HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM SHE HAD ONLY 17,000 MILES ON HER CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON IT. I THINK MINE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. MY MILEAGE IS UNDER 25,000!! THIS IS NOT RIGHT. IF THE COMPANY KNOWS THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE, THEN THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE CAR. 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE TRANSMISSION: WARNING LIGHT FOUR WHEEL DRIVING SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE SERVICE REQUIRED! WHEN DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT THROUGH 2ND GEAR AND GET STUCK THERE WITH VERY HIGH RPMS, THEN SLAMMING INTO THIRD. (CITY STREET & HIGHWAY) IT ACCELERATES WHEN DOWNSHIFTING. NORMAL DRIVING, NO POWER. WHILE DRIVING LOUD WHINING SOUND FROM UNDER THE SUV. WHEN STOPPED AND IN DRIVE AND TURNING ON AC OR HEAT, THE RPMS WOULD DROP BELOW 1K AND THE SUV WOULD AUTOMATICALLY INCREASE THE RPM CAUSING IT TO LURCH FORWARD. TRANSMISSION SHIFTED RANDOMLY. THE DEALERSHIP WE LEASED THE JEEP FROM REPLACED/RECONFIGURED THE DRIVETRAIN CONTROL MODULE AND FLASH PROGRAMMED THE ECU. THEY REPLACED A DEFECTIVE TRANSFER CONTROL MOTOR. THEY CHECKED WIRING HARNESS AND CALLED A REGIONAL TECHNICIAN. ALL OF THESE "FIXES" FAILED AFTER AN EXTENDED TEST DRIVE. RT 46 CHRYSLER, JEEP, DODGE SAID THEY NOW NEED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MOTOR. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THEIR SHOP FOR ALMOST A WEEK. CHRYSLER CORPORATE SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS UNDER WARRANTY. THE SALES MANAGER AT RT 46 CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE WOULD NOT TAKE OUR 2015 CHEROKEE AS TRADE IN FOR A NEW SUV BECAUSE HE CALLED IT A LEMON. THIS VEHICLE IS UNPREDICTABLE AND UNSAFE WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP WE LEASED THE CHEROKEE FROM DOESN'T EVEN WANT IT BACK.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 32656386. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

I'VE CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY SAY THERE'S NO ISSUES OR UPDATES AVAILABLE. TOOK IT IN AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER 2017 AND ANOTHER "SOFTWARE UPDATE" WAS DONE. STILL NO CHANGE. ITS THERE NOW AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY'VE BEEN DRIVING IT FOR 3 DAYS AND ITS "NOT ACTING UP" . SO I ASKED WHAT I SHOULD DO WHEN I PICK IT UP AND ITS STILL HAPPENING. THEY SAID "I GUESS BRING IT BACK". ITS SO UNSAFE AND IT SEEMS LIKE THEY THINK I HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN BRING THE CAR IN AND RENT A CAR.

MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT FIRE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING. I WAS DRIVING WHEN I SMELLED SMOKE AND WITHIN 10 SECONDS, THE ENGINE BURST INTO FLAMES. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE HAD ALL THE RECALLS ADDRESSED. TRANSMISSION TROUBLE WITH ONLY 18000 MILES. SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING DISPLAYED. INITIALLY AT DEALER TOLD THE UPDATE WOULD NOT FIX PROBLEM BUT THEN THEY WERE ABLE TO MAGICALLY FIX IT WITH AN UPDATE. VERY CONCERNED SINCE MULTIPLE REPORTS ON NHTSA WITH SIMILAR FIXES THAT DID NOT WORK AND CAR SUDDENLY STOPPING. SERVICE DEPARTMNENT DID NOT FEEL THAT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY OR THE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS STATING THIS FIX DID NOT WORK.
PURCHASED BRAND NEW- AT 20K MILES HAD TO HAVE THE GEAR SHIFT MOTHERBOARD REPLACED AFTER THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JOLT WHEN DRIVING ALMOST CAUSING A WRECK. IT WOULD JOLT WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR TAKING OFF. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT NOT RELAYING PROPERLY TO TELL THE CAR TO SHIFT GEARS AND WHAT GEAR TO SHIFT TO. I READ SEVERAL ONLINE FORUMS WHERE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WERE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THAT WAS IN AUG OF 2016. NOW IM HAVING TO TAKE IT IN AGAIN BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.
