THERE WAS A RECALL A FEW YEARS BACK FOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES, I TOOK IT IN TO GET FIXED AND IT WORKED FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN AFTER THAT IT WORKS ON AND OFF. I NOTICED WHEN IT GETS HOTTER THAN 80 DEGREES THE A/C WILL NOT ALWAYS TURN ON. I AM NOT SURE IF MY CAR WAS FIXED CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE PARKED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE, BUT DID NOT FILE A REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT FACILITY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER SUCTION/DISCHARGE HOSE FRACTURED, CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, AND CAUSED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V676000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
SUV SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF ROAD WHILE DRIVING NORMAL SPEED, CITY OR HIGHWAY HAPPENS BOTH; ALL LIGHTS ON DASH ARE FLASHING, BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON FOR NO REASON, ALERTS TO CHECK TRANSMISSION, CHECK PARKING BRAKE, CHECK ENGINE, CAR JUS STOPS AND WONT MOVE BUT ENGINE STILL SOUNDS LIKE IT'S RUNNING,, AND AND ALL OTHER ELECTRONIC GAUGES ARE FLASHING ...HAS BEEN TAKEN BACK TO DEALER TWO/THREE TIMES IN ONE MONTH TO FIX BUT BUT THE SAME PROBLEM ALWAYS COMES BACK AGAIN,. NOT IMPRESSED; I HAVE OWNED JEEPS ALL MY LIFE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM, THIS SUV IS DANGEROUS, I BOUGHT THIS CAR AND PAID $38 THOUSAND AND HAVE 19K MILES ON IT . I EVEN TRIED TO TRADE IT IN WITH THE SAME DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS ONLY WORTH 17K WHICH IS LESS THAN HALF WHAT I PAID FOR IT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO! HOW IS THIS EVEN LEGAL? WHY AM I MAKING CAR PAYMENTS FOR A SUV THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS IS DEFECTIVE AND ONE WHICH THEY HAVE NOT RESOLVED ISSUES ? HOW CAN CHRYSLER GET AWAY WITH THIS ? AND THIS IS THE AUTO MANUFACTURER THAT OUR GOVERNMENT FINANCIALLY BAILED OUT A FEW YEAR WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS? HOW WOULD CHRYSLER RESPOND IF WE ALL QUIT MAKING PAYMENTS ON OUR LOANS ? MOST RECENT INCIDENT: 5/25/16, EN ROUTE HOME FROM WORK, NORTHERN STATE PARKWAY. VEHICLE ACCELERATED, WHILE MOVING WITH TRAFFIC WITH THREE CAR LENGTHS BETWEEN MYSELF AND CAR IN FRONT OF ME FROM 35MPH TO 60MPH. I ALMOST REAR-ENDED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES LATER, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED FROM 40MPH TO AN ALMOST STOP WITHOUT MY HITTING THE BRAKES AND I WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND. I CAME TO A FULL STOP UPON EXITING THE PARKWAY, WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE TO MOVE FORWARD AND MERGE INTO TRAFFIC ON SOUTH OYSTER BAY ROAD, MY VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE MORE THAN ROLLING AHEAD. I 'FLOORED IT' IN AN ATTEMPT TO MOVE INTO TRAFFIC, AS THERE WAS NOW A CAR APPROACHING QUICKLY, AND MY VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE AS IT SHOULD HAVE; IT CONTINUED TO ROLL ALONG. WESTBURY, NY 11590 1(516)333-2666 MY MOST RECENT CHRYSLER CASE #: 29373159 CASE MANAGER: CRYSTAL; 1(800)763-8422 EXT. 40505 I HAVE HAD ONGOING ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE SIGNING A LEASE IN DECEMBER 2014. THE SEATS INCESSANTLY SQUEAK, WITH NO REMEDY. THE CAR HAS BEEN PULLING, JERKING, ACCELERATING, AND DECELERATING ON ITS OWN. THIS PROBLEM HAS ESCALATED TO AN UNSAFE STATUS AND I AM UNABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE MY VEHICLE. CHRYSLER CORPORATION HAS DEEMED THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE, YET IT CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE AND DECELERATE WITHOUT MY INITIATION OF SUCH ACTIONS. THE VEHICLE HAS AN UNSAFE DELAY IN ACCELERATION WHEN I DO ATTEMPT TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY, FOR EXAMPLE. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FUNCTIONING AT A SAFE STANDARD AND THE COMPANY IS CLAIMING NOTHING WRONG AND SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE HAD FAR TOO MANY NEAR-WRECKS BECAUSE OF DELAYED ACCELERATION, AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING ON ITS OWN. PLEASE HELP ME.
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS, STALLS, HESITATES AT ACCELERATION AT ANY SPEED. PARTICULARLY WORRISOME WHEN TRAVELING ON HIGHWAYS WHEN IT JEOPARDIZES OUR SAFETY! HAPPENS CONTINUALLY DESPITE THE JEEP DEALERSHIPS ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR. STILL TELLING US IT IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE AND A DAY AFTER SERVICE PROBLEM CONTINUES. NO FIX.
HEADLIGHTS ARE MUCH DIMMER THAN ANY CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN TO THE POINT OF BEING UNSAFE ON UNLIGHTED ROADS AND LOWER VISIBILITY SITUATIONS. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT HEADLAMP PERFORMANCE IS DIMMER THAN HEADLAMPS OF THE OLD SEALED BEAM DESIGN. ????????
1. DELAY IN FINDING GEAR WHEN ACCELERATING ON A DOWNSLOPE CAUSE A SUDDEN BUCKING OF THE VEHICLE INTO FAR LANE OF TRAFFIC. 2. SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT ON HIGHWAY CAUSED RAPID DECELERATION IN HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC. 3. JERKY SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS CONTINUOUSLY.
THIRD TIME SAME ISSUE. 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION SERVICE TRANSMISSION, SERVICE PARK BRAKE, MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT, D(DRIVE) FLASHING ON DASHBOARD, BARELY MADE IT UP A HILL, HAD TO PRESS ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. VERY DANGEROUS-OTHER VEHICLES DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING. OCCURED 2 TIMES IN 2WEEKS AFTER SOFTWARE UPDATED. NOT MANY REGRETS IN MY LIFE BUT BUYING THIS VEHICLE TOPS THE LIST.
THE 2015 VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN CLOSED GARAGE AND KEY FOBS WAS LEFT IN CAR CUP HOLDER. CAR STARTED ITSELF AND DID NOT TURN OFF RAN IN A CLOSED GARAGE FOR OVER AND HOUR. THIS IS A REAL SEVERE ISSUE THAT THE CAR SHOULD HAVE ALARMED OR SHUT ITSELF OFF AFTER 10 MINUTES MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN DEAD AND NOT BE ABLE TO TALK ABOUT IT. LUCKILY THIS WAS CAUGHT BEFORE HARM WAS DONE. THIS IS NOT A MISTAKE THAT CAN BE UNDONE. THE CAR ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE IT WOULD REV TO 3-4,000 RPMS WHEN IN PARK AFTER WE PULLED IT OUT OF THE GARAGE. COULDN'T BE DRIVEN AS IT WOULD HAVELOST.CONTROL WITH THE THROTTLE STICKING. CAR DEALER SAYS IT'S FIXED THROTTLE REPLACED AND ALL IS WELL. BUT IT IS NOT I CANNOT PARK THAT CAR IN MY GARAGE AND THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR ME. CAR DEALERS DON'T WORK WITH PEOPLE, THEY JUST WANT TO FIX THE RECALLS AND FOR YOU TO GO AWAY. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE! PEOPLE NEED TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY ESPECIALLY WHEN. IT COMES TO CARBON MONOXIDE LEVELS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING FLAT TOWED, IT SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHEN THE CONTACT HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,909.
FLAT TOW OWNER ADDENDUM CARD RECALL S13 CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION WE OWN A 2015 JEEP EQUIPPED WITH JEEP ACTIVE DRIVE II TRANSFER CASE. WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE YOU COULD FLAT TOW ON THE GROUND. NOW FCA IS SENDING OUT ADDENDUM CARDS TELLING US THAT YOU CAN'T FLAT TOW YOUR VEHICLE. UNLESS WE THE OWNERS PAY TO HAVE A WIRING KIT AND BATTERY INSTALLED. BECAUSE OUR VEHICLE MAY SHAKE ON ROUGH ROADS WHILE TOWING. FCA SAID THAT THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. IF THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE THEN WHAT IS IT?? WE HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVE THE 2014 JEEP EQUIPPED THE SAME. WE WERE FOLLOWING THEM ON THE HIGHWAY AND SAW THEIR VEHICLE BOUNCE FROM SIDE TO SIDE NOT SHAKE. THEY HAVE ALREADY HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE REPLACED. I HAVE CONTRACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, FCA GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER, AND CHRYSLER CORP. IN PHOENIX WAS ALSO CONTACTED BY DEALERSHIP. THAT THE REPAIRS IS ON US. ALSO THE RECALL S13 IS ONLY FOR THE ADDENDUM CARD.
THE ROUGH SHIFTING IN LOW GEARS IS AN ANNOYANCE THE TRANS DISENGAGING IN AN ACCELERATED LEFT TURN WAS A NEAR MISS CRASH. IT'S HAPPENED TWICE NOW AND I'VE DETERMINED THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH IT HAPPENS. IN BOTH CASES THE CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN THE SAME. CONDITIONS: I LIVE IN A CITY WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC. TRAVEL ON A TWO LANE ROAD TO MY HOME AND IT IS AT A CRAWLING PACE. I HAVE TO TURN LEFT INTO SUB. THERE IS OPPOSING TRAFFIC & LIMITED OPENINGS TO TURN. YOU HAVE TO "HIT IT" TO MAKE YOUR LEFT TURN BETWEEN THE OPPOSING TRAFFIC CARS (NO STOP LIGHT). WHEN YOU HIT IT, THE ENGINE REVS IN THAT LOW GEAR AND YOU ARE NOW INTO THE OPPOSING LANE AND YOU HAVE SECONDS WHERE YOU SEEM LIKE YOU'RE JUST FLOATING (NO TRANSMISSION ENGAGED) THROUGH THAT LANE. THE OPPOSING CAR IS STILL COMING AT YOU. THE TRANS FINALLY JERKS AND ENGAGES AND YOU SQUEAL YOUR TIRES TO QUICKLY GET OUT OF THE WAY AND NOT GET HIT. IT'S CLOSE ENOUGH THAT THE OPPOSING CAR BEEPS IT'S HORN AT YOU. IT'S BAD, WHEN YOU DON'T TRUST YOUR VEHICLE (ONLY 1 YEAR OLD) TO ANOTHER PERSON. I WORRY FOR THEIR SAFETY! I'M DISSATISFIED WITH THE VEHICLE ONLY BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION. IF I HAD MY WAY, I'D BE GIVING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP.
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
THE SHIFTING ON THIS CAR IS TERRIBLE AND I'M SURPRISED IT HASN'T CAUSED ME TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT. IT JERKS AND EITHER TAKES FOREVER TO SHIFT OR SHIFTS WAY TO HARD AND TOO FAST. EVEN JUST COASTING IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD IT'S A HARD SHIFT BETWEEN GEARS AND I CANNOT BELIEVE I PURCHASED THIS CAR. EVERY DRIVE IS AN ISSUE AND WHENEVER I HAVE PASSENGERS THEY ALL COMMENT THAT SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG WITH HOW THE CAR SHIFTS.
THE PROBLEM IS IN THE TRANSMISSION, WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT FOR INSTANT, YOU HAD BETTER KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, IT WILL SOMETIMES TRY TO LURCH FORWARD, ALSO JUST SITTING AT A LIGHT YOU WILL HEAR A VERY LOUD CLUNK, LIKE IT JUST DOWN-SHIFTED, THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE JUNK.

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE CONTACT HEARD A HARD KNOCK IN THE ENGINE, WHICH WAS POSSIBLY CAUSED BY THE TRANSMISSION. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED OUT OF DIFFERENT GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DAYTON ANDREWS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (3613, 2301 34TH ST N, ST. PETERSBURG, FL 33713, (727) 321-0500) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INVESTIGATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,700.

THE TECHNICIAN NOTED ON THE INVOICE THAT THE OIL FILTER WAS LOOSE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,633.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, THE VEHICLE ROLLED INDEPENDENTLY OVER A HILL AND JUMPED THE CURB AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS OCCUPIED WITH A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER, WHO SUSTAINED INJURIES TO BOTH LEGS AND NECK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. I WAS TRAVELING ON A MAIN HIGHWAY AT 62 MPH. SUDDENLY THE CAR LURCHED AND THE RPM'S SHOT UP TO 4000. THE CAR WAS IMMEDIATELY GOING 70 MPH. I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES SO I DIDN'T RAM THE CAR AHEAD OF ME.
THE TRANSMISSION JERKS SOMETIMES UPON STARTING; LOSES POWER AT TIMES GOING UP HILL; SEEMS TO DECELERATE OR BE OUT OF THE RIGHT GEAR. IT MAY ALSO LOSE POWER WHEN MAKING A TURN INTO TRAFFIC WHEN YOU PUT THE FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO SHIFT GEARS SMOOTHLY AT TIMES. IT IS SCARY WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND IT LOSES POWER.
MY VEHICLE JERKS FORWARD AFTER STOPPING, INCREASES SPEED WHILE SLOWING DOWN ON A HILL, FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO SHOOT OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING IT.
I WAS ON A ROAD TRIP AND STOPPED FOR GAS, I WAS PULLING MY SMALL TRAVEL TRAILER AT THE TIME. WHEN I WENT TO OPEN THE PASSENGER DOOR THE CAR WAS FILLED WITH SMOKE AND WHEN THE BACK HATCH WAS OPENED THERE WERE FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE SIDE PANEL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IN THE BACK. THERE WAS A HIGHWAY PATROL RIGHT BY ME WHO RIPPED OFF THE PANELS AND GOT A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME. IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. IT TOOK TEN DAYS FOR IT TO GET TOWED BACK TO MY HOME TOWN TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP. THEY CALLED ME TODAY AND ASKED IF THERE WAS A LIGHTENING STORM WHERE I WAS AND IF IT WAS POSSIBLE I GOT HIT BY LIGHTENING, WHICH THERE WAS NOT. THEY HAVE SENT THE INFORMATION TO CHRYSLERJEEP AND ARE WAITING TO SEE HOW TO PROCEED. HE SAID THERE IS NOW NO POWER TO ANY PART OF THE CAR AND MENTIONED SOMETHING ABOUT HAVING TO POSSIBLY REPLACE THE ENTIRE BODY HARNESS AS THERE IS A COMPLETE LOSS OF CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS OF THE JEEP. I BOUGHT THIS JEEP BRAND NEW ABOUT 14 MONTHS AGO. MY DOG WAS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME AND HAD I LEFT TO GO INSIDE THE GAS STATION I AM SURE SHE WOULD HAVE DIED. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE ELECTRICAL FIRE IN MY PRACTICALLY NEW JEEP AND WORRY THAT EVEN A FIX IS GOING TO SOLVE THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.
THE VEHICLE HAS HAD SHIFTING ISSUES. WHILE DRIVING IT WILL BEGIN TO JERK LIKE IT WANTS TO SHIFT ON ITS OWN. THE MOST RECENT AND TERRIFYING INCIDENT WAS TODAY AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO CROSS FOUR LANES OF HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT WANTING TO SHIFT OR ACCELERATE AND IT WAS JERKING AGAIN. I'VE TAKEN IT IN ONCE BEFORE FOR THIS ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE CODES. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN FOR ALL BUT ESPECIALLY MYSELF, AS I HAVE TO CROSS THIS HIGHWAY DAILY.
CAR HAS ALL SORTS OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS FROM SHIFTING CLUNKING SLAMMING INTO GEARS CAR WON'T RECOGNIZE THAT IT'S IN PARK AND WON'T TURN OFF LIFTGATE OPENS AND CLOSES BY ITSELF RECENTLY OPENED AND SMASHED MY GARAGE DOOR IN THE LIFTGATE RADIO WON'T WORK GPS SAYS I'M IN WYOMING
MY CHEROKEE HAS NEVER DRIVEN 100% SINCE THE FIRST DAY I GOT IT. IT HESITATES AND JERKS FORWARD WHEN INITIALLY ACCELERATING, JERKS TO A STOP OR WHEN PARKING AND SHAKES WHEN INITIALLY STARTING THE CAR AND VIBRATES. OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS THE CAR HAS COMPLETELY DIED ON ME TWICE, THE SECOND TIME BEING JUST THIS MORNING. IT IS A BRAND NEW CAR; THERE IS NO REASONABLE EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING OTHER THAN THE NEW 9 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS THAT CHRYSLER PRODUCED ARE INSUFFICIENT AND HAVE NOT BEEN THOROUGHLY TESTED BEFORE PUTTING CONSUMERS BEHIND THE WHEEL. THE CARS BATTERY LIGHT FLASHED ON MY DASHBOARD AND THEN THE CAR SLOWED TO A STOP AND COMPLETELY CUT OFF. THE DASH TOLD ME TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND THEN SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE BUT I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. THERE IS NO WAY THE BATTERY OR ENGINE IS AN ISSUE SO I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM OTHER THAN A FAULTY COMPUTER IN THE CAR. I HAVE HAD THE SOFTWARE UPDATED AND FLASHED AND YET HERE WE ARE AGAIN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT SEEMS TO PUZZLE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY HAVE GIVEN ME A LAUNDRY LIST OF BOLOGNA REASONINGS AS TO WHY THE CAR DRIVES THE WAY IT DOES AND WHY THIS AND THAT ARE HAPPENING BUT YET NO FIX FOR THEM. IT IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE TO ME THAT BECAUSE THERE HAVE BEEN NO SIGNIFICANT INJURIES OR DEATHS DUE TO THESE TRANSMISSION ISSUES THAT NO RECALL OR ANYTHING HAS BEEN RELEASED. I HAVE DONE MY FAIR SHARE OF RESEARCH ON TRANSMISSION ISSUES IN THE 2015 CHEROKEES AND HAVE SADLY FOUND 100'S OF COMPLAINTS FROM CONSUMERS YET STILL NO SOLID FIX OR ANSWER TO THESE PEOPLES PROBLEMS. HOW CHRYSLER IS GETTING AWAY WITH THIS BLOWS MY MIND. THESE CARS ARE VIRTUALLY DEATH TRAPS JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR ANYMORE AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.
THE STITCHING ON THE LEATHER WRAPPED STEERING WHEEL IS VERY ABRASIVE AND IS RAISED JUST ENOUGH TO FEEL SHARP AND ANNOYING. WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL INSIDE USING THE SPOKES, THE STITCHING IS VERY ABRASIVE AND HAS CHAFED SKIN OFF MY THUMB. IN OTHER AREAS OF THE STEERING WHEEL, IT'S JUST NOT TOTALLY COMFORTABLE TO GRIP BECAUSE OF THE SHARP FEELING OF THE STITCHING. THIS CONDITION OBVIOUSLY EXISTS ALL THE TIME, BUT IS MOST NOTICEABLE AND ANNOYING WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL IN WIDE ARCS AS IN PARALLEL PARKING.
PROBLEM 1: PARKED CAR IN GARAGE - WENT TO RESTART & PUT IN REVERSE NUMEROUS ERROR MESSAGES WHICH SAID CANNOT ENGAGE 4WD, CHECK ENGINE, CHECK TRANSMISSION; RESTART AND PUT IN REVERSE AGAIN; EACH TIME I RESTARTED AS INSTRUCTED AND PUT IN REVERSE TRANSMISSION JERKED HARD. STARTED 3 TIMES EACH TIME THE SAME RESPONSE. CALLED DEALER WHO SENT 2 MECHANICS - TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP; CAR NOW NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM 2: HORN GOES OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING. DOES NOT STOP WHEN VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. SERVICED THREE TIMES BY DEALERSHIP (COMPUTER UPDATES AND PART). DON'T KNOW IF LAST FIX WORKED SINCE THE CAR IS NOW DISABLED DUE TO TRANSMISSION.
SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT COMES ON UNDER NORMAL DRIVING, THEN TRANSMISSION 'DISENGAGES', LEAVING NO POWER. MUST COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPEN TWICE ON A FREEWAY. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SERVICED TWICE, INCLUDING A NEW 'FLASH' OF THE SOFTWARE. IN FOR A THIRD TIME NOW.
HEAD LIGHTS INADEQUATE. DIFFICULT IT SEE AT NIGHT AND IN RAIN IMPOSSIBLE.

INTERMITTENT ROUGH SHIFTING, SLAMMING INTO GEAR DURING UPSHIFT FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. HAPPENS RANDOMLY, FROM MOVING IN A PARKING LOT AT 10MPH TO PASSING ON THE INTERSTATE. THE GEAR SLAM IS SO INTENSE IT FEELS LIKE I'VE BEEN REAR-ENDED.

ON APRIL 1, MY FAMILY AND I WERE HEADED 2 HOURS AWAY FOR A WEEKEND GETAWAY. MY 16 YEAR OLD NEW DRIVER WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND IT BOGGED DOWN AND THEN JUMPED AHEAD WHILE HE WAS ACCELERATING FROM 45 TO 55. HE WAS SCARED TO DEATH! IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME NUMEROUS TIMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT/SIGN. IT IS INEVITABLE THAT I WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT, EITHER REAR-ENDING SOMEONE, OR BEING REAR ENDED.
Vehicle randomly shifts to neutral while driving, typically at slower speeds. This has been happening for 6 years. It doesn’t feel safe when you’re sitting in an intersection and the vehicle is in neutral.

VEHICLE HAS JERKY, HARSH SHIFTS IN LOWER GEARS WENT ACCELERATING OR TURNING. IT HAS MADE THE TIRES CHURP A FEW TIMES SHIFTING INTO LOWER GEARS WHEN ACCELERATING OR TURNING. SOMETIMES HANGS OUT IN 2ND OR 3RD GEARS AND WILL NOT SHIFT FOR 4 TO 5 SECONDS. WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE, IT SOMETIMES TAKES 3 TO 4 SECONDS FOR DRIVE TO ENGAGE. WHEN AT CRUISING SPEED, IT RUNS AT 1000 TO 1200 RPM CAUSING IT TO VIBRATE AND SHAKE BECAUSE IT WON'T DOWNSHIFT WHEN I GIVE IT GAS. SOMETIMES WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE I'LL SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND IT WON'T ENGAGE AND TELL ME TO "SHIFT TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR". BEEN TO DEALER 2 SEPARATE TIMES FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES, 3RD TIME WAS TOLD THAT'S JUST HOW THE VEHICLE RUNS, 4TH TIME REPLACED THE VALVE BODY ON THE TRANSMISSION TWICE BECAUSE THE FIRST ONE DIDN'T WORK, 5TH TIME THEY REPLACED THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION, AND 6TH TIME WAS TOLD THAT IS JUST HOW THE VEHICLE RUNS AGAIN. NONE OF THIS "FIXES" HAVE DONE ANYTHING TO MAKE IT ANY BETTER. WITH ALL THESE ISSUES, THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS VEHICLE IS THE CAUSE OF A ACCIDENT.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ILLUMINATING INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS. FINALLY THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ERROR CODE. IMPLAUSABLE DATA FROM THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE ERROR CODE U0402. THE DEALERSHIP IS STATING THE IS SAFE TO DRIVE HOWEVER I QUESTION WHAT KIND OF DAMAGE IT IS DOING TO MY TRANSMISSION.
WHEN I PURCHASED MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE ONE OF THE MAIN REASON WAS FOR ITS ABILITY TO BE FLAT TOWED BEHIND A MOTOR HOME WITH EASE. AFTER HAVING IT FOR A NUMBER OF MONTHS I NOTICED IT SOMETIMES VIBRATED WHILE TOWING. AFTER READING SOME FORUMS AND CHECKING WITH DEALERS CHRYSLER REALIZED THAT WAS DUE TO THESE NEW MODELS HAVING ELECTRONIC STEERING VERSUS THE OLD HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS AND IT NOW REQUIRES POWER TO BE CONSTANT TO THE STEERING DURING TOWING. NOW REALIZE WHEN I PURCHASED IT THE MANUAL CLEARLY STATED THE PROCEDURES WHICH I FOLLOWED. NOW I RECEIVE A NOTICE THAT SAYS IN ORDER TO FLAT TOW I NEED A SPECIAL HARNESS INSTALLED WITH A COST OF PARTS AND LABOR OF OVER $400. THEY HAVE NOW PROVIDED AN ADDENDUM TO THEIR OWNERS MANUAL STATING ALL THIS. MY ISSUE IS THEY WANT THE OWNER TO PAY TO MAKE THEIR VEHICLE SAFE WHEN THE OWNER WAS NOT THE ISSUE HERE. THE OWNER SHOULD NOT BE FORCED TO PAY WHEN THEY PURCHASED A VEHICLE THAT WAS ADVERTISED WITH CERTAIN FEATURES LIKE SAFE FLAT TOWING WHEN IN FACT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. SO UNLESS I WANT TO PAY $400 I HAVE TO TOW A CAR THAT COULD VIBRATE SEVERELY UNDER CERTAIN ROAD CONDITIONS WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
VEHICLE REGULARLY HAS DELAYED SHIFTING, LOSS OF ACCELERATION, ETC. DURING REGULAR TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. THIS HAS BEEN VERY DANGEROUS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS DURING TRAFFIC MERGES AND CROSSINGS WITH NEAR COLLISIONS. THE TRANSMISSION ITSELF IN THE NEW CHEROKEE IS AN OVERLY COMPLICATED AND POORLY PERFORMING PRODUCT THAT FCA AND ITS DEALERS REFUSE TO FIX. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL MY CHEROKEE'S TRANSMISSION FAILS AND/OR CAUSES AN ACCIDENT.
ENGINE SHUTS DOWN STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING NO WARNING ON ROADWAYS FREEWAYS NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH COULD BE A RESULT.
THE JEEP LUNGES AND SURGES AT ANY POINT OF A DRIVE. WHILE IN REVERSE THE JEEP ACCULTURATES WITHOUT HAVING MY FOOT ON THE GAS. THE JEEP WILL GO FROM 1K REV TO 2K WITHOUT FOOT ON GAS. THIS HAS CAUSED A FENDER BENDER. JEEP HAS UPDATED THE SOFTWARE 4-5 TIMES AND NOW SAYS IT DRIVES THE WAY IT SHOULD

WE HAVE HAD OUR JEEP INTO DEALER 4 TIMES NOW FOR THE TRANSMISSION NOT BEING RIGHT. THE FIRST TIME WITH 5500 MILES ON IT. IT HAS ISSUES WITH HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO GET ON FREE WAY. SOMETIMES IT WILL GET UP TO SPEED OTHER TIMES IT HAS A DELAY VERY SCARY. 8 HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED IT REV OUT 3600 RPM FOR NO REASON. IT ALSO HAS A DELAY IN SHIFTING FROM A STOP ON A HILL. WHEN YOU GIVE IT GAS IT GOES BUT NOT BEFORE IT LUNGES FORWARD. VEHICLE SHIFT ROUGH OR LUNGES INTERMITTENT THAT WHAT IS SO SCARY ABOUT THIS VEHICLE YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT IS GOING TO DRIVE PROPERLY. EACH TIME AT THE DEALER THEY WERE UN ABLE TO VERIFY PROBLEM UNTIL THIS LAST TIME. TECH WENT ON TEST DRIVE AND WHEN MERGING ON FREEWAY DID EXPERIENCE HESITATION. ALSO SERVICE ADVISOR EXPERIENCED THE LUNGING WHEN HE PULLED VEHICLE UP FOR US. HOWEVER HIS EXPERIENCE DOESN'T MATTER SINCE HE IS NOT A TECH.

MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN NOV '14. WHEN COMING TO A STOP SIGN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JUMP INTO LOWER GEAR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD. HOWEVER, MORE DANGEROUSLY, UPON COMING TO A NEAR STOP AND ACCELERATING, THE TRANSMISSION WILL VERY SLUGGISHLY MOVE THE VEHICLE FORWARD, THEN RAPIDLY ACCELERATE CAUSING THE TIRES TO BREAK TRACTION AND "PEEL OUT". I HAVE NEARLY BEEN IN FOUR ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, TWO BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, AND THE OTHER TWO BECAUSE I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AS THE FRONT TIRES SPUN OUT OF CONTROL. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND IS A CLEAR SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE HAD MY JEEP AT A DEALERSHIP FOR WARRANTY SERVICE ON THIS MATTER TWICE NOW, WITH ABSOLUTELY ZERO CORRECTIVE ACTIONS. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, THEY "UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE" BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. TODAY, WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, I ATTEMPTED A LEFT HAND TURN WITH NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION, WITH THE ENGINE AT 2,500 RPMS, VERY SLOWLY MOVED THE VEHICLE, THEN IT SPUN OUT THE FRONT TIRES ALMOST COLLIDING ME WITH A SCHOOL BUS WAITING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. THIS TRANSMISSION IS DANGEROUS, JEEP DOES NOT HAVE AN ADEQUATE FIX TO THIS PROBLEM, AND MY VEHICLE WARRANTY IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE EXPIRATION, I WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX THIS ISSUE, BUT IT DOESN'T APPEAR THAT JEEP HAS AN ADEQUATE FIX TO THE PROBLEM.
MY VEHICLE'S EMERGENCY BRAKE RELEASE CONTINUES TO REMAIN IN THE ON POSITION, PREVENTING ME FROM DRIVING MY CAR FROM TIME TO TIME, KILLING MY BATTERY POWER MULTIPLE TIMES-I HAVE REPLACED MY BATTERY TWICE IN THE LAST YEAR. I HAD THE JEEP DEALERSHIP IN WHITE BEAR MN CHARGE ME $185 FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND THE TELL ME I HAVE TO FULLY REPLACE THE BRAKES CONTROL BOX WITH A COST OF MORE THAN $800 AND MENTIONED THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THIS DUE TO THE TIME FRAME, BUT MY CONCERN HAS BEEN EXPRESSED SINCE I'VE OWN THE CAR IN 2015 AND ONLY HAVE 65,000 CURRENTLY ON THE CAR THAT I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE AND YET AFFORD TO FIX SINCE I AM A COLLEGE STUDENT. PLEASE HELP.
ISSUES BEGAN IN DECEMBER, 2015 WITH INTERMITTENT HARD SHIFTING IN THE LOWER GEARS WHEN PULLING OUT. DEALER COULDN'T 'DUPLICATE' SAME. HARD SHIFTING HAS GONE FROM INTERMITTENT TO PRETTY MUCH ALL THE TIME WHEN PULLING OUT, BACKING UP AND ONLY IN THE LOWER GEARS. I HAVE HAD THE JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES, HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FIAT/CHRYSLER AND HAVE HAD NO LUCK/RESPONSE OTHER THAN THEY CAN'T GET MY CAR TO DUPLICATE WHAT I SAY IT IS DOING. ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION IT HAS GOTTEN STUCK IN FIRST GEAR AND I HAVE HAD TO USE THE SLAP STICK TO GET IT OUT OF THE STUCK GEAR. SHIFTING IS ALMOST TO THE POINT OF GIVING ME WHIPLASH AND HAS GOTTEN WORSE.
