TUESDAY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE MAKING A LEFT TURN ONTO A BUSY 4 LANE HWY THE JEEP ATTEMPTED TO STALL WITH DINGING NOISES LIKE WARNING LIGHTS SHOULD COME ON NOTHING APPEARED, WEDNESDAY WHILE DRIVING AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN THE JEEP JUST SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY WITH THE BATTERY WARNING LIGHT ON STATING "TO SHIFT YOU MUST BEGIN IN PARK" ON THE DASH - COULDN'T MOVE THE VEHICLE AT ALL NOR WOULD IT RESTART FOR OVER 15 MINUTES. FINALLY GOT THE JEEP STARTED, CONTINUED ON MY ROUTE WITH IT LURCHING FORWARD AND SURGING - MIND YOU AN INFANT WAS THE BACK SEAT BOTH TIMES OCCURRENCES. WE BOTH COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE IF ANOTHER VEHICLE WOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSE EITHER TIME. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY INFORMED ME TO DROP IT OFF SO I DROPPED IT OFF WEDNESDAY MORNING WITH IT YET TO BE LOOKED AT AFTER BEING THERE FOR 36 HRS WITH NO HOPE IN SITE OF WHEN IT WILL BE. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN TO APPROX. 20MPH AND THEN ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN.
JULY 31, 2015: VEHICLE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING (8-10 MILES) IN MORNING AND AGAIN IN AFTERNOON. IN PM TURNED OF VEHICLE AND RESTARTED, VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS INCLUDING TRANSMISSION REQUIRES SERVICE WARNINGS APPEARED AND TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN ONE GEAR. JULY 31-AUGUSTS1 JEEP WAS AT DEALER FOR COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT (APPROXIMATELY 5500 MILES). OCTOBER 5-OCTOBER 7 VEHICLE LEFT WITH DEALER DUE TO CONTINUED TRANSMISSION ISSUES WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE PERIODICALLY CLUNKS AND JERKS FORWARD WHEN SHIFTING INTO LOW GEAR WHEN COMING TO A STOP. BECOMES CONFUSED WHEN SLOWING TO A ROLLING STOP, AND HESITATES TO TAKE OFF WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. CURRENTLY WHEN DRIVING IN DAYLIGHT THE AUTO HEADLIGHTS PERIODICALLY FLICKER ON AND OFF WHEN I DRIVE THROUGH A SHADOW AND MAKE VIEWING DISPLAYS IN DAYLIGHT PROBLEMATIC. JEEP CUSTOMER CARE SAYS THAT THEY COULD FIND NO ERROR CODES AND WITHOUT "REPLICATING THE PROBLEM" OR HAVING ERROR CODES THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH JUST AFTER LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY AND A DEER JUMPED IN FRONT OF THE CAR. WHEN I MOVE MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDDLE TO THE BRAKE PEDDLE IN A HURRY DURING ENGINE WARM UP THE POWER BRAKES DO NOT WORK. I CAN NOT STOP THE CAR. I CAN NOT ENGAGE THE ABS OR SLIDE THE TIRES. I PUSH THE BRAKE PEDDLE AS HARD AS I CAN AND THERE IS NO POWER BRAKES. I HAD THE DEALER SERVICE LOOK AT IT 3 OR 4 TIMES AND THEY EVEN TRIED SOME OTHER NEW CARS THAT ARE THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL AND SAID THAT THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. AND THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT REPAIRABLE BECAUSE ALL THE JEEP CHEROKEES ARE THE SAME WAY, ONLY SOME HAVE THE PROBLEM WORSE. THIS PROBLEM IS ONLY APPARENT DURING ENGINE WARM UP. IT SEEMS TO BE A LACK OF VACUUM TO THE POWER BRAKE MODULE WHEN YOU MOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE GAS TO THE BRAKE, IN A SPLIT SECOND, DURING AN EMERGENCY STOP. MY CAR IS STILL NOT CORRECT AND DEALER SAYS THAT ALL JEEP CHEROKEES ARE NOT CORRECT. PLEASE HELP US JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS BEFORE WE KILL SOMEONE. THANK YOU,
DRIVING UP STEEP HILL, TRANSMISSION FAILED, CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL, FLASHING RED MESSAGES ON DASH, CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS. HAD TO PUT ON EMERGENCY BRAKE AND JUMP OUT. TOWED TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN BERKELY, CA. THEY REPLACED TRANSMISSION AND UPDATED SOFTWARE AS OF OCT.1,2015.CAR PURCHASED NEW IN FEB. 2015, HAS 5000 MILES. NOW CAR LURCHES FORWARD, WHEN DRIVING. I FEEL LIKE I WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE DOESN'T RETURN PHONE CALLS. I GUESS I AM LUCKY I HAVEN'T INJURED MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE YET!!
MY CAR HAS HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES FROM VERY EARLY ON. I CAN STEP ON THE GAS, THE ENGINE REVS UP BUT DOES NOT REGISTER ON THE TACHOMETER, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT CATCHES AND GOES. I HAVE BEEN IN 4 OR 5 SITUATIONS WHERE I STARTED PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR SIMPLY HESITATED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE GOING. I ACTUALLY HAD A VERY CLOSE CALL WITH A TRACTOR TRAILER BECAUSE OF THIS HESITATION. ALSO, YOU CAN STEP ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE AND ONCE AT THE DESIRED SPEED THEN LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND THE ENGINE STAYS AT THE ACCELERATED RPM'S FOR SEVERAL SECONDS THEN SHIFTS BACK OUT TO NORMAL RPM'S. ALSO, THE CAR HAS HAD 4 SEPARATE ELECTRICAL ISSUES IN 4 MONTHS AS WELL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THEN THE ENGINE COOLING FAN RUNS FAST FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES THEN SHUTS BACK DOWN. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE AT HE DEALERSHIP FOR PROBLEMS 5 TIMES IN 4 MONTHS AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND WHAT THE ISSUE IS OR WHAT TO DO TO CORRECT IT.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY & DASHBOARD STARTS FLASHING, HAD TO PULL OVER AND MESSAGE STATED TO SERVICE TRANSMISSION. CAR HAS LESS THAN 15 K MILES, TOOK IT IN DEALER INDICATED IT WAS FIXED, SAME DAY ON THE WAY HOME FROM DEALER ON HIGHWAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN IT WAS SECURED. THE FAILURES RECURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,585.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION OF MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE SINCE I GOT IT. IT WILL SOMETIME NOT SHIFT GOING UP HILLS AND OVER REVS BUT WHAT IS VERY SCARY IS IT WILL SOMETIMES JUST HESITATE WHEN I PRESS THE GAS AND THEN SUDDENLY TAKE OFF WITHOUT WARNING. IF I AM PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND I PRESS THE GAS TO GO QUICKLY THE CAR SIMPLY WILL NOT GO OR IT WILL JUST GO A LITTLE AND THEN PAUSE AND I WILL BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THEN IT WILL JERK AND TAKE OFF WITHOUT WARNING. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. IT IS A LEASE SO I CANNOT EVEN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IF I BOUGHT IT I CAN ASSURE YOU, I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN RID OF IT BY NOW. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. AFTER SHIFTING GEARS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION, IT HAD TO BE SHIFTED INTO PARK, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WARNING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. ....UPDATED 08/08/16 *BF CONSUMER STATED IN MOST CASES IF THE CONSUMER RESTARTS TJE CAR 3-5 TIMES. IT WILL EVENTUALLY BEGIN TO MOVE. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO WAIT UP TO A MINUTE FOR IT TO SETTLE DOWN SO I CAN PUT IN INTO DRIVE (ORIGINAL ISSUE THAT ONLY SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN EXACERBATED FROM THE SOFTWARE UPDATE). -RPMS SPIKE WHEN DOWNSHIFTING CAUSING A SLIGHT ACCELERATION -SPEEDS UP WITHOUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL -LURCHES FORWARD 90% OF THE TIME WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, THIS IS UNSAFE IN TRAFFIC CONDITIONS -LURCHES FORWARD WHEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE. -STICKS IN PARK, DRIVE OR REVERSE. THE CONSUMER REPORTED MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES (25 IN TOTAL) OF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS THAT OCCURRED AT VARIOUS DATES AND MILEAGES. *DSY 10/7/15

THE VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP OR ACCELERATING FROM A TURN OR OTHER SLOWING. WHEN I ADD POWER THE VEHICLE WILL LURCH FORWARD SOMETIMES SQUEALING THE TIRES. THIS IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN TURNING LEFT AHEAD OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE HESITATES WHILE ACCELERATING TO PASS OR MERGE INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE HAS BEEN UPDATED BUT THE PROBLEM WAS MADE WORSE. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED BY JEEP/CHRYSLER BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINS. THE CHRYSLER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE IS DESIGNED TO NOT SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR UNLESS IT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO "BOG DOWN" WHEN COMING OUT OF A TURN. THIS IS VERY TROUBLING WHEN TURNING LEFT AHEAD OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE NATURAL REACTION IS TO ADD POWER. THIS CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR AND LURCH THE VEHICLE FORWARD. I'VE MADE A COMPLAINT THRU THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE CENTER. AFTER ANOTHER VISIT TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD "THE VEHICLE IS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED." IF THAT IS THE CASE THEN WHY DID THEY REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION? THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
VEHICLE LUNGES AND OR JERKS FORWARD NEARING AND OR AT A COMPLETE STOP. IT HAPPENS THE MAJORITY OF DRIVING TIME AND HAS BEEN IN THE JEEP DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES.
I'VE HAD THE COMPUTER RECALL UPDATE. WHEN DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION WILL JERK AND MAKE A LOUD NOISE THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND CAN HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME I DRIVE BUT HAPPENS ENOUGH TO BE A CONCERN.
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 4 MONTHS AND EVERY 3 WEEKS I HAVE TO RETURN IT FOR SERVICE DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION, 4X4 AND TRACTION CONTROL NOT WORKING. STARTS OFF IN 3RD - 4TH GEAR AT ANY GIVEN TIME (ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES), WILL ACCELERATE AND SURGE FORWARD DURING DOWN SHIFTING WHILE STOPPING (ALMOST HIT SEVERAL DIFFERENT VEHICLES) AND NOW SURGES TO 7000RPM WHEN TURNING RIGHT AND PARKING BREAK HAS LOCKED UP 3 DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE IN GEAR. 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS DON'T KNOW WHAT TO FIX BECAUSE IT DOESN'T REGISTER ANY CODES, THEY ALSO TELL ME THAT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM ON ALL 9 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS THEY MAKE, NOT JUST THE ONE'S IN JEEPS. BUT SINCE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO FIX AND THEREFORE ITS NOT AN ISSUE AND I HAVE TO TAKE MY UNPREDICTABLE AND UNSAFE VEHICLE HOME AND NOT THE LOANER BECAUSE JEEP WILL NOT PAY FOR IT. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP WHO ASSIGNED ME A "RESOLUTION CASE MANAGER" WHO WILL NO LONGER RETURN MY PHONE CALLS FOR BUY BACK OR TRADING FOR A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. IS THAT THEIR RESOLUTION, BLOW EVERYONE OFF AND HOPE WE ALL GO AWAY?? WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY? WHY ARE THEY STILL KNOWINGLY SELLING THESE VEHICLES WITH NO KNOW FIX? HOW LONG BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED? THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH INFORMATION THAT I HAVE READ ON THIS PAGE YET THERE IS NO ACTION? ISN'T THAT WHAT THIS SITE IS FOR? ACTION?
THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INSTANCES OF SLOW RESPONSE FROM THE TRANSMISSION. HEADING SOUTH AT A HIGHWAY INTERSECTION WHERE CROSS TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP, I WAITED AT THE STOP SIGN UNTIL TRAFFIC WAS CLEAR TO THE EAST. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND DIDN'T GET MUCH RESPONSE UNTIL TRAFFIC WAS CLOSE ENOUGH THAT I DEBATED ABOUT NOT CROSSING AND THE CAR SUDDENLY MOVED INTO THE LANES OF TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO CROSS TO THE DIVIDER BEFORE BEING BROADSIDED BECAUSE TRAFFIC SLOWED FOR ME. ANOTHER INCIDENT INVOLVES PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I LIVE ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY SO I AM VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN I PULL OUT. AS I TURNED RIGHT FROM MY DRIVEWAY MY CAR DIDN'T DO MORE THAN CREEP ALONG EVEN THOUGH IT HAD GONE DOWN THE DRIVE JUST FINE. I GOT THE RPM UP TO 6 ON THE GAUGE (7 IS RED) WHEN IT SUDDENLY "CAUGHT" AND TOOK OFF. A CAR THAT HAD BEEN A LONG DISTANCE BACK CAME VERY CLOSE TO REAR-ENDING ME. ON ANOTHER OCCASION AS I PULLED UP BEHIND A CAR AT A LIGHT, MY CAR WAS STOPPING AND THEN SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. I HADN'T STOPPED BRAKING OR PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR. I WOULD HAVE HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME IF I HADN'T BEEN LEAVING A FAIR AMOUNT OF ROOM BETWEEN US. THE VARIABILITY AND UNPREDICTABILITY OF THIS CAR IS WHAT MAKES IT SO DANGEROUS. IT HAS SMALL ISSUES LIKE DIFFICULTY CLIMBING HILLS ON OCCASION OR JUMPING WHEN IT SHIFTS DURING NORMAL DRIVING BUT I HAVE CHANGED MY ROUTES (CHOOSE STOPLIGHTS TO CROSS HIGHWAYS) AND DRIVING STYLE (LEAVE LOTS OF ROOM BETWEEN IT AND OTHER CARS) TO ACCOMMODATE DAILY INCONVENIENCE.

THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
PURCHASED THE 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE IN MARCH. HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO THE RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW AND NOT SHIFT PROPERLY, IT WOULD ALSO LURCH AND STALL AND SHIFT VERY CLUNKY. 9/21 - HAD THE RECALLS TAKEN CARE OF AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD SOLVE THE ISSUES. 9/22 - DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHES AND THEN STOPS. THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION, CHECK ENGINE AND EMERGENCY BRAKE WERE ALL FLASHING. I ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED AND WAS IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF ON THE FREEWAY TO "REBOOT" IT AS IT WAS STUCK IN A PARKED POSITION BUT NOT POWERED OFF. 9/24 - EN ROUTE TO GET THE CAR SERVICED, I WAS ON THE FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC, IT LURCHES AND STOPPED AGAIN, THIS TIME CAUSING ME TO REAR-END THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME.
UNDER ACCELERATION FROM A STOP (EITHER STRAIGHT LINE OR MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN) THE RPMS INCREASE BEFORE THE VEHICLE RESPONDS. WHEN IT DOES, THE VEHICLE LUNGES FORWARD UNPREDICTABLY. DURING MANUAL SHIFTING AND BRAKING (WHILE IN MOTION) THE RPMS SHOOT UP TO BEFORE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES 4TH GEAR WHEN DOWNSHIFTING FROM 5TH CAUSING A MOMENTARY FREEWHEELING SCENARIO. DURING ACCELERATION FROM ABOUT 10-15 MPH THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN INCREASES RPMS AND THEN LUNGES FORWARD. THE VEHICLE PERFORMS HARD SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS WHILE IN MOTION. MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING NOT EVEN A FULL WEEK OF OWNING IT. THE VEHICLE GAUGES GO TO ZERO AND I LOOSE POWER STEERING AND WHEN I APPLY THE GAS PEDAL NOTHING HAPPENS. AFTER SITTING ON SIDE OF ROAD I RESTARTED CAR AND ERRORS CLEARED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SEVERAL TIMES AND TAKEN TO DEALER 4 TIMES. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I HAVE BEEN PUT IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS.

A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY IT IS WORSE AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE SO I HAVE YET TO NOTIFY THE DEALERSHIP OF THIS ISSUE. FROM WHAT I CAN TELL, THEY REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIGURE THIS OUT FASTER THEN WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW BECAUSE SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED OR GET SERIOUSLY HURT.

HE WAS STOPPED WAITING FOR THE CAR AHEAD OF HIM TO TURN. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WAS CHARGED WITH FAILING TO STOP IN AN ASSURED CLEAR DISTANCE. THE SUN WAS BRIGHT AND I SEEN NO BRAKE OR TURN SIGNALS. THE FRONT END OF MY 10 DAY OLD VEHICLE SUSTAINED OVER 8600 DOLLARS IN DAMAGE SO FAR. MY CONCERN IS WHY DID THE AIR BAGS NOT GO OFF AT 50 MPH WHEN I HIT THE BACK OF HIS 2012 BUICK? I WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO BE CHECKED OUT AS THE SEAT BELT HURT MY CHEST AND POSSIBLE BROKEN FINGER. LATER THAT NIGHT I RETURNED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR A HEAD CT AND CHEST XRAY FOR DIZZINESS AND HEADACHES. THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE TRAFFIC HAS BEEN STOP AND GO SINCE THE SCHOOLS REOPENED TWO WEEKS EARLIER. SINCE I SPEND MORE TIME IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, THE TRANSMISSION NUMBER OF HESITATION AND LURCHING EVENTS HAVE SKYROCKETED. MOST RECENTLY THE VEHICLE LURCHES VIOLENTLY FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATING AND SLOWING DOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH. THE SEVERITY OF THE LURCH HAS INCREASED AND THE LAST EVEN THREW MY HEAD FORWARD ENOUGH TO STRAIN MY NECK RESULTING IN SEVERAL DAYS OF SORENESS. THIS TRANSMISSION IS BEYOND QUIRKY AND IN MY OPINION POSES A THREAT TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS AS WELL AS OTHER VEHICLES DIRECTLY IN FROM OF IT. THE VEHICLE IS AWAITING DIAGNOSTICS AT THE DEALERSHIP WHO ADVISED THEY ARE WAITING FOR A DECISION FROM CORPORATE WHETHER TO SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION OR REPLACE IT COMPLETELY. I OPTED NOT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE OR CASH EQUIVALENT OF $3,000 ON THE VALUE MY CAR WOULD DROP UPON RESELL FOR OWNING A POOR QUALITY CAR WITH KNOWN AND WELL PUBLICIZED DEFECTS FOR BOTH TRANSMISSION AND INTERNET SECURITY.

AT THAT TIME OUR RV BEGAN TO ROCK, ALERTING US TO THE POSSIBILITY THAT WE HAD BLOWN A TIRE. WHILE ASSESSING THE SITUATION WE SAW IN OUR REAR CAMERA THAT THE JEEP WAS ROCKING VIOLENTLY, WHICH WAS ALSO WITNESSED BY THE CHP OFFICER THAT FOLLOWED US TO SAFETY.THE TIRES WERE FINE, BUT THE JEEP'S VIOLENT ROCKING WAS ENOUGH TO SCATTER THE CONTENTS OF THE CAR. WE DETACHED THE JEEP WITH A GREAT DEAL OF DIFFICULTY AFTER THE AMOUNT OF TWISTING THAT OCCURRED DURING THE BOUNCING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ALSO ACTIVATED. WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE THE JEEP TO AN AREA THAT ALLOWED US TO RE-ATTACH THE TOW GEAR AND CONTINUE TO OUR DESTINATION.

ALSO HAVING OCCASIONAL PROBLEMS WITH SLUGGISH ACCELERATION PARTICULARLY WHEN TURNING. ALSO CONTINUE TO HAVE LOUD CREAKING FROM SUNROOF WHICH IS JUST GETTING WORSE. SCARED TO DRIVE VEHICLE AS AM AFRAID IT SIMPLY WON'T ACCELERATE ONE OF THESE TIMES. HEAVEN FORBID IT IS IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WITH A LEFT TURN. VEHICLE IS NOT RELIABLE, HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO FAITH IN IT.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON A THURSDAY MORNING, THE SAME ROUTE I ALWAYS TAKE, I AM VERY FIMILAIR WITH THE RAOD AND TRAFFIC IN THIS AREA BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT FOR THE LAST SEVEN YEARS STRAIGHT. WELL ON MY WAY, I GOT INTO A ACCIDENT, MY NEW JEEP HAS BEEN INTO THE SHOP A FEW TIMES FOR A RECALL, I HAVE ONLY HAD THE JEEP FOR 7 MONTHS AND HAVE HAD TO BRING IT IN 2 TIMES AND NOW A 3RD FOR AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT ISSUE. ANYWAY, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND MY JEEP DOES THIS THING WHERE IT FEELS LIKE IT SHUTS OFF WHEN I AM STOPPED AND TURNS BACK ON WHEN I BEGIN TO MOVE, I NOTICED IT WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE JEEP WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALER, THEY TOLD ME IT IS SUPPOSE TO DO THAT BECAUSE OF THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, I SAID OK FINE I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE I WAS SAFE BECAUSE THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS I PURCHASED THIS CAR. WELL ON THE WAY TO WORK, MY JEEP DID JUST THAT BUT LATELY IT IS DOING A JERKING MOVE WHEN IT STARTS TO ACCELARTE NOW, MAKING IT FEEL LIKE MY CAR IS JERKING AND ACCERATING ON ITS OWN WHICH RESULTED IN MY HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. NOW THE JEEP WAS NOT GOING AT A FAST SPEED AT ALL, I AM VERY FAMILAIR WITH THE LOCATION SO I PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL HERE. I FELT MY JEEP DO THE JERK MOVEMENT AND WITH MY ACCERATION I AM CERTAIN THIS IS WHAT CAUSED ME TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, I THINK THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG HERE AND THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
FIVE TIMES, TRANSMISSION HAD SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AT AN INTERSECTION, EMERGENCY BRAKE GOES ON, DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP AND LAST TIME HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. JEEP FINALLY RECALLED IT IN AUGUST, BUT HAVE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX IT.
