THE JEEP SHIFTS UNEXPECTEDLY ALL OF THE TIME. WHEN YOU USE THE BRAKE GOING DOWN A HILL THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS AND THE RPMS SHOOT TO 5,000! THE TRANSMISSION SHIMMIES WHEN YOU ARE IN SECOND GEAR. I HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE IT FIXED BUT THEY SAY IT NEEDS AN UPDATE FROM JEEP FOR THE FLASH OR SOMETHING WITH A CHIP. THEY CAN'T GET IT TO SHIFT NORMALLY.
CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PUSHING ON GAS, GETS STUCK IN GEAR AND THEN WHEN IT FINALLY FINS THE RIGHT GEAR THE WHOLE VEHICLE BUCKS. REPORTED THE PROBLEM IN JANUARY, WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR THE RECALL UPDATE, WHICH DIDN'T HAPPEN UNTIL JUNE. HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN 2 MORE TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST BE IN A NUMBER OR ACCIDENTS WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ON TO HIGHWAYS OR PASS SOMEONE ON THE HIGHWAY. IN ANOTHER INCIDENT MY SUNROOF EXPLODED FROM THE INSIDE OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND JEEP IS REFUSING TO COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH NOTHING HIT THE VEHICLE AND THERE ARE OTHER REPORTS ONLINE OF THIS HAPPENING.
HAVE HAD SEVERAL TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND I FEEL UNSAFE IN MY VEHICLE. TRANSMISSION SHAKES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A LOW GEAR; TRANSMISSION STICKS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATING (LEAVING ME IN DANGEROUS TRAFFIC SITUATIONS); TRANSMISSION SHIFT HARD WHEN DRIVING IN THE CITY.
THE HEATING ELEMENT IN THE WINDSHIELD SHORTED CAUSING EXTREME HEAT AND THE ELEMENT WAS GLOWING. THIS CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO BREAK. PIECES OF SHATTERED GLASS WERE INSIDE THE CAR ON THE CENTER CONSOLE AS WELL AS ON THE DASH. BOTH PANES OF GLASS WERE CRACKED, BUT ONLY THE INSIDE SEEMED TO "EXPLODE" CAUSING A CHUCK OF GLASS TO SHOOT LOOSE. THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY A SAFELITE EMPLOYEE WITH 29 YEARS EXPERIENCE. *TR
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUES. SHIFTING OUT OF A STANDSTILL THROUGH THE FIRST FEW GEARS IS EXTREMELY ROUGH. OCCASIONAL LURCHING DURING DOWNSHIFTING. SPENT 6 WEEKS AT DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG "THAT'S JUST HOW A 9SPEED TRANSMISSION FEELS". CANNOT BE CORRECT. THIS FEELS UNRESPONSIVE AND DANGEROUS AT TIMES. VERY UNHAPPY. ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN DEC. 2014

NEW JEEP CHEROKEE 2015 VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED EVENING JAN 2, 2015 FROM. PERRY CHRYSLER/JEEP, NATIONAL CITY, CA. DRIVEN TOTAL LESS THAN 100 MILES. ON JAN 4 DRIVER NOTICED OILY SMELL WHEN DRIVING. IMMEDIATELY AFTER BEING PARKED AT HOME WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT OF HOOD. WITHIN SECONDS THE ENTIRE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FIRE, FLAMES 20 FEET HIGH. BURNING OIL OR FUEL RAN DOWN THE STREET OVER 50 YARDS. TWO LOCAL SAN DIEGO TV STATIONS HAVE VIDEOS OF FIRE, INCLUDING OUR OWN VIDEO ON FACEBOOK. AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. *TR
200 MILES FROM HOME, I WAS ASCENDING AN APPROXIMATELY 8 MILE, 2 LANE,15 DEGREE HILL. AT ABOUT 5 MILES UP THE HILL I TRIED TO PASS A DOUBLE SEMI PROCEEDING UP HILL AT LESS THEN 10 MPH. I PUSHED DOWN ON THE GAS, AND GOT HALF THE WAY AROUND THE TRUCK, AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, LEAVING ME ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. I HAD NO PLACE TO GO, AND I COULD NOW SEE ONCOMING TRAFFIC COMING DIRECTLY AT ME. WITH THE GEAR LEVER IN DRIVE, THERE IS NO EMERGENCY OR PARKING BRAKE, AS IT IS ELECTRONIC, AND WITH THE CAR MOVING, YOU CANNOT ACCESS THE PARK POSITION. I WAS STANDING ON THE BRAKES, BUT GETTING ALMOST NO REACTION. FINALLY, I GOT BEHIND THE TRUCK, I STOOD ON THE BRAKES AND GOT AS FAR RIGHT AS POSSIBLE, AND GOT THE CAR TO STOP. WHEN I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASH, A WARNING MESSAGE INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD OVERHEATED. THIS APPARENTLY IS WHAT TRIGGERED THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN. INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AND STUPID ENGINEERING. KILL THE OCCUPANTS, SAVE THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS BLOCKING THE RIGHT LANE BUT HAD TO SIT THERE FOR 30 MINUTES UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION CAME BACK TO OPERATING TEMP. STARTED THE CAR AND PROCEEDED UP HILL. NO POSSIBLE PLACE TO TURN AROUND. WITHIN 5 MINUTES, THE TRANSMISSION TEMP. WAS GETTING CRITICALLY HOT, FOUND A PULL OFF AND CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. AT DEALER 5 HOURS LATER. THEY SAID THEY COULD FIX CAR BY RECALIBRATING THE COMPUTER CONTROL TO TRANSMISSION. THEY DID THE WORK THE NEXT DAY. THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED AGAIN WITHIN 5 MILES OF A TEST RIDE. THE DEALER SHIP CLOSED AT 2 PM AND LEFT ME STANDING THERE. COST OVER $600 FOR HOTEL AND TAXI RIDE HOME. THE SELLING DEALER TRUCKED THE JEEP BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, AS A DEFECTIVELY MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION AND AGREED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. A MONTH LATER, I GOT THE CAR BACK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CAR. *TR
I HAVE OWNED THIS 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE SINCE DECEMBER 2014. THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED @ 1890 MILES, CAR STOPPED DEAD TRYING TO PASS A TRUCK ON STEEP GRADE, OVERHEATED TRANSMISSION. THE POWER BRAKE MASTER BOOSTER HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE, @ 2490 MILES AND 4920 MILES, NO BRAKES JUST CRASH INTO NEAREST CURB OR CAR, PART AND SYSTEM FAILURE. THE TRANSMISSION MOUNTS HAD TO BE REPLACED @ 2560 MILES, CAR HOWLING LIKE A BANCHEE, PARTS FAILURE. THE SOFTWARE HAD TO BE CHANGED 3 TIMES, "TRYING TO SOLVE FACTORY PROBLEM". WARNING LIGHTS FOR CHECK ENGINE AND BATTERY CAME ON AND CAR SHUTTERED AND CAME TO ABRUPT STOP, IN THE MIDDLE OF A DANGEROUS CURVE, WITH ALL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY @ 4970 MILES, CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING CAUSE. THE CAR HAS BEEN WITH THE DEALER, IN TOTAL, MORE THAN 45 DAYS, CURRENTLY AT DEALER AGAIN. THIS CAR HAS LEFT ME IN LIFE THREATENING SITUATIONS 4 TIMES. IT APPEARS THAT WHEN ANY PREPROGRAMED LIMITS ARE REACHED, ALL SYSTEMS SHUT DOWN, BRAKES, STEERING, EVERYTHING. YOU ARE LEFT TOTALLY DEFENSELESS AND NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THE JEEP HAS NO EMERGENCY BRAKE! THIS IS THE MOST UNRELIABLE AND DANGEROUS VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. I HAVE BEEN TOTALLY STRANDED AWAY FROM HOME TWICE, AND HAVE YET TO RECOVER OVER $1000.00 IN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE, TRANSPORTATION, HOTEL, FOOD, AND CABS. THE DEALER CLOSED AT 2PM ON A SATURDAY, 280 MILES FROM HOME, SAID GOOD BY AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT CHRYSLER FOR ASSISTANCE, " IT WASN'T HIS RESPONSIBILITY". ALL 2014 AND 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE SHOULD BE RECALLED AND TAKEN OFF THE ROAD. THIS POORLY CONCEIVED AND ENGINEERED VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND WILL KILL MANY PEOPLE, IF IT ALREADY HAS NOT. THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION AND ITS DEALERS ARE KNOWINGLY SELLING A FAULTY AND DANGEROUS VEHICLE TO THE PUBLIC.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR BETWEEN 22-25 MPH HIGHWAY OR STREET THERE IS ALWAYS A LUNGING/RPM SPIKE/HARD SHIFT THAT ACCELERATES THE CAR WHEN SLOWING DOWN. THIS ALSO HAPPENS AT 8, 30,35,40,45,50,55MPH. IT IS NOT NEARLY AS BAD AS THE MAJOR ISSUE BETWEEN 22-25MPH.
2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE. WHEN COMING TO A STOP, AT ABOUT 25 MPH, THE TACHOMETER READS 1250 RPM THEN THE TRANSMISSION DROPS OUT OF GEAR WHICH MAKES THE VEHICLE SPEED UP, MAKING ME BRAKE HARDER, THEN THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS AND THE ENGINE REVS UP TO 2000 RPM MAKING THE CAR LURCH FORWARD. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND HAS MADE ME FEEL LIKE I MAY REAR END A CAR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. *TR

THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING DOWNHILL AND RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE JEEP IS BAD AND EXACTLY ENGINE, ELECTRICAL, FUEL PROPULSION SYSTEM, AND ATHER THINGS,
I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I HAS BEEN ON FOR THE ENTIRE TIME I HAVE HAD IT. THEY HAVE SAID IT WAS INTAKE MANIFOLD BOLTS LOOSE AND SEVERAL PROGRAM UPDATES. THIS LAST TIME THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE USED 5 DIFFERENT FUELS AND THE LIGHT STAYS ON. THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE SURGING WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND AT A STOP LIGHT.
2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD IT'S FIRST OIL CHANGE IN JANUARY OF 2015. AFTER 146 MILES, THE OIL WAS ONE QUART LOW. THE CONSUMER ADDS 1-2 QUARTS BETWEEN REGULAR OIL CHANGES. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO HAVE TO VEHICLE EXCHANGED FOR V-6. *JS
AS I WAS GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE WAS DOWN SHIFTING, AND AS IT GOT TO THE LOWER GEARS, STARTED GETTING VERY JUMPY. WHEN IT GOT TO FIRST GEAR, IT SEEMED THAT IT DOWNSHIFTED ALL THE WAY INTO NEUTRAL. WHEN STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP, THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP INTO FIRST GEAR AND WAS JUMPY SHIFTING UP GEARS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY ALSO SAID IT WAS STILL DRIVABLE. I WAS OUT OF TOWN AT THE TIME SO I JUST PLANNED TO TAKE IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER WHEN I GOT HOME, AS THEY SAID IT WOULD BE ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS AVAILABLE. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND DIDN'T MAKE IT MORE THAN A MILE BEFORE I LOST ALL USE OF THE TRANSMISSION, AND HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
THE JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK IS EQUIPPED WITH HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS MOUNTED LOW ON THE FRONT OF THE CHEROKEE. THESE HEADLIGHTS DO A TERRIBLE JOB OF LIGHTING THE ROAD IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THEY ARE BOTH DIM AND DO NOT SHINE THE LIGHT FAR ENOUGH AHEAD OF THE VEHICLE. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA AND AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE THERE ARE ALWAYS ANIMALS CROSSING THE ROAD. THE HIGH BEAMS SHINE ABOUT AS FAR AS THE LOW BEAMS ON MY OTHER CAR. I FEEL LIKE I AM DRIVING A CAR WITH HEADLIGHTS FROM THE 1960S.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THEY LOOKED OUT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND SAW A GLOW COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE AS THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT AND ALL DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER SAFELY AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT FLAMES WERE EMITTING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND SHORTLY AFTER THE ENTIRE VEHICLE ENGULFED IN FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT DIAGNOSED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,300.
ON GOING DOCUMENT ISSUES WITH THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THERE IS JERKINESS, HESITATION, STALLING DURING ACCELERATION FROM A STOPPED POSITION. THERE IS ALSO HARD SHIFTS, LUNGING, AND UNEXPECTED DISENGAGEMENT. TRANSMISSION CONTINUES IN LOW GEARS WANTING TO SHIFT BUT DOES NOT CAUSING INCREASED RPM'S AND UNCERTAINTIES.
WHILE BRAKING AT 24 MILES PER HOUR THE CAR ABRUPTLY DOWNSHIFTS AND CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE NOTICED THE LONGER I DRIVE THE VEHICLE, IT WILL HAPPEN WHILE I AM SLOWING DOWN AT HIGHER SPEEDS AT WELL. I HAVE TAKEN THE JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE FLASHED AND UPDATED MY TRANSMISSION BUT THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED BUT IT WAS NOT. IT IS ACTING UP MORE THAN IT WAS BEFORE. IT IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS CAR ESPECIALLY WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE AROUND A CURVE BECAUSE IT WILL SPEED UP BY ITSELF. *TR

ON TAKE OFF OR TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT TAKING OFF FROM A STOP SIGN THE JEEP SHAKES FROM SIDE TO SIDE THE DEALER REPLACED A FRONT BAR ON THE RIGHT SIDE STILL SHAKES TOOK IT IN 3 TIMES THE DEALER JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM! PERIODIC UNUSUAL REVVING IN LOWER GEARS WHILE ACCELERATING. VEHICLE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR "FLASH" AND MULTIPLE RE-ASSESSMENT BUT DEALER STATES VEHICLE PERFORMS AS "DESIGNED". DEALERSHIP STATES MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME REASON BY OTHER CUSTOMERS. CASE WORKERS FROM FCA OFFERED TRANSMISSION WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR LIFE BUT RETRACTED OFFER AFTER IT WAS FOUND WE HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY. CASE WORKER THEN OFFERED 2 YEARS WORTH OF OIL CHANGES. THE OFFER WAS REFUSED SO COMPLAINT HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR THE SECOND TIME.

VEHICLE PURCHASED END OF AUGUST, NOTICED HARD SHIFTING AND RPM SURGE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. SOFTWARE UPDATE IN DECEMBER, BY THE END OF FEB. VEHICLE WAS GOING INTO WHAT THE DEALER TERMED AS LIMP MODE, SERVICE ENGINE AND TRANS. INDICATORS LOSS OF POWER, PARKING BRAKE COMES ON ETC. TRANSMISSION REPLACED IN MARCH AT 5000 MILES. SINCE THEN THE VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERAL SOFTWARE UPDATES TO NO AVAIL. DEALER CURRENTLY HAS HAD VEHICLE FOR 10 DAYS TO REPLACE VALVE BODY AND A HARNESS. ACURAS WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS HAVE SUPPOSEDLY BEEN RECALLED. WHY HASN'T CHRYSLER DONE THE SAME BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM WOULD ERRONEOUSLY ACTIVATE EACH TIME THE DRIVER'S FOOT WAS TAKEN OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, FOLLOWED BY A WARNING CHIME. WHEN THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR, THE TRANSMISSION COULD NOT BE USED IN REVERSE. WHAT MADE ME TAKE TO THE DEALER WAS I NOTICED THAT WHEN COMING TO A STOP, THE RPMS OF THE ENGINE WILL INCREASE AND CAUSE THE CAR TO START GOING FASTER WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES. SO I TOOK TO THE DEALER. DEALER DID NOT INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. THEY PREFORMED SOFTWARE UPDATES. NONE FIXED THE ISSUE. TIME PASSED, THE JEEP STARTED TO DEVELOP MORE NOISES IN THE TRANSMISSION, IT STARTED TO PUT GEARS HARSHLY SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN AFTER IT CONTINUED TO DO THE SAME ISSUES. DEALER CLAIMED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH UPDATES. NEW TRANSMISSION AND SAME ISSUES. AT THESE TWO TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS AT A FULL STOP AND THE DASH WAS FULL OF WARNING LIGHTS FOR DIFFERENT THINGS. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO PARK, THERE WAS A LOUD AND VIOLENT JERKING BY THE TRANSMISSION. THIS TRANSMISSION HAS HAD IT'S SOFTWARE UPDATED MANY TIMES, WHICH HAS NOT HELPED. DEALER TECH WAS ABLE TO OBSERVE THIS CONDITION AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY. AFTER REPLACING THE VALVE BODY AND AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 50 MILES ON A INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING CAME ON. TOOK THE NEXT EXIT AND STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC STOPLIGHT, THE CAR WOULD LUNGE AND JERK VIOLENTLY TRYING TO GO. SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND LET THE CAR RESET ITSELF. WILL NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND WILL ASK CHRYSLER TO SUPPLY A RENTAL VEHICLE AT THEIR EXPENSE UNTIL THEY HAVE REPLACED MY VEHICLE. I BOUGHT THE CAR MID OCTOBER 2014 AND BEGAN NOTICING IT DID NOT SHIFT PROPERLY - WOULD "HANG UP" IN LOWER GEAR WHEN IT SHOULD SHIFT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (MILEAGE APRX 2,500) WHICH SAID IT WAS "THROWING CODES" SO THEY ADJUSTED THE TRANSMISSION. THIS STILL DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE SO I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG BUT DID MAKE A MINOR ADJUSTMENT BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. AT APRX 5,700 MILES THEY PUT A NEW TRANSMISSION IN THE VEHICLE (PROBABLY MAY 2015). IN JUNE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO FALTER WHEN IT WAS TRYING TO SHIFT AND WHILE DRIVING (HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED) AND, WHILE SITTING AT STOP LIGHTS IT WOULD SURGE FORWARD WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ADJUSTED IT TWICE SINCE THEN. THE DEALERSHIP HAS OFFERED TO SELL THE CAR AT AUCTION FOR ME AND JEEP WANTS TO SEND IN A "STAR REPAIR" TEAM TO WORK ON THE VEHICLE SOME MORE. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR ALREADY WORKED ON 5 TIMES AND NO ONE HAS A CLUE OF WHAT TO DO TO REPAIR IT. IT IS DANGEROUS IN THAT WHEN YOU PULL INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR FALTERS/STALLS OUT IT CAN CREATE A POTENTIAL WRECK OR WHEN IT THE ENGINE SURGES ON ITS OWN A RISK OF RUNNING INTO SOMETHING EXISTS. MANY TIMES I HAVE HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE TO AVOID GETTING HIT. ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING ON THE EXPRESSWAY WHEN HITTING THE GAS, THE VEHICLE PAUSES BEFORE ACCELERATING. THIS ALSO HAS CAUSED NEAR COLLISIONS WITH OTHER VEHICLES DUE TO THE LONG PAUSE BEFORE FINALLY ACCELERATING. I HAVE TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEM EVERYTIME I GO THERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THEY HAVE UPDATED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM MANY TIMES WITH NO RESULTS ON FIXING THE PROBLEM, THEY TELL ME THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE. THE 9-SPEED TRANSMISSION HAS A LOT OF PROBLEMS I AM TOLD, AND THEY STILL HAVE YET TO FIND A REAL SOLUTION. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED THINKING THEY CAN PULL OUT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC ONLY TO FIND THE VEHICLE HAS A LONG HESITATION BEFORE ACCELERATING. TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP WHILE IN 3RD GEAR RESULTS IN SIGNIFICANT DELAY IN POWER. THIS HESITATION IS SIMILAR TO STALLING WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. JEEP HAS STATED THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND THAT YOU MUST ALWAYS COME TO A COMPLETE EXTENDED STOP BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION WILL DOWN SHIFT. THIS IS NOT FEASIBLE WHEN A COMPLETE STOP IS NOT NECESSARY OR REQUIRED LIKE WHEN A LIGHT CHANGES TO GREEN WHEN YOU ARE COMING TO A STOP, OR YOU ARE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC WITH A YIELD SIGN. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN, OR IS ALREADY RESULTING IN ACCIDENTS THAT ARE CLASSIFIED AS YOUR VEHICLE DIDN'T YIELD TO RIGHT OF WAY, EVEN THOUGH THIS STALL LIKE SCENARIO IS THE PRIMARY CONTRIBUTOR.

TO FIX WITH THE 2014 MODEL & SUBSEQUENT MODELS AFTER THAT. I HAVE A BRAND NEW 2015 MODEL AND THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY ADDRESSED & FIXED AT ALL. IT?S OBVIOUS THAT THE PROPER AMOUNT OF QA WAS NOT DONE IF THIS IS STILL HAPPENING. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON THE CAR STILL HAD IT WARNING LIGHTS ON THE RPM'S WERE HIGH AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. I WAS TOLD THERE WERE PROGRAM ERRORS AND THE CAR WAS FIXED. MARCH 17 THE CAR STARTS MAKING A HUMMING SOUND. MARCH 18 ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER I STOPPED AT IN INTERSECTION STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE CAR JUST CUT OUT ON ME. I WAS STRANDED IN AN INTERSECTION. CALLED THE DEALER WHO TOLD ME TO TURN IT OFF THEN ON, WHICH I DID THE CAR MOVED SLIGHTLY RPM'S WERE HIGH, CAR WAS NOT ACCELERATING PROPERLY. THE CAR VIOLENTLY JERKED WHEN I ENGAGED INTO PARK OR DRIVE. .I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CAR IS AT THE DEALER AND HAS BEEN THERE FOR 8 DAYS. I FEEL THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I AM FRIGHTENED FOR MY SAFETY AND MY FAMILY.UNDER OHIO LAW IT HAS MET THE STANDARDS OF THE LEMON LAW. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION LUNGES WON'T SHIFT RIGHT BANGS, SOMETIMES THE RPM WILL RAISE QUITE A BIT THEN BANG INTO GEAR IT JURKY WHEN SHIFTING SOMETIMES THE RPM WILL RAISE TO ALMOST 3000 BEFOR SHIFTING.THE JEEP HAS 11500 MILES ON IT I HAD THE JEEP INTO THE DEALER AFTER FIRST COUPLE MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER ABOUT 4 OR 5 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM LAST MONDAY WAS THE LAST TIME RIGHT NOW I HAVE A JEEP CUSTOMER REP AND SHE WANTS ME TO TAKE IT BACK IN WEDNESDAY MAY 18 TO HAVE A TECH RID ALONG AGAIN THE DEALER SAYS THEY KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEMS BUT THEIR IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNTIL CHRYSLER HAS FIXES FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE.
THE POWERTRAIN IS FREQUENTLY UNRESPONSIVE AND THERE IS OFTEN A SIGNIFICANT LAG TIME BETWEEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AND RECEIVING ANY RESPONSE FROM THE POWERTRAIN WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A FULL STOP. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE RESPONDS IMMEDIATELY BUT OTHER TIMES IT FEELS AS IF IT CAN TAKE A FULL SECOND OR MORE FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESPOND. WHILE THIS IS NOT A BIG ISSUE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT, THIS HAS BECOME A SIGNIFICANT ISSUE WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE COUNTED ON TO RESPOND AND BEGIN ACCELERATING IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE HAS RESPONDED THAT PROBLEM MAY BE MY DRIVING OR MY INEXPERIENCE WITH THE ACTIVE ASSIST II TRANSMISSION, BUT MY PREVIOUS CAR WAS A HYBRID, I KNOW ABOUT ENGINES STOPPING AT SIGNALS. NEVERTHELESS, THE CAR STALLS LESS IF I DISABLE THE ACTIVE ASSIST EVERY TIME THE ENGINE STARTS, ALTHOUGH NOT COMPLETELY. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY REPROGRAMMED THE SYSTEM BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.
I PURCHASED A 2015 CHEROKEE SPORT IN OCTOBER 2014. SINCE THEN I HAVE NOTED SEVERAL RECURRING PROBLEMS. HAVING NEVER OWNED A BRAND NEW I THOUGHT PERHAPS THERE WAS SOME EARLY MILE GROWING PAINS BUT THESE PROBLEMS PERSIST. THE SCREEN MALFUNCTIONS AT WILL; SOMETIME THE REAR CAMERA IS ENGAGED WHEN DRIVING FORWARD, THE SCREEN LOCKS ON THE DISCLOSURE/ACCEPTANCE PAGE. VOICE RECOGNITION/COMMAND HAS NEVER WORKED. UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHEN AT A COMPLETE STOP (REMINDS ME OF AN UNRULY DOG ON A LEASH TRYING TO LEAP FORWARD). DELAYED ACCELERATION WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED CAUSING IT TO SUDDENLY LEAP INTO MOTION RISKING HITTING A CAR IN FRONT OF YOU IN CITY TRAFFIC (I LIVE IN LOS ANGELES ? THIS IS PARTICULARLY CONCERNING) OR A WALL BEHIND YOU (I BACK INTO MY PARKING SPACE). WHEN PARALLEL PARKING OR IN A 3 POINT SCENARIO (D-R-D) THE CAR, ALTHOUGH CLEARLY PLACED IN THE REVERSE THE CAR WILL ROLL FORWARD BEFORE REVERSING. OFTEN PUTTING THE CAR IN REVERSE, WAITING SEVERAL SECONDS (4 TO 5) BEFORE RELEASING THE BREAK WILL DO THE TRICK BUT JUST AS OFTEN, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. GEAR TRANSITIONS ARE SLOPPY. THIS CAR DOES NOT SHIFT IT LUNGES. I'M SURPRISED THE [XXX] THING DOESN'T BITE ALTHOUGH IT TRIES. I THOUGHT THESE WERE MY PET PEEVES BUT IT APPEARS I AM NOT ALONE. I WISH I HAD READ THESE EARLIER COMPLAINTS. I WOULD HAVE RETURNED IT TO POST HASTE. I HATE THIS CAR BUT AM NOT IN THE FINANCIAL POSITION TO BUY ANOTHER. THE WHEELS WERE OUT OF DIRECTION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO (KEFFER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 8214 E INDEPENDENCE BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28227, (877) 406-5245) FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER AUTHORIZED A LOANER VEHICLE FOR THE DEALER TO FURTHER DIAGNOSE THE FAILURES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ELEMENT WAS OUT ON THE BATTERY AND THE MANUFACTURER COVERED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE BATTERY. THE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNSTABLE. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A CASE MANAGER, BUT THERE WAS NO PERMANENT SOLUTION YET. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
