FIRST OF ALL, THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I BOUGHT IT 6 WEEKS AGO AND IT HAS LESS THAN 3000K MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND IT SHUT DOWN/ STALLED OUT. HOW CAN A NEW VEHICLE JUST LOOSE POWER? THE DASHBOARD TOLD ME SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE JEEP SAT IN THE MEDIAN OF A 4 LANE BUSY HIGHWAY JUST RUNNING. IT TOOK AN HOUR FOR ROADSIDE SERVICE TO HAVE A TOW TRUCK TO COME TO ME. MY BABY, PUPPY AND I WERE JUST STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BAD STORM. JEEP KNOWS OF THIS. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CONSUMERS. NOW MY LIFE IS IN DANGER WITH THIS PIECE OF CRAP. CRAP THAT COSTS ME $26K! THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER TOLD ME I WAS HIS 4TH CUSTOMER TODAY WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE OTHERS WHO HAVE THIS EXACT MODEL. PLEASE DO NOT BUY! YOUR LIFE WILL BE IN JEOPARDY OR AT THE HANDS OF AN UNMERCIFUL COMPANY. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY DIDN'T EVEN WANT IT BACK. I'M JUST STUCK!

AND I IHAVE BEEN TOLD BY JEEP DEALER THE KIT IS NOT IN PRODUCTION AND CUSTOMER CHARGE IS $201.00 FOR PART + INSTALLATION. FIRST BECAME AWARE OF PROBLEM 4-28-16
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE IN REVERSE AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE RENTED VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. ....UPDATED 08/29/16 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW ON 4/16/16 IN LANSING MICHIGAN. HAVE CONSISTENTLY HAD ISSUES WITH TIRES HOLDING CORRECT PRESSURE. HAVE DOCUMENTATION THAT DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED LOSS OF PRESSURE, BUT NO LEAKS FOUND. WILL NOT REPLACE TIRES UNDER WARRANTY. NO DAMAGE HAS BEEN SUSTAINED TO ANY OF THE TIRES AT ANY TIME. ALL FOUR TIRES DEFECTIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A CONSTANT SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND THE VEHICLE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING INDICATORS AND GAUGES FLICKERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO EXECUTIVE DODGE JEEP (203-949-7430, LOCATED AT 406 S ORCHARD ST, WALLINGFORD, CT 06492). THE DEALER REPLACED THE PCV VALVE, BUT THE VEHICLE STALLED IN AN UNSAFE MANNER ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER A SECOND TIME, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE THIRD TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THEY INDICATED THAT A BATTERY REPLACEMENT WAS REQUIRED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF A LOANER VEHICLE WOULD BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE TRANSMITION SHIFT HARD AND CAUSES WHIP LASH AHD STICKS IN GEAR, SKIPS GEARS,IT HORRIBLE ETC..
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the message “4WD/Pull Over” was displayed, and the Low Oil warning light was intermittently illuminated. The contact became aware of the warning lights after receiving an oil change. Additionally, the oil level needed to be topped off after driving approximately 3,000 miles. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost power steering functionality, and it decelerated and stalled. The contact pulled over, turned off the vehicle, waited for several minutes, then made several attempts to restart the vehicle until the power steering functionality returned and was able to drive as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and it was confirmed that the engine was consuming an excessive amount of oil, and that the oil level sensor was inoperable. The dealer reprogrammed the ECM, but failures persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
THE 2016 TRAILHAWK VERSION OF THE CHEROKEE HAS A DANGEROUS TENDENCY WHEN DESCENDING STEEP BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT ROADS WITH GRADES OF 8-12%. THIS MODEL WAS SUPPOSEDLY DESIGNED TO MAINTAIN CONTROL WHEN GOING DOWNHILL ON THESE TYPES OF GRADES. IF YOU SHIFT IT INTO FIRST GEAR IN LOW RANGE, IT CANNOT HOLD THE GRADE AS THE ENGINE HAS INADEQUATE COMPRESSION TO SLOW THE CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT INTO 2ND EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER IS IN FIRST GEAR. THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE DOWNHILL A AN EXTREMELY HIGH RATE AND JUST BEFORE IT HITS THE REDLINE, IT WILL SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR, THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO QUICKLY ACCELERATE UNTIL YOU APPLY THE BRAKES TO BRING IT UNDER CONTROL. THIS WILL GET SOMEONE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I SUBMITTED A REVIEW OF THIS AND OTHER ISSUES TO JEEP AND THEY SIMPLY ADVISED ME TO SPEAK TO A JEEP DEALER WHICH I DID. I EXPLAINED THIS ISSUE TO THEM AND THEY HAD NO SOLUTION FOR THIS. BECAUSE OF THIS WE SOLD THE CAR IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR. WE BOUGHT IT IN APRIL OF 2016 AND TRADED IT IN THIS MONTH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE REMEDY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FURTHER DIAGNOSED THAT THE POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION VALVE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,400.
I PURCHASED A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE AND SINCE DAY ONE THE START/STOP FEATURE NEVER HAVE WORKED PROPERLY AND IT WASN'T UNTIL RECENTLY THAT, I WAS TOLD BY MY CURRENT DEALER THAT, IT IS THE BACKUP BATTERY AND THAT JEEP HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND SUPPOSEDLY JEEP IS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER MANUFACTURER BUT, I FEEL JEEP ALWAYS KNEW THIS AND DID NOT INFORM THE DEALERS AND CONSUMERS. THIS IS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 2 YEARS NOW AND THE JEEP REPRESENTATIVE HAVE SAID TO ME THAT, SHE HAVE SOME PEOPLE ON HER LIST AND I AM NOT ONE OF THEM AND AT THE TIME OF THIS REPORT/COMPLAIN, I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION, UPDATE EITHER FROM THE DEALER OR JEEP. IF OTHER CONSUMERS JEEP OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THEN; WHY JEEP FAIL TO REPORT THE SITUATION AS A "RECALL"? THE START/STOP AND BACKUP BATTERY IS NOT A CRITICAL PROBLEM THAT MIGHT STOP THE CAR FROM FUNCTIONING BUT, IF I DECIDE TO SELL OR GIVE THE CAR ON TRADE-IN PEOPLE ARE GOING TO ASK ME ABOUT IT AND I'M AFRAID I MIGHT LOSE MONEY/VALUE BECAUSE OF THE FEATURE NOT WORKING.

THE CONTACT STATED SHE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30.

AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE PARKING BRAKE INDEPENDENTLY ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE WIRING HARNESS THAT NEEDED TO BE ADJUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

JEEP ACTIVELY MARKETS AND PROMOTES THE CHEROKEE AS TOWABLE FOUR-WHEELS-ON-THE-GROUND BEHIND MOTORHOMES. BEFORE I PURCHASED MY 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK IN NOVEMBER, 2015, I CONFIRMED BY REFERENCE TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL THAT THIS WAS TRUE. IN FEBRUARY, 2016, I BEGAN TO SEE DISCUSSIONS IN THE FAMILY MOTOR COACH ASSOCIATION (FMCA) MAGAZINE, AND IN THE FMCA WEBSITE FORUMS AS TO A TOWING ISSUE WHEN THE JEEP CHEROKEE IS TOWED FOUR-ON-THE-GROUND BEHIND A MOTORHOME; THE ISSUE BEING A SEVERE WOBBLE IN THE JEEP CHEROKEE'S FRONT END--SEVERE ENOUGH TO DESTABILIZE THE MOTORHOME. JEEP ISSUED SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER 08-022-16 ON FEBRUARY 24, 2016, WHICH NOT ONLY RETROACTIVELY REQUIRES AN "ACCESSORY KIT TO ENHANCE FLAT TOW PERFORMANCE" (PART NO. 68321424AA), BUT REVISED THE JEEP CHEROKEE'S OWNER'S MANUAL PROHIBITING FLAT TOWING WITHOUT THIS ACCESSORY. THE PROBLEM IS THAT MY JEEP DEALER SAYS THIS ACCESSORY IS NOT AVAILABLE (AS OF MARCH 21, 2016), AND DOESN'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE. JEEP APPARENTLY IS LETTING THEIR CUSTOMERS BEAR THIS BURDEN ALONE, AS I HAVE NOT HAD ANY COMMUNICATION FROM JEEP, AND CANNOT FIND ANY EVIDENCE THAT ANY OTHER JEEP CHEROKEE OWNER HAS, EITHER. THE DILEMMA WE FACE IS THAT THE SEASON FOR EXTENDED MOTORHOME TRIPS IS UPON US, AND WE ARE FACED WITH TWO UNACCEPTABLE CHOICES: 1) CANCEL LONG-PLANNED, EXPENSIVE TRIPS, OR 2) TOW OUR JEEP CHEROKEES WITHOUT THE ACCESSORY "FIX" THAT JEEP HAS NOT MADE AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL OTHER TIMES AFTER THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE START ON AND OFF BUTTON FAILED TO WORK WITHOUT WARNING. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT THE BRAKE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,200.
START PUSHING ON GAS PEDAL, CAR WILL HESITATE BEFORE MOVING, THEN QUICKLY JUMPS INTO GEAR, JERKING AS IT SHIFTS INTO EACH GEAR.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY THE ENGINE LURCHED FORWARD AND DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, I WAS LUCKY I WAS NOT KILLED. CALLED DEALER AND THEY TOWED IT. AFTER KEEPING IT FOR WEEKS WITH NO LOANER, THEY TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED, THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. EVERY OTHER JEEP OWNER I KNOW HAS HAD FAILED TRANSMISSIONS. IT IS NOT SAFE FOR MY KIDS AND FAMILY. THE COMPANY LIES TO SELL CARS AND NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. I OWNED OTHER 2014 AND 2015 OF SAME MODEL AND THEY ALSO FAILED AND I REPORTED IT SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY KEEP ON SELLING IT. DEALERS ALWAYS LIE AND WANT TO SELL YOU A TIMEBOMB, COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO BLOW UP SOONER OR LATER. I WORK AT A JEEP DEALER AND KNOW FIRST HAND AND MOST OF THESE MODELS ARE TOWED BACK WITH BROKEN ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS. DO NOT BUY OR RECOMMEND THIS CAR! IT IS DANGEROUS AND THE DESIGN IS BAD! VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER TO TRANSMISSION WHILE TRAVELING DOWN ROAD. ENGINE REMAINED RUNNING BUT ALL ATTEMPTS TO GET TRANS. TO ENGAGE FAILED. LEFT US STRANDED IN A TRAVEL LANE ON HIGHWAY. POLICE CALLED FOR SAFETY WHILE WAITING FOR ROAD SIDE TOWING. TOWED TO DEALER. DEALER HAS HAD VEHICLE FOR 5 DAYS NOW REPLACING MANY PARTS UNSUCCESSFULLY AND NOW SAYS PROBABLY NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION. ITS ONLY 2 WEEKS OLD WITH 265 MI. THIS IS A FAULTY DANGEROUS VEHICLE! NOW I KNOW THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON AND THERE IS NO FIX. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED . THE 9 SPD. AUTO TRANSMISSION DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND WILL GET PEOPLE HURT OR KILLED.
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY AND WILL NOT RESTART. FIVE + INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED THIS YEAR ALONE, FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED ON JAN 25, 2017 - THE MOST RECENT OCCURRED TODAY AUG 24, 2017. AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN COMPLETED ON THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER NEW/RELATED FAULTY ISSUES HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED TO INCLUDE THE TRANSMISSION AND SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING. EVEN AFTER THE SO-CALLED REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED, THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO SHUT DOWN. ALL INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING, TURNING, STOPPED ON CITY STREETS, AND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO RE-START ENGINE AFTER RUNNING A SHORT (LESS THAT 5 MINUTE) ERRAND. INCIDENTS ARE A SAFETY ISSUE ENDANGERING LIFE AND SAFETY. PREMIER JEEP DEALERSHIP IN PLACENTIA, CA HAS BEEN LESS THAN COOPERATIVE AND RUDE IN DEALING WITH A FEMALE OWNER. LOSS OF USE OF VEHICLE HAS RESULTED IN ADDITIONAL COSTS FOR OTHER VEHICLE RENTAL/INSURANCE AND LOST WAGES FROM NOT BEING ABLE TO GET TO OR HAVING TO LEAVE WORK EARLY TO DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE. COPIES OF VEHICLE MAINTENANCE REPAIR WILL BE FORTHCOMING. PLEASE NOTE THEIR HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS CITED INCIDENTS OF THIS ISSUE OCCURRING ON THE JEEP CHEROKEE BUILT IN LATE 2015 THROUGH EARLY 2016. CHRYSLER/JEEP HAS EVEN DISTRIBUTED NOTICES TO ALL DEALERSHIPS RECENTLY TO ADVISE OF THE ISSUE.
WE BOUGHT A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT TWO DAYS AGO.AT A 108 MILES WHILE DRIVING UP A CITY STREET. THE CAR BECAME VERY JERKY, LUNGING FORWARD, THEN WENT IN TO NEUTRAL AND DIED. AFTER THAT THE CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN. LUCKILY THERE WASN'T ANY DRIVERS NEAR US AND WE WEREN'T ON A HWY. THE DEALERSHIP DID TOW IT BACK TO THEIR SHOP FOR REPAIRS.AFTER RESEARCHING AND FINDING THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS CAR AND TRANSMISSION OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS. MOST OF THESE COMPLAINTS HAVE STATED THAT THEY CONTINUED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM EVEN AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS IN FOR REPAIRS OF THIS ISSUE. I'M TERRIFIED TO GET THIS CAR BACK. LEMON LAW STATES I HAVE TO GIVE THEM 3 TIMES TO FIX THIS, BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO GAMBLE WITH MINE AND MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY TWO MORE TIMES? WHEN THIS MANUFACTURE HAS BEEN PUTTING THESE TRANSMISSIONS OUT FOR THREE YEARS PROMISING IT'S FIXED WITH EACH NEW YEAR RELEASE. I'M SICK WITH CONCERN.
ONLY HAD 262 MILES ON OUR NEW 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE WHEN WE STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. AT FIRST IT WOULDN'T REVERSE ONE DAY AND THEN WE COULDN'T GET IT TO GO PAST FIRST GEAR WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. IT HAD A STRONG CHEMICAL BURNING SMELL. THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE PARKING LIGHT., DROVE IT TO THE JEEP DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM AFTER ARGUING WITH THEM OVER THE PHONE. THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND HAD TO CONTACT THE FACTORY. THEY ENDED UP HAVING IT FOR A MONTH AND HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION.
I HAVE TAKEN MY 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MULTIPLE TIME TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE THE HESITATION IN THE TRANSMISSION, JERKING INTO GEAR ( FROM 1ST TO SECOND GEAR, BUT MOST OF THE TIME FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR) AND A LOUD CLACKING NOISE THAT APPEARS TO COME FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. ACCORDING TO 2 DIFFERENT JEEP/CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT I HAVE TAKEN MY CHEROKEE TO BE DIAGNOSE, THEY CAN'T FIND WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY DID NOT EXPIRIENCE THE JERKING ON THE TRANSMISSION DURING DRIVING. THEY DID INFORMED ME THAT THE CLACKING SOUND COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR IS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WHEN IT GETS HOT MAKES A CLACKING NOISE, BUT THEY HAVE NO FIX FOR IT. THE DEALERS CLAIM THEY ARE WAITING FOR THE JEEP INC. TO COME OUT WITH A FIX. AS IF THAT'S ACCEPTABLE TO FORCE YOUR CUSTOMER TO DRIVE A NOISY, HESITATING BRAND NEW CAR. I AM DUMBFOUNDED WITH HOW THE DEALERSHIPS JEEP / CHRYSLER KEEP SWEEPING THIS ISSUE UNDER THE RUG HOPING IT WILL GO AWAY. TIME TO FIND A SOLUTION.
I WAS APPROACHING A DIP IN THE ROADWAY AND A SHARP LEFT CURVE ON A HIGHWAY SO I SLOWED DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. WHEN I WAS IN THE TURN I ACCELERATED AND THE ENGINE DIDN'T RESPOND. I LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THEN ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. BY THIS TIME I HAD SLOWED DOWN SO MUCH THAT I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT BEING STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. FOR THE THIRD TIME I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AND THIS TIME THE ENGINE RESPONDED. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE, CHECK TRANSMISSION OR ANY OTHER WARNING THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ABOUT 40 MILES AFTER THE PREVIOUS ISSUE, I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE TO PASS A VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE AGAIN DID NOT RESPOND SEVERAL TIMES. AT THIS POINT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND SO DID A SERVICE TRANSMISSION DASH BOARD INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. I THEN EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND STOPPED AT A RED TRAFFIC SIGNAL. WHEN I ACCELERATED TO PROCEED THROUGH THE NOW GREEN TRAFFIC SIGNAL, THE ENGINE REVVED UP AND THE CAR MOVED AT A VERY SLOW SPEED. IT SEEMED TO ME AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS "SLIPPING" OR WAS IN A MUCH HIGHER GEAR THAN IT SHOULD BE IN. I HAD THE JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK EDITION WITH A V6 ENGINE FLAT BEDDED TO A NEAR BY JEEP DEALER. THIS JEEP HAD ONLY 800(EIGHT HUNDRED) MILES ON IT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT A TRANSMISSION HOSE HAD NOT BEEN CONNECTED PROPERLY CAUSING TRANSMISSION FLUID TO LEAK OUT. I FEEL THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOME SORT OF INDICATION THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID HAD LEAKED OUT. I BELIEVE THAT I SHOULDN'T FIND OUT THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED OUT THE WAY I DID. I FEEL THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DESIGN. WHEN I PRESS DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL I EXPECT TO BE PROPELLED FORWARD. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE RESPONDED AS DESIGNED. THEY SAID IT WAS A "FAIL SAFE". THIS VEHICLE IS DESIGNED WITH NO TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TO CHECK THE LEVEL OF FLUID
BRAND NEW CAR, SHAKE AND SHIMMY BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR, AND HITS HARD IN 4TH. I HAVE ROUGHLY 1400 MILES ON IT. TOOK IT TO LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, THE TEAM CLAIMED TO FIX IT WITH A TCM FLASH. HOWEVER, MUCH LIKE MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE, THE FLASH DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN JEEP'S ABILITY TO FIX THIS ACROSS 3 YEARS. THIS ISSUE HOLD THE GREATEST AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ACROSS 2014, 15, AND NOW 16 MODEL YEARS. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM, THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM WITH INSUFFICIENT FORWARD RANGE/ILLUMINATION AND YELOW-ISH COLOR SPECTRUM. SOMETIMES IT IS DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE IF THE HEADLIGHTS ARE FUNCTIONING BECAUSE THEY ARE SO DIM. THIS SITUATION IS A SAFETY RISK FOR THE DRIVER AND OTHERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE "SWITCH TO NEUTRAL" WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED. NEW HOLLAND JEEP IN NEW HOLLAND, PA WAS CONTACTED AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250.
BRAND NEW CAR WITH 2 MILES ON IT. BRAKES WERE WEAK FEELING. DEALER IS REPLACING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, POWERBOOSTER, MASTER CYLINDER, AND LINES. HAD MY WIFE AND BABY IN IT. DEALER SAID IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
FIRST OF ALL, THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH JUST OVER 1,300 MILES ON IT AFTER NEARLY 3 MONTHS OF USE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE ROAD WITH A 45MPH SPEED LIMIT. THE TRANSMISSION JUST SHUT DOWN AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND THE RPM SHOT UP TO A HIGH LEVEL. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE NEAR ME ON THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE DASHBOARD TOLD ME TO "SERVICE TRANSMISSION. RESTART VEHICLE IN PARK WITH VEHICLE AT ZERO SPEED" I DID THIS AND TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION MADE A HARD CLUNKING SOUND. I COULD STILL NOT ACCELERATE. I HAD TO REPEAT THE PROCESS A FEW MORE TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE STARTED TO RUN NORMALLY. THE CAR SEEMINGLY WORKED FINE AFTER THAT. EVEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT HAD TURNED ON, WAS NOW OFF. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE IS NO WAY OF TELLING WHEN, IF AT ALL, IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN SO NOW I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT HAPPENING EVERY TIME I GET IN MY CAR. IF I HAD BEEN ON A BUSIER ROAD, AN ACCIDENT COULD HAVE EASILY HAPPENED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING FLAT-TOWED BEHIND AN RV, THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A WOBBLE THAT WAS UNCONTROLLABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH VEHICLES BEGAN TO SWAY UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY BRING THE RV TO A STOP WITHOUT CAUSING ANY DAMAGE TO EITHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE INSPECTED AT THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TOW HITCH WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE INSTALLER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE INSTALLATION WAS CORRECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 850. My Vehicle VIN isn't listed under the massive recall of the PTU (Diagnostic code C14A7-67) Vehicle is the same manufacture year of the recalled vehicles. If the PTU fails it can cause sudden loss of drive power, inability to stay in Park (rollaway risk). The check 4WD light is on and Diagnostic code C14A7-67 comes up. Jeep said my vehicle isn't included in the recall so there isn't anything they can do. I am wondering why this Vin isn't included in the recall and if it should be since it is having the identical issue as the massive recall of similar vehicles. My vehicle lost drive power on a highway and had to carefully glide over to the shoulder.
