The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
It has been over a year since I got my notice of recall. Still no fix for this according to the dealer. It is completely unacceptable that I have a vehicle that is not really usable without risk while they sit around and dont get a fix. It can not be that complicated. Replace the ptu if they have to. I know it sucks but if its a safety thing then it needs to be done.
On 12/30/2024, I received a “4WD SVC” light on the dashboard of my 2019 Jeep Cherokee (odometer reading 61,000). Upon a quick Google search, this is a very common problem with the Jeep Cherokee’s Power Transfer Unit. I took my Jeep in to be diagnosed at an independent service center (1/3/2025), where it was confirmed that my vehicle was reading a code: C14A7-97 (PTU motor component, or system operation obstructed, or blocked). It has been noted that the PTU failure can result in a loss of power to the front wheels, potentially causing reduced traction, difficulty turning, and noticeable noises like grinding or knocking, especially when turning, due to the malfunctioning gears inside the unit; in severe cases, the front wheels might completely lock up depending on the nature of the failure. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative; however, a Google search indicates that there is an ongoing class action investigation (Saunder, Schelkopf - Attorneys at Law) for PTU failures in 2019-2022 Jeep Cherokee’s.
My car have been having an issue with starting so I changed the battery and a couple of days later my car would not start. And this has been since December 26 2024. And my car haven't started since. Everytime I had to hit the brake a message would come up saying to check the electrical stability thing.
Power Transfer Unit failed at 79,100kms. Previous year models had a recall of PTU but my VIN is excluded. Common failure.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that after stopping and restarting the vehicle, the failure self-corrected. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light and 4WD message was intermittently displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the power transfer unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 70,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the “Service 4-WD” warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with power transfer unit failure. The contact was informed that the power transfer unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that parts were on backorder. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 122,000.
Transmission slip between 1st and second gear
4 wheel drive system failure and dashboard warning light has been on since late 2024! Took it to a Jeep dealer. They specified a problem with the PTU upon inspection. The part was unavailable for repair. Through the Mopar website, my Jeep has been recalled for this problem since Jan 2025. There is still no fix as of 12/3/25!!!! I phoned dealer to see if it could be repaired as per the recall... they tell me they cannot help me and to call Chrysler. Ridiculous. Please advise!! I do not want to experience further damage to my car and unexpected motor loss as the recall states... and I want my 4WD working again as it greatly helps with car control in wet situations and I often travel through mountains (snow). Thank you for your time and assistance.
Last week, my wife was turning left at a busy intersection and her 2019 Jeep Cherokee suddenly wouldn't accelerate, and she had to coast across 4 lanes of traffic during evening rush hour. After placing in park and shutting off to refuel, she restarted and upon putting in drive, 4WD Srv light was still on, yet this time the vehicle was able to move again. So luckily she was able to get home. Next morning, I went to take the car to local mechanic. Sitting at the end of our street and ready to turn left onto a high-traffic main road, I experienced the same condition, with 4WD Srv light, also check engine symbol indicator, and also the same error message on info screen of: "4WD Neutral Warning Vehicle May Move Even in Park." And similarly, when I tried to start pulling out with cars approaching from both directions, when taking my foot off the brake and onto the accelerator, I felt no resistance at the pedal, as RPMs increased yet the vehicle didn't move an inch. I shifted into Park, and momentarily killed the engine. Then restarted it, and once back into drive—although 4WD indicator was still on—I was able to get power to the drive wheels and was able to pull out. Seeing as my [XXX] was also in the car with me, I'm very grateful that the failure to accelerate didn't occur at the moment I would've just pulled out in front of fast-approaching traffic. I took the vehicle to a local mechanic and explained the situation. A few hours later, they called me stating the Power Train Unit (PTU) was bad and would need to be replaced. They also informed me that the part, according to a local Jeep dealer they contacted was unavailable and "not even on the horizon." They said a used and remanufactured part could be used to make the repair, but that it would cost $600 more than if a new part were available. They also said that there were no aftermarket parts available, and that the part itself was not repairable, but had to be replaced. Quoted $3700. Following up on NHTSA ID Number: 11632353: Per NHTSA's website: "If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 or TTY: 1-800-424-9153 or file an online complaint with NHTSA." — I won't recount the full incident of original malfunction related to the PTU and now having been issued safety recall. But to add further complication and still any lack of resolve, we received the notifications of issuance of a safety recall related to our PTU failure. However, all correspondence has continued to state indefinitely that the is currently no resolve available for the problem. Meanwhile, the additional safety concerns and financial hardships this has caused, are compounding. First off, when attempting to move the vehicle which is completely unable to be driven whatsoever, my family and I literally were going to attempt to push the car, as it's completely immobile by its own power. And worse and scarier yet, when we attempted to do so, we found that it could no longer be trusted to hold to it's spot, in the park gear selector position! And having the completely electronic parking brake only, and with a brand new battery now also completely dead mysteriously, parking brake is completely unusable. Only choice has been to keep the vehicle sitting up against wheel chocks on all four wheels. It has become nothing but a source of anxiety and worry about our safety, but also about our lack of any resolve on when, if ever, we'll be able to get it fixed, so that we can hopefully immediately sell it, to get it out of our worrying minds. Secondly, we bought a second car in order for my wife and I both to have, reliable transportation. She being a nurse with a full time position, we had no choice but to have an immediate resolve, whereas Jeep has given us no indication of any fix, at any time in the near future. Unacceptable and Jeep needs to resolve asap.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the Service 4WD warning light was flashing and had become constant. The contact stated that while accelerating to make a right turn from a stop light at approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle stalled. There were clicking and popping sounds coming from the transmission. The failure was brief before the vehicle self-corrected, and the contact was able to continue driving. The contact stated that while in a School's pick-up line with stop-and-go traffic, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle lost power. The contact shifted to park, restarted the vehicle, and continued driving. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who diagnosed that the power transfer unit (PTU) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired due to the replacement part being on backorder. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
PTU system was faulty and needed to be replaced. There is currently a recall on this issue with 2019 Jeep Cherokees, but Jeep informed me that my VIN was not associated with this recall. Even though I personally paid to have the issue fixed 3 weeks before the recall.
Subject: Safety Recall 25V 011 – Remedy Delay Over One Year / Request for Immediate Action I am contacting you regarding Safety Recall 25V 011 affecting my 2019 Jeep Cherokee. I received the original recall notice over a year ago, and Stellantis has still not provided the required repair parts or an approved remedy. Federal law requires manufacturers to provide a free recall remedy within a reasonable time, and NHTSA generally considers 60 days to be the guideline for timely completion. A delay exceeding one year is not reasonable, especially for a defect that can cause loss of motive power, inability to shift, and potential roll away. I am requesting the following: 1.Written confirmation that the recall remedy and parts are still unavailable. 2.Escalation of my case to Stellantis for review due to the excessive delay. 3.A loaner vehicle or alternate transportation if my vehicle is considered unsafe to operate under the recall conditions. 4.Notification as soon as parts become available or if interim repairs or accommodations are authorized. Please document this request in your system and provide a written response. I am also filing a report with NHTSA regarding the extended lack of remedy. Thank you for your prompt attention. Vehicle: 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite VIN: [XXX] Recall: Stellantis / Jeep Recall 01C (NHTSA 25V‑011) Dealer: Carson Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Carson City, Nevada Description: My 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite (VIN [XXX] ) is included in Stellantis Recall 01C. It has now been more than a year since the recall was issued, and Stellantis still has not provided a remedy for my vehicle. My servicing dealer, Carson Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Carson City, Nevada, reports that no parts are available for the recall and that Stellantis has not provided any timeline for when parts or the required software remedy will be released. This recall involves a safety‑related defect in the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) that can cause loss of drive power or loss of Park function. Despite the severity of the defect, Stellantis continues to delay both the software remedy and the availability of replacement PTU components. I am unable to obtain the required repair, and the manufacturer has not met the federal requirement to provide a timely remedy. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Stellantis for an unreasonable delay in providing recall repairs for Recall 01C and require the manufacturer to supply the remedy without further delay. When I put my car in park it began to smell as if something was burning. Within a few days, my car began leaking oil. I brought it to my mechanic, who let me know that my oil cooler was leaking. He let me know that this is a very common issue with Jeeps and Jeep is very well aware of it. He let me know that the oil cooler that Jeep uses is known to be faulty. I had it fixed by my local mechanic. There were no lights on in the Jeep and absolutely no notification that there was an issue. The oil life stated it was at 89%, which coincided with when I had my oil changed last. This issue went completely unnoticed by my car with NO alert to the driver. Had I not noticed the smell or recognized that my car was leaking, this could have been VERY bad. Jeep knows there is an issue and refuses to address it. I called the dealership and they denied that there was any issue with the part and even suggested that my local shop that changes my oil was responsible. A quick internet search will show you that this IS a huge issue with Jeeps and way too many people have had to pay out of their own pocket to fix an issue that Jeep knows they have with their faulty oil cooler.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH, the 4WD warning light illuminated, and the 4WD Mode became inoperable. The contact was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure had caused the vehicle to slide while driving on snowy road surfaces. The vehicle was taken to Carfix Auto Repair, where it was diagnosed that the PTU had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 96,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle unintendedly decelerated. While driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle stalled and was later towed to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the PTU rear differential was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired with a used PTU; however, recently the failure reoccurred. The cause for the failure has not yet been determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. Additionally, it was discovered that oil was leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the faulty oil cooler unit. The failure mileage was 101,000.
During acceleration to pass another vehicle, my engine had lost all power and acceleration and I had to make a split decision to brake and maneuver my vehicle back into my lane behind multiple vehicles who were behind me before I attempted to pass. Had there have been oncoming traffic within that mentally unaccounted time that I was in the opposite lane, I could have been in a very large deadly accident. Cylinder 1 and 2 are testing at 0 compression, Oil is leaking into the turbo and out of the exhaust. I have had regular oil changes and a tune up with the mentioning of a low power and jolting issue during acceleration and the dealership did not look into my concerns other than their simple findings of one burnt spark plug, I had all 4 replaced at that appointment, the engine is broken about 6 months later.
The car has been running out of coolant the past couple of months with no known visual leaking problems. I brought it to the mechanic who stated the radiator had to be replaced. No warning prior. No leaking or lights coming on. Another issue the uconnect subsystem powers on and off whenever it wants. Switches from GPS. Radio, heating and a/c. Causing distraction to the driver. I have not been able to know why it is happening. Went from several times a month to now daily.
Engine failed while driving down the highway. Vehicle was towed to local repair shop, per their report cylinder two had zero compression. This was inspected with boroscope, cylinder walls and piston looked undamaged. Cylinder leak down test showed that vehicle has blow by to the crank case indicating a piston or ring failure. Their recommendation was for new engine/long block. Per the report there are no engines available because of national shortage and backorder and no anticipated date of availability. Attached below our invoices for diagnostic testing as well as estimates or new engine or long block.
I'm the single owner of the jeep with roughly 50,000 miles on it. It has not been abused nor been in an accident. I took the jeep in for a brake job (by an ASE certified mechanic) and during the service they noted that the casting of the rear differential had failed in what appears to be a bad casting/manufacturing defect. The part that failed is what retains the seal for the differential. Had it completely let go, the fluid could have drained out causing a complete failure of the differential. Of course, depending upon when the failure were to occur, the severity risk is vast. I had it replaced to the tune of over $3,000. On-line searches indicated that this is a known issue yet I was not able to find any sign of a recall to inspect or repair. My next step is co contact Stellantis to seek restitution although I suspect that since the failure was found beyond the warranty period, that I will be unsuccessful....fingers crossed.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked abnormally. The failure was intermittent. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired, and the failure persisted. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, there was a large oil stain on the ground underneath the vehicle. The contact called a mobile mechanic to the scene since there was no oil in the engine and the vehicle could not be driven. However, no cause for the failure was found. The mobile mechanic placed seals on the gaskets. Most recently, while the vehicle was stopped and idling, the instrument panel failed to illuminate, and the screen remained black. The contact stated that the hazard lights turned on independently and several attempts to deactivate the hazard lights was needed. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
There is a safety recall on this year and model for software reprograming of transmission controller where the vehicles shuts off in traffic causing a stop and restart. This VIN does not make the recall but has the exact problem described.
In December I started noticing that I would have to pump the accelerator to get the vehicle to go but was fine once it was going. On December 10th while driving and stopped at a red light the truck cut off, I quickly turned on the flasher and tried to restart the truck. This happened every time I stopped. At that time the check engine light came on. After pumping the gas again I got it started. This happened 5 times by time I got home. I contacted a friend who is a mechanic and he informed me that I needed to get it to a shop. I did not drive it for 3 days, but upon driving it to put gas in it, I noticed that again I had to pump the gas pedal to get it going. When I reached a stop sign it cut off again. I called road side assistance through my insurance company and they were able to get it started. After pumping the gas again I was able to drive it to the gas station, where it would not start after that. Because of the time of night I had the truck towed to my house. Afterwards I it towed to a repair shop where I have been informed that a new engine is required . The truck only has 110,000 miles on it. I have had to replace the battery twice already. I feel it should be included in the recall as the issue stated for the recall is the problem and could have caused an accident when it shut off in the middle of the road during rush hour traffic.
This car completely shut off while on the highway. Computer change out. Seals on the hatch leaking water. Should be recalled -this was problem before and sold me the vehicle. Glitches in the drive- pauses or jumps speed. Now issues with radiator. It’s crap.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Service 4-Wheel Drive" was displayed, and the vehicle made an abnormal grinding sound. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000(Power Train), which the contact related to the failure. The failure mileage was 59,000.
Rear differential was deemed defective during state inspection and a safety issue if not replaced. The rear differential case was cracking and pulling apart. The cause for the crack was communicated as corrosion from road salt and winter weather exposure. I live in the North East! I call defect. When researching this issue online, it is a commonly reported issue with Jeep owners and an obvious manufacturer defect. Jeep Cherokee owners have experienced cracks in the rear differential casing and discussions suggest that these cracks are due to manufacturing defects or bad casting.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train). The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and hesitated, but the engine continued to rev, and the RPM was very elevated. The contact stated that during the 6th failure, the check engine warning light illuminated for several seconds and then disappeared. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
My car is doing exactly what the newest recall is for the PTU... I lost power while driving, I couldn't put the car in park. I bought a new car the following day and it's been sitting in my driveway ever since.
While idling in my child's school drop off line, I was in park with car running, I stepped on the brake to put the car into gear to move forward and the car stalled and wouldn't start back up until about 1-2 minutes later. No lights were lit up once I restarted the car. This happened one other time and we thought it was the battery, but not we are rethinking it wasn't the battery.
2019 Jeep Cherokee with only 35,000 miles. There was a recall previously for lateral acceleration sensors that covered over 40,000 2019 Cherokees. This vehicle is affected with the same problem, but I’m being told that because the VIN doesn’t fall in a particular range it is not covered. The repair could end up being extremely expensive due to the labor required to repair the defective sensor. The car displays multiple warnings that Electronic Stability Control and 4WD are unavailable. Codes pulled revealed one fault code, C0061 which is for the lateral acceleration sensor which also is tied into the airbag system. Recall V63 (NHTSA 19V-449) issued in August 2019 is related to this exact issue. There are numerous reports of the same problem occurring with other 2019 Jeep Cherokees on Jeep owner forums. Jeep should have expanded the recall to cover this known defect.
PTU (Power transfer unit) I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the ongoing lack of resolution regarding my Jeep's Power Transfer Unit (PTU) replacement. Since November 19, 2024, my vehicle has been in service at Larry H. Miller, located at 9733 Coors Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. The dealership has informed me that the necessary part is on indefinite backorder, with no expected timeline for delivery. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to receive any assistance or timely resolution. The dealership is suggesting that I trade in my vehicle for a newer model, which I find completely unacceptable, especially since the part required for my vehicle’s repair is covered under my warranty. I have been working with Javiar Sanchez, the Service Manager, and have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue, but unfortunately, I have received no substantial help or updates. Additionally, I have contacted Jeep directly, with no progress made. This situation has left me in the unfortunate position of continuing to make payments on a vehicle that I am unable to drive. As my Jeep remains at the dealership without a resolution, I kindly request immediate assistance in facilitating the repair of my vehicle under warranty, or an alternative resolution to this issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact stated there was a grinding sound coming from the vehicle and the 4-WD warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that the failure was persistent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated several warning lights illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the steering wheel was firm, and the vehicle was difficult to steer. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with ABS failure. The contact was informed that the ABS needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
My vehicle is leaking in the front and passenger seat and my emergency brake comes on and I can't disengage it unless I stop the car and turn it off and back on. Sometimes it takes 2 times to do this. In November, twice I was merging into traffic going 45 miles per hour and it happened. I prayed I wouldn't get smashed. I turned the car off and back on and I was able to disengage the emergency brake. On 1/3/2025, it happened as I was backing out of my driveway onto traffic. I had to turn the car on and off 2 times before I could disengage the emergency brake. I was lucky no vehicles traveling on the road. There is a terrible sound and then the car bucks and you are jarred. I read about an investigation on this same issue back in July 2022. My dealer says until they can replicate the problem they can't fix it. Please help!
I have been having an intermittent 4WD SERVICE light come on, then after a while it stayed on. I brought the vehicle to my mechanic who diagnosed the issue as a failing Power Transfer Unit (PTU). He suggested I bring to the dealership for diagnosis as he saw recalls and service bulletins related to this issue, indeed I found "NHTSA Campaign 25V011000 (Reported April 2025): Involves the power transfer unit (PTU), which may damage and cause loss of drive power or park function. Consequence: Increased crash or injury risk from stall or rollaway. Remedy: Software updates and PTU replacement if needed (free); final remedy expected January 2026. Contact FCA at 1-800-853-1403 (recall #01C)" Even tho this issue is the same as reported in the recall, for some reason my VIN is not included in the recall. The car has been at the dealership awaiting repair since Monday, Jan 12 and I am told the part is on backorder and will not be available until Feb 16. So my car is out of commission for about 5-6 weeks due to this faulty part that is prevelant in these vehicles. I argued for some goodwill assistance and they did give me some relief, but I believe this should be included in the recall. Can you assist me with getting my vehicle included in the recall? The issue was first diagnosed by my mechanic in Nov 2024 at 53,998 miles then again in Jan 2026 at 64,896 miles. The dealer has had the car since Jan 12, 2026.
While the car was in motion, the car slowed almost to a complete stop & the check engine light came on, along with the alert “Service Electronic Stability Control”. When pressing on the gas, almost no power was present. Vehicle barely moves. This has happened several times in the last 4 weeks. The first time on 11/12/2024, the most recent time 12/4/2024.The throttle was replaced, but the incident repeated. The vehicle also occasionally rolls when it is put in park.
My svc 4wd light came on in November of 2024. Took it to the dealer same month, they said my ptu failed and they couldn't do anything for it bc the parts were jot available. They weren't available on back order even. I paid for $130 dollars just to be told that they couldn't do anything. While at the dealer after they told me this news I went and talked to a salesmen, they told me they couldn't take the jeep in on trade bc they don't know when they could get the part so they would loose money with it sitting. Recall came out on this in January 2025 and it now is February of 2026..I'm still waiting. The car is unstable and is basically worthless and a death trap in rain and is worse in snow. I got offered a rental out of my own pocket. I'm still making payments on this and I can't even fix it. The cars going to kill me and then what. Nothing. I was told in November of 2025 that they were hoping to have this fixed by the end of the year. Well it's February and nothing, I think they are just lieing. People are going to get hurt or killed bc of the stability.
The 4WD light came in November 2024. When taken to the dealer I was told it was probably the power transfer unit as they have been replacing a lot of them. And upon inspection it was the PTU. This problem was verified as being common and a recall issued shortly after my vehicle got a new PTU. My VIN is not under the recall and I am being told there is nothing they can do. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my vehicle has the same defect the others have and I think they need to look broader at the vehicles included in the recall. In May 2025 (just 6 months later), the rear differential went out with no warning or lights at all. There was a noise and by the time we got it to repair shop they said they don’t know how we even got it there as the rear differential exploded. This could have been a very dangerous situation. The rear differential goes hand in hand with the power transfer unit so it is very probable this happened due to the faulty PTU. Please help get JEEP to acknowledge the problem is a wider scope then initially thought so when they have a fix my vehicle can be included.
No known remedy for the PTU recall. I have had the 4WD Service light on for quite sometime now. Please advise on when remedy is available.
PTU failed causing 4WD to be disabled.
For over a year, my SVC 4Wdrive light continues to be on. I received a PTU recall notice a year ago with a recall with no fix at the time. I had the dealership look at the issue with he service light always turning on at random times. They informed it was related to the recall and the vehicle was still okay to drive. When I use 4W drive the SVC light comes in on addition to randomly coming on at all seasons of the year when I am driving. I recently received my recall fix notice and took the vehicle back to the dealership (3/4/26). After hooking it up, it was determined that my code was "close", but not an exact match. The PTU/SVC indicator light would still need to be taken care of, but now it would be at a cost to me. Please explain how this is acceptable when the issue still needs to be fixed but does not qualify under the Recall?
Stalling while driving slow. Stalled in traffic. Had to pushed off the road. Started running after a few minutes. Stalled 2 more times while i was leaving home. Would not start again for a few days each time. Alot of sensors are flashing. Has not been looked at by any dealership. Engine shuts down while driving
Vehicle was purchased used with an aftermarket warranty. At around 120,000 miles vehicle start stop would intermittently quit working. Vehicle has always had a gear shift hard when accelerating quickly. Currently needs an engine replacement after check engine light came on first it said the code was for auxiliary cooling system, planned to take it to get checked out the following day but while on the way there it sounded like something popped and the vehicle was running rough and when turned off didnt want to start back up. Was informed that an engine replacement was required. That would be $14000 to fix unless my warranty covers it which I am still a month later waiting for the engine to be torn down so waranty can see point of failure. It seems like 2019 Jeep Cherokees are becoming known for engine issues which is far from being fair to the typical consumer. Something needs to be done to help us out.
At 66,000 miles my 2019 Jeep Cherokee gave me a service 4WD light. The error code is related to needing to replace the PTU. This causes a huge safety issue as to when the car decides to be in 4WD or front wheel drive. I have experienced loss of directional control in light rain with normal acceleration due to this fault. I was told that this will cost around $4,000 to replace and the wait time on the manufacture part is 4-5 months out.
SVC 4WD driver light came on - error code c1415-92. Needs PTU replaced at cost of almost $4000.00. Only 37400 miles on the vehicle. No recall for the 2019 model.
Engine off, lost power steering and brakes. Gave me an error on the dash something about not being able to shift. Have 2 kids

Wheel lugs seize to wheels making it difficult to remove them if you have a flat tire. Unlike metals causes the problem. Safety issue.
