I have the 2019 Jeep Cherokee High Altitude 2.0 turbo 9 speed transmission. We have had this same problem since we bought this vehicle. It doesn't happen all the time but I believe is getting worse. The notorious very very hard shifting & stalling problems. This seems to happen at any speed, at anytime, & doesn't matter how you drive it the problem still persist. You can be driving 35 mph on a straight stretch, no breaking, no change in acceleration, and it will suddenly shift very hard! The other problem that I believe is connected to this is stalling before it decides to shift. Sometimes 3 to 5 seconds before shifting very hard into gear after it finally decides which gear it wants to shift into. It has created some very scary moments that my family & I could have got into an accident multiple times because it took so long to shift. Please be my guest & inspect it! No check lights or anything like that. I did have the battery go bad a year after we bought it. That might have to do with the start/stop system even though it is equipped with a bigger battery and better starter.
Unknown. Vehicle stalls at red lights causing the emergency brake to come on and at least 3 attempts to restart my vehicle.
There is something wrong with the stop start functionality on this vehicle. I am not sure how it is connected to the car but it causes my car to stop while I am driving literally. I've had this issue since I purchased the car I took it to the dealer to get fixed twice and called the manufacturer three times. I am having the issue again. I advised that dealership as well as jeep that I could get hurt if someone hits me from my car stopping abruptly ( I live in Chicago people drive fast and dangerously ) and they have done nothing to assist me with resolving the issue. but, whatever they keep fixing isn't the problem and I think that this is a violation of the law to have an unsafe vehicle on the road and I believe someone ( either Jeep or the dealership) were aware of the issues before I purchased the car. But , if I trade it in then someone else will just adopt the unsafe car at this point I am not sure what to do but reach out directly to the government but, I don't want to die my life is important to me and I cant just go buy another car I am not wealthy. I also , dont want someone to drive this car and something happens to them.
The radio screen has delaminated and Navigation now does not work and the screen constantly shows the message “Do you want to adjust your clock settings”. Doesn’t matter if I click out via “yes”, “no” or the “ X” in the upper right corner, it just comes back on. It also makes a clicking noise and there is a flashing light on the time on the screen. This is distracting while driving, and the screen will go black when I’m backing up so I can’t see anything behind me. I am the second owner and the car is out of warranty so the dealer will not cover the cost of the repair. I have to fix it so I have my navigation and back up camera again. I did my research and apparently this is a huge problem with Jeeps and Chryslers. But no recall. This is affecting my driving with the screen flipping to that message and the clicking noise. My only choice is never using the radio. The dealer will order and install the new radio when I can come up with the money to pay for it. It’s quite expensive. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. They suggested I call FCA, which I did and they told me there was nothing they could do to offer any price relief.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at highway speeds, the front passenger’s side wheel was shaking and vibrating abnormally. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. Additionally, while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who determined that the battery was faulty. The battery was replaced but the failure recurred. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 31,000.
Recently purchased this vehicle. FM radio volume cuts in and out randomly, and often. Some stations only work some of the time. Sometimes there is a lot of static. These are local stations that I have had no issue with in previous vehicles. AM radio and SiriusXM radio work fine. Only the FM radio seems to be affected. There have been no safety concerns, and the vehicle has not been inspected yet. I have researched this issue, and it seems to be a very common issue with Jeep that needs fixed. If the problem is this common, there should be a recall to have this issue fixed.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and repaired however, the failure persisted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V739000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH, the contact was going down a winding road. the contact was depressed on brakes pedal would not fully stop until the contact depressed on the brake pedal all the way to floor for the vehicle to stop. The contact had to pulled ;the vehicle over to the side of the road a wait a few minutes for the brake pedal to come back up. The contact was able to continue to drive however the contact is now hearing squeaking noise coming from the brakes while driving. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed the failure as the rotor and caliber on service brakes would need replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,395.
My vehicle stalled twice while pulling out into traffic. It starts back up but I have to put it in park and then restart it.
The P2122 OBD-II trouble, or fault, code means that the vehicle's on-board computer has detected low voltage in the throttle position sensor (TPS), which is usually below 0.17 volts. The battery is also at 8.3 volts indicating a potential short somewhere and potentially a faulty alternator. This is not what you want while driving a vehicle.
We have had numerous incidents with our vehicle starting at about 20,000 miles and still happening at 39,000 miles. While driving all of the lights come on, on the dashboard while at the same time the car loses power - losing brakes and power steering. Most recently, the car locked itself after closing the door, the radio has completely turned off to a black screen, eventually restarts itself. While stopped at a red light, it felt like I got rear ended, a bang sound and the car jerked forward. We have only had Jeep dealerships work on the car. The PCM has been replaced, as well as the alternator. They did find a small wire that was rubbing and repaired that as well, However, the problem still persists. This is a major safety issue, I feel this car should not be on the road, we are lucky that no one has been hurt at this point. The last time this happened my husband was making a left turn at an intersection and was very close to being in a serious accident. It is currently in the dealership (for the 5th time).
At least three times the Jeep has turned off while at a stop but still in drive. The automatic start seems to be related. Now the automatic start has shut off on its own (was not manually disengaged). The first couple of times this occurred we were at a light and the auto start was on so the Jeep went idle. When we pushed to turn the auto start button to off , the vehicle completely shut down while in drive. We had to pt Jeep in park and restart engine.
On several occasions my vehicle turned off while driving. When vehicle turns off, steering wheel locks up and my turn signals do not work. We bought and replaced a new battery. Within a week the issue started again. Today it happened twice within 45 minutes apart. Again, the car completely turns/shuts off. We have to find a safe way to stop, put it in park, wait a couple of minutes then turn it back on.
My car has randomly started leaking between the transmission and engine, its causing my jeep to constantly have to be refilled on oil, I spoke with the dealership near me, and I cant be booked for another 2 weeks, Im not sure this is healthy for my vehicle nor my family due to this being our family car.
Vehicle will not unlock or respond to key fab, after waiting it sometimes does, other times disconnecting negative battery cable and reconnecting it, function is restored. Far worse is at time when driving total electrical system failure occurs, engine fails, all dash board lights fail, light turn lane indicators and door locks. This has happened repeatedly and last time in heavy freeway traffic exiting. Took car to dealer and he said it was a low battery, this is the 3rd battery in 20 months. Dealer had car for 7 days and returned it now with Electronic Start Stop not functioning, after 3 weeks problems are still there, an independent mechanic says these are known Jeep problems, and confirmed it is not low battery voltage, I'm an electrical engineer and these failures happen when battery is at 14.0 volts, fully charged after 90 minutes of driving, and then car will start perfectly to only fail again. At this time I feel it's not safe to drive .
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while stationary, the vehicle would stall. The contact stated no warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and repaired but continued to experience the same issue. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Front panel electrical lights and radio do not work
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that after the vehicle had an oil changed performed by an independent mechanic, the contact noticed that there was oil leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic and diagnosed as a transmission leakage. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer and diagnosed with a cracked oil filter adapter from the oil change by the independent mechanic. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,397.
The car was being operated by my daughter Nicole on the highway when the car in front of her stops suddenly. The collision avoidance system did not engage there was no warning and the brakes did not automatically engage. It resulted in a minor rear end collision without airbags. The dealer has already checked the system and says there are no faults. I have other Chrysler vehicles and I have seen the system activate on all of them at one point or another. Never before has one not activated in a situation where it should have.
(Continental Pro Contact Tx 225/55R18 - mold numbers 417777 and 408589) Tire belts in both passenger side tires failed at the same time while driving on the interstate. The car started shaking while I was driving. There was no warning, no loss of tire pressure. Broken tire belts confirmed by dealer. Dealer disposed of tires because they were not told to hold them by Continental Tires. Tires mold numbers are not part of previous recall, but seem to have had same issue.
My husband and my son were driving my Jeep on the highway going 70 MPH when with no warning there was absolutely NO power steering and almost went off the road over an embankment. Luckily it was my husband driving because I would not have been able to control the car. When researching this year of Jeep, there is a recall for this issue on only a certain number of vehicles, but of course when I put my VIN in my vehicle is not on the recall list and I also see several complaints of the same issue with the steering and not being on the recall list. This is a HUGE safety issue and NEEDS to be address immediately.
My vehicle turned off in traffic, the emergency break kicked in, jerked my car backwrads, and then turned back on almost causing me to wreck. It has happened three times.
This particular year and model of jeep has 2 recalls not registered to my VIN number related to my accident. Airbags- impact and acceleration sensors. Steering- steering rack gear. Tonight while driving my jeep to my local walmart, my steering completely quit and locked up on me causing me to go off the road, hit a speed limit sign, almost roll my vehicle, and cause possible irreparable damage that may total my vehicle all together. The impact was hard enough to cave in my whole front passenger side fender, rip my mirror completely off, dent both passenger doors deeply, bend my door frames, and almost completely tore off my rear fender. During this, my air bags did not deploy, and I know the accident was bad enough that they should have. This could have been life threatening, and could have ended entirely worse than what it did. My power steering pump seems to be working fine, but my jeep itself is still registering it as a power steering issue, which makes me believe that there are significant electrical issues with the jeep itself.
Air bag service light intermittently comes on. Random occurrences however light will remain illuminated, clear after a period of time the car is off. Days later light may come on or weeks. Taken to dealership several times however since the light is intermittently illuminating they can't "re-create the issue".
Check engine light came on. Had it diagnosed within 5 minutes. Code P0123 came up. That is the “Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch “A” Circuit High Input”. Specific part # 5184349AF. It is built into the throttle body, so whole throttle body must be replaced. Vehicle only has 40,000 miles. Parts Dept at dealer told me they had several of these parts in stock. He was surprised. They only do that when they know there is a problem. It is a safety issue. It can fail and cause engine to quit. Jeep refuses to acknowledge an existing problem. It needs government investigation for safety. I can send picture of diagnosis printout if needed.
I bought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee in February 2021. I've had issues with the vehicle not starting about 2 months after I bought it. Recently I have had to jump start my car to get it started. On the highway this evening all these warning lights were popping up, and my vehicle just shut off, everything. Thankfully I was able to get into the breakdown lane. After a while, I was able to start my vehicle and check the vehicle information. My battery voltage was at 17.1. I safely got my vehicle home. I let the car sit. Then tested the voltage on the battery and it was normal. The alternator was good as well. However, the minute I start my car, the batter voltage is in the red again. My 5 year old daughter was in the vehicle, I was driving on interstate 84 in Connecticut. We could have been injured or killed if I did not get to the side of the road.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while reversing at approximately 3 MPH, the parking brake light illuminated, and the parking brake independently engaged. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and was able to disengage the parking brake. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, however the parking brake had recently engaged while the vehicle was rolling forward in neutral while going through a car wash. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE22009 (Parking Brake) open investigation. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
On hot days/days when A/C is running, the car will fully shut off when stopping at a stop light when the auto-off functionality is on (which is by default “on” with every ignition cycle). The lights go out, the dashboard computer and instrument panel go dark and then the car does a hard reignition. From time to time the the car will not turn back on automatically giving an error to the effect of “power On/Off required.” In this instance the vehicle must be shifted to park to be able to reignite the engine chambers and then the vehicle must be put back in drive - taking ~30 seconds and causing traffic snarls - endangering fellow travelers and those in the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the low oil warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the road and add oil before continuing driving to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the power train control module to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,400.
Our Jeep Cherokee caught fire spontaneously on Friday night around 11:30pm. The fire started at the front of the passenger side of the vehicle. The fire started shortly after a warning message that read "4WD overheated. Temporarily unavailable." There were 3 adults and 1 infant in the vehicle that were put at risk during this incident. Not only due to the fire starting in the vehicle but being stranded on the side of a major highway for over an hour. EMT, Police, and Fire Department responded to the call. We are pending a review by insurance representatives and the manufacturer. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
My family and I drove from San Antonio, TX to El Paso, TX on [XXX]. In the car were 4 passengers, including a 11 month old child. At the start of the drive, a warning message that read "4WD overheated. Temporarily unavailable" was seen. The alert showed 1 time and upon a quick search online, was seemingly insignificant. It never showed up again during the drive. We did leave around 4pm so the sun was out and hot, we believed it to be a temporary warning that would not affect our drive as we did not need 4WD during the drive. The jeep did not have a lot of miles on it and was only serviced at the dealership at appropriate windows as recommended by professionals. Once we reached El Paso, a strong smell occurred. Followed shortly by fire and flames coming from the front area, under the hood, near the engine. We pulled off to the side of the road while the flames grew bigger. The infant and all 4 adults were able to exit the vehicle timely but the fire was very large. Many onlookers stopped to check on our welfare. There was an investigation done but all that was said was that there was in fact a fire, and it did in fact start near the front of the vehicle by the engine. Chrysler said they could not determine anything further as there was damage from the fire. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact called on behalf of her son who owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently shut down. The contact waited a few moments and then restarted the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the instrument panel was blank. Additionally, the brakes would lock while depressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
While driving my 2019 Jeep Cherokee with 18,261 miles suddenly the vehicle completely stop in the middle of the road.Lucky this happened on a side street not on a highway or a busy intersection that could have resulted in a injury or even a death.I was trying to step on the gas pedal but the vehicle would not move.I have noticed on my center console display was black nothing was display no radio or climate controls. On my front dashboard display had a warning of SERVICE TRANSMISSION RESTART IN PARK.The engine light was display also the battery, emergency parking brake, and the traction control was display. This event happen five times in two days. I have taken this vehicle to a Jeep Dealership and they are saying that the transmission needs to be replaced.I am saying to myself that this is a Jeep Cherokee with 18,261 miles on it. This type of vehicle should have a nationwide recall and the NHTSA should have a hard look at this situation and the consumer complaints on this vehicle. This type of vehicle should not be driven on a public road or even a highway. For a consumer driver this type of vehicle is unacceptable the vehicle is a death trap.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that his wife was driving and stopped at a red light; when the light turned green, the driver attempted to accelerate and the vehicle began to slowly accelerate at a low speed and the vehicle shuddered and stalled. The driver restarted the vehicle to continue driving however, the failure recurred intermittently several times. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost motive power, shuddered and jerked making it difficult to steer the vehicle. The vehicle swerved into an intersection and into the grass. The contact manually steered the vehicle back into the lane and pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road. The contact inspected the vehicle but could not find a cause for the failure. The contact continued driving to the residence with only manual steering available. There was a power steering warning light illuminated on the vehicle after the failure occurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
The contact owned a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated after parking the vehicle near her residence, she saw fire coming from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact exited the vehicle with her dog before the fire caused an explosion and consumed the vehicle. The fire department extinguished the fire. A police report was filed. The contact was not injured nor sought medical attention. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance provider. The contact called and notified the local dealer of the failure. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.
In January of 2021 I was driving my vehicle out of the car wash when it suddenly accelerated on its own across a busy roadway out of the parking lot. The vehicle was going 65 MPH without my foot on the gas. I had to keep my foot on the brake to control its speed and get myself to work that way. I got the car to stop in those parking lot and put the vehicle in Park. The RPMs shot up to 5000, the Stop Start and a couple of other warning lights were on. I shut the vehicle off, restarted it and then it was fine as if nothing ever happened. After work I brought the vehicle to the dealer, they checked the OBD computer and verified that the incident happened. They replaced some sensor and everything was fine until May 20th, 2021. On that day the vehicle started to accelerate on its own again. I immediately pulled into a Walmart parking lot, put the vehicle in Park, took a picture of the dashboard to show the dealer and turned the vehicle off. I did not run the car long enough for the warning lights to come on. I restarted the vehicle and again it was as if nothing happened. I bright the vehicle to my dealership and as of 06/08/2021 it is still there waiting on Chrysler to figure something out. The dealer cannot fix it unless they can get it to happen again because I did not run the car long enough for the OBD computer to register and record the second incident as per Chrysler’s policy.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee stalled at a red light, stalled inside a car wash (brake light on) unable to move. Then twice this week stalled at stop sign battery light came on. Battery is perfectly clean all connections are tight.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the electric power steering failed and the steering wheel ceased. The power steering assist warning light was illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle in manual steering mode to his residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 65,000.
About 2 weeks after the extended warranty expired on my 2019 Cherokee I began to notice the Service 4 wheel drive message pop up on my dash. I took the vehicle to the dealership and was told that the PTU was faulty and that it would be $2200 to repair. As I could not afford it at that time I was advised that I could continue to drive without repair although I should not try to change traction modes on my vehicle. I have now gone nearly 3 years without repair and still very much feed that this is a defect that should be repaired by Jeep on all Cherokees that were manufactured around the same time as mine.
Aug 29,2019 I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude new from Town Chrysler Jeep of Wenatchee WA. Shortly after I had several issues with the vehicle. My main concern is at times we are not able to accelerate when needed w/no warning. I brought the vehicle in to the dealership . I was told no codes were stored and sent away . This has happened to my family and I several times almost causing us to get into collisions. The last incident occurred May 5th, 2021 again not able to accelerate when I needed. We have jeopardized our safety as well as the publics too many times. I again took the vehicle into the dealership and demanded them to figure out the issue again, as we are not safe driving it. The General manager Clayton was in contact with the Chrysler Corporation and the star technician. Clayton requested buy back of the vehicle. They declined his request so I filed a case #, I again stated my concerns for safety which now brings us to day 77 and the vehicle still sits at the dealership. They only drove it 46 miles, when I was told it was being driven daily. Unacceptable, I told the dealership as well as my case worker that at times I could go 2 months w/out incident , there is no warning what so ever, and only driving the vehicle 1.67 miles per day is not taking this malfunction seriously. This is not going be enough driving to "duplicate" the issue. Unfortunately I ended up leaving the vehicle on the lot and purchasing a different one as we have a surgery coming up on July 30th and needed my focus to be on family. I still have concern for public safety if this vehicle is resold. I expressed this many times to Corporate as well the dealership. I no longer own the the vehicle I took the loss for safety but I feel the need to continue to express my concerns. I also want to add how poorly I was treated by Corporate which was completely unnecessary . Thank you for your time !
My vehicle has has these issues since I bought them but were unaware of how to report them. I also got a recall letter about my PTU failure and Feldman Jeep in Livonia falsely reported the recall completed and it wasn’t. My car is noisy and vibrational when driving higher speeds, service 4wd messages and noise when I turn the automatic brakes off.
WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP WILL STALL AT A STOP SIGN OR TURNING. SO STALLS WHILE STOPPED OR MOVING. PUT IT IN PARK, THEN EVENTUALLY STARTS. SCARY BECAUSE AS IT IS TRYING TO START MY FLASHERS DO NOT WORK. HAVE HAD EVERYTHING CHECKED AND BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND ENGINE SHOW NO CODES OR THAT THEY ARE OK.
SERVICE LIGHT ON DASH "SVC 4WD" TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP STATED POWER TRANSFER UNIT SOLENOID BAD. ORDERED PART AND WHEN RECEIVED PULLED PTU OFF VEHICLE AND REMOVED SOLENOID. SAW THAT PTU HAD INTERNAL DAMAGE AND ORDERED NEW PTU. REPLACED PTU WHEN RECEIVED. THIS IS SAME FAILURE OF THE 2014-2018 CHEROKEES RECALL. MY 2019 WAS NOT INCLUDED.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED (COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITH NO STEERING ABILITY) WHILE DRIVING ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. NO WARNING LIGHTS OF LOW OIL OR ISSUE WITH VEHICLE. BURNING THROUGH OIL AT 1 QUART FOR EVERY 800 MILES (UNHEARD OF) FOR CASUAL DRIVING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS. CAR WILL REV VERY HIGH AND NOT CHANGE GEARS SMOOTHLY. HESITATION ON STARTING AND HESITATION AND SPUTTERING ON NORMAL ACCELERATION. MANY ISSUES AND HAVE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN 3 MONTHS.
WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THIS HAPPENED TWICE, SO I TOOK IT TO LIBERTY JEEP IN LIBERTYVILLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO DO A PCM REPROGRAM AND THAT IT WILL NOW BURN 1 QUART OF OIL PER EVERY 1000 MILES AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT TO CONTINUE TO TOP OF THE OIL SO THE JEEP DOESN'T SHUT DOWN. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR A DEALERSHIP TO SAY. I AM FEARFUL OF DRIVING LONG DISTANCE ON HIGHWAYS WITH THIS NOW AND WOULD LIKE TO GET OUT OF THIS LEASE. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO DISCUSS WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVEN'T HAD ANY LUCK. OWNER OR MANAGERS DO NOT RETURN ANY EMAILS OR PHONE CALL. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING.
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL" LIGHT COMES ON AND EITHER THE CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY (EVEN AFTER TURNING CAR OFF AND ON) OR THE CAR SHUTS OFF AND WON'T RESTART. WHEN THE CAR WON'T RESTART, YOU CAN'T EVEN PUT THE CAR IN NUETRAL TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE WAY, BUT THE RADIO AND DASHBOARD DO LIGHT UP - ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT IS ON. WITH THE ACCELERATION ISSUE, IF I'M ON THE FREEWAY AND NEED TO ACCELERATE TO PASS A CAR OR MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, I CAN'T - IT'S WAY TOO SLOW. I HAVE TO JUST STAY IN THE SLOW LANE AND BE VERY CAREFUL. I'VE BROUGHT IN TO DEALERSHIPS 4 TIMES FROM NOV 2019 TO MARCH 2021. ONCE THEY JUST TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF AND SAID IT WAS FINE BECAUSE IT RESET ITSELF. THE NEXT TIME, THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY. THE NEXT TIME THEY REPLACED A SWITCH FOR THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY, THE NEXT THEY SAID THE BATTERY TERMINALS WERE LOOSE AND CORRODED.
SINCE I BOUGHT OUR 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE NEW, THE HOOD HAS HAD A BAD FLUTTER. IT FLUTTERS BAD ENOUGH THAT IT SETS OFF THE AUTO STOP/START LIGHT. HAVE HAD IT INTO THE DEALER AT LEAST 6 TIMES AND NO RESOLUTION. IT FLUTTERS SO BAD THAT IT SEEMS THE HOOD IS ACTUALLY GOING TO FLY OPEN. IT REALLY GETS BAD WHEN YOU PASS ANOTHER VEHICHLE.
Going from park to reverse the vehicle Reverse starts flashing and driving forward. This happened to me in January 2021 and March 2021. During parallel parking the breaks also decide to turn on. Driving slow in a parking lot the engine has turned itself off. It has done this indefinitely while Driving where the engine light turns on. Shifting from drive to park has also caused the vehicle to reverse. Shifting from park to drive has caused the D to blink and start reversing. The car is hard in steering at times and the radio and Ac have random turned themselves on while I’m driving without me doing it. Since the computer is recalled I do believe these issues mean the vehicle has a transmission issue. It cannot calibrate what gear it’s in properly.
FM RADIO FADES IN AND OUT. AND VOLUME CHANGES DRASTICALLY WITH DIFFERENT STATION CHANGES. SOMETIMES RESTARTING THE CAR HELPS.
