FOR THE PAST 4 DAYS, MY VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. IT HAPPENS EACH TIME WHILE DECELERATING, BUT STILL IN MOTION. THERE ARE/WERE RECALLS ON THE EXACT YEAR AND ENGINE MODELS AS MY VEHICLE, BUT ACCORDING TO MY VIN, MINE IS NOT INCLUDED SO I AM FILING A REPORT. IT IS A 2019 2.4L AND STALLS WHEN IN MOTION.
MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE WITH THE 2.4L HAS REPEATEDLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING SINCE PURCHASING 4 MONTHS AGO. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I SEE THERE'S BEEN MANY RECALLS ON SIMILAR VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE AND YEAR AS MINE, HOWEVER MINE IS NOT COVERED. CONSIDERING MY VEHICLE IS ALSO STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND DECELERATING, I AM FILING A COMPLAINT TO BROADEN THE RECALL TO INCLUDE MORE VINS. ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS, MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING WHEN SLOWING DOWN BUT STILL IN MOTION. IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING FOR THE PAST WEEK WHEN DECELERATING.
SERVICE LIGHT ON DASH "SVC 4WD" TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY TOLD ME IN 30 MINUTES IT WAS THE TRANSFER CASE GONE BAD. 2014-17 HAD A RECALL ON THE SAME ISSUE, AND THEY ALREADY KNEW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. YOUR 2019 WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS RECALL YET, BUT IT IS GOING TO COST YOUR $3,500 FOR US TO FIX IT. A FULL DIAGNOSES REQUIRES THE TRANSFER CASE TO BE REMOVE AND A TEST TO SEE IF THE GEARS TURN, AND THAT IS A 4.5 HOUR LABOR JOB. THIS WAS NOT DONE, BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP ALREADY KNEW THE TRANSFER CASE WAS FAULTY. I CALLED JEEP AND OPENED A CASE # 78851829, BUT THEY TOLD ME IT WAS VIN# SENSITIVE AND THE 2019 CHEROKEES HAVE NOT BEEN ADDED TO THE RECALL FOR THE 2014-17 YET. SAVE MY RECEIPTS, SO I CAN BE REIMBURST ON THIS MODEL IS ADDED.
We purchased the 2019 Jeep Cherokee new from a Jeep dealership. At 15,000 miles (approx.) the hood began to bounce up and down 1/2" to 3/4" while driving at highway speeds, driving into a wind or following a semi-truck. In addition to the obviously concern over the safety of the hood bouncing and potentially unlatching, this causes the auto start/stop function of the engine to malfunction. We had the Jeep dealership inspect the problem several times under the 36,000 mile warranty period and they adjusted the hood each time, but the hood bouncing would return in a matter of days or a week. They failed to resolve the issue under warranty. Now, we have 79,300 miles on the vehicle and the hood was inspected by a Jeep dealership and it has been adjusted to the maximum adjustment and the hood still bounces dangerously. The dealership now tells us that the panel bond in the hood is broken and has compromised the strength of the hood and that the hood should be replaced. The dealer compared our hood and latch to the hoods and latches of similar vehicles on the lot to make the determination of the broken hood bond. Jeep Consumer Care tells us that Jeep will not cover the hood replacement even though this constitutes a safety issue of the hood potentially unlatching at highway speeds. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate and implement a safety recall.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the message “Four Wheel Drive System Requires Maintenance” was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the power transfer unit (PTU) was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); as a possible cause for the failure; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 61,500.
OIL CHANGE AND RECALL COMPLETED 3,000 MILES AGO FOR OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. DROVE 3,000 MILES AND STALLED ON ROADWAY IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING A RIGHT HAND TURN. DURING SHUTDOWN THERE WAS STEERING CONTROL LOSS. PULLED CAR OFF ROAD AND CHECKED DIPSTICK. DIPSTICK WAS DRY. ADDED 2.5 QUARTS OIL. THIS CAR STILL CONSUMES APPROXIMATELY .75 QUARTS OF OIL PER 1,000 MILES. WILL RESTART OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WITH JEEP DEALER IMMEDIATELY.*DT CONSUMER STATED HE WOULD LIKE THE CASE CLOSED, ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED.*JB
6 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE IT STALLED OUT OF NO WHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND STALLED AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES IT STARTED BACK UP I TOOK IT IN THEY SAID IT WAS THE BATTERY BUT I DOUBT IT CAUSE IT WAS 6 MONTHS OLD. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND DIDN'T WANT TO START UNTIL THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AGAIN AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE OIL BEING LOW I CHECKED THE OIL MYSELF AND IT WAS FULL AND CLEAN NOW IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME A THIRD TIME STALLED ON THE FREE WAY WITH INCOMING TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND STALL OUT OF NO WHERE I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE NO MORE! I THINK IT HAS AN ENGINE ELECTRICAL ISSUE.
WE BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY 17-YEAR-OLD SON FROM CARFAX. IT SEEMED GREAT FOR A FEW MONTHS, BUT THE ENGINE STARTING SHUTTING OFF WHILE HE WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE BUSY ROADS OF HOUSTON. WHEN WE PUT OIL IN THE CAR, THE ENGINE SHUTOFF STOPS, BUT IT COMES BACK WITHIN A MONTH. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. HE HAS HAD A NUMBER OF CLOSE CALLS. PLEASE HELP!
CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THANKFULLY COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY WITH MINIMAL USE OF THE STEERING WHEEL. I PUT IT IN PARK AND GOT IT TO START AGAIN. THEN IT OCCURRED AGAIN A FEW MINUTES LATER AFTER I HAD EXITED THE FREEWAY ON A SIDE STREET. AGAIN PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN GOT IT TO RESTART AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS. ALL OF THIS WITH A BABY IN THE BACKSEAT.*DT THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICE ON 2/15/21 AND THE ONLY DEFECT FOUND WAS A LOOSE BATTERY TERMINAL.
2019 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK RANDOMLY SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL. NOT SPECIFIC TO SPEED, CLIMATE OR TERRAIN. COMMONLY OCCURS DURING REDUCING AND ACCELERATION SPEEDS. WHILE DRIVING THE RPM WILL RISE SIGNIFICANTLY RESULTING IN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT TO ENGAGE AND A P061B TROUBLE CODE. CONTINUED ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE RESULTS IN CONSISTENT ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (DUE TO THE P061B). AIR FILTER IS CLEAN WITH NO ADDITIONAL OBSTRUCTIONS. WHEEL/TIRE SIZE ARE AT FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS AND ARE ORIGINAL TO THE VEHICLE. TRANSMISSION REGAINS TRACTION WHEN VEHICLE COASTS TO 10 - 15 MPH. WITH THE "TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE UPDATE" THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR. AGAIN THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE HAPPENS RANDOMLY WITHOUT ANY WARNING, SOUNDS, OR PHYSICAL JOLT OR ABNORMAL MOVEMENT WHILE DRIVING.
ENGINE STALLS OUT RANDOMLY ON THE HIGHWAY AND RUNS ITSELF COMPLETELY OUT OF OIL. TRANSMISSION LUNGES/JOLTS THROUGH GEARS.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WAS SAID THAT IT WAS THE EVAPORATOR CANISTER AND THAT IT HAD TO BE REPLACED.
BACKED INTO DRIVEWAY, VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING THEN I SAW FLAMES RESULTING IN MY WHOLE FRONT EMD GOING UP IN FLAMES. NO WORK DONE NO PROBLEMS ORNINDICATION OF THIS PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING. FIRE DEPT HAD TO COME AND PUT OUT FIRE
AFTER LEAVING MY VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP OVER NIGHT AND BEING TOLD I JUST NEED TO MAKE SURE I COME BACK IN 300 MILES TO RUN ANOTHER TEST SO THEY CAN CHECK THE LEVELS OF THE OIL , I EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS WITH THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT FEARING FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, MY AGING MOTHER, CHILDREN, UNBORN GRANDCHILD, AND HER FATHER ; SERVICE ADVISOR ASSURED ME ONCE I DROVE VEHICLE MY FEARS WILL ALL BE AT EASE BECAUSE IT WAS ALREADY TEST DRIVEN AND WAS "GOOD TO GO SAFELY" I RECLUCTANTLY AGREED AND WHEN GOT IN MY CAR IT DID NOT START AND ON THE 3RD TIME IT STRUGGLED TO GET ON AND SOUNDED LOUDER THAN I HAVE EVER HEARD IT -I WENT BACK INTO THE SERVICE DEPT AND REFUSED TO TAKE IT LIKE THAT
OUR 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED HAS JUST OVER 12K MILES. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (DASHBOARD, RADIO SCREEN DISPLAY, AND GEAR SHIFT LIGHTS) GO BLACK OR DARK GREY, AND WE HAVE NOTHING DISPLAYED - SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE, CLIMATE CONTROLS, MESSAGES, OR ANY OTHER SAFETY INFORMATION. WE ARE JUST DRIVING ALONG, AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER JUST QUITS WORKING. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES NOW. THREE TIMES THE DISPLAY CAME BACK ON AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, ONCE AFTER STOPPING THE CAR AND RESTARTING, WHILE ONE OTHER TIME IT DID NOT WORK AGAIN UNTIL WE STARTED THE CAR THE NEXT MORNING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE WE ARE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY VITAL INFORMATION. WE HAVE TAKEN OUR JEEP TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS WHO DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE THEY SAID THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES DISPLAYED. THEY STATED WE WOULD NEED THE JEEP AT THEIR DEALERSHIP INDEFINITELY AND THEY WOULD NEED TO DRIVE IT EVERY DAY UNTIL IT HAPPENED WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP. WE EVEN POINTED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIPS THAT THERE WAS ALREADY A RECALL ON 2019 JEEP CHEROKEES FOR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILING, BUT THEY SAID OURS WAS NOT ONE OF THE JEEPS IN THE RECALL. JAN (2X) & 3X THE FRST WEEK IN FEB. EXPRESSED CONCERNS BECAUSE I'VE BEEN TOLD ON NUMEROUS DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THAT IT WAS GOOD TO GO& ONCE I DRIVE IT I WOULD FEEL SO CONFIDENT, BECAUSE HE ALREADY TOOK IT FOR A DRIVE. BUT I NEEDED TO BRING BACK OIL CHANGE IN ABOUT 300 MILES AND THEN THEY'LL DO ANOTHER TEST TO SEE IF THAT IS ANOTHER RECALL ISSUE. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH 29 MILES FROM YOUR DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO BE WORRIED ABOUT VEHICLE ISSUES ESPECIALLY SINCE MY BOTH MY DAUGHTERS ARE LEARNING TO DRIVE IN THIS VEHICLE. MY 15 YEAR OLD PREGNANT DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS VEHICLE MORE THAN I DO BECAUSE I'M AT THE OFFICE AND SHE RUNS MY ERRANDS AND I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE EVEN ALLOWING THEM TO BE A PASSENGER LET ALLOW DRIVE IT TO AND FROM THEIR PRACTICES WHEN I HAVE TO WORK. WELL, I WAS REASSURED AGAIN JUST TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT NEEDS AN OIL CHANGE (300 MILES AWAY) IN MOTION RECALL ID#: 286936
I DRIVE A 2019 JEEP GRAND CHAROKEE LATITUDE. I APPROACHED A STOP LIGHT LAST MONTH AT A MAJOR INTERSETION AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST REARENDED ME WITH MY NEW BORN. OMG THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IF IT JUST SHUTS OFF FOR NO REASON. LATER THIS MONTH THE FRONT SUSPENSION STARTED MAKING ALOT OF NOISE. THE CAR HAS 43000 MILES. OBSERVED THE PASSANGER SIDE STRUT MOUNT CLIP THAT KEEP THE STRUT FROM SEPERATING FROM WHEEL WHEEL LOOSE. STRUT FAILED AND CAUSED ISSUES WITH DRIVE TRAIN. CAR IS ON BLOCKS IN MY GARAGE KNOW AWAITING STRUTS AND STRUT MOUNTS. THE JEEP USED A VERY SMALL PLASTIC CLIP TO SECURE THE TOP PART OF THE STRUT, SO IN MY CASE WHEN THE STRUT FAILED, THE CLIP CAME LOOSE AND ALMOST SEPERATED LEAVEING THE TOP OF STRUT UN-ATTACHED TO ANYTHING OMG! THIS A HUG SAFTY ISSUE. WHY HAS NHTSA NOT INVESTIGATED THIS POOR DESIGN. A PLACSTIC CLIP TO HOLD A STRUT THAT IS SUPPORTING THE FRONT END OF A VEHICLE!!.
Unknown of what the issue is but since I bought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude recently I've took it in for service multiple times paid out of pocket because when I slow down it shudders bad and stalls at time this is dangerous I was on the highway and it stalled dead right in the lane and a semi truck almost crashed into me. I took it to the dealership they first said my oil was 1 quart low which I didn't believe then they did a pcm update on another visit and problem is still there this almost gave me a heart attack I could have got killed! Either reimburse me for the problems or investigate what this could be.
1) The radio screen display has become streaky. The term used by the dealer is "delamination". This "delamination" can be easily seen whether radio is on or off. 2) The Uconnect function of the radio without prompting: a) Switches back and forth between Satelite radio and AM radio. b) Randomly calls people on the phone contact list. Numbers 1 and 2 above cause driver distraction and makes it harder to read vehicle information such as back up camera and navigation displays. The dealer has confirmed "delamination". There were no warning lamps, messages, etc. The issue first occurred in February 2021.
2019 JEEP CHEROKEE IS DOING EVERYTHING THAT THE POWER TRAIN RECALL WAS LISTED FOR IN 2018 BUT THIS VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE HAS BROKE DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES WITHOUT WARNING AND I HAVE EVEN BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY JUST TO FIND OUT THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. THE MOST RECENT TIME IT BROKE DOWN IT WAS STATIONARY, ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON ACROSS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE WARNING LIGHTS HAVE FLASHED LIKE THAT BEFORE WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY AND CITY.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE INTERSTATE, 5 DAYS AFTER BEING BROUGHT IN FOR INSPECTION, AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DIED. 2.4L ENGINE FOR THIS MODEL MUST BE RECALLED!
MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING, ON A CITY STREET,CAUSING ME GREAT PANIC, WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT, I WASN'T ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. TOOK 3 TRYS TO GET IT STARTED AGIN.I CALLED DEALER, TOOK IT RIGHT OVER, MECHANIC SAID OIL WASN'T TOUGHING DIP STICK. NO WARNING LIGHTS OF ANY KIND CAME ON, TO LET ME KNOW THERE WAS A PROBLEM, THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE!, AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED!
SLOWING TO A STOP LIGHT AND VEHICLE STALLED OUT LOSING ALL POWER. THE VEHICLE HAS ALREADY HAD THE RECALLS ASSOCIATED COMPLETED AND HAD A RECENT OILS CHANGE. THE DAY AFTER THE RECALLS, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN BEFORE COMING TO A FULL STOP. TWICE IT WAS ON A HIGHWAY, ONCE IN A DRIVEWAY, ONCE IN AN INTERSECTION COMING OFF A BRIDGE. TWICE IN MOTION OTHERS WERE AT A STOP. I LOST COUNT AND THE ISSUE IS INCONSISTENT. MOST RECENT 1/24/21
JUST PURCHASED 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK THIS WEEK. IT HAS 27000 MILES ON IT. WENT TO FILL GAS TANK AT GAS STATION; JEEP WOULDN'T START. I HAD TO USE THE REMOTE START OPTION TO START WHILE SITTING IN THE JEEP WHICH LED THE HORN TO BLOW CONTINUOUSLY.
THE A/C DOES NOT WORK AT ALL , THE CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD .
WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE STEERING HAS A 'STICKY' SPOT THAT MAKES MINOR CORRECTIONS ON THE ROAD MORE DIFFICULT. IT'S AS IF YOU OVER CORRECT TO GET PAST THE STICKY SPOT. IT CAN BE SCARY TO YOU FOR FEAR OF OVER CORRECTING INTO ANOTHER LANE. I NOTICED IT AT ABOUT 15000 MILES. IT'S AT THE DEALER NOW. THEY ARE REPLACING THE RACK AND PINION STEERING. UNSURE IF THIS WILL FIX THE PROBLEM OR PUT A BANDAID ON IT.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP IN THE VEHICLE, THE 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE (BOUGHT USED AT 52,000MI) AT 59,000MI NOW POWERS OFF RANDOMLY. APPARENTLY THIS IS DUE TO A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT WAS RECALLED, BUT I DO NOT SEE MY VIN AVAILABLE FOR SERVICE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS I AM AFRAID OF A NEWISH CAR TURNING OFF WHILE ON THE ROAD.
THIS VEHICLE STALLS OUT IN TRAFFIC AND STUTTERS WHEN STARTED. EVEN WHEN THE AUTOSTART BUTTON IS "ON" THE CAR HESITATES AND STALLS FROM STOP TO GO. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT FROM AN INTERSECTION FROM A STOP. THE SUV SMELLS OF BURNING OILS ALL THE TIME. I SET A SERVICE APPT WITH THE DEALER TO ASSESS THE STALLING PROBLEM AND BURNING OIL SMELL. I WAS TOLD THAT THE STALLING WAS FROM THE "ENGINE PERFORMANCE" AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. AS FAR AS THE BURNING OIL SMELL, I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE BURNS THROUGH 1 QUART OF OIL PER 1,000 MILES AND I WILL NEED TO CONSTANTLY CHECK THE OIL. THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, IT IS THE WAY IT IS MADE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! JEEP HAS NOT BEEN VERY HELPFUL.
A COUPLE TIMES NOW MY JEEP HAS SHUT DOWN ALL ELECTRICAL SPELL PROPULSION EVERYTHING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND IT'S VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY THIS MORNING WHEN I WAS IN AN INTERSECTION WITH A SEMI BEARING BARRELING DOWN ON ME AND I HAD NO STEERING NO BRAKES NO PROPULSION NOTHING THEN THE D FOR DRIVE ON THE DASH STARTED BLINKING ALL SERVICING IS UP TO DATE AND NOW THERE IS A WARNING LIGHT
CAR WITH 60,000 MILES ON IT IS CONSUMING LARGE AMOUNTS OF OIL. NO LOW OIL WARNING OR ANYTHING. INSTEAD THE VEHICLE STALLS COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS MERGING ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY YESTERDAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND THE CAR BEHIND ME HAD TO SWERVE INTO THE DITCH IN ORDER TO NOT HIT ME. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED TO BE JEEPS STANDARD PRACTICE FOR LETTING YOU KNOW YOUR OIL IS LOW. AND WHY ON EARTH DOES A NEW CAR BURN THROUGH OIL?
BOUGHT A USED 28K MILE 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE FWD ON DEC 20TH 2020. TOOK IT THROUGH A CAR WASH FIRST WEEKEND OF JANUARY 2021. AT END OF WASH WHEN YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO TAKE IT OUT OF NUETRAL AND INTO DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I COULD HEAR IT SPINNING BUT NO ACTION. I WAS ABLE TO COAST FORWARD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHERS LEAVING THE CAR WASH.THINKING IT WAS A FLUKE I TOOK IT BACK FOLLOWING WEEKEND. SAME THING HAPPENED. I COASTED TO A SAFE PLACE TO PARK. NO PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES. LIGHTS HAD BEEN FLASHING ON SHIFTER PANEL BUT HAD STOPPED BEFORE I READ WHAT WAS SAID. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP. THEY SCOPED IT AND REPORTED NO PROBLEMS. SAID IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO PUT CAR IN PARK , TURN CAR OFF AND RESTART AGAIN TO RESET COMPUTER WHICH WAS CONFUSED BY WHEELS TURNING IN NUETRAL THROUGH CAR WASH. SAID THEY HADNT HAD OTHER SUCH ISSUES. IVE NEVER OWNED A CAR WITH THIS ISSUE. I'M OF SOUND MIND BUT WAS VERY HARRIED AT THIS EVENT KNOWING OTHER CARS WERE RIGHT BEHIND ME !! DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. I CAN'T HAVE BOUGHT THE ONLY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE FWD VEHICLE WITH THIS ISSUE.
There is a stall when driving. A lot of the time when you stop and go it stalls for a second before it goes. It also happens when I am driving. If I am pressing on the gas it will stall as well. It has almost caused me to have an accident when it does the stall.
The car completely shut off mid highway and turned back on. Loss of power at times. My vehicle wasn’t in the recall I believe it should be.
AROUND 2:30 AM ON DECEMBER 30, 2020 I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE FREEWAY. IT WAS RAINING A LITTLE BIT BUT NOTHING TO WHAT I HAVE DRIVEN IN BEFORE. I SET MY CAR TO CRUISE AT 65 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED LOCKING UP. I FOUND THAT MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN THE WAY I WANTED IT TO AND WAS VEERING LEFT. I HAD TO USE SOME FORCE TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT AND NOT GET INTO OTHER LANES. I THOUGHT I WAS OKAY UNTIL A LIGHT LIT UP ON MY DASHBOARD. I BELIEVE IT WAS THE ENGINE LIGHT BECAUSE AS I HEARD IT GO OFF AND FLASH AT ME, MY CAR STARTED TO STALL UP AND THEN GO REPEATEDLY. AS IF IT WAS HARD FOR IT TO GRASP ON TO MOVING FORWARD. LAST NIGHT WAS THE SCARIEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE AND I HAND NEVER HAD THAT HAPPEN TO ME. ALMOST PULLED OVER BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRASH. I KEPT IT AT A STABLE 60 MPH AND OFF CRUISE CONTROL AS SOON AS THE STEERING WENT HAYWIRE AND IT SEEMED TO HAVE HELPED A BIT. I FEEL THE NEED TO GET MY CAR CHECKED BUT I ALSO BELIEVE THAT ALL OTHER 2019'S SHOULD GET RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE.
WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A STOP OR WHEN I SLOW DOWN TO A SLOW SPEED, THE ENGINE EITHER SHUTS OFF OR STALLS ON ME.
DRIVING INTO A INTERSECTION ON A STOP LIGHT MY CAR STOPS OUT OF NO WERE , CAN NOT GET IT STARTED LIGHTS START TURNING ON. STARTED TO GET PANIC CARS BEHIND BE STARTED HONKING. FINALLY GOT IT TO START.
COMING UP ON RED LIGHT I ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AND SLOW DOWN. PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. PREVIOUS WARNING OF AIRBAG SYSTEM ISSUE WAS REPORTED TO HERTZ. AIRBAG LIGHT WAS NOT ON BEFORE ACCIDENT.
VEHICLE CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. TOOK VEHICLE TO REPAIR SHOP, ALTHOUGH THEIR EMPLOYEE WITNESS THIS SHUT DOWN FOUR TIMES, TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO IDENTIFY WHY.
FAST FORWARD TO NOV OR DEC OF 2020- MY VEHICLE DID THE SAME THING, COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY. ON I35 GOING ABOUT 65-70 MPH. AGAIN, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD IT SOUNDED LIKE A MAINTENANCE PROBLEM.. A FEW WEEKS LATER, MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING TO PICK UP HER SISTER AT PRACTICE SHE CALLED ME TERRIFIED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN MID DRIVE AND WHILE SHE WAS AT TRAFFIC LIGHT I SHOWED THE SERVICE TECH THE VIDEO OF THE VEHICLE DOING THIS& HE TOLD ME THAT I NO LONGER HAD WARRANTY-IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $150 JUST FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS. I LEFT MY VEHICLE THERE FOR 3 DAYS, IN THOSE 3 DAYS I GOT SALESMAN CALLS ASKING TO TRADE IT IN AND NO CALLS FROM SERVICE NOTIFYING WHAT WAS BEING DONE TO MY CAR. THEN GET A CALL FROM SERVICE SAYING IT WAS GOING TO COST $400 TO FIX AND I NO WAS PAYING FOR ANOTHER FINANCIAL MESS WITH ANOTHER VEH; REC'D CALL FROM SER. EMPL. NOTHING WRONG WITH VEH- MISTAKEN MY CAR'S P/K WITH AUTO JUST NEED TO PUT MY AUTO BACKTHIS IS EXTERMLY UNSAFE BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TEACHING MY DAUGHTERS HOW TO DRIVE THEY WOULDNT KNOW HOW TO RESPOND

WHILE DRIVING, MY REAR HATCH WARNING CAME ON, I PULLED OVER TO REALIZE THAT THE LATCH WOULD NOT LOCK, CAUSING MY LIGHTS TO STAY ON, CAUSING A COLD ENVIRONMENT FOR MY 9 MONTHS OLD BABY, WITH THE DOOR NOT BEING ABLE TO SEAL. WITH THIS BROKEN, ALSO DISABLES MY REMOTE START, VOIDING ANY ANTI THEFT ABILITIES.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, UNKNOWN PROBLEM CONSOLE DISPLAY AND DISPLAY CONTROLS SWITCHED ERRATICALLY AND BECAME NONFUNCTIONAL, DISABLING CLIMATE CONTROLS, SWITCHING RADIO STATIONS, AND CONSOLE DISPLAY LIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS (SPEEDOMETER, COOLANT TEMP, FUEL ETC..) TURNED OFF. DANGEROUS CONDITION DUE TO NO HEATER DURING 9 DEGREE F WEATHER.
THE START/STOP HAD A SYSTEM FAILURE ABD NY CAR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFUC. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND MY CAR SHUT ITSELF DOWN AND THEN WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK IT STARTED TO GO BUT THEN IT IMMEDIATELY SHUT THE CAR TOTALLY OFF AND SAID THERE HAD BEEN A START STOP SYSTEM FAILURE.I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH MY RADIO NOT COMING ON WHEN I TURN MY CAR ON AND I HAVE TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH ALL OF A SUDDEN MY FLASHERS COMING ON FOR NO REASON AND I AM AWARE OF AND THEN I HAVE TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON FOR THEM TO STOP FIGHTING I ALSO HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE SEAT NOT GOING BACK INTO PLACE LIKE IT SUPPOSED TO ON THE MEMORY RECALL I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH MY CAR NOT BEEPING WHEN I'M GOING TO BACK UP AND THERE'S SOMEBODY BEHIND ME OR SOMEBODY COMING CLOSE TO BEING BEHIND ME AND I'VE ALMOST HIT SOMEONE ONCE BECAUSE THE ALARM DIDN'T GO OFF. THIS CAR SEEMS TO BE HAVING NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES BUT THE ONE I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE MOST IS THE FACT THAT THE CAR JUST DECIDED TO SHUT ITSELF OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP LIGHT OR TO TURN MY VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AND NOW AS I WAS TRYING TO LEAVE THE PARKING LOT IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START BRAKE BECAME HARD TO THE POINT WERE THE PEDDLE DIDN'T MOVE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AS WELL AS THE BATTERY LIGHT. WHEN ENTERING THE FREEWAY AND WAITING TO MERGE MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO START IT BACK UP AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE REAR HATCH DOOR ERRONEOUSLY OPENED CAUSING THE DOG TO FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER NEW SMYRNA BEACH JEEP LOCATED AT 2555 FL-44, NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL 32168 WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.*DT Consumer in addition loud noise, rattling and vibration coming from the engine while driving. Vehicle was taken to multiple service dealers.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS STALLED OUT, WITH OUT WARNING, WHILE I WAS DRIVING, ONCE ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MILES AN HOUR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALER I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS ENGINE, THE 2.4L HAS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM, IN THAT BURNS ABOUT A QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES AND WHEN THE OIL GETS TOO LOW THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF. NO WARNING LIGHTS, JUST SHUTS EVERYTHING OFF. AT 70 MILES PER HOUR IN TRAFFIC, HAVING THE ENGINE STOP AND SUDDENLY LOSING POWER STEERING AND TRYING TO MOVE THOUGH TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER WHILE RAPIDLY DECELERATING IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE DEALER AND FCA ARE OFFERING NO SOLUTIONS FOR THIS ISSUE. FROM A PUBLIC SAFETY PERSPECTIVE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED, NOT TO MENTION THE ENVIRONMENTS COSTS AND CONSUMER PROTECTION ASPECTS.
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE HAPPENED IN THE TURN LANE AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, ON A HILL, IN THE RAIN. THE CAR ONLY RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WILL ALSO LOSE STEERING FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING. THE BATTERY LIGHT WILL COME ON WITH THE ISSUES DESCRIBED ABOVE. ALSO, THE CAR WILL CHIME WHILE DRIVING, WITH NO TROUBLE INDICATION ON THE DASHBOARD.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE I WAS ON AN OFF RAMP GOING 45MPH WHEN THE ENGINE QUIT WORKING. WITH DIFFICULTY I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF ROAD. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START IT. IT TOOK A WHILE TO START UP THE VEHICLE. I CALLED.TO.GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE JEEP TO BE SEEN. THE PROBLEM OCCURED EVERY DAY UNTIL IT WAS SEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE HAS 19 K AND OIL.IS CHANGED ON OR.BEFORE RECOMMENDATIONS. THE DEALERSHIP.STATED THAT THE OIL.WAS CHANGED AND WAS.OIL LEVEL IS LOW. THE DEALER STATED IT IS COMMON FOR JEEP WITH 2.4 L ENGINE TO BURN 1 QT OIL EVER 1000 MILES. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. NO VEHICLW DOES THAT. THE WORST PART IS THE OIL LIGHT NEVER.COMES ON. THE DEALER WAS SNEAKY AND.CALLED.WHERE I GET MY OIL.CHANGED TO SEE IF I WAS GETTING MY OIL CHANGED REGULARLY. THERE IS A.WELL.DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH THE 2 4 L TIGERSHARK MOTOR.
THIS HAPPENED MONTHS AGO AND THEY CLEANED SOME CONNECTIONS TO FIX IT BUT ITS HAPPENING AGAIN. AT FULL SPEED THE CAR COMPLETELY LOSES ALL ELECTRONICS INCLUDING POWER STEERING, BRAKING, AND THE DASH GOES BLANK. THEN IT FLASHES A SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING WHILE EVERY ALARM AND LIGHT ON THE DASH COMES ON. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND PUTTING IT IN PARK IT WILL RESTART AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES OVER 2 DAYS.
AS I STOP AT A STREET LIGHT USING THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE...THE JEEP DID NOT TURN BACK ON. I WAS STRANDED AND NEEDED A TOW. EVENTUALLY WITH A JUMP AND TURNING OFF THE AUTO START/STOP BUTTON, THE JEEP WILL DRIVE JUST FINE.
