When the fuel saving auto off feature is engaged, this vehicle has stalled, locked, and/or shut down completely in traffic several times. I have almost been hit several times and this is very frightening. I took the car to the dealership several times and they said nothing was wrong. I disengage that auto off feature every single time and have every since I realized that the auto off was the causing factor. This usually happened during braking or resuming from slowing down. I read today that this was a factor in 2022 Hemi models and it is the same type of thing that I experienced with this 2019 non-Hemi. I realize that the car is old and this is something that began happening back when the car was about a year old. I am glad to know that it's not just me but please understand that it's related to older cars as well.
I NOTICED A LAG IN A INCREASE IN SPEED & STALLING IN THE ENGINE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle was shaking. There was an abnormal noise detected from the front and rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the vehicle was working as designed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed the contact that there was an unknown issue with the tires. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.
HAD THIS CAR 1 MONTH A AFTER ALMOST BEING REAR ENDED TWICE FOUND MYSELF JUMPING OUT THE CAR BEFORE BEING HOT BY SEMI .. AND SEVERAL TIMES BY OTHER CARS ALMOST REARED ME.. THE START/STOP SYSTEM IS AT FAULT ..IS JEEP OR ITS MAKERS GOING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IF I GET REARED BECAUSE CAR DIDN'T START TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC.... I CAN PROVE MY POINT.... I'M SITTING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE ALL THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME TAKES OFF SEMI COMING UP BEHIND ME ASSUMES I AM TAKING OFF AS WELL AND DOESN'T PLAN ON COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP... I'M HOLD BRAKE WITH LEFT FOOT ..TO KEEP FROM ROLLING PRESSING ON ACCELERATOR CAR DOES NOT START. FREAKING OUT BAIL OUT THE DOOR IN FRONT OF ON COMING VEHICLES ALMOST GETTING RUN OVER BY THEM AS WELL TRUCK STOPS 2 INCHES FROM MY CAR.. PLASTIC DOOR TRIM IS COMING OFF EXTERIOR OF VEHICLE. NOTICED WHILE WASHING THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR ALSO RIPPED OUT OF HEADLINER AFTER A HANDFUL OF USES. THE FIRST TIME WAS WHILE DRIVING. COMPLETELY DANGEROUS AS IT TAKES 2 HANDS TO PUT IT BACK UP.
THE VEHICLE DECIDES TO REVERSE IN PARK AND IN DRIVE WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. THE SHIFTING IS HARD CALIBRATION AND CHUGS. THE ENGINE HAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND COMPLETELY TURNED ITSELF INDEFINITELY OFF. WHILE DRIVING INTO THE PARKING SPACE THE VEHICLE HAS NUMEROUSLY AND SPONTANEOUSLY DECIDED TO REVERSE IN PARK. THE SAME HAS HAPPENED IN DRIVE. THE AUTO ENGINE SHUT OFF DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY AS THE COMPUTER GETS CONFUSED AS TO WHICH GEAR IT IS IN WHEN IT STARTS UP. THE RADIO LIKES TO TURN ITSELF ONCE IN A WHILE SO I'D SAY THATS MECHANICAL ALTHOUGH THE LEAST OF MY WORRIES. I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED PARKING IN MY FRONT YARD .. ENGINE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHILE IN MOTION TURNING LEFT AND INTERMITTENT DELAY BETWEEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL AND HAVING ACCELERATION START WHEN TRAVELING AT MODERATE SPEED. ENGINE ALREADY REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS OCCURRING. ENGINE REPLACED AT 5K MILES, SYMPTOMS REPEATING AT 8K MILES. *DT*JB
VEHICLE WITH 23 K MILES WITH OIL CONSUMPTION AND COOLANT PROBLEMS, WITH NO INDICATOR WARNING OF LOW OIL OR COOLANT LEVEL. THIS VEHICLE COULD SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING, WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE THAT NOW WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH OIL CONSUMPTION PROGRAM. ACCORDING TO NUMEROUS ONLINE COMPLAINTS, THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIALLY HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND/OR RECALLED IMMEDIATELY.
SLOWED DOWN BEFORE AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN I ACCELERATED, THE ENGINE QUIT AND I LOST POWER STEERING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR ONLY ONE MONTH, 1200 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
MY PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN OR CLOSE USING THE KEYPAD OR DOOR PAD
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTING AT LOW SPEEDS CONSTANTLY HESITATES AND FREEZES WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. MOST OFTEN AFTER STOPING. THE RESULTANT DELAY IN SHIFTING OFTEN OCCURS WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND IS PARTICULARLY BAD WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP UP A HILL. AS A NATURAL REACTION TO THE EFFECT OF A STALL WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED FURTHER. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FINALLY DECIDES TO DOWNSHIFT IT RESULTS IN A ROUGH JERKING OF FORWARD ACCELERATION AND HIGH RPM ACCELERATION. THIS BEHAVIOR HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN FAULTY SINCE THE DAY THE CAR WAS DELIVERED NEW WITH 20 MILES. THE DEALER CLAIMS THERE IS NO SOLUTION UNTIL THE MANUFACTURER ISSUES A COMPUTER SOFTWARE FIX.
THE PAST FIVE DAYS, EVERY TIME I TURN LEFT OR RIGHT MY "LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT" COMES ON. I KEEP UP WITH MY OIL. WHEN I START MY VEHICLE AND DRIVE ABOUT A MILE, MY START/STOP WILL STOP THE VEHICLE AND MY BATTERY LIGHT WILL TURN ON WHEN MY BATTERIES LIFE IS AT 14.2 V. THE VOLTAGE OF MY BATTERY HAS BEEN MOVING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN 13-14.2 IT WILL NOT GO ANY HIGHER OR ANY LOWER. MY CAR SHOULD NOT BE COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF WHEN I'M DRIVING IT. AFTER MY BATTERY LIGHT POPS UP, A MESSAGE ON MY VEHICLE WILL SAY PUT YOUR VEHICLE IN PARK AND ONCE I DO I TURN MY VEHICLE OFF AND TRY TO START IT AND IT WON'T. AFTER THE THIRD TIME OF TRYING TO RESTART IT IT HESITATES BUT DOES START.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the hood on the driver's side unexpectedly opened. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
THIS VEHICLE IS USING 4 QT OF OIL FOR EVER 3800 MILES TRAVELED. IT HAS A CAPACITY OF 5.5 QTS. THE OIL WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON WHEN THE OIL IS LOW. MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS IS WHEN I WAS MAKING A HARD LEFT TURN THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY 3 LANE ROADWAY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS BLINK SUCH AS OIL, BATTERY, TRANSMISSION. I HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW. ONLY 3800 MILES ON IT. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER THEY SAID TO CHECK THE OIL. IT WAS 4 QTS LOW. THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN JUST RECENTLY AT 19990 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
WHILE FLAT TOWING OUR 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE PLUS 4X4 BEHIND OUR MOTOR HOME, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED ITSELF AND BEFORE WE COULD GET STOPPED IN ABOUT 1/2 OF A MILE, THE BACK TIRES AND WHEELS ON THE CAR WERE DESTROYED. THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT NOR AM I LOOKING TO HOLD SOMEONE RESPONSIBLE. MY CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED BY MY VEHICLE INSURANCE COMPANY. I MERELY WANT TO REPORT WHAT HAPPENED TO HELP JEEP DETERMINE WHY THIS OCCURRED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP IN PEORIA, ARIZONA WHERE WE PURCHASED IT AS WELL AS THE JEEP DEALER IN JOPLIN, MO WHO REPLACED THE TIRES AND WHEELS. THEY BOTH TOLD ME THAT ON A BUMPY STRETCH OF HIGHWAY WITH NUMEROUS POT HOLES, AS THIS SECTION OF ROAD WAS, THAT THE "COMPUTER" TURNS ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. AGAIN, WE WERE TOWING IT BEHIND THE MOTOR HOME AND HAD DONE SO ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THERE ARE A SET OF STEPS THAT YOU HAVE TO DO BEFORE TOWING THE VEHICLE, WHICH I HAVE DONE MANY TIMES WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. I CALLED JEEP HEADQUARTERS THREE TIMES TODAY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANYONE WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN BEING INFORMED OF THIS. HAD THIS HAPPENED WHILE MY HUSBAND OR I WERE ACTUALLY DRIVING THE CAR, INSTEAD OF TOWING IT, IT COULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS AS I ASSUME IT ALSO WOULD HAVE ENGAGED THE AIRBAGS. AGAIN, I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED AND I AM FEARFUL IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. I'M NOT INTERESTED IN BLAME, LIABILITY, OR RESPONSIBILITY. I ONLY WANT JEEP TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND SEE IF THE EXPLANATIONS I'VE BEEN GIVEN ARE REASONABLE OR NOT.
I AM HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING. NO ACCELERATION, VEHICLE STALLING, THE CAR REVVING OVER 4-5K RPMS STOPPED AND FOOT ON BRAKE, RADIO ISSUES. WHAT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IS HOW CAN I GET FCA TO BUY BACK THIS LEMON. ALSO I WOULD LIKE SOME DATA OF HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE FILLED A COMPLAINT. BRAND NEW JEEP RAIL HAWK 34 MILES AT TIME OF PURCHASE 410 MILES KNOCK SENSOR AND CHECK ENGINE 1812 MILES ETC AND MAP SENSOR 2325 MILES ETC THE LAST TWO TIMES LOST ALL THROTTLE AND NO POWER GOING UP VAIL PASS IN CO. ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A SEMI AND HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SHOULDER, LIMP MODE.
ON 6/8/2019, I PULLED THROUGH MY GATE, LEFT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO CLOSE THE GATE WHICH TAKES A FEW SECONDS. MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. RESTARTED, AC WAS OFF, AUDIO ALSO OFF. DROVE FOR ABOUT 35 MILES, MADE 2 STOPS, ALL OK. NEXT LEG OF TRIP APPROX 20 MILES, COMING INTO ANOTHER TOWN AND APPROACHING TRAFFIC LIGHT. AT THE LIGHT AS I STOPPED, THE VEHICLE AGAIN SHUT DOWN IN DRIVE AT THE STOP LIGHT IN CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC. THIS WAS NOT THE AUTO STOP/START, IT SHUT DOWN AGAIN. HAD TO PUT IN PARK, IT DID RESTART, AND AGAIN, AC OFF, AUDIO OFF. PROCEEDED TO MY NEXT STOP WHERE THE VEHICLE TRIED TO SHUT DOWN AS I PULLED INTO PARKING SPOT, I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE PARKING. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE, IT STARTED, BUT NOW HAVE BACK UP CAMERA FAILURE WHICH HAS NOT WORKED SINCE THAT EPISODE. THIS WAS TERRIBLY DANGEROUS AS I WAS IN A LOT OF TRAFFIC AND WAS HELPLESS UNTIL I GOT IT TO RESTART.
I HAVE A 2019 CHEROKEE WITH APPROX 18500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD THE EBS (EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM) COME ON WHILE IDLING AT A STOPLIGHT 5 TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON. THE HANDLE TO RELEASE IT DOES NOT RESPOND. IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU ARE RELEASING YOUR BOOT FROM THE BRAKE. I BELIEVE THE CAR THINKS IT IS ROLLING AND REACTS.
ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE STOP/START AND STABILITY CONTROL GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. SEEMS TO BE RANDOM. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG. I'VE CAPTURED DATES AND TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED AND IT'S FREQUENT - SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. ONE TIME I LOST POWER STEERING AND SPEEDOMETER. DEALERSHIP SAID 24 CODES WENT OFF. COULDN'T T FIND PROBLEM. REBOOTED COMPUTER AND SAID THAT IT WAS FINE. IT ISN'T FINE.
AIR BAG LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY. AND A MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN THAT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM NEEDS REPAIR. I CALLED ONE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT EVEN GIVE ME A DAY TO BRING IT IN. STOPPED AT ANOTHER DEALER AND IT WAS ABOUT 13 DAYS BEFORE I COULD GET IT IN. I DID FINALLY GET IT INTO THE DEALER. THAT VERY DAY THERE WAS A REPORT TO THE DEALERS OF AN ISSUE. THAT WAS ON JUNE 20. THEY DO HAVE A RECALL ONLINE, I HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING IN THE MAIL. THERE STILL IS NO FIX APPARENTLY. IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING. HAD OIL CHANGED BY DEALER VERY RECENTLY. UNKNOWN CAUSE. BASED ON RECALLS FOR RELATED VEHICLES, POSSIBLY CAUSED BY FAULTY TRANSMISSION OR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. OCCURRED AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN, AND THEN ACCELERATING UP TO 45 MPH ON A BUSY ROAD. SHORTLY AFTER ACCELERATING, THE TOUCHSCREEN WENT OUT, THE VEHICLE STALLED, AND THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO PULL OFF ON A SMALL AREA AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO LET OTHER CARS PASS. WAS ONLY ABLE TO GET GOING AGAIN AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING IT.
I PURCHASED A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE AND IN LESS THAN 3,000 MILES THE CAR BROKE DOWN. IT GAVE NO INDICATION, JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A FAST-PACED HIGHWAY AND ALMOST KILLED ME. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS LOW ON OIL AND THEY ASSUMED SINCE THE CAR WAS SO NEW THEN MAYBE IT HADN'T BEEN PROPERLY FILLED. AS THE VEHICLE APPROACHED 6,000 MILES, THE ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN AND THE CAR WAS STALLED IN THE LEFT LANE OF A SMALL ROAD, BLOCKING TRAFFIC. NOW THEY TELL ME THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT WITH THE ENGINE AND THAT IT IS BURNING TOO HOT AND, THEREFORE CONSUMING THE OIL AT A FAST RATE. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW SHELL SHOCKED I WAS TO HAVE MY BRAND NEW JEEP VEHICLE STALL TWICE ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND HAD NO IDEA HOW DANGEROUS THE MOTOR WAS. I HAVE SPENT A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME AND ENERGY TRYING TO GET THIS VEHICLE FIXED AS WELL AS NOT HAVING A MODE OF TRANSPORTATION AS IT STAYS IN THE SHOP FOR I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG. BOTTOM LINE, I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU DIRECTLY ABOUT WHAT MY RIGHTS ARE AS A CONSUMER REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND THE LEMON THAT WE LEASED. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR COMPANY DOES TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WORLD JEEP (681 STREWSBURY AVE, STREWSBURY, NJ) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE BATTERY ELECTRICAL CABLE. THE CABLE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
THE ENGINE WOULD COMPLETE SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION AND REQUIRE ME TO FULLY REMOVE THE KEY AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO GET TO A SAFE LOCATION. HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM WITH IT.
JUST PURCHASED VEHICLE 3 DAYS AGO. HAS 3,300 MILES ON IT. EVERY TIME I'VE DRIVEN IT TODAY, THE RADIO VOLUME AND RECEPTION FADES IN AND OUT. ON EVERY CHANNEL. I DON'T LIVE OR DRIVE IN REMOTE AREAS, SO IT IS NOT A SIGNAL ISSUE. I ENJOY LISTENING TO MUSIC WHILE DRIVING, BUT THIS WAS SO ANNOYING THAT I RODE HOME IN SILENCE. THE FADE IN AND OUT HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF MOTION OF THE VEHICLE OR VOLUME I TURN IT UP TO.
THE RADIO OPERATES ERRATICALLY AND WILL BOUNCE FROM ONE MODE TO ANOTHER. THE AUDIO WILL GO IN AND OUT AS WELL AS THE AIR AND HEAT. THE SCREEN GOES BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN RADIO, CONTROLS, NAVIGATION, CLIMATE, APPS, AND MEDIA UNCONTROLLABLY WITHOUT ANY PROMPTING FROM THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION EACH TIME IT ACTED ERRATICALLY CAUSING MAJOR DISTRACTION AND DISRUPTION TO THE DRIVER. THIS HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS, HIGHWAYS, WHILE TURNING, AND WHILE PARKED WITH THE CAR ON. WHEN BROUGHT TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM AND THAT NOTHING COULD BE FIXED.
ON 5/23/2019 MY WIFE WAS EXITING A PARKING LOT DRIVING FORWARD IN OUR 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. SHE TURNED RIGHT INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND THEN STEERED RIGHT TOWARD THE CENTER LANE. THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND HER. SUDDENLY THE DASH LIT UP IN RED BRAKE, AND THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED. SHE STOPPED MOMENTARILY, TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. AT THIS POINT THE LIGHT WENT OUT AND THE PARKING BRAKE RELEASED. SHE DROVE HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE DOORS WERE NOT AJAR. SHE WAS NOT BACKING UP. OUR JEEP DOES NOT HAVE THE FORWARD SENSORS, JUST THE REAR SENSORS. WE DO HAVE THE PARKING BRAKE SET (U-CONNECT) TO AUTO ENGAGE WHEN SHIFTED INTO PARK. WE ARE CONCERNED THIS COULD HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. I'M BRINGING IT TO THE DEALER IN THE MORNING.
AS I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR 3 DAYS, I CAN'T SAY WHAT IT 'USED TO' DRIVE LIKE. BUT MORE THAN A FEW TIMES, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, AND THE VEHICLE HESITATES FOR A MOMENT. SOMETIMES I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ACROSS TRAFFIC, OR CROSS A BUSY HIGHWAY. FORTUNATELY, I HAVEN'T BEEN IN ANY CLOSE CALLS YET, BUT I CAN DEFINITELY SEE HOW AN ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR, IF YOU PUSH ON THE GAS TO MAKE A TURN AND YOUR CAR ACCELERATES REALLY SLOWLY FOR THE FIRST 2 SECONDS. I WILL BE TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT.
WHILE RIDING THE AIR CONDITIONER WILL START BLOWING HOT AIR FOR ABOUT 45 SECONDS AND THEN START BACK BLOWING COOL AGAIN.
STARTED OUT WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP SLOW YOU HEARD A GRINDING NOISE, NOW WHEN IT SHIFTS INTO FIRST AT A STOP THE TRANSMISSION HAS A CLICKING NOISE AND ALSO SURGES AND SHIFTS HARD.
I TOOK MY CAR FOUR TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THEY HAVE ONLY DONE TWO REPAIRS BUT EVERY TIME I TAKE IT AND THEY FIX SOMETHING, SOMETHING ELSE STARTS GIVING ME PROBLEMS. MY CAR HAS SHUT DOWN IN THE FREEWAY THAT WAS THE REASON WHY I TOOK IT THE FIRST TIME. THE DEALER ONLY DID AN UPDATE IN THE POWER TRAIN, WHICH THEY SAID IT WAS RECALL. AFTER THAT THE CAR CONTINUE WITH ALL THE OTHER PROBLEMS THAT WERE NOT TAKEN CARE BY THE DEALERSHIP. I TRIED TWO DIFFERENT JEEP/CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS, ONE IN ALHAMBRA WHICH IS WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AND THE OTHER LOCATION I TOOK THE CAR WAS THE ONE IN DOWNEY,CA. I'M AFRAID OFF GETTING INTO A CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF ALL THE PROBLEMS THE CAR HAS. THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T WANT TO FIX THE CAR AS THEY SAID THE CAR IS NOT SHOWING ANY CODES FOR THEM TO FIX THEM. THE CAR ACCELERATES BY IT SELF, THE BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY, IT SHAKES AND THE LAST TIME I TOOK THE CAR FOR REPAIR IT STARTED TO SMELL LIKE GASOLINE, ALSO THE DASHBOARD TURNS ON AND OFF BY IT SELF. I JUST WANT TO HAVE A RELIABLE CAR AS I'M PAYING FOR A 2019 VEHICLE NOT A USED ONE. I JUST DON'T WANT TO PUT MY KIDS, MYSELF, OR ANYONE'S LIFE IN DANGER DUE TO THE CAR NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. VEHICLE BOUGHT WITH ABOUT 14 MILES ON IT. AT ABOUT 200 MILES A NOISE APPEARED WHEN COASTING AND APPLYING LIGHT PRESSURE ON THE GAS. THE NOISE HAS BECOME LOUDER AND MORE NOTICEABLE TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CAN FEEL THE NOISE IN YOUR FEET. ONE A FEW OCCASIONS, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, THE NOISE BECAME LOUDER AND HAPPENED FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME. DEALER CAN'T FIND AN ISSUE BUT REFUSE TO TELL ME IF IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. DEALER TOOK A DIFFERENT VEHICLE (EXACTLY THE SAME) AND FOUND THE NOISE IS HAPPENING IN THAT VEHICLE AS WELL. PRETTY SURE THE ISSUE IS IN THE DRIVETRAIN. DEALER REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO FCA STAR ENGINEERING BUT THERE IS "NO FIX AT THIS POINT". IT WAS FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE FOR ALMOST A YEAR. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 1900 MILES ON IT...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES LATER SMOKE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. NO FLAMES WERE PRESENT BUT SEVERAL PARTS UNDER THE HOOD HAD MELTED. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS THE TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER ATLANTIC JEEP (555 SUNRISE WHY, WEST ISLIP NY). THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL I HAD WITNESSED MY AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOY, WHEN I WAS JUST INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT. BECAUSE I HAD UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHICH CAUSED ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO STOP AND WE WERE HIT ON THE SIDE AND OUR SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON OUR RIGHT SIDE. *DT*JB
AT AROUND 1200 RPM AND AT ABOUT 30-40 MPH, COMING OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN BACK ON IT RESULTS IN A CLUNK TYPE NOISE. IT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. AT TIMES IT IS A SLIGHT NOISE, AT OTHER TIMES IT IS QUITE LOUD. AFTER 2 VISITS TO THE DEALER AND RISING TO LEVEL 2 AT JEEPS CUSTOMER SERVICE NO ONE CAN OFFER A FIX. JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS THE TRANSMISSION WILL SELF CALIBRATE AND THE NOISE WILL GO AWAY. ALMOST 2000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND IT HASN'T SELF CALIBRATED YET.
AFTER AN INTERSECTION STOP AND STARTING TO ACCELERATE DURING A RIGHT TURN AND CAR IN MOTION, THE CAR ENGINE STALLED. THE DASHBOARD SHOWED 0 RPM AND JUST THE BATTERY INDICATOR ON. PARK OVER THE ROAD SHOULDERS, I COULD START THE ENGINE AGAIN AFTER 2 ATTEMPTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES AS OF NOW, 2 TIMES LAST WEEK (MAY 10 AND MAY 11 2019). WENT TO THE JEEP DEALER IN PINEVILLE, CHARLOTTE, NC. THEY SUPPOSE EXECUTED THE WORK ORDER FOR THE SAFETY RECALL U86 (NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 18V-523) ON MAY 11. BUT TODAY (MAY 13 2019) THE CAR DID EXACTLY THE SAME IN THE SAME INTERSECTION LIKE THE FIRST TIME. CAR HAS ONLY 4,250 MILES. CONSUMER STATED I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AS I SAW "OIL PRESSURE" ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD AND NOTICED ABNORMAL LOW ENGINE OIL LEVEL, HAVING JUST 4,000 MILES. DURING THE RECALL SERVICE, THEY SUPPOSE CHECKED ALL LEVELS INCLUDING THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE: ENGINE OIL. SO, AFTER A OIL CHANGE AND OIL LEVEL REPLENISHMENT, THE JEEP CHEROKEE IS WORKING WELL SINCE THEN. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER TO GET OIL CHANGE.*JB
MY CAR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR AT THE STOP SIGN SEVERAL TIMES. I HAD TO RESTART THE CAR IN ORDER TO START IT AND DRIVE. THE BRAKES HAVE ALSO SQUEALED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE SLOWING DOWN ON THE LOCAL STREETS AND INTERSTATE. THE BLUETOOTH TAKES 10-15 MINUTES TO ADD THE PHONE AND SOMETIMES DOES NOT CONNECT UNTIL CAR IS RESTARTED. THESE INCIDENTS STARTED TO TAKE PLACE IN MAY 2019
FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO STOP. THE CAR DIED AND I LOST POWER STEERING AND EVERYTHING WENT BLANK. I SAT FOR 10 MINUTES DUE TO NOT STARTING UP. IT SOUNDED LIKE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN I WENT TO TURN IT OVER. AFTER STARTING IT BACK I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED IT WAS A RECALL AND IT WAS FIXED. WELL THIS MORNING I WENT TO SLOW DOWN AT A STOP SIGN WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR DIED, I WAS STUCK IN 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC. I FINALLY GOT THE CAR RESTARTED AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED THAT THEY CHANGED MY OIL AND COULD TELL THAT IN LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE THAT'S WHAT IT IS. THEY ARE GOING TO KEEP THE CAR OVER THE WEEKEND AND LET ME KNOW. HOWEVER MY FRIEND HAS THE SAME 2019 AND HER CAR HAS DONE THE SAME THING AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.
JEEP HAS 6664 MILES ON IT AND AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND SAYS THAT AIRBAG NEEDS SERVICED. AT FIRST THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND THEN TURN BACK OFF HOWEVER, NOW THE LIGHT IS ON AND REMAINS ON. NEXT COMPLAINT IS THAT AFTER SLOWING VEHICLE DOWN AND BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN, THE JEEP SEEMS TO NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY...IT IS HESITANT AND THEN SUDDENLY PICKS UP SPEED. 3RD COMPLAINT. WHILE SITTING AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN IT FEELS LIKE THE ENGINE IS PULLING AGAINST THE BRAKE (AS IF YOU WERE TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND BRAKE AT SAME TIME) IN A "LUNGING" MANNER.
WHEN FIRST STARTING THE SUV THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM WILL SOMETIMES KEEP RESTARTING OR WHILE USING ANDROID AUTO OR APPLE PLAY THE SYSTEM FREAKS OUT AND WHILE DRIVING AND RESTARTS OR NOT WORK AT ALL UNTIL I RESTART THE TRUCK. ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH MY SOUNDSYSTEM UNPAID EXTRA FOR....
AS OF MAY 5TH EXPERIENCED A SAFETY RISK WITH THIS JEEP AND IT'S 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION. ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND TRIED TO MERGE TO ANOTHER EXPRESSWAY AND VEHICLE FAILED TO DOWNSHIFT OR ACCELERATE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MERGE. THIS WAS ALSO ACCOMPANIED WITH EXCESSIVE GEAR HUNTING ALONG WITH HARD SHIFTS AND LONG/HIGH RPM SHIFTS. NOT TO MENTION IT WILL LUNGE OR TRY TO OVERPOWER THE BRAKES WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT. WILL BE GOING TO THE SHOP FOR THE 4TH TIME FOR SAME ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS, IT IS RANDOM AND NEVER KNOW WHAT IT WILL DO NEXT. THIS VEHICLE IS A SAFETY RISK!

CLUTCH SLIPS WHEN DOWNSHIFTING. ALSO WHEN SHIFTING THE JEEP IN REVERSE A GAP IS FELT BEFORE THE JEEP LURCHES IN GEAR SEEMS LIKE THE GEAR IS ENGAGING LATE.
WHILE JUST BEGINNING TO EXIT A FREEWAY, MY STEERING LOCKED UP COMPLETELY. I HAD NO CONTROL BUT RECALL SEEING A RED LIGHT JUST COMING ON THE DASH (OBVIOUSLY, I COULDN'T ASCERTAIN WHAT THEY LIGHT WAS AT THE TIME AS MY CAR WAS DOING MULTIPLE 360 SPINS DOWN THE EXIT RAMP!) TRY AS I MIGHT, I COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST TERRIFYING MOMENTS OF MY LIFE. AFTER COMING TO REST AGAINST A TRAFFIC SIGN, I WAS ABLE TO SEE THAT IT WAS AN ALERT FOR MY STEERING THAT HAD COME ON. IT REMAINED ON EVEN AS I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. I HAVE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE INJURIES TO MY HEAD, BACK, LEGS, WRIST, HIPS, SHOULDER AND HIP. THIS IS A MOST EGREGIOUS FAILURE AND I AM QUITE UNDERSTANDABLY RETICENT TO TRUST ANY VEHICLE WITH THIS COMPONENT. AFTER 1 WEEK, SILENCE IS THE ONLY SOUND I HAVE HEARD FROM EITHER THE DEALER OR CHRYSLER/JEEP. THIS SILENCE IS MOST DISTURBING. 3RD TIME NOW VEHICLE IN THE SHOP FOR SAME, VEHICLE LUNGES AGAINST THE BRAKES WHILE AT A STOP LIKE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR PULLED INTO GARAGE. THERE IS ALSO NOTABLE CLUNKING WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR (LAST TIME IN SHOP WAS TOLD IT WAS A MOTOR MOUNT). FCA CUSTOMER CARE HAD BEEN IN COMMUNICATION WITH ME BUT ONCE REPORTED THE PROBLEM AGAIN THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY REPLIES. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED SEPT 2018 AND MILEAGE IS CURRENTLY 2186 (YES, 2186). ALMOST 200 MILES AND ROUGHLY 2 WEEKS SINCE LAST VISIT.
WHILE OPERATING MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED WHILE IN MOTION ON 3 OCCURRENCES. EACH TIME IT STALLED THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. IT HAS HAD TO BE PUSHED OUT OF TRAFFIC TO A SAFER LOCATION AND THEN TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. MULTIPLE REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE BY THE DEALERSHIP TO THE FUEL SYSTEM WITH AN ASSURANCE THAT THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED. THE PROBLEM IS STILL ON GOING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT OCCURS WITHOUT WARNING IN A MOVING OR ACCELERATING VEHICLE AND WILL RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. MY FAMILY DOES NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS < 60 DAYS OLD AND < 3000 MILES.
SYSTEM CONTROLS SHUT DOWN DURING DRIVING. LCD GOES BLANK, OR SCREEN LOCKS UP, AND AUDIO SHUTS OFF. SOMETIMES, THE ENTIRE CONTROL SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN AND I HAVE TO STOP AND RESTART THE CAR TO GET IT TO REBOOT. THIS HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION AND WHEN AT A STOP.
THE PROBLEM IS A SMUDGE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AT EYE LEVEL WHEN THE WIPERS RETURNED TO THE ORIGINAL POSITION. WE REPLACED THE WIPERS FIRST WITH THE MOST EXPENSIVE WE COULD FIND AND THAT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE SO THAT IS WHEN THE DEALERSHIP BENNY BOYD OF LAMPASIS REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD UNDER WARRANTY. THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BUT IT DID BECAME WORSE WITH THE NEW WINDSHIELD AND NOW THERE WERE STREAKS, SO WE BROUGHT IT BACK AND THEY REPLACED THE EXPENSIVE WIPERS WITH OEM WIPERS AND STILL IT DID THE SAME. WE WERE ADVISED BY OUR SERVICE MANAGER CHRISTOPHER WEIR TO CALL CHRYSLER @ 800-992-1997 AND START A STAR CASE, THE CASE NUMBER IS OR WAS 58366091. THE CASE OPENED AND SUPPOSEDLY LOOKED INTO BY SOME ENGINEERS PER THE CONVERSATION OF THE CASE MANAGER @ CHRYSLER.
