The cars start/stop feature hardly works, and it has just stalled right after the start/stop was engaged and then gave me a message saying “start/stop required” and then was in drive but was rolling backwards and wouldn’t start and then when it finally did start it was a sputtering mess. The start/stop feature consistently struggles to work.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the “Service 4-WD” warning light illuminated. The contact's father connected a diagnostic machine to the vehicle and retrieved a code for power train failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was informed that parts were not available to repair the vehicle. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 132,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Our dealership, Billion Motors ran diagnostics after I indicated that my service 4WD light had been on, and found out that I needed a new transfer case. Jeeps from 2017 to 2019 have a known transfer case issue and my Jeep is a 2019 and unfortunately the serial number is not listed in the recall. This is a huge security risk as I'm afraid that my vehicle will slip out of gear and heading into winter my AWD is not working due to this part failure. (I live in the midwest where we receive a lot of snow!) I'm concerned that this part has been on order since June of this year and it's now the end of November and hasn't been received it. This is a huge security risk going into the winter plus anytime I park. My vehicle only has 67,000 miles on it.
The Power transfer unit ( PTU) is affected, yes it is available for inspection. The vehicle is unsafe to drive. Yes, it has been confirmed by Midas and a local Jeep dealer. It has been inspected by the auto repair shops. Yes, an alert came up SVC 4W and confirmed that it is the PTU issue, same day examined.
While driving on the highway the vehicle suddenly loses power when trying to get up to speed limits. The following warning messages occur: 4WD System Unavailable Service Required, ACC/FCW Limited Functionality Service Required, Service Electronic Stability Control, Service Electronic Throttle Control. Could have caused rear collision or other accidents from trying to pull over. Creates a very dangerous situation on highways with no shoulders. Once the vehicle has slowed down it impossible to get back up to speeds, as it has to be pulled over and restarted. Upon inspection by Reed Jeep Dealership, the PTU needs to be replaced. Other similar year, make and models have already been recalled for this same issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The failure had occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "Service 4WD" was displayed on the instrument panel, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who confirmed the failure and associated the failure with the recall. The contact was informed that there was a failure with the driveshaft and the PTU. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 73,000.
My Service 4wd light is on again and the electronic controller module is cracked under the hood. There is no 4wd, sensors are not working, the automatic high beams as well as manual high beams will not work, I have random dings going off, and the car does not shift properly. Gas mileage is way down. This is a continuous issue with this vehicle. I have replaced the ptu, and I need help!!!! This has cost me nearly $10,000 out of pocket.
I WAS VISITING MY NEICE IN MISSOURI. 2019 JEEEP CHEROKEE, 33,000 MILES. MY POWER TRAN UNIT HAS BROKE AND I HAD TO LEAVE MY VEHICLE IN MISSOURI TO DRIVE BACK MY NEICES VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD NOT TO DRIVE IT AS IT WAS TOTALLY GONE. I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO CAUSE THIS. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY LAS CAR AND NOW ITS A DISASTER. WHY HAVE SO MANY OTHER 2017-2019 JEEP CHEROKEES NOT BEEN RECALLED VS ALL THE RECALLS ON OTHERS NOTHING DIFFERENT IN MINE.
SVC 4WD light came on, 4WD system overheated. Transmission was damaged, had to pay to rebuild entire transmission, now transfer case is needing a replacement. Got codes C1472-92 and C1477-4B when we ran the scanner. There is a recall out right now for the PTU and transfer case issue but no solution. I need assistance in replacing Transfer Case. Car died out on me in the middle of rush hour traffic on the highway. 2 cars almost hit me but they missed me. Had to wait until the car turned on again and drove straight to the shop.
I received notification stating I have a recall on my car. I never got a letter. A SRV4WD error code came up on my dash recently. I took it to my mechanic who said he can't do it, he said it's a recall. So I called the Jeep Dealership and they said it's not. So I took it to another mechanic who said it's a recall and sent me to a Transmission Shop. This shop said it's a recall and they don't have the fix and go to Jeep. So I went to the Jeep Dealer again and they said call Jeep Corp, you're not on the list. From here I called Jeep Customer Care who sent me to Jeep Recall Dept where I was on the phone over 2.5 hours before getting a supervisor. He gave me a reference code and told me to go to a Jeep dealer and if I had the codes the dealership could put me on the list. So I did what I was told. I have the codes on my vehicle and the dealership said they can't do anything? So I called Jeep back again, another long call, and spoke to 3 more people the Josh, a Supervisor in the recall dept. I told him the last supervisor gave me a reference number and said If my codes were on the vehicle I would be added to the list. I understand Vehicle specific. I worked at GM AND For in Engineering and on the floor as a manufacturing advisor. These are not Plant Specific parts. The tag associated with a vehicle shows sets, radio, color, etc, we would fly in parts from other plants all the time. My vehicle should be part of the recall 01C for the PTU defect as this is a safety concern. Josh said I should follow up with the nhtsa website as it goes to their engineering department. I've spent a lot of time, and hundreds of dollars on ppl reading my codes. I hop I can get this resolved now. Ref#[XXX] which is probably going to close and expire before anyone reads this. My codes on the Jeep are 1) PTU Lost Communication with DCTM (U1203-00) and 2) PTU Motor Component Blocked (C14A7-97). I've been told these are part of the recall by 5 mechanics now. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 45 MPH, the vehicle started to vibrate and made an abnormal ticking sound. The contact's wife pulled over and informed the contact about the failure. The contact arrived at the scene and was able to drive the vehicle to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with power transfer unit failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,511. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Component: Power Transfer Unit (PTU). Jeep has issued a recall for the same year and model as my 2019 Cherokee, but my VIN is not included in the recall. However, the power transfer unit is failing as verified by the Jeep dealership. This appears to be a manufacturing defect identical to those listed under the recall. The warning that lead me to take it to the shop said 4WD not available service required. I would like my vehicle to be added to the recall list for this issue. NHTSA campaign number: 25V011. Jeep’s own number for this recall is 01C.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee, which is currently experiencing a Power Transfer Unit failure. My Service 4WD light came on, and the vehicle is exhibiting the same symptoms as those covered under several PTU-related recalls, including Recall W47 and Recall 01C.
PTU failure in my Jeep Cherokee. Other models have been recalled but this one has not.

Delamination of the Display can have settings that affect the way the vehicle physically brakes and steers that are configured via the Uconnect system. Needs replaced
Complete PTU failure confirmed by dealership.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the message "Service 4-Wheel Drive" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was test-driven. The dealer diagnosed that the PTU had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a related recall. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
The rear differential developed a crack along the outer edge, resulting in a peeling effect along the edge of the unit resulting in fluid loss. We were informed by our dealer (who discovered the issue) that the part needs to be replaced to prevent full failure of the part and a catastrophic event on the road. I called Jeep to seek financial assistance and was told to get an official diagnosis from the dealer, ($180) which I paid for, in order to submit my claim to Jeep and request for reimbursement of approximately $4,200 for replacement part, labor and required wheel alignment. I submitted to Jeep the official dealer diagnosis and receipts for repair. There were no warning lamps or symptoms other than the fluid loss and visual cracks on the differential housing. We were informed by the dealer that they have experienced and repaired one other vehicle with the exact problem and that this is a common and known problem on specific model year Jeep Cherokees. I paid out of pocket for the repair, as we could not afford the 3-6 month time wait for the dealer to resolve financial assistance for the replacement. Note - Jeep Care asked me to submit documents directly to them regarding my claim and assigned CASE number-93372499. Which I did. They then responded and advised I contact my dealer for financial assistance. Which I did. The dear contacted Stellantis and then responded that since I prepaid for the repair, no financial assistance will be given. I then reached out the Wisconsin Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Protection to contact Stelantis on my behalf. They contacted Stellantis, and received a reply that since I am out of warranty, I will receive no financial assistance. So, Stellantis provided two different answers to my request. Informing the dealer since I prepaid, I will receive nothing, and informing Wisconsin that since I am out of warranty, I will receive nothing. Two different answers to the same request.
2019 Jeep with 59051 miles on it. Upon starting the car, the idle was low and the engine ran rough. While driving, it would stall when stopping. After several tries it would start but not stay running while idling. The jeep dealership stated the plugs were fouled, ($400), then when that did not fix it the fuel pump was bad ($4000), when that did not fix it they stated the bad fuel pump and plugs caused the engine to lose compression and it now needs a complete motor ($11,500). This car's 60K/5year warranty expired by 4 months. Turns out this problem is happening with lots and lots of jeeps. Stalling on the road while driving is not acceptable and very unsafe! Jeep needs to find the problem and recall it.
Jeep begins to display 4WD service light. Took it into a transmission shop who informed that Power Distribution Unit needs to be replaced. They indicated that there is an active recall on this part and that it should be taken to a Jeep Service Center. Jeep Service Center confirmed that it is indeed a PDU issue and that there is an active recall on this part. This serial number vehicle, however, is not covered by the recall. As this is the same part and symptoms, as well as year and make of auto, this jeep's serial number should be included in the recall. Please update your records to include this jeep in the recall. As of now, the Jeep has been awaiting backordered parts for 1 month, with no projected delivery date. The projected repair costs are $3800. Thank You
The 4wd has a warning light that says 4wd not available. I had my mechanic run the code C14A7-97 and it stated PTU Motor - Component or System Operation Obstructed or Blocked - Active, Pending, Stored. I looked it up and there is an issue with this with the code C01 stating this is an issue but my vehicle says there are no recalls on my vin. I have all the symptoms listed in the report saying it is a recall. I live in Montana I need 4wd

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the dealer PTU diagnostic test process would be escalated to the Technical Team for investigation. The contact was referred to the dealer for rental vehicle assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
My PTU is failing. My 4 wheel drive no longer works. I have been waiting for a remedy for this recall for months.
My 2019 Jeep completely lost ALL power while driving. There is a clanking sound that no one can locate. There is a change in the way the care is driving as far as power and engine sounds louder than usual. On 9.8.25 my sev 4WD indicator light appeared. I have seen the recalls for ALL these issues I am having but, My VIN # is showing that my care is NOT on the recall list. WHY??? I have had every single problem on the list related to this recall.

Jeep power transfer unit failed while driving. Vehicle cannot be driven safety. I had to quickly move to the shoulder of the road. Vehicle can only be driven at 10 mph or less. Chrysler Group (Stellantis) admits the part is defective and had a campaign to replace. I have been without use of the vehicle since the end of May and Jeep keeps the part on backorder.
After approximately 70,000 miles in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, my Powertransfer Unit light came on and has refused to go off starting in between May - June 2025. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and passenger's safety are at risk if my Powertransfer Unit malfunctions when driving. Problem has not been confirmed by a independent service center. Vehicle or component has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. No other warning messages or symptoms prior to the failure
The power transfer unit has failed with only 48k miles. This appears to be a manufacturing defect identical to those listed under the recall.

Experiencing intermittent 4wd light. Dealer says replace PTU for $2100. Some issues release/engaging parking brake
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while his wife was driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact’s wife was able to pull off the roadway, but the vehicle failed to respond when shifted into drive(D) and depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed back to the residence. The contact stated that two years prior the vehicle experience a similar failure and a dealer had replaced the rear power transfer unit and the engine. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, parts to repair the vehicle were not yet available. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
I was driving one day and stopped at a stop light. I go to accelerate as the light changes, the vehicle moves forward a little then stops moving. The battery stayed on but it would no longer move or rev. So I was left stranded in the middle of the stop light. Thankfully a cop came by and helped me push to a safer spot. I then had to have the vehicle towed to the nearest pepBoys. After their initial inspection they were thinking it was a transmission issue but they do not work on them there so I then had to get it towed again to my house until I could figure out what I should do. After my own investigation then later confirming with the jeep dealership, we’ve determined the symptoms are related to the defective part. I’ve called several times to the manufacturer and recall team and both can only offer an apology and that nobody knows anything right now. Thanfully the dealership on their own offered me a loaner vehicle. But the manufacturer isn’t proving much assistance. I still owe on paying this jeep so this has not only put my safety at risk but also is impacting me finally and trying to make a living. How can I pay for a vehicle that doesn’t work and nobody knows how they will fix it.. This is ridiculous and something needs to happen.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while stopped at a red light, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the power transfer unit needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown.
The infotainment screen in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee intermittently shuts off while driving. This occurs unexpectedly and has happened multiple times, sometimes while using navigation or the backup camera. On several occasions, the screen has turned completely blue and remained unresponsive for several minutes. The screen controls audio, climate, and safety features, and its failure creates distractions and limits access to key vehicle functions. This issue occurs randomly and has not been resolved. I brought the vehicle to a dealership, and was told that unless there is a recall, there is little they can do beyond basic troubleshooting. I have not received any warning messages or error codes related to this issue. The problem appears to stem from either a software malfunction or a hardware issue with the Uconnect system. The component is available for inspection upon request. This screen failure impacts visibility and access to controls, creating a potential safety risk.
While idling, especially at red lights or in park, my 2019 Jeep Cherokee vibrates noticeably. This happens almost daily, and the vibrations are felt throughout the cabin, particularly through the steering wheel and seat, and has caused my phone to fall off its mount while driving. The issue has been consistent and now appears to interfere with the Auto Start-Stop feature. On several occasions, the vehicle has struggled to restart after the engine auto-shuts off at a traffic light, raising concerns about reliability and safety. I brought the vehicle to a Jeep dealer, and I was told that because this is not a recall issue, there is nothing they can do. No warning lights or diagnostic codes were found. However, the problem persists and affects the vehicle’s comfort and function. It also poses a potential safety risk due to distraction and instability at idle. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. The component is available for inspection upon request.

While driving down the interstate, my wife’s car just died in the middle of the highway, no life or lights of any kind. Luckily we got it started again and made it home. Second time it happened, the car shut off on the highway and would not restart. Had to have it towed home, tried taking it to our local Dodge dealership and they said since there’s no”active codes” they couldn’t do anything and sent us on our way. The car has a mind of its own and shuts off and or starts up whenever it wants. The care had a few codes when sent to dealership, service throttle control, lost function in fuel pedal, check engine light was on, start/stop needs serviced, and now the key fobs aren’t working, the car won’t start, acts like the battery is dead when we just had a brand new battery put in. This has happened 3 times to my family and it’s very uneasy when we’re stuck on the side of the highway as a hazard with no hazard lights working, and the car is dead in its tracks with no power whatsoever so ever. I’ve read many forums where more people are having this issue. I’m over the fact that we can’t get an answer to what’s going on, when we are paying for such a high quality vehicle and are having but none stop problems with it. I’ve also had to put a rear differential in the car at 80,000 miles. I’m just hoping to get some answers before something catastrophic happens to my family or someone else on the highway.
The truck I bought last November 2024..was running kinda bad.. by may of 2025 the tranmission was stalling I call the dealership..and explain my problem. I was told that someone would call me back but that never happened...July of 2025 the car was running hot I had my service work done oil change..tune up..so by August I had to use a jump box to start the vehicle..come September 2025 the truck was just cutting off on the highway or wherever I might have been and everytime I turn left or right it would cut off.. I have been really stressed my job is in jeopardy.. I just been going threw some mental issue with the truck...I really should have been warned about the recall.. I don't think it's fair for car dealership to sell cars that are not reliable and I hope that I can get some help in this matter
Roaring in awd

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard a grinding sound while attempting to shift gear. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the power transfer unit had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, and the dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available. The approximate failure mileage was 55,800. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Several times while sitting at a red light or stop sign, the emergency brake automatically engaged and the vehicle wouldn't move. All three times, before I could put the vehicle in park and crank it back up, the traffic behind me was honking and trying to go around me - which could have caused a wreck. Just this morning, while driving to work, my vehicle died while I was going about 55mph. The dash dinged, an error message that said Vehicle Not in Park flashed on the dash screen, then all of the dash lights lit up like Christmas. Then my vehicle died - I had no power. After about 3 seconds, all of the lights went out except for the check engine and the battery light. The speedometer and the RPMs immediately dropped to 0, but the vehicle was still moving. I was on a road with no shoulder and traffic behind me and I had to pull over in someone's yard to get out of the way of the traffic. That was very scary and could have killed me if I had been on the interstate or a busier highway. When I was able to safely pull off the main road, I put it in park, and it cranked right up and the dash lights went away. I am having to put it in the shop because I am too scared to drive it anymore. This problem really needs to be addressed as it is all over the internet. There are a LOT of consumers dealing with this same issue.
A grinding noise came from under the vehicle and it began handling differently. A local garage looked and found the rear differential/axles/propeller shaft loose and making internal noises. They referred me to the dealer. A month to get in. I tried a reman, but parts are backordered I am told because these are failing everywhere. The vehicle is unsafe and now the dealer says September at the earliest, $1,000 plus labor, parts cost unknown.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the message "4WD Unavailable - Service Soon" was displayed with the 4WD icon illuminated intermittently for three months. The contact that while driving at 15-25 MPH, and there was a slight grinding sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced, and the PTU needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the middle digital screen independently turned on the heat, radio, navigation system, A/C, and glitched. The Service 4-WD warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and an unknown failure code was retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown NHTSA Campaign; however, the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
The system that failed is the power train. More specifically, the PTU or (Power Transfer Unit) has failed twice. The first time the failure happened, the car had 70,000 miles on the odometer. The Issue presented itself as a “SVC 4WD” warning light on the instrument cluster, followed by a “4-wheel drive system unavailable” annunciation on the instrument cluster. There was a clear loss of power as a result, Sluggish response of the accelerator and shifting of gears in drive, loss of fuel economy. The issue was confirmed by the dealer. The dealer indicated there was a failure of the PTU, where its motor was locking up and PTU systems failure. The car was still under power train warranty at the time and was repaired - PTU was replaced — After having the problem repaired and faulty PTU system replaced in March 2022 under power train warranty at 70,000 miles, the problem has come back. The problem is identical to the first time. The car currently has approximately 140,000 miles on the odometer, 70,000 miles since the PTU was replaced. Once again, I have a “SVC 4WD” light and “4-wheel drive unavailable” annunciation on the instrument cluster. I brought the car to the dealer and was informed the service code was for the same issue as before, faulty PTU and PTU motor locking up. Loss of power, sluggishness shifting and in acceleration. The diagnosis is to replace the PTU This is two full PTU failures, each at 70,000 miles usage on the odometer at the time of failure. Loss of drive power and 4-wheel drive capability present a clear safety risk, entering the freeway causing a danger to myself and others with sluggish acceleration, or driving in inclement weather conditions where 4-wheel drive is necessary. Problem has been verified by the dealer on multiple occasions. I invite the full inspection of the vehicle which is in near new condition with 140,000 miles. Two failures of this same exact system with the same service code 70,000 miles apart. Part is defective and unsafe
