CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ENGINE SURGED RPMS AND LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING. I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND STARTED IT BACK UP. UPON PARKING, RPMS SURGED AGAIN, VEHICLE TRIED TO PULL FORWARD BEFORE THE RPMS DROPPED AND STALLED THE ENGINE IN DRIVE. I CHECKED USED MY SCAN TOOL TO CHECK THE CODE AND IT CAME BACK P1521 WHICH IS FOR WRONG ENGINE OIL. I USED ROYAL PURPLE 5W20 IN MY LAST OIL CHANGE. IT DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR 2098 MILES BEFORE THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED WITH NO ISSUES IN BETWEEN. I NOTICED THE 4.7 LITRE HAD A RECALL DONE FOR THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AND IT BEING A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE POWER CONTROL MODULE.
IGNITION PROBLEM ..DEALER REPLACED IGNITION DUE A RECALL ON VEHICLE, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED.DASH TURNS OFF SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING AND CAR STOPS SUDDENLY TOO.HAVE TO START IT SGAIN. DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH TO PREVENT THIS TO HAPPEN, BUT IT'S HAPPENING NOW MORE THAN ANY TIME. PEOPLE SAY THAT THE PROBLEM WASN'T SOLVED AFTER REPLACING THE IGNITION.
IT'S STARTED OFF SHUTTING OFF THEN STALLING NOW THERE'S NO START AT ALL NO CLICK NO DASH PICTURES I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME MY ECM NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED I SEEN ALL SORTS OF RECALLS THE CAR DOESN'T START AND WAS FINE BEFORE THEN

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO THIRD GEAR AND THE VEHICLE SIMULTANEOUSLY JERKED FORWARD. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V203000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
A WINDOW WENT ABOUT 1/3 OF THE WAY DOWN AND STOPPED. COULD NOT GET IT TO GO UP OR DOWN AFTER THAT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TIME. WE WONDERED IF IT WAS THE MOTOR. WE WATCHED A VIDEO ON THE INTERNET ON HOW TO CHECK IT AND IT SAID TO CHECK THE WIRES BEHIND THE DOOR PANEL BECAUSE IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE TO HAVE BROKEN WIRES AND LOW AND BEHOLD THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAD HAPPENED. WINDOWS NEED TO OPEN AND CLOSE.
I HAVE A 06 JEEP COMMANDER WITH THE 5.7 HEMI. I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM TIED THE VEHICLE STALLING AT RANDOM TIME. MOST OF THE TIME IT IS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. A FEW TIMES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALSO AND I DONT KNOW IF ITS COINCIDES BUT THE JEEP WILL BUCK LIKE YOU HIT SOMETHING AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE AND STAY ON. (DRY ROADS). THANK GOD NO ACCIDENTS BUT WAS TOLD BY COUNTLESS JEEP DEALERS THERE IS NO ISSUE.
THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES NOW, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE IS A DING ON THE DASH BOARD AND THE CAR STALLS, AND THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. ONCE YOU SHUT DOWN THE CAR AND START IT AGAIN THE CAR WORKS FINE BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, ACCORDING TO JEEP THEY CHARGE FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND I SEE ONLINE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING A LOT IN MY TYPE OF VEHICLE BUT JEEP HAS YET TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT. I THINK IT IS VERY DANGEROUS SINCE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON A FREEWAY WHERE PEOPLE ARE DRIVING AS FAST OR FASTER THAN ME AND COULD CAUSE A PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING TO DROP MY SON OFF AT SCHOOL AND WHEN I WOULD PRESS THE GAS, IT WASN'T MOVING LIKE IT SHOULD'VE BEEN. IT WAS BARELY MOVING, YOU COULD ENGINE REV BUT IT WASN'T MOVING AND DIDN'T MOVE UNTIL IT GOT TO 2, IG 2ND GEAR ON THE DASH.
REPEATED TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP ERROR MESSAGES DISPLAYED ON DASH. ERROR IS INTERMITTENT, OCCASIONALLY CAUSING VEHICLE TO TURN OFF UNEXPECTEDLY DURING OPERATION. HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND MY VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAMS ON.
I WENT OUT TO START MY CAR THIS MORNING ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON THEN WENT OFF AS I STARTED TO PULL OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY ALL THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AFTER A FEW SECONDS WENT BACK OFF.
TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP WARNING COMES ON PERIODICALLY CADDYING ANOTHER FAN TO CONE ON. IF YOU TURN OFF VEHICLE AND CRANK BACK IT GOES AWAY FOR A WHILE. SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN THE CAR IS IDLING BUT ALSO HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR.
VEHICLE IS HAVING ISSUES GETTING STUCK IN GEAR AND NOT SHIFTING UNLESS YOU STOP, TURN OFF, AND WHEN TURNED BACK ON WILL WORK FOR A WHILE AND THEN HAPPEN AGAIN. 3RD ROW SEAT BELT DOESNT WORK.
HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED ACCORDING TO RECALL. AFTER A FEW MONTHS, IT HAS BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO GET KEY TO TURN TO START VEHICLE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LARRY MILLER IN ALBUQUERQUE NM, THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 300.00 TO REPAIR. ACCORDING TO PREVIOUS OWNER IT WORKED FINE BEFORE TAKING IT IN FOR RECALL.
THE SEAT BELT WONT LATCHED UNLESS YOU PRESS DOWN THE RELEASED BUTTON ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER. ALSO THE PANELS LEAKED ON PASSENGER SIDE AND THE TOP.
MY JEEP LOSES POWER EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING (SCARY WHEN IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY) AT TIMES IT STOPS SHIFTING AND THEN SLAMS LIKE THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION FELL OUT OF JEEP.
VEHICLE FILLED WITH SMOKE WHILE DRIVING AND HEARD A LARGE EXPLOSION THAT SHOOK THE SEATS, PULLED OVER AND CALLED EMERGENCY SERVICES FOR FIRE UNDER PASSENGER SIDE REAR FLOOR BOARD.

THE ESP, BAS, AND TRACTION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW TCM OR PCM WAS NEEDED FOR THE POWER MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 161,920.

WHEN CONNECTING THE SEAT BELT, THE RED BUTTON HAD TO BE PRESSED IN ORDER FOR IT TO LOCK AND SECURE. ONCE LOCKED, THE WARNING INDICATOR WOULD ERRONEOUSLY ILLUMINATE, INDICATING THAT THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT LOCKED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. REEDMAN TOLL CHRYSLER JEEP (300 BALTIMORE PIKE, SPRINGFIELD, PA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.

THE OWNER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT'S INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A FAILURE CODE WAS DISCOVERED FOR THE POWER TRAIIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL AND STATED THAT MORE INFORMATION WAS NEEDED TO SEE IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT FOUND ON THE INTERNET THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE RECALL ON MAY 5, 2008. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AFTER THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE THROUGH A STONE TUNNEL ON THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY THAT HAD NO LIGHTING WITHIN THE TUNNEL THE JEEP SUFFERED AN TOTAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND A TOTAL BLACKOUT TOOK PLACE. THANKFUL THAT I WAS NOT KILLED AND THAT NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE TUNNEL AT THE TIME, THE JEEP WAS COASTED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE TUNNEL AND OFF TO THE SIDE ON THE GRASS. HAD ANYONE BEEN COMING IN EITHER DIRECTION I MAY HAVE HAD ENOUGH LIGHT BUT IT WAS PITCH BLACK. I HAVE READ OF HUNDREDS OF ELECTRICAL FAILURES IN THIS JEEP VEHICLE AND WONDER WHY I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. THIS IS A PRODUCT WARRANTY ISSUE FOR JEEP AND IT NEARLY WAS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR VEHICULAR HOMICIDE! THE JEEP JUST CUT OFF ALL ELECTRIC AND NOT EVEN DASHBOARD LIGHTS AFFORDED VISUAL. I HAVE THE PARK RANGERS REPORT AND SHE SAID THIS MOST LIKELY WAS TOTAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE. I HAVE PICTURES FROM THE ACCIDENT AS THE JEEP HIT THE STONE TUNNEL SIDE AND THEN THE STEERING ROD ON THE RIGHT BROKE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY CHOSE TO JUNK THE JEEP AND I WAS LEFT WITHOUT EVEN A RENTAL CAR. I HAVE PICTURES AND THE RANGERS REPORT AND MY REPORT IF REQUESTED. HOW DO I CONTACT JEEP FOR A PRODUCT LIABILITY COMPLAINT?
TAKATA RECALL AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE FOUR LANE MY CAR STARTED TO HAVE WHITE RUBBER SMELLING SMOKE FILL THE CAR AND ALL MY DASH LIGHTS WENT CRAZY, MY RADIO KICKED OFF AND MY SPEAKERS AND MY TURN SIGNALS QUIT WORKING. I STARTED TO PANIC AND STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE RODE. I HAD MY KIDS IN THE CAR SO I FIRST REMOVED MY CHILDREN THEN TRIED TO FIND THE PROBLEM. AT THIS POINT MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY FULL OF SMOKE N IT LIKE AS IF IT WAS BURNING DOWN. MY WIRING IN THE CARS PASSENGER SIDE REAR FLOOR BOARD HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE ! THE FIRE BURNT THROUGH MY FLOOR AND MY FLOOR MATS. I ALMOST CHOKED TO DEATH ON THE SMOKE AND HAD TO TAKE THE BATTERY OUT OF THE CAR TO KILL THE POWER AND DUMP WATER ON THE FLOOR.

THE PROBLEM STARTED IN JANUARY 2019. THE VEHICLE STARTED HAVING IDLING ISSUES, COLD START IN MORNING IDLES AROUND 900, WHEN PUT IN REVERSE IT DIPS TO AROUND 500 AND WOBBLES BACK AND FORTH WHILE BACKING UP, PUT IN DRIVE AND IT WOULD BE OK BUT WOULD STALL SOMETIMES AT STOP SIGN- CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. I HAD THROTTLE BODY CLEANED AND FUEL SYSTEM SERVICE DONE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SAME DAY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR RECALLS AND THEY REPLACED THROTTLE BODY ALSO. IT DROVE OK FOR A DAY AND I HAVE THE UNSTABLE IDLE BACK AND THE RPM JUMPS UP WHILE IN DRIVE BUT STOPPED AT A LIGHT. ABOUT A WEEK AGO I AM SLOWING DOWN TO STOP AT A LIGHT AHEAD AND IT STARTS VIBRATING LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL AND THE ETC AND TCS LIGHT CAME ON AND I SHUT IT OFF AND IT CRANKED RIGHT BACK UP AND DROVE IT THE REST OF THE DAY WITH NO ISSUE. ETC LIGHT WILL COME ON WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSE NO ISSUES OTHER THAN THE UNSTABLE IDLE. TODAY-5-10-19, COMING HOME AND START TO TURN LEFT AND ETC AND TCS LIGHT COME ON AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS IN LIMP MODE BECAUSE THERE IS A LOSS OF POWER AND ETC LIGHT IS NOW BLINKING, SO I PULL IN A PARKING LOT, CUT IT OFF FOR FIVE MINUTES AND IT CRANKS RIGHT BACK UP WITH NO LIGHTS ON AND I AM ABLE TO DRIVE 5 MILES HOME.

BEGAN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH STARTING AT ALL AFTER THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL WAS WORKED ON AND RESOLVED. THE JEEP WON'T START AT DIFFERENT TIMES, DIFFERENT WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE PROPER POSITIONING AND THE VEHICLE ACKNOWLEDGING IT BEING IN PARK IS AN ISSUE. THE JEEP REQUIRES PARKING TO BE FORCED -USING THE GEAR LEVER SHIFT FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND LOOK FOR THE JOLT TO INDICATE IT'S IN THE APPROPRIATE GEAR, IN PARK
KEEP GETTING "TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP" CODE AND COOLING FANS TURN ON. DEALER SAY IT CANNOT BE RECREATED. IF VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AND STARTED BACK ON CODE GOES AWAY.
MY CAR LEAKS DURING RAIN FROM THE SUNROOF TO THE BLUE HOSE DRAIN AND FLOODED MY CAR. WHICH MESSED UP THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR SAYING IT'S OVER HEATING BUT IT'S NOT IT'S THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TELLING THE COMPUTER IN CAR THAT IT'S HOW WHEN ITS NOT AND NOW MY TRANSMISSION IS MESSED UP WE THINK. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT JEEP DEALER IN CERRITOS, CA FOR 2 DAYS NOW AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT WRONG.
WHEN WE FIRST GOT THE CAR IT WAS WORKING LIKE ANY NORMAL CAR, HOWEVER, AFTER LESS THAN A MONTH WE STARTED TO NOTICE A LOT OF CHANGE. THE FIRST PROBLEM WE STARTED TO SEE WAS THE WHOLE SCREEN TURNED OFF WE ARE ABLE TO PLAY MUSIC BUT ONLY RADIO STATION THAT WAS SAVED. WE ARE UNABLE TO TUNE/SEEK TO A NEW RADIO STATION. THEN WE STARTED TO NOTICE DURING THE RAINY SEASON THAT WATER WOULD ENTER INTO OUR CAR. AFTER MANY TRIES OF SOLVING THIS ISSUE, IT IS STILL HAPPENING TO OUR CAR. THE SECTION WHERE THE PETALS ARE ALWAYS WET AND WE HAVE CLOSED THE SUNROOF AND THE COVER BUT, NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK. NOW TODAY THE CHECK ENGINE TURN ON AND ALSO THE OIL IN THE DASHBOARD BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE CAR AND HOPE TO SEE CHANGES SOON FROM YOU. WHEN MOVING AT A SPEED OF GREATER THAN 3MPH, THE PASSENGERS SEAT SEATBELT SENSORS INDICATES THE PASSENGER IS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT AND SINGS CONSTANTLY. THE SYSTEM DOES NOT REGISTER THAT THE SEATBELT IS ENGAGED.
ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASH PANEL WENT ON & I LOST POWER OF THE VEHICLE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT CAME BACK ON THEN OFF & ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAS BROKEN INTO A FEW PIECES. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS HAPPENS OFTEN TO THESE VEHICLES & BELIEVES THERE IS A RECALL ON THEM. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE 4 1/2 YRS & THIS IS THE 2ND TIME IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MY STRUTS HAVE GONE A FEW TIMES ON MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE REAR SEATBELT IN THE MIDDLE & DRIVER REAR DON'T LATCH & WHEN THEY DO ITS REALLY TIGHT ON MY DAUGHTER. LASTLY MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE REAR DOORS BOTH PASSENGER & DRIVER SIDES. THE HANDLES DON'T WORK ALL THE TIME. THEY HAVE BOTH BEEN FIXED 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THEY OPEN WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT. THE CHILD LOCK IS NOT ON.
INTERMITTENT INABILITY TO START VEHICLE. MY JEEP COMMANDER 2006 HAS A PROBLEM THAT IS BEING DISCUSSED ALL OVER THE INTERNET IN CHAT ROOMS AND BLOGS BUT IS NOT BEING ACKNOWLEDGED BY JEEP. THE ISSUE OCCURRED WHEN JEEP WAS IN PARKED POSITION. I AM A DISABLED MAN AND I WAS LEFT STRANDED IN VERY COLD WEATHER FOR TWO HOURS WITH A CAR THAT WOULD NOT START. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STARTER, OR THE SOLENOID. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH JEEPS AND A SAFETY ISSUE TO THE OWNER ESPECIALLY IF THE OWNER IS STRANDED AND HAS NO HEAT AND UNABLE TO WALK TO GET HELP. I AM REQUESTING NHTSA TO LOOK INTO THIS BECAUSE JEEP IS STONEWALLING THE PUBLIC AND THIS IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT THE PUBLIC SHOULD BE AWARE OF BY WAY OF A RECALL. PEOPLE RELY UPON THEIR AUTOMOBILES AND EXPECT THEM TO OPERATE ACCORDINGLY AND NOT TO HAVE RANDOM AND INTERMITTENT ENGINE NON STARTS FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND WITH NO EXPLANATION FROM JEEP AND NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM GOING ON 9 YEARS NOW. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS WIDESPREAD PROBLEM KNOWN TO BE AN ISSUE WITH JEEP COMMANDER.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON
VEHICLE WILL TURN ON BUT SHUTS OFF AFTER A FEW SECONDS. RECALLS WERE FIXED
ENGINE STALLS AT SPEEDS ABOVE 60 MPH. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAYS AND HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING 55-60 MPH, THE REAR SEAT SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT ON FIRE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. AFTERWARDS, THE HORN AND RADIO FAILED TO WORK AND ALL THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER (JAKE SWEENEY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 85 W KEMPER RD, CINCINNATI, OH 45246, (513) 782-1000) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 260,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE CENTRAL FLORIDA GREENEWAY, MY SUNROOF AND BRACKET BLEW FROM THE CAR. ESTIMATED SPEED - 65 MPH. THE ELECTRIC SUNROOF WAS IN THE CLOSED POSITION. SUDDENLY, THE GLASS SUNROOF BLEW FROM THE CAR AND HALF THE BRACKET CAME UNASSEMBLED.
AT 100K WITH NO WARNING, ENGINE RUNS HOT, I WAIT FOR 30 MIN TO COOL DOWN.. DRIVE AGAIN AND IT RUNS HOT.. MECHANIC SAYS HEAD GASKET BLOWN..SMDH.. ALONG WITH THAT IT WAS RAINING AND THE SUNROOF STARTS LEAKING. 8 MONTHS PRIOR I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. WHAT A JEEP AND I AM STILL PAYING ON IT.!! THE JEEP PEOPLE NEEDS TO RECALL THESE AND AT LEAST REIMBURSE PEOPLE, NOW IM STUCK WITH BUYING A 5000 ENGINE ON A SET INCOME...BASICALLY COULDVE BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR WITH THE FUNDS I PUT OUT SO FAR..
THE BACK PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE. I FEEL IS IT UNREASONABLE TO HAVE A WORKING HANDLE TO EXIT A VEHICLE. NOW SINCE MY SON IS OLDER, I AM CONCERNED WITH HIS ABILITY TO EXIT OUT SAFELY IN AN EMERGENCY. THE POOR DESIGN CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE FOR OWNERS AND THEIR PASSENGERS.

THE VEHICLE DOOR HANDLES DO NOT FUNCTION ON ANY OF THE FOUR DOORS. THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME DEFECT AND THE ONLY WAY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IS TO LET THE WINDOW DOWN IF YOU ARE ABLE TO AND UNLOCK THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SMOKING, FIRE, ETC., AND PASSENGERS ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE. THIS IS A DEFECT WITH THIS VEHICLE..
FIRST THE SEAT BELT WOULDN'T CLICK INTO PLACE WITHOUT PRESSING DOWN THE RED BUTTON. NOW EVEN IF YOU DO THAT THE SEAT BELT LIGHT/DINGS WILL BE ON THROUGHOUT THE RIDE. I SEE ON THE INTERNET MANY OTHERS HAVING THIS ISSUE.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD @ 40 MPH & MY HORN STARTED SOUNDING NON STOP & KEPT DRAINING MY BATTERY. TURNS OUT IT IS A FAULTY CLOCK SPRING, & MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 51K. THE PART TO FIX IS RETAILED OVER $800 & YOU CANNOT GET AHOLD OF ONE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. WAS TOLD CHRYSLER WILL NOT DO A RECALL BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS OVER 10 YEARS OLD, BUT IT ONLY HAS 51K & THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER JEEP/CHRYSLER MODELS. SINCE IT IS HOOKED TO MY AIRBAG, THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT CHRYSLER DOES NOT SEE IT THAT WAY. WILL NEVER BY ANOTHER JEEP BECAUSE OF THIS.
VALVE SEALS WENT IN ENGINE CAUSING CATASTROPHIC FAIL. SHUT OFF VEHICLE, WENT TO START AGAIN, STARTED BUT STARTED TO MAKE A HORRIBLE NOISE, WOULD NOT STAY STARTED.
WHILE RAINING WATER DRAINS INTO VEHICLE FROM SUNROOF CAUSING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. LIGHTS CONSTANTLY FLICKERING, DASHBOARD LIGHTS CONSTANTLY TURNING ON AND OFF, INTERIOR WATER DAMAGE, RUSTING INSIDE COMPONENTS. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENS CONSTANTLY FORCING ME TO KEEP HEADLIGHTS ON HIGH BEAM AT ALL TIMES WHILE THE CAR IS STATIONARY AS WELL AS IN MOTION ON STREETS AS WELL AS HIGHWAYS. THIS PROBLEM CAUSES UNNECESSARY PROBLEMS BEING THAT WHILE THE CAR IS GOING THROUGH THIS THE TURNING SIGNALS, WIPER BLADES, AIR CONDITIONING TURN OFF AND ON. EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS SERVICED UNDER WARRANTY FOR REAR SEATBELTS THE BELTS ARE CONSTANTLY JAMMING KEEPING MY CHILDREN CAPTIVE AND AT SOME POINTS IT WILL NOT SUCCESSFULLY LATCH.
