THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE CASING CRACKED AND COMPLETELY CRUMBLED. IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE BECAUSE OF THIS. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS THAT IT IS A PREVALENT PROBLEM AND NOT AN ISSUE CAUSED BY NORMAL WEAR. THIS CAN BE A SERIOUS HAZARD IF THE DRIVER NEEDS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE QUICKLY AND CANNOT ACCESS ANOTHER DOOR OR ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TO OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE.
THE VEHICLE HAS POWER FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE STATIONARY WITH ENGINE RUNNING! THE DASHBOARD INSTRUMENT PANEL, GAUGES, LIGHTS, HVAC, RADIO, ETC. SHUTS OFF BUT THE VEHICLE STILL RUNS, AND IT CONTINUES TO TURN OFF AND ON OVER AND OVER AGAIN. ALSO, IT OCCURS WHETHER ON A SMOOTH SURFACE IN MOTION OR WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD, AND IT OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SITTING STILL WITH ENGINE RUNNING. IT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE THE VEHICLE IS ABOUT TO SHUT OFF. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY VEHICLE, REGARDLESS OF THE LOCATION. THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH, AND I FEEL THIS PROBLEM MAY BE RELATED TO THAT ISSUE.
SEATBELTS DO NOT LATCH PROPERLY AND BECOME UNDONE WHILE TIGHTENING. THEY ALSO BECOME STUCK.THIS COULD POSE A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.
THIS MIGHT BE TAMARA INFLATORS. SERVICE LIGHT IS ON FOR PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIRBAG
VEHICLE STALLS RANDOMLY, LOSING POWER BRAKES AND STEERING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE NEEDS TO BE SOLID A RESOLUTION AS PEOPLE CAN'T SPEND TONS OF MONEY ON WHAT THE ISSUE "MIGHT" BE AND THEN GET BACK ON THE ROAD IN THIS DEATH TRAP TO ONLY HAVE IT STALL AGAIN.
2006 COMMANDER STALLS ON HIGHWAY AND THEN STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED.
FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS CAN ONLY BE BUCKLED IF THE RELEASE BUTTON IS DEPRESSED. SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT IS ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE STATIONARY OR WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RESTART AFTER PLACING THE GEAR IN PARK AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 193,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BALL JOINT FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE BALL JOINT FRACTURED, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AS WELL AS BRAKING WAS DIFFICULT DUE TO A BRAKE FLUID LEAK. THE CONTACT VEERED OFF INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND WAS ONLY ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AFTER THE AXLE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER OR DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
2006 JEEP COMMANDER LIMITED 4WD. 179,000 MILES. TRACTION ASSIST IS ACTIVATING WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON DRY PAVEMENT CAUSING UNEXPECTED DECELERATION POWER LOSS. WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT DRY PAVED HIGHWAY, AT APPROXIMATELY 40-45 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STUMBLE AND LOSE POWER. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS BLINKING DURING THIS TIME. DURING WHICH TIME, WHEN I TURN OFF THE TRACTION ASSIST VIA THE BUTTON, THE EFFECT DISAPPEARED. NO FAULT CODES WERE STORED OR SET. THIS ISSUE HAS JUST BEGUN TO OCCUR PERIODICALLY AND HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES. HAVE ALMOST HAD A CRASH EVENT OCCUR WHEN TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC, AND HAD TO TURN OFF THE TRACTION ASSIST VIA THE BUTTON ON THE CENTER CONSOLE.

THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (TWIN CITY DODGE CHRYSLER, 650 SAGAMORE PKWY S, LAFAYETTE, IN 47905) AND WAS INFORMED TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,197.
CAR STALLS OUT WHEN DRIVING OR TAKING TURNS. ALSO STALLS OUT WHEN CAR IS WARMING UP AND NOBODY IS IN THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES. I CAN FEEL WHEN I'M DRIVING IT ALSO RESTATS IT SELF WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL.
WHILE SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE FEELS AS THE LOSS OF POWER. VEHICLE DOES NOT WANT TO MOVE THEN TOLD IT'S IN SOME SORT OF SAFETY MODE I THINK THE LEAD FRAME IS FAILING FROM WHAT I CAN TELL. VEHICLE SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT FAILS TO ACCELERATE BARELY MOVES
THE TCM ON THIS VEHICLE GOES IN NEUTRAL WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING USE 3 DIFFERENT JEEP COMMANDER AND ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE REPORT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IS THE TCM MALFUNCTION
THE DOOR HANDLES HAVE COMPLETELY DISENTEGRATED AN THE WINDOWS NO LONGER OPERATE. THE SEAT BELTS WORK INTERMITTENTLY AND THE DOOR LOCKS UNLOCK AN LOCK AT RANDOM. THE ENGINE STARTS AN STOPS ON IT'S OWN. THIS VEHICLE WAS MY DREAM VEHICLE BUT NOW I FEEL TOTALLY ENDANGERED BY THE LACK OF CARE AND DESIGN BY JEEP. I FEEL IT IS A TICKING TIME BOMB READY TO CAUSE DANGER AT SOME POINT TO ME OR MY FAMILY
DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE BROKE MAKING IT VERY HARD TO GET OUT! VERY DANGEROUS IN THE CASE OF A EMERGENCY!!
TAKATA RECALL MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION @ 75 MPH ON THE HIGH WAY WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED ITSELF INTO 3RD GEAR AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT
ON HIGHWAY DRIVING IN WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS WITH 4X4, ENGINE WOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT AND ENGINE ROD WENT THROUGH THE OIL PAN. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION TRYING TO SLOW DOWN THE ENGINE BY BRAKING. VEHICLE WAS GOING STRAIGHT.
JEEP COMMANDER 2006 LIMITED 5.7 L ENGINE. THE COMPLAINT IS AS FOLLOWS: WHILE DRIVING, AT RANDOM, SLOW AND MEDIUM SPEEDS, ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS ACTIVATE AT ONE TIME FOLLOWED BY IMMEDIATE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. (AT NO TIME DID MY KNEE HIT THE KEY OR IGNITION CYLINDER) THIS ISSUE DOES NOT CLEAR UP ON ITS OWN. THE ONLY SOLUTION TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT IS TO IMMEDIATELY PUT INTO NEUTRAL, PULL OFF THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. (AT THIS TIME, THE CAR IS SPUTTERING SEVERELY OR STALLS) NEXT STEP- TURN THE KEY TO OFF POSITION, WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND RE START THE VEHICLE. IT STARTS AND RUNS NORMALLY. THE LOSS OF POWER AND DASH LIGHT ACTIVATION IS OCCURRING EVERY OTHER DAY. UPON MY OWN FURTHER INVESTIGATION, MANY REPORTS HAVE BEEN LOGGED (WITH BASICALLY THE SAME COMPLAINT) ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM, WITH ADDITIONAL VIDEO PROOF ON U TUBE ( JUST TYPE IN JEEP COMMANDER DASHBOARD HAYWIRE) WITH SEVERAL VIDEOS OF THE INCIDENT. CHYRSLER CUSTOMER CARE CLAIMS ( AS OF TODAY) TO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT - TOLD ME TO CALL LOCAL DEALER, LOCAL JEEP DEALER (CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW) WAS CONTACTED- THEY CLAIM TO NOW NOTHING ABOUT IT. TOLD BOTH AGENCIES TO GET OFF THEIR BUTT TO LOOK AT CAR COMPLAINTS.COM OR JUST VIEW THE NUMEROUS U TUBE VIDEOS. WITH THIS MANY COMPLAINTS, I FIND IT SURPRISING THAT CHRYSLER TO NOT BE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL RECALLS AND HAD THE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER AND REPROGRAM THE FINAL DRIVE CONTROL MODULE COMPLETED MANY MONTHS BEFORE PROBLEM OCCURRED. ANY ASSISTANCE IN RESOLVING THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THE DOOR HANDLES OF MY JEEP COMMANDER 2006 HAVE SNAPPED. THR VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. FIRST IT WAS THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, THEN BEFORE I COULD SCHEDULE TO GET THAT ONE FIXED, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE SNAPPED. I ACCEPTED THAT IT MAY BE COINCIDENCE, UNTIL ONE MONTH LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY DIVERS SIDE DOOR! IT CAN'T BE COINCIDENCE AND NOW I HAVE DIFFICULTY GETTING OUT OF MY VEHICLE. IT DEFINITELY POSES A SAFETY ISSUE.
MY FAVORITE, JEEP COMMANDER 2006 3.7 V6. 103600 MILEAGE. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FROM LAST NOVEMBER. I FEEL LIKE I'M IN A DEATH TRAP BECAUSE WHEN CARS GOING 60 - 70 MPH ON I-495 AND CAR LOST POWER. ALL I CAN REALLY DO IS PRAY THAT MY FAMILY DON'T GET KILLED. THE DEALER FIXED FLIPPING KEY PROBLEM AT THE SAME YEAR OF SUMMER BECAUSE OF THE RECALL. THIS IS REALLY NOT RELATED I BELIEVE. IT HAPPENED 6 TIMES MOSTLY WINTER SEASON BETWEEN NOVEMBER THROUGH JANUARY EASTERN TIME LAST YEAR, AND THIS STALLING PROBLEM CAME BACK LAST SUNDAY DEC 10TH, 2017 WHILE DRIVING ON NORTHERN STATE PARKWAY TO MICRO CENTER IN NY. 3 TIMES ALREADY THIS SEASON. THE BEST WAY ONLY I FOUND FOR OUR SAFETY. SLOWLY MOVE OVER ON THE SHOULDER FINDING PLACE TO STOP WHILE SPEEDING DOWN, AND HAVE ONE CHANCE OF STOP TO BREAK VEHICLE WITHOUT POWER. HOWEVER, LUCKILY IT STARTS AGAIN AND RUNS NORMAL. THE DEALER, DAIMLER CHRYSLER CONSUMER CENTER. THEY NEVER CARE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND KEEP CHARGING FOR THE SERVICE WITHOUT A SOLUTION. MY RESEARCH IS ON GOING TO FIND ECM, PCMA, AND FCM PROBLEMS. I AM SCARED FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY. THE CAR CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. ANY IDEAS, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP US.
VEHICLE WAS SOLD WITH NO LIGHTS IN BACK, INCLUDING BREAK AND REVERSE LIGHTS, BROKEN SEAT BELTS IN BACK SEATS AND ONE BACK SEAT THAT DOES NOT FOLD DOWN WHICH BLOCKS REAR VIEW, AND FINALLY WITH BALD TIRES THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. THE LIGHTS WERE SUPPOSEDLY FIXED BY THE DEALERSHIP'S REPAIR SHOP BUT AFTER ONLY A FEW WEEKS THE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. THE SEAT BELTS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE REPLACED AND WE WERE TOLD THAT REPLACEMENTS WERE ORDERED BUT THE DEALERSHIP NEVER CALLED BACK TO CONFIRM THAT THEY ARRIVED AND READY FOR INSTALLATION, THEY STILL HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE TIRES AND SEAT FOLDING DOWN WERE NOT SAFETY ISSUES AND HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES OURSELVES. THE SEAT STILL DOES NOT FOLD DOWN AND THE LIGHTS ON THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE STILL DON'T STAY ON.
JEEP KEEPS STALLING WHEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND WHILE AT IDLE OR AT STOP SIGN ON CITY STREETS.
THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS PULLING OUT INTO BUSY TRAFFIC FROM A SIDE STREET. I ACCELERATED QUICKLY AND WHEN I BACKED MY FOOT OFF THE PEDDLE THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I TAPPED THE PEDDLE A COUPLE TIMES THINKING IT WAS CAUGHT ON THE FLOOR MATT (NOT).IT BACK OFF AND THEN IT DID IT BRIEFLY AGAIN BEFORE CORRECTING ITSELF. THIS WAS ALL IN A 10 SEC. TIME PERIOD..... THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. I STEPPED DOWN TO PASS A CAR AND THE PEDDLE MOVED TO THE FLOOR AND STAYED THERE FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS, RELEASED AND WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BREAK TRYING NOT TO HIT OTHER CARS AHEAD OF ME. EVERYTIME I LIFT MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE WE WENT FASTER. THEN IT CORRECTED ITSELF AGAIN. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD THE SECOND TIME AND CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NOTHING ON THE FLOOR BOARD THAT MIGHT HAVE INTERFERED WITH THE PEDDLE BUT THERE WAS NOTHING. I WAS NOT USING THE CRUISE CONTROL IN EITHER OCCURRENCE. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT BUT COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN. I DID HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE CAR.
PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT IS SHORTER THAN DRIVER SIDE. PASSENGER SEATBELT IS ALWAYS TIGHT ON THE AVERAGE SIZE PERSON.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IT STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION IN THE PAST THREE YEARS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AT ONCE. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON JACKSON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM IN UNION CITY, GEORGIA TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, ALL OF THE GAUGES ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO (JIM RIEHL'S FRIENDLY CHRYSLER JEEP, 32899 VAN DYKE, WARREN, MI 48093). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE A RECALL AND THE CONTROL MODULE AND TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,987.
THE SUNROOF DRAIN DESIGN WAS FAULTY. DURING RAINING WEATHER, THE SUNROOF DRAINS CANNOT HANDLE THE COLLECTED RAIN AND THE RAIN WILL OVERFLOW AND GO INTO THE CAR. THE RAIN THAT OVERFLOWS FALLS INTO THE FRONT PANEL AND HAS CAUSED MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL FAILURES AND SHORTAGES. MOST IMPORTANTLY THE WATER HAS DAMAGED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND HEADLIGHT CONTROLS WHICH CAUSES THEM TO SHUT OFF WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE.
THE A/C INLET FITTING IS DEFECTIVE CAUSING THE COOLANT TO LEAK OUT AND THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT, THE PCM IS DEFECTIVE AND SAYS THE TIRE PRESSURE IS LOW WHEN IT ISNT
WE HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP 3 TIMES. THIS LAST TIME IT STILL DOES NOT START. THE FUEL PUMP IS GETTING POWER, WE TRACED THE POWER ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE FUEL PUMP AND IT IS GETTING POWER BUT IT IS NOT KICKING ON. WE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR WIRING DIAGRAMS TO TRACE THE LINES BUT NO AVAIL. IF WE GET IT TO RUN IF IT GETS SHUT OFF WE CANNOT GET IT TO RESTART SOMETIMES FOR DAYS. WE HAVE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AT TIMES AND IT WILL START FOR A TIME OR TWO BUT IT GOES BACK TO NOT STARTING AGAIN. WITH THE AIR BAG, THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON IN THE DASH AND DOES NOT GO OUT.
VALVE SEAT DROPPED INTO ENGINE CAUSING CATOSTAPHIC FAILURE. ENGINE WILL NOT IDLE. THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. OUT OF WARRANTY. REPLACEMENT COST IS $6700.00. I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY CHRYSLER, DODGE OR JEEP PRODUCT AGAIN. THE FAILUR HAPOENED UPON STARTUP WITH NO WARNING.
1ST MY CAR HAS BEEN HAVING STARTING ISSUES. THE FUEL PUMP WAS CHANGED TWICE AND THAT'S NOT THE ISSUE.IT SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM THE WIRING HEADING INTO THE FUSE PANEL IN THE ENGINE. WHEN I MOVE IT AROUND IT STARTS SOMETIMES. AND ALSO WHEN I PUT BLACK TAPE AROUND THE WIRES IT SEEMS TO CORRECT THE ISSUES FOR WEEKS AT A TIME. THE PROBLEM IS U NEVER KNOW WHEN ITS GONNA START OR NOT. NOW MY ENGINE, TRACTION CONTROL AND ESP/BAS WARNING LIGHTS ARE COMING ON. WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE TRANSMISSION STARTS GOING HAYWIRE AND FEELS LIKE ITS ONLY RUNNING ON 1 GEAR PLUS WHEN I REVERSE IT FEELS LIKE SOMETHING GRINDS IN THE GEARS. HOWEVER WHEN THOSE WARNING LIGHTS GO OFF EVERYTHING SEEMS TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. RECENTLY ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP WARNING CAME ON AND MY AC STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR AND SHORTLY AFTER THE CAR STALLED IN TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT BUT THEN IT FELT LIKE THE CAR DROVE ALL THE WAY HOME USING 2ND GEAR ONLY IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. FROM READING OTHER ISSUES PEOPLE ARE HAVING ONLINE ITS OBVIOUS THIS MODEL IS HAVING MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO CORRECT. I AM A JEEP LOVER BUT THIS MODEL HAS COMPLETELY MADE IT DIFFICULT ON ME SINCE ITS MY ONLY CAR AND ITS SO UNRELIABLE. I DON'T HAVE THE MEANS TO REPLACE IT RIGHT NOW SO THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN UNFORTUNATE FOR ME

AFTER I CUT THE OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN I CAN SHIFT MY VEHICLE FROM PARK TO DRIVE WITHOUT A LOUD SCREECHING SOUND. TODAY, I HAD TO USE MY EMERGENCY BRAKES JUST TO KEEP MY VEHICLE STILL AFTER I PUT IT IN PARK. SEEMS AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO ANOTHER GEAR AND GETS STUCK UNTIL I CUT MY VEHICLE OFF. I BELIEVE IT MAY BE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE OR TRANSFER CASE ISSUE. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THE TCM BUT I DIDN'T HAVE IT DONE. I NEED HELP, THIS IS GETTING TO SCARY, CONSTANTLY PAYING FOR A VEHICLE AND CALL THE MANUFACTURER AND NOBODY WANTS TO DO ANYTHING.

I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT A REPAIR KIT AND WAS TOLD THAT JEEP ONLY HAD A KIT FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE AND I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL FOR $350.00+. 3 PICTURES ATTACHED. BROKEN HANDLE, BROKEN PIECES, AND DRIVER HANDLE INTACT.
ALL DOOR HANDLES ARE BROKEN AND HAVE BECOME IN OPERABLE FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ALSO WHEN STARTING THE JEEP IT WILL RUN FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN SHUT OFF. AFTER STARTING YOU CAN SHIFT TO DRIVE AND IT PUTS YOU IN DRIVE 3 THEM IT WILL QUIT. WHEN U START AND IT SHIFT INTO DRIVE THE JEEP WILL REMAIN RUNNING.
AFTER HAVING THE RECALLED IGNITION AND TCM REPLACED/REPROGRAMMED THE ESP,BAS AND TRACTION LIGHTS COME AND THE TWO DRIVER SIDE BRAKES AND TIRES LOCK UP, MAKES A TERRIBLE GRINDING NOISE, AND THE VEHICLE SLIDES WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A TURN. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WITHOUT WARNING.

AND THIS HAPPENS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND NO CODE WAS REVEALED AND THEY COULDN'T FIX. TOOK IT TO OTHER AUTO PARTS AND THE SAME RESULT CAME OUT WHEN THE HOOK IT UP TO THE COMPUTER. NO CODE. I HAVE FOUND THIS EXACT PROBLEM MENTIONED ON MULTIPLE JEEP FORUM SITES MENTIONING CODE P0700 TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM. THIS IS MALFUNCTIONING IN A UNSAFE MANNER AND I WAS TOLD IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED YET. DON'T YOU HAVE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ON THIS THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD BE DOING A RECALL?

TOOK IT BACK TO SHOP, THEY DID A SECOND REPAIR AND CHARGED ME $2959.50. THEY DIDNT DESCRIBED WHAT THEY DID THE SECOND TIME. I HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE..SO FAR.
OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS,ALL FOUR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN. THE DAMAGE OCCURRED WITH NOTHING MORE THAN NORMAL USAGE. THE BREAKAGE HAS LEFT ALL DOORS INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO OPEN. THIS BREAKAGE COULD SLOW AN OCCUPANTS ABILITY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER OWNERS OF JEEPS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. I FEEL JEEP SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF THIS APPARENT DESIGN FLAW AND OWNERS SHOULD BE PROVIDED COMPENSATION FOR THE REPAIR.

THE TWO RECALLS AVAILABLE ON THE VEHICLE AS IT RELATES TO THIS ISSUE (TCM/PCM ) ( IGNITION SWITCH) HAVE BEEN RECENTLY FIXED BY THE DEARLERSHIP, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO MULFUNCTION IN THE SAME MANNER AND APPEARS TO BE GETTING WORSE. CONTACTING CHRYSLER, THEY ARE ABRASIVE AND UNCOOPERATIVE. A LITTLE RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL OWNER COMPLAINTS ON THIS VERY ISSUE DATING BACK TO 2006-2007-2008. THERE APPEARS TO BE AN "ACTIVE" INVESTIGATION ONGOING BY THE NHTSA-OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATIONS. WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THIS INVESTIGATION-10 YEARS LATER??? THERE APPEARS TO BE NO INTEREST ON THE PART OF THE MANAUFACTURER TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITHOUT THE VEHICLE OWNER INCURRING MASSIVE LOSES IN ENDLESS DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR EXPENSES.
