WHILE DRIVING THE SERVICE REAR PARK ASSIST MESSAGE CAME ON AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN THIS HAPPENS ALL THE LIGHTS AROUND THE TRANSMISSION LETTERS ON THE DASHBOARD START TO FLASH AND THE TRANSMISSION STARTS TO SLIP. THIS HAPPENS WHEN YOU ACCELERATE. HAVE HAD VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 3 WEEKS NOW AND HAVE HAD NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM . AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT TRANSMISSION SLIPPING WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC.
ON CHRISTMAS I BACKED THE JEEP OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY SO I COULD DRIVE MY TRUCK. BUMPED THE CURB SLIGHTLY WHILE PARKING AND VEHICLE DIED. STARTED RIGHT BACK UP SO I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. TODAY MY WIFE TOOK THE KIDS TO SCHOOL IN IT AND RAN FINE. PARKED FOR TWO HOURS AND WENT TO START AND IT WILL CRANK BUT NOT TURN OVER. FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T READ CORRECTLY. AT FULL IT SAYS HALF A TANK AND WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING IT MAY DROP TO BELOW EMPTY WITH A FULL TANK. I HAVE BEEN READING ALL THE REPORTS ABOUT THE 2006 COMMANDER AND A LOT OF PEOPLE SEEM TO BE HAVING THIS STARTING PROBLEM. I HAUL MY FAMILY AROUND IN IT BECAUSE WE CAN'T ALL FIT IN MY TRUCK BUT I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN IT BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GONNA CUT OUT AND DIE. MY KIDS RANGE FROM 1 WEEK TO 11 AND I DON'T REALLY WANT THEM IN IT. I'M THINKING IT A FUEL PUMP OR WIRING ISSUE. BOTH ISSUES OCCURRED IN MY DRIVEWAY OR RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. *TR
THE GEAR INDICATOR HAS THE PRND AND IT INDICATES WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN. WHEN YOU TRY TO DRIVE THE CAR IT INDICATES THAT IT IS IN ALL GEARS. WHEN IT DOES THIS IT STUMBLES REALLY BADLY. YOU HAVE TO PUT IT BACK TO DRIVE TO DRIVE NORMAL. IT CAN HAPPEN ABOUT 3 TIMES A DAY. RIGHT AFTER IT HAPPENS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS. I HAVE SEARCHED ONLINE AND AT LEAST 50 OTHER PEOPLE WITH A 2006/2007 JEEP COMMANDER HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. SOME PEOPLE SAY IT HAPPENS TO THEM (ALL GEARS LIGHT UP) WHILE THEY ARE DRIVING. THIS CAUSES THEIR VEHICLE TO NOT ACCELERATE OR "JERK" BACK AND FORTH. THEY HAVE TO PULL OVER AND START THE CAR AGAIN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS UP. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I WARM IT UP FOR OVER 10 MINUTES IT WILL STILL DO IT WHEN I PUT IT ON REVERSE OR DRIVE. I AM WORRIED IT WILL GET WORSE AND HAPPEN LIKE THE OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE WHEN I'M DRIVING OR ON THE FREEWAY. ONLINE MANY PEOPLE WRITE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2006/2007 JEEP COMMANDER. MANY DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS.
AFTER DRIVING FOR SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME ( 15-20 MINUTES) THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO LAG INTO SHIFTING. THERE IS ALSO A PROBLEM WHEN TRYING TO MANUALLY SHIFT GEARS. TRIED SHIFTING INTO LOW GEAR AT STOP LIGHT, AND THE INDICATOR ON THE DASH STAYS IN ' D' AND WILL NOT ENGAGE IN OTHER LOWER GEARS. IT ALSO APPEARS TO LAG WHEN TRAVELING AT A STEAD SPEED, ABOUT 30-45 MILES PER HOUR.
PROBLEM WITH IGNITION SWITCH CAUSES DASH NOT TO WORK AND CAR NOT TO BE ABLE TO START MOST OF TIME. KEY DOES NOT STAY IN PROPER POSITION IN IGNITION. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. *TR
MY VEHICLE STALLS AND CUTS OFF WHEN STOPPED AT STOP SIGNS AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS. THE ENGINE ALSO SHAKES AND ACTS AS IF IT WANTS TO DIE WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR RECALLS AFTER I LEFT THE SERVICE CENTER IT ONCE AGAIN CUT OFF AT THE FIRST STOP LIGHT I CAME TO. *TR
2006 JEEP COMMANDER 4X4 DIES AT LOW SPEED. ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT ON FREEWAY. HAD THE IGNITION RECALL TAKEN CARE OF. HOPING THAT IT WAS THE PROBLEM. IT WAS NOT... NOW TRYING TO SELL VEHICLE AND DON'T WANT TO CUZ I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE ELSE GET HURT. IN THAT DEATH TRAP THE JEEP NOW SITS IN MY SIDE YARD MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE IT. EVERY SINGLE DOOR HANDLE IN THE JEEP BROKE UNDER NORMAL USE SOMEWHAT ABLE TO OPEN FROM INSIDE, BUT A VERY BIG SAFTY HAZARDS WHEN MY KIDS OR PASSENGERS CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. KINDA SCARY WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT. SLIGHTLY AFTER REVIEVING MY USED JEEP ONE DOOR HANDLE AFTER THE OTHER BREAKS UPON BUMPING INTO HANDLE.
CHRYSLER JEEP ,MY WIFE AND I ARE DIE HARD JEEP CUSTOMERS. OUR 06 COMMANDER IS A SAFETY PROBLEM!! ALL INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE BROKE. THE REAR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES WILL NOT OPEN THE DOORS AT ALL. MAKING IT UNSAFE FOR ANY PASSENGERS,ESPECIALLY OUR CHILDREN.HELP ME MAKE OUR 06 JEEP COMMANDER SAFE AGAIN RECALL THESE HANDLES FOR PUBLIC SAFETY.......
TRANMISSIOM GOING OUT. GEAR NOT SHIFTING INTO DRIVE.
THE VEHICLE STALLS IN MOTION ON BOTH RESIDENTIAL AND HIGHWAY AND LOSES POWER STEERING. CRUISE CONTROL ONCE YOU SET IT ACCELERATION OCCURS ON ITS OWN THIS OCCURRED ON THE HIGHWAY. IGNITION BUMPS OUT OF THE ON POSITION INTO ACCESSORY OR OFF ON IT'S OWN.
TAKATA RECALL THE MOTOR KEEPS DYING WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC THAT TOLD ME THAT THE MOTOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE MOTOR HAS TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE ONLY HAS LESS THAN 85000 MILES. THE MECHANIC TOLD US TO BUY A JASPER MOTOR BECAUSE JASPER MADE CHANGES TO THE MOTOR BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL MOTOR WAS DEFECTIVE. MOPAR NO LONGER MAKES THE MOTOR AND REFERRED US TO AN AER MOTOR. THE PARTS DEPARTMENT AT CHRYSLER SAID THAT THEY ARE NOT SURE OR NOT IF THE ORIGINAL MOPAR MOTOR HAS MADE THE SAME CHANGES TO THE MOTOR THAT JASPER HAS MADE. JASPER STATES THAT CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE MOTOR AND SPECIFICALLY STATES THAT IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO SOLVE THE DEFECTIVE ISSUES OF AN ORIGINAL 2006 MOTOR. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE IT HAS HAPPENED TO. MOTORS WERE BEING REPLACED AT 75,000 MILES ARE A COMMON PROBLEM ACCORDING TO GOOGLE ON THIS MODEL. *TR
THE VEHICLE CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONS: NOW EVEN PRESSING "SET" AT LEAST WHILE DRIVING OVER 40 MPH MAKES THE VEHICLE ACCELERATE FAST EVEN TO 80 MPH SO I PRESS BRAKE PEDAL WHICH DOES DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL. EVEN IF YOU TURN CRUISE CONTROL OFF AND THEN BACK ON IT KEEPS ON HAPPENING EVERY TIME YOU PRESS SET. I DISCONNECTED POWER TO THE CRUISE CONTROL.
MY CAR WILL NOT START. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE, AND THERE HAS BEEN NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENS.
REAR SEATBELT LATCHES ARE BREAKING, AND SUSCEPTIBLE TO BREAKAGE. THE ORANGE RELEASE BUTTON ON THE SEATBELTS BREAK EASILY. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THERE'S AN EMERGENCY AND THE OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE MATERIAL IN THE LATCH RELEASE, POSSIBLY TRAPPING THE OCCUPANT. I SUSPECT THAT THE MATERIAL USED FOR THESE PLASTIC RELEASE LATCHES WAS INCORRECTLY SPECIFIED, AND BECAME BRITTLE OVER TIME.
VEHICLE STALLS FOR NO REASON. USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN PULLING FROM MY DRIVEWAY AFTER BEING PARKED. AFTER DRIVING FOR A FEW HUNDRED YARDS, TO THE INTERSECTION OF THE MAIN ROAD. UPON HITTING THE BRAKE AND STOPPING, THE VEHICLE STALLED. IF I HAD ROLLED INTO THE INTERSECTION, I WOULD HAVE BEEN RIGHT ON A MAIN ROAD WITHOUT ENGINE RUNNING. NO WARNING, IT JUST STALLS. I HAD THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT THAT WAS REPLACED ALREADY, AND THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST IN THE SAME PLACE AND SITUATIONS EVERY TIME. I START THE VEHICLE, AND WITHOUT MUCH DELAY, BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. PULL DOWN THE STREET, MAKE A RIGHT TURN AFTER ABOUT 40 YARDS. MAKE A LEFT TURN AFTER ABOUT 100 YARDS. THEN MOVE FORWARD TO THE STOP SIGN AT THE MAIN INTERSECTION ABOUT 80 YARDS FURTHER. UPON STOPPING, THE VEHICLE STALLS. IT'S HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES IN THE PAST 3 YEARS, AND TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK. IT SURELY IS A DANGER, BECAUSE I LOSE POWER AND COULD ROLL INTO AN INTERSECTION OR CAUSE ANOTHER HAZARD.
I WENT TO START MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER AND IT WOULD TURN OVER, BUT IT WOULD NOT START. I FINALLY WORKED WITH IT A LITTLE BIT AND GOT IT TO START, BUT THEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I CUT IT OFF AND TRIED IT AGAIN AND EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL. HOWEVER, WHEN I GOT GOING, THERE WAS A HORRIBLE GAS SMELL COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS STARTING ISSUE HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND EVERY TIME THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT A PUBLIC PLACE AFTER IT HAD BEEN RUNNING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES.
SEAT BELT WARNING CHIME CONTINUALLY SOUNDS WHEN FRONT DRIVER OR PASSENGER SEAT BELTS ARE LATCHED, THE SEATS ARE OCCUPIED, AND THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
WE HAVE A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER AND IT SOMETIMES JERKS BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING SOMETIMES IT EVEN SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE THE POWER STEERING WORKS ONLY PART OF THE TIME AND THE AIRBAG SYSTEM SAYS ITS OFF ALL THE TIME AND IT WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING SOMETIMES TOO REALLY FRUSTRATED WITH THIS VEHICLE ITS A DISASTER AND WAITING TO HAPPEN
INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE PLASTIC HOUSING BROKE ON TWO OF FOUR DOORS, THE DRIVER FRONT AND PASSENGER REAR. THE DRIVE SIDE CRACKED WHEN I OPENED IT. THE PASSENGER REAR BROKE IN HALF WHEN MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER OPENED THE DOOR. THIS IS NOW A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE DOOR IS VERY HARD TO OPEN.
2006 JEEP COMMANDER RANDOMLY WILL NOT START. BATTERY TESTS FINE...TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND PAID OVER $400 AND THE REPLACED THE STARTER AND YELLOW SOLINOID CABLE WHICH BRINGS POWER TO THE STARTER. STILL WILL NOT START OCCASIONALLY. THE DASH LIGHTS UP, BUT THE ENGINE DOESN'T TURN OVER...WAIT 5 MINUTES AND IT MAY START AT OTHER TIMES IT WON'T. VERY FRUSTRATING, BECAUSE IT IS RANDOM...MAY GO A WEEK STARTING FINE, AND THEN SUDDENLY IT WON'T START. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, SOMETIMES ONLY AFTER SHORT 5 MINUTE TRIPS TO THE STORE, AND SOMETIMES AFTER LONG TRIPS. ALSO, I ALREADY HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED DUE TO RECALL.
MY JEEP DIDN'T PULL CORRECTLY, IT BACK FIRE AND WIND. WE TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER TO GET IT FIX. THE MECHANIC TOLD US THAT THE SOLENOID WENT BAD... SO WERE CHARGED $405 FOR A CONVERTER, $357 FOR A SOLENOID, $7.75 FOR A SEALER, AND $3.60 FOR A NUT NONE... TOTAL LABOR AND PARTS $1930.31... TODAY WE GO TO PICK IT UP, AND IT STILL MAKES THE SAME NOISE AND THE PROBLEM WORSEN. WE LEFT IT THERE TO BE FIXED AGAIN... AT THE MOMENT WE ARE OUT OF $2000, NO CAR, AND THEN HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG WITH MY CAR AND IT'LL BE $800 MORE TO FIX IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I TOLD THEM I WANTED TO SPEAK WITH THE OWNER, HE SAID HE'LL CALL ME BACK.. NOT EVEN TWO MINUTES LATER, HE GOES... "WE'LL TAKE CARE OF IT...
SEVERAL TIMES OVER A COUPLE OF MONTHS THIS VEHICLE HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. AUTO SHOPS CANNOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM.
JUST PURCHASED, CAR FAX SHOWS OPEN RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER THE CRASH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V43800 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST STARTED AND THEN OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNKNOWN SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,350.

THE AC/HEATER CONTROL UNTIL HAS A SHORT WHEN YOU PUSH THE BREAKS IT GOES OFF. PLUS IT HAS AFFECTED MY NAV/RADIO SYSTEM. I AM AFRAID THAT MY VWHICLE IS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE. YOU CAN HIT A BUMP WHILE DRIVING AND IT WILL WORK. THE NAV/RADIO SYSTEM WILL TURN ON WHEN IT WANTS BUT AS SOON AS YOU PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE OR TAP THE BREAKS IT GOES OFF. SOMETIMES IT SMELLS LIKE BURNT PLASTIC ON THE CONTROL PANEL WHERE THE AC/HEATER IS LOCATED. I HAVE SPOKE WITH THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP NEAR ME. THEY WILL NOT LOOK AT IT WITHOUT WANTING TO CHARGE ME AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICES. THIS IS NOT MY FAULT AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS ACTING LIKE I MADE A MISTAKE AND TORE UP MY VEHICLE. I CAN GET NO ANSWER OUT OF THEM.
FOR THE PASSED 3 YEARS OUR VEHICLE HAS SWITCHED GEARS FROM DRIVE TO 3RD GEAR, WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE JOLTS AND CHANGES GEAR FOR A FEW MONTHS AND RETURNS BACK TO NORMAL. WE CONTINUE TO USE IT AT 3RD GEAR. THERE IS NO WAY TO CHANGE IT BACK TO DRIVE MANUALLY. WE'VE TAKEN IT IN TO AUTO SHOPS AND THE SYMPTOMS RETURN. *TR

Radiator coolant system failed and caused the engine to overheat and loss of power while traveling on an interstate highway. Pulled over to side of highway. The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic shop. The shop evaluated the engine could not start as it had seized from overheating. It was determined that the radiator plastic end caps suddenly failed causing the engine to overheat and seize. The radiator temperature is very high and the plastic and aluminum materials expand and contract at different rates therefore weakening the connection between the two materials until the part fails. This is a bad design, application, and mix of materials in a part that does follow the basic principles of thermodynamics.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 13V175000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN) AND 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
EVERYTIME IT RAINS THE FLOOR GETS FLOODED TO THE ANKLE
INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT START. TURN KEY ON, GET A HALF CRANK, THEN NOTHING. AFTER 5-10 MINUTES OF TRYING, IT WILL FINALLY START. HAD AN IGNITION RECALL, WHICH THE SERVICE WAS PERFORMED BY JEEP DEALER. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE STARTER. STILL HAVING THE ISSUE AFTER HAVING IT LOOKED AT 4 TIMES. THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE WHEN IT IS IN THE SHOP, SO THEY CANNOT FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH IT. PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED IN 09/15 AND HAVE BEEN HAVING THE ISSUE EVER SINCE.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND CAR SHUT DOWN AS TURNING RIGHT AT STREET LIGHT. HAD TO RESTART CAR. DRIVER SIDE DOOR INTERIOR HANDLE IS BROKEN. CANNOT OPEN DOOR. DASH LIGHTS DO NOT WORK, RADIO VOLUME GOES UP AS YOU ARE TURNING THE CONTROLS DOWN. FRAME IS RUSTED...TOLD WOULD BE RUSTED THROUGH IN ANOTHER YEAR. CAR HAS 125,000 MILES ON IT. I'M THE ONLY OWNER. NORMAL DRIVING, NO OFF ROAD TRAVEL.
WHEN I AM DRIVING ON THE MAIN CITY ROAD OR HIGHWAY I NOTICE ABOUT THREE THINGS THAT HAPPEN ALL AT ONCE. THE FIRST THING IS I LOSE CONTROL OF MY STEERING. THE SECOND THING IS IT FEELS LIKE MY JEEP WENT INTO PARK CAUSING ALL MY WHEELS TO BREAK FOR 1 TO 3 SECOND. THE THIRD THING IS IT FEELS AS THE ENGINE STALLED. ALL THESE THINGS HAPPEN AT THE SAME TIME. THIS CAUSES MY JEEP TO STOP OR STALL ON THE ROAD SENDING ME AND MY PASSENGERS TO LOUNGE FORWARD AS IF I HAD HIT AN INVISIBLE WALL AT FULL FORCE.
I HAVE A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER 4.7. LAST MONTH AFTER COMING HOME FROM ANOTHER STATE, THE CAR PARKED FOR SEVERAL DAYS WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN IT WOULD NOT CRANK WHEN I WENT TO START IT... JUST THE CLICKING SOUND. MY BOYFRIEND JUMPED IT AND IT OVERHEATED HIS CABLE. THEN IT HAPPENED AFTER SITTING JUST OVERNIGHT, SAME SCENARIO. I DID NOT LEAVE ANYTHING ON LIKE LIGHTS, ETC. I HAD THE BATTERY CHECKED AND IT WAS FINE. IT BEGAN TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY (SEVERAL NIGHTS IN A ROW). TOOK IT INTO A DEALER AND HE REPLACED A FEW PARTS BUT NOTHING CHANGED. THEN THE BATTERY STARTED DRAINING AFTER SITTING FOR 15 MINUTES WITH THE IGNITION OFF. TOOK IT TO A FRIEND WHO'S AN AUTO MECHANIC, HE SAID SOMETHING WAS DISCHARGING FROM SOMEWHERE.
REGARDLESS OF DISTANCE TRAVELED, OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE, THE 'TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP' MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE DASH. HAD COOLANT FLUSHED 2X BUT MESSAGE STILL APPEARS INTERMITTENTLY. HAD MECHANIC LOOK AT MORE THAN A FEW TIMES, HOWEVER COULD NOT REPLICATE MESSAGE AND THUS NO RESOLUTION/FIX TO PROBLEM. JEEP RECENTLY HAD IGNITION SWITCH RECALL COMPLETED (THOUGHT THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN) BUT 'TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP' WOULD OCCUR PRIOR TO THAT RECALL BEING COMPLETED. THOUGHT THE TWO WERE CONNECTED SOMEHOW. MAIN CONCERN IS THE ENGINE DOES NOT OVERHEAR, TEMP READS BELOW MIDDLE MARK BUT WHEN TRANSMISSION MESSAGE APPEARS, AFTER A FEW MINUTES, TRANSMISSION FEELS 'OFF' OR JUMPY. SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, NOT CONFIDENT TAKING IT ON LONG TRIPS BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR, NOT TO MENTION BEING STRANDED. THIS IS MY GIRLFRIENDS TRUCK AND I'M NOT COMFORTABLE HAVING HER DRIVE TOO FAR, ESPECIALLY IN THE EVENING. HIS IS INCONVENIENT BECAUSE WE TAKE CARE OF OUR VEHICLES, THIS TRUCK HAS LOW MILES, 62,000. WOULD REALLY LIKE TO RESOLVE THIS BECAUSE WE LOVE THE TRICK BUT CANNOT TRUST TAKING IT ON TRIPS, TOWING OUR BOAT WHICH WAS THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF HAVING TRUCK. WHAT A STRESSFUL VEHICLE TO HAVE. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS TRUCK. AGAIN, THE TRANSMISSION OVER TEMP WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY, ON THE HIGHWAY AT TIMES, IN TRAFFIC, SMALL TRIPS, AFTER SITTING PARKED AFTER A SHORT TRIP, MESSAGE REAPPEARS ONCE TRUCK IS STARTED AGAIN. MAY 29TH, 1026, WHILE DRIVING ALONG I-80 IN NORTH PLATTE, NEBRASKA THE JEEP SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING ACCELERATED ON ME CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I COULD NOT GET THE JEEP UNDER CONTROL, RAN OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A HIGHWAY SIGN BEFORE GETTING CONTROL. ONE WITNESS EVEN STATED THAT IT LOOKED AS IF THE JEEP "JUST TOOK OFF". WHEN YOU GO TO BRAKE THE PEDAL GETS HARD AND THE VEHICLE KEEPS ROLLING I HAVE TO REPLACE ALL 4 WHEEL SENSOR (ABS) AND GET COMPUTER REPROGRAMMED FOR IT TO STOP COSTING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO DO OVER THE TIME THAT I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE I HAVE LEARNED TO PERFORM SUCH TASK ON MY OWN . BUT I AM SICK AND TIRED OF EVERY SUMMER HAVING TO BUY 4 50 DOLLAR SENSORS AND GETTING CHARGED 125 DOLLARS TO REDO THE COMPUTER AND NOT TO MENTION WHEN THE JEEP DECIDES TO ACT UP IT PUT MY CHILD AND MOTHER TO MY CHILD IN SERIOUS DANGER NEVER KNOWING WHEN IT WILL MISFUNCTION AGAIN AND LIKE MANY OTHERS I AM UPSIDE DOWN ON THE PAYMENTS OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO ALL THE MONEY INVESTED.

I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2010 AND WITHIN A MONTH SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES WERE INTERMITTENTLY OCCURRING. THE DEALER SAID THE IGNITION HAD TO BE REPLACED AND DID SO. THESE PROBLEMS SEEMED TO CONTINUE THOUGHT NOT OFTEN. THE SYMPTOMS ARE AS FOLLOWS-FIRST THE LIGHTS START FLICKERING AND THEN GO OUT. ALL OF THE DASH COMPONENTS GO OUT INCLUDING THE SPEEDOMETER, FUEL GAGE, RADIO ETC. THE AC FAN ALSO TURNED OFF. THIS CONDITION DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE FROM RUNNING IT JUST TURNED OFF THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS THERE WAS HOWEVER A PROBLEM WITH STALLING, A SEPARATE ISSUE FROM THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE., A FEW TIMES WHILE IN THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED IT WOULD STALL WHEN STOPPING OR STARTING OFF AGAIN. THIS WAS TRUE IN REVERSE AND FORWARD. I WAS NEVER REALLY WORRIED ABOUT SAFETY UNTIL LAST NIGHT WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON A DARK CURVY COUNTRY ROAD. IT WAS ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS BUT IT WAS TERRIFYING. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH. IN 2015 THERE WERE SEVERAL RECALLS ISSUED AND THEY SEEMED TO BE RELATED TO THE PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING. I HAD ALL OF THE RECALL NOTICES DEALT WITH. THE SOFTWARE UPGRADES AND THE IGNITION REPLACEMENT. THIS DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. IN FACT IT
