TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING ALONG AS NORMAL ON THE CITY STREET WITH MINIMAL AND MY VEHICLE CUT OFF ON ITS OWN. IT WILL NOT TURN OVER OR EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER.
TAKATA RECALL ABOUT A MONTH AGO I WAS TRAVELING AT 70MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. WHEN EXITING THE INTERSTATE MY CAR JUST SHUT IT'S SELF OFF. NO WARNING LIGHTS, SOUNDS, ETC. WE TRIED FOR ABOUT 20 MINS TO GET IT TO START BACK AND STAY RUNNING ONCE RUNNING WE TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO A MECHANIC WHO PUT IT ON A MACHINE. NO PROBLEMS SHOWED UP ON THE MACHINE AT ALL AND IT'S BEEN FINE EVER SINCE UNTIL TODAY. THIS TIME MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEED(S) 35-50MPH ALL DASH LIGHTS CAME ON IN SEQUENCE AND THEN THE ENGINE STALLED. LUCKILY THIS WAS AT 230 AM AND NEAR A CLOSED BUSINESS PARKING LOT AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE ROAD WAY. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS OF THE VEHICLE MOTION STOPPING THE LIGHTS, RADIO AND ALL ELECTRIC DIED AND WOULD NOT START. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND I GUESS JEEP IS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE AND HAVE THEIR FAMILY SUE THEM. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON 2006 COMMANDERS DOING THE SAME THING. I BOUGHT MINE 12/24/2018 AND I AM THE THIRD OWNER. FIRST OWNER WAS A LEASEE AND PUT 22K MILES ON IT. SECOND OWNER HAD THE VEHICLE FROM 2010 TO 12/15/2018 AND IT HAD 80,500 MILES WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I HAVE ONLY PUT LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON IT AND I AM HAVING SERIOUS CONCERNS ON KEEPING IT. 3.7V6/AUTO 4X4 SPORT
POWER DOOR LOCK FUSE BLOWS DUE TO SHORT IN WIRE WHERE IT COUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNT HOLE IN CARPET IN THE BACK SEAT
THE 2007 JEEP COMMANDER I OWN IS HAVING A FUEL PUMP RELAY ISSUE.IT WILL NOT START BUT CONTINUOUSLY TURNS OVER ALSO WE HAVE HAD THE CAR STALL OUT ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS MAKING IT A RATHER DANGEROUS SITUATION. MANY OF THE VEHICLES FROM 07 AND UP HAD A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT REASON BUT UNFORTUNATELY MINE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. I AM CERTAIN THAT THIS IS MY ISSUE BUT THE MANUFACTURER HAS REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITHOUT PAYING AN ARM AND A LEG.
TRANSMISSION OVER TEMPERATURE WARNING. WON'T START. STARTER DOES NOT ENGAGE. LET SIT FOR MANY HOURS, THEN WILL START.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SWITCHED INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE NORMALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWO OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,900.
2007 JEEP COMMANDER WITH 112,000 EST MILES, BOUGHT USED IN AK 2016. A WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT IT I KEPT HAVING O2 SENSOR CODES POP UP. I HAVE HAD ALL SENSORS REPLACED MORE THAN ONCE AND NUMEROUS OTHER PARTS WITH THE LATEST BEING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAVE SPENT SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TRYING TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE. TODAY WAS MY BREAKING POINT, I WAS DRIVING ON I-24 TO NASHVILLE TO TAKE MY SON TO AN APPOINTMENT AT VANDERBILT. IT WAS RAINING THIS MORNING, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE RED LIGHTING BOLT AND OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON. MY JEEP LOST POWER, THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK, THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND I WAS SCARED I WAS GOING TO GET HIT. I PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND WAS ABLE TO GET ACROSS 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER. I SHUT THE JEEP OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WAS NORMAL AGAIN WITH JUST THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. I WAS SO SCARED TO DRIVE BACK TO CLARKSVILLE, FEARING THAT IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. I SAW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS HAD THIS ISSUE. I CALLED CORPORATE AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING REALLY THEY CAN DO. I SAID WHAT IS IT GOING TAKE, SOMEONE, DYING OR GETTING INTO A WRECK?? I AM DISAPPOINTED IN HOW THIS HAS BEEN HANDLED. MY LATEST CARFAX SHOWS THAT THIS JEEP HAS HAD THE SAME ISSUES OVER AND OVER, WITH NOTHING REALLY GETTING RESOLVED.
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, MY JEEP HAS JOLTED LIKE IT HAD LOST POWER FOR A BRIEF MOMENT. THE JOLT WAS SEVERE ENOUGH THAT IT MADE MY ARMS ACHE FROM IT. THIS WORRIES ME AS I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT COMPLETE STALLS AT HIGH SPEEDS AND THIS COULD CAUSE A SEVERE ACCIDENT. MY JEEP HAS 150,000 MILES ON IT. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE THERE IS A FATALITY.
AIR BAG CAME ON AND DOESN'T GO OFF, ENGINE LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY EVEN AFTER VEHICLE IS REPAIRED. VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. SEAT BELTS ARE BROKEN WOKE STAY AFTER BEING REPAIRED. WINDOWS GET STCK.
UNDER HEAVY RAIN, THE VEHICLE LEAKS ON THE INSIDE TO THE POINT OF A BIG PUDDLE IN THE FLOOR OF THE DRIVER SIDE WHILE STATIONARY. THIS HAS ALSO CAUSED A PROBLEM WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL AND ON-SCREEN NAV IT NOW GOES ON AND OFF DISPLAYING THE JEEP LOGO AS IF THE CAR WAS JUST STARTING UP AND I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING.
WHILE SITTING AT A LIGHT. MY JEEP JUST DIED OUT ON ME. NO REASON NOTHING ACTING OUTSIDE OF THE NORMAL. TRIED TO RESTART AND AFTER A FEW TRIES WAS ABLE TO RESTART.
JEEP SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVE DOWN ROAD, JEEP RESTARTS WITHOUT ISSUE, AND WILL RUN WITHOUT PROBLEMS. THIS HAS BEEN THE 11TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENS, THIS TIME I WAS ALSO REAR ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK. I HAVE HAD THIS LOOKED AT FROM DODGE MANY TIMES OVER THE YEARS, BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE ISSUE,OR DON'T CARE TOO. BUT TO THERE DEF FENCE IT ONLY HAPPENS EVER SO OFTEN.
JEEP LOSES POWER AND SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING IN CITY AND ON THE HIGHWAY AT RANDOM SPEEDS. ALSO WILL SHUT DOWN WHILE STATIONARY. CAUSES LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON. THE ONLY WAY TO RESTART IS TO FULLY PLACE IN PARK AND COMPLETELY REMOVE THE KEY. VIOLENT SHUT DOWN AND TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. I HAVE HAD THE ASD RELAY REPLACED AND WIRING CHECKED WITH NO FIX. VERY DANGEROUS WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR.

I HAD TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSOR REPLACED 2 1/2 WEEKS AGO IT SEEMS TO WENT OUT ALREADY TRUCK WON'T GO OVER 30 MPH AND CAR JERKS WHILE TRYING TO REACH IT THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AS I WAS ALMOST KILLED TRYING TO GET OFF THE PROBLEM EXISTED BEFORE REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSOR THEN A FEW WEEKS AFTER IT WAS REPLACED I OWN A USED VEHICLE I'M NOT SURE MY VEHICLE RECEIVED ANY SAFETY RECALL PROCEDURES BUT IT NEEDS TO
OUR 2007 JEEP COMMANDER HAS HAD A RECURRING ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR WHILE IN OPERATION WHETHER IN MOTION OR STATIONARY, VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF RANDOMLY. WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, IT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN. THE RANDOM VEHICLE SHUTDOWNS TAKE PLACE IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND REGARDLESS OF UPHILL OR DOWNHILL DRIVING. BROUGHT THE JEEP COMMANDER TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AS PART OF A RECALL. THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AT ALL AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIGURE OUT CAUSES FOR RANDOM STALLING EVEN WHEN THE COMMANDER FAILED DURING TESTING WITH TECHNICIANS. I REPLACED VIRTUALLY EVERY SENSOR I COULD IMAGINE INCLUDING, THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND IDLE AIR CONTROL SENSOR, EGR, MAP SENSOR, AIR INTAKE SENSOR AND THE PCM. NO LUCK, WE HAVE THE SAME RANDOM STALLING AND THE PROCEDURE IS, RESTART THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL FOR RECOVERY WHILE IN MOTION. THE RESTART DOES NOT FAIL, BUT THE RANDOM STALLING CONTINUES SOMETIMES FIVE OR SIX TIMES ON A 100 MILE TRIP. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND CAN GET SOMEONE OR THEIR FAMILY KILLED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER 4X4. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAITED APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (ZIMMERMAN MOTORS, 1301 MARKET STREET, SUNBURY, PA 17801), BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR THE PAST FOUR MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THREE INDEPENDENT MECHANICS, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
2007 JEEP COMMANDER, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WHEN I CAME TO TURN IT ON, THE IGNITION SWITCH TURNS BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN ON. I HAD A RECALL LETTER ABOUT THIS ISSUE A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND HAD IT REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, IT SEEMS LIKE THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. PLEASE SOLVE IT, AS THIS CAUSES A LOT OF PROBLEMS AND FRUSTRATION TO CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMERS.
UPON HAVING THE IGNITION SWITCH SAFETY RECALL PERFORMED ON MY JEEP, I AM NOW PUTTING IN THE 5TH STARTER ON MY JEEP. SINCE THIS RECALL HAS BEEN DONE, I'M REPLACING STARTERS AS FREQUENTLY AS I AM DOING OILCHANGES
INTERMITTENT STARTING ISSUE. THE JEEP WILL DRIVE FINE BUT ONCE YOU TURN IT OFF IT IS A COIN TOSS WHETHER IT WILL START AGAIN. I HAVE FOUND THAT IF YOU CRAWL UNDERNEATH THE JEEP AND PUSH IN ON THE YELLOW WIRE CONNECTED TO THE STARTER, IT WILL IMMEDIATELY START. IT IS OBVIOUSLY A POORLY DESIGNED CONNECTOR, AS IT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT WEATHER PROOF BUT IT IS IN AN AREA THAT NEEDS TO BE WATER TIGHT. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE ONLINE, BUT WHEN YOU CALL THE DEALERSHIPS THEY TELL YOU THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
OUR CAR WON'T START
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WILL START TO HARD IDLE AND THEN SOMETIMES SHUT OFF AT RED LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS ALSO ONE DRIVING IT ALL THE SUDDEN SHUT OFF AND I'LL LOSE ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HAVE THE PULL THE E BREAK JUST TO STOP THE VEHICLE I'VE TAKEN IT TO AN AUTHORIZED JEEP DEALER OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS TO TRY AND FIX THE PROBLEM AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE FIND ANYTHING BUT I'M NOT THE ONLY 1 WITH THESE COMPLAINTS THERE ARE 1000'S OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS.
VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF WHEN STALLING OR AT A STOP DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET WITH VEHICLES BEHIND ME. IDLEING HIGH WHEN TURNING ON OR DRIVING. JUST HAD SOME THING FIXED AND ISSUE STILL NOT RESOLVED SEEMS TO BE ECM/PCM POSSIBLY. SOME SORT OF WATER ENTRANCE UNSURE WHERE FROM HAD WINDSHIELD REINSTALLED AND I STILL GET PUDDLES ON MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER FEET. BACK SET BELTS KEEP BRAKING WAS TOLD THIS IS A DEFECT WHEN SEATS ARE LAYED DOWN SEAT BUCKLES BREAK AND NEED TO BE REPLACED WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY CHILDREN SINCE I HAVE 4 AND NEED THESE TO BE FUNCTIONAL THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES AND AM NOW TOLD IT'S A DEFECT.
THE SKID PLATE BELOW THE GAS TANK COMPLETELY RUSTED AWAY. THE SKID PLATE IS THE ONLY THING HOLDING THE GAS TANK SECURE TO THE JEEP. THERE ARE NO OTHER RETAINING STRAPS. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM BEFORE THE GAS TANK WAS ABLE TO DROP AND SECURED IT WITH RUBBER STRAPS UNTIL I COULD GET IT REPAIRED. THE JEEP COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. A FULL TANK OF GAS COULD HAVE CAUSED THE TANK TO DROP THROUGH THE RUSTED SKID PLATE. THE JEEP ALSO HAS SKID PLATES BELOW THE FRONT AND MID DRIVE COMPONENTS. THEY HAVE NOT RUSTED AT ALL. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE JEEP ANYWHERE ELSE. I HAVE PHOTOS OF THE RUSTED COMPONENT WHILE IN PLACE AND AFTER IT WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. I CHECKED WITH MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND THEY WERE UNAWARE OF A PROBLEM.
I DROVE TO A GAS STATION ABOUT 5 MILES FROM MY HOME TO FUEL UP. AFTER FUELING UP, I TRIED TO START THE ENGINE AND IT RAN ROUGH FOR LESS THAN A SECOND AND THEN SHUT OFF. I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN AND IT RAN BUT HAD A LOUD KNOCK SO I IMMEDIATELY SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. I TOWED IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO SAID I HAD A DROPPED VALVE SEAT AND WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. THE ODOMETER WAS AT 106,000 MILES WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
IT KEEPS SHUTTING OFF AND ALMOST CAUSED ME AN ACCIDENT WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES. AND AT TIMES SEEM TO STEAR ALL OVER THE ROAD WHEN ON A HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BEFORE THE VEHICLE SEIZED. THE CONTACT WAITED AN HOUR BEFORE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND TIME, THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNKNOWN SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED CHAMPION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 435 E PASS RD, GULFPORT, MS 39507, (228) 896-1515) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR ONE MONTH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,507. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON A TURNPIKE THE ENGINE AND ALL POWER IMMEDIATELY AND INSTANTLY SHUT OFF. VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 110,300 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. QUITE A SCARY CIRCUMSTANCE. AS I WAS PULLING OFF THE MAIN FREEWAY TO THE SHOULDER, I TURNED THE IGNITION TO START AND THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY STARTED, SEEMED TO RUN FINE, AND I PROCEEDED ON AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. NO ERROR OR WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON THE DASH. 5.7L HEMI ENGINE. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A VERY BAD ACCIDENT.
I WAS DRIVING ON PUBLIC STREET AN THE GAS PEDAL STUCK THE JEEP DIED I TURNED IT BACK ON WHEN I TOOK MY BOOT OFF THE BREAK THE JEEP EXCELLED BEFORE I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL THEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE PEDAL AND IT EXCELLED REALLY FAST AND GOT STUCK THEN DIED. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN IT EXCELS BY ITS SELF IT GOES REALLY FAST IF YOU DON'T HAVE A GOOD GRIP ON THE STRING WHEEL IT WILL GET OUT OF CONTROL.
THE SUNROOF DRAINAGE IS SIGNIFICANT DURING ANY LOCAL RAIN SOAKING THE FLOOR BOARDS AND CREATING A MOLDY CARPET. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE AUTO IS PARKED AND STATIONARY (IN OUR DRIVEWAY).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 (NA) JEEP COMMANDER 4X4. WHILE DRIVING UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 91,000.
FINAL DRIVE CONTROL MODULE (FDCM). VEHICLE HAD N23 AND P73 RECALLS COMPLETED. SOMETIME LATER, LOST 4WD LOW. RETURNED TO DEALER FOR RE FLASH PER FCA RECALL FOR LIFE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THEY CANNOT ACCESS FDCM DUE TO A SHORT; PART NEEDS REPLACED. CALLED FCA MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY WILL NOT COVER AS ITS HARDWARE AS OPPOSED TO SOFTWARE RECALL. THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES, IN MY RESEARCH, WHERE THEIR RECALL CAUSES THE LOSS OF 4WD LOW. FCA KNOWS THEIR "FIX" WAS FOR A HARDWARE ISSUE AND THEY FAIL TO COVER IT. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE JEEP ON 11-26-17 AND SHE HAD THE HEATER ON. SHE FELT HER RIGHT LEG GETTING REALLY HOT DOWN BY THE GAS PEDDLE. WHEN SHE GOT HOME SHE PULLED UP HER PANTS LEG AND SHE SAW THAT HER LEG HAD A BAD BLISTER ON IT. SHE DID NOT HAVE THIS BEFORE SHE DROVE THE CAR. THE HEAT FROM THE FLOOR VENT WAS ON HER SIDE BURNED HER LEG THROUGH HER CLOTHING. SEE PICTURES. I MEASURED THE TEMPERATURE COMING OUT OF THAT VENT WITH THE HEATER RUNNING AND IT IS 156.9F SEE PICUTRE
I HAVE OWN THIS CAR FOR 5 YEARS AND IT DID SHUT DOWN ON ME DUE TO I DID HIT THE INGESTION SWITCH WITH MY KNEE AS WE WERE GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. A COUPLE YEARS GO AFTER THAT WITH NO ISSUE. NOW MY 17 YEAR OLD GIRL DRIVES IT NOW WITH NO ISSUE. GOT RECALL LITTLER IGNITION SWITCH REPLACEMENT. GOT SWITCH REPLACED AND ONE FOR A RE-FLASH ON THE POWER TRAIN. NOW AFTER THAT IT HAS STALLED OUT ON MY DAUGHTER 2 TIMES A MOUTH APART WHEN STOP TO MAKE A TURN GOING TO SCHOOL. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A FAULTY FRONT CONTROL MODULE AND ONLY GOING OFF OF STORED CODES B211E & B211A AND DON'T KNOW HOW MANY COUNTS OR HOW OLD THEY ARE. THE SERVICE WRITER COULD NOT TELL ME THAT IS A FIX AND THE TECH SAID THAT IS WHAT IT NEED . I TOOK THE CAR HOME AND I CAN NOT FIND THESE CODES ANYWHERE ONLINE. I DID FIND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME THING AND THE FCM HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH MANY OTHER SENSORS AND THEY STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. SO THAT MY HAVE SAVED ME OVER $500 THAT MAY OR MAY NOT FIX IT.. I THE PARENT AM DRIVING THE CAR NOW TILL I CAN THIS FIGURED OUT. IF THERE ARE UPDATED RESOLVING THIS ISSUE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM PLEASE ADVISE. DON'T WHAT TO JUST THROW AWAY MONEY ON PARTS THAT IS NOT ON ME BUT MORE OF A SAFETY ISSUE ON THE JEEP COMPANY END THAT NEEDS TO FIX THIS. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
INSTRUMENTS LIGHTS OFF AND ON(BATTERY, CHECK ENGINE, AIR BAGS, BREAKS, ETC), TRANSMISSION OVERHEAT INFORMATION LIGHT, VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING OR WON'T START OR LOOSE POWER,COMPUTER TELLS MECHANICS A NEW MODULE NEEDED, BUT NEW MODULE DO NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. HAD TRANSMISSION SERVICES, AND MECHANIC CHECK OUT, BUT NOTHING WORKED.
WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLS OUT, OBVIOUSLY RESULTING IN A LOSS OF POWER STEERING & BRAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED 50+/- TIMES OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS OF MY OWNERSHIP. THE PROBLEM HAS INTENSIFIED OVER THE LAST 2 WEEKS, BUT WOULD ALWAYS RE START AFTER SHIFTING INTO PARK. LAST NIGHT (10/8/2017) IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME WHILE MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AS I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT START & I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED. THROUGH ON-LINE RESEARCH, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE JEEP COMMANDER (4.7L) DATING BACK TO WHEN THE VEHICLES WERE NEW. THE FIX FOR THE PROBLEM VARIES GREATLY. GIVEN THE TIMELINE FOR THIS PROBLEM, ITS OBVIOUS THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT DAIMLER CHRYSLER (NOW FIAT CHRYSLER USA) IS AWARE OF & MAKES NO ATTEMPT AT A SOLUTION.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND THE ENGINE DOWN SHIFTED HARD AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER, TURNED MY VEHICLE OFF, TURNED MY VEHICLE BACK ON, AND IT DROVE JUST FINE. I WENT TO GET THE ENGINE LIGHT CHECKED AND THE CODE THAT CAME BACK WAS THE MAP SENSOR. I JUST REPLACED THE MAP SENSOR TWO MONTHS PRIOR.

LIKE COUNTLESS OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE FORM YEARS 2006-2007, THE "TRANSMISSION OVER TEMPERATURE" LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR YEARS. I'VE SPEND OVER $1500 ON REPAIR FOR ALL THINGS SURROUNDING THE TRANSMISSION, ONLY FOR THE LIGHT TO CONTINUE TO COME ON. SOME PEOPLE HAVE EVEN NOTED THAT THEY WERE STRANDED FOR HOURS DUE TO THIS - IT'S OBVIOUSLY NOT JUST ONE PERSON'S EXPERIENCE WITH THE CAR, AND A QUICK GLANCE ONLINE WILL SHOW THE DEPTHS OF ISSUES PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE LIGHT ON THIS VEHICLE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE DOWN SHIFTED HARD AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER TURNED MY VEHICLE OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT STARTED AND DROVE JUST FINE.
TWO SEAT BELT BUCKLES IN THE BACK SEAT ARE BROKEN. THERE SHOULD BE TWO RED PLASTIC GUIDES THAT GUIDE THE LATCH PLATE INTO THE BUCKLE AND ONE GUIDE IS MISSING ON BOTH OUTER SEATING POSITIONS IN THE BACK SEAT. I CAN SEND PICTURES IF NEEDED. MY DAUGHTER HAS THE SAME VEHICLE AND IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. I WILL BE REPORTING HERS UNDER HER VIN NUMBER.
THERE WAS A VALVE SEAT THAT FELL OUT OF THE HEAD WHICH CAUSED MAJOR INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR. THIS MOTOR ONLY HAD 120K MILES ON IT AND DID NOT HAVE ANY OTHER ISSUES. WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES, SHUT OFF AND THEN WHEN IT WAS STARTED AGAIN IT HAD THE ISSUE.
MY FRONT DIFFERENTIAL IS BROKEN AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT BROKE. IT COULD POTENTIALLY BE AS SIMPLE AS WEAR AND TEAR ON THE VEHICLE, AS IT IS 10 YEARS OLD. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CAN RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL AND/OR A CRASH.
I WAS DRIVING AT A STEADY PACE ON THE FREEWAY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AS WELL AS THE BRAKES. I TURNED OFF MY VEHICLE, RESTARTED IT, AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE WITH NO PROBLEMS AFTERWARDS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY RPMS DROPPED TO ZERO. I PULLED OVER, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND THE ABILITY TO BRAKE WENT OUT. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON AND THEN IT WAS FINE, HOWEVER, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. THERE WERE NO CODES WHEN I WENT TO A MECHANIC FIVE MINUTES AFTER THE INCIDENT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.
MY JEEP IS LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND WHEN I TAKE IT TO BE LOOKED AT, I CAN NEVER GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER. I CONTINUE BEING TOLD IT'S TRANSMISSION ISSUE (TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER, FLUID, LINES). MY CAR SLIGHTLY JERKS INTO GET WHEN SHIFTING FROM PART TO ANOTHER GEAR, AND THE PARKING ASSIST MESSAGE FLASHES ON. AFTER READING ALL THE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE IT SEEMS THE ISSUE MAY BE WITH THE SHIFT MODULE. WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS IT WOULD BE NICE IF THIS COULD BE A RECALL AND CORRECTED.
VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON FREEWAY DUE TO RECALL CAUSING ANXIETY, FEAR OF LIFE AND POTENTIAL ACCIDENT ON MAJOR HIGHWAY. THE IGNITION SWITCH ON YOUR VEHICLE MAY EXPERIENCE AN UNINTENDED CHANGE IN IGNITION SWITCH POSITION WHILE DRIVING. THIS MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, POWER STEERING ASSIST, POWER BRAKE ASSIST OR DISABLE THE AIRBAG FUNCTION. DISABLING ONE OR MORE OF THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY FEATURES COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF VEHICLE OCCUPANT INJURY DURING A CRASH AND/OR CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING
SEATBELTS SOMETIMES DO NOT STAY BUCKLED IN THE BUCKLE WITHOUT FORCE. SEATBELTS GET STUCK ON THE ONES THAT DO BUCKLE WHEN PARKED OR ON. TWO MIDDLE ROW SEATBELTS FELL COMPLETELY OFF. ONE THIRD ROW SEATBELT DOES NOT BUCKLE AT ALL.ONE 3RD ROW SEATBELT GETS STUCK ON A DAILY BASIS IN THE BUCKLE WITH THE VEHICLE PARKED OR NOT PARKED AND THE BELT ALWAYS GETS STUCK IN THE BOOSTER SEATS WE HAVE TO COMPLETELY REMOVE THE BOOSTER SEATS EVERYTIME WE NEED TO REBUCKLE THE SEATS. THE ACTUAL BUCKLES FALL APART EASILY.
