Upon driving on the highway the engine begins to make a hissing sound . Then the the car begins to feel like its slowly braking. From there It slowly loses power . The accelerator does nothing. This happened when my son I his [XXX] was drive me to airport through [XXX] mountains. Had to pull over many times eventually getting and Uber from gas station to make flight. dashboard had check engine light on. transaxle indicator light turned on when i was driving about 65 mph on the freeway and slowed down and wouldn’t accelerate. The large commercial truck behind me was unable to stop on time that it almost hit us behind. There was a construction on my right lane and cars on my left lane. it took me some seconds to reach the end of construction site in my right lane. A second or two more not changing lane to my right side would have hit me and my children. All the truck driver was able to do was pressed on the horn to make me aware that he is too close behind me. Changed of speed in a freeway that fast could have killed me and my kids. i have not been able to drive in the Freeway with this car and even if i get it fixed, I still won’t feel safe to drive it. The car runs fine when the transaxle light doesn’t come on. certain movement, light turns on and off.
The vehicle has a problem that it will stall out after filling up with gas. The timing of the stall out is such that within a minute or two of leaving the gas station and pulling into traffic, the vehicle will buck and the motor will shut off. when this happens, the vehicle also loses power steering and brakes. This creates an INCREDIBLY dangerous situation as the driver essentially has no control any longer. It is a consistent, repeatable problem that occurs every time the vehicle is filled with gas.

Every time I fill up my gas tank the car will stall and shut down in the middle of the road. This is extremely dangerous as I need to put my car in park to restart it.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was a clunking noise present while making right and left turns. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the subframe of the vehicle was faulty due to severe rust and corrosion and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who confirmed the diagnoses. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated the vehicle was serviced in 2014 under a Manufacturers Service Campaign. No further information was available. The failure mileage was 70,000.
The frame Infront where the motor and steering attach rotted completely threw, separated at the weld. It is a safety hazard where steering is affected. The dash lights for the traction, abs, and even the cruise control are on and those items are no longer functional. This car was purchased in 2017, Holiday automotive in Fondulac, Wi with this condition apparent. The mechanic who changed my oil reported it to me in the spring of 2018. And as of this spring the car is undrivable as it is broken. If this were to break while someone were driving it, an accident would happen.

Cvt transmission slips cause car to stumble in pulling out from stop when turning front wheels feel as if skipping n or not turning does this until transmission shifts then goes away. If cut transition control it does drive little better ti transmission shifts... .had 2shop look at jeep..both stated cvt transmislipping / failing ... Less then 150000 miles on vehicle Transmission has been inspected n fluid checked on several occasions fluid is never low
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, an abnormal clanking sound was coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the rear strut assembly was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000. The VIN was not available.
While driving about 40mph the car violently changed lanes with no warning. Luckily no cars were near and i was able to bring the car back under control. I have experienced loose steering before but never to this extreme. I am scared to drive car fearing for safety of myself and passengers. I have read up about these cars and all the problems they have of which I have experienced quite a few myself. I was told the car needed extensive repair to the front end and that there was extensive corrosion to many parts on the under carriage.
DRIVING ALONG AT NORMAL SPEED, ROUGHLY 30MPH, AND CAR TOOK OFF AND ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AT A HIGH SPEED RATE, UNSURE HOW FAST IT ACCELERATED TO.. FLEW ACROSS AN INTERSECTION WITH AN INCLINE. JUMPED THE HILL DUKES IF HAZARD STYLE. CAME DOWN, BUSTED TIRE, RIM AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW, MIRROR AND SPRING AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE. I WAS ON A GRAVEL COUNTRY ROAD. POTHOLES BUT OTHERWISE GOOD TRAVEL CONDITIONS. I DON'T HAVE ANY PHOTOS NOW BUT CAN GET THEM IF NEEDED. VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN
EVERY TIME I FILL MY JEEP UP WITH GAS NOT EVEN 5 SECS AFTER I LEAVE THE ENGINE TURNS OFF. NOW THE CHECK ENGINE HAS POPPED UP ON MY DASHBOARD. I RAN A CODE READER AND IT FOUND CODE P0420.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FORREST AUTO REPAIR (600 MAIN ST, WILMINGTON, MA 01887, (978) 658-8171) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUBFRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
MY 2007 JEEP COMPASS WAS JUST SITTING IN THE YARD NOT BEING DRIVEN WAS NOT HOT AND IT JUST CAUGHT ON FIRE BY ITSELF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO COME AND ASSIST WITH PUT IN THE FIRE OUT THE FIRE CHIEF STATED FROM HIS INVESTIGATION THAT IT WAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM FROM THE LIGHTS AND AS I SAID THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEING OPERATED AND THE LIGHTS WAS NOT ON
ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING LOST COMPLETE ELECTRICAL POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE ESSENTIALLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND AT A LIGHT. I HAVE TO GET RID OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT PRESENTS SAFETY ISSUES.
THE HOLE FRAME IS RUSTED AND BROKE UP FRONT. BALL JOINTS ARE POPPING AND NOT BAD. THE SWAY BARS ARE POPPING AND NOT BAD. READING BRAKES BUT ARE GOOD. BUT ALL IN ALL FRAME BAD RUSTED OUT AND BUSTED.
BLOOD HAS BEEN DRAWN, AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF SKIN WAS REMOVED. THE UPPER METAL LATCH FOR THE GLOVE BOX HAS A KNIFE EDGE. IT IS APPARENT THAT THERE WAS NO ATTEMPT TO FILE THE EDGE DULL BEFORE IT WAS PAINTED OVER. THIS IS LOCATED IN AN AREA WHERE HANDS ARE SUPPOSED TO REACH IN. A COMPETENT SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH A METAL FILE AND A PAINT PEN CAN REMEDY THIS IN ONE MINUTE. I DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO BE SIMILARLY INJURED. PLEASE ENFORCE A RECALL. CVT OVERHEATS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WHEN THE CVT TRANS OIL HEAT LIGHT COMES ON THE CAR RPMS INCREASE AND ACCELERATION IS LOST. IT WAS SCARY LOSING SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR

PURCHASED A 2007 JEEP COMPASS 2ND HAND AND FOUND REAR SUBFRAME AND SUSPENSION PARTS IS SEVERELY RUSTED . THE VEHICLE CLUNKS AND HOPPS WITH EVERY BUMP IN THE ROAD. IF YOU RUN OVER THE REFLECTORS WHILE CHANGING LANES VEHICLE WILL ABRUPTLY JERK IN THE DIRECTION YOU ARE GOING. TOOK IT TO JEEP THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM THAT EXPIRED IN 2017 I DON'T THINK THERE SHOULD BE AN EXPIRATION DATE FOR A SAFETY HAZARD THAT THOUSANDS OF JEEPS AND OR DODGES HAVE THEY TOLD ME THEY CANT HELP ME. *TR
FILL UP WITH GAS, GET A COUPLE BLOCKS DOWN THE ROAD AND VEHICLE STALLS, TRY RESTARTING AND IT HESITATES
WHEN PUTTING FUEL IN THE GAS TANK, THE PUMP KICKS OFF AND GAS SPLASHES OUT LIKE THE TANK IS FULL. WE HAVE TO HOLD THE NOZZLE AND LET IT TRICKLE IN THE GAS FOR QUITE SOMETIME. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW WE HOLD THE GAS NOZZLE OR WHAT ANGLE, IT SIMPLY SHUTS OFF THE PUMP LIKE ITS FULL, AND I'M DEALING WITH SPILT GAS ON ME AND THE GROUND! I CANNOT FILL MY TANK! AFTER SPEAKING WITH A JEEP DEALERSHIP, THEY VERIFIED IT DOES HAPPEN TO THE COMPASSES. WHAT! THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 2012, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM REQUESTING A FULL REFUND FOR GETTING MINE FIXED, FOR SEEMS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE, I NEED GAS AND IT ALAS IT DIDN'T ALLOW FOR A FILL UP OF GAS. *TR
CLICKING NOISE FROM SUSPENSION AREA WHEN DRIVING. VEHICLE ONLY DRIVEN AT SLOWER SPEEDS AS IT'S VEHICLE MY DAUGHTER DRIVES TO SCHOOL. I TOOK TO MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE FRAME IS BADLY RUSTED AND JUST TOUCHING IT TO SHOW ME THE FRAME WAS BREAKING. VEHICLE HAS TO HAVE THE FRAME REPLACED TO SAFELY DRIVE VEHICLE AGAIN. THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN TO A CAR OF THIS AGE.
THE TIPM IS FAILING CAUSED ME TO STALL AT 70MPH ON A HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC DOORS UNLOCKED AND THEN THREW ALL ELECTRICAL CODES
WHILE MOVING , EVERY BUMP OR CRACK IN ROAD CREATED A RATTLE AND THUD AND WOULD VIBRARATE THOUGH STEERING COLUMN. WENT TO REPAIR GARAGE AND WAS SHOWN RUSTED CROSSMEMBER BARELY HOLDING TOGETHER. PLUS SWAY BAR BROKE LOOSE FROM RUSTED AREA
2007 JEEP COMPASS EXPERIENCED SUBFRAME RUST/ROT WITH TOTAL FAILURE AT 76,XXX MILES WHILE BEING OPERATED STRAIGHT ON A STATE HIGHWAY.
FRONT SUB FRAME IS ROTTED RIGHT THROUGH, APPARENTLY A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO DECELERATE AND STALLED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 199,000.
INSPECTION AFTER CLUNKING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE REVEALED SEVERE ROT AND CORROSION OF THE SUBFRAME WITH THE MOUNTING FOR THE ANTI-ROLL BAR COMPLETED BROKEN AWAY FROM THE SUBFRAME. ALSO SEVERE CORROSION AROUND THE LOWER CONTROL ARM MOUNTING APPEARED TO BE CLOSE TO THE FAILURE POINT. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE JEEP DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE 10 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND THAT I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. FOUND FCA INTERNAL WARRANTY DOCUMENT ID-14-02 FOR THE SUBFRAME CORROSION ISSUE DATED 5/19/14 WHICH REFERS TO FCA SERVICE BULLETIN 23-012-14 AND STATES THAT ALL DEALER PERSONNEL ARE TO BE MADE AWARE OF THIS BULLETIN. I HAVE A RECEIPT FOR OTHER REPAIRS FROM AN FCA DEALER DATED 7/28/14, 2 MONTHS AFTER THE WARRANTY BULLETIN DATE AND THERE WAS NO NOTIFICATION GIVEN ABOUT THE INSPECTION MANDATED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND NOTHING NOTED ON THE RECEIPT. THUS THERE WAS NO WAY FOR ME TO KNOW ABOUT THIS WARANTY AND SAFETY ISSUE WHICH I AM NOW TOLD HAS EXPIRED FOR MY VEHICLE. PER DEALER INSTRUCTION, I CALLED FCA CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS ALSO TOLD THE WARRANTY FOR MY VEHICLE HAD EXPIRED AND MY ONLY CHOICE WAS TO PAY FOR REPAIRS MYSELF. IN SCROLLING THROUGH THE COMPLAINTS ALREADY NOTED IN THE NHTSA SITE, I SEE NUMEROUS MENTIONS OF THIS PROBLEM WITH MANY INDICATING COMPLETE SUBFRAME AND SUSPENSION FAILURE WITH INJURY ONLY BEING PREVENTED BY THE SLOW OPERATING SPEED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THIS PROBLEM IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WHERE IMPROPER MATERIALS AND/OR COATINGS WERE USED BY FCA ON THESE COMPONENTS. FOR REFERENCE MY 1998 DODGE NEON HAS NO SUCH PROBLEM AFTER 21 YEARS AS IT USED GALVANIZED COATING ON THIS CRITICAL COMPONENT. FCA NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND PAY ALL ASSOCIATED COSTS FOR THIS SAFETY RELATED ISSUE AND BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES RESULTING FROM THESE FAILURES.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IT STARTED PULLING TO THE LEFT AND STEERING WHEEL WAS SHAKING. THERE WAS ALSO A POUND SQUEALING NOISE. PULLED VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED THE DRIVER SIDE FRON TIRE WAS LEANING INWARDS. LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE SUB FRAME HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND BROKE.
THIS JEEP COMPASS WAS PURCHASED FOR OUR COLLEGE AGE DAUGHTER IN MARCH 2019, TODAY WHILE DRIVING, HER REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL MADE A LOUD NOISE THEN FELT LIKE IT 'DROPPED' AND UPON GETTING STOPPED, SHE DIDN'T WRECK THANK GOD, AS SHE WAS PULLING INTO OUR DRIVE. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT HER REAR CROSSMEMBER HAD RUSTED INTO. I SEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THERE HAD AT ONE TIME BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR PART DUE TO EXCESSIVE RUST FROM THE SALT BELT STATES. WE ARE IN KY BUT WHEN WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT WAS TITLED IN MICHIGAN, WHICH IS MOST DEFINITELY IN THAT SALT BELT. I AM NOT SURE WHY THIS RECALL WAS NOT COMPLETED BY THE FORMER OWNER BUT I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE CORRECTED NO MATTER THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED MY DAUGHTER TO BE IN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WE HAD NO INFORMATION ABOUT ANY RECALL THAT HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN ISSUED.
TAKATA RECALL IT CUT OFF ON ME AT THE LIGHT IN TRAFFIC ANDIT JERKS WHEN IT PULL I GOT EVERYTHING FIXED SO THEY TOLD ME TO GET IT CHECKED I DID ITS THE COMPUTER MALFUNCTION
BADLY RUSTED ENGINE CRADLE AND OIL PAN PREMATURELY! FIAT CHRYSLER WOULD NOT HELP REPLACE EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THE PROBLEM EXISTS. NO ACCIDENTS YET BUT REMAINS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE FAILED THE STATE INSPECTION DUE TO SEVERE RUST TO THE SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED NOR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
IN MY FAMILY WE OWN A 2007 JEEP COMPASS WHICH WE ARE PLEASED TO OWN. HOWEVER, LAST YEAR (2018) WE FOUND THAT IT WAS SPITTING GASOLINE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR AFTER WE FINISHED PUMPING IT. IT LOOKED LIKE THE CAR WAS PUMPING THE GAS BACK TO US WITHOUT WE EVEN TURNING THE CAR ON. AT THE BEGINNING I COULD NOT PUMP ENOUGH GASOLINE INTO THE FUEL TANK. IT STOPPED UNEXPECTEDLY AND SPIT THE FUEL OUT, WITH ENOUGH FORCE AND QUANTITY TO FILL THE CAP COMPARTMENT AND NOTABLY REACHING THE FLOOR. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THREE FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY CHANGED A COUPLE OF PARTS AND PARTIALLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM IN FEBRUARY 2019. PARTIALLY BECAUSE WHEN WE FILLED THE TANK FULL, IT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO TURN OFF WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF FUELING. HOWEVER, IN JUNE 2019, WE FOUND THAT THE CAR WAS AGAIN SPITTING GAS OUT WHEN WE FILL THE TANK TO FULL. AGAIN, WITH ENOUGH FORCE AND QUANTITY TO FILL THE CAP COMPARTMENT AND NOTABLY REACHING THE FLOOR. THEREFORE, WE DECIDED TO MAKE THIS SAFETY COMPLAIN BECAUSE NOT ONLY MY FAMILY IS IN HIGH DANGER BUT ALSO EVERY PERSON AT A GAS STATION WHERE WE FILL WITH GASOLINE. MOREOVER, IT IS CONCERNING THAT A CAR DEVELOPS THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM BY ITSELF AND JEEP DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE A DEFINED SOLUTION FOR THIS MATTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS 4X4. WHILE SERVICING HIS WIFE'S VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED LOTS OF RUST AND HOLES ON THE SUBFRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK WITH FUEL, THE JEEP WILL BEGIN TO STUTTER AND THE ENGINE WILL DIE. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS IMMEDIATELY BUT OTHER TIMES IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES AND WILL HAPPEN WHILE IN TRAFFIC. AFTER THE INTIAL STUTTERING AND DYING, THE CAR RUNS FINE AFTER RESTARTING BUT THIS HAPPENS WITH EVERY FUEL FILL-UP.
CAR STALLS A FEW TIMES AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK. THEN IT RUNS FINE. HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER YOU LEAVE GAS STATION, IN MOTION OR AT IDLE .

THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FRONT AND REAR CROSS MEMBERS WERE RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CROSS MEMBER WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANDERSON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (5711 E STATE ST, ROCKFORD, IL 61108, (815) 229-2000) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMPASS 4WD. THE REAR SUBFRAME ON THE DRIVERSIDE IS ROTTEN OUT AND MAKING THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL BEND. I HAVE A 4 YEAR THAT GOES IN MY CAR, AND I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE. JEEP WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RUST ROT, AND CHOOSE NOT TO DO ANYTHING
SEVERE CORROSION TO THE FRAME AND SUB FRAME OF THE JEEP COMPASS. THE FRONT SUB FRAME IS SEPARATING FROM THE FRAME AND NOW THE VEHICLE IS UNSTABLE AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THERE SHOULD NOT BE THIS MUCH CORROSION ON A 2007 VEHICLE OF ANY KIND.
WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS YOU CAN CLEARLY HEAR THE SUSPENSION OR STRUTS. YOU CAN HEAR THEM ALSO WHILE JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SOMETIMES IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BOLTS ARE GONNA COME OUT. IT ALSO HAVE SOME KIND OF CREAKY NOISE SOMETIMES AS WELL
LEAKS WATER THROUGH DOME LIGHT WHILE DRIVING. WATER POOLS IN THE DOME LIGHT AND AFTER HEAVY RAINS I FIND 2 INCH PUDDLES OF WATER ON MY PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR. THIS IS NOT ONLY A FIRE HAZARD AS IT'S COMING THROUGH AN ELECTRIC PORT DRIPPING ON MY RADIO BUT ALSO JUST A HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AND SURPRISED WITH WATER POURING OUT OF THE LIGHT. HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY GETTING WORSE FOR YEARS NOW, STARTED WITH THE OCCASIONAL DRIP.
AFTER FILLING UP MY 07 JEEP COMPASS NOT EVEN AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT THE JEEP STARTED STUTTERING AND SHUT OFF .. IT HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL I GOT HOME. WHILE ACCELERATING IT WOULD ACT LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL . AND WHILE COMING TO A SHOP IT WOULD CUT OFF. I WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE OF THIS . AND I HAD MY DISABLED DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS & SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE .

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR CONTROL ARMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 187,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ALERTED HIM TO CHECK THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THE CONTACT PLACED AIR IN THE TIRE. WHILE DRIVING FROM THE FUEL STATION AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE CROSS MEMBER FRACTURED INTO THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NEAR A REPAIR FACILITY AND THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE CROSS MEMBER HAD EXTENSIVE RUST TO THE POINT THAT IT FRACTURED INTO THE FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A SECOND FACILITY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN MANUFACTURER EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGN NUMBER: X69 (FRONT AND REAR CROSS MEMBER CORROSION) AND TSB NUMBER: 23012-14. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL SUDDENLY TILTED INWARD SO WHEN WAS RUBBING WHEEL WELL. GOT VEHICLE HOME LESS THAN 1 MILE AWAY AND SAW CROSS MEMBER RUSTED COMPLETELY ALLOWING UPPER CONTROL ARM TO MOVE.
THE FRONT SUB-FRAME (DRIVERS SIDE) OF MY DAUGHTERS CAR BROKE. THANKFULLY SHE WAS JUST PULLING UP TO A STOP LIGHT LEAVING A COLLEGE CAMPUS WHEN IT BROKE AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY OR MOVING FAST. THE PIECE JUST SNAPPED. I SEE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH SOME OF THE 2007 COMPASS WHERE THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY BUT IT DOES NOT APPLY TO OUR VIN NUMBER FOR SOME REASON. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON PAID $800 DOLLARS TO RESOLVE ISSUES, I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. A FEW SENSORS(OIL, HEATING ETC) WERE REPLACED, O2 SENSORS WERE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THAT IT COULD BE THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER SYSTEM. THIS IS CREATING A VERY SERIOUS HEADACHE PROBLEM. I TRIED WITH NUMEROUS CAR REPAIR SHOPS AND THEY DON'T SEEM TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. THEY CHECK THE CODES AND THEIR RESPONSE IS "IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS WHATS WRONG WITH IT, BUT THERE IS NO WARRANTY, THAT WE CAN RESOLVE THE ISSUES. ISSUES ARE HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION
