I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. THE REAR HEADRESTS ARE NOT REMOVABLE AND IF I INSTALL MY CHILD FORWARD FACING CAR SEAT IT LEAVES A GAP IN BETWEEN THE HEADREST AND SEAT. THIS COMPROMISES CHILDREN'S SAFETY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT AT AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND MOST JEEPS HAVE THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. *TR
THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT KEEPS UNLATCHING BY ITSELF. PROBLEM HAS BEEN PRESENTED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE FOUND NO FAULT. KEEPS GETTING WORSE WILL BE TAKING IT TO ANOTHER DEALER TOMORROW, THIS HAPPENS EVERY OTHER TIME I BUCKLE MY SEAT BELT IN. *TR
MY AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT STARTED COMING OFF AND ON AS I WAS DRIVING IN DECEMBER OF 2008. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED BY THE DEALER. LIKE CLOCKWORK IN THE WINTER OF 2009 AND CONTINUING UNTIL TODAY THE LIGHT IS COMING OFF AND ON CONSTANTLY (EVERY 3-10 MILES). THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON TO IT, I CAN BE ACCELERATING, DECELERATING, AT A COMPLETE STOP ETC. BESIDES BEING ANNOYING I HAVE READ THAT OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR JEEPS. I HAVE ASKED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE TO REPLACE THE PART AT NO COST TO ME SINCE I AM NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO THAT, AND I AM UNABLE TO AFFORD THE $300+ PART THEY NEED TO "FIX" THIS PROBLEM ONCE AGAIN.
2007 JEEP COMPASS. CONSUMER STATES SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED, THE BRAKES WERE RIGID AND DIFFICULT TO OPERATE, THE TACHOMETER JUMPED TO 5000 RPMS AND A TIMES, IT FELT AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN SECOND GEAR. *JB
EXCESSIVE PLAY IN FRONT END. TIERODS WERE REPLACED AT 50,000 KM THEY WERE SEVERELY WORN. *TR
I OWN A 2007 JEEP COMPASS THAT WAS PURCHASED NEW IN JUNE OF 2006. BEGINNING IN MAY OF THIS YEAR THE CAR BEGAN SUFFERING BOTH LOW AND HIGH SPEED ENGINE STALLS, WHERE THE WARNING 'BELL' SOUNDS, ALL OF THE DASH WARNING LIGHTS COME ON, AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. THIS CAR IS DRIVEN BY MY COLLEGE AGE DAUGHTER AND REPRESENTS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD TO BOTH HER AND THOSE AROUND HER. MOST RECENTLY THIS CONDITION OCCURRED ON I-85 SOUTH OF ATLANTA IN A MAJOR CONSTRUCTION ZONE WHILE SHE WAS GOING 60 MILES AN HOUR. TWO WEEKS AGO THE OPELIKA JEEP DEALERSHIP DID THE 'SOFTWARE UPGRADE' RECOMMENDED BY A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN, BUT OBVIOUSLY IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. AT THE TIME THE DEALER COULD NOT 'RECREATE' THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT A DEALERSHIP IN UNION CITY, GA WHERE IT WAS TOWED. IN PAST FAILURES THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER REMAINING TURNED OFF FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. WITH THE LATEST OCCURRENCE THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START AT ALL. IN FACT IT ACTED AS IF THE TRANSMISSION INTERLOCK WAS ENGAGED BECAUSE TURNING THE KEY PRODUCED ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. THIS CAR REPRESENTS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD TO THE DRIVER AND THOSE ON THE ROAD AROUND HER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AND STATED THAT THE FRONT TIE ROD FAILED. THE CONTACT IS CURRENTLY ON A WAITING LIST TO HAVE THIS FAILURE REPAIRED, BUT THE PART WILL BE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL JULY OF 2008. SHE STATED THAT IF THE TIE RODS FAIL, THE VEHICLE COULD FLIP OVER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,535.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS 4X4. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED PLASTIC BURNING AND THEN SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. BEFORE SHE COULD STOP THE VEHICLE, IT CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT WAS DESTROYED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS BELIEVED TO BE ELECTRICAL. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 28,000.
CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT IN A CAR SEAT THAT WAS HELD WITH SAFETY SEAT BELT. HE IS 3, ABOUT 30 POUNDS. HE UNLATCHED THE SEAT BELT BUT HAD PUT IT AROUND HIMSELF WHERE HE STILL LOOKED INTACT. WHEN WE STOPPED AND WENT TO GET HIM OUT, HE WAS UNABLE TO GET OUT AS THE SEAT BELT WAS RETRACTING AND GETTING SO TIGHT AROUND HIM HE WAS GETTING SQUEEZED IN HALF. WE TRIED TO PULL THE SEAT BELT TO RELEASE IT BUT IT WOULDN'T RELEASE. WE HAD TO CUT THE SEAT BELT. HE IS FINE NOW BUT COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS. HE IS SCARED OF THE SEAT BELT NOW WHICH COULD BE A GOOD THING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS 4X4. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO PULL TO THE RIGHT AND WANDER OUT OF THE LANE CAUSING DIFFICULTY TO STEER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWO TIMES WHERE THE FRONT STABILIZER SWAY BAR AND RACK AND PINION WERE REPLACED. ALSO, THE TIE ROD WAS REPLACED TWICE. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY INFORMED THAT THE SAME PARTS WHICH WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED HAD FAILED FOR THE THIRD TIME. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE COMMON ISSUES WITH THE MODEL YEAR VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,693.
MY NEW JEEP COMPASS HAS A $120 OPTIONAL FULL SIZE SPARE. THE CAR HAS 18" TIRES ON THE GROUND. THE SPARE IS A 17" TIRE. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO I HAD A FLAT WHEN I CAME OUT OF WORK AT 10:30PM IN SNOW\ICE STORM AND HAD AAA COME AND CHANGE IT. DUE TO POOR ROAD CONDITIONS I HAD TO HAVE THE 4WD ENGAGED ALL THE WAY HOME[33MILES]. THE ESP SYSTEM CONTINUALLY APPLIES THE BRAKE ON THE SMALLER TIRE SINCE THE SYSTEM SENSES IT IS SPINNING FASTER. I THINK THIS IS HAZARDOUS TO VEHICLE CONTROL ON SLIPPERY ROAD CONDITIONS. I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE EQUIPPED WITH AN 18" SPARE. *TR

IT SEEMS AS IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT GOING TO STOP AT TIMES. HE ALSO STATED THAT HIS SEAT BELT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY EITHER. WHEN HE GOES TO PUT IT ON IT WILL CLICK LIKE IT'S ON BUT IT WILL THEN COME UNDONE ON IT'S OWN. THE CONTACT HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BUT THEY TOLD HIM NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 110,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH IN SIXTH GEAR WITH OVERDRIVE ACTIVATED, HE WAS UNABLE TO DOWNSHIFT. AS A RESULT, HE CRASHED INTO A DITCH. I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMPASS 4X4. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING IT I STARTED TO HEAR A THUMPING NOISE IN MY FRONT END WHEN TURNING. I ALSO HEARD A CREAKING NOISE WHENEVER GOING OVER ANY BUMPS OR HITTING ANY POTHOLES. THE NOISE WAS CONSISTENT FOR AWHILE AND THEN WENT AWAY. LAST YEAR I HAD A TIRE BLOW OUT WHILE DRIVING. THE LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT AND UPON LOOKING AT THE TIRE- THERE WAS VERY OBVIOUS UNEVEN TIRE WEAR. I LOOKED AT THE RIGHT TIRE AND IT LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE THE LEFT TIRE SO WE QUICKLY HAD BOTH FRONT TIRES REPLACED WITH NEW ONES. FIVE MONTHS LATER MY NEW FRONT TIRES WERE BALD ON THE INSIDE. I HAD TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES AGAIN AND WE HAD AN ALIGNMENT CHECK TO LOOK INTO THE FRONT END. I WAS TOLD MY LEFT BALL JOINT AND RIGHT TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD THE LEFT BALL JOINT DONE. I WAS PLANNING TO HAVE THE TIE ROD DONE WITHIN A MONTH BUT I WAS ADVISED IT NEEDED TO BE DONE NOW. AFTER HAVING THE BALL JOINT DONE MY STEERING IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO PULL TO THE RIGHT VIOLENTLY. I HAD THE TIE ROD DONE THE NEXT DAY. THIS ALLEVIATED THE PULLING ON THE STEERING WHEEL BUT NOW I CAN FEEL SOMETHING ELSE. THE CAR IS NOT HANDLING RIGHT AND IT MAKES ME VERY UNEASY TO DRIVE IT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ACROSS THE WEB THE SAME PROBLEMS I AM HAVING WITH MY COMPASS ARE BEING EXPERIENCED BY MANY, MANY, MANY PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT THESE VEHICLES. I'M SEEING THAT THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING OF WHAT IS GOING TO BE A LONG LIST OF REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE'S FRONT END. I'M REALLY SHOCKED THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. TIE RODS AND BALL JOINTS ARE VERY DANGEROUS. THEY ARE THE COMPONENTS OF YOUR STEERING AND WHEN THEY MALFUNCTION SOMEONE IS GOING TO CRASH. ON SEPTEMBER 20 2007, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK, I WHEN I CAME TO A STOP, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CHECK OIL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ALSO, I DID NOT HAVE THE A\C ON. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE WITH NO PROBLEM. AND WHILE I MADE A FULL STOP FEW TIMES, I NOTICED THAT THE RPM WAS DROPPING LITTLE BY LITTLE. I CALLED JEEP TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, I WENT ON SEPTEMPER 24,2007 TO THE DEALER TO HAVE MY CAR CHECK. I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING. WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP MY CAR, THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE ONLY THING THAT THEY MENTIONED WAS THAT THE COMPUTER OF THE CAR NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. AFTER I TOOK MY CAR, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE RPM OF THE CAR DROPS AND THE ENGINE SEEMS THAT IT WANTS TO START AND THEN IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL. IT IS A VERY STRANGE BEHAVIOR BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DOING THAT BEFORE. I TRIED TO USE A DIFFERENT GAS BRAND FEW TIMES, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUE TO OCCUR. IT IS NOT VERY OFTEN, BUT RECENTLY IT IS DOING THAT A LITTLE MORE OFTEN. *TR

ON AUGUST 19, 2007, WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. SHE ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE AND THE CLUTCH WAS DOWN, THE VEHICLE FORCED ITSELF TO DRIVE BACKWARDS. AFTERWARDS, THE CLUTCH STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. THE DEALER TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE SLAVE CYLINDER SNAPPED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 400.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE FAILURE BEGAN EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ENGINE RPM'S INCREASED TO 6,000 AND THEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. SHE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE TO THE REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND ANY FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT AND TWO MECHANICS TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE INCREASED TO 6,000 RPM'S AGAIN. THE MECHANICS DOWNLOADED AND REBOOTED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE FAILURE HAS RECURRED ONE WEEK AGO. SHE CALLED DAIMLER CHRYSLER AND THEY INFORMED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER. THE CONTACT IS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THEREFORE IT WAS TOWED AND CURRENTLY REMAINS AT THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 10,300.
2007 JEEP COMPASS CONTINUOUS (AT LEAST 6 TIMES) WATER LEAKING FROM SUN ROOF ...POOR DRAINING....UNCLOGGED DRAINS LINES(DEALER) NOISY THUMPING (SOME KIND OF ROAD NOISE) MANY COMPLAINTS WAS TOLD TIRES ARE NOISY....RETURNED TODAY (5/25/11) NOISE IS MORE EVIDENT AND HAS TO BE MORE SERIOUS THAN NOISY TIRES. DEALER HAS YET TO CORRECT THESE PROBLEMS PERMANENTLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS FWD. ON JUNE 19, 2007, AFTER COMING TO A STOP, THE CONTACT ACCELERATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CHECK OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. SHE WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE VEHICLE. SHE WENT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE CHECKED, BUT THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FINE. THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER LOST ITS PROGRAMMING WHEN SHE STOPPED TO PUT GAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED, AS IF THE AIR BAG WAS NOT WORKING. THE MECHANIC ADVISED HER NOT TO PUT HER PURSE ON THE SEAT BECAUSE IT MAY CAUSE THE AIR BAG SENSOR TO DEPROGRAM ITSELF. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 17,200 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,150.
I HAVE A 2207 JEEP COMPASS. MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT A SPEED OF 40 MILES PER HOUR AND THE AIR CURTAINS ON BOTH SIDE OF THE VEHICLES DEPLOYED ON THEIR OWN. THE CAR STALLED IMMEDIATELY IN THE ROAD. WE TOOK THE JEEP FOR REPAIR AND IT WAS KEPT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 29 DAYS. THEY HAVE RELEASED THE JEEP BACK TO ME, BUT THE JEEP COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHEY IT HAPPENED. THEY ALSO CANNOT TELL ME THAT IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS IS MY SIXTEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS CAR. IF SHE HAD BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE AND THIS HAPPENED SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN RUN OVER BY TRAFFIC AND KILLED. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT JEEP WOULD WANT CONSUMERS TO DRIVE A CAR THAT COULD KILL YOU. *JB
OUR JEEP 2007 COMPASS HAS HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT REMAINING LATCHED. MOST TIMES IT WILL UNLATCH ITSELF WITHIN SECONDS OF THE CLICK SOUND. AND OTHER TIMES, IT DOES UNLATCH WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. WE DID TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE SAME YEAR WE BOUGHT IT, AND THEY TOLD US THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SEATBELT. WE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN THE FOLLOWING YEAR, AND AGAIN, THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, BUT, IS STILL A SAFETY CONCERN FOR US BECAUSE, IF WE WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT, THAT SEATBELT MAY UNLATCH UPON IMPACT. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE # 06V403000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:SWITCH). THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 1,300.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE HESITATED FOR 15 TO 20 SECONDS BEFORE ACCELERATING. AFTER THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE DROVE ROUGHLY AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY UPDATED THE COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER ON SEVEN SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED TWO DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND WAS UNABLE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,362 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,000. UPDATED 09/10/08. *LJ THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE SUSPENSION. THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE REAR STRUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. UPDATED 09/11/08 *JB
THE PAINT ON THE VEHICLE BECOMES COVERED IN TINY BLACK SPECS AND ONCE REMOVED TAKES THE PAINT WITH IT, CAUSING LITTLE RUST SPOTS ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE CONTACT HEARD A RATTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE OUTER DRIVER'S SIDE TIE ROD AND CONTROL ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. ENTIRE SUSPENSION SYSTEM IS NOTHING BUT JUNK. REPLACED TIE ROD ENDS, INNER AND OUTER, BALL JOINTS, SWAY BAR LINKS, STRUTS, HUBS AND AXLE. SOME OF THESE PARTS MORE THAN ONCE. THE TIRE CAME DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO FALLING OFF THE VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 24 HR NOTICE THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. FAILED INSPECTION LAST YEAR FOR TIE ROD END THAT WAS REPLACED PREVIOUS YEAR. CHRYSLER WILL NOT BUDGE ON TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT MY MECHANIC CALLS "JUNK". DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THEY REACT?? *TR
ON THE MORNING OF 02/10/2007 I WAS WAITING IN A LINE OF VEHICLES AT A LOCAL CAR WASH. I HAD NOT ENTERED OR USED THE CAR WASH TO THAT POINT. SUDDENLY, MY REAR WINDOW LITERALLY EXPLODED INTO THOUSANDS OF SMALL PIECES. I CHECKED THE BACK OF MY CAR AND THE PAVEMENT IN THE BACK OF CAR FOR EVIDENCE OF SOMETHING THAT MAY HAVE BEEN THROWN AT MY CAR AND FOUND NOTHING. I BELIEVE THAT THE GLASS WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS AFFECTED BY THE COLD WEATHER. ANYWAYS HAD MY CHILDREN BEEN IN THE BACK SEAT, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE BROKEN GLASS COULD HAVE STRUCK THEM IN THE BACK OF THEIR HEADS. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OVER 30 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 5,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,300.
I HAVE A 2007 JEEP COMPASS WITH 55,000 MILES, THE LOWER BALL JOINTS AND TIE ROD ENDS HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IN MY OPINION AND THE REPAIR SHOPS OPINION THIS IS EXTREMELY PREMATURE FOR REPLACEMENT OF THESE PARTS. THE COST OF REPLACEMENT OF THESE PARTS ARE NOT CHEAP EITHER. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE OR THE SISTER VEHICLE TO THIS, THE JEEP PATRIOT. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH JEEP CUSTOMERS WITH LESS MILES THAN MINE. WHAT REALLY FRUSTRATES ME THE MOST IS THAT CHRYSLER WILL NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. AND KEEP CHARGING $800.00 TO REPAIR THIS PART THAT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND AGAIN! THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE WAS AT THE POINT WHERE THE BALL JOINTS AND TIE ROD ENDS ARE ABOUT READY TO BREAK. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. *TR
WINDSHIELD JUST CRACKED ONE DAY WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON MY 2007 JEEP COMPASS. NOW IT HAS CRACKED SOME MORE AND A SURVEY SAID THAT THE WINDSHIELD WILL CRACK UNDER CERTAIN TYPES OF WEATHER.
JEEP CUSTOMER HAS SEVERAL CONCERNS ABOUT MIRRORS **CC THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, BECAUSE THE REAR HEAD REST OBSTRUCTED HER VIEW. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS SIDE SWIPED BECAUSE SHE WAS UNABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. THE CONSUMER HAD A PREVIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE ABS CONTROL MODULE. *JB
