TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. *TT CONSUMER HAD IT REPAIR. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED THREE RIVERS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (2633 W LIBERTY AVE, PITTSBURGH, PA 15216, (412) 343-1200) AND WAS INFORMED TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,100.
MY CAR WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND STREETS. MY CAR SHUT OFF AT HIGH SPEED, LOW SPEED, SHORT DISTANCE AND LONG DISTANCE. I WAS ADVISED BY A MECHANIC THAT THIS WAS THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR THAT WAS RECALLED ON 2016 JEEP VEHICLES THOUGH MID JULY AND MY CAR IS AUGUST (RECALL S89). I TOOK VEHICLE TO JEEP DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE CAUSE IS THE CRANKSHAFT CENSOR BUT IM BEING CHARGED $350 FOR THIS SAME BAD PART BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I ALMOST DIES ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THIS FAULTY PART. I TOOK MY CAR TO 3 MECHANICS AND WILL OUT OF POCKET $800 BECAUSE THE RECALL DID NOT EXTEND TO MY VEHICLE. ITS WRONG AND EXTREMELY UNSAFE!!!!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND VIBRATED ABNORMALLY PRIOR TO THE STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIGHTS AND HORN OPERATED AS INTENDED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED HOWEVER; THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON FEBRUARY 28, 2019 WHEN I VEERED OFF INTO A DITCH, MY VEHICLE FLEW INTO THE AIR AFTER HITTING A DRIVEWAY, AND FLIPPED AT ABOUT 55 MPH. I WAS DRIVING ON A RURAL FARM TO MARKET ROAD. I WAS DRIVING AND THE ONLY ONE IN THE VEHICLE. MY SEATBELT NEVER LOCKED AS I WRECKED. IT WAS BUCKLED BUT NEVER ENGAGED. I SUBMITTED TO JEEP FOR REVIEW AND THEY DENIED MY CLAIM AND SAID THE SEATBELT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. MY SEATBELT WAS ALL THE WAY STRETCHED OUT AND EVEN FRAYED AT THE TOP WHERE THE LOOP IS. MY L1 INSTANTLY BLEW UP INTO MY SPINAL CORD AND I SUFFERED SEVERE INJURIES.
AS I AM DRIVING THE CAR STALLS. THIS HAPPENS A LOT WHEN I SLOW DOWN THEN PRESS THE GAS AGAIN, ALSO WHEN I TURN. THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY ON THE HIGHWAY AND SIDE STREETS, THIS HAS LEAD TO ALMOST GETTING INTO MULTIPLE CAR ACCIDENTS. BE ADVISED YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO REPORT ONE DATE OF OCCURRENCE, THIS IS A DAILY ISSUE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 2016 COMPASS THAT DESCRIBES THE ISSUE MY CAR IS HAVING TO THE T. IT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VIN NUMBER, BUT I THINK THIS SHOULD BE RE-EVALUATED AS THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING MOSTLY ON HIGHWAY CAR HESITATES LIKE IT WILL STALL OR NOT GETTING ENOUGH GAS. HAD COILS REPLACED BUT AFTER AWHILE DID SAME THING. AFRAID TO DRIVE CAR AS MAY CAUSE ACCIDENT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW MONTHS GOING BACK AND FORTH TO DEALER UNSUCCESSFULLY. NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO BEFORE SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS.
CONSTANT SQUEALING AND GRINDING NOISE AND HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE NOW HAS 14028 MILES ON IT AND THE BRAKES STILL MAKES THIS NOISE WHEN COMING TO A STOP.
CAR STALLS FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING. THE VIN SHOWS NO RECALLS, BUT CHRYSLER RECALLED VEHICLES FOR THIS PROBLEM IN DEC. 16, 2016 ( RECALL 16V907000), INCLUDING 2016 JEEP COMPASS. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST MONTH.
MY CAR CONTINUALLY SHUT DOWNS WHILE DRIVING! THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING ON THE PA TURNPIKE CRUISE CONTROL SET. NO WARNING NO SOUND, THE CAR DOES NOT OVER HEAT. THE CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, AT APPROX 3:15 AM IN THE MORNING AND LEFT A MESSAGE. I DROPPED MY VEHICLE OFF 2 DAYS LATER (I BELIEVE) AND BY THAT TIME IT WAS JUMPING AS WELL WHEN INCREASING SPEED OR COMING AROUND CORNERS. THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WENT OUT WITH THE SERVICE MGR AND REPLICATED THE ISSUE. CAR DID NOT STALL AT THAT TIME AND I WAS TOLD WITH NO CODES, OR NOT BEING ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE THEY CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. SPARK PLUGS REPLACED $300 LATER NO JUMPING BUT CAR IS STILL STALLING!!!!!!! THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION. MY CAR IS CONTINUING TO STALL WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IN THE EARLY AM 3AM ON THE PA TURNPIKE. I COULD BE KILLED BY TRACTOR TRAILER. AGAIN THIS AM, I HAD CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 65 MPH - CAR STALLED NO WARNING!. THANKFULLY I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND COASTED TO THE SHOULDER. PUT MY CAR IN PARK, TURN THE KEY TO OFF AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART MY CAR - NOTHING!! WOULD TURN BUT NOT START, WAITED APPROX 1 MINUTE AND TRIED AGAIN, SAME THING WOULD NOT START. WAITED ANOTHER MINUTE,TRIED AGAIN AND THE CAR STARTED AND NOW THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. I DROVE TO WORK AT 55 MPH WITH FLASHERS ON - TOTALLY UNSAFE ON THE PA TURNPIKE. I CALLED MY DEALER IMMEDIATELY AND LEFT ANOTHER MESSAGE FOR THE SERVICE MGR AROUND 3AM THAT THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. HE ADVISED TAKE TO AN AUTO ZONE TO HAVE THE CODE CHECKED SINCE THEY DO FOR FREE. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THIS CAR-I DRIVE ALMOST 2 HRS TO GO TO WORK I AM SO SCARED OF THIS CAR AND AFRAID I AM GOING TO GET KILLED ON THE TURNPIKE BECAUSE OF THIS. WILL GO TO AUTOZONE CALL JOE,AND ATTEMPT TO GET HOME TO DEALER
I HAVE A 2016 JEEP COMPASS AND IT RANDOMLY JUST TURNS OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING IT. MY CAR HAS 55,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN IT FIRST HAPPENED IT HAD A CODE FOR A CRANK SENSOR AND I WAS TOLD IT REQUIRED AN UPDATE. THE UPDATE DID NOT CHANGE A THING. MY CAR WAS STILL TURNING OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. THIS LAST TIME IT TURNED OFF AT A RED LIGHT AND WHILE IN DRIVE BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS DOWN A HILL INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ONCE I STOPPED THE CAR, PUT ON MY FLASHERS, AND HAD IT IN PARK MY JEEP COMPASS WOULD NOT START AGAIN. I THEN HAD TO FLAG DOWN A POLICE OFFICER TO HELP WITH THE TRAFFIC AROUND ME. MY CAR EVENTUALLY STARTED AND I DROVE IT RIGHT TO THE JEEP DEALER WHO TOLD ME THERE WAS NO CODES AND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR, WHICH CLEARLY THERE MUST BE PROBLEM. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE FOR MYSELF OR OTHERS WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY PEOPLE ON THIS SITE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. 2016 JEEP COMPASS HAD A RECALL FOR THE CRANK SENSOR BUT MY CAR DID NOT FALL UNDER THIS RECALL BUT CLEARLY IT SHOULD HAVE. THIS IS MY 3RD TIME AT THE CHRYSLER DEALER WHO HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING.

SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING IT STUTTERS AND ACTS LIKE IT CAN'T CATCH UP TO THE SPEED THAT I'M GOING.
MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN STARTING UP. THE CAR WOULD SIT FOR 5 MINUTES AT THE LEAST AND WOULD NOT START UP RIGHT AWAY. I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE ONE OF MY SENSORS SO I CHANGED THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR BUT AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS BUT WORSE. IT MAKES A CLICKING NOISE LIKE IT'S TRYING TO START BUT WON'T AND THE LIGHTS FLICKER, EVERYTHING RESETS BUT DOESN'T TURN ON. NOW IT DOES THIS ANY TIME I TRY TO START THE CAR. AT SOME POINTS THE LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF IN ITS OWN AND COKE BACK ON OR JUST FLICKER AFTER IT HAS BEEN STARTED. IF AND WHEN I CAN FINALLY GET IT STARTED, WHEN I PRESS THE GAS TO ACCELERATE OR GOING UP A HILL, IT HESITATES AND PULLS BACK HARD. I THEN CAME ACROSS THIS PARTICULAR RECALL ON MY EXACT VEHICLE AND WONDERED IF MAYBE THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE CAUSING THE SAME PROBLEMS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW.
AS A MOTHER OF THREE CHILDREN, THE YOUNGEST ONLY BEING TWO YEARS OLD, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY 2016 JEEP COMPASS. EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE THE MOTOR RANDOMLY STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING SEVERAL DIFFERENT TIMES. MY CAR IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND DRIVEN EASILY AND EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL UNDER LIGHT LOAD IT STALLS OUT LEAVING ME IMMOBILE OR THE VEHICLE MISFIRING AND JERKING FORWARD VIOLENTLY STRUGGLING TO DRIVE WHICH PUTS MY CHILDREN AND I IN DANGEROUS OR POTENTIALLY DEADLY SITUATIONS. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. THIS IS DUE TO A BAD CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND OR BAD WIRING FROM THE FACTORY. WHEN I TYPE MY VIN NUMBER INTO THE NHTSA WEBSITE FOR RECALLS IT SAYS MY VEHICLE HAS NO ACTIVE RECALLS. THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER JEEP COMPASS'S OF THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL WITH THIS EXACT ISSUE UNDER RECALL AND MY VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL AS WELL. MY CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD IT SHOULD BE A RELATIVELY SAFE AND RELIABLE VEHICLE NOT SOMETHING I WORKED SO HARD TO BUY AND AN AFFRAID TO DRIVE.
CAR JERKS WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER MAKING A TURNS
ENGINE JERKS AS IF IT'S A STALL ISSUE
MY JEEP COMPASS 2016 HAD BEEN TO THE MECHANIC IN 2 DIFFERENT GARAGES. FOR 60 DAYS I'VE EXPERIENCED ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION. THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO ENGINE LIGHT. NO WARNING WHAT SO EVER. THIS SITUATION WAS VERY DANGEROUS AS MY CAR WOULD LOSE POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 4 WAY INTERSECTION, IT WOULD SHUT OFF ON THE FREEWAY. STALL OUT AND SHUT OFF AT STOP LIGHTS. I WAS AFRAID OF DRIVING MY CAR BUT I HAD TO GET TO WORK WHICH WAS 30 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME. 2 MECHANICS TOLD ME THAT THE ENGINE ON DIAGNOSTIC TESTING SHOWED NO CODES, THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. FINALLY A MECHANIC LOOKED AT MY RESEARCH AND AGREED TO REPLACE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WHICH HAD BEEN RECALLED ON 2016 COMPASS JEEP BUT MY VIN WAS NOT UNDER THE RECALL (WHY) AFTER THIS SENSOR WAS REPLACED THE CAR DROVE PERFECTLY, NO MORE STALLED ENGINE AND SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. I BELEIVE THAT JEEP CHRYSLER SHOULD PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AS IT IS A 2016 JEEP COMPASS AND THEY HAVE FIXED OTHERS. I WILL NEVER BUY A JEEP OR CHRYSLER. MOST SCARY CAR PROBLEM I EVER ENCOUNTERED. I AM A 55 YEAR OLD DRIVER, HAVING DRIVEN OVER A MILLION MILES IN MY LIFE TIME. TO HAVE A CAR SHUT OFF ITS ENGINE IN MID FLIGHT IS VERY DANGEROUS. HOPE THIS WILL HELP OTHERS UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING IF THEY OWN A JEEP.
KEY WILL NOT TURN. STATIONARY, TURN STEERING WHEEL AND KEY WILL TURN. ONE TIME REFUSED TO TURN. HAD CAR TOWED.
RECALL ON 2016 JEEP COMPASS FROM MAY 9TH- JULY 15 THE CRANKSHAFT , CAMSHAFT SENSOR MAY ONLY WORK INTERMITTINGLY CAUSING ENGINE TO STALL. AT 67,000 MILES MY CAR WHICH ALWAYS RAN VERY WELL STALLED, "ENGINE SHUT OFF IN MID FLIGHT" I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL, SLOWED TO STOP AND TURN RIGHT WHEN THE ENGINE DIED, COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I PUT JEEP IN PARK. TIRED TO RESTART WHICH IT DID NOT RESTART AND I WAITED AN HOUR FOR THE TRIPLE AAA. WE BROUGHT IT TO A MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AS THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS SHOWED NOTHING , HE STARTED IT AND CLAIMED HE DROVE DOWN THE RODE AND BACK AND IT WAS FINE. I PICKED UP MY JEEP AND DROVE IT HOME BUT WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE. I CALLED MECHANIC NUMBER 2 WHO TOOK A LOOK AT IT AND TOLD ME HIS DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT SHOWED NO CODE, HE DROVE IT AND COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM HE REPAIRED THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACE IT AND CLEANED IAC VALVE AND MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS. TOLD ME IT WAS FINE SHOULD BE OK TO DRIVE. I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT NOT MORE THAN 15 MILES AS I WAS TURNING RIGHT SLOWING DOWN THEN ACCELERATING IT STALLED IN MID FLIGHT CAR ENGINE DIED. I PUT FLASHERS ON AND PUT CAR IN PARK, THEN 2 MINUTES LATER IT STARTED AND I DROVE HOME. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS JEEP IT COULD EASILY BE INVOLVED IN A COLLISION AS IT IS UNPREDICTABLE WHEN IT WILL STOP, ENGINE DIES. I WILL TAKE IT BACK TO MECHANIC NUMBER 2 FOR A SECOND EVALUATION. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CHARGE ME FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND IF NO PROBLEM I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THEM $117 FOR THE HOUR THEY WOULD PUT THE MECHANIC ON IT TO CHECK IT.
THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT DOES NOT SEEM TO FULL ENGAGE WHEN I CLICK MY SEAT BELT. I HAD NOTICED WHEN WE CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP WHILE DRIVING TO A NEARBY STORE AND THE SELF BELT CAME UNDONE RIGHT AFTER I HAD CLICKED IT IN. THANKFULLY THE CONVENIENCE STORE IS ONLY A MILE OR SO AWAY ON A MAIN HIGHWAY ROUTE. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SINCE THEN HAVE MADE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK BY PULLING ON IT TO SEE IF IT'S FULLY ENGAGED. THERE ARE TIME WHERE IT'LL KEEP COMING UNDONE AND I HAVE TO KEEP CLICKING IT ON UNTIL IT FULLY ENGAGED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER (RAY LAETHEM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 18001 MACK AVE, DETROIT, MI) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS CHECKED UPON PARKING. THE FOLLOWING MORNING (10/08) VEHICLE STALLED UPON ATTEMPTING TO START AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR APPROX 10-15 MIN. THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE CAR TO WORK AND CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES TO SEE IF CAR WOULD STALL UPON STARTING. NO ISSUES AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR DISAPPEARED. CONTACTED RECALL/CHRYSLER DEPT, REFERRED TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP IN WHICH I WAS ADVISED THAT MY VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE CURRENT RECALL & NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V907000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE IS ONLY APPROXIMATELY 45,800. I AM AFRAID OF THE VEHICLE STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND/OR CAUSING A CRASH WITH CHILD IN THE CAR.

JEEP REPEATEDLY LEAKS FROM DOME LIGHT AFTER IT RAINS. MY MAP LIGHT IS FILLED WITH WATER WHEN IT RAINS.I HAD PUDDLES OF WATER IN FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER FOOT AREA. THE CAR SMELLS REALLY BAD.MY JEEP COMPASS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD JUST A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT.
I PURCHASED THE 2016 JEEP COMPASS USED FROM ROBERTSON HONDA IN PALMDALE CA. THE NEXT DAY I NOTICED THE BREAKS MADE A SQUEAK SOUND WHEN I APPLIED THE BREAKS AT A COMPLETE STOP. I TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP, THEY CHECKED IT AGAIN, AND TOLD ME I HAD NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT; THE BREAKS WERE SOUND AND NOT WORN OUT. THEN TODAY I FOUND OUT FROM CREDIT KARMA THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR. I'M CONCERNED AND WOULD LIKE THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED. I WAS NOT TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY CAR HAD A MANUFACTURES RECALL.

WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP, EITHER AT LIGHT OR IN TRAFFIC, MY RPM GAUGE NEEDLE WOULD DROP TO 0 RPMS, HOWEVER MY BATTERY IS STILL ACTIVE. I WILL THEN HAVE TO CYCLE KEY TO TURN VEHICLE BACK ON. THIS ALSO HAPPENED AS VEHICLE WAS MOVING/APPROACHING INTERSECTION WITH TRAFFIC LIGHT. AS I COASTED TO INTERSECTION MY RPMS AGAIN WENT TO ZERO. I THEN RELUCTANTLY WAS ABLE TO TURN STEERING WHEEL (ALTHOUGH LOST POWER STEERING) TO THE RIGHT AND CONTINUED TO COAST ONTO SHOULDER OF ROAD. PUT CAR INTO PARK, CYCLED KEY AND CAR TURNED ON BUT TOOK A SEVERAL SECONDS FOR ENGINE TO TURN OVER. TOOK VEHICLE INTO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP 3X FOR THIS ISSUE AND THEY COULDN'T FIND PROBLEM AND COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT WHILE DRIVING IT FOR A FEW DAYS.
ENGINE STALLS ALL A SUDDEN WHILE DRIVING, THEN THE DASHBOARD SENSOR LIGHTS COME ON LIKE THE ENGINE LIGHT THE ETC LIGHT AND THE ESP LIGHT. 2016 JEEP COMPASS RECALL - THE POWER AND ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR LOSES POWER. I HAVE TO CUT IT OFF AND RESTART. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON FOR A WHILE AND AFTER A COUPLE OF ENGINE STARTS, THE LIGHTS GO OFF. WHEN IT LOSES POWER, PUSHING ON THE GAS, THE CAR DOESN'T GET ANY POWER TO MOVE FORWARD. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, I.E. AT A STOP SIGN, MY CAR BEGINS TO DRIVE, THEN I HEAR THE ENGINE "REV", AS IF IT IS IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION. IT IS IN DRIVE. THEN I SHUT OFF THE CAR, RESTART AND THEN IT IS OK..IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN OFTEN, BUT WHEN IT DOES, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. I WOULD SAY IT HAPPENS 1X PER WEEK, SOMETIMES 2X PER WEEK. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THE "REVVING" BUT YOU CAN'T SEE ANYTHING OF COURSE!
STOPS RUNNING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. HAS STOPPED AT LEAST 20 TIMES. THERE IS NO LIGHTS THAT COME ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IT IS HARD TO STEER CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
MY MECHANIC BELIEVE'S I HAVE A SENSOR ISSUE GOING ON WITH MY TRANSMISSION. IT SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AS OTHER CERTAIN MODEL YEARS AS MINE. EVERY DRIVE I TAKE, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS. HE HAS RULED OUT EVERYTHING ELSE, AND ONE OR TWO OF THE SENSORS ARE POINTING TO MY TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THIS PROBLEM HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME AN ACCIDENT MULTIPLE DIFFERENT TIMES. AT THIS POINT I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT.

SINCE BEGINNING OF 2018 MY JEEP HAS STALLED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND I WAS DRIVING. I BROUGHT IT TO DEALER ON 2/15/18. DEALER SAYS IT COULD BE FROM LOW OIL. WHEN HE CHECKED THE OIL THE OIL LEVEL WAS GOOD AND CLEAN. HE RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE THE OIL ANYWAY. WHICH I DID. AGAIN JEEP STALLED 2 TIMES WHILE IN MOTION AND I WAS DRIVING. ON THE DASHBOARD THE WORD ESC APPEARS AND AFTER I RESTART THE ENGINE IT DISAPPEARS. I HAVE NOT SEEN A PATTERN WETHER IT BE MY SPEED, TURNING OR STOPPING AT A LIGHT. WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP ON 4/9/2018. SERVICE MANAGER CHECKED CAR BY PLUGGING IT IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST. ONLY STORED CODES APPEARED. NO CODE TO SHOW PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT ABOUT MONTH FOR A LOANER IN ORDER TO LEAVE THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR FURTHER REVIEW. DRIVING THIS JEEP IS VERY CONCERNING TO ME. I NEVER KNOW WHEN AND AT WHAT SPEED AND IF IT WILL TURN OVER.
