2022 JEEP COMPASS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO ILLUMINATED TIRE WARNING. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A SLICE IN THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE IN THE MIDST OF GETTING A TOW TO CHANGE THE TIRE DISCOVERED THERE WAS NO SPARE TIRE OFFERED WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THIS WASNT DISCLOSED AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, he heard abnormal grinding sounds coming from the front driver's side wheel area of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance Emergency Braking System and Pedestrian Emergency Braking System was independently disabled. The message "Forward Collision and Pedestrian Brakes Turned Off" was displayed. The contact stated that the Automatic Emergency Braking System would engage inadvertently while there were no vehicles or objects nearby. The contact stated that the emergency braking system engaged while he was depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on two separate occasions and the dealer informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that an unknown software needed to be updated; however, the part was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
