CONTINUED FAILURE OF FRONT DISC BRAKES APPROX. EVERY 8 OR 9,000 MILES. THIS IS THE THIRD OR FOURTH TIME THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT. *NLM
THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT DID NOT UNLATCH. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *NLM
AT ABOUT 30K MILES STARTED TO HAVE A SHIMMY FROM THE FRONT END WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY ADVISED BRAKES ARE 'WEAR' ITEMS AND WOULDN'T CORRECT. ENDED UP BUYING 'UPGRADED' FACTORY BRAKE CALIPERS FOR THE FRONT AND AFTERMARKET ROTORS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. CAW. *JB
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHEN THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED IT WILL VIBRTE AND SHIMMY. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE GENERALLY CLEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT MORE THAN 40 MPH IT BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP INITIALLY REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND SHAVED THE ROTORS. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL BEHAVIOR FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEMS ON ALL JEEP VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAD AN ODOMETER READING OF 64000 MILES. *AK
THE FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED, WHICH CAUSED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *JB
I OWN A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO. AT ~20000 MILES, WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT SPEEDS > 40 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY SHAKES AND SHUDDERS. CAR HAS OCCASIONALLY DRIFTED LEFT, ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS DUE TO PROBLEM. CHRYSLER RELEASED AN INTERNAL BULLETIN ON THIS - NO 05-003-02 REV B ISSUED ON DEC 16,2002. WELL WITHIN THE 3 YR, 36,000 MILE WARRANTY, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I USED REFUSED TO HONOR ANY OF THE WARRANTY PROVISIONS. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT, YET, NEITHER NHTSA HAS INITIATED AN INVESTIGATION INTO IT AND CHRYSLER HAS NOT SENT NOTICES OUT TO CUSTOMERS. THE PROBLEM IS QUITE CLEAR - THE CALIPERS ARE EATING INTO THE ROTOR AND CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR AND TEAR (CONVENIENTLY CALLED "WARPING" BY CHRYSLER). I SUPPOSE IT WILL TAKE A "DEATH OR TWO" BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS ON EITHER END.*JB
WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER NOTICED SMOKE BEGAN EMITTING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES IN APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES. *NLM
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ROTORS ON MY 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. AT 20,000 MILES THEY WARPED AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT RESURFACED THEM. AT 30,000 MILES, I HAD TO HAVE THEM REPLACED. AT 47,000 MILES, AGAIN RESURFACED AND AT AROUND 60,000 MILES, AGAIN I HAD TO REPLACE THEM. THIS IS NOT NEW TO ME. THIS IS MY FOURTH JEEP , AND HAVE HAD SIMILAR RESULTS ON ALL OF THE JEEPS THAT I HAVE OWNED. THIS IS NOT JUST MY EXPERIENCE, I KNOW OF MANY PEOPLE, WHOM I WORK WITH AND FRIENDS, THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE HAD. I BELIEVE THIS IS CAUSE BY A FEW DIFFERENT REASONS FOR THIS AND UNFORTUNATELY, IT ALL COMES BACK TO COST FOR THE CAR MANUFACTURES. THEY ARE MAKING THEIR ROTORS THINNER, AND OF POORER QUALITY MATERIALS. THIS MEANS THAT THEY CAN NOT GET RID OF HEAT PROPERLY AND THEREFORE FOR WARP. *NLM
THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED, THERE WAS A GAP IN THE BACK DOOR WHICH CAUSED THE DOOR LOCKS NOT TO WORK, THE DOOR HAD TO BE REPAINTED AND THE STEERING WHEEL COVER PEELED. MR *TS *JB
WE HAVE A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE BRAKES ARE PULSATING WHEN USED TO SLOW AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS ISSUE IS WELL KNOW & RECOGNIZED BY THE MANUFACTURER AS A DESIGN PROBLEM. THIS IS CREATING HAZARDOUS DRIVING BY MY WIFE & OTHERS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THERE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID PROBLEMS IS TO REPLACE THE BRAKE COMPONENTS. *NLM

CONSUMER HAD TO USE EXCESSIVE FORCE WHEN PUTTING THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO PARK, THERE WAS AN OWNERS NOTIFICATION REFERENCE #11022208 FOR THE PROBLEM. *JB THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY. SCC

VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 40,000 MILES AND THE FUEL PUMP SEAL HAS DETERIATED CAUSING VERY HARD STARTING AFTER THE VEHICLE SITS FOR SEVERAL HOURS. DEALER SAID THEY ARE SEEING A NUMBER OF THESE FAILURES. REPAIR COST IS SEVREAL HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A SMALL O-RING GASKET.
I HAVE A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO.I HAVE HAD THE ROTORS REPLACED FOUR TIMES IN UNDER ONE. I FEEL THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY DC AS A RECALL. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE FOR SERVICE, TECHNICIAN NOTIFIED HER, THE REAR BEARING WHEEL WAS LEAKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. TS REAR AXLE AND BEARINGS REPLACED. *TT
VEHICLE VIBRATES EXCESSIVELY WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED FROM 40 TO 70 MPH. ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT 5800,12500,&19900 MILES. DEALERS IN FL. AND NC HAVE SERVICED VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY, STATING ROTORS ARE PREMATURELY WARPED AND THEREFORE DEFECTIVE. NOW AT 30000 MILES AND VIBRATING AGAIN.
THE VEHICLE STALLED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE ENGINE HAD BLOWN. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM AND REQUESTED THAT CHRYSLER PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR THE COST OF REPAIRS. PH *NLM

WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. TS
EXPERIENCED VEHICLE VIBRATION WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRENTY AND IT HAD TO DO WITH DRIVER'S BRAKING HABITS, BUT THIS IS OUR SECOND GRAND CHEROKEE AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I HAD THE ROTORS (TWO FRONT) TURNED, BUT IT IS DOING IT AGAIN AFTER 5 MONTHS. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN, AND THEY TELL ME THE ROTORS (TWO FRONT) NEED TO BE TURNED AGAIN. FROM ALL THE COMPLAINTS I SEE AND HEAR ABOUT, IT SEEMS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES.
THE ENGINE SPEED ON MY 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ACCELERATES UNEXPECTED AND VERY SPORADIC WILL ENGINE IS IDLEING OR ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND OTHER MECHANICS AND THEY CANNOT FIND WHATS WRONG WITH IT. THE DEALER RE-SET THE COMPUTER PER A SERVICE BULLETIN BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP. I HAVE MANAGED TO CONTROL THE SPEED FLUCTATIONS BY DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES AND IT BRINGS IT DOWN TO NORMAL SPEED OR IDLE.*AK
THE BRAKES ON MY GRAND CHEROKEE CONTINUE TO PULSATE AFTER BEING REPLACED AND RESURFACED FOUR TIMES IN LESS THAN TWO YEARS. *JB
BRAKING SYSTEM ON 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE.THE BRAKES ARE WARPPING BADLY CAUSING THE ABS TO KICK IN IN SNOW AND ICE BEFORE NEEDED.THE DEALER IN PUYALLUP KNOWS THE EXACT PROBLEM CLAIMING TO FIX IT REQUIRES THE CALIPERS/ ROTORS TO BE UPGRADED TO A 2003 MODEL.THE VEHICLE HAS 52,000 MILES WHILE THE PADS STILL HAVE 50% LEFT.THIS PROBLEM HAS BECOME INCREASING WORSE TO A POINT WE NO LONGER DRIVE IT TO MOUNTAINS. PROBLEM: BRAKES WHEN I AM TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, AND I BRAKE, THE CAR VIBRATES. I BELIEVE THAT THERE MUST BE A PROBLEM WITH THE ROTORS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR QUITE AWHILE, BUT RECENTLY, I LEARNED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY JEEPS. ALSO, THE MIRRORS (ON THE SIDES OF THE CAR) FLIP BACK AND FORTH TOO EASILY. I HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT THESE, AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE SPRINGS ARE GONE. THIS SEEMS TO BE SHADILY MADE, AND THERE IS NO GOOD REASON WHY THE MIRRORS SHOULD BE FLIPPING BACK AND FORTH. *NM
I PURCHASED MY 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IN 2002. CHRYSER PURCHASED IT BACK FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER DUE TO A BRAKE ISSUE. THE DEALER ASSURED ME THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. WITHIN SIX MONTHS THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY UPON BRAKING. THE DEALER RESURFACED THE ROTORS AND IT WAS OKAY FOR A FEW THOUSAND MILES, THEN BEGAN THE SEVERE SHAKING AGAIN. CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP HAVE REFUSED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. WE HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE ROTORS BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE PROBLEM HAS RE-OCCURED. I HAVE SINCE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT A BAD DESIGN THAT CONTINUES TO WARP THE ROTORS.
SAFETY ISSUE: POWER DOOR LOCKS INOPERABLE. 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. ON THREE (3) SEPERATE OCCASSIONS, WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE THREE (3) SEPERATE ELECTRONIC LOCKING SYSTEMS REPLACED ON THREE (3) SEPERATE DOORS/HATCHES ON THIS VEHICLE. IN ALL THREE INCIDENTS, THE "ACTUATOR" HAS FAILED TO EITHER LOCK AND/OR UNLOCK EACH INDIVIDUALLY EFFECTED DOOR. ON ONE OCCASSION, WE WERE UNABLE TO EXIT THE DRIVER'S DOOR AT ALL, THUS HAVING TO CLIMB OVER TO THE PASSENGER'S FRONT DOOR TO EXIT. WHEN WE CONTACT THE MANUFACTUER - EACH TIME - THEY TELL US THAT THESE ARE "NORMAL WEAR ITEMS". AFTER SCANNING YOUR SIGHT, I FIND A TOTAL OF TWENTY-ONE SUCH RELATED COMPLAINTS FOR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES (NOT ALL YEAR 2000 MODELS) AND FOUR SPECIFICALLY RELATED, YEAR 2000 COMPLAINTS. TO DESCRIBE THE FAILURE: THE LOCKING MECHANISM SIMPLY FAILS TO ENGAGE AND/OR DISENGAGE AND MAKES A HIGHER PITCHED, LONGER THAN USUAL, WHINING SOUND - AS IF AN ELECTRICAL MOTOR HAS FAILED. THE COST OF EACH REPAIR HAS BEEN EQUAL TO OR EXCEEDED $150.00 PER INCIDENT. THE FOLLOWING LISTED INCIDENT DATE (ONLINE SUBMISSION FIELD REQUIRED) REFERS ONLY TO THE LATEST/MOST CURRENT DATE OF REPAIR. ALL SERVICES FOR SUCH REPAIRS - EACH INCIDENT - WERE OBTAINED AT CAPITOL GRAGE, A JEEP/CHRYSLER DEALER, IN WILLIMANTIC, CONNECICUT. THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED AT A NOW DEFUNCT, JEEP DEALERSHIP IN MANSFIELD, CONNECTICUT, NAMED CHAMPAGNE JEEP/CHEVEROLET.
CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE FRONT BRAKE ROTOR FAILURE DUE TO WARPAGE. THIS HAS OCCURRED EVERY 6,000-8,000 MILES. ROTORS AND PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES WITH THE CALIPERS REPLACED THE LAST TIME PER TSB #0500302 DTD 5/02. THEY HAVE NOW FAILED AGAIN EVEN WITH THE NEW CALIPERS. THE DEALER HAS BEEN GREAT, HOWEVER THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH CHRYSLER/JEEP THAT NEEDS A RECALL AND A PERMANENT FIX. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS A TIME ISSUE TO HAVE IT FIXED EVERY 8,000 MILES! CHRYSLER REFUSES TO PROVIDE AN EXTEDNED WARRANTY OR ANY LASTING SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. I THINK A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT WOULD BE IN ORDER.
WE PURCHASED A NEW $41,000. 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED. AFTER ONE SEASON THE HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FAILED TO PRODUCE ANY HEAT, ONLY COLD AIR. WE WERE TRAVELING TO MICHIGAN WHEN WE DISCOVERED THIS PROBLEM. MY WIFE WAS NOT HAPPY TRAVELING WITH A BLANKET OVER HER ENTIRE BODY FOR OUR 2500 MILES TRIP. THE DEALER FIXED THE PROBLEM THE FIRST YEAR. HOWEVER, THE FOLLOWING YEAR, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. THERE HAS BEEN MANY ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM EACH YEAR SINCE 2002. THEY WERE TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH UT TAKING THE DASHBOARD APART, IT WOULD COST THEM TOO MUCH TO DO THAT., WE KEPT TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP(FOR THE SAME PROBLEM 10 TIMES. I HAVE A HISTORY REPORT OF ALL MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS. FROM THE WINTER OF 2002 UP UNTIL THIS WINTER 2005 WE HAVE HAD THE SAME CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH THE HEAT. ITS WAS ALWAYS ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE DEALER FINALLY SAID THE PROBLEM WAS THE MIXING DOORS OF THE HEATING SYSTEM, AND IT WILL COST $800 TO FIX. WE HAD BEEN CHARGED A $100 DEDUCTIBLE EACH TIME THE DEALER SAID IT WAS FIXED. NOW THAT THEY HAVE PUT US OFF ALL THIS TIME, OUR 5 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. WE DIDN'T NEED HEAT IN OCTOBER, SO WE DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS THE PROBLEM AGAIN THIS YEAR. WE ONLY USE THE HEAT FOUR TO FIVE MONTHS OF THE YEAR. WHEN WINTER COMES AROUND WE EXPECT A $40,000 CAR TO HAVE HEAT. I AM 52 YEARS OLD, OWNED MANY CARS, AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE HEATING SYSTEM LIKE I DO WITH THIS CAR. HOW CAN SOME MECHANISMS BREAK IN THAT SHORT OF TIME, YEAR AFTER YEAR UNLESS ITS A PRODUCE DEFECT OR THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW HOW THE FIX THE PROBLEM PROPERLY? THE SALES PERSON SAID HE HAS SEEN OTHER GRAND CHEROKEES WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING . THE TRANSMISSION FROZE UP AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. TS
ROTORS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED EVERY 7000 MILES. WHEN ROTORS BECOME WARPED, IT BECOMES ALMOST UNDRIVABLE. TS

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE'S HEADLIGHTS AND TAILLIGHTS BURNED OUT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE TAILLIGHTS WERE CHANGED THREE TIMES. THE HEADLIGHTS ALSO FOGGED UP AND THE CONTACT ESTIMATED ONLY 50 PERCENT OF THE LIGHT WAS VISIBLE TO THE DRIVER.

FRONT BRAKE ROTORS HAVE WARPED BADLY AT 38,000 MILES AND AGAIN AT 49,000 MILES. DEALER CLAIMS THAT PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN A MIX OF CITY AND HIGHWAY MILES. NO OFF-ROAD DRIVING.
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2000 JEEP CHEROKEE GRAND LAREDO AND EVERY SINCE I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK THE BRAKE LIGHTS/ TAIL LIGHTS HAVEN'T WORKED PROPERLY. STEERING WHEEL SHAKES SO HARD NOW THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL CAR. FIRST STARTED TO NOTICE PROBLEM JUST OVER 12,000 MILES WHEN WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. JUDGING FROM OTHER COMPLAINTS AS WELL AS TSB BULLETINS, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL, OR WHY DOESN'T CHRYSLER REPLACE ROTORS FOR FREE AS THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW? *JB
BOUGHT USED 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FROM JEEP DEALER IN OCTOBER 2002. I ALSO PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM JEEP. AUGUEST 2003 THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE DROPPED. STOPPED JEEP CHECKED OIL, ALL LOOKED FINE, RESTARTED, GAUGE WENT BACK TO NORMAL. ASKED DEALER ABOUT IT, NO PROBLEM THEY SAID. ON A TRIP 300 MILES FROM HOME, OIL PRESSURE GAUGE DROPPED AGAIN, DID THE SAME, GAUGE CAME BACK, BUT DROPPED AGAIN. TOOK TO SERVICE STATION WHO COULDN'T HELP. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER. THEY SAID GUNK BUILD UP IN THE ENGINE, NEED TO REPLEACE AT A COST OF $9,000. I COULDN'T PROVE OIL CHANGES EVER 3,000 MILES (THEY WERE DONE AT HOME), I EXPLAINED I HAD ONLY HAD THE JEEP ONE YEAR, TOO BAD. EXTENDED WARRENTY WON'T HELP. I HAD ENGINE REPLACE BY A FRIEND WITH A USED ENGINE. JULY 2004, RADIATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. I CALLED JEEP TO ASK IF THEY WOULD COVER THE RADIATOR, THEY SAID NO, BECAUSE I COULDN'T PROVE I HAD THE RADIATOR FLUSHED AT 50,000 MILES. I TOLD THEM I DIDN'T EVEN OWN THE JEEP THEN, BUT THEY SAID TOO BAD.*AK SOMEONE NEEDS TO GET JEEP TO OWN UP TO THE PROBLEM.
THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 40 MPH WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. NLM
VEHICLE WENT INTO FULL THROTTLE REVERSE AS IT WAS SHIFTED OUT OF "PARK". VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A BRAKE INTERLOCK THAT PREVENTS SHIFTING OUT OF PARK WITHOUT BRAKE BEING APPLIED. VEHICLE LEFT RUBBER MARKS FROM ALL FOUR WHEELS FOR SEVERAL FEET BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO BEING IT UNDER CONTROL. APPLICATION OF BOTH FEET TO BRAKE PEDAL DIDN'T STOP THE ACCELERATION AND PROBLEM VANISHED AS QUICKLY AS IT APPEARED. ALL INDICATIONS NOMINAL AFTER THE EVENT, BUT AM NOW VERY CONCERNED OF PERSONAL LIABILITY IN THE EVENT OF AN INJURY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I CAN SAY WITH ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY THAT THE ACCELERATOR WAS NOT TOUCHED. ONE OTHER DETAIL I MIGHT MENTION IS THAT AS I WAS ENGAGING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE, SOMETHING REGISTERED THAT THE PEDAL "FELT FUNNY". I'VE ATTEMPTED TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM... USING THE BRAKE WITH THE ENGINE OFF TO REMOVE ANY VACUUM ASSIST, THEN STARTING... NORMAL SHIFTS FROM PARK TO REVERSE... NOTHING. MY PROFESSION AND TRAINING ALLOWS ME TO BE SOMEWHAT OBJECTIVE IN THIS MATTER. I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT SOMEHOW THE PEDAL "FEELING" FOR THE BRAKES AND THE INSTANT THROTTLE INCREASE ARE RELATED. SINCE THERE IS NO MECHANICAL CONNECTION, IT WOULD LEAD ME DOWN THE PATH OF AN ELECTRONICS MALFUNCTION. I WILL INFORM CHRYSLER AND THE DEALER AS SOON AS BUSINESS HOURS START ON MONDAY, BUT I WRITE THIS IN CASE I AM THE "VICTIM" OF A SIMILAR EVENT BEFORE THE VEHICLE IS REPAIRED.*AK
CONSUMER STATED THE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED AND ENGINE RUNNING. THE CONSUMER EXITED THE VEHICLE THEN IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND HIT A BRICK WALL. UPON INSPECTION THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE GEAR LEVER HAD SHIFTED FROM PARK TO REVERSE. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT GEAR SHIFT PROBLEM PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT. *TS *NLM
BRAKE LINE RUSTED THRU,RESULTING IN COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES. LINE IS RUSTED WHEREVER A CLIP HOLDS IT TO THE CHASSIS. OTHER SPOTS READY TO RUST THROUGH. MFG. REFUSES TO PAY FOR REPAIR OR CONSIDER THE CATASTROPHIC SAFETY ISSUE THIS INVOLVES. CLAIM IT IS DUE TO ELEMENTS.....WHOLE LINE IS NOT RUSTED THROUGH, ONLY WHERE CLIP HOLDS IT. CAR WAS DRIVEN NORMALLY, UNDER SAME CONDITIONS OTHERS FACE, THIS COULD BE A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE CAUSING DEATH. CERTAINLY YOUR BRAKE LINE SHOULD NOT FAIL AFTER 2.5 YEARS WITH NORMAL USE. IF THE ELEMENTS CAUSED IT, ARE THE CARS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVEN OUTSIDE. COULD BE A REACTION BETWEEN THE CLIP AND THE LINE CAUSED BY SALT, BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE DRIVING THROUGH SALT IN THE WINTER. THEY MAY DIE.*AK
VENTILATION SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING. I WAS TOLD RESISTOR OVERHEATS CAUSING HARNESS AND MOTOR TO MELT. REPAIR IS $500.00+ SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID IT "HAPPENS ALOT". SEEMS TO ME RESISTOR NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED.*AK
