MY HUSBAND WAS BACKING THE JEEP OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. ONCE THE JEEP WAS PUT IN DRIVE IT ACCELERATED WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL. IT TOOK MY HUSBAND TO PUT BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE TO STOP AND PLACE THE JEEP IN PARK. WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED REVING HE WAS ABLE TO PUT THE JEEP IN DRIVE AND PROCEED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. HE DROVE ABOUT 15 FEET AND THE JEEP STALLED. NOW I DRIVE THIS JEEP ON AVERAGE ABOUT 800 MILES PER WEEK. I DID TAKE THE JEEP OVER TO CHRYSLER TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. I TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND LEFT MY JEEP THERE. I RECEIVED A CALL ABOUT 5 HOURS LATER STATING THAT THE JEEP WAS READY TO BE PICKED UP AND WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE JEEP. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GIVE ME ANY TYPE OF EXPLANANTION OF WHY THIS HAPPENED. I DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN WHILE I AM DRIVING, I DON'T THINK I WOULD BE ABLE TO STOP THE JEEP LIKE MY HUSBAND DID. I AM AFRAID THAT I WILL RUN OFF THE ROAD OR SMASH INTO SOMETHING. I DID READ ABOUT ANOTHER PERSON ON YOUR SITE WHO HAD A SIMILIAR PROBLEM. CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 20 MPH ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND ANOTHER VEHICLE CROSSED OVER INTO CONSUMER'S LANE AND HIT HER HEAD-ON. UPON IMPACT, DUAL AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED, AND CONSUMER WAS TRANSPORTATED TO HOSPITAL. *AK
AT 10000 MILES THERE WAS SHAKING IN FRONT END WHENEVER CONSUMER APPLIED BRAKES. DEALER TURNED WARPED ROTORS. THIS TOOK CARE OF PROBLEM FOR ABOUT A WEEK. DEALER WANTS CONSUMER TO PAY FOR NEW FRONT ROTORS, WARRANTY ONLY COVERS 12000 MILES.*AK
LAST YEAR VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR A SHIMMY. WHEN TRAVELING OVER 50 MPH THE VEHICLE SHAKES VERY BADLY. TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. SIX THOUSAND MILES LATE, VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE JUST A LITTLE. TOOK BACK TO DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. EVERY 15 TO 20 MILES ROTOR NEED CHANGING. CONSUMER FEELS ITS VERY UNSAFE.*AK
DISC BRAKES CONTINUALLY NEED WORK. ROTORS WARP AND MUST BE TURNED EVERY 10,000 MILES! NOW THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WON'T SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR UNTIL THE CAR IS WARMED UP. WHAT NEXT? THE BRAKE MAINTENANCE ALONE HAS COST ME NEARLY $2,000. THIS IS A $30,000 VEHICLE AND SHOULD NOT REQUIRE THIS MUCH MAINTENANCE! *LA
NOTE: RENTAL CAR. PARKED VEHICLE AFTER BACKING UP MODERATELY INCLINED DRIVEWAY. SET TRANSMISSION IN PARK. DID NOT SET PARKING BRAKE NOR CHOCK WHEELS. VEHICLE WAS STABLE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES (BROUGHT ONE CHILD INTO HOUSE) BUT THEN BEGAN TO ROLL DOWN HILL. WAS NOT SLIPPING ON PAVEMENT; WAS NOT DRIVING ENGINE (AS WITH STANDARD SHIFT.) COULD NOT STOP VEHICLE BY HOLDING BACK. TRANSMISSION WAS STILL IN PARK, NOT DISLODGED (CONFIRMED THIS FACT). PULLED PARKING BRAKE AND VEHICLE STOPPED (NO HARM NO FOUL.) BUT DID NOT EXPECT VEHICLE WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SET IN PARK TO BE MOBILE AT ALL. DID REPORT THIS TO RENTAL AGENT WHEN RETURNING VEHICLE.*AK
BRAKE ROTORS AND PAD HAVE TO BE REPLACED EVERY 25000 MILES. BRAKES PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
LEASED VEHICLE ON 7/10/02. BRAKES BEGAN TO PULSE AND PULL TO RIGHT ON APPLICATION AT ABOUT 6000 MILES. DEALER MACHINED FRONT ROTORS AND REPLACED PADS UNDER WARRANTY AT 7897 MILES. SAME SITUATION AT 20000 MILES. DEALER TURNED FRONT ROTORS AT 24767 MILES AND CALLED IT "COURTESY". SAID WARRANTY ON BRAKES, ROTORS ONLY 12000MI. SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM ON 99-00 JEEPS AND HE SPENDS MUCH TIME TURNING ROTORS ON JEEP VEHICLES. EVEN HAD TO BUY SPECIAL MACHINE TO TURN ROTORS IN PLACE ON VEHICLE. SAYS SOME GET SO BAD THEY CAN'T BE CONTROLLED ON BRAKE APPLICATION. HE SAYS PROBLEM IS BAD ROTORS FROM SUPPLIER TO DAIMLER-CHRYSLER. NOW AT 33000 MILES, THIS VEHICLE AGAIN HAS FAILED BRAKE ROTORS AND IS RAPIDLY BECOMING UNSAFE FOR MY FAMILY'S TRANSPORTATION. JUDGING FROM THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEBSITE AND ON THE NUMBER OF WEBSITES DEVOTED TO THIS DEFECT, I WOULD THINK YOU HAVE ENOUGH INFORMATION TO FORCE A RECALL. WHILE PARKED TRANSMISSION JUMPED OUT OF PARK AND WENT INTO DRIVE. VEHICLE TOOK OFF, ALMOST RAN OVER DRIVER,BUT WAS PULLED OUT BY A FRIEND. NONETHELESS DRIVER SUFFERED A BROKE ANKLE AND WAS TREATED AT HOSPITAL. THERE WAS A LOT OF DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. *AK
STEERING COLUMN HAD VIBRATION THAT HAS BEEN GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. TOOK VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP THAT EXAMINED VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT ROTORS WERE WARPED AND HAD TO BE RESURFACED. ALSO, PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED. *AK *JB
VEHICLE STALLS. ALSO, BRAKES AND ROTORS ARE DEFECTIVE. *AK
THERE IS VIBRATION COMING FROM FRONT OF THE VEHICLE DURING ACTIVATION OF BRAKE SYSTEM. VIBRATION INCREASES IN SEVERITY WHEN SPEED OF VEHICLE INCREASES. THE DEALERSHIP EXAMINED VEHICLE AT 10,000 MILES, AND REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS WHICH FAILED TO EFFECTIVELY REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *AKTHE DEALER REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THE WARPED ROTORS, THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT FAULTY PARTS WERE USED BUT CLAIM THAT THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE PARTS *NLM
THERE IS VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL WHEN APPLYING BRAKE, DEALER TURNED BOTH FRONT ROTORS TWICE, THEN REPLACED ROTORS TWICE. FIRST TURNED AT 19000 MILES.*JB
2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SINCE PURCHASE, VIBRATES WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IS ALSO CAUSING UNEVEN FEATHERING/WEAR ON FRONT TIRES. I GAVE UP ON BIGELOW MOTORS, BELLEVILLE, NJ EVER HELPING ME FROM THE START, AS THEY CONTINUED TO DENY THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. I WAS ADVISED THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS THE CALIPER WARP IN THIS MODEL OF CHEROKEE AND BOTH THE CALIPERS AND ROTORS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS AS YET BUT THERE CERTAINLY SHOULD BE. I HAVE BEEN READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS MODEL OF JEEP AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS HAD REPEATED BRAKE PROBLEMS WHICH GO UNADDRESSED AND COST OWNERS A LOT OF MONEY TO FIX OR GET TO THE PROBLEMS. CHRYSLER OBVIOUSLY IS NOT RESPONDING DELIBERATELY. SOMEONE NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THE BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND FIND OUT WHY THEY CAN NOT BE FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL. THE CONSUMER IS NOT BEING INFORMED OF THE POTENTIAL BRAKE PROBLEMS AND THUS CAN NOT MAKE AND INFORMED DECISION WHEN PURCHASING A NEW VEHICLE . IN THE END MONEY OUT OF CONSUMERS POCKETS AND NO PROTECTION FROM FRAUD BY THE MANUFACTURER. I HAVE HAD THE BRAKES REPAIRED ALMOST A DOZEN TIMES AT A COST OF ALMOST $450 FOR EACH REPAIR!!! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE, SO PLEASE HELP. I NEED SOME GUIDANCE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES BY ITSELF AND MAKES A STRANGE NOISE IN THE TRANSMISSION BOX. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASE, WITH REPAIR COSTS EXCEEDING $4,000. THE DEALER STATED THAT EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE RECALLS, HER VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. THE DEALER CHANGED HER FUEL INJECTOR SYSTEM, WHICH CAUSED HER TO BE INVOLVED IN A CRASH AND ALSO RECEIVE SPEEDING TICKETS. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON THE FREEWAY AND ALMOST CAUSED ANOTHER VEHICLE TO RUN OVER HER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT TAKES APPROXIMATELY FIFTEEN MINUTES TO START THE VEHICLE. SHE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AFTER THE MOST RECENT FAILURE AND THEY STATED THAT SHE WOULD NEED ANOTHER FUEL PUMP. SHE CALLED DAIMLER CHRYSLER WHO STATED THAT SHE NEEDED TO TAKE HER VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. CHRYSLER STATED THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PARTS OF HER VEHICLE AT NO COST. WHEN SHE TOOK HER VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY STATED THAT THE REPRESENTATIVE FROM CHRYSLER GAVE HER THE WRONG INFORMATION AND THAT HER VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN SINCE DUE TO THE PREVIOUS CRASH AND FAILURES. THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT HAVE ALL OF THE REPAIR DOCUMENTATION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED FOR THE SPEEDING TICKETS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 99,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A GRADUAL STOP AND APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL THERE WAS EXCESSIVE PULSATION. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE; GOT OUT WITH DOOR OPEN TO PUT MATERIAL IN CAR; VEHICLE SLIPPED INTO REVERSE, BACKING OUT OF GARAGE; DAMAGE TO DRIVER SIDE DOOR, FENDERS AND GARAGE STRUCTURE. STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHEN YOU APPLY BRAKES, AND AT THE SAME TIME IT MAKE A WEIRD PULSATION. CHRYSLER MADE ME REPLACE A PART AND THE CAR KEEPS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM OVER AND OVER AND I HAVE TO KEEP PAYING TO HAVE PARTS REPLACED. *LA
AFTER BEING SIDE-SWIPED I EXITED MY VEHICLE LEAVING THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE TRANSMISSION IN WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE PARK. AFTER A SHORT TIME MY VEHICLE, ON ITS OWN, BACKED INTO ANOTHER JEEP PARKED IN THE INTERSECTION BEHIND ME. AT THE TIME I BELIEVED I LEFT THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. SOMETIME TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF THIS YEAR I READ OF A PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL STATING THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO STAY IN PARK BUT THE ARTICLE FURTHER STATED IT WAS FOR MODEL YEARS UP TO 1999 ONLY. SUBSEQUENTLY I READ THAT LATER MODELS ALSO HAD THIS PROBLEM (A FLAT SPOT BETWEEN PARK AND REVERSE CAUSING THE TRTANSMISSION TO HOLD THE VEHICLE IN PARK WITHOUT THE DETENT LOCKING IT IN PARK). WITH THIS INFORMATION I TRIED TO SIMULATE THE PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE. TO MY SURPRISE I COULD EASILY SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION ONTO THE FLAT SPOT WITHOUT THE PARK DETENT LOCKING INTO PARK AND WITH JUST THE SLIGHTEST TOUCH OF THE SHIFTING LEVER CAUSE THE TREANSMISSION TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. THIS COULD ONLY BE ACCOMPLISHED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. I NOW QUESTION IF THE SECOND PART OF MY ACCIDENT (MY VEHICLE BACKING INTO THE CAR BEHIND MINE) WAS CAUSED BY THIS DESIGN FLAW IN THE TRANSMISSION. I REPORTED MY FINDINGS TO THE DEALER'S SERVICE MANAGER BUT WAS TOLD "...TO TALK WITH THE BODY SHOP THAT REPAIRED THE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE" (I DID NOT TSLK WITH THE BODY SHOP AS THIS SOLUTION SOUNDED RIDICULOUS).*AK
I CALLED PITRE CHRYSLER/JEEP SERVICE DIRECTOR FOLLOWING THE BLOWOUT OF MY RIGHT REAR TIRE AND ASKED IF HE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF TIRE FAILURES OF THIS GOODYEAR TIRE. HE SAID HE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF BLOWOUTS WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLER. I TOLD HIM I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT WRANGLER TIRE FAILURES A FEW MONTHS AGO. HE SAID I WAS MISTAKEN AND THAT EVEN THOUGH THE 2000 JEEP IS UNDER WARRANTY THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO FOR ME. I FIND THIS SUSPECT, ESPECIALLY COMING FROM A PERSON OF HIS POSITION AT PITRE CHRYSLER/JEEP. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME OR CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION TO THE CONTRARY. STEERING WHEEL/COLUMN IS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED, AND STEERING WHEEL FEELS AS IF IT IS LOOSE. ALSO, WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED A BEEPING NOISE IS EMITTED ON A RANDOM OCCURRENCE. DEALERSHIP HAS EXAMINED VEHICLE, AND CHANGED GEAR BOX THREE (3) TIMES. HOWEVER , PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS. *AK

VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON INCLINE OF DRIVEWAY. CONSUMER STARTED IT UP, GOT OUT WHILE WARMNG UP. WHEN GETTING BACK IN VEHICLE, IT ROLLED DOWN HILL INTO GARAGE DOOR. DEALER COULDN'T FIND AN EXPLANATION.*AK THE KEY WOUL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PUT THE LEVER IN PARK AGAIN AND THE KEY COULD BE REMOVED. NLM
PLEASE HELP ME I BOUGH A NEW CAR FROM THESE DEALER AND I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END. I BOUGHT THESE CAR IN JULY OF 2000 AND THE BRAKE PADS/ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACE 3 TIMES ALREADY THE FIRST TIME WAS ON DECEMBER 2000, THE SECOND TIME WAS ON JUNE 2001 AND THE THIRD TIME NOW WAS NOVEMBER 2001. THE THIRD TIME I HAD TO PAY BECAUSE MY CAR WAS OVER THE 12,000 THOUSAND MILE WARRANTY. WE SPOKE TO THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE DEALER AND WE GOT NO HELP, HE REFER US TO THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMMENT WHO WAS NO HELP EITHER, I JUST SEND A LETTER TO THE COMPANY IN MICHIGAN BECAUSE WE REALLY THINK IS NOT FAIR, WE BEING GIVEN THE RUN AROUND BY EVERYONE, WE BELIEVE THAT OUR CAR HAS A BRAKE/ROTORS FACTORY DEFECT BUT WE DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT GETTING HELP. BESIDES THE LAST TIME I TOOK THE CAR TO GET THE ROTORS REPLACED THE DEALER REPORTED TO ME THAT SOMETHING WAS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT VEHICLE AND THAT THE INNER DIFERENTIAL AXLES NEEDED TO BE SEALS, IS THESE NORMAL ON A NEW CAR WE ARE MAINLY CONCERN ABOUT THE BRAKE/PADS ROTORS AND BECAUSE WE HAVE CHILDREN WE DO NOT KNOW IF THESE COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. BRAKES PULSATED AND WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP IT WAS DUE TO DRIVING IN WARM WEATHER. HAD ROTORS TURNED AT 12000 AND 30000 MILES WITH SAMPE PROBLEMS. STEERING WHEEL ALSO VIBRATES WHEN BRAKING AT HIGH SPEEDS. NOW HAVE 46000 MILES AND NEED ROTORS REPLACED. THIS SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY REPLACEMENT AT THESE MILES.*AK
AT AROUND 15,000 MILES, WE BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE THE STEERING WHEEL SHIMMING EXCESSIVELY WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. I KNEW THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY WARPED ROTORS SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY INFORMED ME THAT BRAKES/ROTORS ARE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ITEMS. SINCE THE DEALERSHIP DID NOTHING, I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE ROTORS AS I DIDN'T THINK TURNING THEM WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM AS THE CAR HAD ONLY 15,000 MILES ON IT. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. A FOREIGN CAR WOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND THEY DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. IF THIS GETS FORWARDED TO JEEP, I WANT THEM TO KNOW THAT THEY HAVE LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER FOREVER. I ALSO LIKE TO TELL EVERYONE I MEET ABOUT HOW I HAVE EXPERIENCED SUCH POOR SERVICE FROM AMERICAN MANUFACTURERS. *JB
REAR DISC BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE WERE DEFECTIVE FROM DATE OF PURCHASE WHICH IS WHY I HAD THE ACCIDENT DESCRIBED IN THE PREVIOUS SECTION. WHEN I ASKED MY DEALERSHIP TO CHECK THE BRAKES NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE AND AFTER THE ACCIDENT NOTHING WAS DONE BY MY DEALERSHIP. THEY FINALLY INSTALLED NEW REAR DISC BREAKS ON 3/26/2001 WHEN I COMPLAINED ONE MORE TIME THAT THERE WAS VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE WHOLE CAR WHILE BRAKING. FROM THE TIME FRAME GIVEN IT LOOKS LIKE MY DEALERSHIP WAS TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR NEW REAR BRAKES AFTER THE WARRANTY ON THEM EXPIRED BUT I HELD MY GROUND AND GOT IT FIXED FOR FREE. IF THE BRAKES WERE IN NORMAL CONDITION, I WOULD HAVE AVOIDED THE ACCIDENT THAT I WAS IN AND WOULDN'T HAVE HAD $5000 OF DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. I HAVE ALL OF THE PAPERWORK TO PROVE MY POINT.
CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE VEHICLE BECAME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN BRAKING, AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY, THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES DUE TO WARPAGE AND THE BRAKE PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ONCE.*JB
AT 9,000 MILES DEFECTIVE ROTORS CAUSED STEERING WHEEL TO VIBRATE SEVERELY WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED, DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL.*AK CONSUMER STATED THAT MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE SHARED THE EXPENSE OF REPLACING FRONT AND BACK PADS/ROTORS.*SLC
I PULLED MY JEEP OUT OF THE GARAGE, WHILE IDLING, I GOT OUT TO GO BEHIND THE JEEP TO CLOSE THE GARAGE DOOR, WHEN THE TRANSMISSION JUMPED OUT OF PARK INTO REVERSE. I WAS HIT AND THROWN TO THE BACK OF THE GARAGE RECEIVING MANY BRUISES AND SCRATCHES. I THEN WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND WAS CHECKED OUT. MY INSURANCE AGENT CAME THE NEXT DAY AND FILED A REPORT OF THE ACCIDENT . THE DEALER FROM WHERE I PURCHASED THE JEEP WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ACCIDENT. THE DAMAGE TO THE JEEP, TO THE GARAGE AND ITS CONTENTS WAS IN EXCESS OF $7000.00. IN AUGUST 2001, I SAW ON CNN NEWS JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S WERE BEING REPORTED FOR TRANSMISSIONS SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. VEHICLE WAS RUNNING, AND IT WAS IN PARK. CONSUMER WAS WALKING AWAY FROM VEHICLE, AND VEHICLE CAME BACKWARD AND PINNED HIM BETWEEN FRAME OF GARAGE AND REAR FENDER OF VEHICLE. HE SAID THAT A NEIGBHOR CAME, AND GOT INSIDE OF VEHICLE TO RELEASE HIM. *AK *SLC
WHEN PUTTING ON BRAKES, FRONT END WOULD SHIMMY AND VIBRATE. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY CHANGED ROTORS/ RESURFACED REAR ROTORS, AND REPLACED SHOES. DEALER KEEPS REPLACING DEFECT WITH SAME FIX, AND PROBLEM KEEPS REOCCURRING.*AK. THE BRAKES FAIL EVERY 10,000 MILES. FIRST TWO BRAKE JOBS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. CONSUMER REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE THIRD BRAKE JOB. DEALER RESURFACED ROTORS FOR FREE. *JG
CONSUMER WAS GOING 25-30 MPH HAD AN ACCIDENT. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER DRIVER OR PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. CONTACTED DEALER, DEALER UNABLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE.*AK

TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP OUT OF GEAR AND SUDDENLY WILL GO BACK INTO GEAR WITH A JERK. VEHICLE, SOMETIMES WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR AT ALL. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER LOOKED AT VEHICLE AND REPLACED REAR END, BUT DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. PLEASE ADD VIN . *AK

LETTER SENT TO DEALER AND MANUFACTURER AFTER SECOND REPAIR COMPLETED INDICATING MY CONCERN ABOUT HAVING TWO FRONT BRAKE WARP PROBLEMS IN LESS THAN 18000 MILES. I INDICATED I WAS GOING TO SUBMIT A LETTER OF CONCERN TO NHTSA. CURRENTLY HAVE A GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP WITH THE DEALER.*AK
BOTH TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES FAILED (BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON). THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE GROUND CONNECTION OF THE BRAKE LAMPS, WHICH IS PART OF THE TAIL LIGHT ASSY. THE ASSY IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND THE BRAKE LIGHT BULBS WHEN SECURED AND CRACKS. THIS COMPROMISES THE GROUND CONNECTION AND THE LIGHTS DO NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. MUST REPLACE TAIL LIGHT ASSY. *NM
ROTORS ARE WARPING AT 15,000 MILE INTERVALS. DEALER SAYS THEY ARE HAVING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING WARPED BRAKE ROTORS BUT THEY SAY NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY CLAIM THE ROTORS ARE NOT MADE DURABLE ENOUGH (THICK ENOUGH) FOR THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE ROTORS WARP THE VEHICLE VIBRATES WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. IN MY OPINION IT WOULD APPEAR THE MFG IS USING DEFECTIVE ROTORS SINCE THE BRAKE PADS ARE OUTLASTING THE ROTORS. ROTORS SHOULD NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED OR TURNED AT 15,000 MILE INTERVALS.TS. *AK
I WAS CRUISING AT 50 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ACCELERATE UNCONTROLLABLY, I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE..I HAD TO TURN OF THE ENGINE TO STOP. AND WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE.IT JUST REVVED REALLY HIGH..I CHECK THE FLOORMATS AND IT WAS IN PLACE THE GAS PEDAL WAS NOT STUCK IN THE FLOORMAT. *AK
I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION WHICH STARTED A SMALL PILE UP. I WAS STRUCK IN THE REAR AND MY FUEL TANK RUPTURED AND THE JEEP BURST INTO FLAMES IMMEDIATELY AS I WAS PUSHED INTO SECOND CAR. BY THE GRACE OF GOD I SURVIVED.
