The bolt broke on the driver's side seat. I had it replaced and I would like the car manufacture to reimburse me. Several Jeep owners have posted on this issue. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle and slid off the roadway, only coming to a complete stop after rolling once down an embankment and colliding with a tree. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a storage facility and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The driver did not receive immediate medical attention but later transported himself to a chiropractor and was treated for stiffness. OVERHEAD DISPLAY CEASES TO WORK. ONLINE FORUMS HAVE POINTED TO A FAULTY WIRING HARNESS THAT HAS TO BE REPLACED AT CONSIDERABLE COST. IF THE HARNESS IS FAULTY COULD IT CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM?
THE 2001 JEEP JUST CAME TO A STOP WHILE IT WAS BEING DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY. IT HAD ALWAYS HAD ENGINE ISSUES. THE FRONT WHEEL SUSPENSION ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE 2001 JEEP CHEROKEE LAREDO IS BENT AND WHILE DRIVING IT ON THE STREET OR HIGHWAY IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE LEFT AND IS UNSTABLE WHEN DRIVING IT ON A HIGHWAY OR STREET. THE ENGINE HAS A KNOCKING SOUND WHENEVER IT IS RUNNING. THE BRAKES TO THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SLIPPING AND MAKING A GRINDING NOISE WHILE DRIVING IT. SOMETIMES THE JEEP DOESN'T WANT TO DRIVE OVER 70 MPH WHEN DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY OR STREET. WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES BECAUSE THEY STARTED SMOKING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE IS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE CAR AS WELL WHERE THE RADIO DOESN'T PLAY AS WELL AS OTHER ELECTRICAL PARTS DON'T WORK. MY 2001 JEEP HAS STOPPED WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT IS NOT DRIVABLE. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUGS MANY TIMES FOR MANY YEARS. THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A WATER LEAK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DRIPPING WHENEVER THE CAR IS IN MOTION, COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD ONTO THE CARPET SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. THERE MAY BE OTHER ISSUES WITH THE 2001 JEEP THAT I HAVE MISSED.
MY HUSBAND WAS IN A ACCIDENT AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY
THE FUEL RAIL PULSATION DAMPER IS LEAKING GASOLINE CREATING AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY HAZARD. THIS FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AND NOT AVAILABLE. WE NEED TO ELEVATE THIS SITUATION IN ORDER TO GET A SATISFACTORY REPAIR PROCEDURE IN EFFECT. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE WAY FOR A NATIONAL DEALER TO CARE FOR THEIR VEHICLES, LEAVING THE CONSUMER TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES SEARCHING ENDLESSLY FOR A SOLUTION. THE CAR COOLANT FINISHED
THE CASING HOLDING THE GAS TANK UP IN A SAFE MANNER HAS DETERIATED TO A POINT THAT THE FUEL TANK IS NOW IN DANGER OF SCRAPING THE PAVEMENT WHILE MOVING.
THE 2001 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES HAVE AN ISSUE WHERE THE INJECTORS GET REALLY HOT AND CAUSE ENGINE MISFIRE AND COULD CATCH ON FIRE DUE TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BEING RIGHT UNDERNEATH THEM. THE RECALL WAS ALREADY ISSUE FOR THESE JEEPS BY PROVIDING INSULATORS THAT ARE PUT ON THE INJECTORS AND BETWEEN ON THE INJECTORS AND THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. MY JEEP ALREADY HAD THE INSULATOR INSTALLED BUT BECAUSE THE VALVE COVER GASKET BROKE AND LEAKED OIL ALL OVER THE INSULATOR BLANKET AND SOAKED IT WITH OIL AND MADE IT A FIRE A HAZARD, I THREW IT AWAY THINKING THAT I CAN JUST BUY A NEW ONE FROM CHRYSLER. I WENT ONTO IWANTMOPAR.COM, A FCA DEALERSHIP (MCGOVERN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM ON 777 WASHINGTON ST, NEWTON, MA 02460), AND ORDERED SIX INJECTOR SHIELDS AND AN INSULATOR BLANKET TO REPLACE THE ONE THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY ON MY JEEP. THREE WEEK PASSED AND I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THEM REFUSING TO SELL ME THE RECALL PARTS, STATING THAT MY JEEP HAD THESE PARTS ALREADY. HOW CAN A DEALERSHIP REFUSE TO SELL ME PARTS THAT MAKE MY JEEP SAFE AND COMPLIANT WITH FEDERAL LAWS? THANKS

THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FUEL TANK COVER MAY HAVE FALLEN OFF AND IT WAS WET; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WILLIAMS BROTHERS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF DUNDEE (4706 ANN ARBOR RD, DUNDEE, MI 48131) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK SUPPORT SYSTEM WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 177,804. *BF CONSUMER STATED ON 5-27-19 WHILE DRIVING PART OF IT FELL OFF. CONSUMER STATED HE WILL BE REPLACING IT.*JB
THIS JEEP WILL RUN FINE, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO RED LIGHTS AND IDLE, THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF AND NOT TURN ON AGAIN FOR ATLEAST 10 MINUTES. SPENT ABOUT 3,000 USD TO FIX AT MULTIPLE MECHANIC AND THE ISSUE REMAINS. WHY HAS JEEP NEVER TAKEN THE TIME TO RECALL THIS ISSUE AS IT CAN CAUSE THE LIVES OF MANY DRIVERS.

THE DEALER RIVERHEAD DODGE (LOCATED AT 642 W MAIN ST, RIVERHEAD, NY 11901; (631) 727-1040) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THE DEALER COULD DO SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 866-814-1480 AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALLS AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE FOR AN INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
MY 2001 JEEP CHEROKEE LAREDO FRONT DRIVER SEAT BROKE. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REPLACE THE SEAT AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ONE. I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE SEAT BROKE LUCKILY I HAD BOTH HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL TIGHTLY AND SITTING COMPLETELY STRAIGHT OR I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR. IT IS SO WIDESPREAD THAT SEVERAL DIFFERENT BODY SHOPS AND JUNK YARDS HAVE TOLD ME THEY BREAK SO OTHER THEY NEVER CAN GET ONE INTACT. I HAVE LOOKED FOR OEM PARTS WHICH IS MY FIRST CHOICE AND HAVE FOUND THIS ITEM NOT AVAILABLE IT. THE BRACKET UNDER THE SEAT IS NOT VERY SUPPORTIVE AND SEEMS TO BE VERY POORLY MADE(THIN METAL) I AM NOT A MECHANIC BUT I GREW UP AROUND SEVERAL. I AM STILL HOPING TO NOT HAVE TO GIVE MY JEEP UP BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND A SEAT. WE ALSO OWN A 1998 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED AND WE HAVE NOT HAD ANYWHERE NEAR THE PROBLEMS AS WE HAVE HAD WITH THE 2001 I SERIOUSLY THINK THE 2001-2003 WERE MADE POORLY AND JEEP NEEDS TO STEP UP AND ACCEPT IT AND RECALL THE PROBLEM ITEMS. I HAVE ALREADY HAD HEADLAMP, TAIL LIGHT AND THE GAS TANK RECALLS CORRECTED ON MY JEEP BUT NEXT TO THE GAS TANKS BLOWING UP IN REAR END COLLISIONS THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE ALSO BY A PRIVATE REPAIR SHOP HAD THE "JEEP DEATH WOBBLE CORRECTED" WHICH I HAD NOT HEARD ABOUT UNTIL ANOTHER PERSON AT THE SHOP WHO HAD THE SAME YEAR JEEP SAID I HAD THIS FIXED ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND HE SAID IF I REALLY WANTED TO KNOW HOW BAD IT WAS TO GOOGLE IT AFTER I DID I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO DRIVE MY JEEP. I LOVE MY JEEP FOR MANY OF ITS QUALITIES BUT IF I COULD AFFORD TO I WOULD GO GET A DIFFERENT YEAR JEEP. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT WHEELS WERE POINTING IN TWO DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TUBE THAT CONNECTED THE TIE ROD TO THE FRONT END BY THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WHEELS WAS RUSTED AND FRACTURED. THE DRIVER SEAT BRACKET SNAPPED LOOSE AT THE REAR LEFT SIDE THAT HOLDS THE SEAT TO THE FRAME WHILE DRIVING. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN WHEN I HEARD THE SEAT FRAME BREAK. NOW WHEN DRIVING THE SEAT IS VERY LOOSE AND MAKES A CLICKING NOISE WITH LOTS OF UNSTABLE SEAT MOVEMENTS. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT 45 TO 50 MPH THE FRONT END STARTS TO VIBRIATE AND STARTS TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY,WHAT'S REALLY BAD IS THAT YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN.I DROVE FROM SAVANNAH TO MICHIGAN AND BACK WITH NO PROBLEMS THAN WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT THAN IT HAPPENS ! GASOLINE ODOR/CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE MACHANICALLY CHECKED THE SMELL OF FUEL ON STARTUP WITH WINDOW LOWERED IS OVERPOWERING..THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD THE VEHICLE PLUGGED INTO SERVICE COMPUTER..WAS TOLD TOO CHECK GAS CAP/REPLACE..WHICH I DID..THE GASOLINE ODOR IS STILL PRESENT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON..SO NEW GAS CAP ISNT THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE NO LEAKS ANYWHERE ON THE ENGINE OR AT THE GAS TANK, YET THE SMELL OF FUEL IS STILL PRESENT. NO GAS LINE LEAKS...WE NEED TO MAKE THESE TRUCKS IN AMERICA AGAIN WITH AMERICAN PARTS. HAVE ALWAYS OWNED JEEPS HAVE A 93 SPORT IN MY DRIVEWAY RIGHT NOW, BUT THIS '01 MAY BE MY LAST...LITERALLY.
I AM CONCERNED THAT MY GAS TANK IS A HAZARD IF IN A REAR END COLLISION. MY GAS TANK IS IN THE REAR OF THE JEEP AND IF HIT IN THE BACK WOULD BE THE FIRST THING TO IMPACT. IT LOOKS THE SAME AS THE JEEPS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. BUT I DON'T SEE A RECALL.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO LARSON JEEP DODGE IN PUYALLUP, WA TO HAVE TWO RECALLS PREFORMED. ONE OF THE OPEN RECALL CAMPAIGNS ARE RECALL F25. THIS RECALL INVOLVES REPLACING THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN. IF NOT REPLACED IT COULD SEPARATE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE RADIATOR, ENGINE, OR BODILY INJURY. I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE ON THE DAY THAT IT WAS IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I SIGNED AND WAS GIVING A REPAIR ORDER NUMBER JECS380694 DATED 2/25/2016. THE INVOICE STATES THE RECALL WAS PREFORMED AND THE COOLING FANS WERE REPLACED AS DIRECTED BY THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. ON THE DRIVE BACK TO MY RESIDENCE I NOTED A RATTLE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE WITH INCREASED SPEED OR WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS. WHEN I RETURNED TO MY RESIDENCE I OPENED THE HOOD TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE RATTLE. I NOTICED NONE OF THE UPPER GRILL BOLTS WERE INSTALLED AND THE GRILL WAS LOOSE. I THEN INSPECTED THE LOWER SKID PLATE OF THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED IT WAS LOOSE AND UNFASTENED AS WELL. I THEN INSPECTED THE COOLING FAN BLADES AND FOUND THEY HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED AS DIRECTED BY THE RECALL OR AS STATED ON THE REPAIR ORDER. I HAVE ATTACHED A COPY OF THE REPAIR ORDER AND PICTURES OF THE UNREPAIRED VEHICLE. I HAVE OPENED A CASE WITH DAIMLER CHRYSLER, CASE #28814838. I DID RETURN BACK TO LARSON DODGE 2/26/2016 AND REQUESTED THE HARDWARE BACK TO FASTEN MY GRILL AND SKID PLATE. THE SERVICE MANAGER AND SHOP FOREMAN INSPECTED MY VEHICLE AT THAT TIME. THEY INSPECTED, DETERMINED, AND ADMITTED THE RECALL WAS NOT PREFORMED. I INFORMED THEM I WOULD BE RETURNING HOME AND CONTACTING THE VEHICLES MANUFACTURER.
ON SEPT.2, 2014 I HAD MY 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE TOWED TO THE NEARSEST DEALER, MILFORD CHRYSLER, MILFORD, PA. I WAS DRIVING THE DAY BEFORE WITH FAMILY WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED IN AN ENTRANCE TO A PARKING LOT JUST AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT. MESSAGE CENTER SHOWED KEY NOT DETECTABLE. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS LATER IT TURNED OVER. TO PLAY IT SAFE I RETURNED HOME TO EXCHANGE VEHICLES. IT WAS MAKING HISSING SOUNDS SO I LEFT IT OUT OF THE GARAGE. THE NEXT DAY, IT WAS STILL MAKING NOISES. I CALLED FOR A TOW TO THE DEALER. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY ADVISED ME OF A RECALL BUT THAT THE ENGINEERS WERE STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE WHY BUT THAT THE TIPM WAS MALFUNCTIONING. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT A FINAL RECALL WOULD NOT COME OUT FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS! I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY, FUEL PUMP, TIPM FOR A TOTAL OUT OF POCKET COST OF $2493.98. CHRYSLER EVENTUALLY REIMBURSED ME FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT. ON NOVEMBER 20,2015 I WENT OUT AND FOUND THAT MY BLINKERS DID NOT WORK. IN FACT, WHEN ENGAGED, THE FOG LIGHTS BLINKED AND OR FLASHED. I TOOK IT TO MY ORIGINAL DEALER, R.I. SURESKY IN GOSHEN, NEW YORK. THEY RAN A SCAN AND FOUND THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY THE TIPM ! THIS MAKES TIPM #2!. I CALLED CHRYSLER, THE FINAL VERDICT, IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL (FUEL PUMP RELATED ONLY). THE TECH REPLACED THE TIPM YET AGAIN AT AN OUT OF POCKET COST TO ME OF $1043.40. ON OCTOBER 21, 2016 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT SURESKY'S ON MONDAY OCTOBER 24 TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC ON IT. COULD IT BE TIPM RELATED? WE'LL SEE. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY. IT DID THAT ABOUT EVER FIVE MINUTES. IT HAS DONE THAT SINCE THAT DATE. I TOOK IT TO THE FARICY BOYS JEEP DEALER IN COLORADO SPRINGS, THEY STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WAS NOT WORKING. I ASKED IF THIS WAS A SAFETY ITEM TO BE PAID FOR BY THE MANUFACTURE. HE SAID "NO." HE SAID I HAD TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR IF I WANTED A NEW AIRBAG. I FIND THIS REPLACEMENT COST FOR THIS ITEM STRANGE FOR TWO REASONS. ONE: I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ITEM, AND TWO: AIRBAGS ARE BEING RECALLED FOR A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT CARS AT THIS VERY TIME AND ARE BEING REPLACED AT NO COST.
