WHEN I AM GOING SLOW AND TAKING A TURN I LOSE MY POWER STEERING WHILE I'M TAKING THE TURN. IT HAPPENS QUITE A BIT BUT THEN IT GOES AWAY AFTER I MAKE THE TURN
HELLO, I INVESTIGATE INTO A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT IN FRANCE INVOLVING A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE YEAR 2002. THE REASON OF THE CRASH IS UNKNOWN. THE CAR CROSSED THE ROAD WITHOUT ANY REASON AND CRASHED INTO A WALL (THE DRIVER DIED IN THE CRASH). I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS VEHICLE COULD BE AFFECTED BY INADVERTENT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT . I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO KNOW THE REASON OF ORC DEGRADATION THAT YOU DESCRIBE IN THE REPORT # RQ14001 OF MAY 29, 2014? HOW TO DETECT THE ORC DEFECT AND HOW TO SEE IT? I WOULD TO KNOW IF THE ORC WORKED CORRECTLY OR NOT AND IF THE FRONTAL AIRBAG HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED BEFORE OR AFTER THE CRASH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWERS

WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS A NEW BATTERY AND ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE WORK EXCEPT THE ENGINE. THE HVAC SYSTEM HAS MANY FAULTY ISSUES WHICH DIRECTLY EFFECTS THE ABILITY OF THE DEFROSTER TO OPERATE PROPERLY IF AT ALL . THE BLEND DOORS AS WELL AS THE RECIRCULATING DOOR ARE DEFECTIVE. THE AIR DUCTS DO NOT BLOW EVENLY. THIS CAUSES THE INABILITY OF THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL UNIT TO EFFECTIVELY DEFROST THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.
MY CAR IS SUBJECT TO CHRYSLER RECALL R06, (NHTSA RECALL 15V-046), ISSUED JAN 27 2015 BECAUSE THE AIRBAGS COULD INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING. HOWEVER IT'S NOW 9 MONTHS LATER AND NOTHING HAS BEEN FIXED BECAUSE THE "PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE." CHRYSLER WILL NOT EVEN SUPPLY A FIRM DATE THAT PARTS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE. WHY NOT?

TWO CONCERNS ADDRESSED: FUEL TANK RECALL: WHILE THIS AGENCY HAS COME TO AN AGREEMENT WITH FCA TO 'REMEDY' THE FUEL TANK EXPLODING, I BELIEVE YOUR AGENCY DID NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE CONTRIBUTING FACTOR TO THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURER HAD INSTALLED A PROTECTIVE METAL ENCLOSURE SURROUNDING THE FUEL TANK MODELS FROM 1993 TO 2006. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE TYPE OF METAL USED IS PRONE TO RUSTING OUT THAT A VAST MAJORITY OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE EXPERIENCED WHICH DURING A REAR END COLLISION EXPOSES THE PLASTIC TANK TO CRACK AND EXPLODE. AIR BAG RECALL: AGAIN OWNERS OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES WILL HAVE TO WAIT MANY MONTHS FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS TO BE PRODUCED. THE ORIGINAL RECALL WAITING FOR PARTS, OWNERS HAD TO WAIT 12 MONTHS FOR DEALERSHIP TO OBTAIN PARTS.
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH SOUTH ON INTERSTATE 5 IN CALIFORNIA MY 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT I'VE OWNED FROM NEW SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE JEEP NO LONGER RECOGNIZED THE KEY. THIS HAPPENED IN MODERATE TRAFFIC AROUND 10PM AND WAS ALMOST REARENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER THAT HAD TO MAKE AN ABRUPT MANEUVER TO AVOID ME. THIS WAS THE SAME KEY THAT CAME WITH THE CAR FROM THE FACTORY. THE JEEP HAS 160,000 ACCIDENT FREE MILES AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN MAINTAINED BY JEEP. THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS ON IT AND ALL OTHER RECALLS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.
THIS RECALL HAS BEEN OPEN FOR SOMETIME NOW IS THERE A TIME FRAME THAT PARTS WILL COME AVAILABLE. ???

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE ALL FOUR BALL JOINTS, FRONT STEERING GEAR, ALL FOUR SHOCKS, ALL FOUR TIRES, AND BOTH REAR CONTROL ARMS WAS REPLACED. EVEN AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE CONTACT WAS STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

BLEND DOORS BROKEN CAUSING NO HEAT TO DRIVER SIDE OF THE CABIN. IN WINTER DRIVING, AIR IS SO COLD IT CAUSES NUMBING OF THE DRIVERS FOOT AND LEG WHICH CAUSES DIFFICULTY IN MOVING FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO THE BRAKE. THIS CONDITION OCCURS UNDER ALL CONDITIONS, FROM START UP TO SHUT DOWN. THIS AFFECTS THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO RESPOND TO NECESSARY BRAKING CONDITIONS, ESPECIALLY IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. COST TO REPAIR CONDITION IS IN EXCESS OF $1200.00. RESEARCH IS THAT THIS CONDITION OCCURS TO THE MAJORITY OF VEHICLES WITH THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND WILL REOCCURS MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE VEHICLES LIFETIME.

EVER SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE 2002 GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLE THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE STEERING BECOMES DIFFICULT WHEN APPROACHING A CORNER AND TURNING THE WHEEL.. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. THE STEERING PUMP WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TEARS AGO BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES SPORADICALLY AFTER THE REPLACEMENT IT IS NOW HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY THIS IS A ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN I JUST WISH I WOULD HAVE REPORTED THIS SOONER

I CONTACTED CHRYSLER'S FCA RECALL INFO CENTER AND WAS TOLD THAT MY JEEP, WAS NOT A PART OF THIS RECALL BECAUSE, "YOUR REAR STRUCTURAL REINFORCEMENT IS BETTER THAN THE ONES THAT HAVE THE RECALL", (THE PERSON ON THE PHONE GAVE ME HIS ID #DC1571). I ASKED HIM EXACTLY HOW MY REAR STRUCTURAL REINFORCEMENT IS BETTER AND HE ADMITTED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW. I TOLD HIM MY FACTORY INSTALLED TOW HITCH DID NOT CUT IT AND THAT I WANTED HIM TO EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE IN MY VEHICLE AND THE ONES IN THE RECALL. HE COULD NOT ANSWER AND PROVIDED ME WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE NUMBER SO THAT I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT. INSTEAD I SENT AN EMAIL TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED A RESPONSE WITHIN 24 HOURS. I AM STILL WAITING. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME FOR SURE IF YOUR AGENCY RECOMMENDED THAT THE CATEGORY THAT MY JEEP FALLS INTO,BE RECALLED & MEASURES TAKEN TO SOMEHOW ADDRESS THE ISSUE? I SAW THE TODAY SHOW ON NBC ON MONDAY MORNING AND IT SOUNDED LIKE THERE WOULD BE A SOLUTION AND CHRYSLER WOULD COVER THE COST TO FIX THE VEHICLES OR THEY WOULD HAVE TO OFFER OVER MARKET VALUE ON A TRADE IN FOR A DIFFERENT VEHICLE, OR BUY BACK CERTAIN VEHICLES. CAN YOU PLEASE PROVIDE ME WITH SOME ANSWERS. I COULD NEVER LIVE WITH MYSELF IF MY INACTION CAUSED HARM TO ONE OF MY CHILDREN OR SOMEONE ELSE THAT IS RIDING WITH HIM OR IN AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING THIS VEHICLE.CAN YOU TELL ME HOW MY VEHICLE IS SAFER THAN THE VEHICLES THAT WERE "VOLUNTARILY RECALLED" BY CHRYSLER?
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND NEVER GOES OFF. WAS NEVER SENT ANY RECALLS ON MY JEEP AND ALSO ON THE GAS TANK RECALL NEVER ADVISED . HAVE A PROBLEM ON THE ELECTRICAL REAR LIGHTS
I HAVE NEVER BEEN NOTIFIED ON ANY OF THE RECALLS ON THIS JEEP AFTER LOOKING AT RECALLS AIRBAGS CAN DEPLOY WHEN DRIVING THEN SEE IN THE RECALL THIS EVENING ON THE NEWS.
SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, I HAD RECEIVED A MANUFACTURER SAFETY RISK RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL. I THEN CALLED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER TO REQUEST SERVICE TO FIX MY VEHICLE. NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 15V-046, MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: R06. THEY TOLD ME THAT THESE RECALLED PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT ONCE THEY HAD BECAME AVAILABLE THAT THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME BY EMAIL TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. I HAVE NEVER HEARD FROM THEM SINCE. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AS WELL AS ANY PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE.
