THE SEAT BRACKET ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS BROKEN. I RESEARCHED THIS AND THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH COMPANIES ACTUALLY MANUFACTURING THICKER AFTERMARKET BRACKETS DUE TO THE DEMAND FOR THE PRODUCT.

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, LIFTED THE HOOD, AND DISCOVERED THAT THE COOLANT FAN WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLANT AND RADIATOR FAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
RE NHTSA CASE [XXX]: NHTSA REFERRED ME TO FCA TODAY ABOUT RECALL NOTICE R06. FCA HAD MAILED A IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE (R06) IN FEB INDICATING THEY WOULD WRITE LATER REGARDING WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. FCA'S AMANDA AQ070 INDICATED TODAY THE REMEDY STILL IS BEING RESEARCHED. THIS MAY NOW. THE FEB NOTICE INDICATED THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND "EVERY EFFORT WOULD BE MADE TO OBTAIN THESE PARTS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE" AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE". IT APPEARS THEN THAT FCA HAS COMPLETELY MISLED ME BY INDICATING IN THE FEBRUARY LETTER THAT A PERMANENT REMEDY REQUIRES PARTS AND THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE. HOW COULD THEY MAKE EFFORTS TO OBTAIN PARTS IF THE REMEDY IS STILL BEING RESEARCHED? I HAVE RECEIVED NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER FROM FCA ABOUT ANY PARTS TO REMEDY THE R06 RECALL. I READ IN THE NEWSPAPER RECENTLY THAT FCA HAS BEEN VERY SLOW TO REMEDY PAST RECALLS. THE TRUCK STILL WASN'T RUNNING RIGHT IT WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP 700 DOLLARS . THE TRUCK STILL DOSE NOT RUN RIGHT IVE HAD BRAKE LINES REPLACED THAT BROKE WITH NO IMPACT OR ACCIDENT IVE BEEN TOLD THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDS REPLACED THERE IS NO BRAKE PRESSURE MY WIRING IS MESSED UP AND NOW BOTH MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE OUT IVE CHECKED FUSES AND BULBS THE TRUCK TAKES SEVERAL TRIES TO START IT ITS IN THE SHOP MORE THAN I DRIVE IT ITS DANGEROUS AND I NEVER KNOW IF ITS GOING TO STOP IN TRAFFIC OR IF PEOPLE BEHIND ME KNOW WHEN IM TRYING TO STOP I HAVE 6 KIDS I DRIVE TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY AND I WORRY ABOUT THEIR LIVES EVERY TIME WE HAVE TO GET IN THE JEEP I FEEL LIKE BUYING THIS VEHICLE WAS A HUGE MISTAKE

AT TWO OCCASIONS THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AS IF THE GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK. THE ACCELERATOR WAS NOT OBSTRUCTED BY ANY CARPET. THE ONLY WAY TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN WAS BY PLACING IT INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER TURNING IT BACK ON IT WAS STILL AT HIGH RPM ~5000. SOME TIME LATER THE PROBLEM RESOLVED IT SELF. AFTER MANY DAYS AT THE JEEP DEALER THE FINAL DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE ISSUE CANNOT BE DUPLICATED AND THAT THE DEALER REFUSES TO DO ANY WORK ON THIS CAR. *TR
