THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM HAS BEEN MAKING IRREGULAR NOISES. THEN TODAY IT GOT STUCK AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS ONLY BLOWING HOT AND THE DRIVER WAS STILL ADJUSTABLE.*TR
HAVING TROUBLE WITH AC- HAD VALVE REPLACED, THE NEXT DAY AIR STOPPED COMING OUT OF THE VENTS. TOOK BACK TO SHOP AND HAD TO HAVE THE BLEND DOOR REPLACED. HAVE RESEARCHED ON-LINE AND THIS IS A VERY COMMON & EXPENSIVE PROBLEM. *TR
THE AIR CONTROL SYSTEM IN THE 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IS FAULTY AND FAILS. THEY ALREADY HAVE A FIX FOR THIS KNOWN FAULTY SYSTEM BUT THE REPAIR DOES NOT FIX THE SOLUTION, IT ONLY DELAYS IT TILL IT BREAKS AGAIN. SOME AFTERMARKET COMPANIES ARE MAKING LOTS OF MONEY OFF OF PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM PERMANENTLY. THE COMPANY SHOULD MAKE THE PERMANENT REPAIR A RECALL AS THE SYSTEM CAN FAIL AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME AND CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS WHEN THE WINDSHIELD CAN FOG UP AND THE DEFROSTER WILL NOT WORK. THE SYSTEM CAN ALSO FAIL SUCH THAT THE PARTS CAN FALL INTO THE FAN MOTOR AND CAUSE IT TO OVERHEAT POSSIBLY CAUSING A FIRE. THESE VEHICLES ARE FREQUENTLY USED BY FAMILIES BECAUSE OF THEIR SIZE AND STEPS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ONCE AND FOR ALL. *TR
CAR STALLS WHILE RUNNING. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY ON LOW GEAR BUT ALSO HAS HAPPENED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS A SERIOUS HAZARD TO THE EXTENT I DO NOT WANT MY CHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE. DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AS I SEE ON THE WEB MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN EXPLOSION UNDERNEATH THE HOOD AND OBSERVED PLASTIC PARTICLES COMING FROM HIS VEHICLE. HE PULLED OVER, LIFTED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE RADIATOR AND THE COOLING FAN DISINTEGRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT HE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND THE COOLING FAN. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE SAME DAY. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER IN REGARDS TO SUBMITTING CLAIMS FOR REIMBURSEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WOULD BE NO REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,020. TURNED ON MY HEATER IN THE MOUNTAINS AND ONLY COLD AIR BLEW OUT. DID SOME RESEARCH AND SEEM TO BE A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH ALL JEEP CHEROKEES 1998 - 2003. *TR
I HAVE A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND ON JULY 3, 2008, I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND WHEN I STOPPED AT A CONVENIENCE STORE, MY NEPHEW WHO WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER REAR GOT OUT ALSO AND AS WE STARTED TO WALK TOWARDS THE STORE WE HEARD A POP AND WE LOOKED AROUND THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW WAS DOWN WHICH WAS ODD BECAUSE I LIVE IN ARIZONA AND ON THAT DAY IT WAS 117 DEGREES OUTSIDE. I TRIED TO PUT THE WINDOW UP AND IT WOULD NOT GO UP. AFTER CALLING THE DEALER I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE WINDOW REGULATOR, I DID RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON JEEPS AND DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS HAD MANY COMPLAINTS BY CONSUMERS MENTIONED ON THE DISCUSSION BOARDS AND NO RESOLUTION TO CURE THIS PROBLEM WITH THE WINDOW REGULATORS. IT COST $400 FOR THE REPAIR OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR. *TR
I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AT A 4-WAY STOP SIGN. EACH TIME THE VAN IN FRONT OF ME MOVED FORWARD, I WOULD LET OFF THE BRAKE TO DRIFT FORWARD A FEW FEET, AND THEN RE-ENGAGE THE BRAKE TO STOP. WHEN THE VAN THAT WAS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME MOVED FORWARD TO TAKE ITS TURN AT THE STOP SIGN, I AGAIN LET OFF THE BRAKE TO DRIFT FORWARD & THEN RE-ENGAGED THE BRAKE. HOWEVER, MY 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S ENGINE REVVED/IDLED HIGH & IT LURCHED FORWARD. I SMASHED THE BRAKE TO THE FLOOR, BUT THE JEEP LURCHED FORWARD A 2ND TIME. I LIFTED MY FOOT FOR A SPLIT-SECOND & AGAIN PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS I COULD, BUT THE JEEP LURCHED FORWARD A 3RD TIME & HIT THE VAN IN FRONT OF ME. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME & FELT THE JEEP LURCHING/JUMPING FORWARD AS WELL. NOT TO MENTION, SHE HEARD ME SAYING THAT I COULDN'T GET THE JEEP TO STOP. I AM CERTAIN I WAS NOT PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR SIMULTANEOUSLY BECAUSE MY FOOT WAS FIRMLY/SOLIDLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE GAS, I WOULD HAVE HIT THE VAN MUCH HARDER/FASTER. NOW, I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING FOR THE DAMAGES DONE TO THE VAN, AS WELL AS PAYING FOR HIGHER INSURANCE PREMIUMS. THE TRUTH IS, I AM NOT AT FAULT; THE JEEP IS.

AC/HEAT FAN STOPPED WORKING. SOMEONE MENTIONED THE BLEND DOOR ASSYM. A $1200 REPAIR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS WAS REPAIRED. VEHICLE IS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND SHUT OFF, IT BEGAN TO ROLL OUT OFF THE CONTACT'S DRIVEWAY AND ONTO A HILLSIDE FIELD. THE VEHICLE TRAVELED DOWN THE HILLSIDE AND INTO A LAKE, WHERE IT STRUCK SEVERAL LARGE ROCKS IN A SHALLOW PORTION OF THE WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCES IN THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 68,000.
HEATER OR DEFROST DOES NOT WORK RIGHT BECAUSE OF A BLEND DOOR FAILURE AND IS VERY UNSAFE. UPON CHECKING AROUND HOW TO FIX I RAN ACROSS THOUSANDS OF OTHERS HAVING SAME PROBLEM AND COSTING THEM $1200-$1900 TO GET FIXED AND IT SHOULD BE A RECALL TO GET REPAIRED. 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FRONT DRIVER SEAT BROKE THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS BROKE IT BROKE RIGHT AT THE BOLTS THAT HOLD IT DOWN FIRST TIME IT WAS WELDED BUT IT BROKE AGAIN WELDING THIS SEAT JUST DOES NOT FIX IT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, IN COLD CONDITIONS, I FOUND THAT THE AC/HEATER OUTPUT WAS INSUFFICIENT TO KEEP THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTED AND DEFOGGED, RESULTING IN EXTREMELY UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE FAN WORKS, BUT NO AIR COMES OUT. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT IT IS DUE TO A BLEND-DOOR DEFECT, COMMON TO THAT MODEL/YEAR JEEP. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROX. 72,000 MILES ON IT. I CAN'T SAFELY DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN COLD CONDITIONS UNTIL THIS IS FIXED. THIS REPAIR IS ESTIMATED TO BE BETWEEN $900 -$1200. IF THIS IS SUCH A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ISN'T A RECALL BY DEIMLER-CHRYSLER TO REPAIR THIS. HOW MANY DEATHS WILL IT TAKE BEFORE THIS GETS THE TRUE ATTENTION IT DESERVES? *TR
MY 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LTD IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DEFROSTER, THE HEATER, AND AIR CONDITIONER. IT HAS DRIVER AND PASSENGER CLIMATE CONTROLS. INITIALLY, THE PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED FUNCTIONING. EVENTUALLY, THE DRIVER SIDE HEAT AND AIR STOPPED WORKING. THE DEFROSTER IS BARELY WORKING AND ONLY ON THE FAN CONTROL. *TR
MY FRONT DRIVER SEAT BRACKET HAS SNAPPED IN 4 SPOTS. THIS NOW LEAVES MY FRONT SEAT VERY UN-SECURE TO THE VEHICLE AND IS VERY SHIFTY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL AS THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME MODEL JEEP AS MINE. THE SEAT BRACKETS AND MOUNTS ARE OF POOR QUALITY AND BREAK EASILY. AS RESULT OF THIS, MY SEAT BELT IS USELESS BECAUSE IF I DON'T HAVE A SEAT THAT IS SECURED TO THE VEHICLE, WHAT GOOD WILL A SEAT BELT DO IN A COLLISION? CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM YET ARE DOING NOTHING ABOUT THIS. THEY BEG FOR OUR TAX DOLLARS TO BAIL THEM OUT OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP BUT YET THEY WONT HELP CONSUMERS THAT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS WITH REAL SAFETY CONCERNS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND IT STALLED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 106,000. UPDATED 4/16/08 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED APPLYING THE GAS PEDAL DOES NOT HELP THE VEHICLE MOVE. THE VEHICLE JERKS AND THE GAUGES MOVE AROUND. THE CAM SENSOR, CRANK SENSOR AND FUEL FILTER HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED TO NO AVAIL. UPDATED
VISIBILITY: DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER SYSTEM:WINDSHIELD:BLOWER LOSS OF HALF OF THE HEATER CONTROL AND ABILITY TO REGULATE THE TEMPERATURE. AFTER PHONE CALLS TO REPAIR SHOPS, I WAS TOLD TO EXPECT THE REST OF IT TO STOP WORKING IF NOT CORRECTED SOON, AS THIS IS A 'COMMON" PROBLEM WITH 1999-2004 GRAND CHEROKEES. ESTIMATES WERE IN EXCESS OF $1,000.00. LOOSING THE ABILITY TO REGULATE THE TEMPERATURE TO DEFROST WINDOWS IN WINTER(WISCONSIN) AND NOT BEING ABLE TO KEEP MY THREE YEAR OLD SON WARM IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR ME AND SHOULD BE FOR THE MANUFACTURER. A TSB WAS ISSUED ON 01/20/04 FOR THESE ISSUES, AND IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE THE RESPECTIVE SUB-ASSEMBLY IF ANY PARTS WERE TO BE REPLACED. THEY KNEW OF THE ISSUE AND NOTHING WAS DONE. HOPE TO FIND A DEALER TO HELP ME WITH THIS SO WE CAN HAVE HEAT AGAIN. HOPING TO NOT HAVE THE SAME POOR SERVICE THAT I RECEIVED WHEN I HAD TO FIX THE POWER STEERING, TSB'S ON THAT, NO INFO FROM THE DEALER ON THAT WHEN ASKED, ALONG WITH BEING QUOTED FOR THE WRONG PARTS. *TR

PASSENGER SIDE OF CAR BLOWS COLD AIR FROM ALL VENTS, INCLUDING THE DEFROSTER VENT. THIS IS DUE TO A BROKEN BLEND DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS MOST CERTAINLY A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO THE FACT THAT I CAN ONLY SEE OUT OF HALF OF MY WINDSHIELD WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE. THOUSANDS ARE HAVING THIS SAME "DESIGN FLAW" PROBLEM WHILE CHRYSLER SITS BY AND DOES NOTHING. THE COST TO FIX THIS COMMON PROBLEM IS ~$1000. IF CHRYSLER IS AWARE THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW, YET CONTINUES TO IGNORE THE SAFETY ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH IT, THEN WE HAVE A MAJOR LACK OF CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY. *TR

AC (AIR CONDITIONING IS ALSO FAILING) RECEIVING THESE CODES: 52...........................AI (RECIRC) DOOR TRAVEL TOO LARGE 54...........................LEFT TEMPERATURE DOOR TRAVEL TOO LARGE THE PROBLEM WITH THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED IS A DESIGN PROBLEM. THE SYSTEM USES A STEPPER MOTOR THAT DETECTS THE EXTENTS OF MOVEMENT BY HITTING A RESISTANCE POINT AT THE OPEN AND CLOSE POINT. THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED WITH A SMALL PLASTIC PIN ON THE DOOR CONNECTION PIN THAT BREAKS OVER TIME. WHEN THE PIN BREAKS, THE RESISTANCE POINT OCCURS WHEN THE DOOR HITS THE EXTENTS OF THE OPEN AND CLOSE POSITION. THE DOOR IS NOT DESIGNED TO HANDLE THIS FORCE AND EVENTUALLY THE DOOR ITSELF ACTUALLY BREAKS. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE CURRENTLY IN -3 CELSIUS WEATHER IN MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, CANADA. I WILL BE TAKING MY 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IN FOR WARRANTY SERVICE. IF THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY I AM LOOKING AT A BILL TO FIX BETWEEN $300-$1500 CANADIAN. AFTER GOING TO DEALERSHIP WITH WARRANTY CLAIM WILL CALL 1-800# AND PROVIDE DETAILS FROM DEALERSHIP VISIT. THIS CAN BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY DEFECT SINCE COULD AFFECT DEFROSTING OF WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING. ALSO VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO DRIVE WITH NO HEAT (IN WINTER) AND NO AC (IN SUMMER) PLEASE RESPOND TO MY COMPLAINT ASAP. PARTS REPLACED: 05012743 HOUSING 24-028-025 05134353 HOUSING 24-028-025 TOTAL PARTS AND LABOR $473.27 PLEASE FOLLOWUP WITH CHRYSLER WHY THIS IS A NOT A RECALL. JEEP IS NOT DRIVABLE IN THIS CONDITION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. HE EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY STARTING THE VEHICLE AFTER ITS BEEN TURNED OFF FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS ARE NOT RECEIVING SUFFICIENT LEVELS OF FUEL. HE REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER AND REGULATOR; HOWEVER, IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE REPAIR HE EXPERIENCED AN IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

RESEARCH HAS SHOWN ALL 1999-2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES WITH ELECTRONIC DUAL CLIMATE CONTROLS (AC) WILL EVENTUALLY REQUIRE MAJOR REPAIR IN ORDER TO CURE HOT AIR/COLD AIR BLOWING FROM VENTS WHEN THEY'RE NOT SET TO DO SO. THE COST TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE, WHICH HAS BEEN KNOWN TO POP UP AGAIN AFTER ANOTHER 50K MILES AFTER REPAIR, IS GENERALLY $800-$1500 FROM A DEALERSHIP. MY JEEP HAS THIS ISSUE AND IT IS CAUSED BY POOR DESIGN FROM CRYSLER, THEY USE CHEAP PLASTIC PARTS. *CN
I HAVE A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED AND I AM HAVING SEVERAL ISSUES. FIRST THE SEAT WARMER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE QUIT WORKING. THEN THE HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED WORKING. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP AND WITHIN 2 WEEKS AFTERWARDS THE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE. I HAD THE WINDOW UP AND WHEN I GOT HOME I WAS WONDERING WHY I COULD HEAR WIND ON THE WAY HOME AND I OPENED UP THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR AND THE WINDOW FELL ON ME. I CALLED AROUND AND HAD IT LOOKED AT TO MAKE SURE I KNEW WHAT IT WAS. I HAD MY PERSONAL MECHANIC TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND HE SAID THE SAME THING THAT THE CHRYSLER DEALER SAID THAT IT WAS THE WINDOW REGULATOR. I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO IT BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO GET THIS HUNK OF JUNK FIXED AND I FOUND OUT THAT THIS JEEP WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND REPAIRED BY CHRYSLER AT A DEALERSHIP AND ON THE SAME SIDE THAT THEY HAD TO WORK ON THIS HAPPENS AND THEY WON'T COVER THE COST PSSSH. OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE HURTING AMERICAN WORKER. *TR
COLD AIR STARTED TO COME OUT OF HEATER VENTS ON DRIVER'S SIDE EVEN THOUGH HEATER WAS SET ON HEAT. THIS HAPPENED ON A JOURNEY IN A ICE STORM. THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY JEEP WAS BLOWING COLD AIR. I TOOK MY JEEP TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TEMP DOOR AND FRESH AIR DOORS WERE BROKEN. HE ALSO STATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MY JEEP. ALSO, THE DRIVERS SIDE HEATED SEAT WAS VERY HOT WHEN IT WAS ON THE LOW SETTING. THEY FOUND THAT THE HEATER GRID HAD A SHORT IN THE CIRCUIT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO 85 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, CANCELLED THE SPEED CONTROL, AND DISCONNECTED THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON. THE VEHICLE DID NOT DECELERATE AND THE CONTACT PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. HE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND IT OPERATED NORMALLY. HE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR AND CRANK VACUUM HOSE WERE REPLACED AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BACK AT THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, FUEL SYSTEM, NUMBER OF CYLINDERS WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,800.
ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT, I WAS DRIVING MY '03 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND IN A MODERATE-TO-DENSE FOG AROUND 11:00 PM. THE HEATER HAD NOT BEEN WORKING FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, SO I WAS USING THE HEATED SEATS WHENEVER IT WAS COLD OUT. SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND LOSS OF BRAKING WHILE DRIVING IN PARKING LOTS. WHEN DRIVING AT SLOW SPEED IN PARKING LOT, TURNED RIGHT TO PULL INTO PARKING SPACE. GAVE ACCELERATOR A SLIGHT PUSH TO GIVE CHEROKEE ENOUGH GAS TO MOVE INTO UPHILL PARKING STALL. QUICKLY MOVED FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE PEDAL, WHEN CAR MOTOR REVVED, SPEED INCREASED AND FRONT END OF CAR HIT CONCRETE RETAINING WALL. BRAKING UNABLE TO STOP OR SLOW THE CAR BEFORE IMPACT. SECOND INCIDENT ON 11/12/2011 WITH APPROXIMATELY 78,000 MILES DRIVEN WHEN DRIVING AT SLOW SPEED THROUGH PARKING LOT, TURNING RIGHT TO DRIVE DOWN PARKING LANE, PLACED FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW EVEN MORE TO MOVE FURTHER TO RIGHT SIDE OF LANE TO AVOID ONCOMING CAR. WITH SIDE OF FOOT, FELT ACCELERATOR PEDAL DROP AWAY CAUSING MOTOR TO REV, SPEED TO INCREASE. LEFT FRONT BUMPER HIT LEFT FENDER OF ONCOMING CAR AND RIGHT FRONT FENDER HIT BACK BUMPER OF PARKED TRUCK. DESPITE PRESSING ON BRAKE AS HARD AS POSSIBLE, CAR FAILED TO SLOW AND STOPPED ONLY ON IMPACT WITH TRUCK. ALMOST AS IF BRAKE WAS OVERRIDDEN BY ACCELERATION. TWO INCIDENTS HAPPENED IN SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES: COLD PRECIPITATING WEATHER; CAR HEATER ON; DRIVING AT SLOW SPEED IN PARKING LOT; PAVEMENT WET; MAKING RIGHT HAND TURN; WITH BRAKING, CAR BEGINS ACCELERATING UNEXPECTEDLY; ACCELERATION OVERRIDES BRAKE; BRAKE FAILS TO SLOW OR STOP CAR; CAR STOPS ONLY ON IMPACT. *TR

I BOUGHT THE 2003 JEEP IN MARCH OF 2007 WITH 19,000 MILES. IT WAS CERTIFIED THAT EVERYTHING WORKED CORRECTLY. I AM THE SOLE DRIVER AND RARELY HAVE A PASSENGER ADDITIONALLY, MY WIFE AND I USED TO COMMUTE WITH OUR OTHER VEHICLE(HONDA) UNTIL HER SCHEDULE CHANGED. THEREFORE, WE NEVER TESTED THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAT. NOW, IT DOES NOT WORK AND EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAS ONLY 22,000 MILES, JEEP SAYS THEY WILL NOT FIX. I DON'T BELIEVE IT WORKED FROM THE START AND I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I SPOKE TO THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER AND BOTH WERE RUDE AND UNHELPFUL. THEY SAY WE SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. DOES EVERYTHING REQUIRE AND EXTENDED WARRANTY? CAN'T WE EXPECT SOMEONE LEVEL OF QUALITY WITH HAVING TO BUY MORE WARRANTY?
