TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS, STEREO, AND ALL FOUR POWER WINDOWS FAILED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT ALL FOUR DOORS FAILED TO LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STARTED IMMEDIATELY AND IF SO, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 185,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY SEAT SUDDENLY MOVED FORWARD AND TO THE RIGHT. WHAT I FOUND WAS THAT THE SEAT BRACKET BROKE CAUSING THE SEAT TO MOVE. AFTER LOOKING ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT AFFECTS YOUR DRIVING POSITION AND IN MY CASE BROKE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IN ADDITION, AS YOU GO AROUND CORNERS YOU NOW MOVE/SLIDE IN THE SEAT AS IT IS NO LONGER LEVEL. *TR
STEERING LOSING POWER WHEN TURNING RIGHT, ACCOMPANIED BY A WHINE AND SOUNDS OF PRESSURE LOSS. NO LEAKS IN POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSES, NO LEAKS IN GEAR BOX (GEAR BOX WAS DRY), NO LEAKS IN ANY OTHER RELEVANT PARTS WITHIN THE STEERING SYSTEM. PROBLEM WAS INVESTIGATED BY AAA AND PEPBOYS. POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACED AND FLUSHED ON 6-JAN-12. THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING PROBLEM IS STILL PERSISTING, AND IS WORSE NOW WITH A NEW PUMP AND CLEAN PUMP SYSTEM. PEPBOYS NATIONAL RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITHIN THE GEARBOX, SPACER CLIP MOVING OUT OF POSITION WHEN TURNING RIGHT CUTTING OFF POWER TO THE STEERING SYSTEM, AND MOVING BACK INTO POSITION WHEN TURNING LEFT RESTORING POWER TO THE STEERING SYSTEM. CHRYSLER HAS A TSB REPORTED MARCH 4, 2003 FOR THIS EXACT FAILURE. CHRYSLER CLAIMS THIS VEHICLE'S VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S TSB, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V079000. CASE HAS BEEN OPENED WITH CHRYSLER - CASE #: 21743619. I CANNOT STEER THIS VEHICLE AT ALL WITHOUT THE ASSIST OF POWER STEERING. EXTREMELY CONCERNED WITH THE POTENTIAL DANGER OF LOSING POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING CAUSING A CRASH, FLIPPING, AND POTENTIAL SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH. *TR

THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE BOTH NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE FAILURE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 02V099000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE CONTACT APPLIED STEADY, CONSIST PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,200.
THE MAIN METAL FRAME OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT HAS BROKEN. DRIVERS SEAT HAS A ROCKING MOTION AND WILL MOST LIKELY NOT HOLD UP TO A REAR END COLLISION AT ANY SPEEDS. *TR

ACCORDING TO JEEP, THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL, YET ACCORDING TO VLANE.COM, CARSURVEY.ORG, ABOUTVEHICLE.COM AND OTHER SUCH INTERNET SOURCES, THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THERE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS. *KB
DUAL CLIMATE CONTROL DOOR FAILURE. PLASTIC DOOR HINGES BREAK, FAULTY DESIGN, SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH ALUMINUM OR OTHER METALLIC PIECES. ALL OF THE 1996 - 2001 JEEPS DUAL CLIMATE DOORS BREAK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HORN BECAME INOPERABLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A CLOCK SPRING DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,000.

WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BRACKET SNAPPED AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT BECAME WOBBLY AS I DROVE. UNABLE TO GET A SAFETY INSPECTION STICKER IN MASSACHUSETTS UNTIL THE SEAT FRAME IS REPAIRED/REPLACED. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH 2004 GRAND CHEROKEE. IT HAS OCCURRED TWICE WITH A 2003 GRAND CHEROKEE I OWN ALSO. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THIS CONDITION. *TR
FRONT PASSENGER POWER SEAT MOUNTING BRACKET AND SEAT MAIN FRAME BOTH HAVE SPLIT LOSE, CAUSING SEAT TO WOBBLE DANGEROUSLY ABOUT. POSSIBLE CONTINUED BREAKAGE OF OTHER COMPONENTS IMMANENT. CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH DUE TO SEAT BREAKING LOSE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE MASS TURNPIKE AND ALL INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES STOPPED REGISTERING, ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS STARTING BLINKING, CD PLAYER STOPPED WORKING, AND AC STOPPED. WE SHUT OFF THE AC, HEADLIGHTS AND RADIO WITHIN 10 MINUTES EVERYTHING SEEMED TO RESET BUT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW BECAME STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE WINDOW BY TAKING APART THE DOOR PANEL AND NOTICE THE WIRING TO THE REGULATOR WAS DAMAGED CAUSING THE ENTIRE REGULATOR TO MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE REGULATOR AND THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE CONTACT STATED THE REGULATOR MALFUNCTIONING WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HER YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
DRIVERS DOOR LOCK BUTTON WOULD NOT WORK, ROLLING LOCKS IN-OPERABLE NO WINDOWS WORK WITH DRIVERS DOOR OPEN WHILE IN PARK OR ANY DOOR OPEN DOME LIGHT WOULD NOT TIME OUT UNLESS VEHICLE RUNNING DRIVERS DOOR CLOSED AND EXIT PASSENGER DOOR AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF. TOOK TO DEALER AFTER WE HAD REPLACED THE SWITCH UNIT AND LATCH TO THE DRIVERS DOOR, DEALER FOUND A BROKEN WIRE IN DRIVERS DOOR JAM. *TR
2004 GRAND CHEROKEE SPECIAL EDITION. STICKING GAS PEDAL, BOTH ACCELERATION AND TO ACCELERATE. TODAY MY GAS PEDAL STUCK WIDE OPEN FULL THROTTLE. I HAD TO PRESS AS HARD AS POSSIBLE ON BRAKES ... CAR DIS NOT COMPLETELY STOP UNTIL I THREW THE MOVING VEHICLE INTO PARK AND TURN THE KEY OFF. IT REMAINED STUCK WIDE OPEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES AND THEN UNSTUCK. I HAD 4 CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED ON AN EMPTY WIDE OPEN ROAD. THIS COULD GAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHIC EVENT WITH MANY INJURIES. *TR
DRIVER SIDE SEAT BROKE OFF AT FRAME. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A SOLUTION BY JEEP TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. THERE ARE NO PARTS EITHER NEW OR USED AVAILABLE TO MAKE REPAIRS. WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. *KB
WINDOW DROPPED WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WOULD NO LONGER ROLL UP....PULLED IT UP AND TAPED IT.....TOOK TO JEEP DEALERSHIP.....TOTAL COST TO REPAIR IS $650.00..... SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED 4 YEARS AGO, BUT VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY AT THAT TIME. I GUESS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO JEEPS. MINE IS A 2004. A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE ON THIS PLASTIC CLIP FAULT!!!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE CRASHED AND FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE AND MAILBOX. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACTS SUSTAINED MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR A CUT ON HER HEAD, SCRAPES, KNEE BRUISES, AND BRUISES ACROSS THE CHEST FROM THE SEAT BELT. THE OTHER PASSENGER SUSTAINED CUTS ON THE HANDS AND FACE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SUDDEN AND UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION: APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION TO STOP, I HAD TAKEN MY FOOT COMPLETELY OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND HAD THE BRAKE COVERED. AS THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SURGED (5000RPM +) AND LURCHED FORWARD UNCONTROLLABLY INTO THE INTERSECTION. THE BRAKES DID NOT STOP IT OR RESTRAIN IT. I IMMEDIATELY HIT THE SHIFT HANDLE INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF IN ORDER TO REGAIN CONTROL. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. IT REVVED, THEN IDLED, ALBEIT ROUGHLY (IDLE RANGING FROM 900RMP TO 1400RPM). THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA... BUT IT DID SHAKE ME UP. IF IT HAD HAPPENED TO A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER SOMEONE MAY HAVE BEEN BADLY HURT OR KILLED. *TT

THE CONTACT HAS NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION AND THEY STATED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,500.
2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE RAN THE DAY BEFORE, AFTER IT RAINED THAT NIGHT THE NEXT MORNING THE CAR WILL NOT START, REMOTE STARTED TO WORK NO SOUND, LIGHTS WOULD GO OFF & ON, AFTER LOCATING THE HARNESS BOOT BETWEEN THE DRIVERS DOOR NEGATIVE WIRING FATIGUES AND BREAKS, HEARD CLICKING SOUNDS WHEN BOOT WAS TOUCHED. NOW NOTHING WORKS. CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOR OTHER MAJOR ISSUES, PCM, TPS, SENOIDS, BARRONS ETC. THIS IS A DEFECT & CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FACE UP TO CORRECTING THEIR FAULTY WIRING, AND NOT LEAVE IT UP TO THE CONSUMER TO FIX ON THERE OWN, WERE ARE NOT MECHANICS, FROM READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB, IT MAKES ME WONDER WHY JEEP IS STILL IN BUSINESS, GREAT BODIES BUT NO PEEP INSIDE, ALL THE WIRING IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HARNESS IS RIDICULOUS & IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN FOR THE CONSUMER. THESE WIRES SHOULD NEVER BEEN BUNCHED TOGETHER WHICH IS ALLOWING FRICTION WHEN OPENING & CLOSING THE DOOR CAUSING BURN OUTS & SHORTS WITH THE WIRING "SHAME ON YOU CHRYSLER." *TR
DRIVERS SIDE SEAT MOUNTING BRACKET BROKE ON ENTRY TO VEHICLE. THIS CAUSED THE SEAT TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING ESPECIALLY DURING TURNS. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE SEAT TRACK WAS ALSO BROKEN. THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND A REPLACEMENT TRACK SO FAR BECAUSE JEEP NO LONGER MAKES THE PART. I WAS TOLD THAT IT CAN'T BE WELDED BECAUSE OF LIABILITY ISSUES. THEY ESTIMATE THE COST TO REPAIR AT $300+ IF THE PART CAN BE FOUND. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE LATELY AND I'M FORCED TO PAY FOR A DESIGN DEFECT. *TR
INCREASED STEERING EFFORT, STEERING STUTTERING/BINDING- STEERING IS DIFFICULT WHEN TURNING AT LOW SPEED- OCCURS ALL THE TIME. REPLACED POWER STEERING GEAR, REBUILT 278414/NATL[R]. *TR
2004 JEEP OVERLAND DUEL CLIMATE CONTROL NOT OPERATING PROPERLY *TR
FRONT SEAT BRACKETS SHEARED OFF, SEAT UNSTABLE AND WILL TILT BACKWARDS. WAS TOLD BY A CERTIFIED WELDER / WELDING INSPECTOR THAT IT COULD NOT BE WELDED, AND THAT THE BRACKET WAS A DEFECTIVE, SUB-STANDARD, AND UNREPAIRABLE. *TR
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS BECAUSE OF A DEFECT. IT HAS COST ME OVER $1200.00 FOR ALL 4 TO BE REPLACED OVER TIME. IT SEEMS STRANGE TO ME THAT ALL 4 HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THE PART COST OVER $325.00 JUST FOR THE PARTS NOT COUNTING THE LABOR . THE WINDOW JUST SUDDENLY FALLS DOWN AND WILL NOT STAY ROLLED UP. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND IT HAS BEEN TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF. I WOULD LIKE TO BE RE-IMBURSED FOR ALL OF MY EXPENSED CONSIDERING THIS CANNOT BE A FLUKE SINCE ALL 4 HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND NO ONE EVER SITS IN THE BACK SO IT HAS NOT BEEN WORN OUT FROM USE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER SAID THIS IS JUST AND ISSUE WITH JEEPS AND THEY ALWAYS KEEP A LARGE AMOUNT OF REGULATORS ON HAND. I THINK THIS IS JUST A WAY FOR JEEP TO MAKE MONEY ON PARTS AND THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE SINCE THE PARTS ARE JUST A PIECE OF PLASTIC AND COST OVER 300.00 PER WINDOW AND WE HAVE TO HAVE OUR WINDOWS FIXED. I WOULD LIKE TO BE CONTACTED TO SEE IF I CAN PURSUE A CLAIM TO BE RE-IMBURSED FROM JEEP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE GEAR BOX WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 03V079000 (STEERING:GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION)) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I WAS BACKING MY 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WHEN I HEARD A SNAP AND THEN THE FRONT SEAT STARTED WOBBLING BACK AND FORTH. I PULLED BACK INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THAT'S WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I NOTICED THE METAL THAT CONNECTS THE DRIVER'S SEAT HAD COMPLETELY SNAPPED. IT WAS A BLESSING THAT I WAS NOT TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED OR WAS FAR FROM HOME, I WOULD HATE TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND UNCOMMANDED THROTTLE PEDAL MOVEMENT. CAR WAS IN DRIVE AT A STANDSTILL ON A SLIGHT GRADE, DRY PAVEMENT. THROTTLE TOOK OFF UNCOMMANDED. DRIVERS FOOT CENTERED ON BRAKE PEDAL. DRIVER NOTICED THROTTLE PEDAL WAS MOVING UNCOMMANDED. PEDAL APPEARED DEPRESSED ABOUT AN INCH THEN RETURNED TO IDLE POSITION THEN BACK DOWN ABOUT AN INCH. AFTER A FEW SECONDS THROTTLE PEDAL RETURNED TO IDLE POSITION. BRAKE HELD BACK ANY VEHICLE MOVEMENT DURING EPISODE. CRUISE CONTROL WAS OFF. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THIS ISSUE OCCURRED. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE DEFECT. *TR
PLASTIC SURROUNDING DOOR HANDLES CRACKED. FIRST INCIDENT WAS ON RIGHT REAR DOOR. I ASSUMED MY CHILD WAS PLAYING ROUGHLY. SOON AFTER A SIMILAR CRACK APPEARED IN THE FRONT DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. NEXT CAME THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND NOW ALL FOUR DOOR PANELS HAVE CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC SURROUNDING THE DOOR HANDLES. THE LEFT REAR DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE AND THE RIGHT REAR DOOR DOES NOT OPEN CONSISTENTLY. I EXPECT IT TO FAIL COMPLETELY SOON. WHILE REVIEWING JEEP MESSAGE BOARDS I FOUND A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH 2005-2010 JEEPS HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR FAILURES. MY DEALER, BOB BAKER JEEP IN CARLSBAD CA, SAYS THE DOORS ARE NOT COVERED AND SUGGESTED REPLACING THE ENTIRE PANEL ON EACH DOOR.
I HAVE REPLACED THE REAR PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT MULTIPLE TIMES. THE LIGHT WILL NOT ILLUMINATE WITH A NEW BULB. THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR HAS BECOME UNGROUNDED MULTIPLE TIMES. THERE IS NO POWER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MULTIPLE JEEP OWNERS WITH MODELS OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL AND THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE OF SORTS. I HAD CONTACTED JEEP AS WELL, ONLY TO BE TOLD THE VEHICLE IS OLD. I PURCHASED THE CAR 9/2007 AND WITHIN ONE MONTHS TIME THE REGULATOR DIED AND WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS 3 YEARS OLD. THE REGULATOR ON THE SAME WINDOW FAILED AND THE TAILLIGHT BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION. *TR

DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BROKE. GARAGE WELDED IT, BUT IT BROKE AGAIN AT 102,000 MILES. SEAT FRAMES SHOULD NEVER BREAK! ONLY VEHICLE I EVER OWNED TO HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. CHECKED ON LINE, APPARENTLY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. *TR
2004 GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND TIME SINCE 2004 REPLACING THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT SEAT. IT BROKE IN 2008 AND AGAIN IN 2011. THE SEAT STARTS TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH LIKE ITS LOOSE AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TIGHTEN THE SEAT.. SO YOU HAVE TO SIMPLY LIVE WITH IT, VERY UNSAFE IN MY EYES. ELECTRIC WINDOWS AND LOCKS STOPPED WORKING. FOUND BROKEN WIRE IN DRIVER SIDE DOOR HARNESS. REPAIRED THE WIRE AND THEN RF DOOR HARNESS WIRES BROKEN. REPAIRED THOSE WIRES AND NOW HARNESS CONTACT IN RF DOOR PANEL CONNECTION IS FAULTY. WINDOW AND LOCKS DO NOT WORK UNLESS YOU WRIGGLE CONNECTOR. RR DOOR DOES NOT LOCK. REPLACE WINDOW AND DOOR SWITCH BUT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
THE SEAT BRACKETS FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT ON MY 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAVE SNAPPED. THIS CAUSES THE SEAT TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH WHEN ACCELERATING OR BREAKING. WILL COST BETWEEN 500-800 TO HAVE THE BRACKETS REPLACED. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V673000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE DEALER WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE THE CONTACT PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND AS ADVISED THAT EACH HANDLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
WE HAVE A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT HAS HAD AN ONGOING FAILURE IN THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. OVER 10 TIMES THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP REPAIR FACILITIES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS PARTS REPLACED (BLENDING DOORS, VALVES ETC) AND THE FAILURE IS STILL THERE. THE A/C SYSTEM DOES NOT PRODUCE AIR AT THE TEMP THAT IS SELECTED, AND MOST OF THE TIME WILL BLOW HOT ON ONE SIDE AND COLD ON THE OTHER OR THE OTHER WAY AROUND. THE LAST TIME IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP THE MANAGER SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, AND WHEN MY WIFE DROVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE MANAGER, THERE WAS BURNING HOT AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENT, THE MANAGER SAID THAT WAS NORMAL. NOTHING THEY HAVE DONE HAS FIXED THE PROBLEMS AND WE ARE READY TO SUE THEM TO RECOUP OUR MONEY. *TR

FAULTY PLASTIC PARTS BREAK. APPARENTLY THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH MANY JEEP MODELS / YEARS BUT NO RECALL EVER ISSUED. COST IN EXCESS OF $1,500 TO REPAIR ESTIMATED. *TR
NO POWER TO WINDOWS, LOCKS AND MIRRORS ON DOORS. THERE IS A WIRE ON THE INSIDE OF THE DRIVERS DOOR THAT SPLITS IN HALF FOR NO REASON PREVENTING ANYTHING ON THE DOORS TO WORK. I CANNOT OPEN ANY WINDOWS, UN/LOCK ANY DOORS, OR ADJUST MY MIRRORS. THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED BUT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY SEAT COMPLETELY BROKE, THROWING ME TOWARDS THE BACK SEAT. THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND THAT NO ONE WAS COMING DOWN THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD OR IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TERRIBLE. WHY WOULD A SEAT FAIL LIKE THAT??? THE CAR IS PRETTY MUCH NOT DRIVABLE NOW BECAUSE THE SEAT IS COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF THE BASE. THIS IS CRAZY!!!
